U:
Before the lesson I will find appropriate websites, pictures, songs, and videos to
show the class as examples for the project. I will also arrange the desk in
groups in order for it to be easier to collaborate on the projects with their
groups. Also, I will need to reserve the correct amount of computers for an
appropriate time for the students to do their research. Finally, I will need to lay
out the material needed for those students who choose to make posters.

R:
To start off the lesson, I will ask the students to share some things they do with
their families around the holidays. Then, I will explain that other places
celebrate in varies ways. During this time I will bring up pictures to show
different decorations, customs, foods, and festivals that are done from all over
the world. Then proceed to play varies holiday music from other countries. Then,
I will give students a moment to think of places they would like to further
research and then I will break them up into groups, where they will decided
which country they would like to do their project on. Following that, the class
will go to the computer lab and begin working on the project. I will inform them
that each project should include: the country’s holiday food, songs, decorations,
festivals, traditions, and whatever else they find interesting. Students will have
3-4 days to get their group project together. By the end of the week students
should be ready to present to the class, and tell them collectively what they
have learned in their research.
E:
I will use the presentation as part of evaluating the students. By their project
being well put together, feels prepared, and shows evidence of group effort. The
project must be accurate and entertaining. The projects must meet the
requirements of including the country’s holiday food, songs, decorations,
festivals, traditions. Each presentation should last at least 3 minutes.
Once the whole class has presented, the students will be asked to write one
paragraph on what they found interesting from the other projects, and how they
felt about the whole experience. I will use this to evaluate their understanding,
and how well I taught the class.
