2. Process
Firstly for my experiment
I opened a document
and decided to google
the dimensions for a film
poster which were:
8100x12000 pixels.
After finding the correct
size for my poster I
searched for coronavirus
related images until I
found this one. After
finding this I made the
choice of basing the
poster around the testing
facility due to the fact
this links in with the virus
very well as well as the
restrictions.
3. Process
• I then proceeded to
add another image
of a testing centre
because I started to
base my
experimental poster
on this with the
hope that it may
help the viewers
correlate between
not only the virus
but its effects.
4. Process
• Finally I added one more
image of the testing centre to
give my poster the best chance
as possible to signify the loses
we had from the coronavirus.
In all the images you can see
people who have adjusted to
this issue and those who have
had hard times, just like all of
us. I chose these images
because we all can relate to
them and sympathy with each
other over the fact that we are
all going through similar things
at the moment. Which is what
my short film / documentary is
going to portray.
5. Process
• I then proceeded to add the
spore of the COVID virus to
make sure everybody who is
viewing the poster is on the
same page about what the
documentary entails.
• I decided to lower the
spores opacity to make it
look like its almost fading
away, sending an
interpretive message to the
people who view it. The
message being that it is
almost over and that the
virus, hopefully is fading
into the past.
6. Process
• Lastly I added some text onto
the poster to make it stand out
more and because it needed a
title. I decided to name it
‘COVID: effects and measures’.
I landed on this name due to
the fact I want my short film to
be informative and to help
people who are struggling in
this odd time we are living in.
• I also thought it would help
not only the aesthetic appeal
but also just the appeal in
general by adding some
credits, so I decided to put my
name at the bottom to make it
come across as more
professional and to look like a
real poster for a film.
7. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• I will include quite a few elements from my experiment in my final product. One
element I will definitely be adding is my name at the bottom as a director, this is
because it gives the trailer/poster a more realistic feel to it and polishes it off very
nicely. Another thing I will be implementing into my final piece is the COVID spore.
I feel as though it is almost necessary to have this featured in my final poster to
convey the message on what the documentary is going to be about. It also helps
people want to watch it more and have a larger demand for my product as
anything related to coronavirus as of late does do exceptionally well in terms of
audience appeal.
• If I were to add my name to the front of my final piece poster I would want to use
a more professional font due to the fact the one I used in my experiment does not
help put the point across as it is not a very serious font and gives connotations of
unprofessionalism etc.
• Finally in my final production of my poster for the documentary I am making I will
be adding some similar images to the ones I have displayed on my experiment.
This is because these images make the audience relate to what will be spoken
about in the documentary more because they can see it and relate to it as well as
being able to relate to the COVID testing facilities and the new found hassle of
having to be tested quite frequently.
