The Role Of Accounting And Possible Future Of Accountancy...
Introduction
Traditionally, accounting has a role to play in preparing financial reports, and tax preparation
manually (Zodage, 2015). According to World Report s Best Jobs (2014, cited in Hood (2014)), the
accountancy was recognised as the third rank of the best professionals, and it is one in all careers
having high demand (Hood, 2014). Nevertheless, the business practices and the environment have
continuously changed and reshaped aspects of the accountancy profession (Wolters Kluwer, 2014).
Some critics argued that services relating to accounting will be inevitably replaced by technology
(Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, 2015). Conversely, others believe that this career
will still exist; however, the role of accountants will be altered along with the changing in the business
environment (Towers, 2015). This report will present the crucial factors impacting the traditional
approach of professional accounting and possible future of accountancy.
Factors Disrupting Accounting Profession in the Future
● The development of technology
Advanced technologies are crucial factors causing a major change in accounting areas (Guthrie Parker,
2016). Since the development of technology will certainly grow, accountants will obtain various
benefits from embracing it. For example, cloud based technology allows the professionals to adopt
cheaper software, access to mobility of workplace and obtain real time data (Nixon, 2015). In contrast,

Rhodes Must Fall Movement Essay
The following essay will be discussing and analysing the Rhodes Must Fall movement which was
created and encouraged by students at the University of Cape Town in response to The Johannesburg
Salon Vol 9. Throughout this essay, I will be sympathising with the students that formed the
movement, but will also be making a critical observation. The Rhodes Must Fall Movement was
created by the students in order for black students to feel like they belong and included in the
university, as well as for equality for black students and students of colour within UCT. On the 9th of
March 2015, a student from UCT threw human excrement at the statue of Cecil John Rhodes on
campus at the university. By doing so, the student ignited the beginning of student ... Show more

Decolonisation can be defined as a process which always was and will continue to be a violent
process. This is due to the fact that one man will be replacing another using the same force that was
used to colonise them (Fanon, 2001). Decolonisation can be described as being a process of complete
disorder as it is when two or more conflicting forces meet one another. These opposing forces will
have their own beliefs as well as different ways of doing certain tasks (Fanon, 2001). The movement
of Rhodes Must Fall is exactly that. During the movement, violence is seen when human excrement is
thrown at the statue of Cecil John Rhodes. Another representation of violence is the sudden outbreak
of one of the leaders and the vandalism that was present. Although Fanon states that violence will
always be a part of the decolonisation process, I do not believe that we should associate and include
violence when standing up for what we believe in, as this may infringe on peoples human rights if one
does not feel safe in a certain situation where violence is a prominent

The Iron Curtain Analysis
Description: The artwork that I am criticizing is the Wall of Oil Barrels The Iron Curtain by Christo
and Jeanne Claude. The location of this barricade was in Rue Visconti, Paris, between Rue Bonaparte
and Rue de Seine. Rue Visconti is a one way street that is 140 meters long and 3 meters wide. They
used oil barrels and put them up on June 27, 1962. Christo and Jeanne Claude worked together on the
barricade, taking a total of eight hours to get it all done. The iron/steel oil barrels were stacked on top
of each other, forming a wall/barricade of some sort. Christo and Jeanne Claude left all the barrels
exactly they way were, they didn t even change the colors of them. They also kept the brand of the
barrel and the rust on them visible. The barricade took up 488.26800 feet (13.7 x 13.2 x 2.7). There
was a total of 89 barrels used to create the art. Analysis: The wall of oil barrels appear to be some
balance. If they weren t at least balanced and stack properly, the whole thing would ve probably

too much space. Theoretically however, I think I would enjoy having this in my house. I t has a nice
meaning behind it and it would be nice to see everyday. It is aesthetically successful in my opinion, it
just works so well. I would say this art piece is a mix between formalism and Imitationalism. I believe
both are what makes an artwork aesthetically successful. The whole thing, from how it was
constructed to the meaning behind it, are the reasons why I think this piece is

Sister Carrie is a novel that published by Theodore Dreiser. The novel is about a young girl who left

Ostinato Scene Analysis

Part I:
Musical texture built from ostinati (short, repeated patterns)
There are several points that ostinato has been used in the film, and starting from (00:10:56), which is
the scene when Marion is packing her luggage. There are strings playing the upper linear line in high
register, and there are also strings playing in the middle register and low register in order to create
those different layers of voicing. The scene followed this one, which starts around (00:13:02) also use
ostinato at the beginning part of this scene. This scene is about when Marion drives her car on the

As I have discussed a little bit earlier that the instrumentation for this music scores, unlike traditional
orchestra music, it mostly uses strings. Even though there are no brasses and percussions (usually play
the lower register and bass melody) in the film, I think Bernard Herrmann used the strings in a way
that they are the whole orchestra. He used the double basses and cellos to play out the bottom line of
melody and the violins and violas to play the upper melody. He is using the string ensemble but
creates the sounding effect of a whole orchestra. As we discussed during class last week that most
composers back into that time prefer to use more neo romantic style music; however, this music score
definitely has nothing relate to romantic style. It is dissonant as I said before, and creates lots of
tensions but it does not resolve, and I feel like that is one big thing that makes it different from
classical music, and obviously, it applies many uses of atonality. Even at the beginning scene
(00:06:02) that when Marion spends her lunchtime with Sam, the music at there is not like typical love
theme music. People usually relate strings with love theme; however, I feel like the strings playing at
this scene do not tightly apply to the romance element in the film. Comparing to the music that
happens later, this one is not that dissonant, it is still unresolved at the

The Power Of The Koch Brothers
Charles and David Koch, the Koch brothers , and their network allegedly raised over $400 million
dollars in the 2012 election cycle. Most of that money was donated to the Republican party. For 2016,
the Koch brothers are planning to spend even more money nearly a billion dollars. So, who are the
Koch brothers? What do they stand for?* And how powerful are they in the world of politics?
Well, the Koch brothers both tie for 6th richest person in the world, with a net worth of 42 billion
dollars each. They are both the CEOs of Koch Industries, mainly based in oil and petroleum
production. (no relation to coca cola) Worth about $115 billion dollars, Koch Industries is the second
most profitable private company in America. Some of the most well known subsidiary brands include

Reporters speculate that their political beliefs were shaped by an anti Communist upbringing during
the McCarthy Era. Their father worked abroad with Soviet engineers in the 1930s, some of whom
were later brutally purged by Stalin. As a result of the violence, the elder Koch returned to America
staunchly anti communist, which undoubtedly contributed to his sons suspicions of big government.
The Kochs libertarian interests don t strictly follow either the Republican or Democratic ticket. The
brothers have contributed modest sums of money to liberal organizations, and voiced support for
things like gay marriage, abortion rights, and marijuana

and many more is the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu (one of the trinity god, the preserver), the
central figure of the epic Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas, in which Lord Rama is beautifully
portrayed.
Lord Rama took birth to free the world from cruelty and sins of the demon King Ravana, the King of
Lanka. Rama was the first son king Dashratha, the king of Ayodhya. Her mother was named Kausilya.
He had three brothers: Bharata (son of the second queen Kaikeyi), Laxshmana and Shatrughna (son of

While its use dates to about 2100/3000 BC in Sumerian, the educated and controlled use of the drug

Escape In Romantic Poetry
Repression and the Desire to Escape in Romantic Poetry
Romantic poetry encompasses many things, involving, but not limited to; nature, the sublime, and
strong senses of emotion. Many of the romantic poets wrote about nature, and how nature strongly
relates to that sense of emotion. Of course when you lack emotion, or you are struck with many
negative emotions, romantic poetry shows that nature itself is the remedy that you may require. Not
only does romantic poetry show that nature can cure, but it shows that an escape to nature is required
in order to understand it, and receive the cure that you seek. It shows that you must abandon your past
struggles, and learn to embrace nature. This begs the question; how does romantic poetry attempt to
show that nature is the cure to the issues that you currently face? Many of the romantic poets attempt
to show that through an escape to nature, you are able to become enlightened. William Wordsworth s
The Ruined Cottage exhibits a woman (Margaret) who is surrounded by romantics, which is used to
contrast that which are her struggles, and her lack of romanticism. This essay will look at the desire to
escape the struggles that the characters are facing through a romantic escape to nature. It will display
how Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage conveys a message of escapism to nature as a cure to hardship
through a character that fails to escape, as well as how John Keats Ode to a Nightingale shows a
character who succeeds with

Emigrant And Immigrants In The Kingdom Of The Netherlands
Over the years, the Netherlands has seen a massive influx of immigrants, both refugees and economic,
from all areas of the world. As a result, the current demographic of the Netherlands is characterized by
20% of the Dutch population [being] immigrants or children of immigrant parents (Ersanilli, 2007);
thus, for that reason the importance of this topic/problem is further elevated. Coming from Curacao, a
small island which forms part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as well as whose economy depends
on tourism and permanent migration, it is interesting to apply theories and empirical data to something
that I have accepted as the norm. For some, living in a nation state where migration is extremely
prevalent might not seem the norm, but for me it is; thus, it is compelling to see how this previous
knowledge can be applied on a global scale. In order to thoroughly cover the different aspects of
migration, the following points will be addressed: key definitions which aid in understanding of the
topic; types of migration; the push and pull factors of migration; and the impacts on the source and
destination countries. For the better understanding of this topic it is important to understand the
distinction between immigrant and emigrant, as well as internal and external migration. Immigrant
refers to someone who comes to a foreign country to live permanently, whereas a emigrant refers to an
individual who leaves their home country to then permanently reside in a foreign country. Similarly,
internal migration refers to people within a country moving to another location within its borders (e.g.
from one city to another), whereas external migration refers to the act of migration across borders (e.g.
from one country to another). Now that some key terms have been addressed, the types of migrants
will be illustrated. People migrate to different countries for various different reasons. This results in
the categorization of different migrants in relation to their reason for migrating, whether it be for
social or economic reasons. The types of migrants include the following: temporary labor migrants,
highly skilled migrants, irregular migrants, forced migrants, family reunification migrants, and return
migrants.

Abraham And The Early Journey Of The Formation Of Israel
Introduction
This world was created for a purpose. That purpose was to shine and reflect the majesty of the creator.
Faith is having a confident attitude toward God, involving commitment to His will for one s life and
that His plans are for our best and flow from His love for us. As we read through the Old and New
Testament of the bible we see how the men of God are described living by their faith.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) ... 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of
these is love.
Body
Though we could look at many of the Bible accounts from Adam to Noah, Noah to Abraham,
Abraham to David or David to Jesus, we will primarily focus on Abraham and the early journey of the
formation of Israel. The same principles can be found in all of these periods. God s promise to
Abraham was he would become the father of many nations. Abraham s obedience to God allow him to
experience the Love of God by trusting God at his word. When God asked Abraham to take Isaac his
son, Genesis 22:2 (NKJV) Then he said, Take now your son your only son Isaac, whom you love and
go to the land Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will
tell you. . Abraham obeyed God and while on the journey Isaac asked Abraham, where the Lamb was
for the sacrifice Abraham answered God will provide and this is where you see Abraham s faith in
God. Works of obedience evidence this faith, which God actually identifies as righteousness. We see

Analysis Of Divergent As A Dystopian Film
Respond critically to significant connections across texts, supported by evidence.
Throughout all four of my dystopian films a strong theme that has been brought to the surface is the
idea of individuality is the enemy . As a dystopian film is an illusion of the perfect society, they go
hand in hand. The illusion of a perfect society is typically maintained through the use of corporate
bodies and entities. Dystopian films are typical to play on the worst case scenario of a situation, within
the four films studied Divergent, Macbeth, V for Vendetta and Mokingjay part 2, the worst case
scenario is seen when the government takes control and citizens are under constant supervision or fear

These are all themes that relate to homicides, people are generally killed when they have more power
than someone else or they simply don t want to deal with the problem anymore. It is in this movie that
we see Tris and Four defeat the system, they firstly defeat the system through their manner, the fact
that they are able to confront their deepest fears and are able to see through the idea of a perfect
society. Divergent s also work out that you don t need to be paired with people that share the mutual
hate that you have towards another faction in this case. Tris and Four manipulate the system as they
can see that the government has split up everyone so that they don t unite and combine all of their skill
sets. This is why we see that the government purposely divides people to stop them from combining
their skill sets and becoming more powerful than the government. Showing how Tris and four are
feared to the government and displaying individuality is the enemy.
This relates to the homicide rate in Chicago in the current world as the year that Tris and Four
defeated the system the homicides in real life decreased. Showing that the homicide rate in Chicago

There are many different ways in which Christians celebrate Holy Communion, depending on the
denomination of Christianity, in which they belong. Holy Communion is one of the seven sacraments
found in Christianity. A sacrament is an outward physical act with an inward, deeper meaning, which
can be obtained through various, specific rituals. In the case of Holy Communion, which is also
known as the Eucharist meal or Mass, Christian worshippers believe that they receive the body and the
blood of Jesus Christ, through the act of eating the bread, which symbolises Christ s body, and by
drinking the wine, said to be his blood. This sacrament originates back to ... Show more content on

God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the good of all people and so that they too would depart from the
slavery and the submission to sins and wrongdoings, in order to enter into a pure state of forgiveness
and freedom. This is the key reason why Christians, of all branches, hold a great importance to Holy
Communion, which remembers Christ s sacrifice to them, which frees them of their sins up till this
day.
Even though, most, if not all Christian denominations agree about the origins of such a ritual, they
now have different opinions about how the service is conducted. The Roman Catholic Church believes
in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the belief that the bread and wine that they consume at the
Eucharist meal, has over the years, mystically transformed into Jesus real body and blood. Roman
Catholics celebrate Holy Communion or Mass regularly. Roman Catholics believe that the Mass is a
sacrifice. Each time it is celebrated Christ renews the sacrifice that he made for the sins of the world
when he was crucified. This is why they frequently celebrate it. In some Churches, only people who
have been confirmed are allowed to participate in the celebration of Holy Communion, whereas in the
Roman Catholic Church there is no such restriction. This emphasises how Jesus had welcomed
everybody in his own life and had treated everyone

Examples Of Policy Change In America
(A) Examples of policy change in America would be the elections. If we elect a new president we
create a sense of policy change due to the new president aspiring to accomplish one thing different on
their agenda, even if the new president remains in the same political party as the previous president.
The campaigning candidates usually listen to their respective public opinion, thus promising certain
things in order to get them elected. If the elected president fulfills the wishes of public opinion, then
we partake in policy change. (B) Women are more likely than men to: Favor an activist role for

Leasing vs Financing (Leasing vs Buying) Essay
Leasing vs Financing (Leasing vs Buying)
When it comes the time to find a car to drive or a place to live, how do you decide whether to lease or
to finance? Chances are most people tend to investigate what the monthly payments would be and
choose whichever is cheaper. But do you ever stop to think of all the things that should be a part of
your decision? Did you know there are websites out there to help you determine how much you can
afford? What your monthly payment would be? There is a lot of information available to you to help
make this process an easier one for you. Since finding the right car is something most people do

If you answered yes to more than three of these questions then leasing may be for you. But remember
with all the positive aspect of leasing come negative ones too. The most important negative to leasing
is that at the end of your lease term you must decide whether to turn in the car and walk away or buy
the car and take it back home with you. Many people struggle with this decision because neither
decision is easy. If you turn it in, you have to get it inspected for any damages or wear and tear on the

any excessive wear and tear you have to pay for. Then come miles, when leasing a car you should

The World Of International Relations
Just as this book serves as a great introduction to the world of international relations, the first chapter
does a great job of exploring what the book will cover. It covers the many viewpoints of international
relations. There are many concepts and terms that the chapter covers which can help one understand
politics. Some of these key concepts are cognitive dissonance, mirror images, and enduring rivalries.
Many key terms that increase one s knowledge of world politics that are covered in this chapter are
actors, power, and sovereignty. World politics can affect us more than we may think. In the siege of
Lebanon during the 1982 Lebanon War a US backed Israeli army gave Osama Bin Laden inspiration

International organizations and courts were even established. Sadly these organizations did not hold
up in the years following their creation. The rather quick demise of liberalism contributed to World
War II which would go on to have massive effects on the world for years to come. In chapter three the
many theories of international decision making are covered. There are many influences on the
decision making process and they are the current global conditions, internal characteristics of the state,
and an actor s leadership. The three models of decision making are also covered and they are decision
making as a rational choice, bureaucratic politics, and impactful leaders. There are also factors,
domestic and global, that affect policy decisions and they include military capabilities, economic
conditions, types of government, global distribution of power, and geopolitical powers. In 1962 during
the Cuban missile crisis President Kennedy was faced with a situation that, if handled wrong, could
end the world. When deciding on proper responses he would have to consider many of the factors that
are discussed in the chapter like military capabilities. Thankfully Kennedy considered the factors and
decided on actions that would not lead to a conflict with the Soviet Union. Rivalries and relations of
the great powers are explored in chapter four. It begins by explaining long cycle theory and hegemons.
Then the causes and consequences of world war

Life Insurance Beneficies
Typically, people who need to provide for others after death will purchase a life insurance policy.
Although there are many types of life insurance policies, the common thread between them are
beneficiary designations. In simple terms, once the policy holder perishes, the listed beneficiary will
receive the proceeds from the policy. However, listing beneficiaries on a life insurance policy needs
careful attention for reasons mentioned in the article List Your Beneficiaries Wisely in Your Estate
Plan. Otherwise, after death, unintended consequences may occur. So, to avoid unintended
consequences, properly listing beneficiaries on a life insurance policy is essential.

2) Setup a trust for the children and name a trusted adult as the trustee. In the trust, list the children as
the beneficiaries. To use this option, list the trust as the beneficiary of the life insurance policy. This
will allow the trustee to manage the proceeds for the children s benefit.
Finally, to avoid bureaucratic methods, simply list a trustworthy adult as beneficiary to the life
insurance policy, if possible. Typically, when estate planning for minor children, people usually name
a guardian. In this scenario, list the guardian as the beneficiary to the life insurance policy. If you are

Yesterday, I watched the concert band rehearse for their district concert which took place later that

However, the Liberty Bell March was executed much better in comparison to Star Wars: The March,
as the former appeared to be slightly easier for the band to play. For instance, the Liberty Bell March
by Sousa was the first piece that the musicians performed. This song from the late romantic period and

dynamics throughout the march were overall good, but the pianissimo sections could be quieter. The

Conflicting Perspectives Julius Caesar
Conflicting perspectives are the direct result of bias or self interest as people are always quick to
enforce the correctness of their perspective over those of others, by contrasting their perspectives with
others, they seek to advantage their own point of view opposed to the viewpoints of others.
Conflicting perspectives are caused by bias, or prejudice, and self interest from a person, event or
situation that is encountered. William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar and Philadelphia (1993), written by
Ron Nyswaner and directed by Jonathan Demme, are both prime examples of when bias and self

Similarily, Mark Antonty s conflicting perspective is driven by bias and self interest, more than
anything else. Antony s private and public nature shows a conflicting perspective. Towards the
beginning of the play, Antony is depicted as passionate, loyal, loving and noble. This is shown in Act 1
scene two, when Antony refers to Caesar as my lord . This shows his loyal to Caesar. I shall
remember: When Caesar says Do this , it is performed. This quote defines Antony s loyalty for his
friend Caesar. While speaking with Antony, Caesar speaks of his fear of Cassius. Antony shows his
loving nature of Caesar to show comfort and support. Fear him not, Caesar, he s not dangerous, He is
a noble Roman and well given. The dramatic irony is uncovered throughout the play as Cassius is
plotting to kill Caesar. The epithet of noble Roman becomes irony as Cassius plot is exposed and his
nobleness is lost. The extensive use of emotive language throughout Antony s funeral orotaion
displays his caring nature and depicts a noble man. However, the anaphora of the irony of Brutus says
he was ambitious, and Brutus is an honourable man... juxtaposed, again with his loving nature, with

Grendel Vs Beowulf
The story of Beowulf has been told for centuries all over Europe. However, there is one problem with
recreating the story and making it into a movie; each movie has a different plot line, theme, or
character back story. The differences in the movies may or may not have a large effect on the overall
story, but it does show how much stories can change just by the person that is telling the story.
For instance, in the first movie we watched, Beowulf 2005, Grendel was a troll whose mother was a
sea beast and his father was a troll. In Beowulf 2005, Grendel spoke using a series of grunting noises
and spoke very little English. In the second movie Beowulf 2007, Grendel was a monster whose
mother was a sea beast, but his father was King Hrothgar. This time Grendel communicated by
speaking in old English. These differences are very minuscule, but they had a large impact on the
ending of each movie. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Argumentative Essay On Learning And Learning
Children can learn about the world through reading material, whether that instruction is intended or
not by the author, and whether the instruction is overt or relatively hidden. From cautionary, moral
tales of old to modern problem novels and books for children about life issues, authors show and
explain the world to the next generation. Matilda grew up in a family, where they did not value
education or learning. While her parents went to work, she stayed home and was expected to watch
TV or do nothing. Instead, she walked to the library and read books everyday. She learned many
things from reading and begged her father if she could attend school like other kids her age. She read
about history, law and many other educational topics that she could be learning if she was in school.
Children are sponges for information around them. Children gather this information from a variety of

Concert Review
I attended this concert at CU Denver s King Center, Concert Hall. Although the architectural design
and surrounding did not attest to much artistic creativity, the actual concert was better than my
expectations. I did have lower expectations because it was presented by students instead of
professional musicians or dancers as in my last concert review. The ensemble, a collaborative outcome
from MSU Denver and other dance/cultural music groups from denver, was actually a mix of African
and Indian/East Asian music and dance. The two teams alternated between each other giving the

which she later used in the performance. The dance was accompanied by an Indian chant like song

Yasser Arafat In The Move Toward a Palestinian State
Yasser Arafat was born into a Palestinian family in Egypt in 1929. Even in his early life he began
fighting from age eighteen onwards, first the British, then the Israelis. At the age of thirty he founded a
magazine in 1959 which aimed to create and identity for the Palestinians living in camps. This was a
good way of giving the people publicity and also shows that his original motives when he was young
were good.

He gained respect for the Palestinian cause.
Apparently realising his tactics were ineffective; in 1974 he opted for a new strategy. He was allowed
to access the UN claiming I have come bearing an olive branch and a freedom fighter s gun. Do not let
the olive branch fall from my hand. This quote sums up Arafat s ambivalence. He claims he wants
peace but if that requires terror, he seems prepared for anything. However the fact that he mentioned
the olive branch, a symbol for peace, gave good publicity for the cause and this was also the first time
a Palestinian had managed to speak to the UN so this was an important step in the fight for a
Palestinian state because there would be a chance for discussion.
In 1982 Israel attacked the Lebanon and Arafat fled. His leadership was weak but the upshot of the
attacks was support gained from various parties. In 1987 Arafat seemed to change his tactics once
more, making him look all the more fickle and unstable. He announced Intifada and at last respected
the right for Israel to exist and renounced terror. At the time this showed that Arafat wanted to gain
international respect and again would allow discussion, the possibility of peace and a move towards a

Racial Discrimination
In America special arrangement of conditions prompted the subjugation of individuals who seem to
look similar. The idea of race gives reason as to why people are denied rights and opportunities,
especially since the economy was dependent on slavery. Racial injustices have been considered
natural and justified. There s a lot of overlap between groups. There isn t a single gene, trait, or
characteristic that distinguishes all the members of one race from all the members of another. Again,
this is because categories are socially constructed, so there are inconsistencies in the way different
groups are defined. If you change criteria, people fall into different groups. The idea that race isn t
biological goes against one of our most fundamental assumptions: that there are meaningful, natural
divisions between groups of people. Certainly people look different, but as it turns out, appearances
can be deceiving.
You can t draw any conclusions about those groups beyond what you used to sort people in the first
place. Biologically speaking, traits are inherited non concordantly, which means they are inherited
independently, rather than packaged together. If you know one thing about someone, it doesn t
necessarily tell you anything else about them, so it doesn t make sense to talk about group race
characteristics. we must overcome centuries of inequality before we can unmake it pretending that
race doesn t exist or matter is not the same as treating people equally. Without data on

William Shakespeare wrote a group of 154 sonnets between 1592 and 1597, which were compiled and
published under the title Shakespeare s Sonnets in 1609. Our attention will focus on sonnet 12, a
remarkable and poignant poem about the relentless passing of time, the fading beauty, immortality,
death and Old Age, these subjects being typical of all Shakespeare s Sonnets.
Time is omnipresent in everyone s life, just passing and passing inexorably, relentlessly, so
unstoppable. It is a universal problem : people have always been very worried about time, trying to
gain some, or angry they have lost this precious element. Moreover, Time is Money , maxim born in

In the same way, the day looks already defeated, but it tries, unlike the I , to fight, as suggest the
adjective brave , introducing a notion of combat. However, this is not the only meaning of this word,
brave being polysemic : it has almost a visual significance, evoking brightness and gallantry. Thus,
Shakespeare joins an attracting adjective to the day , to finally make it appear even more vulnerable
and pathetic, thanks to hideous night . This opposition between brave day and hideous night
emphasizes the day s weakness against the night, literally sinking in the night. This verb, sink,
represents a long action and gives us the idea that we cannot discern the limits between day and night,
we cannot point out this is day , this is night . It is something we are not aware of, we cannot see
happening, until night has completely taken the place. This domination and hopeless fight could
imply, by extension, that any struggle in life is a useless task. The violet is also under time control : it
is once at its prime state, at springtime best, being emblematic of Spring and new growth, but then
soon fades and dies. Here is presented the decaying of nature and furthermore of human, as violet is
like a human being : once at its prime, then dying. Shakespeare presents us the same kind of image in

history as a back handed comment to the Plantagenet of the time Queen Elizabeth I, a Tudor. Maurice

felt it followed her father and the charges brought against him too closely(Hunt). Without the
historical context brought by the Maurice Hunt, this would be lost on me. This furthers the image of
Shakespeare as he showed the thorn on the rose instead of the flower when he delivered this play,

time and most monarchs do not like having their authority challenge. Going on with how Richard III

African American Athletes s Influence On Society
Over the past 50 years, the views on African American basketball players by society has dramatically
changed. As African Americans have gained rights, athletes have continued to influence society. Since
then, the influence these star players have had on society has become overwhelming. African
American basketball players have gone from being quarantined from the league, to becoming children
s icons. African Americans players were forced to create their own leagues and teams in order to play
professionally. As a result of this, the world famous Harlem Globetrotters were created. The
Globetrotters still have a lasting impact on society up to this date. During the 1950s, when African
Americans began to enter the NBA, white players feared they would be harmful to the league. In the
1970s, just after the ABA and NBA merger, the NBA nearly ended as a result of the lack of fan
interest. White fans disliked the black game and emerging black stars. In just a ten year period, the
views towards these dominant players completely changed, as players like Magic Johnson and
Michael Jordan completely revolutionized the game. These stars forced the public to watch the games,
and appreciate these players. In addition to transforming the league, the views towards African
Americans by the rest of society changed as well as a result of these players. Along the way on this
arduous journey, African Americans successfully transformed American culture and had an everlasting
impact on society.

New Atlantis By William Harvey
London, in the seventeenth century, underwent a progressive epistemological shift. In this period, the
intellectual paradigm slowly transitioned from a model wherein religious dogma, mysticism, and class
structure were the progenitors of thought to a model wherein scientific empiricism informed
discovery. Although there was a conflict between these ideological frameworks, we should not see this
confrontation of epistemologies as an overt and adversarial crisis of thought. Rather, the people
responsible for confronting the antique with the scientific often attempted to consolidate their
ideologies with those ideologies they were subtly challenging; they attempted to act within the
framework which they rejected. In this essay, we will explore this nearly contradictory sentiment by
examining four scientific works: On the Motion of the Heart, by William Harvey, Micrographia, by
Robert Hooke, New Atlantis and The Great Instauration, by Francis Bacon, and 153 Chymical
Aphorisms, by Chr. Packe. These four texts emerged from three distinct modes of scientific inquiry:

The fictional utopian society of Bensalem which Bacon is concerned with is in many ways a highly
traditional society. The first priority of the society, for instance, is not the acquisition of empirical
knowledge, but rather adherence to a Christian dogma. When Bacon asked the governor of Bensalem
how his culture came to embrace Christianity, the governor responds, Ye knit my heart to you, by
asking this question in the first place; for it sheweth that you first seek the kingdom of heaven. With
this quote, Bacon established that notions of divinity and salvation supercede any question of
knowledge attainment, and he therefore operated within Christian power

History of Terrell State Mental Hospital
Agency and Role Paper
By: Teresa Luna
University of Phoenix
June 14, 2010
Ms. Becky Brown
Introduction There are many governmental agencies within the healthcare system. One of most
interesting and heart wrenching agencies is a local governmental agency called Terrell State Mental
Hospital. This agency is well known in the state of Texas for its carefree healthcare. They have a
longstanding relationship with the families of its patients and are a major contributor to the city of
Terrell s financial windfall. They produce over ten million a year for the city of Terrell, which allows
this city to take care of its mental inpatients and make sure they have the best treatment possible.

Contributions also come from families of the inpatients. The voluntary contributions in this city are
amazing. They really know how to make this city shine. It s like a true Texan to show their winning
attitudes by giving back to the economy and being generous with their money.
Programs Available
This hospital is operated under the direction of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental
Retardation. They offer their services to people within a twenty two county, 14,622 square mile area
including Bowie, Dallas, and Kaufman Counties. According to the Chamber of Commerce (2009),
their services are offered to children 6 to 12 years of age, adolescence ages 12 to 18 and adults.
Programs include acute care, an intensive behavioral program, medical services, forensic care for
inmates of state correctional institutions intermediate care, a cottage program for adult life skills and a
research center.
Local Agencies vs. National and State Agencies The three of these agencies have different aspects of
treatment for disease. The national and state agencies usually focus on locating and making the public
aware of possible outbreaks such as a rising number of cases of encephalitis. They announce to the
public where and when to stay tuned for information on what is the next step for information on what
is the next step or what they need to do to obtain an immunization or where

Environmental Ethics And Aldo Leopold s Land Ethics
Wolves certainly are one of the most beautiful and high in the food chain predators. And it was almost
30,000 BCE when mankind first decided to change those creatures path: we domesticated then, used
them for transportation and, today, we call their latest offspring our best friends. If we treat our
puppies like human babies nowadays, some almost a hundred years ago we were barbaric in our way
to treat Yellowstone National Park s wolves: we decimated the park s wolf population with the goal to
protect park s visitors. What was clearly an anthropocentrist act is now being corrected by the
reintroduction of wild wolves into the park s ecosystem; based on Aldo Leopold s Land Ethics, I
believe that choice was an assertive one. Humans should do everything in their power to exercise their
unique rationalization capacity by valuing other creatures and promoting the equilibrium between men
and nature. As a trained forester who went through the Great Depression od 1929, Aldo Leopold
avidly wrote about all the ways he believed humans had failed nature in the exploitation of its
resources; he was the first one who discussed the importance of respecting nature and keeping it wild.
For this reason, the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy points the author as the father of all
environmental ethics; his writings influenced all the biggest discussions of expansion of intrinsic value
to any form of life and non living things, that is, theories against anthropocentrism ( Environmental

The Role Of Religion In The English Colonies
Religion s Role in the Development of the English Colonies
Religion is one of the fundamental aspects of society. Unfortunately, it is also one of the sparks that
can start a war and revolutionize the way we think and certain civilizations traditions. For example,
before the Spaniards came to the Central and Southern Americas the Incas had their own religion, but
once they were conquered they were forced to convert to Christianity. The Incans had to abandon their
way of life and traditions or face punishment. This, along with the near extinction of the race, caused
them to lose their beliefs over time. On the other side, religion can also lead to the birth of a new
civilization different from the rest, the Americans . Unlike other countries, the United States is a
melting pot where people of different ethnic backgrounds, faiths, lifestyles, cultures, and races come
together. And this is where it all started.
In 1492, Christopher Columbus reached the Americas on the orders of King Ferdinand and Queen
Isabella of Spain. King Ferdinand sent him to claim land and riches for Spain, while Queen Isabella
requested that he help spread Christianity. From then on, many missionaries were sent to convert the
Natives. This is one example of how religion shaped the Americas.
King Henry the Eighth divorced his wife and switched England s religion to the Protestant Church in
1534 when he renounced the pope (as the head of the church). After some time, the Catholics were
tired of

  • 2. The Role Of Accounting And Possible Future Of Accountancy... Introduction Traditionally, accounting has a role to play in preparing financial reports, and tax preparation manually (Zodage, 2015). According to World Report s Best Jobs (2014, cited in Hood (2014)), the accountancy was recognised as the third rank of the best professionals, and it is one in all careers having high demand (Hood, 2014). Nevertheless, the business practices and the environment have continuously changed and reshaped aspects of the accountancy profession (Wolters Kluwer, 2014). Some critics argued that services relating to accounting will be inevitably replaced by technology (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, 2015). Conversely, others believe that this career will still exist; however, the role of accountants will be altered along with the changing in the business environment (Towers, 2015). This report will present the crucial factors impacting the traditional approach of professional accounting and possible future of accountancy. Factors Disrupting Accounting Profession in the Future ● The development of technology Advanced technologies are crucial factors causing a major change in accounting areas (Guthrie Parker, 2016). Since the development of technology will certainly grow, accountants will obtain various benefits from embracing it. For example, cloud based technology allows the professionals to adopt cheaper software, access to mobility of workplace and obtain real time data (Nixon, 2015). In contrast, Nixon ... Rhodes Must Fall Movement Essay The following essay will be discussing and analysing the Rhodes Must Fall movement which was created and encouraged by students at the University of Cape Town in response to The Johannesburg Salon Vol 9. Throughout this essay, I will be sympathising with the students that formed the movement, but will also be making a critical observation. The Rhodes Must Fall Movement was created by the students in order for black students to feel like they belong and included in the university, as well as for equality for black students and students of colour within UCT. On the 9th of March 2015, a student from UCT threw human excrement at the statue of Cecil John Rhodes on campus at the university. By doing so, the student ignited the beginning of student ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Decolonisation can be defined as a process which always was and will continue to be a violent process. This is due to the fact that one man will be replacing another using the same force that was used to colonise them (Fanon, 2001). Decolonisation can be described as being a process of complete disorder as it is when two or more conflicting forces meet one another. These opposing forces will have their own beliefs as well as different ways of doing certain tasks (Fanon, 2001). The movement of Rhodes Must Fall is exactly that. During the movement, violence is seen when human excrement is thrown at the statue of Cecil John Rhodes. Another representation of violence is the sudden outbreak of one of the leaders and the vandalism that was present. Although Fanon states that violence will always be a part of the decolonisation process, I do not believe that we should associate and include violence when standing up for what we believe in, as this may infringe on peoples human rights if one does not feel safe in a certain situation where violence is a prominent ... The location of this barricade was in Rue Visconti, Paris, between Rue Bonaparte and Rue de Seine. Rue Visconti is a one way street that is 140 meters long and 3 meters wide. They used oil barrels and put them up on June 27, 1962. Christo and Jeanne Claude worked together on the barricade, taking a total of eight hours to get it all done. The iron/steel oil barrels were stacked on top of each other, forming a wall/barricade of some sort. Christo and Jeanne Claude left all the barrels exactly they way were, they didn t even change the colors of them. They also kept the brand of the barrel and the rust on them visible. The barricade took up 488.26800 feet (13.7 x 13.2 x 2.7). There was a total of 89 barrels used to create the art. Analysis: The wall of oil barrels appear to be some balance. As I have discussed a little bit earlier that the instrumentation for this music scores, unlike traditional orchestra music, it mostly uses strings. Even though there are no brasses and percussions (usually play the lower register and bass melody) in the film, I think Bernard Herrmann used the strings in a way that they are the whole orchestra. He used the double basses and cellos to play out the bottom line of melody and the violins and violas to play the upper melody. He is using the string ensemble but creates the sounding effect of a whole orchestra. As we discussed during class last week that most composers back into that time prefer to use more neo romantic style music; however, this music score definitely has nothing relate to romantic style. It is dissonant as I said before, and creates lots of tensions but it does not resolve, and I feel like that is one big thing that makes it different from classical music, and obviously, it applies many uses of atonality. Escape In Romantic Poetry Repression and the Desire to Escape in Romantic Poetry Romantic poetry encompasses many things, involving, but not limited to; nature, the sublime, and strong senses of emotion. Many of the romantic poets wrote about nature, and how nature strongly relates to that sense of emotion. Of course when you lack emotion, or you are struck with many negative emotions, romantic poetry shows that nature itself is the remedy that you may require. Not only does romantic poetry show that nature can cure, but it shows that an escape to nature is required in order to understand it, and receive the cure that you seek. It shows that you must abandon your past struggles, and learn to embrace nature. This begs the question; how does romantic poetry attempt to show that nature is the cure to the issues that you currently face? Many of the romantic poets attempt to show that through an escape to nature, you are able to become enlightened. William Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage exhibits a woman (Margaret) who is surrounded by romantics, which is used to contrast that which are her struggles, and her lack of romanticism. This essay will look at the desire to escape the struggles that the characters are facing through a romantic escape to nature. As a result, the current demographic of the Netherlands is characterized by 20% of the Dutch population [being] immigrants or children of immigrant parents (Ersanilli, 2007); thus, for that reason the importance of this topic/problem is further elevated. Coming from Curacao, a small island which forms part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as well as whose economy depends on tourism and permanent migration, it is interesting to apply theories and empirical data to something that I have accepted as the norm. For some, living in a nation state where migration is extremely prevalent might not seem the norm, but for me it is; thus, it is compelling to see how this previous knowledge can be applied on a global scale. In order to thoroughly cover the different aspects of migration, the following points will be addressed: key definitions which aid in understanding of the topic; types of migration; the push and pull factors of migration; and the impacts on the source and destination countries. For the better understanding of this topic it is important to understand the distinction between immigrant and emigrant, as well as internal and external migration. Immigrant refers to someone who comes to a foreign country to live permanently, whereas a emigrant refers to an individual who leaves their home country to then permanently reside in a foreign country. Similarly, internal migration refers to people within a country moving to another location within its borders (e.g. from one city to another), whereas external migration refers to the act of migration across borders (e.g. from one country to another). Now that some key terms have been addressed, the types of migrants will be illustrated. People migrate to different countries for various different reasons. This results in the categorization of different migrants in relation to their reason for migrating, whether it be for social or economic reasons. The types of migrants include the following: temporary labor migrants, highly skilled migrants, irregular migrants, forced migrants, family reunification migrants, and return migrants. ... Body Though we could look at many of the Bible accounts from Adam to Noah, Noah to Abraham, Abraham to David or David to Jesus, we will primarily focus on Abraham and the early journey of the formation of Israel. In chapter three the many theories of international decision making are covered. There are many influences on the decision making process and they are the current global conditions, internal characteristics of the state, and an actor s leadership. The three models of decision making are also covered and they are decision making as a rational choice, bureaucratic politics, and impactful leaders. There are also factors, domestic and global, that affect policy decisions and they include military capabilities, economic conditions, types of government, global distribution of power, and geopolitical powers. In 1962 during the Cuban missile crisis President Kennedy was faced with a situation that, if handled wrong, could end the world. When deciding on proper responses he would have to consider many of the factors that are discussed in the chapter like military capabilities. Thankfully Kennedy considered the factors and decided on actions that would not lead to a conflict with the Soviet Union. Rivalries and relations of the great powers are explored in chapter four. It begins by explaining long cycle theory and hegemons. Then the causes and consequences of world war ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Racial Discrimination In America special arrangement of conditions prompted the subjugation of individuals who seem to look similar. The idea of race gives reason as to why people are denied rights and opportunities, especially since the economy was dependent on slavery. Racial injustices have been considered natural and justified. There s a lot of overlap between groups. There isn t a single gene, trait, or characteristic that distinguishes all the members of one race from all the members of another. Again, this is because categories are socially constructed, so there are inconsistencies in the way different groups are defined. If you change criteria, people fall into different groups. The idea that race isn t biological goes against one of our most fundamental assumptions: that there are meaningful, natural divisions between groups of people. Certainly people look different, but as it turns out, appearances can be deceiving. You can t draw any conclusions about those groups beyond what you used to sort people in the first place. Biologically speaking, traits are inherited non concordantly, which means they are inherited independently, rather than packaged together. If you know one thing about someone, it doesn t necessarily tell you anything else about them, so it doesn t make sense to talk about group race characteristics. we must overcome centuries of inequality before we can unmake it pretending that race doesn t exist or matter is not the same as treating people equally. Thus, Shakespeare joins an attracting adjective to the day , to finally make it appear even more vulnerable and pathetic, thanks to hideous night . In this period, the intellectual paradigm slowly transitioned from a model wherein religious dogma, mysticism, and class structure were the progenitors of thought to a model wherein scientific empiricism informed discovery. Although there was a conflict between these ideological frameworks, we should not see this confrontation of epistemologies as an overt and adversarial crisis of thought. Rather, the people responsible for confronting the antique with the scientific often attempted to consolidate their ideologies with those ideologies they were subtly challenging; they attempted to act within the framework which they rejected. In this essay, we will explore this nearly contradictory sentiment by examining four scientific works: On the Motion of the Heart, by William Harvey, Micrographia, by Robert Hooke, New Atlantis and The Great Instauration, by Francis Bacon, and 153 Chymical Aphorisms, by Chr. And it was almost 30,000 BCE when mankind first decided to change those creatures path: we domesticated then, used them for transportation and, today, we call their latest offspring our best friends. If we treat our puppies like human babies nowadays, some almost a hundred years ago we were barbaric in our way to treat Yellowstone National Park s wolves: we decimated the park s wolf population with the goal to protect park s visitors. What was clearly an anthropocentrist act is now being corrected by the reintroduction of wild wolves into the park s ecosystem; based on Aldo Leopold s Land Ethics, I believe that choice was an assertive one. Humans should do everything in their power to exercise their unique rationalization capacity by valuing other creatures and promoting the equilibrium between men and nature. As a trained forester who went through the Great Depression od 1929, Aldo Leopold avidly wrote about all the ways he believed humans had failed nature in the exploitation of its resources; he was the first one who discussed the importance of respecting nature and keeping it wild. • 47. The Role Of Religion In The English Colonies Religion s Role in the Development of the English Colonies Religion is one of the fundamental aspects of society. Unfortunately, it is also one of the sparks that can start a war and revolutionize the way we think and certain civilizations traditions. For example, before the Spaniards came to the Central and Southern Americas the Incas had their own religion, but once they were conquered they were forced to convert to Christianity. The Incans had to abandon their way of life and traditions or face punishment. This, along with the near extinction of the race, caused them to lose their beliefs over time. On the other side, religion can also lead to the birth of a new civilization different from the rest, the Americans . Unlike other countries, the United States is a melting pot where people of different ethnic backgrounds, faiths, lifestyles, cultures, and races come together. And this is where it all started. In 1492, Christopher Columbus reached the Americas on the orders of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain.
