My Special Place Analysis
As I wandered the wide forest surrounding the kingdom I couldn t help but feel a sense of longing. I
always felt that way when I was in a place like this. It was enchanting, comforting, and it was easy to
lose yourself for hours in it. It was the only place wher I could really think. The rest of the time I am
being bombarded with lessons, lectures, and all sorts of other responsibilities. I was the princess of the
kingdom, and I had to be watched and told what too do and how to do it, every. Single. Day. It wasn t
that I didn t enjoy my lessons, I love learning the history of the world, but evryone needs time to be
free, and I didn t get that nearly as often as I needed it. In addition to learning about the world I lived
in I also had to learn about my kingdom. However, I don t know why I needed to because...it waasn t

this place inside of a barrel. It washed ashore a beach, and it was untill I started crying that some elves

kill me right then and there because the elves and the humans did not have much peace between their
races. They did not trust one another. In fact not many races had much peace between the others, and
that was because of a war that tore the world apart. It was called the Black

The Forc In The Help
Anger is a powerful word and emotion that many people refuse to accept. While the manifestations of
anger can be problematic... (Crump), no one could have ever thought that it has a constructive side.
Aristotle said that anyone can be angry, but few who can ... be angry with the right person and to the
right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way . For centuries, anger
was considered ... a sin, a weakness, or a madness and was to be avoided or contained (qtd. in Crump).
Anger can be considered a messenger; a messenger that alerts people or provide them with a clue that
something is going wrong. All people, from different classes, and different origins, can benefit from
anger. They can use it as their teacher, who guides them to the right path. This research paper will
discuss how racism is the mother of all sins , and how anger can be its cure. The Help serves as an

The two colored maids portrayed in the novel are representations of a class of people who have faced
all kinds of maltreatment and remained silent, but revolted against these maltreatments in the end.
Aibileen is a woman who has lost her son Treelore because of the brutal conditions they were living

Information Flowing Through The Bla-To-Pl Projection May
Information flowing through the BLA to PL projection may be the dominant route for reward
behavior. PL is important for the enhancement in reward seeking behavior when the deprived animal
is re exposed to the previously rewarding context (reinstatement)(Gourley Taylor, 2016). PL is also
important for discriminative reward seeking(Sangha et al., 2014). The BLA PL projection is important
for reinstatement. BLA modulates the activity of PL responding to the CS (Gourley Taylor, 2016).
Both IL and PL of the mPFC has reciprocal projections with the BLA. It is unclear the functional
contribution of projections in the reciprocal direction such as PL to BLA projection in fear learning,

During learning, many physiological changes can be found to correlate with behaviors. However
neural correlates that are not part of the dominant circuit may play a modulatory role in affecting
learning rate, or it can have no effect on behavior as they may simply be passive relays from other
structures. Critical structures and their projections are major contributors as the absence of any one of
them will abolish behavior. Dysregulations that abolish behavioral performance must be either part of
or at least influencing critical structures on the circuit. Focusing on circuits that contain only the
necessary components is critical to narrow the search for malfunctioning elements that lead to
downstream changes and cause behavioral impairment. Results from these aims would refine the
current circuit underlying SFRLD. In turn, this information would be vital for electrophysiologically
monitor information flow from major contributors throughout the pathway and set the stage for
identifying cellular level abnormalities from critical structures. In order to restore the behavioral
impairment in safety acquisition and reward regulation, treatment for PTSD AD will need to rescue
dysregulations in the critical structures or pathways.

Most studies look at fear and reward learning separately (Janak Tye, 2015). The research proposed

Escapism In Brave New World Essay
Aldous Huxley s Brave New World demonstrates escapism from reality as one of the major themes.
The opposing forces of happiness and truth are juxtaposed within the novel. Many of the characters go
to extremes in order to avoid the truth in their own situations. This is a motif depicted in our modern
day world as a reality for many people.
Brave New World represents the perfect example of the avoidance of truth. Soma is a drug used by the
characters, and it helps them to deal with unpleasant emotions. In chapter 17, Mustapha claimed, And
if ever, by some unlucky chance, anything unpleasant should somehow happen, why, there s always
soma to give you a holiday from the facts (Huxley 158). Every time the characters feel even the

Superior Anterior Posterior Lesion Case Study
Superior Anterior Posterior lesions (SLAP) of the labrum is a condition which can be considered to be
spread in the male population between the ages 20 to 50. Furthermore, as mentioned by Zhang et al. it
has been reported more than 4000 cases in a year. Additionally, based on medical reports, surgeons are
reporting more surgeries of this type of injury every year. Moreover, it the fastest growing procedure
considering all other surgeries in the outpatient setting. The lesion can be considered of a complex and
comprehensive etiology. Most of the time, the mechanism of injury has been reported to be an extreme

The purpose of physical therapy intervention is to return patients to full functional abilities by
addressing impairments. In many cases, the pathology of the impairments or lesion requires surgical
procedures. Although non invasive interventions as physical therapy should be considered initially. As
mentioned Shin et al. there are protocols previously studied and published that has shown success
instead of surgical interventions. Furthermore, these general guidelines provide the foundation to
avoid tissue disruption, respecting the healing time frame of the tissue. Additionally, they implement a
passive range of motion (PROM) to prevent contractures and maintain the range of motion. Finally,
they focus on strength as it has no time constraint. As mentioned by Wilk and Leonard4 it has been
found most shoulder lesions can be rehabilitated conservative without requiring operation.4
Furthermore, it can be speculated that rehabilitation after a required surgery is critical to return the
patients to their functional goals. Additionally, a concrete designed rehabilitation program to increase
the range of motion, strength, endurance while increasing the stability of the shoulder is a determinant
factor as seen in athletes.4 As mentioned by Dodson and Altchek5 they proposed a conservative
guideline. Based on their guidelines there are 6 stages in the recovery process. On the

Lake Tahoe and the Growing Importance for Environmental...
Lake Tahoe, an enormous expanse of clear, blue, fresh water surrounded by meadows and dense
forests and rimmed by snow capped peaks, is one of the world s great scenic and ecological wonders.
Tahoe s water is world famous for its amazing clarity. Even today, one can see objects 70 feet below
the surface, a clarity matched almost nowhere in the world. The Tahoe Basin had a slowly evolving
and essentially balanced environment for thousands of years, with surrounding forests, meadows and
marshlands helping to maintain the clarity and purity of the lake. This pristine environment also
provided habitat for great diversity of plants and wildlife. Hundreds of species of native plants thrived
in forest, marsh, and meadow. But now, in scarcely a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As is indicated by the data, the area grew at a high rate before the establishment of TRPA. Also
included in the table, is the summer population. This data is important to examine in order to
understand the drastic population fluctuation s impact on the Tahoe Basin. It is also vital for
understanding the reason behind TRPA being formed, in order to increase environmental conservation
and awareness. Another indicator of this secondary population is the amount of vacant housing due to
seasonal or recreational use as a proportion of the amount of housing in the basin. The percentage of
outside of area owners of housing and condominiums indicates that most residences are not owner
occupied or are vacant for occasional use. Finally, the median single family housing price shows an
increasing problem in the Tahoe basin, that housing is becoming less and less affordable in the area.
The permanent population is now about 54,000, and as many as 200,000 people visit during the
busiest summer weekends. A tremendous portion of this population growth is due in large part in the
Lake Tahoe area to the Geriatrification of the available property. The Baby Boomers who are buying
second homes and retiring in unprecedented numbers have recently surpassing all other age groups in
the home purchasing market in the region of Lake Tahoe. This is a large group of people who are just

Sparkly Tutu Essay
A Girl in a Sparkly Tutu When I grow up I am going to be a ballerina, truck driver, who rides a
motorcycle, shouted the small girl in a bright pink tutu under the scorching lights at her Kindergarten
graduation. I was this small girl and I have always been the child who wanted to break away from the
pack and be different from everyone else. I may no longer want to be a ballerina, for I realized my
hatred for itchy tights, or a truck driver, I am unable to sit for that long, but I still seem to dream big

me. It seems I have found that the way to stand out from others is to be the leader that they can follow.
I have always been a people person and seem to feed off of other s ideas and needs. It is the people
that I meet in my job, clubs, and activities, that make me long for more in my life and to help them

Taking a Look at Tessellations
Most people recognize the artistry of walls in ancient palaces, of mosaic pictures, and even of
honeycombs. Likewise, the artistry and intricacies of M.C. Escher s drawings astound most people.
When we look at these objects and artwork we recognize the shapes within them; we see squares,
hexagons and other shapes without giving them much thought. We might not even know that these
patterns of shapes have a name, and we certainly do not think of mathematics when we see them. But,
in fact, these patterns or tessellations are part of the field of geometry.
When a space is covered with a pattern of flat shapes with no overlaps or gaps it is known as a
tessellation or a tilling. Tessellations have been around for many centuries and in many different
cultures and are still prevalent today. In Latin the word tesserae means small stone cube they were
used to make up tessellata the mosaic pictures forming floors and tiling in Roman buildings. Making a
repeating pattern with a regular polygon creates regular tessellations. Triangles, squares and hexagons
are the only three shapes that can make a regular tessellation. In order for a tessellation to be regular
the pattern is identical at each vertex. A tessellation created with two or more regular polygons is
known as a semi regular tessellation. Just like in a regular tessellation in a semi regular tessellation the
pattern at each vertex is the same. The third type of tessellation is a demi regular tessellation however

The pressure to be physically perfect is so severe in dance studios today that young women and girls
often suffer from a disease, anorexia nervosa. This disorder also affects male dancers, other men,
young girls and women, and even children as young as four years of age (Cohen). An estimated 0.5 to
3.7 percent of females suffer from anorexia nervosa in their lifetime (NIMH). However, anorexia is
more severe and most recognized in the dance studio in the female dancers.
Anorexia is an emotional and physical illness in which a person refuses to eat. This can be a fatal
disorder. The word anorexia means without appetite; nervosa means nervous. Hence, anorexia nervosa
is best translated as a nervous loss of appetite. Anorexics are extremely hungry most of the time and
extremely underweight, but they refuse to eat because of their fear of gaining weight (Anorexia
Nervosa, Wuhl 483). This disorder often includes depression, irritability, withdrawal, and peculiar
behaviors such as compulsive rituals, strange eating habits, and division of foods into good/bad and
safe/dangerous categories (Anorexia Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders Inc., Mitchell 11). Dieting
may represent avoidance of, or ineffective attempts to cope with the demands of a new life stage such
as adolescence (American Academy). For dancers, this eating disorder can be brought on if a dancer
changes studios and needs to reestablish her place in the hierarchy. If a

Religion In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market discusses two sisters who try to resist the fruit sold by Goblin men,
but one sister decides to eat the fruit anyways despite her sister s warning. This leads to horrible
consequences for Laura, yet later on she is saved by her sister s, Lizzie, actions. There seems to be a
great debate on whether or not this poem is a Christian allegory. Religion was a major trait of the
Victorian era, with Christian beliefs presented throughout many literary works and art pieces.
Christina Rossetti, herself, was deeply influenced by religion and governed herself by strict religious
principles. Her beliefs are widely seen throughout many of her works, especially that of Goblin
Market. This poem not only support the religious argument by depicting the story of Adam and Eve,
but by also displaying devotional symbolism throughout. Religion was a crucial and important factor

why it is believed to be connected to religious views(Taft 326). The presence of religion can

influenced her greatly when writing. Religion was very important to her and became the major focus
of her life. Her writing was charged with a great amount of religious undertones, and her poem,
Goblin Market, is credited by some to be one of her most spiritual works. Many readers seem to

At the beginning of the1900s these inequalities were remedied, somewhat by government action.
Legislature to protect workers from unfair labor practices and to regulate private industries were

Medical Experiments During The Third Reich
Have you ever heard of the Nazi Party led by Adolf Hitler, the Holocaust, or even the medical
experiments of the SS? Well, get ready to learn about it. Adolf Hitler was an anticommunist that
fought for Germany in WWI. He was the leader of the Nazi s. The Holocaust was a genocide in which
Adolf Hitler s Nazi Germany and its collaborators killed about six million Jews. The medical
experiments of the SS were experiments performed by doctors on prisoners. During World War II, a
number of German physicians conducted painful and often deadly experiments on thousands of
concentration camp prisoners without their consent. Unethical medical experimentation carried out
during the Third Reich may be divided into three categories. The three categories consisted of
experiments aimed at facilitating the survival of Axis military personnel. The second category of
experimentation aimed at developing and testing pharmaceuticals and treatment methods for injuries
and illnesses which German military and occupation personnel encountered in the field. While the
third category of medical experimentation sought to advance the racial and ideological tenets of the
Nazi worldview (https://www.ushmm.org). Doctors have always been thought of as the saviors of

Why I Am A Doctor
Ever since I was ten, I knew what I wanted to grow up to become, a doctor. Eight years later, and I
still have not completely decide on what type of physician I want to be. This is because every career in
the medical field interests me. However, when I decided on this career field, I knew one thing for sure.
I knew it entailed several different science courses. I was happy with this because I always loved
science. What I did not realize was the fact that it also meant I would have to take two semesters of
English after high school. I never had as much interest in English as I did for most other subjects.
Therefore, due to my lack of interest, English was always an area where I struggled. That is the
reason, when I signed up for classes for my first semester at Wayne State University, I was hesitant to
sign up for English 1020. Even though I was hesitant, I knew this was a course I had to take. I
promised myself that I would take this class, and I would put in much more effort than I had
previously. This effort was mainly enforced because of the extremely high standards that medical
schools hold their applicants to (the average GPA to get into the Wayne State Medical School is 3.75).
Since the beginning of this class, I have improved in each of the writing outcomes, which include
reading, writing, researching, and reflecting, due to the effort I have put into excelling in this class.
The first, and the most basic, learning outcome that was focused upon in class is reading.

Symbolism In George Orwell s 1984
Lily Freeland Miss Finstuen AP English Literature 29 May 2018 Symbolism of Freedom and Control
In his dystopian novel, 1984, George Orwell creates a state of terror and secrecy. Eliminating the
human right of freedom through expression of emotion, Orwell presents a somber and isolating world
that triggers rebellion against the Party by protagonist, Winston Smith. By use of symbolism in the
novel, Winston strives for freedom in the prison of his society. In the novel, privacy does not exist.
The telescreens scattered in abundance across the state serve as a reminder of the power the Party has
over its citizens. Extremely oppressive in nature, the Party seeks to control its people by use of
constant monitorization. In view of the telescreens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The freedom of his diary relates to the thrush bird mentioned in the novel. Similar to the symbolic
meaning of the diary, the singing bird serves as a symbol for Winston s search for freedom by trying to
understand it. In this way, the thrush is symbolic of emotion. With Julia and WInston away from their
oppressive society, Orwell acknowledges the freedom of the bird in comparison to their confinement,
describing, It was in the sun, they in the shade (...). The thrush is free to live life as it chooses,
enlightened in the sun (...) whereas Winston and Julia must live in accordance to what the Party, their
society, tells them. The two notice the thrush s unfettered singing, and Orwell brings into question, For
whom, for what, was that bird singing? No mate, no rival was watching it. What made it sit at the edge
of the lonely wood and pour its music into nothingness? (...). This suggests that the bird is singing
simply for the enjoyment of it, or the emotion of it. The thrush thus has no social obligations or
societal expectations that are causing it to sing. The bird is free. This stands out to Winston and
triggers a spark of emotion in him. Human emotion has been eradicated from society by the Party as it
is a means of freedom and expression, thus marking it a threat to the Party. Winston recognizes the
bird s freedom and embraces it. Orwell explains this, saying, It was as though it were a kind of liquid
stuff that poured all over him and got mixed up with the sunlight that filtered through the leaves. He
stopped thinking and merely felt (...). Winston experiences a freedom in himself as he is able to feel
emotion. In this way, he may finally feel sexual desire for Julia. The strength of raw human emotion in
the form of sexual desire gives Winston a deeper understanding of freedom as well as a heightened
sense of personal freedom overall. Such emotion, symbolized by the

attention from children and their owners, but what happens when the pets grow and get older? Not
every pet is brought to or born into a responsible home. Some pets that are no longer wanted, are left

also depends on the size and breed of the dog; large dogs can carry more puppies. So, it s important to
have pets spayed and neutered, at least after 2 litters. According to Hill County Paw Pals, the root of
pet overpopulation stems for irresponsible people who allow their pets to remain unsterilized, run at
large, and to breed at will. Lately, Raymondville has had an increase of strays, mostly dogs that roam
around from house to house. It used to be just out of town where people would leave or dump their
dogs, puppies, old dogs, and pregnant female dogs. It s unfortunate that some owners feel they cannot
provide, or find, pets a new home, and thus throw them away. Right now, there is nothing being done

The Logical Problem Of Evil Essay
In this paper I will discuss the logical problem of evil and how it seems to reject the existence of God
as an omni 3 being. I will first layout the logical problem of evil, and then I will explain why it
succeeds in disproving the existence of God. I do this through pointing out the contradictions between
the definition of God as an omni 3 being and the problem of redeemed and unredeemed evil. As well
as by proving that admittance of evil in any way when in reference to the choices of God invalidates
the omni 3 definition of God. I will address claims from those who believe in God about justification
of evil as well as the concept and depth of human understanding.
The logical problem of evil is almost as old as the concept of an omni 3 being as the one true God.
God in this context being a mix of the Judeo Christian belief that God is the Greatest Conceivable
Being (GCB). Being the GCB implies 3 things: God is all good (Omnibenevolent), all knowing
(Omniscient), and all powerful (Omnipotent), this is commonly referred to as omni 3. This argument
boils down to a simple three part argument structure:
1. If God, as an omni 3 being, exists then evil can not exist at all.
2. Evil clearly exists.
3. As a result, God as omni 3 can not exist.
This is a very simple argument; premise, interference, implied contradiction, and a conclusion. It is
simply through an application of modus ponens that, some believe, we are able to disprove the
existence of God as an Omni 3 being.

The Graduate Film Analysis
The Graduate, a film directed by Mike Nichols in 1976, is a film that has influenced the way I view
the world. It is a story of a college graduate, Benjamin Braddock (played by Dustin Hoffman), who
finds himself trapped in the superficial or plastic world around him. Because of this, he feels trapped,
depressed, and insecure about his future. This makes him an easy target for Mrs. Robinson (played by

Psychosexual Stages And Societal Structure
Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure
Nathanael D. Evans
Montana State University Billings Abstract
This paper assumes that Sigmund Freud s theory of psychosexual stages in childhood development is
accurate. Given the information we have on Freud s idea of fixations, and their causes, I will explore
how societal structure would need to shift towards an acute focus on childhood in order to eliminate as
much abnormality as possible from the adulthood of all individuals that make up a society. I will also
speculate on ideas for streamlining childhood development, by treating it as an assembly line process.
My points will be highly figurative, as the implementation of the ideas contained herein would not be
possible without removing rights from the populace. However, we must assume, in the spirit of this
exercise, that implementation can occur, and that the theories being examined are accurate in all cases
of abnormality. Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure
If we are to assume that the earliest experiences of an individual influence their later personality traits,
then it should be assumed that the structure of our society should revolve around a universal set of
guidelines for child rearing, so as to avoid abnormality in the individual in later life. On the larger
scale, if all individuals are raised in identical fashion, societal structure would be uniform. Sigmund
Freud referred to the stages of childhood development as psychosexual stages. Freud believed

Abstract
This paper explores the change that General Motors faced after the economic recession and credit
crisis that began in 2007. This pushed GM to request assistance from the U.S. Treasury which resulted
in the restructuring of their US operations. The start of this restructuring change involved downsizing
GM s operations in the US. Along with the mandate imposed from the US government GM engaged in
downsizing to reduce costs, and to cope with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
GM s structural change is an example of retrenchment, which is done by centralizing/specializing a
firm s operations to sustain or improve productivity (Palmer et al., 2009).
Downsizing is generally regarded as midrange or second order change . A second order change is
transformational, radical, and fundamentally alters the organization at its core. Second order change
entails not developing but transforming the nature of the organization (Palmer et al., 2009).
Furthermore, GM s downsizing can be seen as a type 2 transformation, which involves the
revitalization of already established companies... where the organization remains in the same market
but focuses on how to rebuild itself in order to operate more effectively (Palmer et al., 2009). GM
remained in the automotive industry but needed to restructure and downsize in order to mitigate the
effects of the economic recession.
In its restructuring, GM closed plants, cut its workforce, shed three brands, reduced debt, introduced
popular new vehicles, and implemented changes to reduce retiree legacy costs, which had been a
major financial drain (Canis Webel, 2013). Cuts were made based on whether a person s position was
deemed redundant, the level of their subject matter expertise, and performance reviews (Smerd, 2009).
As outlined in Table 1 more than 2,000 dealerships were closed, as GM shed its

Patients in Breast augmentation recovery are usually asked to limit physical exertion for 3 to 7 days

The Cherokee was one of the many native american tribes that was affected by the arrival of the

more than just medicine but also traditional Cherokee rituals. The Cherokee s culture was greatly
affected by colonization because many of the important aspects of their culture changed. This can be
proven from an excerpt from americanhistory.com which states As British and French colonial
aspirations began to clash, the Cherokee became increasingly important as a buffer and continued to
alternate alliances between the two nations This is explaining the spark of a war that was known as the

Clockwork orange is a book that talks about a young man named Alex and his gang that just go around

Jane Yolen Cinderella
Jane Yolen discusses the variations in Cinderella throughout history in America s Cinderella Yolen
began a career in publications as an editor and later became a professional writer, winning numerous
awards and publishing over seventy novels. Yolen observes that the European Cinderella and the

evolution to cultural incorporations and mass market s reproductions of the tale. American
interpretations of Cinderella result in a lasting change to a dependent heroine. Yolen reveals many
people are familiar with the changed Cinderella and not the former Cinderella. In Jane Yolen s essay,
America s Cinderella , she denounces the debasement of women in today s society by comparing the

The growth of Microsoft has negatively influenced the freedom of the employees. The introduction of
regulation has increased bureaucracy. Microsoft scores high on checking, documentation,
measurement and rationalization. The desired culture would be to score lower on procedure to
enhance creativity and flexibility.
How does it fit with the strategy and culture?
The strategy of Microsoft is to have a computer on every desk installed with Microsoft. A high
performance culture plays a key role in Microsoft. In this culture excellent performance, knowledge,
commitment, motivation, autonomy, teamwork and loyalty are only a few of the important norms,
values, habits and routines important when desiring and maintaining a high performance culture.
Mutual investment should keep employers and employees happy and help maintain the environment
and culture Microsoft is in.
There are four major culture types within an organization, namely the Clan, Adhocracy, Hierarchy and
the Market (Kim amp; Quinn, 1999). These four cultures are translated into a model, named the
Competing Values Framework. This framework shows the cultures, organized between two
dimensions. The framework shows which culture coincides with which dimension, to show the
effectiveness of the organization and the organizational culture.

As I have already mentioned in the biography chapter, Beckett read various philosophical treatises; he
was mostly interested in Descartes, Schopenhauer, and Geulincx. These thinkers are the main sources
which influenced and formed Beckett s view of the world as well as his literary writings.

How The Profit Can Be Increase By Judged The Average...
Introduction:
The main reason for this survey is to analyse how the profit can be increase by judged the average
number of floor spaces or sales staff employed in a large retail chain. By observing the averages that
have been calculated in the Excel Spread Sheet for takings, floor spaces and staff number. it can be
possible to deduct which department needs further development and how it can be developed.
Using a simplistic mathematical scheme to serve in making the right decision, it will be explained how
to grow the profit with neither more nor less information than what was provided in the dataset.
Conclusion: An average number typically suggests the mean value in a data set; however, in this
analyse has been used two different types of averages which are: the mean and median. As the mean is
considered to be the one giving the most accurate information about the average number of takings
since it s about adding up all the numbers form the data set and divided them by the total while the
median represents only the value that stands in the middle of the data set; in that way resulting a
common mistake such as: leaving one of the averages aside and not analysing the accurate information
from the data set. However, there are no evidences to prove that both numbers are correct, as both are
considered to be types of averages in statistics. On the column chart provided below representing the
average takings for All Outlets, it can be seen a massive dropdown

However neural correlates that are not part of the dominant circuit may play a modulatory role in affecting learning rate, or it can have no effect on behavior as they may simply be passive relays from other structures. Critical structures and their projections are major contributors as the absence of any one of them will abolish behavior. Dysregulations that abolish behavioral performance must be either part of or at least influencing critical structures on the circuit. Focusing on circuits that contain only the necessary components is critical to narrow the search for malfunctioning elements that lead to downstream changes and cause behavioral impairment. Results from these aims would refine the current circuit underlying SFRLD. In turn, this information would be vital for electrophysiologically monitor information flow from major contributors throughout the pathway and set the stage for identifying cellular level abnormalities from critical structures. In order to restore the behavioral impairment in safety acquisition and reward regulation, treatment for PTSD AD will need to rescue dysregulations in the critical structures or pathways. This data is important to examine in order to understand the drastic population fluctuation s impact on the Tahoe Basin. It is also vital for understanding the reason behind TRPA being formed, in order to increase environmental conservation and awareness. Another indicator of this secondary population is the amount of vacant housing due to seasonal or recreational use as a proportion of the amount of housing in the basin. The percentage of outside of area owners of housing and condominiums indicates that most residences are not owner occupied or are vacant for occasional use. • 9. Taking a Look at Tessellations Most people recognize the artistry of walls in ancient palaces, of mosaic pictures, and even of honeycombs. Likewise, the artistry and intricacies of M.C. Escher s drawings astound most people. When we look at these objects and artwork we recognize the shapes within them; we see squares, hexagons and other shapes without giving them much thought. We might not even know that these patterns of shapes have a name, and we certainly do not think of mathematics when we see them. But, in fact, these patterns or tessellations are part of the field of geometry. When a space is covered with a pattern of flat shapes with no overlaps or gaps it is known as a tessellation or a tilling. Tessellations have been around for many centuries and in many different cultures and are still prevalent today. In Latin the word tesserae means small stone cube they were used to make up tessellata the mosaic pictures forming floors and tiling in Roman buildings. Making a repeating pattern with a regular polygon creates regular tessellations. Triangles, squares and hexagons are the only three shapes that can make a regular tessellation. In order for a tessellation to be regular the pattern is identical at each vertex. A tessellation created with two or more regular polygons is known as a semi regular tessellation. Just like in a regular tessellation in a semi regular tessellation the pattern at each vertex is the same. The third type of tessellation is a demi regular tessellation however ... The pressure to be physically perfect is so severe in dance studios today that young women and girls often suffer from a disease, anorexia nervosa. This disorder also affects male dancers, other men, young girls and women, and even children as young as four years of age (Cohen). An estimated 0.5 to 3.7 percent of females suffer from anorexia nervosa in their lifetime (NIMH). However, anorexia is more severe and most recognized in the dance studio in the female dancers. Anorexia is an emotional and physical illness in which a person refuses to eat. This can be a fatal disorder. The word anorexia means without appetite; nervosa means nervous. Hence, anorexia nervosa is best translated as a nervous loss of appetite. Religion In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market discusses two sisters who try to resist the fruit sold by Goblin men, but one sister decides to eat the fruit anyways despite her sister s warning. This leads to horrible consequences for Laura, yet later on she is saved by her sister s, Lizzie, actions. There seems to be a great debate on whether or not this poem is a Christian allegory. This is because every career in the medical field interests me. However, when I decided on this career field, I knew one thing for sure. I knew it entailed several different science courses. I was happy with this because I always loved science. What I did not realize was the fact that it also meant I would have to take two semesters of English after high school. I never had as much interest in English as I did for most other subjects. Therefore, due to my lack of interest, English was always an area where I struggled. That is the reason, when I signed up for classes for my first semester at Wayne State University, I was hesitant to sign up for English 1020. Even though I was hesitant, I knew this was a course I had to take. I promised myself that I would take this class, and I would put in much more effort than I had previously. Symbolism In George Orwell s 1984 Lily Freeland Miss Finstuen AP English Literature 29 May 2018 Symbolism of Freedom and Control In his dystopian novel, 1984, George Orwell creates a state of terror and secrecy. Eliminating the human right of freedom through expression of emotion, Orwell presents a somber and isolating world that triggers rebellion against the Party by protagonist, Winston Smith. By use of symbolism in the novel, Winston strives for freedom in the prison of his society. In the novel, privacy does not exist. The telescreens scattered in abundance across the state serve as a reminder of the power the Party has over its citizens. Extremely oppressive in nature, the Party seeks to control its people by use of constant monitorization. In view of the telescreens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The freedom of his diary relates to the thrush bird mentioned in the novel. Similar to the symbolic meaning of the diary, the singing bird serves as a symbol for Winston s search for freedom by trying to understand it. In this way, the thrush is symbolic of emotion. With Julia and WInston away from their oppressive society, Orwell acknowledges the freedom of the bird in comparison to their confinement, describing, It was in the sun, they in the shade (...). The thrush is free to live life as it chooses, enlightened in the sun (...) whereas Winston and Julia must live in accordance to what the Party, their society, tells them. The two notice the thrush s unfettered singing, and Orwell brings into question, For whom, for what, was that bird singing? No mate, no rival was watching it. What made it sit at the edge of the lonely wood and pour its music into nothingness? (...). This suggests that the bird is singing simply for the enjoyment of it, or the emotion of it. The thrush thus has no social obligations or societal expectations that are causing it to sing. The bird is free. This stands out to Winston and triggers a spark of emotion in him. Human emotion has been eradicated from society by the Party as it is a means of freedom and expression, thus marking it a threat to the Party. Winston recognizes the bird s freedom and embraces it. Orwell explains this, saying, It was as though it were a kind of liquid stuff that poured all over him and got mixed up with the sunlight that filtered through the leaves. He stopped thinking and merely felt (...). Winston experiences a freedom in himself as he is able to feel emotion. In this way, he may finally feel sexual desire for Julia. The strength of raw human emotion in the form of sexual desire gives Winston a deeper understanding of freedom as well as a heightened sense of personal freedom overall. • 19. The Logical Problem Of Evil Essay In this paper I will discuss the logical problem of evil and how it seems to reject the existence of God as an omni 3 being. I will first layout the logical problem of evil, and then I will explain why it succeeds in disproving the existence of God. I do this through pointing out the contradictions between the definition of God as an omni 3 being and the problem of redeemed and unredeemed evil. As well as by proving that admittance of evil in any way when in reference to the choices of God invalidates the omni 3 definition of God. I will address claims from those who believe in God about justification of evil as well as the concept and depth of human understanding. The logical problem of evil is almost as old as the concept of an omni 3 being as the one true God. God in this context being a mix of the Judeo Christian belief that God is the Greatest Conceivable Being (GCB). Being the GCB implies 3 things: God is all good (Omnibenevolent), all knowing (Omniscient), and all powerful (Omnipotent), this is commonly referred to as omni 3. This argument boils down to a simple three part argument structure: 1. If God, as an omni 3 being, exists then evil can not exist at all. 2. Evil clearly exists. 3. As a result, God as omni 3 can not exist. This is a very simple argument; premise, interference, implied contradiction, and a conclusion. It is simply through an application of modus ponens that, some believe, we are able to disprove the existence of God as an Omni 3 being. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evans Montana State University Billings Abstract This paper assumes that Sigmund Freud s theory of psychosexual stages in childhood development is accurate. Given the information we have on Freud s idea of fixations, and their causes, I will explore how societal structure would need to shift towards an acute focus on childhood in order to eliminate as much abnormality as possible from the adulthood of all individuals that make up a society. I will also speculate on ideas for streamlining childhood development, by treating it as an assembly line process. My points will be highly figurative, as the implementation of the ideas contained herein would not be possible without removing rights from the populace. However, we must assume, in the spirit of this exercise, that implementation can occur, and that the theories being examined are accurate in all cases of abnormality. Psychosexual Stages and Societal Structure If we are to assume that the earliest experiences of an individual influence their later personality traits, then it should be assumed that the structure of our society should revolve around a universal set of guidelines for child rearing, so as to avoid abnormality in the individual in later life. On the larger scale, if all individuals are raised in identical fashion, societal structure would be uniform. Sigmund Freud referred to the stages of childhood development as psychosexual stages. Some of the problems were due to the lack of rain which made it difficult for sharecroppers to stay on the farmer s land because there was no income coming from the land the families were supposed to be taking care of. • 38. How The Profit Can Be Increase By Judged The Average... Introduction: The main reason for this survey is to analyse how the profit can be increase by judged the average number of floor spaces or sales staff employed in a large retail chain. By observing the averages that have been calculated in the Excel Spread Sheet for takings, floor spaces and staff number. it can be possible to deduct which department needs further development and how it can be developed. Using a simplistic mathematical scheme to serve in making the right decision, it will be explained how to grow the profit with neither more nor less information than what was provided in the dataset. Conclusion: An average number typically suggests the mean value in a data set; however, in this analyse has been used two different types of averages which are: the mean and median. As the mean is considered to be the one giving the most accurate information about the average number of takings since it s about adding up all the numbers form the data set and divided them by the total while the median represents only the value that stands in the middle of the data set; in that way resulting a common mistake such as: leaving one of the averages aside and not analysing the accurate information from the data set. However, there are no evidences to prove that both numbers are correct, as both are considered to be types of averages in statistics. On the column chart provided below representing the average takings for All Outlets, it can be seen a massive dropdown ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
