1. What have you learnt from your
audience feedback?
Evaluation 3
2. • Generally the feedback which I received overall for
my media products was largely helpful as it
allowed me to make the necessary adjustments
from an honest perspective. Blog comments were
largely helpful as it allowed for my peers to
comment on my work through the ease of blogger
which I was always able to access online.
Moreover we also gained verbal feedback through
showing our target audience the work in progress
which allowed us to receive feedback immediately
without the need for them going onto blogger.
3. • Mainly the verbal feedback we received was from our
teacher Mr Ford, who gave us an honest opinion for our
draft video that we needed to improve the quality,
lighting and amount of camera shots to reach the higher
bands of marks which we were aiming to achieve. This
resulted in us hiring the use of the studio in Leicester to
achieve the best possible quality of filming under the
budget we were working to. Once the editing had began
we took further feedback from our peers and Mr Ford
who liked the changes we had made to our draft and
the styling, shots etc. We were then encouraged to
work hard on the editing to make sure we maintained
the level of work we had attempted to prolong
throughout our blog.
4. • Similarly another form of feedback which we
received was the blog comments on our '25
word pitch' which was very helpful as they
gave us an outsiders insight into our plans for
our video and what they believed would work
and what wouldn't. Additionally this gave
peers with a similar taste in music to that of
ours (Electric Dance) to give us their own
opinions which we thought further supported
our idea.
5. • When creating my digipak and advert prior to the
music video, I posted a draft version of the two
which was possible for my peers to comment on
which I found extremely helpful as it gave me an
outsiders perspective of my work which is
sometimes helpful as alternative to my own.
From the feedback that I gained it allowed me to
make some necessary changes, of which the
general consensus was that I didn't include
enough information on either my digipak or
advert but the colour scheme worked well and
they liked the zebra print.
6. • Comparing the draft version of our video to our final
product the difference in quality is massively evident
due to the poor quality of our draft video which was
commented upon by our class peers and teacher. The
main issues were that it was poorly lit, the lip
synchronization was bad and the clothes worn were not
appropriate for the look we were trying to convey. All of
these we took into account when filming our final video
which allowed us to gain a higher quality end product.
Another comment which was made in relation to our
draft was that we did not include a large enough variety
of shots which led us to research other video's of a
similar genre for inspiration on the kinds of shots to use.
7. Draft advert feedback
• "I really like the bold animal pattern on the outside which stands out to passers by. Although I'm
not sure what relevance it has to the rest to your advert and digipak? also, I think you should re-
consider the font you have used because I'm not sure whether it is clear enough" - Joe Ford
• "I like how you have used zebra print, I think it looks unique and makes it memorable, however the
image on the front gives the poster a very '50 shades of grey' feel and it doesn't really look like a
poster for an album" - George Cartwright
• "I like you digipak as it flows well and there is a clear link between each panel. The front cover is
unusual but effective and the simplistic elements allows the focus to be on the image. The font
style works well and the edging allows for continuity. You could consider bringing your track list up
slightly to centralise it as well as separating it from the barcode and information. Furthermore, you
could include something on the inside right panel. I like how your magazine advert has followed
through the design of your album and remains simplistic. You could consider providing more variety
between the font styles/size on your magazine advert but overall it looks professional and very
authentic." - Charlotte Hull
8. Draft digipak feedback
• "The monochrome colour palette works well throughout the digipak. Your
use of eye imagery to represent the band name works well, however you'll
need to use your own photography for the final digipak. On the back
cover, I think that the text should be central and maybe the legal
information could be in a smaller font size. Good overall." - Millie Drew
• "I think the colour scheme works well for this digipak as it is used
throughout. I also think the black and white print is good as it creates a
good contrast and also keeps the design simple. The use of pictures is
good and makes it look authentic" - Rebecca Turner
• "I like the consistency throughout your works as it links all of the panels
together well. I like how you have used photographs of eyes as I feel this is
an original idea that is effective. I also like the zip idea as this is attractive
and eye-catching." - Quinn Macarthur
