Sarcophagus With Battle Scene
Since moving here to Texas, I haven t explored around as much as I wanted to. For the first time, I
visited Downtown Dallas and let me tell you.. It was amazing!! I was born in Colombia but was raised
in Charlotte, NC so it was really nice to feel like I was home. I went to Dallas Art Museum in
downtown Dallas. The museum was humongous!! I think it was about 5 6 stories high or maybe more!
When I walked in with my friend this nice lady approached us and gave us a tour around and gave us
some lessons of the art we were interested in. She took us to the Egyptian art which I thought was
pretty awesome but also scary because one art piece was a coffin so I am thinking ok a coffin not so
scary but when she told me to look closely.... I saw feet!! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the sculpture you could see horses being stabbed and laying desperately dead on the floor. You
could see men crying out for help and the bodies of men on the ground. Also, you can see men
fighting for their lives in that bloody war scene. In the art piece you can see the amount of detail in
every piece including the horses, the armour, and the captives. Each piece has emotion, you can feel
the pain, anger and the helplessness on each piece. I say in which this was done during the Roman
period it had to be about war. I thought since it was traditionally Roman it had to depict a great battle
with the Romans and their foe. The romans are heavily aromoured and riding on horses while the
people they are fighting are either naked or wearing a simple toga. The nice lady that guided me stated
that this was most likely created to portray the wars Rome fought with the Germanic tribesmen along
the Danube frontier in what now are Romania and Hungary. The Sarcophagus in this painting is
showing off the great triumphs of a general as a war hero throughout his life. During that time, Death
was not mourned, it was celebrated by their life and the accomplishments that they have been able to
do throughout their life. That s what the painting shows, the battle scene depicted here was created
because the man probably with to identify his life and career with well known Greek scenes of
military. Although, the art piece represented war in a

factors you might consider when making your decision. (2 4 sentences. 2.0 points) Some non price

probably, first off, brand name. I myself prefer mac, so i would factor brands in. Another thing i would
factor in is how well it handles i guess you could say. something i would be comfortable using and
would know how to use. 10. Describe a real or made up but realistic example of a product that went
through a time of scarcity, when demand was greater than the supply. What is the product, and why do
you think it became scarce? What happened to the price of the product when it was scarce? (3 6
sentences. 2.0 points) A real product that is going through a time of scarcity is wood pellets. There is a
high demand for them but they re super tricky to get especially with winter being almost over. Very
little places still sell pellets. They re becoming scarce because like i said before winter is almost over
and you usually use a bag of pellets a day to heat your house, and so everyone;s going through them

Renewable Energy Is Our Future Energy Sources
Current Events Essay: Renewable Resources Are Our Future Energy Sources
Renewable energy resources are our future energy sources and great strides are being made by using
these energy applications to improve the environmental impact towards protecting Earth. Hossain,
K.A. writes in The Journal of Fundamental Renewable Energy and Applications that there are
basically three sources of energy: fossil fuel, nuclear fuel, and renewable fuel sources (Hossain).
Fossil fuels are being used up, nuclear fuel must be created, but renewable fuel can be regenerated.
Renewable energy includes select natural resources, recyclable materials, alternative fuels, bio
refineries, solid biomass, and innovative clean energy (Maczulak). Sources of renewable energy are
being used to convert wind, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, biomass, and solar energy into electricity
that can be used to power our world. Renewable energy is constantly being replenished (Hossain).
Renewable energy is available in plenty and by far most the cleanest sources of energy available on
this planet (Hossain). Progress is being made in each of the areas of renewable energy to improve it
and make it usable and accessible to the general public.
Undoubtedly, the study of natural energy and renewable energy has been around for centuries,
nevertheless we are currently seeing tremendous growth in innovations and availability of renewable
energy. The discovery of electricity dates back to Benjamin Franklin, however

Expectationships And Personal Relationships
People are relational and communicative human beings who, often, fail at being relational and
communicative with other human beings, such as their life partners. Humans enter relationships for
multitudes of reasons, but most are searching for someone to love and build a life with. However,
people have different concepts of what a life together constitutes. When people begin to build a
relationship with a partner they bring a variety of expectations into the partnership. These expectations
may apply to one, the other, or both members of the relationship and they may, or may not, be in
accordance to the expectations that the other person has brought into the relationship. Expectations
can complicate or simplify relationships; similarly, expectations can make or break relationships. My
husband and I have been together for over seven years, but married a little over one year. My husband
and I s changing relational dynamic has been evaluated through both of us taking the Household
Survey. The discussion that followed showed that we disagree about the division of household chores
and aspects of our future family, but we have similar perspectives about our finances. As shown in the
survey, Cade and I disagree about the division of various household chores, such as dishes, grocery
shopping, laundry, and cleaning the house. Before we got married both Cade and I knew that we were
not the most organized or chore focused people. When we are together we would rather enjoy the

The Bolsheviks and the Tragedy of the October Revolution...
The Bolsheviks and the Tragedy of the October Revolution
The majority of the people are with us. The majority of the working and oppressed people all over the
world are with us. Ours is the cause of justice. Our victory is assured. 1
October was a classic coup d état, the capture of governmental power by a small minority, carried out
without mass engagement. 2
The October Revolution was perhaps the most momentous event of the twentieth century. It led to the
creation of the Soviet Union, the first avowedly Communist nation in history, which was to become a
global superpower, an inspiration to many, an object of the hatred of many more. Possibly more
important was the role the memory of the October Revolution played in the ... Show more content on

The October Revolution was interpreted quite differently by those hostile to the Communist leaders of
the Soviet Union. In their top down histories of the Russian Revolution the common people appeared
as the passive objects of the evil machinations of the Bolsheviks. 4 The Bolsheviks cynically adopted
populist and anarchist slogans in order to recruit the masses as foot soldiers in their own quest for
power. If any apparent support for the October Revolution was seen among the masses, it was the
product of ignorance, skilled propaganda and a supple improvisation by the Bolsheviks themselves,
who transformed their elite operation into a temporary mass organization 5 to seduce the Russian
masses. The socialist reality of October was imaginary, and the Revolution itself was an amateur
police operation masked with expert propaganda to give an appearance of proletarian legitimacy 6
Both of these interpretations are heavily politicized. The former s purpose was to establish the
legitimacy of the Soviet Union as the genuine embodiment of the will of the Russian Proletariat, the
authentic People s State. The latter was meant to strip the USSR of that legitimacy and expose the
oppressive and unpopular dictatorship that ruled the country with an iron fist. As is not uncommon in
such situations, both of these interpretations

The National Health Service Within The United Kingdom
Introduction to the Organisation The National Health Service within the United Kingdom refers to the
publically funded body with a variety of healthcare related statutory responsibilities. This covers
numerous individual services around the country, all of which must be able to provide a level of
service both emergency and non emergency to the public. The NHS was formed in 1948 after a series
of public welfare reforms, and has evolved into the multi billion pound organisation that millions of
individuals rely upon today. As an organisation within the public sector, the performance of the NHS
is often heavily scrutinised by the media and general public, as the body is funded by taxpayer s
money. The services offered by the organisation are also of extreme importance in regards to public
health, and as such, it is crucial that such an organisation has an effective business continuity plan in
order to maintain these services to the highest possible level in front of unexpected disasters or
failures. Legal Duties There are a number of legal responsibilities placed upon the NHS in regards to
business continuity and unexpected events. The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 places a legal
requirement on all Category 1 Responders to have Business Continuity Plans in place to ensure that
the emergency element of the service can still be run to an acceptable level regardless of disruption.

Getting For Yes, By Roger Fisher And Looking Behind The...
Roger Fisher and William Ury s book, Getting to Yes, proposes a variety of negotiation strategies and
tools. The authors break their method down into four procedures and demonstrate them in common
negotiation scenarios. They encourage readers to break away from the two extremes of soft and hard
bargaining to seek a third approach. They call the third approach principled negotiation or negotiation
on the merits . I submit that the procedures proposed in Getting to Yes alternatively break down to two
simplistic themes, Emotional Chess and Looking Behind the Curtain, which are broadly applicable in
contemporary negotiation. Additionally, I submit that within the authors procedures are four tactics
which vary in applicability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only after this can healing and forward progress be made without risk of past emotions infecting
negotiations. The best way to address emotional issues is to acknowledge them as a legitimate by
allowing both sides to air their grievances without interruption and without criticism. This process also
allows both sides to empathize with the other s position and potentially remove prejudices and
assumptions. Additionally, this airing can unearth common interests between the parties which they
assumed were issues of conflict. This strategy does require caution, however, which is not suggested
by the authors; this issue is addressed in Part 3. When playing Emotional Chess, it is important to
avoid the topic of trust. Trust is often regarded in Western cultures as a cornerstone of relationships
and is a deep seated principle. In negotiations, however, it can be used as a tactic to fuel emotions and
re enlist egos into the negotiation fray. A party s reply of Don t you trust me? to an inquiry of
proposition s rationale, raises principle above reason and logic. Even if innocently used, this reply
places the responding party into an uneasy position. To sidestep this emotional landmine, parties
should jointly seek independent criteria to assess their rationale and the situation at hand. This joint
search aims the parties energies at the problem opposed to

Reality Tv Stereotypes
The concept of reality television has been around since the late 1990 s, starting with the first of it s
kind, Survivor, premiering on CBS in 1999. Viewers loved the authenticity that the show provided,
and as a result, reality TV (RTV) became a mainstay of prime time television. Currently, there are
more than 320 contemporary RTV shows that occupy the television screens of thousands of
individuals. However, the portrayal of women and their regressed stereotypical characterizations on
these RTV shows has become pervasive, specifically in the RTV genre. As evident on The Bachelor
series, one of the most successful RTV shows, the female contestants on the show serve to exemplify
almost every negative stereotype associated with women. The Bachelor mainly acts as a platform for

How Large Is The Current U.S. Budget Deficit And How Has
How large is the current U.S. budget deficit and how has it changed over the last few years? The
projected Unites States budget deficit for fiscal year 2017 is a staggering $559 billion dollars. A
budget deficit occurs when the government spends more than it receives in revenue over a specific
period of time (Schiller, Hill, Wall, 2013, p. 251). Currently the US government runs on a fiscal year
(FY) which begins October 1st each year. The projected rate of 2017 s deficit is 17.6 % of expected
revenues of $3.4 trillion which is only slightly lower than FY 2016. The 2016 deficit represented 3.2
% of gross domestic product (GDP) rising from 2.4% in FY 2015 (Congressional Budget Office,

never been debt free. At the time of this writing the US National debt was $19,975,211,704, and
changed over the time of typing in the figure (Federal Reserve, 2017). National debt is accumulated
debt of the federal government (Schiller, Hill, Wall, 2013, p. 261). This astronomical figure is difficult
to fully grasp. To break it down in simple terms; that amounts to $61,55 per US citizen, and $166,775
per tax payer. With the median income at just over $30,000, there is simply no way the nation can pay
the debt off by raising taxes alone (Federal Reserve, 2017). At issue, who owns this debt? The US
Citizen does, strangely enough at 65.6%. Social Security owns roughly 16%, other federal entities
own 13% and the Federal Reserve owns an additional 12%. The other 34.4% of US debt is owned by
other countries and foreign interests (Patton, 2014). This could potentially lead to national security

History Of Slavery In African Americans
African American veneration of elders did not begin in the new world but was transported by slave
ships from Africa during the Middle Passage. Despite the many Africans who chose to acclimate to

including ancestor worship. The values that have been passed down from generation to generation
have focused on family, along with the emphasis on both children and elders in the African American

Andromache s Lamentations In The Iliad Analysis
Throughout the Iliad lamentations provide eulogies of heroic figures, which praise their past deeds and
individual traits, often through the expression of a speaker s personal feelings and attachment. When
Hektor dies, however, Andromache delivers lamentations that deviate from the trend of other
lamentations in the Iliad. Andromache s lamentations are future oriented instead of being rooted in the
past, and deliver narratives about the future of Hektor s family and the Trojans rather than displaying
words of effusive emotion. Moreover, Andromache employs antithesis, a technique that makes her
lamentations more complicated and meaningful than the lamentations of others Briseis, Helen, or
Hekabe, for instance. With these unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, Homer s diction is composed of successive terms that possess feminine and domestic qualities.
Compounded with Andromache s innocence, the diction overturns the violent and gruesome
atmosphere of previous battle scenes and brings in warm, domestic serenity. In later lines, however,
the martial qualities are revived and directly contrast with this domesticity. Andromache runs out of
the house like a raving woman with pulsing heart, just like a soldier whose brother or a close friend
had died (22.460 461). When she comes up the wall and sees Achilles dragging Hektor around, she
faints, and this scene even more resembles the death of a soldier, particularly Patroklos:
The darkness of night misted over the eyes of Andromache.
She fell backward, and grasped the life breath from her, and far off threw from her head the shining
gear that ordered her headdress, the diadem and the cap, and the holding band woven together, and the
circlet, which Aphrodite the golden once had given her (22.466 470).
Not only Homer uses the expression darkness of night misting over the eyes, a common phrase used to
describe the deaths of soldiers, but also Homer likens the way Andromache falls backward to a dead
soldier getting disarmed. In the scene when Hektor kills Patroklos, Patroklos s iron shod, far
shadowing spear, shield, and corselet drop to the ground, one by one (16.801 804). Similarly, here,
Andromache s diadem,

My Passion For Musical Theatre
The world is packed full of talented individuals. Every individual has something that can be
considered a talent. Specifically, in musical theatre, talented actors, singers, and dancers are in
abundance. But being talented isn t what makes a successful artist. The industry has created a skewed
vision of success . Many consider a successful artist to be simply talented, but I believe it goes beyond
talent. One s work ethic and character should be equally if not more prioritized than talent. Though
talent is completely necessary, one must realize that as actors, we will encounter a multitude of
contrasting roles, but the role we will play for the rest of our lives is ourself.
I was not the typical musical theatre kid growing up. Even though from a young age I was convinced I
would pursue musical theatre in some degree as an adult, I was not continually involved in dance,
voice and acting classes. Being raised in a family of eight created a financial barrier to be involved in
an abundance of training. My devoted parents, who run a nonprofit marriage ministry, kept me
involved in my passion of theatre as much as possible. It was difficult seeing many of my peers being
involved in numerous classes and productions I longed to be a part of. As I entered high school, I had
a decision to make. I could either let the negativity and comparison to others I was feeling diminish
my passion for musical theatre or I could continually strive towards success to the best of my ability.

Child Soldiers In A Long Way Gone
Ishmael Beah and Grace Akallo Like hundreds if not thousands of other child soldiers, Ishmael Beah
suffered the devastation of war and conflict in an African country. This country in particular is Sierra
Leone, a former British colony that was left with no concrete government. The history of Sierra Leone
and how the 10 year war in the country started is rarely mentioned in A Long Way Gone. Whether the
historical and political aspect of the war is purposely omitted from the memoir or never explored by
Ishmael Beah is never mentioned in the story. Nevertheless, it is more likely that Ishmael had very
little idea in the political background behind the war he was fighting in. From a broad point of view,
the war was both influenced by external ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historically, there have been child soldiers even in the United States. Bugler John Cook, served in the
U.S. Army at the age of 15 and received the Medal of Honor for his acts during the American Civil
War ( Child Soldiers Are Unfortunately Nothing New ). However, the use of child soldiers has
dramatically declined in western civilization during the 20th century. Surprisingly, the recent use of
child soldiers in Africa is still seen in media today. Grace Akallo, a girl who formerly served under
warlord Joseph Kony, suffered a similar account as Ishmael. As part of her initiation into the army, she
was forced to kill another girl. In A Long Way Gone, a rebel soldier attempts to initiate Ishmael and
others by yellong, We are going to initiate all of you by killing these people in front of you. We have
to do this to show you blood and make you strong. You ll never see any of these people again, unless
you believe in life after death (A Long Way Gone, 90) In Akallo s book, she describes how she was
trained with an AK 47, just like Ishmael Beah. Unlike Ishmael, who was a boy, she was forced as a
sex slave and raped at several occasions (Akallo, 121). The topic of human trafficking is also explored
in her book as she reports hundreds of other boys and girls used for illegal

Asian Women
Nevertheless, many Asian women in particular struggle to adopt status within the society as they are
not heteronormative enough. There are many reasons why Asian women perform cosmetic surgery in
order to look white in an attempt to attain the framework of heteronormativity. One of the reasons why
Asian women want to look white is through gaining benefit in finding a partner. Based on a study of
692 undergraduates, the study has found that white women are more likely to be asked out compared
to non white women. White women have a staggering percentage of 40 percent while non white
women have roughly about 28 percent (Knox Schacht, 2012). Another study conducted from

The media seeks to reinforce the framework of heteronormativity through the lifestyle held by
hegemonic social norms. The public s attitude to cosmetic surgery is heavily influenced by the crucial
role of the sociocultural in particular to the promotion of the body and beauty in the mass media
(Moon, 2015). Within the global media, the image of Asian women is fixed towards depicting social
qualities as exotic, feminine, and seductive. Due to these depictions of Asian women in the media,
Asian women are seen as dolls. In addition, Asian women are not portrayed as humans compared to
white women (Hall, 1995). This negative image of observing Asian women as inferior humans further
affect Asian women status within the concept of heteronormativity. Therefore, Asian women perform
cosmetic surgery to look white in order to alter their image and gain their power. The role of the mass
media contributes strong self images that correspond with the consumer culture, in regard to the desire
to buy the ideal beauty commodity (Askegaard, Gertsen, Langer, 2015). Since western beauty is
strongly penetrating within almost every edge of the media in Asia. The beauty ideal of Asia is largely
westernized through the extent where most models or celebrities are western or look western. With
this implementation, Western and domestic models that are embodied to western features are heavily
promoted along the goods in the Asian Market (Kim, 2003). According to Li, Min, and Belk (2008),
having pale white skin is perceived as a symbol of flawless, luxury, and prestige in the Asian cultures.

The Abortion Of The United States
Facing Abortion in the United States
Abortion is a common debated topic in the United States. It is becoming commonplace in our society.
Terminating an unwanted pregnancy is a difficult choice that many women have faced throughout the
years. Through out this paper, reasons for abortion, women, underage girls, parental laws, emotions,
and the procedures of terminating a pregnancy will be discussed. While there is still more research
being done, it is said that abortion can have both negative and positive effects.
There are many reasons for why women seek abortions. The purposes for seeking an abortion have
been categorized into 11 wide ranging themes. The main themes acknowledged as intentions for
seeking an abortion included financial reasons (40%), timing (36%), marital reasons (31%), and the
need to focus on other children (29%); (Biggs, Gould, Foster 2013). Women seek abortion for reasons
that are related to their surroundings, including their economic status, age, healthiness, and marital
status (Biggs et al., 2013). For women who have an abortion, their circumstances can sometimes
change for the better by not having a baby. Women who feel that they can better themselves without a
child in the picture are motivated to have an abortion so they can reach their goals. There is a fear of
undergoing humiliation, or internalized shame due to the choice of having an abortion; driving women
to provide a response that society would understand for her decision to

Comparing Lady of Shalott and Morte d Arthur Essay
Comparing Lady of Shalott and Morte d Arthur
Lord Tennyson wrote both Morte d Arthur and The Lady of Shalott. He set both of the poems in
medieval Camelot and describes knights and love. Both poems convey tragedy and loss. The Lady of
Shalott is fated to die tragically and King Arthur s death is described being the end of Camelot and all
that went with it. The Lady of Shalott is more of a fairy story with a sad ending, but Morte d Arthur is
much more serious and sad from the beginning and deals with both the death of Arthur and the magic
sword Excalibur .
In both poems Tennyson uses language, mood and atmosphere to demonstrate a sense of tragedy and
loss. In Morte d Arthur the landscape ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also the verses are very upbeat and written like a song. It is a very much happier poem than Morte d
Arthur. The tone of the poem begins to suggest the tragedy when we learn that a curse is on here if she
stay to look down to Camelot and she knows that she is cursed . This tells us that something bad will
happen to her probably she will die if she breaks the rules and looks directly out of her tower down to
Camelot. As the mood of the poem changes it makes you wonder what is going to happen to her. Also
we learn that she only see things through a mirror and moving through a mirror clear…shadows of the
world appear . You begin to feel that she will break her curse by looking out of the window and her
tragedy will begin to unfold.
In Morte d Arthur, Arthur also feels that something will happen to him that is pre determined by
Merlin, the magician, so this is very similar to the Lady s premonition of her tragic fate. His sword,
Excalibur, is a piece of magic in its own. It is beautifully described, it has lots of precious stones and
jewels on it, and it glistens in the light. Bedivere is reluctant to throw away such a beautiful sword into
a lake.
In Lady of Shallot it is Lancelot that is described in this beautiful way his broad clear brow in sunlight
glowed . Tennyson describes him and his horse in great detail and we see him as a bright and

Impact of Hypoxia on the Way We Exercise
Intro Introduction A number of environmental conditions can impact the way we exercise.
Environmental elements can have a huge impact on the performance of exercise, especially during
prolonged submaximal exercise (Hayashi et al, 2005). For example, in situations where hypoxia is an
issue, they can have a detrimental impact on the physiology of aerobic organisms, including humans.
Hypoxia can occur in a number of environmental situations and has a variety of effects on aerobic
organisms. It is essentially the situation where the air has a reduction in the oxygen content, which can
have an obvious detrimental impact on human and animals in situations where exercise would require
more oxygen in the air (Fan et al., 2008). Hypoxia has a serious impact on the physiology of the
human body and its wide variety of functioning. A study conducted by Fan et al. (2008) illustrated that
hypoxia can even have an impact on antioxidant enzymes and glutathione, showing its potential to
negatively affect humans, both as they exercise and as they are at rest. Still, the relationship between
the presence of hypoxia and what it does to the human body in physiological terms is not as well
understood as many scientists in the field with hope. The purpose of this current research is to further
explore hypoxia s impact on the human body during bouts of submaximal exercise. This study uses an
experiment to empirically test and evaluate the impact of hypoxia on this type of exercise. Thus, the

Technology And The Rights Of A State Of Emergency
Technology and the rights that are written in the constitution is a privilege that people must not take

The Ballet dance, which also incorporates movements of contemporary and South American folk

Ghost Dancers fuses many styles of dance including the primary style of ballet, contemporary and
traditional Chilean folk dance. Ballet is the base of the dance as Bruce is primarily a Ballet
choreographer. Contemporary is evident as flexed feet and bent arms and legs are seen throughout the
performance. And Chilean folk dance can be seen in many sections of the dance with the civilians, as
there are many quick movements of the feet and, as shown in the fourth section with the women, they
do a movement throughout their section, which consists of change of direction with their arms out.
The costumes that the dancers wear are also significant. The costume that the ghost dancers wear is
based on the Native American legend of the Ghost Dance or Natdia. This spiritual dance was
performed during the late 1880 s, when things were bad and the Native Americans needed something
to give them hope. The dance reached its high point just before the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890,
where US soldiers opened fire and killed over 200 hundred Native Americans. They believed that
performing the ghost dance would later reunite them with their ancestors along the line. The civilians
costumes represented that of everyday people. They all had different clothes on and of the three
different classes of people, lower, middle and upper class. This gives a representation that during the
coup that no specific class was targeted and that anyone could be a

Charlie Parker Take 5 Analysis
Introduction
This task requires the close comparison of two jazz pieces of different decades and their defining
styles. The musical styles, instrumentation, compositional techniques, structure, technology and role
of lyrics are key factors in the comparison and will be focused on. The artists lives as well as the
historical and social contexts of those decades will also be analysed because they played key roles in
the composition of the music.
Charlie Parker s 1945 Bebop recording Ko Ko will be compared to Take Five composed by Paul
Desmond and Dave Brubeck.
Context
Ko Ko was composed and recorded in 1945 which marked the end of the Second World War. The
original recorded version featured Parker playing alto saxophone, Miles Davis on trumpet, Curley
Russelland on double bass, Max Roach on drums and Dizzy Gillespie on piano, instead of his main
instrument trumpet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parker recorded Ko Ko during his first session and first date as a leader for Savoy Records.
This piece showcased just how challenging this new music was to play. Parker was no longer
confining himself in the traditional jazz musical style but rather creating his own new Jazz language.
Ko Ko was a ferocious salvo fired across swings bow. (Myers n.d.)
Take Five, a West Coast Cool Jazz piece, was composed by Paul Desmond during the Cold War and
performed by The Dave Brubeck Quartet on their 1959 album Time Out . The piece got its name due
to its 5/4 time signature, which is very unusual. This reflects the experimental nature of West Coast
Cool Jazz. I was breaking a whole bunch of rules. (Zollo 1991), but this evidently worked because it
was the first jazz single to ever sell over a million copies globally.

Comparing Empress Wu And Pharaoh Cleopatra
Being a female in itself is hard, but being a female ruler, well that is almost near impossible, but it can
be done. Look at empress Wu and Pharaoh Cleopatra, they were powerful rulers. They both worked
hard but they also did have their differences, such as their ascent to power, achievements, resources
and overall method of ruling.
When it comes to these two women and there ascent to power it is two different stores to start but they
tend to overlap. For example Empress Wu was only able to be near the emperor because she was his
concubine, and she gave him everything that his wife was unable too. Even though she was favored
over Emperor Kao Tsung s wife, she felt that was not enough so she fed the Emperor a lie, which he
believed. Resulting in him removing his wife and marring Empress Wu. Not too much later, Emperor
Tsung died and Empress made a way for her youngest son took over so that way she could rule by
telling him what to do. Now when it comes to Pharaoh Cleopatra, becoming the ruler was handed to
her on a silver platter. She was put in charge after her father had his oldest daughter killed, but she

The Determination Of The Rio Grande
Blair, Akhil, Kyle, Divya (1C 9A) The Determination of the Rio Grande being the Texas official
border was influenced by many policies and beliefs. Although one large piece was influenced by the
Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny was a belief that God wanted America to expand all the way to the
west coast of the American Continent. The Americans wanted the Rio Grande to be the Texas border
because of this belief. However, Mexico objected and claimed that the Nueces River was the Texas
border. The United States did not want the Nueces River to be the border because it did not fulfill the
Manifest Destiny. So then the only way to make the Rio Grande the border was to push Mexican out
of the area. American had to make Mexico recognize that the Texas border was the Rio Grande.
The Rio Grande is the fifth longest river to run through the United States and the 20th longest in the
world. It flows 1,900 miles from the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado to the Gulf of
Mexico. Along its way, it travels 175 miles through Colorado, 470 miles through New Mexico, and
the remaining 1,240 miles through Texas. Currently, the river is used as a border from Texas (United
States), to Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas (Mexico). During this conflict, Mexico
had a different point of view. They Claimed and wanted the Texas Border to be the Nueces river. This
was because Mexico wanted most of the rich land in Texas. They also thought that the Mexicans had

The Basic Concepts Of The Game
Part 1
Section 1: The basic concepts of the game
Baseball is a team sport played over a special field with play divided into periods called innings. Each
of these innings is further separated into two halves; the top and the bottom of the innings. Points in
baseball are scored by the team on offense hitting the thrown ball and running around the four bases
back to the starting position to score. But, if the runner is tagged with the baseball by one the players
on defense before completing the run, that runner is out. After three outs, the inning moves from the

Section 2: The layout of the field
The baseball field, (also sometimes referred to as the diamond), is a specially designed field made of
two basic parts; the infield and the outfield. The infield is where most of the action happens. It is
defined by four bases at each corner of the diamond shaped infield set into the ground and evenly
spaced apart. In Professional and high school leagues the bases are 90 feet apart from each other. The
infield is mainly made of dirt except for a lake of grass in the middle with an island of dirt in the
middle called the pitcher s mound. The pitcher s mound is 60.5 feet from home plate in professional
and high school level play. The batter stands at a special plate called home plate where the pitch will
be thrown to from the pitcher s mound. The hitter will attempt to hit the ball with his bat and put the
ball into play. There are chalk painted rectangles on either side of home plate that defines where the
batter stands. In which box the batter stands in depends on if he/she is left handed or right handed.
There is another painted box behind home plate that defines where the catcher crouches to catch the
ball if the batter misses.
Looking at the diagram, hopefully you notice that there are two long white lines labelled as foul lines.
The foul lines define the sides of the infield and the outfield. If any ball is hit and it goes to the right of
the first base side foul line or if it goes

Attila The Hun Leadership
Many historians claim that Attila the Hun is a great leader, however there are still people who
disagree, Peter Heather claims that Attila s decade of glory was no more than a sideshow in the drama
of western Europe . Heather continues, stating that the Huns impact on the collapse of Rome was
nothing more than an accident . Furthermore Heathers continues to describe how There was nothing to

near the frozen ocean, and are quite abnormally savage. They were just so fierce that it was natural for
them to go around hitting people . Many of Heathers books seem to focus on the Roman perspective

From these accounts we can assume that the Huns had some uncivilised traits, but, that does not
necessarily make Attila a barbaric or bad leader.
In today s society the characteristics of a suitable leader are very different to the ancient world. Today,

Hope In Dystopian Literature
Dystopian literature has made an uprising popularity in the recent years. Lots of audiences like to read

have accordingly adapted these themes and made them their own. While the authors have all made
their own works, they all describe the same characteristics. For example, the government threatening
the citizens and putting them in despair, making them feel as there is no hope in the future society. The
outcome of these societies lead to characters having hope and making alliances to make the future
better. In George Orwell s 1984 and Ernest Cline s Ready Player One, the societies are very similar

Conversely, Cline s use of the themes leaves the reader understanding the emotions and how the

the scoreboard, expecting to see his brother Daito s score increase as well. But it never

effective way to communicate the theme is because it is more clear to convey what is happening.
Orwell s writing is more challenging to understand then Cline s. Therefore, Cline produces a clearer

Blood Brothers Drama Analysis
For the GCSE unit two exam we studied the play Blood Brothers by Willy Russell we used drama
techniques to analyse the different Features of the play. Also, we went into detail with the context
behind the meaning of the play. We used the script as a stimulus to generate a story with the text from
the play. For example, we used a specific part in the play where the narrator stated How quickly an
idea planted can take root and grow into a plan. The thought conceived in this very room grew as
surely as a seed in the mother s womb . This was used to create a piece of drama which had to include
some text from the stimulus here we used the scene where Mrs Johnston tells Mrs Lyons that she is
pregnant with twins. I feel that we used this part of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when Petro said to Michael in a very high pitched voice that You ll go to hell and there
you ll fry . This was seen on page 36 where Mickey used foul language. This was effective for the
audience as it showed the way that children exaggerate to every little thing and their playful attitude.
In Pietro s group, they used an essence machine to show that everything is just a game. This acts in
contrast to the themes of the play Fate, bad luck and destiny. This is because the play has a serious
ending to it as the twins die. Also, Mrs Lyons and Mrs Johnston played around with the destiny of the
boys by taking on the role of God and deciding who gets to look after which twin.
Facial expressions were used for example this was seen when Tyres was playing Mrs Lyons and
Amirah was playing Mrs Johnston Amirah told Tyres that she was pregnant with twins. He grinned
and looked up at the sky this was used to show the audience that he was evil and sinister. This related
back to the theme of Nature vs. nurture this is because the twins were both raised is two different
environments. This was used to show how manipulative Mrs Lyons was. Also, as he was talking to
Mrs Lyons rolled her eyes to show how confused she was this showed that they had different mindsets
this being because of the difference in

Brigade s Command Philosophy
As the new brigade commander for the 4th ABCT, we will work to frame the problem to address some
critical leadership challenges within the brigade. A positive and productive brigade will allow leaders
at all levels to feel empowered because the value of empowerment will set the condition for its
battalions to utilize a systematic approach in addressing issues of reestablishing trust within the
organization at all levels, a change in organizational climate to include families, and set the conditions
for a positive culture within the brigade. The brigade s goal is to implement the Army s command
philosophy that leadership is a life long process of self assessment, learning, application, and
reassessment. This will drive our end state is to ensure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The brigade will empower our staff through the chaplains, medical professionals, and leaders to
openly communicate and address the stresses of combat. The brigade holds town halls and encourage
the battalions to do so as well because these stressors extend beyond our formation. We will provide
guidance to ensure leaders and Soldiers understand the importance of addressing these matters and
how they correlate to trust. The brigade s goal is to communicate a vision and command philosophy
that demonstrates our specific purpose, empowers our leaders and effectively manage the systems that
drive the organization. These elements need to be articulated at the lowest level so that Soldier s
understand our mission, to fight and win the nation s wars. This is our expectation and is what is
demanded of us from our government and most importantly the public. It is our greatest privilege to
be leaders of American Soldiers and collectively we will build a bedrock of trust throughout the

The Conflict Theory Of Social Groups
Intergroup Competition is the idea that social groups will extend from the desire for a group to gain
the scarce resources that exist (36 40). This idea is greatly supported by the segment on affirmative
action in the video (36 40). As said in the movie, the idea is that scholarship money and grant money
is a scarce resource when students decide to go to college (37 40). In this view, the individuals who
are against affirmative action are competing for that scarce resource (36 40). By using techniques like
affirmative action and racial and/or ethnic based scholarships present the subordinate group s strive for
power, and the arguments against these resources are the dominant group s attempt to maintain their
power (36 40). Moreover, the strive to gain these programs is not just for their own individual self
interest, but is for the interest of their social group as a whole to maintain the group s desires (36 40).
It is in this belief that s the Realistic Conflict Theory resides (36 40). In this, their exists the view that
this conflict for scarce resources subsequently produces prejudice, in which a privileged group has a
sense of group position and strives to protect it (36 40). This is shown in the video by the idea of
reverse racism, in which the dominant group tries to grain pity for their loss of domination by saying
that affirmative action gives African Americans an unfair advantage, thus racially profiling the
subordinate group while trying to maintain their

Demonstration Of Corruption In The Statue Of Liberty
Another demonstration of corruption is between Evey and the bishop. V plans for Evey to disguise
herself as a young religious girl and to get in contact with the bishop. While the bishop attends to
Evey, he suggests to do a religious activity and directs her to a bedroom. Wary of the bishop s actions,
Evey distracts him until he interrupts, Now take off your clothes please...Oh nevermind, allow me to
(Moore 53). The bishop is associated with religious authority, meaning that he has power in the
church. The irony is that he is supposed to be practicing ethics, considering the religious aspects that
he involves himself in. However, the bishop nearly sexually harassed Evey, which is against the
common knowledge of religious authority. The victims ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In anarchy, everyone is responsible for themselves, without government interference. However, Moore
expresses his thoughts about freedom through his character, V. One example is V visiting the Statue of
Liberty and having a brief discussion on the idea of freedom (Moore 40 41). The Statue of Liberty
associates with the idea of freedom and justice. It is in the belief that the country is free, since the
Statue of Liberty is publicly exposed to demonstrate the country s freedom. V questions whether the
country the truly free. He introduces his fascination of his preferred system of government, since he
no longer sees the freedom that the country promises. He states, [Anarchy] has taught me that justice
is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike like
you, Jezebel (Moore 41). V suggests that the people can only obtain freedom if they are able to fight
for justice. Instead of continuing to believe the promise of freedom by the government, V chooses to
obtain freedom himself. On the bottom left panel, the Statue of Liberty explodes due to V. This
represents how V is no longer willing to have false hope of the government. He is abandoning the
ideals of the fascist

Reflection Of A Journey To The Lake Of The Woods
The other day I was making a gratitude list. I do this periodically after I m reminded by someone to
make it a daily practice. I can attest that as it makes me more aware of what people, birthright and
luck brings to one s life. My gratitude list includes living, breathing things, like my dogs and my
friends, and now for the last decade, includes my father and our annual visit to our summer cabin in
Northern Minnesota.
My father just pushed past ninety three in March of this year. I am very grateful to have developed a
relationship with him that is more like a friendship and camaraderie. He makes for great company in a
place with very little noise. Our relationship transformed after my mother passed and now our
vacation week on Lake of the Woods involves us to create conversation and shared experiences.
Our vacation retreat is on a small island that now has several walking paths, the necessary boat dock
and a very modest cabin. As my mother used to say, It s a cabin in the sticks . The island s inhabitance
began in the 1920 s by my father s father. It s both humble and grand. More than once will I hear the
word Paradise as my father voices his awe at the rugged beauty that surrounds us on all sides. You can
only describe these 14, 500 islands that dot Lake of the Woods as timeless . Regardless of
modernization, the vista is an enduring expanse of green cedar and white pine trees whose gnarly roots
hang on for dear life to the granite. It s a wonder

Texas Legislature Functions
The Texas Legislature is the most important representative institution in the state (TEXT 201). The
Texas legislature performs a great number of functions, but one of the main functions is lawmaking.
Hundreds of bills are drafted but it is not easy for that bill to become law. Roughly every two years,
the legislature gathers to carry out laws about issues of allocating resources, benefits, costs, and the
behavior of state residents. Policies and proposals for constitutional amendments are looked at ranging
from small local issues to statewide issues. The state legislature also plays a significant role in state
finances through its power to tax. It has the power to decide if tax increases or decrease are necessary,
budgeting for and financing

Tom Sholz Influence On Boston
The rock band Boston is a staple of many classic rock stations playlists throughout the nation. They
are well known for songs like: More Than a Feeling , Foreplay/Longtime , Amanda , Peace of Mind ,
Don t Look Back , Rock and Roll Band , and Smokin along with many other great rock songs that
features founder Tom Scholz s music writing and Brad Delps lyrics. It is the combined work of these
two that made Boston what it is today; so it is necessary to know the history of Tom Scholz before
Boston to see where the influence for Boston s style came from. Tom Scholz had gone to school at
Massachusetts Institute of Technology to earn a Bachelor s and Master s degree in Mechanical
Engineering. Scholz would go on to accept a job at Polaroid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Scholz disagreed with Epic records and believed that his basement tapes were all good enough for
release. So he got the producer, John Boylan, which Epic Records hired, to listen to his tapes and
Boylan agreed that Scholz s tapes did not need to be re recorded. Scholz and Boylan came up with a
plan that would allow Schloz to keep recording and editing in his basement studio without CBS
looking over his shoulder and influencing his work. While Scholz continued to work on the backing
tracks in his basement, a decoy band consisting of: bassist Fran Sheehan, guitarist Barry Goudreau,
and newly hired drummer Sib Hashian; they were sent to L.A. to appease CBS in the mean

The Tripartite Secondary School System
Introduction To Social Policy (AC1, AC2, AC4.2) The tripartite secondary school system was
introduced to society following the 1944 Education Act, this act divided schooling into primary and
secondary levels whilst increasing the school leaving age to 15. During the same year, however, the
secondary level of schooling was further divided into 3 categories grammar, technical and modern.
Prior to this act there was no segregation of schooling in place, known as elementary schooling.
Grammar schools were intended to schools based around academia, technical schools were intended to
be based around science and technical schooling and modern schools were intended to be consistent
with general schooling and education. The secondary schools children attended was not down to
individual choice but rather an IQ test, the 11+ test. The 11+ test was founded by Cyril Burt on the
understanding that intelligence was inherited, there was proof into Burt s theory and it was identified
that girls IQ level was often higher. The test was fixed to minimise the girls scores and allow only
20% to meet the requirements for the grammar schools. However this act was not successful as
modern and grammar schools were equal in society and science was taught in grammar schools as
opposed to technical schools, thus very few technical schools were instituted. By 1952 predominantly
people were in modern schools, followed by grammar and only 5% in technical schools so the system
proposed had failed to

Life Insurance Vs Estate Planning Essay
It is important to secure household wealth; this can be established through life insurance and estate
planning. This will help make sure that anyone you support isn t left on the street, and that their
financial well being is taken care of. Life insurance is important but we face two problems, first we
don t know when we are going to die and then the possibility of dying to soon. Dying before we are
able to secure financial security for love ones. Life insurance protects our love ones from the death of
you or spouse. This is especially important for the one who brings the higher income (breadwinner). If
only one person earns income and other people rely on that income, we need to make sure those
people are still being taken care after an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of your assets are to be distributed among children or family. Estate planning should be taken
care of before ones death rather than after. If nothing is setup then there is a probate court that will
distribute and properly execute to people or organizations, which is required by law. It is
recommended that your assets be set up as a nonprobate property. Meaning that you have distributed
your assets by transfer to a designed beneficiary, transfer to property ownership designation and
transfer by payable death designation. Having a joint tenant in a property transfers immediately to that
person upon ones death and for payable on death designation allows for the beneficiary to access
funds immediately with proof of a death certificate. A will also establishes what should be done with
any remaining assets after death. This is done through a personal representative that identifies ones
assets, collects any money due and after that is established they will pay off any debts and after filing
income tax distributes it with the permission of the court. Keep in mind that spouses have legal rights
to each other estates. This is known as community property laws that state that the surviving spouse
owns half of everything acquired during the marriage regardless of the contribution by either

I was born in Colombia but was raised in Charlotte, NC so it was really nice to feel like I was home. I went to Dallas Art Museum in downtown Dallas. The museum was humongous!! I think it was about 5 6 stories high or maybe more! When I walked in with my friend this nice lady approached us and gave us a tour around and gave us some lessons of the art we were interested in. She took us to the Egyptian art which I thought was pretty awesome but also scary because one art piece was a coffin so I am thinking ok a coffin not so scary but when she told me to look closely.... You could see men crying out for help and the bodies of men on the ground. Also, you can see men fighting for their lives in that bloody war scene. In the art piece you can see the amount of detail in every piece including the horses, the armour, and the captives. Each piece has emotion, you can feel the pain, anger and the helplessness on each piece. I say in which this was done during the Roman period it had to be about war. I thought since it was traditionally Roman it had to depict a great battle with the Romans and their foe. The romans are heavily aromoured and riding on horses while the people they are fighting are either naked or wearing a simple toga. The nice lady that guided me stated that this was most likely created to portray the wars Rome fought with the Germanic tribesmen along the Danube frontier in what now are Romania and Hungary. The Sarcophagus in this painting is showing off the great triumphs of a general as a war hero throughout his life. During that time, Death was not mourned, it was celebrated by their life and the accomplishments that they have been able to do throughout their life. That s what the painting shows, the battle scene depicted here was created because the man probably with to identify his life and career with well known Greek scenes of military. Renewable Energy Is Our Future Energy Sources Current Events Essay: Renewable Resources Are Our Future Energy Sources Renewable energy resources are our future energy sources and great strides are being made by using these energy applications to improve the environmental impact towards protecting Earth. Hossain, K.A. writes in The Journal of Fundamental Renewable Energy and Applications that there are basically three sources of energy: fossil fuel, nuclear fuel, and renewable fuel sources (Hossain). Fossil fuels are being used up, nuclear fuel must be created, but renewable fuel can be regenerated. Renewable energy includes select natural resources, recyclable materials, alternative fuels, bio refineries, solid biomass, and innovative clean energy (Maczulak). Sources of renewable energy are being used to convert wind, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, biomass, and solar energy into electricity that can be used to power our world. Renewable energy is constantly being replenished (Hossain). Renewable energy is available in plenty and by far most the cleanest sources of energy available on this planet (Hossain). Progress is being made in each of the areas of renewable energy to improve it and make it usable and accessible to the general public. Undoubtedly, the study of natural energy and renewable energy has been around for centuries, nevertheless we are currently seeing tremendous growth in innovations and availability of renewable energy. Expectationships And Personal Relationships People are relational and communicative human beings who, often, fail at being relational and communicative with other human beings, such as their life partners. Humans enter relationships for multitudes of reasons, but most are searching for someone to love and build a life with. However, people have different concepts of what a life together constitutes. When people begin to build a relationship with a partner they bring a variety of expectations into the partnership. These expectations may apply to one, the other, or both members of the relationship and they may, or may not, be in accordance to the expectations that the other person has brought into the relationship. Expectations can complicate or simplify relationships; similarly, expectations can make or break relationships. My husband and I have been together for over seven years, but married a little over one year. My husband and I s changing relational dynamic has been evaluated through both of us taking the Household Survey. The discussion that followed showed that we disagree about the division of household chores and aspects of our future family, but we have similar perspectives about our finances. As shown in the survey, Cade and I disagree about the division of various household chores, such as dishes, grocery shopping, laundry, and cleaning the house. The majority of the working and oppressed people all over the world are with us. Ours is the cause of justice. The October Revolution was interpreted quite differently by those hostile to the Communist leaders of the Soviet Union. In their top down histories of the Russian Revolution the common people appeared as the passive objects of the evil machinations of the Bolsheviks. 4 The Bolsheviks cynically adopted populist and anarchist slogans in order to recruit the masses as foot soldiers in their own quest for power. If any apparent support for the October Revolution was seen among the masses, it was the product of ignorance, skilled propaganda and a supple improvisation by the Bolsheviks themselves, who transformed their elite operation into a temporary mass organization 5 to seduce the Russian masses. The socialist reality of October was imaginary, and the Revolution itself was an amateur police operation masked with expert propaganda to give an appearance of proletarian legitimacy 6 Both of these interpretations are heavily politicized. The former s purpose was to establish the legitimacy of the Soviet Union as the genuine embodiment of the will of the Russian Proletariat, the authentic People s State. The latter was meant to strip the USSR of that legitimacy and expose the oppressive and unpopular dictatorship that ruled the country with an iron fist. Additionally, this airing can unearth common interests between the parties which they assumed were issues of conflict. This strategy does require caution, however, which is not suggested by the authors; this issue is addressed in Part 3. When playing Emotional Chess, it is important to avoid the topic of trust. Andromache s lamentations are future oriented instead of being rooted in the past, and deliver narratives about the future of Hektor s family and the Trojans rather than displaying words of effusive emotion. Andromache runs out of the house like a raving woman with pulsing heart, just like a soldier whose brother or a close friend had died (22.460 461). When she comes up the wall and sees Achilles dragging Hektor around, she faints, and this scene even more resembles the death of a soldier, particularly Patroklos: The darkness of night misted over the eyes of Andromache. This negative image of observing Asian women as inferior humans further affect Asian women status within the concept of heteronormativity. Therefore, Asian women perform cosmetic surgery to look white in order to alter their image and gain their power. The role of the mass media contributes strong self images that correspond with the consumer culture, in regard to the desire to buy the ideal beauty commodity (Askegaard, Gertsen, Langer, 2015). Since western beauty is strongly penetrating within almost every edge of the media in Asia. The beauty ideal of Asia is largely westernized through the extent where most models or celebrities are western or look western. With this implementation, Western and domestic models that are embodied to western features are heavily promoted along the goods in the Asian Market (Kim, 2003). According to Li, Min, and Belk (2008), having pale white skin is perceived as a symbol of flawless, luxury, and prestige in the Asian cultures. Whiteness is a source of cultural capital that is related with upper class images (Bourdieu, 1984). Women seek abortion for reasons that are related to their surroundings, including their economic status, age, healthiness, and marital status (Biggs et al., 2013). For women who have an abortion, their circumstances can sometimes change for the better by not having a baby. Women who feel that they can better themselves without a child in the picture are motivated to have an abortion so they can reach their goals. • 26. Comparing Lady of Shalott and Morte d Arthur Essay Comparing Lady of Shalott and Morte d Arthur Lord Tennyson wrote both Morte d Arthur and The Lady of Shalott. He set both of the poems in medieval Camelot and describes knights and love. Both poems convey tragedy and loss. The Lady of Shalott is fated to die tragically and King Arthur s death is described being the end of Camelot and all that went with it. The Lady of Shalott is more of a fairy story with a sad ending, but Morte d Arthur is much more serious and sad from the beginning and deals with both the death of Arthur and the magic sword Excalibur . In both poems Tennyson uses language, mood and atmosphere to demonstrate a sense of tragedy and loss. In Morte d Arthur the landscape ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tone of the poem begins to suggest the tragedy when we learn that a curse is on here if she stay to look down to Camelot and she knows that she is cursed . This tells us that something bad will happen to her probably she will die if she breaks the rules and looks directly out of her tower down to Camelot. As the mood of the poem changes it makes you wonder what is going to happen to her. Also we learn that she only see things through a mirror and moving through a mirror clear…shadows of the world appear . You begin to feel that she will break her curse by looking out of the window and her tragedy will begin to unfold. In Morte d Arthur, Arthur also feels that something will happen to him that is pre determined by Merlin, the magician, so this is very similar to the Lady s premonition of her tragic fate. His sword, Excalibur, is a piece of magic in its own. It is beautifully described, it has lots of precious stones and jewels on it, and it glistens in the light. Bedivere is reluctant to throw away such a beautiful sword into a lake. In Lady of Shallot it is Lancelot that is described in this beautiful way his broad clear brow in sunlight glowed . • 28. Impact of Hypoxia on the Way We Exercise Intro Introduction A number of environmental conditions can impact the way we exercise. Environmental elements can have a huge impact on the performance of exercise, especially during prolonged submaximal exercise (Hayashi et al, 2005). For example, in situations where hypoxia is an issue, they can have a detrimental impact on the physiology of aerobic organisms, including humans. Hypoxia can occur in a number of environmental situations and has a variety of effects on aerobic organisms. It is essentially the situation where the air has a reduction in the oxygen content, which can have an obvious detrimental impact on human and animals in situations where exercise would require more oxygen in the air (Fan et al., 2008). Hypoxia has a serious impact on the physiology of the human body and its wide variety of functioning. A study conducted by Fan et al. (2008) illustrated that hypoxia can even have an impact on antioxidant enzymes and glutathione, showing its potential to negatively affect humans, both as they exercise and as they are at rest. Still, the relationship between the presence of hypoxia and what it does to the human body in physiological terms is not as well understood as many scientists in the field with hope. The purpose of this current research is to further explore hypoxia s impact on the human body during bouts of submaximal exercise. This study uses an experiment to empirically test and evaluate the impact of hypoxia on this type of exercise. Thus, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And Chilean folk dance can be seen in many sections of the dance with the civilians, as there are many quick movements of the feet and, as shown in the fourth section with the women, they do a movement throughout their section, which consists of change of direction with their arms out. The costumes that the dancers wear are also significant. The costume that the ghost dancers wear is based on the Native American legend of the Ghost Dance or Natdia. The dance reached its high point just before the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890, where US soldiers opened fire and killed over 200 hundred Native Americans. Although one large piece was influenced by the Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny was a belief that God wanted America to expand all the way to the west coast of the American Continent. The Americans wanted the Rio Grande to be the Texas border because of this belief. However, Mexico objected and claimed that the Nueces River was the Texas border. The United States did not want the Nueces River to be the border because it did not fulfill the Manifest Destiny. So then the only way to make the Rio Grande the border was to push Mexican out of the area. American had to make Mexico recognize that the Texas border was the Rio Grande. V suggests that the people can only obtain freedom if they are able to fight for justice. Instead of continuing to believe the promise of freedom by the government, V chooses to obtain freedom himself. On the bottom left panel, the Statue of Liberty explodes due to V. This represents how V is no longer willing to have false hope of the government. He is abandoning the ideals of the fascist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Reflection Of A Journey To The Lake Of The Woods The other day I was making a gratitude list. I do this periodically after I m reminded by someone to make it a daily practice. I can attest that as it makes me more aware of what people, birthright and luck brings to one s life. My gratitude list includes living, breathing things, like my dogs and my friends, and now for the last decade, includes my father and our annual visit to our summer cabin in Northern Minnesota. My father just pushed past ninety three in March of this year. I am very grateful to have developed a relationship with him that is more like a friendship and camaraderie. He makes for great company in a place with very little noise. Our relationship transformed after my mother passed and now our vacation week on Lake of the Woods involves us to create conversation and shared experiences. Our vacation retreat is on a small island that now has several walking paths, the necessary boat dock and a very modest cabin. As my mother used to say, It s a cabin in the sticks . The island s inhabitance began in the 1920 s by my father s father. It s both humble and grand. More than once will I hear the word Paradise as my father voices his awe at the rugged beauty that surrounds us on all sides. You can only describe these 14, 500 islands that dot Lake of the Woods as timeless . Regardless of modernization, the vista is an enduring expanse of green cedar and white pine trees whose gnarly roots hang on for dear life to the granite. It s a wonder ... So he got the producer, John Boylan, which Epic Records hired, to listen to his tapes and Boylan agreed that Scholz s tapes did not need to be re recorded. Scholz and Boylan came up with a plan that would allow Schloz to keep recording and editing in his basement studio without CBS looking over his shoulder and influencing his work. • 46. The Tripartite Secondary School System Introduction To Social Policy (AC1, AC2, AC4.2) The tripartite secondary school system was introduced to society following the 1944 Education Act, this act divided schooling into primary and secondary levels whilst increasing the school leaving age to 15. During the same year, however, the secondary level of schooling was further divided into 3 categories grammar, technical and modern. Prior to this act there was no segregation of schooling in place, known as elementary schooling. Grammar schools were intended to schools based around academia, technical schools were intended to be based around science and technical schooling and modern schools were intended to be consistent with general schooling and education. The secondary schools children attended was not down to individual choice but rather an IQ test, the 11+ test. The 11+ test was founded by Cyril Burt on the understanding that intelligence was inherited, there was proof into Burt s theory and it was identified that girls IQ level was often higher. The test was fixed to minimise the girls scores and allow only 20% to meet the requirements for the grammar schools. However this act was not successful as modern and grammar schools were equal in society and science was taught in grammar schools as opposed to technical schools, thus very few technical schools were instituted. By 1952 predominantly people were in modern schools, followed by grammar and only 5% in technical schools so the system proposed had failed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dying before we are able to secure financial security for love ones. Life insurance protects our love ones from the death of you or spouse. Most of your assets are to be distributed among children or family. Estate planning should be taken care of before ones death rather than after. If nothing is setup then there is a probate court that will distribute and properly execute to people or organizations, which is required by law. It is recommended that your assets be set up as a nonprobate property. Meaning that you have distributed your assets by transfer to a designed beneficiary, transfer to property ownership designation and transfer by payable death designation. Having a joint tenant in a property transfers immediately to that person upon ones death and for payable on death designation allows for the beneficiary to access funds immediately with proof of a death certificate. A will also establishes what should be done with any remaining assets after death. This is done through a personal representative that identifies ones assets, collects any money due and after that is established they will pay off any debts and after filing income tax distributes it with the permission of the court. Keep in mind that spouses have legal rights to each other estates. This is known as community property laws that state that the surviving spouse owns half of everything acquired during the marriage regardless of the contribution by either ...
