Web 2.0
1. Google Docs Review
The Web 2.0 application that I chose to review is Google Docs. This is a
website that allows individuals to create a document upload it and add people to
their group and each person can go in and edit it. A Google doc is a great application
for education because of the various documents that can be uploaded and either
worked on individually or collaboratively. Google docs is completely free. To use
this application one just needs to create a Google account to access Google Docs for
free. This is one reason why it is a web 2.0 application. Another reason for this being
an approved web 2.0 application is because of the ability for individuals to access a
document or presentation at the same time. It doesn’t matter who is using the
application anyone can sign on and edit what they want within a document. Lastly,
what makes Google Docs a Web 2.0 website is the fact that you can work
collaboratively on it. Not only can one individual upload a document, presentation,
etc. but once one does so he/she can add her group members so they can edit it as
well. I think this is a great example of project-based learning and should really be
implemented in classroom.
