4. Feedback involving:
Group interviews- gaining feedback from people in group
sessions of people that go to my school, within my target
audience. Showing them the video then noting what they felt
about the video and how it could be improved (early stages of
developing the music video) I gained a very positive response to
the video and people anonymously noted on paper what they
though could be improved and paced it in a box. ( this provided
honest and accurate critical feedback including shot lengths and
having more edits)
Secondary audience:
I interviewed my parents and a few teachers after showing them
the video and found that they conveyed it in a different light.
They understood the fun element to the videos and thought the
home videos was a creative way to express the narrative very
well. They also found that London was expressed in a accurate
and positive way however went on to say that they wouldn’t be
as enthusiastic in listening to the actual sound track more then
once.
5. Putting my
music video on
YouTube to
gain feedback.
Also by
gaining likes
and dislikes to
see the overall
impact of the
video. A very
positive
response.
One of many comments I received.
10. Getting Feedback
through
skype, showcasing a
interview after showing
my client all the
products I made.
This allowed me to gain
in depth feed back from
the specific target
audience I am looking
at.

Q1: The majority of people that I asked said that the video was linked to
the sub-culture of hip-hop, this is very encouraging as it means that the
genre characteristics of hip-hop used have been identified by the
audience.
Q2: When making my video I wanted to make sure that I used bright
colours and fast images. Most of the feedback given to me was that all
the fast-forwarding made the video fast and fun. I think I could have
emphasised the colours used as only 20% of the 20 I asked believed that
the video was bright and colourful.
Q3: The majority of people I asked (85%) said that they saw enough of
the artist. When studying Goodwin's theory I realised the importance of
close-ups for both the record label and the audience. Therefore I believe
that the results of this questionnaire show that I have been successful in
the amount of close-ups used.
Q4: From my second questionnaire I found that the majority of my
target audience use YouTube most of the time. Again when I asked in my
third questionnaire where they watched the video, 65% answered with
YouTube. This illustrates the fact that YouTube amongst my target
audience is commonly used.
Q5: From these results, the majority of people asked believed that the
video was well aimed at the target audience, therefore I have been
successful in targeting my audience.
Q6: 70% of the people I asked believed that it was set in a good
location. However, if I was able to ask people other then Londoners I
think that I might have got a different response.
Q7: 95% agreed that the content was appropriate for my target
audience, proving to have been successful.
Editor's Notes
This is an example of one client profile to show what type of audience would listen to my music.
During the process of making my Album cover, I continuously uploaded my drafts to gain feedback from a general audience, many from my target audience as those are the people that ‘follow’ or interact with my twitter. I gained great feedback which helped me to develop my album cover and make it as professional as I could. The comments and likes really helped me when developing my ideas. This was important for me to see as it enabled me to see what my target audience liked or disliked about it. by using the feedback I was able to create a album cover that really appeals to my target audience.
I had learnt that even when I think a product my look good, after getting feedback you realise imperfections through another persons help. This is a process I would use in future projects of mine as I feel it has been really beneficial to me in this project.
Feedback played a massive part of the editing and developing process. Each change has heavily been sculpted by audience feedback.
