Analyzing Drum Creation Within The Basongye Bala Tribe Of...
Over a period of ten days, Alan Merriam takes his readers on a journey through the Basongye Bala
tribe on their quest to create the perfect drum. Drum creation and music in general is an important
element to the Basongye culture, this can be witnessed through this study by how detailed and
extensive the process for drum making actually is, the Basongye people ensure every groove and nook
is in its correct place. Additionally, the author reminds his readers that even though the purpose of this
article is to show how the Basongye Bala folks create drums, that it is not the only investigation that
will occur. Any ethnographic investigation can lead to almost anything else; one study can inevitably
build upon itself (Merriam 74). This ethnographic study was done through observations of the Bala
people. As mentioned previously, the purpose of this study is to illustrate drum creation within the
Basongye Bala tribe of Lupupa Ngye; it is an ethnographic, as well as, an ethnomusical study. The
author clarifies the disparity between Basongye people, how there are actually three groups of the
same people. This happened because the original Basongye people of the Democratic Republic of the
Congo were temporarily dispersed by the Arabian Slave Wars then they regrouped into three divisions:
the Basongye of the East, the Bekalebwe of the South, and lastly, the Bala of the Northeast (Merriam
75). The author continues to tell the readers that his study focuses mainly on the 260 people

Climate Change Is A Terrible Problem
Big Polluter Agenda
Climate change is a terrible problem, and it absolutely needs to be solved. It deserves to be a huge
priority (Bill Gates). As we progress as unified communities, nations, states, cities, etc., we contribute
to either a solution or to the problem. Our current government has intents to help these environmental
issues yet like any other foreign policy there are two sides to every issue. By definition of foreign
policy, which is the articulation of national interests and the means chosen to secure those interests
both material and ideational internationally, an environmental issue is a set of predicaments with the
planet s systems that have been developed due to human intrusion and mistreatment (Balyis).
Environmental issues can range in many aspects from global warming, deforestation, air and water
pollution, overpopulation, soil erosion, destruction of biodiversity, littering, destruction of natural
habitats and natural resources, attack of marine life, oil spills, nuclear issues, acid deposition,
environmental disasters, volcanic eruptions, greenhouse effect, sea level rise, fossil fuels, and species
extinction. A current issue being brought up on environmental policies this year is the Big Polluter
Agenda in both the House and the Senate. The Big Polluter Agenda is blocking the president s plan to
reduce carbon pollution from power plants, forcing approval of the Keystone XL tar sands oil
pipeline, obstructing the limits on smog, stopping the Clean Water

High School And College Athletes
Wrestling is one of the more difficult sports when it comes to being in high school or college. It is not
for everyone the sport is very demanding physically and mentally. To the point where it could
seriously injure someone. In wrestling at the beginning of the season you will choose a weight class
that you will wrestle for the season. On the day of the meet you have to weigh in and weigh the weight
class you chose. Some wrestlers would do just about anything to make weight even if it meant making
themselves throw up, dehydrate themselves, or starve themselves.
High school and college students at the beginning of the season have to get a body fat percent test
done. The lowest body fat percent you can have is seven percent for both high school and college
unless you have a doctor s note. There are a lot of students in both high school and college that would
go get a doctor s note so they could cut more weight and still be varsity. Most high school and college
wrestlers never made the best choices either after a meet. They will eat how they normally do or pig
out and gain more weight than what they had to lose.
Most colleges and high schools have a meet at least once or twice a week sometimes one during the
week and then an all day tournament during the weekend. So for some wrestlers who did not make the
best choices would lose an unhealthy amount once or twice a week. Some wrestlers would even take it
to the extreme and not eat or drink for a couple of days and put

Kenny Garrett Research Paper
Kenny Garrett
Kenny Garrett is one of my favorite Alto saxophone players. He was born in Detroit, in 1960 and
started to play saxophone in his childhood since his father also played tenor sax. Kenny Garrett s
career as a saxophonist started early at the age of 17 with a saxophone spot in Mercer Ellington s
revived Ellington Orchestra. And then he seated in Mel Lewis group (a traditional route for young and
aspiring jazzers), and performing Charles Mingus music with Dannie Richmond Quartet. Garrett
earned a complete musical education, in a series of surprisingly mainstream jazz groups, considering
his edgy and experimental, funky style.
In December 1984, when he was 24 years old and freelancing in New York City, Kenny Garrett

At the other part, the tune goes to African style, and Kenny made the connection of those parts. He
said that is not only about African Americans, it is the whole black experience. Garrett said, I played it
for Pharoah at a sound check and it immediately brought something out of him. He started singing. At
that point, I was just so happy that he intuitively understood it. When I wrote it, I had a feeling he d

is just the intro, but it falls right in the concept of this project being sketches of larger things.
The third tune is Sketches of MD . The name was given to commemorate Miles Davis that Kenny is
honor and pleasure in recording and playing for five and half years until Miles passed away. Kenny
played colorfully on this tune, it s not about improvisation as much as the melodies. At the ending,
Kenny re harmonized the chords over the bass line. That is all learned from the experience with Miles.
He did not have plan, and just let it flowed that way. Wayne s Thang and Happy people were also

Methylcyclohexane Lab Report
Arenes 5. Introduction In this experiment, the relative rates of free radical chain bromination where
determined. Five arenes were used for this comparison along with two controls for each set. One set
was kept in the dark while the other was put under light. This allowed for better observation of the
reactions, as the light set would proceed fast to show which arenes reacted slowest, while the dark set
would proceed slowly to show relative differences between the faster reacting arenes. The time it took
for the arenes to react was recorded to determine the relative rates of the reactions. 6. Data and Results
The five arenes used for this experiment were toluene, ethylbenzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane,
and methylcyclohexane. All solutions were a dark orange right after the addition of bromine. Toluene
had 1º benzylic and 2º aromatic hydrogens. Ethylbenzene had 2º benzylic, 1º aliphatic, and 2º
aromatic hydrogens. tert butylbenzene had 1º aliphatic and 2º aromatic hydrogens. Cyclohexane had
2º aliphatic hydrogens and methylcyclohexane had 1º, 2º, and 3º aliphatic hydrogens. In the set that
was exposed to light, Ethylbenzene was the first to react. It turned from a dark orange color to a
colorless liquid. Next, toluene turned colorless. After that, none of the other solutions turned colorless.
However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More specifically, secondary benzylic hydrogens are more reactive than primary benzylic hydrogens,
which are more reactive than tertiary aliphatic hydrogens and so on. This is due to the fact that
secondary benzylic hydrogens are more accessible than primary benzylic hydrogens due to less steric
hindrance. With less steric hindrance, the transition states formed from secondary benzylic hydrogens
are more stable than transition states formed from primary benzylic hydrogens and therefore the

They never once got mad at me for swinging a ball or making a bad grade because they know that I
am trying my best. I am so grateful for this and so lucky to have parents like you guys. Okay, now my
dad may have taught me the whole marathon thing but nobody showed me how to sprint to the finish
line like my brother Tyson. I don t think anything prepared me for high school more than Tyson s
reality of forgetting to do UT quests becoming my nightmares. He is not here today so he can t get
mad at me for saying that plus it is the truth. Tyson was by far my biggest inspiration throughout high
school. Whatever he did I simply attempted to emulate. But when you have a brother who finished 6th

Analysis of Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely
In the book Predictably Irrational, Dan Ariely brings forth the idea that all human behavior is done
according to certain patterns; however these patterns are not always the patterns you would think of
right off the bat. He leads the reader in a compelling journey into the realm of the human mind, and
how humans view the world. For every turn of the page there is something new and surprising.
However even with this constant change the book follows the same pattern, proving all thought is
irrational. Dan s use of imagery and descriptions along with many studies of how the human mind
reacts to certain situations provide a stimulating read for all, regardless of the reader s beliefs. Dan s
ability to mix facts with opinion, forcing you to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyone who reads this will have to wonder if they would do the same thing... The answer is,
surprisingly, yes. All people suffer from the same idea that any small amount better is okay, regardless
of if it is right to do so, so long as there is no chance of being caught. Now most people would say
right away that No, I would not do that , but after reading this book and thinking about this issue,
people would say that they would probably cheat on a test for 5 cents, especially if they couldn t be
caught. Dan also connects with his readers to interest them in further pursuing these topics. He
assumes that people reading this book are college level or higher and frequently references college
life. These references serve to make the reader think that not only are these facts he presents valid but
also that the reader is involved in this text. As an example Dan talks about the emergency pizza button
in MIT s East Campus. Anyone at MIT will instantly relate to this piece of humor he added in.
Because Dan knew his audience, he is able to custom create his message for these college students. He
does this both by his humor and the choice of studies he uses. All of his studies revolve around college
life and/or students relations outside of school. He makes it so thinking comes naturally to those
reading it, whether it is a simple thought such as, Hey, I did that , or That s my school , these readers

Pc or Mainframe
Executive Statement
A mainframe is a very large, powerful, dedicated, multi tasking computer where enormous amounts of
data are processed, sometimes millions of records a day. The mainframe is set up for specific
applications and those applications only; which is totally different from a Personal Computer (PC). A
mainframe runs a custom operating system specifically written for particular applications while a PC
has a generic operating system such as Windows and is built to handle many different programs.
PC s are multi tasking but not dedicated with control of the resources usually handled by the computer
rather than the user having control over the amount of resources used by any given application. For
example, if you were to run ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This room was very large, kept refrigerated and housed several mainframes. These machines were
typically 8 9 feet tall, about 3 feet or more wide and they were made of grey colored steel. They had
lots of lights and dials and such. The data storage was reel to reel tape onto which data was
downloaded twice a day.
So how Big is Big?
The main purpose of a mainframe was to run commercial applications and large scale computing, such
as that done by the IRS, and banks where enormous amounts of data are processed sometimes millions
of records a day.
A typical mainframe has the following characteristics:
· A mainframe has several CPUs.
· Memory is hundreds of Gigabytes of RAM and It has tons of hard drive storage.
· Its processing power is over 550 Mips.
· It often has different cabinets for storage, input/ouput and RAM.
· Distributes the workload over different processors and input/output devices. It can handle a large
number of users.
· All processes are running on the host and not on the terminal.
· Output is sent to the terminal through a program running (in the background) on the mainframe. In
my case it is called PIMS.
· Nothing else goes over the line
Management processes, such as program management and task management, are separate. A
mainframe is usually associated with centralized computing where all computing physically takes
place on the mainframe itself (L. Mitzner, personal

Marketing At Cloud Mobile App Development Platform Kii
Introduction:
The connected world vision is no longer a buzzword it s already happening, said Waqas Makhdum,
vice president of marketing at cloud mobile app development platform Kii. Over the next few years,
we see it becoming an integral part of our lives, whether it is through smart homes, smart cars or smart
health care. It s clear that the Internet of Things will disrupt most industries (Fallon, 2014, para. 2).
Today, many of us have, at least two or more connected devices like laptops, smart phones, tablets,
including other devices such as TVs, cameras, etc. Then there is a rapidly growing range of other
smart appliances that can now connect via the internet, such as, a fridge, washing machine, heating
control appliances, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Internet revolution led to the interconnection between people at an unprecedented scale and pace.
The next revolution will be the interconnection between objects to create a smart environment. Only
in 2011 did the number of interconnected devices on the planet overtake the actual number of people.
Currently there are 9 billion interconnected devices and it is expected to reach 24 billion devices by
2020. According to the GSMA, this amounts to $1.3 trillion revenue opportunities for mobile network
operators alone spanning vertical segments such as health, automotive, utilities and consumer
electronics (Gubbi, Buyya, Marusic Palaniswami, 2013).
How does it work? The Internet of Things revolves around increased machine to machine
communication; it s built on cloud computing and networks of data gathering sensors; it s mobile,
virtual, and instantaneous connection; and they say it s going to make everything in our lives from
streetlights to seaports smart. It is all about installing sensors (RFID, IR, GPS, laser scanners, etc.) for
everything, and connecting them to the internet through specific protocols for information exchange
and communications, in order to achieve intelligent recognition, location, tracking, monitoring and
management (Zhang, Kim, Mohammed,

Private And Privacy In The Medical Code Of Ethics
Exposing patient private and sensitive information can cause harm to the patient as well as his/her
relatives. This is the reason medical professionals are compelled by the law especially the HIPAA
privacy rule to ensure that patient personal information is kept private and confidential. Exposing
patient private and sensitive information is one of the unethical behaviors in the medical profession. In
medical profession, the code of ethics ensures that medical practitioners remain professional
(American Nurses Association 21). This ensures high quality service delivery as well as ensuring that
the patients are protected from any possible harm by the actions of the medics. Privacy is one of the
key issues in medical profession. The behavior of medical practitioners leaking patient information is
unethical and thus can harm the patient. Patient information has to be kept private and thus the medics
are compelled to ensure confidentially. However, there are various circumstance in which the
information can be shared. In medical profession, confidentially is paramount and thus patients ought
to be assured of their privacy. Some illnesses such as HIV/AIDS can make the patient traumatized and
thus such information has to remain confidential between the medical practitioner and the patient
(Kuo et al 25). The code of ethics on patient privacy and confidentiality have been supported by
Kantian ethics theory on individual morality. Any behavior leading to exposure of patient

Thanks To Personal Computing Developing Into A Revolutionary
Thanks to personal computing developing into a revolutionary innovation in the early 1970s, 3D
printing was made possible in the late 1980 s. 3D printing technology was at one point only available
for the business elites because of its high cost and limited production by few companies. This
technology in the the late 1980s began as a new additive manufacturing, changing and speeding up
what use to be subtractive manufacturing. Subtractive manufacturing relied on tooling and assembly
lines since it began, 3D printing however made it possible for companies to fabricate prototypes on
demand. However 3D printing is no longer limited to manufacturing, but has developed into various

Stephanie Crawford says SLA Printers work by a focused beam of UV rays on the surface of the
object to be recreated. The CAD designed object is filled with what s called resin (photopolymer).
When the light hits the resin, the liquid hardens to form a high resolution 3D model of the object that
you designed. Hull, a few years later co found 3D Systems Corporation, one of the first companies to
sell a high end 3D printer and still is one of the leading companies with this technology today. Charles
Hull s first RP system, the SLA 1, was revealed in 1987 and quickly followed ongoing testing until
this system was sold in 1988. As always after new technology is discovered, there is always new
competition, in 1987, Carl Deckard, who at the time was working for University of Texas, filed a
patent in the US for the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). SLS method is somewhat similar to
stereolithography (SLA) but instead of using liquid resin, you can use powdered material in the
instead. SLS made it possible to use a variety of materials ceramics, nylon, aluminum, glass and steel
or silver. In 1989 another new Printing process was invented by Scott Crump, he too co found a
leading company today Stratasys Inc. Scotts process was called Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM).
This process is what is widely used by beginners in 3D printing do to its easy refillable and cheap
material. FDM works by melted thermoplastic materials joined together in

Essay On Roanoke Colony
The Lost Colony of Roanoke
Everyone loves a good mystery, especially one that no one can solve. It gives one satisfaction to
imagine that they can decipher it and become a hero, and it s even more intriguing when it has lasted a
few years. Some missing cases have even lasted several decades, but none have persisted as long as a

mystery of The Lost Colonists of Roanoke Island has remained for over 400 years (History), and it
continues to baffle historians, investigators, and archeologists alike.
Preceding Events Besides the doomed colony, England had previous failures on Roanoke. For the
English, making permanent settlements in the New World wasn t a walk in the park. Queen Elizabeth
s ultimate goal was to conquer the New World and have a base to attack incoming Spanish. Sir Walter
Raleigh volunteered for the job, bravely risking himself for the nation s benefit. However, the Queen
and Sir Walter Raleigh were having an affair, and Elizabeth begged him to stay and send soldiers
instead, which he agreed to reluctantly. 1,500 soldiers, artists, and cartographers made the voyage and

The Contribution Of Social Marketing
Definition To lay the basis of critically assessing and outlining the contribution of social marketing to
contemporary marketing thinking, I should first define the possibly obscure meaning of the particular
type of commerce. The initial definition depicts social marketing as the design, implementation and
control of programs calculated to influence the acceptability of social ideas and involving
considerations of product planning, pricing, communication, distribution and marketing research
(Kotler and Zaltman, 1971, p. 5). In Marketing Social Marketing in the Social Change Marketplace
Alan R. Andreasen argues that the given definition does not outline the essence social behavioural
change. In his words, the acceptance of an idea alone does not guarantee the success of influencing
behaviour. The latest interpretation of ISMA solves that problem by stating the outcome explicitly.
(2013). Furthermore, the whole discipline is currently defined as a process that analyses a problem and
gives a solution that answers to the customer s requirements profitably (CIM definition). Companies
use it for raising their income, organisations popularise an activity, etc. It follows that what makes
social marketing unique is its purpose. While any other branch of marketing aims personal benefit, the
ultimate purpose of social marketing is the welfare of the society. Normally the change is either to 1)
accept a new behaviour, 2) reject unwanted potential behaviour, 3) modify

The Theory Of Moral Sentiments And The Wealth Of Nations
How Adam smith can change your life, at the beginning the author gives you a history of Adam smith
and all that he has done. From his books: The theory of moral sentiments and the wealth of nations.
How can someone from two hundred and fifty years ago, a Scottish moral philosopher can still be
relevant currently in 2016. Why is because of the questions that he asked in his two books above some
of which have been through different editions like The Theory of Moral Sentiments. The author of this
book Russ Roberts had not even read the book the Theory of Moral Sentiments until his friend Dan
Klein at George Mason University suggested him to interview him about it on one of his weekly

insight into Smith s life and more importantly his death. No journal or diary survived Smith s death
which surprised me for what type of impact he had back in the 1700s until now (Roberts, p.7). The
author lets you know what is upcoming in the next few chapters and is not giving you too much
information too soon. Even though, Adam Smith is the father of economics this book is not exactly

The Pros And Cons Of Tanning
Tanning has become increasingly popular over years. The question is it beneficial or a bad business
deal to start. The truth is tanning is convenient method utilized by many individuals to gain skin tone
and color, builds self esteem and promote relaxation. It can be beneficial in many aspects of our lives
as well as an alternative to more harmful exposure but there are always risks at everything you do.
Dermatologists today are against it for the simple fact that they believe it causes skin cancer.

artificial sources such as sunlamps utilized in tanning beds increases of developing skin cancer. IRAC

Being capable of doing this would be beneficial to some people because it doesn t take as long and
sitting out in the sun. There is a controlled dosage of the ultraviolet rays to reassure the consumer does
not receive a large amount of UV ray, these dosages should be spread out over several sessions. A
great aspect of tanning is clients get privacy in their own booth. Weight, being too white, tan lines and
uncomfortable bathing suits are not an issue with the tanning beds. Another advantage to tanning is it
is all year round. It doesn t matter if it is snowing or raining outside you can still get the benefit of a
captivating skin color.
Indoor tanning beds can have a negative impact on your skin. It can cause premature wrinkles, rashes,
and can cause cancer. Tanning is like a slow cooker that can slowly affect your skin and your aging
process. When tanning it is suggested to ask the salon staff the recommended exposure limits for your
skin type. Always precautious when you decide to tan for example if you do not wear goggles then it
can damage your ocular perceivers such as losing your vision. Wearing indoor sunscreen would be a
good precaution for your skin and you should consider your medical history for going tanning.
Secondly, knowing the type of bulbs when tanning is very important. The tanning lamps release
ultraviolet rays your body can tan. They contain: inert gasses, a little mercury, and phosphorus
coating.

John F Kennedy Bay Of Pigs Essay
During the same time as Cuba and the Soviet Union s relationship, the significant events of the Bay of
Pigs and Cuban Missile Crisis brought in the United States, Cuba, and Soviet Union into conflict.
John F. Kennedy believed that Castro was becoming a threat and that he would become to powerful.
So on April 16, 1961, the CIA launched the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Over 2,000 Anti Castrolies stormed
up the Bay of Pigs in Southern Cuba. In fact, most of the Anti Castrolies were Cuban exiles who
disagreed with Castro s ideas for Cuba. For some months prior, the CIA had gathered these people to
train for an assassination attempt on Castro. This group was given the codename Brigade 2506, and in

Most missile sites consisted of SA 2 SAMs and MRBMs; most of which were in North Cuba close to
the U.S. Kennedy saw this as a threatening act and called in for a naval quarantine line of ships to
block shipments of missiles. Kennedy did not call it a blockade as that sounded more or less like a
term used in war. Kennedy then ordered for Krushchev to dismantle the sites and return all offense
weapons. Krushchev did not stop but most ships either turned back or had nothing dangerous. On
October 26, close to the missile sites being operational, Krushchev finally considered a deal with
Kennedy to dismantle the sites, for he too feared nuclear confrontation. The deal was that if the U.S.
did not invade Cuba and that they took their Jupiter missiles in Turkey back, the Soviets would take

USDA Failure
The government has different functions, however they all comprise of one goal: which is protecting
the citizens that it encompasses. The Department of Agriculture protects American citizens by creating
a certain criteria for large agribusiness companies to comply with. If they do not follow the safety and
health criteria then the product is not allowed to be sold in the United States. Therefore, the USDA
protects people from the corruption and callous agribusiness companies that only want profit, as well
as exhibits the ineffectiveness of the USDA for preventing the corruption inside the agency by

Andy Dufrense Quotes
I guess it comes down to a simple choice really. Get busy living, or get busy dying. Andy Dufrense the
main character said this quote to red right before he performed his prison break. Andy Dufrense was
sentenced to jail for two life sentences back to back in which he was falsely accused for killing his
wife and her lover. Once Andy landed in jail he became friends with a man named Red, they became
acquainted quickly after their first chat. Not too soon after Andy and Red are tarring the roof of a
license plate factory ad Andy overheard one of the guard talking about the $35,000 he recently came
into and was complaining about the taxes he would have to pay. Andy was a prominent banker back in

I prepared for the hurricane. I knew how bad it looked. I didn t have much time, but in the time I had, I
operated. I had a friend just about the only person who stood by me who worked for an investment
company in Portland. He died about six years ago. (pg.#58). In these two quotes it explains how Andy
prepared for his incarceration and how he knew how life would be extremely tough once he gets out.
He uses an analogy of two men; one of which assumes nothing will happen to him, the other prepares
for the worst that can happen and has every right to hope for the best. In this case Andy is the man
who prepares for the worst, so he knows he will be okay no matter what happens. In the movie Andy
did not speak of this at all, he was incarcerated and later figured how to get money for his escape. This
is a fundamental significant difference, which sets the story and movie in two different directions, but
not too far apart. I believe it was changed up in the movie to make it more interesting or more in the
moment. The book suggests that Andy had a life in plan once he was released or indeed he did plan on
escaping. After all, this shows how Andy planned his life and future outside of

My Favorite Dolls
I remember when I was around 8, in the hot summer, waking up in the morning to my stuffed duck I
would sleep with at my grandma s house. As the sun peeked through the annoying blinds that did not
close all the way, I would get up and head to the living room. Grandma was usually watching her
cooking shows, so I d sit down and watch with her while I waited for my sister to wake up. Grandpa
would just be getting back from hunting, which he would wake up at 4 to go and do. Once my sister
woke up we would all sit down and eat breakfast together. Breakfast usually consisted of pancakes
with too much syrup and a glass of orange juice. Grandma would get on to us if we did not brush our
teeth afterward, so we made sure to do that. After breakfast, we would rush to our playroom to play
with our assortment of dolls. Cabbage patch dolls, Barbie dolls, Polly Pocket dolls, we had them all.
Our favorite dolls were the Hannah Montana Barbie dolls. My sister and I would always fight over
who got Miley and who got Hannah. We also would fight over how we played. What I mean by that is
I always liked to have a storyline to follow. My sister, on the other hand, liked to make it up as we
went along. I feel that this was one of the many reasons my sister did not particularly enjoy playing
with me. Once I got tired of that, I would have my favorite treat, a banana popsicle. I personally hate
the fruit itself but love the flavor of the popsicle. At some point in the day, my sister and I would head

Video Game Aggression
For years, the media, teachers and various types of scientists have made the topic video games and the

the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. Since then, most, if not all instances similar to that have
thought to be linked to videogame violence, which in turn has led to numerous studies about this
topic. But be that as it may the link between violent video games and adolescent aggression is far from

Emile Durkheim Religion Inequality Analysis
Religion in people s lives has been a significant aspect that allows individuals to have an immense
faith on a higher being. This being, known as God for example, has given people beliefs and morals
that affect their social behavior. Although religious beliefs have led to conflicts, it has also led to a
sense of togetherness within different groups. It has created a bond among people who believe, as it is
explained by Emile Durkheim. As an institution, religion has also been seen by many, such as Karl
Marx, to be a tool used for class oppression.
Emile Durkheim saw religion as a functional institution that reaffirms social bonds between people.
As he explains in one of his works, A religion is a unified system of beliefs and practices relative ...

For him, religion can only be understood through economics. Religion it is only used as an excuse to
keep society functioning. If people rely on religion for peace and to forget their worries, they the next
day they are refreshed to continue with their work in society. It is stated in the Andersen textbook that,
religion is a form of false consciousness because it prevents people from rising up against oppression
(331). By promising a better tomorrow, inequality is more bearable. It may bring solace, but it is rather
a simple illusion. As Marx once explained, people are in distress and religion does provide solace, just
as people who are physically injured receive relief from opiate based drugs (Cline 1). However, the
opiate based drugs only provide temporary relief. It does not get rid of the actual problem, which in
this case is the suffering of inequality in a capitalist society.
Durkheim and Marx looked at religion as an institution. Religion is an institution that has had a
persistent impact in society. Both have studied religion and its effects on society. However, Durkheim
has a functionalist point of view, compared to Marx, who sees religion as a cause of conflict. A
functionalist point of view sees religion as a tool of cohesion. As a conflict, religion is only a tool of
oppression and provides a momentary relief that allows the continuation of class

Correlation Between Self Esteem And Healthy Individuals
Studies relating to CNM relationships have not yet begun to explore the individual s self esteem. As
has already been discussed, the research relating to CNM relationships has provided a plethora of
information supporting healthy relationships and healthy individuals. The next step is to explore the
self esteem of these CNM individuals. Therefore, the purpose of this research proposal is to explore
correlations between self esteem scores on the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1989) with
relationship choice, including polyamory, swinging, BDSM and open relationships. The researcher
believes that based on the evidence presented of individuals who engage in CNM having many of the
same traits as those with higher scores on self esteem scales that the individuals who engage in CNM
will also score high on a self esteem scale. (For this proposal non consensual non monogamous
relationships will be considered monogamous as it is assumed that at least one party of the couple
identifies as being in a monogamous relationship.) Specifically, the researcher believes that
individuals involved in consensually non monogamous relationships will have self esteem scores
similar to the general population (See Figure 1). In fact, the researcher believes that the scores will be
scores associated with having high self esteem across all types of consensual non monogamies (See
Figure 2). Method Participants Sample participants would be obtained by attending local lifestyle or

Some cultural tattoos, like ones from Japan, can tell a story or indicate one s social status. People have

Those who endured the experience and survived found camaraderie with other tribal members who

La Reina Del Sur Analysis
In order to fully comprehend the roles of women portrayed within this society, a brief examination of
traditional roles associated with males involved in the narcocultura of Latin America and the
telenovela must transpire. This is because the latter often dictates tremendous proportions of the lives
of the adjoining women. An image of a warrior or Robin Hood like figure is often used to represent
the males in these societies, with a longing to triumph, succeed, and to exude his male energy in many
different ways. Although these attributes appear to be positives they inevitably come at the sacrifice of
their female counterparts. This representation is no different to that seen in La Reina del Sur . Men

The traditional effeminate characteristics portrayed within the psyche of many female characters
introduced in La Reina del Sur not excluding Teresa first presented in Sinaloa, revolve around their
physique and nature, with the outcomes of the female characters often being defined relative to the
impact of the male hero . This issue more often than not leads to female characters being silent,
mistreated, oppressed and/or rescued, perfectly captured through a genuine statement made by the
protagonist s first love El Güero Dávila as he unknowingly encapsulates the insignificance of women
caught in the narco world Porque, si a mí me va muy bien, tí tambíen pero, si me va mal, es requete

had to say completely disregarded her life and opinion. While the telenovela travels through Mexican,
Spanish, Moroccan, Russian and Colombian cultures the prejudices faced by women are unchanging.
The lives of women within the narco world can in no way dictate the lives of the men. Considering
this, the emergence of Teresa as the telenovela develops and her complete ignorance of the traditional
culture sets up the story to not only be considered an entertaining thriller but a means of tackling
cultural flaws that have been seen for

The Ethics Of The Body
... the subject is something which is finally identified to the body as such. So the subjective creation as
a sort of paradigm is only experimentation of the limits of the body. The subject is something like an
experience of its proper limits, an experience of finitude, an experience of the limits of the concrete
unity of the body. But finally, what is a limit of the body, a limit of the living body?
The plenary discussions on corporeality always reconstruct the perception of the body and aim to see

Inclusion In The Inclusive Classroom
Inclusion has been a term stated several times in the past few years in the school system. However, do
you really know what this word means and what inclusion looks like in a classroom? According to the
book, The Inclusive Classroom, The term inclusion has been used to describe the education of
students with disabilities in general education settings (Mastropieri, pg. 6). This term simply means it
is the child s right to participate and the school s responsibility to accept the child in the general
education classroom. Furthermore, mainstreaming differs from inclusion because mainstreaming is
something students earn by demonstrating their skills were sufficient. A critical difference of inclusion
is the view of the general classroom as the primary placement for the student with disabilities, with
other special services regarded as ancillary (page 7). Inclusion plainly means integrating students with

students in the classroom the teacher needs to consider the individual first. Full inclusion is seeing the
whole child in all aspects of life. It involves taking the genuine time to have conversations with the
students still professionally but on a personal level that is caring. Additionally, it is taking the effort to
reach the diversity of students in the classroom and making everyone feel welcomed when coming to

In Defense of Apathy The nice way to put it is blithe or blasé . The blunt way to put it is apathetic . By

because of the people who don t do anything about it. And while it is true that absolute apathy
complete lack of concern for anything or anyone is not something that is desired (or even humanly

Introduction Of Freakonomics By Stephen Dubner And Steve...
As I read through the introduction of Freakonomics by Stephen J. Dubner and Steve Levitt, I m highly
dissatisfied with the way the author opens the book. Personally, I felt like it was well written, but
lacked appeal. To illustrate further, the book starts with information regarding the false predictions of
criminologists of crime rates. However, my feelings are slightly positively changed as I find the author
exposing the hidden side of everything , as he claims (which is also the theme of the book). For
example, as he bypasses the information of the sky high crime rate, he starts talking about a woman
who changed crime rates by legalizing an abortion (which is illegal at the time). Sequentially, he

Examples of this would include when Mr.Dubner and Mr. Levitt relates to the reader on page
seventeen: After all, every one of us regularly passes up opportunities to maim, steal, and defraud. The
chance of going to jail thereby losing your job, your house, and your freedom, all of which are
essentially economic penalties is certainly a strong incentive. I strongly agreed with this statement due
to the fact that even thieves did not steal something everywhere they go. They have incentives, which
the author defines as a means of urging people to do more of a good thing and less of a bad thing.
Which we also all have, which just makes me more fond of the book. This all comes down to how the
parents did not have an incentive for coming to pick up their child on time. After reading that, I

Moreover, another new way of thinking this book caused was due to the common bonds of teachers

Women s Voices Feminist Visions
Will Rogers the famous Vaudeville performer once stated, We will never have true civilization until
we have learned to recognize the rights of others . Rogers statement is a very intelligent one; equal
rights for all people is the next big step for humanity. Susan Shaw states in her book Women s Voices
Feminist Visions, Feminism, of course, affirms and works to maintain difference; it merely asks that
these differences be valued equally . Feminism seeks to create equality amongst men and women, this
means all women regardless of race, ethnicity, class, or sexuality deserve equal rights. Therefore,
LGBT, race, ethnicity, transgender, and reproductive rights are issues of concern to women s rights
activists. Despite the post feminist myth that equality has been reached, there are still multiple
contemporary issues which deserve feminist attention. Violence against women, economic inequality,
and social construction of gender, the body, and sexuality are all issues present in modern society
which are of concern to women s rights activists. Although it takes time, progress is being made
toward total equality thanks to education and activist groups which raise awareness about inequality in
the United States as well as around the world. Feminism is an ideology which aims to create a world
without inequality, specifically gender inequality. Therefore, absolute equality is the central issue for
contemporary feminist advocates.

The Reasons For And Against Euthanasia
1.0 Introduction
Euthanasia is a widely discussed topic around Australia. Many individuals are in favour however,
other individuals are strongly opposed to it. This report will investigate the reasons for and against
euthanasia and suggest amendments to the law to enhance the legislation. Euthanasia should be
governed by legislation however leniency should be extended to certain individuals under strict
guidelines. Establishing the optimal result is very difficult due to the complexity of the subject at
hand. There are also Ethical values to also consider. When the topic at hand is concerned with the life
or death of a person the decision will not be taken lightly.

As research for this paper a survey was conducted of 70 people to assess their knowledge and
understanding of euthanasia. (SurveyMonkey) Of those surveyed, 94% stated they had an
understanding of the topic while 6% stated they had no knowledge.
The priorities as identified by the respondents include:
To die with dignity
The right to end your life
The right to choose your time of death
The choice to end your life
The ending of life using medical drugs
A humane death for people and animals
Assisted death
The term Euthanasia is interpreted differently by many individuals. The reason for this can be because
of personal experience(s) and/or beliefs and feelings.
2.2 Current Legislation
The current legislation that is in place regarding euthanasia is the Euthanasia Laws Act 1997 (Cth) ,

The Klu Klux Klan committed many terrible acts during reconstruction. They murdered and tortured
many people of color and any whites who allied with them. I believe that the K.K.K. was able to

the reconstruction period. Another reason is that the government was in a weakened state. Lastly they
could commit these acts by using justifications for their actions. The reconstruction time period was

Justice In Twelve Angry Men, By Reginald Rose
]In this trial, there are twelve angry men. These men are the jurors deciding a 19 year old s fate of life

dialogue, and imagery. The first way Reginald Rose shows justice is with a couple motifs. Like when
the jurors do the first vote guilty, guilty, guilty, not guilty. (26 Rose) This shows justice on how
everyone thought the boy was mainly guilty in the start cause it s 11 1 guilty. Next, when the jurors

guilty, not guilty, guilty, not guilty, not guilty, guilty, not guilty, guilty. (45 46 Rose) This is starting to
show how that one juror that voted not guilty in the beginning vote is starting to change justice by
changing the other juror s mind because it s 6 6 even on the vote. Then kinda near the last vote there
not guilty, nine, all those voting guilty, three (59 Rose). This shows how now everyone has mostly

  • 2. Analyzing Drum Creation Within The Basongye Bala Tribe Of... Over a period of ten days, Alan Merriam takes his readers on a journey through the Basongye Bala tribe on their quest to create the perfect drum. Drum creation and music in general is an important element to the Basongye culture, this can be witnessed through this study by how detailed and extensive the process for drum making actually is, the Basongye people ensure every groove and nook is in its correct place. Additionally, the author reminds his readers that even though the purpose of this article is to show how the Basongye Bala folks create drums, that it is not the only investigation that will occur. Any ethnographic investigation can lead to almost anything else; one study can inevitably build upon itself (Merriam 74). This ethnographic study was done through observations of the Bala people. As mentioned previously, the purpose of this study is to illustrate drum creation within the Basongye Bala tribe of Lupupa Ngye; it is an ethnographic, as well as, an ethnomusical study. The author clarifies the disparity between Basongye people, how there are actually three groups of the same people. This happened because the original Basongye people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo were temporarily dispersed by the Arabian Slave Wars then they regrouped into three divisions: the Basongye of the East, the Bekalebwe of the South, and lastly, the Bala of the Northeast (Merriam 75). The author continues to tell the readers that his study focuses mainly on the 260 people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Climate Change Is A Terrible Problem Big Polluter Agenda Climate change is a terrible problem, and it absolutely needs to be solved. It deserves to be a huge priority (Bill Gates). As we progress as unified communities, nations, states, cities, etc., we contribute to either a solution or to the problem. Our current government has intents to help these environmental issues yet like any other foreign policy there are two sides to every issue. By definition of foreign policy, which is the articulation of national interests and the means chosen to secure those interests both material and ideational internationally, an environmental issue is a set of predicaments with the planet s systems that have been developed due to human intrusion and mistreatment (Balyis). Environmental issues can range in many aspects from global warming, deforestation, air and water pollution, overpopulation, soil erosion, destruction of biodiversity, littering, destruction of natural habitats and natural resources, attack of marine life, oil spills, nuclear issues, acid deposition, environmental disasters, volcanic eruptions, greenhouse effect, sea level rise, fossil fuels, and species extinction. A current issue being brought up on environmental policies this year is the Big Polluter Agenda in both the House and the Senate. The Big Polluter Agenda is blocking the president s plan to reduce carbon pollution from power plants, forcing approval of the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline, obstructing the limits on smog, stopping the Clean Water ... • 4. High School And College Athletes Wrestling is one of the more difficult sports when it comes to being in high school or college. It is not for everyone the sport is very demanding physically and mentally. To the point where it could seriously injure someone. In wrestling at the beginning of the season you will choose a weight class that you will wrestle for the season. On the day of the meet you have to weigh in and weigh the weight class you chose. Some wrestlers would do just about anything to make weight even if it meant making themselves throw up, dehydrate themselves, or starve themselves. High school and college students at the beginning of the season have to get a body fat percent test done. The lowest body fat percent you can have is seven percent for both high school and college unless you have a doctor s note. There are a lot of students in both high school and college that would go get a doctor s note so they could cut more weight and still be varsity. Most high school and college wrestlers never made the best choices either after a meet. They will eat how they normally do or pig out and gain more weight than what they had to lose. Most colleges and high schools have a meet at least once or twice a week sometimes one during the week and then an all day tournament during the weekend. So for some wrestlers who did not make the best choices would lose an unhealthy amount once or twice a week. Some wrestlers would even take it to the extreme and not eat or drink for a couple of days and put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Kenny Garrett Research Paper Kenny Garrett Kenny Garrett is one of my favorite Alto saxophone players. He was born in Detroit, in 1960 and started to play saxophone in his childhood since his father also played tenor sax. Kenny Garrett s career as a saxophonist started early at the age of 17 with a saxophone spot in Mercer Ellington s revived Ellington Orchestra. And then he seated in Mel Lewis group (a traditional route for young and aspiring jazzers), and performing Charles Mingus music with Dannie Richmond Quartet. Garrett earned a complete musical education, in a series of surprisingly mainstream jazz groups, considering his edgy and experimental, funky style. In December 1984, when he was 24 years old and freelancing in New York City, Kenny Garrett released his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the other part, the tune goes to African style, and Kenny made the connection of those parts. He said that is not only about African Americans, it is the whole black experience. Garrett said, I played it for Pharoah at a sound check and it immediately brought something out of him. He started singing. At that point, I was just so happy that he intuitively understood it. When I wrote it, I had a feeling he d get to it right away be able to go to that place again and reflect on some of the music he s written. This is just the intro, but it falls right in the concept of this project being sketches of larger things. The third tune is Sketches of MD . The name was given to commemorate Miles Davis that Kenny is honor and pleasure in recording and playing for five and half years until Miles passed away. Kenny played colorfully on this tune, it s not about improvisation as much as the melodies. At the ending, Kenny re harmonized the chords over the bass line. That is all learned from the experience with Miles. He did not have plan, and just let it flowed that way. Wayne s Thang and Happy people were also collected in the ... • 6. Methylcyclohexane Lab Report Arenes 5. Introduction In this experiment, the relative rates of free radical chain bromination where determined. Five arenes were used for this comparison along with two controls for each set. One set was kept in the dark while the other was put under light. This allowed for better observation of the reactions, as the light set would proceed fast to show which arenes reacted slowest, while the dark set would proceed slowly to show relative differences between the faster reacting arenes. The time it took for the arenes to react was recorded to determine the relative rates of the reactions. 6. Data and Results The five arenes used for this experiment were toluene, ethylbenzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. All solutions were a dark orange right after the addition of bromine. Toluene had 1º benzylic and 2º aromatic hydrogens. Ethylbenzene had 2º benzylic, 1º aliphatic, and 2º aromatic hydrogens. tert butylbenzene had 1º aliphatic and 2º aromatic hydrogens. Cyclohexane had 2º aliphatic hydrogens and methylcyclohexane had 1º, 2º, and 3º aliphatic hydrogens. In the set that was exposed to light, Ethylbenzene was the first to react. It turned from a dark orange color to a colorless liquid. Next, toluene turned colorless. After that, none of the other solutions turned colorless. However, ... The perceived image of modern terrorism is different than the face of terror in the past, due to the increasing use of technology as a means for aiding extremists and terrorist activities. This paper will argue that modern tactics require different approaches from what has been done in the past to fight terrorism, and explore this difference between this past and present technological recruitment phenomenon. • 10. Analysis of Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely In the book Predictably Irrational, Dan Ariely brings forth the idea that all human behavior is done according to certain patterns; however these patterns are not always the patterns you would think of right off the bat. He leads the reader in a compelling journey into the realm of the human mind, and how humans view the world. For every turn of the page there is something new and surprising. However even with this constant change the book follows the same pattern, proving all thought is irrational. Dan s use of imagery and descriptions along with many studies of how the human mind reacts to certain situations provide a stimulating read for all, regardless of the reader s beliefs. Dan s ability to mix facts with opinion, forcing you to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anyone who reads this will have to wonder if they would do the same thing... The answer is, surprisingly, yes. All people suffer from the same idea that any small amount better is okay, regardless of if it is right to do so, so long as there is no chance of being caught. Now most people would say right away that No, I would not do that , but after reading this book and thinking about this issue, people would say that they would probably cheat on a test for 5 cents, especially if they couldn t be caught. Dan also connects with his readers to interest them in further pursuing these topics. He assumes that people reading this book are college level or higher and frequently references college life. These references serve to make the reader think that not only are these facts he presents valid but also that the reader is involved in this text. As an example Dan talks about the emergency pizza button in MIT s East Campus. Anyone at MIT will instantly relate to this piece of humor he added in. Because Dan knew his audience, he is able to custom create his message for these college students. He does this both by his humor and the choice of studies he uses. All of his studies revolve around college life and/or students relations outside of school. He makes it so thinking comes naturally to those reading it, whether it is a simple thought such as, Hey, I did that , or That s my school , these readers are engaged ... The mainframe is set up for specific applications and those applications only; which is totally different from a Personal Computer (PC). A mainframe runs a custom operating system specifically written for particular applications while a PC has a generic operating system such as Windows and is built to handle many different programs. PC s are multi tasking but not dedicated with control of the resources usually handled by the computer rather than the user having control over the amount of resources used by any given application. The main purpose of a mainframe was to run commercial applications and large scale computing, such as that done by the IRS, and banks where enormous amounts of data are processed sometimes millions of records a day. A typical mainframe has the following characteristics: · A mainframe has several CPUs. · Memory is hundreds of Gigabytes of RAM and It has tons of hard drive storage. · Its processing power is over 550 Mips. · It often has different cabinets for storage, input/ouput and RAM. · Distributes the workload over different processors and input/output devices. Over the next few years, we see it becoming an integral part of our lives, whether it is through smart homes, smart cars or smart health care. Thanks To Personal Computing Developing Into A Revolutionary Thanks to personal computing developing into a revolutionary innovation in the early 1970s, 3D printing was made possible in the late 1980 s. 3D printing technology was at one point only available for the business elites because of its high cost and limited production by few companies. This technology in the the late 1980s began as a new additive manufacturing, changing and speeding up what use to be subtractive manufacturing. Subtractive manufacturing relied on tooling and assembly lines since it began, 3D printing however made it possible for companies to fabricate prototypes on demand. Hull, a few years later co found 3D Systems Corporation, one of the first companies to sell a high end 3D printer and still is one of the leading companies with this technology today. Charles Hull s first RP system, the SLA 1, was revealed in 1987 and quickly followed ongoing testing until this system was sold in 1988. The Contribution Of Social Marketing Definition To lay the basis of critically assessing and outlining the contribution of social marketing to contemporary marketing thinking, I should first define the possibly obscure meaning of the particular type of commerce. The initial definition depicts social marketing as the design, implementation and control of programs calculated to influence the acceptability of social ideas and involving considerations of product planning, pricing, communication, distribution and marketing research (Kotler and Zaltman, 1971, p. 5). In Marketing Social Marketing in the Social Change Marketplace Alan R. Andreasen argues that the given definition does not outline the essence social behavioural change. In his words, the acceptance of an idea alone does not guarantee the success of influencing behaviour. The latest interpretation of ISMA solves that problem by stating the outcome explicitly. (2013). Furthermore, the whole discipline is currently defined as a process that analyses a problem and gives a solution that answers to the customer s requirements profitably (CIM definition). Companies use it for raising their income, organisations popularise an activity, etc. It follows that what makes social marketing unique is its purpose. While any other branch of marketing aims personal benefit, the ultimate purpose of social marketing is the welfare of the society. Diplomacy has the main purpose of securing foreign policies objectives without using force, propaganda, or law and consists of communication between officials (Berridge, 2005, p.1). • 35. Introduction Of Freakonomics By Stephen Dubner And Steve... As I read through the introduction of Freakonomics by Stephen J. Dubner and Steve Levitt, I m highly dissatisfied with the way the author opens the book. Personally, I felt like it was well written, but lacked appeal. To illustrate further, the book starts with information regarding the false predictions of criminologists of crime rates. However, my feelings are slightly positively changed as I find the author exposing the hidden side of everything , as he claims (which is also the theme of the book). For example, as he bypasses the information of the sky high crime rate, he starts talking about a woman who changed crime rates by legalizing an abortion (which is illegal at the time). Sequentially, he explains how the crime drop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Examples of this would include when Mr.Dubner and Mr. Levitt relates to the reader on page seventeen: After all, every one of us regularly passes up opportunities to maim, steal, and defraud. The chance of going to jail thereby losing your job, your house, and your freedom, all of which are essentially economic penalties is certainly a strong incentive. I strongly agreed with this statement due to the fact that even thieves did not steal something everywhere they go. They have incentives, which the author defines as a means of urging people to do more of a good thing and less of a bad thing. Which we also all have, which just makes me more fond of the book. This all comes down to how the parents did not have an incentive for coming to pick up their child on time. After reading that, I thought way more about incentives, and used it in my daily vocabulary often with my twin sister. Moreover, another new way of thinking this book caused was due to the common bonds of teachers and sumo wrestlers, making me compare things that should would not be naturally paired up. For instance, the other day I started thinking about what chairs and people have in common. The author showed that teachers and sumo wrestlers both cheat, a concept that boggled my mind. Due to my background and my observations, I never even dreamed about teachers or sumo ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Women s Voices Feminist Visions Will Rogers the famous Vaudeville performer once stated, We will never have true civilization until we have learned to recognize the rights of others . Rogers statement is a very intelligent one; equal rights for all people is the next big step for humanity. Susan Shaw states in her book Women s Voices Feminist Visions, Feminism, of course, affirms and works to maintain difference; it merely asks that these differences be valued equally . Feminism seeks to create equality amongst men and women, this means all women regardless of race, ethnicity, class, or sexuality deserve equal rights. Therefore, LGBT, race, ethnicity, transgender, and reproductive rights are issues of concern to women s rights activists. Despite the post feminist myth that equality has been reached, there are still multiple contemporary issues which deserve feminist attention. Violence against women, economic inequality, and social construction of gender, the body, and sexuality are all issues present in modern society which are of concern to women s rights activists. Although it takes time, progress is being made toward total equality thanks to education and activist groups which raise awareness about inequality in the United States as well as around the world. Feminism is an ideology which aims to create a world without inequality, specifically gender inequality. Therefore, absolute equality is the central issue for contemporary feminist advocates. • 38. Essay On The Klu Klux Klan The Klu Klux Klan committed many terrible acts during reconstruction. They murdered and tortured many people of color and any whites who allied with them. I believe that the K.K.K. was able to commit these acts without punishment for many reasons. One reason is the amount of violence during the reconstruction period. Another reason is that the government was in a weakened state. Lastly they could commit these acts by using justifications for their actions. The reconstruction time period was full of violence, making it much easier for the K.K.K to get away with their actions. The civil war had just ended and America was in place of chaos when the Klu Klux Klan rose up. The violence was stemmed the racist views that thrived in the south. In 1886, there was a riot between past black soldiers and white people. White police even assisted in the violent rampages. Many people, from all classes, joined the KKK during this time to support white supremacy. The Klan punished newly freed men for many reasons, including not being cooperative with whites, ... Some of the members of the KKK were very powerful men in the towns they resided, for example doctors, lawyers, etc. These were trusted people that easily brought their family and friends into the Klan. The government did not know which people were involved in the KKK and it would have taken a lot of valuable recourses that they did not have after the war, to find out.
