2. Number Name Brief Description
1 Compliance You have to make sure you don’t break the law or lie, or
make anyone upset by the pictures or images used within
your advertisement.

marketing
communications
You have to make sure what you’re doing looks like an
advertisement, you need to have slogans and logos, or a
colour that a potential customer would recognise the
brand you are making the advertisement for.
3 Misleading Adverts You cannot lie about the product or it’s price.
4 Harm and Offence Your advert can’t be offensive purposely, and your advert
can not be made to offend an individual or a group of
people by using disturbing imagery etc..
5 Children You can’t promote or encourage dangerous behaviour in
children and you can’t pressure children to buy your
products.

person) in your advertisement you would need to get
written permission off them first.
13 Food, food
supplements
and associated health
or nutritional claims
You can’t promote bad dietary habits that could make
someone unhealthy, and you can’t tell people your product
has health benefits without proof to back it up.
4. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
All your ideas are in front of you so you can see everything you are
thinking.
You can be as detailed as you want it to be.
You can keep developing any ideas you have until you cant develop them
anymore.
• Weaknesses of using this method
Everything is a bit all over the place, so it could be easy to get confused if
you get too many ideas, also they are
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because I felt like I was getting all my ideas out
there and that they were quite detailed, but it didn’t matter because I
kept it neat, so it didn’t confuse me and it was an easy way to get all of my
ideas in front of me.
6. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
It shows your ideas in a different way, making it more creative and more
fun to do than just writing it down. You can also see all your ideas
visually.
• Weaknesses of using this method
There's minimal explanation within the mood board, so if you go away
and come back the next day you might not remember what you chose a
certain picture for, as it doesn’t say anything underneath the pictures.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
No, because I struggled to find pictures that come together to form my
idea, and I couldn’t explain the ideas I had properly through pictures.
8. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
There is more of a variety of fonts and colours and it
gives you more options of what to pick.
• Weaknesses of using this method
It could seem messy, and there's no way that you could
remember the idea fully from a font, if you’ve been
away from it for a while.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I didn’t really enjoy using this method as I know it will
just confuse me, as I won’t know what I’m thinking about
with all the writing, it was too complex for me.
10. Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
You know what your poster is going to look like, and if it will
look good or bad as you can see how it will be laid out and
shown, you will also be able to tell if it will look professional
and see if its realistic to make in the time scale we have.
• Weaknesses of using this method
Your idea might change as you learn how to use photo shop,
as you will see if your idea is realistic or not, and you may not
like how your poster has been laid out on the page.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
Yes, it gave you a good taste of how the poster was set out
and how it will look and be in real life, obviously your own
poster will look more professional as you will be using photo
shop, but it is a good thing to use so you can see how every
thing will look.
13. Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this method is that everyone's ideas
are included and that everyone will feel part of the group
and that they have contributed. Everyone’s ideas will be
written down and used to make a bigger idea.
• Weaknesses of using this method
People may argue and disagree with ideas that others have
made, and others may feel like they aren’t being taken
seriously by the rest of the group as they aren’t being
‘listened’ to.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
Yes, as I felt like everyone got their ideas on to the paper and
we all decided on the idea we had all together and we like the
idea we have.
14. Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
You get useful feedback from the tutor, and you know
how you could improve, or if the idea is a good one.
• Weaknesses of using this method
You may change your idea after the informal pitch, and
then the tutor may be confused as you showed a
completely different idea to them than the actual
finished project.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because it was useful to get the
ideas out there, to the tutor, and the feedback was useful
to have at the point of the project we were at.
15. Formal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this method is that you know exactly
what you’re going to do and all the formal and professional
things like if you’re offending annoying is useful as it is what
would be used in a formal setting.
• Weaknesses of using this method
May not understand some of the questions and get confused
as it is really formal, and it could be confusing to someone
who does not have a wide range of vocabulary knowledge.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I did not like using this method as it seemed too formal for me
to use, I felt like a lot of it was unnecessary and a waste of
time.
16. Initial Reaction
Initially, I thought this would be a really difficult
task and that I would not be very good at
making the game, it seemed a little bit
intimidating because animation is a complicated
and hard software to work.
17. Initial Reaction
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this method is that if you record
how you felt when you first received the task, you will
be able to look back and see how you felt then
compared to how you feel now, after doing the task.
• Weaknesses of using this method
It’s not very useful to the planning or anything as it
doesn’t give you a reminder of your ideas or anything,
it’s just about feelings and the work you produce
doesn’t really have anything to do with that.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
No, it wasn’t useful and didn’t really help me in the long
run.
19. Sketches
• Strengths of using this method
You can see the images you have thought in your mind
on the paper and see how good it looks pixel by pixel.
• Weaknesses of using this method
You could change your idea, and have to go through the
whole process again and it may take a long time.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method because it gave me an chance to
be creative and really start to get into the game I was
making.
20. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
The strengths of using this method is that you can see how
your idea will pan out in a very professional way, and see the
ethical side of the work you do, making sure you don’t offend
anyone etc.
• Weaknesses of using this method
The questions are easy to misinterpret and it isn’t easy to
understand if you aren’t very good with difficult vocabulary.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
I liked using this method as I felt like I could understand
and answer all the questions fast and I felt like the form
I filled out was effective and helped me.
