Jacob.A.Lindley
Audience Profile
• Primary Audience

violence.

“male gaze”

Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
– 18 to 40 year olds males for the
comedy and zombie side
(George A. Romero,) since he
mastered the zombie horror
genre.
– Any race because it’s a film
about zombies its nothing
political.
– Highschool education
– £10,000 +
– Working class upwards.
• Secondary Audience
– 18 to 25 year old females for
the comedy side.
Hypodermic Needle
• Definition – the hypodermic needle theory is
about the fact that we consume media and we
don’t tend to argue and we just go with it and
don’t ask questions.
• Example – An example of this could be in the late
1930 a radio show made up a false story about
aliens invading but they did it as if they were
reading the news so people panicked and
believed the radio broadcast.
Uses and Gratifications Information
• Information > I use the BBC to find unbiased
news about what is happening around the
world and in our country.
• Just that same as if you want to be kept up to
date with your favourite sport plus team.
Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• Personal identity > Subculture movies or TV
shows helps us understand what happened in
the past and it can help us find things that we
like and add it into our daily lives.
Uses and Gratifications Integration and
Social Interaction
• Interrogation and social interaction > I watch
films or tv shows about football hooligan film
and it then it gives you a idea of how to act
and how to behave in a situation like the one
you have just seen.
Uses and Gratifications Entertainment
• Entertainment >Video games give you the
sense of escapism because you spend time in
another world helping imaginary people doing
random quests but it entertains you and gives
you the sense or a reward plus relaxation.
Consumer Generated Content
• Example - Youtube
• What are the advantages to media producers?
– The can earn money of the videos
• Why would the audience generate content?
– satisfaction from doing some which makes them
want to do it more and then that keeps up the
production of the videos, and to put their
imagination onto a video from the masses to
watch.
