A: Analyze Learners:
My class is a group of first grade students with disabilities. There are 10 boys
and 7 girls. Within this classroom, 70 percent are white, 20 percent are African
American, and 10 percent are Hispanic. Also, 7 students have mild to severe ADHD.
S: State Objectives:
My students will identify and recite the months of the year by; watching a
youtube video about the Months of the Year, reciting and singing the months of the
year to the tune of the Macarena that was previously recorded on a podcast, and
completing a webquest about the months of the year. This will be completed by the
end of the week with a 90- 100 percent accuracy.
S: Select Methods, Media and Materials:
My media that I would use would be making a youtube video about the
months of the year and uploading it to youtube so my children could access it either
at home or in school. We would also watch it in class as well. Another media tool
used would be a podcast. I would previously record the song and lyrics on a podcast
so children could listen to the song and sing it whenever they would like. Lastly, I
would create a webquest using zunal.com and have my students complete the
webquest through a certain allotted time throughout the week of the lesson plan.
U: Utilize Media and Materials:
My students will identify the months of the year by completing a webquest
designed specifically for the months of the year and their grade level, by reciting the
months of year with the song every time it is played each morning, and by learning
the months of the year by watching the Youtube video.
E: Evaluate and Revise:
During the week span, I will evaluate my students by how well they complete
the webquest that is provided. Also by how well they can recite the months of the
year through our song each morning that was provided to them through the
podcast. Through these two assignments, my students will understand the material
to the fullest extent.
