Monday:
A: My class is a group of second grade students. There are 10 girls and 7 boys.
Within the classroom, 80 percent of them are white, 10 percent are African
American, and 10 percent are Hispanic.
S: My students will comprehend and distinguish facts about the deaf culture. They
will do this by; listening to a podcast about deaf culture facts, completing a
webquest, watching a storytelling video, and exploring secondlife. This will be
completed by the end of the week with a 85-100 percent accuracy.
S: The media that I will be using will consist of; podcast, webquest, youtube video,
and secondlife. For my podcast, this will be used for my students who either miss
school this day or for students who want to continue to review the facts. My
webquest was made on PowerPoint and will be completed during the allotted time
in class. The youtube video that I have previously made will be showed at the
beginning of class for the students to understand the concept of a hearing impaired
individual. Finally, using secondlife I will have my students explore Gallaudet
University, a deaf university to understand the deaf culture.
U: both my students and myself will access the media being used. Secondlife and the
youtube video will be accessed through the Internet while the podcast can be
accessed through itunes or by email and the PowerPoint will just be on a computer
but will access the Internet throughout.
R: At the start of class, I will ask questions to see if any of my students already know
anything about deaf culture. This will help me know how elaborate I need to be
when teaching this subject.
E: By the end of the day I will assess my students by how much they can answer
when we open the discussion back up from the beginning of class.

Monday assure

  • 1. Monday: A: My class is a group of second grade students. There are 10 girls and 7 boys. Within the classroom, 80 percent of them are white, 10 percent are African American, and 10 percent are Hispanic. S: My students will comprehend and distinguish facts about the deaf culture. They will do this by; listening to a podcast about deaf culture facts, completing a webquest, watching a storytelling video, and exploring secondlife. This will be completed by the end of the week with a 85-100 percent accuracy. S: The media that I will be using will consist of; podcast, webquest, youtube video, and secondlife. For my podcast, this will be used for my students who either miss school this day or for students who want to continue to review the facts. My webquest was made on PowerPoint and will be completed during the allotted time in class. The youtube video that I have previously made will be showed at the beginning of class for the students to understand the concept of a hearing impaired individual. Finally, using secondlife I will have my students explore Gallaudet University, a deaf university to understand the deaf culture. U: both my students and myself will access the media being used. Secondlife and the youtube video will be accessed through the Internet while the podcast can be accessed through itunes or by email and the PowerPoint will just be on a computer but will access the Internet throughout. R: At the start of class, I will ask questions to see if any of my students already know anything about deaf culture. This will help me know how elaborate I need to be when teaching this subject. E: By the end of the day I will assess my students by how much they can answer when we open the discussion back up from the beginning of class.
