This document contains Jacob's evaluation of a football management production process project. It includes sections on research, planning, time management, technical qualities, aesthetic qualities, audience appeal, and peer feedback. The research involved older top-down football games. Planning gathered necessary information but the mood board lacked detail. Time management was an issue due to project overlap. Peer feedback suggested making the pitch and animation longer for more entertainment. Jacob agreed the pitch should be bigger and the project longer.
3. Research
• I think that the strengths of my research are that I searched for older types
of football games, ones that are predominantly top down/birds eye view.
The way this helped my product was the fact that I took the old school
look from my research and used it in my work.
• I do think that the weaknesses for my work will be how I made the layout
for my work I reckon I could have put more effort into my describing and
labelling. The effect this would have on my product would make it a lot
more detailed and more professional.
4. Planning
• I think that the strengths on my planning where that I gathered the necessary
information for my planning and put it all together in an order that then give an
idea about what the project will turn out to look like.
• Some things that I could have vastly improved on would be the mood board since I
didn’t put much into it and it doesn’t give much of an idea to what my work could
look like.
• The effect that this would have on my work would have probably given me more
ideas and for my actual project and it would have helped me plan it more ahead of
time.
5. Time Management
• I don’t think that I managed my time very well since I had the project
over lap with my next project. I also think that my project could have
been improved by having more time, since I could have perfected the
whole free kick and the animation I could have made it longer.
• I think I would have probably made the actual animated image bigger
and I think I would have made the animation longer and have more
action.
6. Technical
Qualities
• Some similarities from both images are that they both use the top
down view onto the pitch which then lets you see the whole pitch and its players in
action.
• The scoreboards are both in the same position, and both colour
coordinated to show the colour of the teams.
• Some differences are that the bottom image has more information to
do with the game going on, ECT. You can change the speed of the match
and see all stats from the players and the leagues.
• Although my project is pixelated and the other image isn't I think that It
gives mine a retro feeling to it
7. Aesthetic Qualities
• I believe that the one true thing that I like about the project is the way the box is
set out for the animated free kick since its laid out as if it was a real freekick from a
match.
• I do also believe that I could have set out the whole pitch better by including the
entire pitch instead of just having one side of it.
8. Audience Appeal
• I believe that I have appealed towards my audience because the
whole football pitch/ football manager view fits in with the audience I
had to appeal to.
• I also believe that with the football box and the freekick appeals to my
audience since it has a lot to do with football.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the whole aspect of subutio/football
manager since it has the top down style to the
product
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? I believe it could have been
made longer for more entertainment.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the freekick and the style used since it was
pixelated.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? The pitch could have been made
longer and to full scale.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the use of colour and size with only showing one
side of the pitch giving importance to one side
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• I think that some improvements could be the size
of the player models could be bigger so its easier
to see some of the players.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I should have made the pitch bigger so
you can see the whole thing a lot easier and also
making the actual project longer so its not just a
freekick it could be say the second half of the match
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
• I disagree with the size of the player models
needing to be bigger so people can see them
better.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
• Some changes that I would make would be to
make the pitch bigger so there is more to look
at and also to make the actual game longer so
its not just a freekick that you see. The
reasons for this is so its more visually
interesting for the audience also it would give
the audience a better idea of what the end
game would look and play like.
