3. Research
The strengths of my research is that I was able to get the designs of the game
similar to that of games from the 80s. I also look into different dungeon
crawlers from the 80s which helps makes my game have a familiar feel to
some people. I also looked into the layout of different dungeon crawlers to
get an idea of how the game and map should look.
4. Planning
Because of planning I was able to make my game a lot easier with planning. I
was also able to save time in making my game and this allows me spending
more time on improving the different areas of my game for example I was
able to make the boss shoot fire balls.
5. Time Management
I used my time well when making my game. For example when making my
game I set myself deadlines so I can get parts of my game done. But because
of this I finished my game ahead of time which allowed me to go back and
improve my game which helped make it better than it originally would have
been if I didn't have the extra time to improve it.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I am happy with how my work
turned out but there are a few
things I could have added for
example I could have added an
inventory or an XP bar
8. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my target audience by adding in the
action/combat elements I said I was going to add. I also used the
retro pixel art style to give my game a cartoon look . Which
helped me appeal to my target audience. Which was kids and
teens.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
I like this product as its really well detail and really well made. I liked this person’s
characters as they very cool to view and see fight, especially the main character. I also
liked the setting in which they were fighting in as it almost felt and looked like a real
game. The enemies were also very well done and brought a sense of scariness towards
the game, especially the final enemy who kills you at the end. I also really like the
death mechanic as it was really cool to see a load of dust as your character got
burned.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
The only big improvement I would suggest for this person would be to make the game
a bit slower or make the game a bit longer, as it is quite short and is really fast. I would
also like to see more monsters as the monster this person had made were really cool
and seeing more of them included would be even better.
