3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
I created the following survey in order to find out from my target audience what they
thought of my production and therefore how effective it was.

The results of my survey are in the table below:
I have then created a number of Infograms to represent the information I had collected and
display it in easily understandable methods. I used a variety of styles such as pie charts,
pictoral graphs and wordclouds to show a variety of ways of understanding the information
– because when it is just numbers it could be seen as being just numbers.
This is the answer to my first question “Did
you enjoy my music video?” Where I wanted
to find out what the general mood about my
music video was and therefore whether it
would be successful. 90% of the people said
that they enjoyed it with only one person
being neutral.

I then asked if they could follow the storyline of my
music video because it was a video which caused
confusion when I was creating it. I found that
everyone was able to understand the video for the
majority of the time with 70% saying they knew what
was happening and the remaining 30% being able to
understand it at times.
I then needed to know whether it fitted to the genre
I was working in, this question was answered fairly
controversially and I feel as this could be because of
a misunderstanding of the genre as Acoustic Indie
Rock/Pop is in theory a combination of 4 genres and
so people may think of them as all being different.
50% of people told me that it fitted to the genre
with 20% saying it didn't and 30% saying they were
neutral on the matter – I am taking this as positive
feedback!

My survey was answered by
mainly people of my target
audience as well as a couple
of people outside of this
group. From my target
audience, 75% said the music
promotional campaign
appealed to them while the
other 25% said they were
unsure with 0% being definite
nos.

The final question on my survey was about the
effectiveness of the digi-pack and as to whether
my audience would buy it if they saw it in a shop.
50% of people I asked said that they would
definitely buy it if they were to see it in the
shop, while 30% were unsure and 20% were nos.
I have cross analysed these results to see whether there was any common themes. Those
who were more passionate about enjoying my music video by saying they ‘Strongly Agreed’
were then more likely to say Yes they would buy the digi-pack if they saw it in a shop as well
as being more likely to say that they felt it fits into the genre and that they could follow it –
it could mean that they are
more able to commit to an answer than others. If I were to have collected more responses I
would be able to generalise the results more easily and therefore have a more
representative set of results.
From my results I have learnt that my video was effective and relatively easy to be followed,
my target audience had a fairly good response to it and overall it fitted into the genre I was
working in.
