The lymphatic system is essential for immune defense, fluid circulation, and fat transport, comprising lymph, lymph vessels, lymph nodes, and several organs including the spleen and thymus. Lymph fluid, which contains white blood cells, flows through a network of vessels and nodes, where it is filtered and lymphocytes produce antibodies. The system can be affected by obstructions, infections, and cancers, which may lead to conditions such as lymphedema and lymphadenitis.
