The Future Of Qantas Airways
Qantas Airways Limited has a very long and extensive history of operating in the continent of
Australia. It holds the honor of currently being the largest airline in Australia and one of the oldest in
the world. It is impossible to link the history of aviation in Australia without the thought of Qantas. On
November 16th, 1920, Qantas, known as the flying kangroo, was founded in a remote area of
Australia, known as Winston, Queensland. It was originally known as Queensland and Northern
Territory Aerial Services Limited, founded by Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinness, Fergus McMaster, and
Arthur Baird. Like most air services during this time, it was initially founded to operate airmail
services funded by the Australian government. By 1929, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Qantas s first flight for the A 380 was Melbourne to Los Angeles. In October 2001, Qantas created a
regional carrier known as Jetstar Airways, which took its first flight in December 2004, flying from
Singapore to Hong Kong. Qantas currently flies the world s longest route on its Sydney to Dallas
Worth, covering 13,800 kilometers in around 14 hours and hopefully by 2017 Qantas will fly the
14,000 kilometer trip between Perth, Australia and London, England (Ryan, 2015).
Jetstar
Jetstar is the low cost carrier operated by Qantas. An example of this in the United States is the major
carrier Skywest operates its regional low cost carrier Expressjet. Qantas Airlines created Jetstar in
2003 as a low cost carrier to transport passengers to major hubs where they could connect to Qantas
and reach their destinations. Jetstar has its headquarters located in Melbourne, Australia. As of 2015,
Jetstar Airlines operates 121 aircraft, 111 of these aircraft are short haul that is what most low cost
regional carriers operate. Short haul means that the total flight time is less than five hours. Although,
this does not mean that they do not operate long haul flights, flights over five hours in flight time, as
they have eleven of these particular aircraft. Currently, the Jetstar Group offers flights to 60 different
destinations in 17 different

Re-Constructive Surgery And Aesthetic Surgery
Aesthetic and Re constructive Surgery
These are two surgical specialties that involve the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the
human body. Re constructive surgery aims to reconstruct a part of the body or improve its functioning
and Aesthetic surgery aims at improving the appearance of it.
Re constructive surgeons use these surgical techniques to manage increasingly complex wounds like
severe burns and to grow additional bone, skin or other tissues. This ranges from very simple
techniques such as primary closure and dressings to more complex skin grafts, tissue expansion and
free flaps. It provides the body with near perfect match in color and texture.
Aesthetic surgery procedures include Breast Reduction Surgery (which helps

Analysis of HBS case on Charlotte Beers at Ogilvy ...
1. Unfreezing a fragmented Ogilvy Mather out of the Ice Age. Charlotte Beers tries to turn around
Ogilvy by implementing a strategy based on differentiation. However, Ogilvy s organisation and
culture are obstacles to this process. She has therefore to unfreeze the situation first to allow change to
be implemented through a communal culture and a collaborative organisation. Evidence of a crisis are
numerous: Major accounts have been lost (Amex); Revenues and earnings are in decline; Agencies
services are increasingly commodities; Staff morale is low; O M culture is fragmented. It is low on
both sociability and solidarity as defined by Goffee and Jones. Individual offices are run
independently (low solidarity) and the historical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Chewton Glen Declaration is also compromise prowess to nurture Beer s network. Apparently
adressing O Dea, Wright, Harry and Reid s request for a strategy, it is actually Beers vehicle to
connect personally with them. Thus, point 1 addresses O Dea frustrations, point 2 favours Wright s
integrated approach and point 3 is along Reid and Thedens financial discipline priority. The only
reported structural outcome, the WCS division, is also telling. WCS supervisors are instantly an
influential network for Beers ideas: üTheir past status was unsatisfactory (= low resistance to change);
üTheir exposure to global accounts goes Beer s way; üThey have extra credibility as insiders. As a
result, Ogilvy s vision is a masterpiece that: üAligns the core disciplines around a shared concept (
brands ); üAppeals to its internal audience (O M staff value their O M brand); üIncreases solidarity
through its shared goals; üAppeals to customers too. 3. Keep moving people, start moving boxes and
bucks too. Charlotte Beers immediate challenge is to refine her vision into a strategy. To establish
goals and allocate resources in a comprehensive manner will require a more structured

Nicola Sacco Essay
In this world, anything can happen. We can drive, text, and be framed for murder. Yeah, being framed
for murder. That s what happened to Nicola Sacco. We should start at the beginning.
Nicola Sacco was born in the Italian town of Torremaggiore on 22nd April, 1891. He emigrated to the
United States when he was seventeen. Sacco found work in a shoe factory in Stoughton,
Massachusetts. He got married and started a family. Sacco also became involved in left wing politics
and at one anarchist gathering met Bartolomeo Vanzetti, an Italian immigrant working as a fish
peddler in Plymouth. Like many left wing radicals, Sacco and Vanzetti were opposed to the First
World War. They took part in protest meetings and in 1917, when the United States ... Show more

He also named the four other men, Joe, Fred, Pasquale and Mike Morelli, who had taken part in the
robbery. The Morelli brothers were well known criminals who had carried out similar robberies in area
of Massachusetts. However, the authorities refused to investigate the confession made by Madeiros.
Many leading writers and artists became involved in a campaign to obtain a retrial. Although, Webster
Thayer, the original judge, was officially criticised for his conduct at the trial, the authorities refused
to overrule the decision to execute the men. By the summer of 1927 it became clear that Sacco and
Bartolomeo Vanzetti would be executed. On 23rd August 1927, the day of execution, over 250,000
people took part in a silent demonstration in Boston. Soon after the executions, Eugene Lyons
published his book, The Life and Death of Sacco and Vanzetti. Fifty years later, on 23rd August, 1977,
Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts, issued a proclamation, effectively absolving the two
men of the crime.
From beginning to end, Nicola Sacco had been blamed for murder. This is the world we live in. A
world where someone can t be free until after death. A world where we discriminate other for being
different and then let them for

Essay of Comparison between The Tiger and The Lamb, poems...
Essay of Comparison between The Tiger and The Lamb, poems by William Blake
The Tiger and The Lamb were poems by William Blake, a poet who lived in the 18th century. In this
essay I am going to compare the two poems and examine links between them relating to rhymes,
patterns and words used.
Blake s background relates on the poems he wrote, and many of his works reflected his early home
life. Blake in his childhood was an outcast, a loner, and didn t have many friends. His family believed
very strongly in God and were extremely pious Christians but did not agree with the teachings of the
church, so young William Blake often was made to think about God and his teachings during his
studies.
Because his parents were rebels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Lamb the poem is mainly very well structured and flows. In the first verse it has the questions
and in the second verse it has all the answers. If you were only to look at the poem briefly you would
believe it was a children s poem, a hopscotch poem or playground chant, until you remember that
Blake could not have known these as he did not attend school. The reader would think this because of
the simple vocabulary, and also if you notice, the poem uses soft alliteration little lamb this gave a
much softer feel to the poem, obviously putting one in mind of children and their innocence.
Blake was a very holy and pious person. He often out biblical discourse into many of his poems, as I
have stated before. I found some plain biblical tones in The Lamb the next quotation shows this point.
He is meek, and he is mild . . . became a little child .
This quotation is from the New Testament, where God was forgiving, whereas in the Old Testament
God was believed to punish people for their sins i.e. Noah and the Ark, in which God drowns the
entire human race apart from Noah and his family. The fact that there is biblical content in The Lamb
is inspiring and was maybe meant to give a sense of hope. The lack of biblical discussion in The Tiger
gives the reader a sense of lack if reprieve, lack of hope and a sense of the
prison of the world and all

Media Panics
A media panic or often referred to as a moral panic, is a term that describes how the media is
formulating issues amongst our society. Over time, our culture has shifted and caused for many
conclusions regarding media panics and the relationship between youth and the media culture. Based
upon previous knowledge and course readings, I have drawn a very disturbing conclusion; this being
that no matter what age, children are willing or non willingly now under surveillance to determine
what kind of role media is playing in their lives. With what I have gathered from the readings and
class lectures, most authors strongly believe that different forms of media directly influence children s
thinking or perception. What authors and researchers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The authors discuss the objectifying gaze, which I believe has a lot to do with how females are
perceived with the usages of photo altering technology and online visual cultures. The theoretical
framework of the objectification theory places female bodies in a sociocultural context with the aim of
illuminating the lived experiences and mental health risks of girls and women who encounter sexual
objectification (Frederickson Roberts, 174). The pose and the filter that a young woman chooses to
enhance the beauty of her photo is argued to read just that, and it allows for others viewing them to
assume their lived experiences, how these young women generally are, the practices they engage in,
etc. What we tend to forget, especially in an age where digital culture is so prominent, is that a picture
is a snapshot of a moment in time. According to Drotner (1999), the idea that new media has become a
threat and a main cause of moral panics to young people is problematic because it infers that they are
effected by what they are exposed to. This assumption of children, introduces to our society that every
piece of media may be able to change them. What we are telling ourselves is that young people are
followers and do not have a mind of their own; they are vulnerable, innocent and easily influenced.
Media panics introduce the idea that there should be some sort of protection for children from the
dangers media may introduce. In

Iran and Concessions, mid 19th to early 20th Century, the Catalysts of Change Throughout the 19th
and 20th century Iran saw not only the changing of three regimes, but also the coming, and going of
classical imperialists in Britain and Russia, but also late comers to the game in the United States. In
each instance however, Iran was on a road to appeasement. In some instances such as with the Qajar s,
Iran s Imperial family was trying to get more money for the betterment of itself. In the event of the
Pahlavi s, Iran was trying to modernize based off of a western model of success. In both instances the

Britain during this time had fought with Iran and beat them in some battles. Iran during this time also
suffered defeats by the Russians which culminated with the Shah of the Qajar dynasty, Naser Al Din
Shah ruling the middle of Iran while the Russians ruled the north and the British ruled the south. The
Qajar dynasty was in dire straits as a result and it did not help that the Shah was spending his country
into a more precarious position than he was already in. By the late 19th century the Shah due to his
opulent life style began to issue concessions to each power ruling its upper and lower regions for a fee.
A concession is an amicable agreement to give a certain right such as the ability to improve
infrastructure in order that the concession holder have a monopoly over this enterprise in its given
area. An example would be both Russia and Britain wanting to have concessions of the railroads in
their given sectors, this did not happen. However what the Shah was doing during this time was more

Joseph Black Carbon Dioxide Research Paper
Joseph Black discovered carbon dioxide in the 1950s. Carbon dioxide contains 1 carbon and 2
oxygen;it is a gas at room temperature. Furthermore, it s a non flammable gas with no smell as well as
being under high pressure and it extracts natural materials. Carbon dioxide appertains many
benedictions to the world. Carbon dioxide contains many prosperities due to the increase in the
quantity of food for the human consumption and the rising atmospheric Co2 concentration increases
the quality of the food we eat. Co2, known as carbon dioxide also increases the quality and potency of

When the frequency of the IR(infrared) is the same as the vibrational frequency of a bond or collection
of bonds, absorption occurs. This is what an example of an IR spectrum does once it s put to action
This IR spectrum sets forts wave numbers in the X axis and the transmittance at the Y axis. This
spectrum elucidates the gap in the wavenumbers of the absorptions in the transmittance in addition to
the wavelengths of the infrared light. As you can see the peak at 2300 to 2400 in the IR spectrum
indicates the relation of the carbon double bonded oxygen. The overall cause of Co2 is that it can be
very harmful for global warming. The solution for this problem is to use green electricity, make
energy use efficiency, use electricity satisfactorily at home, recycle and have public transport.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea, A Very Highly Widespread And...
Obstructive Sleep Apnea, OSA, is a very highly widespread and underdiagnosed disease (Kerner
Roose, 2016). The ailment can affect the person and the people around the affected individual
immensely. When one takes the time to diagnose a case of OSA it can be helped and treated. Many
different factors should be taken into account when dealing with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, including
the psychological perspective it falls under, the research methods used to investigate it, the positive
and negative components of the condition, and the controversies associated with it.
Psychological Perspective Psychology is an immense, widely varied, and diverse field of study. Over
the years, the field of psychology has grown, and so have the vast topics the field examines and
studies. A few major perspectives of psychology are psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, and
biological (Cherry, 2016). Of these areas, OSA can fit under the biological perspective. Obstructive
Sleep Apnea suitably relates to this category since it is largely a result of our biological, or physical,
makeup.
The biological perspective includes genetics and their effects on an individual and also the brain. This
perspective stresses the physical and biological foundations of behavior (Cherry, 2016). Studies have
shown that genetic factors cause the underlying susceptibility to OSA (Kant, Gupta, Natu, Chand,
Singh, 2010). OSA has also been linked to depression. The disease is one of many independent risk

Proton Pump Inhibitors
According to Proton Pump inhibitors (PPIs) decrease the generation of acid by hindering the enzyme
in the mass of the stomach that produces the acid. Acid is vital for the arrangement of most ulcers in
the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum, and the decrease of acid with PPIs avoids ulcers and permits
any ulcer that exists in the throat, stomach, and duodenum to mend. According to medicinenet.com (),

Web Services are an every growing and highly useful method of viewing and manipulating geographic
products, however there are several different ways in which to go about interfacing Web Services.

SOAP
SOAP first came into being in 1998 after being developed by Microsoft, however, it was not until
SOAP version 1.2 was released in June 2003 that SOAP became a World Wide Web Consortium
(W3C) Recommendation. This is also where SOAP ceased to be known as Simple Object Access
Protocol and remains to this day as SOAP.
The main reason for its development was to supersede some of the older communication technologies
that weren t as effective when being used across the internet such as Distributed Component Object
Model (DCOM) and Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA)
SOAP is a communication protocol that utilises Extensible Mark up Language (XML) to define the
messaging framework and send messages from one application to another via other protocols such as
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.
It can be used in conjunction with Web Services Description Language (WSDL). This language is for
the descriptions of web services and how to go about locating and accessing them. As with SOAP,
WSDL is also XML based. WSDL is also a W3C Recommendation.
A SOAP message has four main elements. These elements are an; envelope, header, body, and a fault
element. See Fig 1 for a visual breakdown of the SOAP message structure.

Alternative Forms Of Medicine For Breast Cancer Rates
Context Breast cancer rates are continuously on the rise, and improvements in diagnostic technology
have made it possible for patients to undergo treatment as early as possible in attempt for a higher
survival rate. However, conventional treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy leave patients
weak, fatigued, and often depressed. Alternative forms of medicine are being sought out to provide a
better experience for these breast cancer patients. This systematic review examines the effects of two
such methods: Yoga and acupuncture. Methods An electronic review of CINAHL complete, PubMed,
Medline Plus, and ProQuest Medical databases was performed independently by four researchers; a
total of 20 different peer reviewed publications were selected for data extraction and review. Inclusion
and exclusion criteria was determined to select articles that applied only to women with breast cancer,
or a history of breast cancer, over the age of 35 utilizing yoga and acupuncture as forms of
complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Results Although this systematic review provides a
wide range of sample populations and study designs, all studies provided a positive outcome from
patients using these forms of CAM. Reduced fatigue and depression as well as increased quality of life
was seen throughout all studies and reviews. Conclusion The researchers concluded that reviewed data
supported the belief that yoga and acupuncture can be used by breast cancer patients to improve

The Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs Essay
Look at Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs you see that the physiological things are on the bottom. This
includes things like food, water, breathing, sleep, and shelter. Things people can not live without. If
you have all of those things then you can live, you may not be able to live an exciting life if that is all
you have, but you get to live. Even the people that have a substantial amount of everything on every
level of the pyramid still want something. I know that I have all the necessities that I need to live, but
there are still things I want. When I think about what I want compared to what people in Zambia want,
there are drastic differences. Most of us live such a privileged life we want things like a new car or a
new phone, but people in Zambia? They want things like a nourishing meal or clean, fresh water. Our
style of life makes malnutrition or lack of water something that is almost unimaginable. For all of the
people that are suffering from malnutrition, they do not even meet the physiological needs on Maslow
s Hierarchy of Needs. This makes their lives ones that are constantly struggling, and makes the people
suffering unable to live a quality, fun, adventurous life. When more people are born they do not think
about how it could negatively affect their lives. If someone is trying to feed a family with one dollar a
day, like 76% of Zambians are, then how are they going to feed one more person. Also, with 14.5% of
their population having HIV/AIDs the child

The Causes Of The Protestant Reformation
The Protestant Reformation regarded the followers of the Catholic Church finally rebelling and
realizing all of the corruption happening in the Church. The Protestant Reformation took place in the
16th century and led to the revolutionization of Europe. The Reformation sparked the Scientific
Revolution, Industrial Revolution, and the Enlightenment. The Reformation s challenge to Church
authority revolution Europe because people did not accept earlier authorities, questioned earlier
authorities thoughts, and started to think for themselves and said that God was not always the answer.
During the Scientific Revolution, questioning applied to the natural world led to yielding the full
understanding of nature. Copernicus was someone that questioned the natural world; he did not follow
what people said before him without question. Copernicus question mathematicians in 1543 because
he wanted to understand astronomy better. Other ways, questioning the natural world happened when
people started to interrogate nature. Interrogating nature means: observing what is there and ask
questions about it. In 1628, William Harvey wanted to know more about how the heart worked, so to
gain the new knowledge he performed vivisection and observed his findings. Vivisection means
dissection of a living animal. William Harvey found that blood is continuously pumped by the action
of the heart from the vena cava to the arteries and from the arteries to various organs, the pulse drives

Essay On Antiheroes
Antiheroes: neither villains nor supermen but the tragic heroes of daily life. Discussing the deptiction

emotionally unfulfilling life in the US in New York City and suburbs in Connecticut, to be exact. First
of all, one needs to clarify what exactly makes and antihero and what distinguishes him from other

The term the hero s journey or also the adventure of the hero has been coined by Joseph Campbell,

on his/her quest towards a better life. This pattern of journey primarily addresses mythical heroic
figures and shall illustrate how the heroic self seeks an exacting spiritual countenance, that is, a higher

It is no secret that the United States is currently experiencing a shortage of nurses . The U.S.
Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics ( 2009 ) estimated that more than one million new

The Injustice Of Our Prison System
The injustice of our prison system In many cases we are forced to believe that the prison system is fair
and equal to all, although that may not be the case. The prison system at first glance seems fair and
equal but after looking closer you will find many times it s not fair at all. For example, an African
American male could spend more time in jail for possession of crack than a white man with the same
amount of powder cocaine (Harmon 372). This is just one example of how society has been taken
advantage of in the prison system. Some people are subject to years in prison although they should not
be while others enjoy life even though they should be in prison. The injustice in the sentencing of
prisoners is an ongoing problem in society, as some criminals get of easy for horrible crimes others
criminals suffer unfairly all because of color of their skin.
The phrase if you do the crime you pay the time has been around for years but what does it really
mean? If you do a crime should you take whatever sentence the court gives you? This is a question
that has ruled the justice system for years but the answer is one that is not so simple. It is taught to us
even at a young age that if you do something wrong you should be punished for it. Most of us learned
that if we do something wrong we are going to get what we deserve punishment wise. That may be
true in many cases but it is not always true in the prison and justice system.
Our country s judicial branch is one to

Private Prisons Essay
The concept of the prison has existed for more than two thousand years. It probably goes back as far
in time as practice of cannibalism, where victims had to wait for their turn in contributing to the chief
course in the menu of their captors. Examples of prisons can even be found in the Old Testament when
Joseph was incarcerated in Egypt. It was not until the 19th century that a clear shift occurred from
corporal punishment to imprisonment. As societies prospered and the industrial revolution began, the
formal prison system, as we know it today, developed. Throughout most of the world, the correctional
system is administered by the state, and it is considered a key function that the government must

Segal and Moore (2002) identified about 23 U.S. cost comparison studies and fewer quality studies.
Many of those studies were of questionable value because they did not comply with specific
characteristics of meta analysis (did not have explicit comparison of private and public facilities, the
study was based on citations of other studies, few recognizable databases, among others). The most
recent review, a meta analysis by Lundahl et. al. (2009) only identified 12 studies of cost and quality
meeting their criteria for sound methodology .
According to Alex Tabarrok, privately managed facilities can have cost savings of 15 25% on prison
edification and 15% on administrative expenses. Likewise, private prisons generate competition and
exert pressure towards public prisons. They encourage public prisons to also innovate and lower costs.
Other studies (Lundahl et al. 2009, page 392) argue, prison privatization provides neither a clear
advantage nor disadvantage compared with publicly managed prisons. The economic nature of private
corporations is to be profit seeking agents whose sole focus is to maximize shareholder value. This is
a fair reason and a reason that will always exist. Detractors of privatization and free market systems,
argue that

What Is The Similarities Between Death Of A Salesman And...
In Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman and Tennessee Williams Glass Menagerie, readers see two
characters who share the struggle of being caught in the past. Biff and Tom both feel trapped in their
lives with not many options to escape to due to family responsibility. While Biff blames Willy and
Tom blames Amanda, they often search for escapes from their miserable lives and to pursuing the
American Dream in the form of adventure. Through Biff s and Tom s thoughts and actions, these
characters make up for much of the melancholy and reflective mood by having a hard time letting go
of the past in the two plays and affecting their parents internal conflicts and dreams. Flashbacks are
key to both plays and they are what influence the plays and show Biff s as well as Tom s character and
are what lead to the setting of the mood. In Death of a Salesman Biff creates the mood of guilt and

feels guilty for having left her behind. Tom recognizes that Laura is special and he very deeply cares
for her, shown by how struck with guilt and self hatred he is when he breaks her glass animals with his
coat. Tom s escape comes when he and Amanda fight about Jim and Amanda tells him to go to the

Are Kids Lazy Research Paper
Do you think kids get too many trophies? In my opinion, we do. They make kids lazy, and can send
the wrong message, but also, they have good intentions.
Participation trophies tend to make kids lazier. A lot of people say that kids don t have to try as hard to
get an award, (3). That is said because kids, even if they aren t good at the sport, are treated as winners
because as long as you tried and had fun, you won! Also in theory when kids grow up and go to
college or to get a job, they will more than likely give up instead of trying harder, (4). That is because
as kids, we are rewarded for just trying our hardest instead of for pushing past your previous limits to
improve. That just helps to prove my point that we get too many trophies.
Kids are too lazy now. Studies show that over 50% of college students think they should get at least a

frustration and failure(4). People say that because when everybody gets a trophy, nobody feels upset
that someone else got a trophy and they didn t, so they feel no need to improve. That is why it is
sending bad messages. Other bad messages sent by these trophies can be that you re special . That is
thought because parents, coaches, and other adults are constantly giving praise to kids for merely
showing up (4). That tells kids their special because they get good job for just showing up. Also
studies show that they will more than likely blame others because they were always treated special (4).
This shows that when children are treated special, they act like they don t have to take responsibility
for what they do. That is how these trophies send bad

The Impact Of Modern Television On Contemporary Culture Essay
Recent and historical events throughout television history have demanded a redefinition of the
medium in contemporary culture. Throughout its history television has predominantly relied upon
industry practices established early in the 1960s, however, the turn of the century has produced such
divergence from these practices that some scholars are defining it as an entirely new era of television.
Lotz, for example, employs the term post network , an indication of televisions separation from earlier
dominant network practices (9). For the most part, Lotz and scholars alike agree that this transition has
stemmed from changes in the industrial norms of producing, financing, and distributing television, as
well new introductions to the industry such as the arrival of digital technologies. This essay will agree
with these scholars, arguing that significant changes to the Western television industry has resulted in
a new, distinctive era of television culture.
First and foremost, Lotz provides valuable insight into the distinguishable eras of television
development. The resulting three eras are defined as the network era, multi channel transition and post
network era (7). Each developing upon the last, the industrial changes which occurred in the earlier
eras had direct effects on the formation of the current post network era.
The network era , which spanned roughly from the early 1950s to the mid 1980s, governed industry
operations and created a television experience

Power Of Story Analysis
Wk2 The Power of Story Response
Story telling from the beginning of time has been a past time that has been carried on from generation
to generation. The Talmud is known for the many stories told in the Jewish history.
I remember my childhood years going down south during summer vacations. My grandparents and
uncles and aunts would sit around at sundown and tell stories about our family history. Some were
exaggerated and funny, but for the most part, I learned about how they overcame extremely difficult
times and how to persevere in the face of heavy opposition.
Storytelling has proven to be extremely important in helping to create, first and foremost, a
comfortable atmosphere for learning. In order for Christian education to be effective, a conducive and
non threatening atmosphere must be created rather than an atmosphere that consists of force feeding
information or slamming information down students throats dogmatically.
Today, our pastor preached on the prodigal son. This is a story that most people can identify with. I
know I can because I have personally experienced being restless, reckless, wretched, and wanting to
leave home and live the worldly way. I had good role models at home, but could not resist ... Show

be successfully understood. Finally, this method of educating is something that Jesus Christ, the
master teacher, employed when teaching his followers and is a method that Christian educators in the

A Few Things To Know About Having Laser Surgery On Your Cataracts
If you have cataracts, you may be able to put up with cloudy vision for a few years, but eventually,
you ll probably need surgery to remove the cataracts and improve your vision. That s because
cataracts continue to grow and your vision gets progressively worse over the years. At some point,
your vision may become so impaired you have difficulty driving at night, or you may increase your
risk of falling. Cataract surgery is very common and it is a relatively safe procedure. It is even being
done with lasers now, which lowers the risks further. Here are a few things to know about having your
cataracts removed with a laser.

Laser surgery is no different. Of course, if you want to have laser surgery, you need to make sure the
doctor you choose has necessary laser device, computer, and software system in the office, because
many doctors still do the procedure by hand. If you have cataracts in both eyes, you ll probably only
have one eye done at a time since your vision may be blurry for a few days. Your eyes will be dilated
and numbed with medication before the doctor begins, and you ll probably go home with an eye patch.
During the surgery, your doctor may be able to insert a new lens that corrects any vision problems you
have such as being farsighted or nearsighted. Then, once you ve healed from your surgery, the
cloudiness will be gone and your vision might be improved enough to allow you to go without glasses.
Deciding on the right time to have the laser surgery depends on different variables. If your cataracts
grow slowly, you may be able to put off the surgery for a long time. However, it isn t worth
postponing the procedure if your vision is impaired to the point where it affects your quality of

Black Writers of the 20th Century Essay
Literature has played an important role in society throughout history, the written word being a
powerful tool in communicating ideas. This became even more important during the 20th century,
when many people were trying to persuade others or share their emotions and histories. The black
movements in the United States made use of this tool, many authors coming out and becoming part of
the fabric of society. Three authors in particular, Ralph Ellison, Langston Hughes, and Richard Wright
became some of the most influential and important writers of the 20th century, owing to their own
history and life experiences to give life and meaning to their works. Ralph Ellison is one of the more

The Effectiveness of Native Title
The debate about native title issues has tended to see issues from idealistic perspectives ignoring the
practical realities that native title poses to governments, industry and indigenous people. The
implementation of the Native Title is an appropriate and significant aspect of Australia s common and
statute law, which effectively strives to develop a fair outcome for all Australian citizens. The Native

The Coach Research Paper
Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the
entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as your
experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports or just
who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that nature is in
their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you will scarcely, see
them sit down, and they are so competitive that they act as if they are actually playing the game. They
could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players, telling them what to do, as
if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to the people around them, for,
unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially the backseat drivers of sports.
The next fan we have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the quotation marks. Phonies come
for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for
the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may think that the game is on their phone because that is
what they ll spend most of their time watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much
attention to Phonies, yet you will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or
other public accounts. Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them.
Except for the Rookie. Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested
in the game. Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the
ones like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in
the game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies
do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about Rookies
is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they try to be
discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you

Toleration is achieved through indifference, by a feeling that any religion might be right, and also by
the fact that nomadic society was accustomed to the practice of many religions. Today, one sixth of the
world and 95 percent of the people of Pakistan are Muslim. Most Muslims in Pakistan take religion
much more seriously than Americans or Europeans do. There are much fewer agnostics or freethinkers
in Pakistan than there are in the West. For most Pakistanis, religion is not so much a matter of
individual belief as it is a matter of revealed truth and a lifetime duty. A quarter of all Pakistanis pray
five times a day. Many more pray at least once a day. The times a day when a crier, or an amplified
taped recording of a crier, gives the azan, or prayer call, are just before dawn, after noon, an hour
before sunset, about an hour after sunset, and about two and a half hours after sunset. Before entering

Work In Canada
Social Work in Canada and The Philippines
Despite geographically on different corners of the world, there remains a lot of similarities between
the Canadian and Philippine social work practice. In both jurisdictions, social work is a recognized
profession. In the Philippines, Republic Act 4373 laid the basis for professionalization social work.
The organized social work practice in the Philippines was introduced during the American rule (1898
1946) to gradually extend public coordination of welfare services. (Aspalter, 2014). In Canada,
although there is no law creating the profession, the Canadian Association of Social Workers was
established to establish standards of social work practice. Each province established its own Colleges
to govern the practice of social work on the local level. The first recognition of social workers in the
Philippines came after its liberation from the United States when the Philippine Association of Social
Workers was organized (Almanzor, 1966; Yu, 2006 as cited in Aspalter, 2014). Through their
influence further, social welfare gradually transitions towards professionalization to emphasize the
need to coordinate welfare services. Landa Jocano (1980: 63 as cited in Aspalter, 2014). In both
territories, a governing body supervises the practice. In both jurisdictions, practice theories are based
on Western origin and orientation. Though Canada has pioneered some intellectual contributions in

  • 2. The Future Of Qantas Airways Qantas Airways Limited has a very long and extensive history of operating in the continent of Australia. It holds the honor of currently being the largest airline in Australia and one of the oldest in the world. It is impossible to link the history of aviation in Australia without the thought of Qantas. On November 16th, 1920, Qantas, known as the flying kangroo, was founded in a remote area of Australia, known as Winston, Queensland. It was originally known as Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited, founded by Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinness, Fergus McMaster, and Arthur Baird. Like most air services during this time, it was initially founded to operate airmail services funded by the Australian government. By 1929, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Qantas s first flight for the A 380 was Melbourne to Los Angeles. In October 2001, Qantas created a regional carrier known as Jetstar Airways, which took its first flight in December 2004, flying from Singapore to Hong Kong. Qantas currently flies the world s longest route on its Sydney to Dallas Worth, covering 13,800 kilometers in around 14 hours and hopefully by 2017 Qantas will fly the 14,000 kilometer trip between Perth, Australia and London, England (Ryan, 2015). Jetstar Jetstar is the low cost carrier operated by Qantas. An example of this in the United States is the major carrier Skywest operates its regional low cost carrier Expressjet. Qantas Airlines created Jetstar in 2003 as a low cost carrier to transport passengers to major hubs where they could connect to Qantas and reach their destinations. Jetstar has its headquarters located in Melbourne, Australia. As of 2015, Jetstar Airlines operates 121 aircraft, 111 of these aircraft are short haul that is what most low cost regional carriers operate. Short haul means that the total flight time is less than five hours. Although, this does not mean that they do not operate long haul flights, flights over five hours in flight time, as they have eleven of these particular aircraft. Currently, the Jetstar Group offers flights to 60 different destinations in 17 different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Analysis of HBS case on Charlotte Beers at Ogilvy ... 1. Unfreezing a fragmented Ogilvy Mather out of the Ice Age. Charlotte Beers tries to turn around Ogilvy by implementing a strategy based on differentiation. However, Ogilvy s organisation and culture are obstacles to this process. She has therefore to unfreeze the situation first to allow change to be implemented through a communal culture and a collaborative organisation. Evidence of a crisis are numerous: Major accounts have been lost (Amex); Revenues and earnings are in decline; Agencies services are increasingly commodities; Staff morale is low; O M culture is fragmented. It is low on both sociability and solidarity as defined by Goffee and Jones. Individual offices are run independently (low solidarity) and the historical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chewton Glen Declaration is also compromise prowess to nurture Beer s network. Apparently adressing O Dea, Wright, Harry and Reid s request for a strategy, it is actually Beers vehicle to connect personally with them. Thus, point 1 addresses O Dea frustrations, point 2 favours Wright s integrated approach and point 3 is along Reid and Thedens financial discipline priority. The only reported structural outcome, the WCS division, is also telling. WCS supervisors are instantly an influential network for Beers ideas: üTheir past status was unsatisfactory (= low resistance to change); üTheir exposure to global accounts goes Beer s way; üThey have extra credibility as insiders. As a result, Ogilvy s vision is a masterpiece that: üAligns the core disciplines around a shared concept ( brands ); üAppeals to its internal audience (O M staff value their O M brand); üIncreases solidarity through its shared goals; üAppeals to customers too. 3. Keep moving people, start moving boxes and bucks too. Charlotte Beers immediate challenge is to refine her vision into a strategy. To establish goals and allocate resources in a comprehensive manner will require a more structured communication, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Nicola Sacco Essay In this world, anything can happen. We can drive, text, and be framed for murder. Yeah, being framed for murder. That s what happened to Nicola Sacco. We should start at the beginning. Nicola Sacco was born in the Italian town of Torremaggiore on 22nd April, 1891. He emigrated to the United States when he was seventeen. Sacco found work in a shoe factory in Stoughton, Massachusetts. He got married and started a family. Sacco also became involved in left wing politics and at one anarchist gathering met Bartolomeo Vanzetti, an Italian immigrant working as a fish peddler in Plymouth. Like many left wing radicals, Sacco and Vanzetti were opposed to the First World War. They took part in protest meetings and in 1917, when the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also named the four other men, Joe, Fred, Pasquale and Mike Morelli, who had taken part in the robbery. The Morelli brothers were well known criminals who had carried out similar robberies in area of Massachusetts. However, the authorities refused to investigate the confession made by Madeiros. Many leading writers and artists became involved in a campaign to obtain a retrial. Although, Webster Thayer, the original judge, was officially criticised for his conduct at the trial, the authorities refused to overrule the decision to execute the men. By the summer of 1927 it became clear that Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti would be executed. On 23rd August 1927, the day of execution, over 250,000 people took part in a silent demonstration in Boston. Soon after the executions, Eugene Lyons published his book, The Life and Death of Sacco and Vanzetti. Fifty years later, on 23rd August, 1977, Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts, issued a proclamation, effectively absolving the two men of the crime. From beginning to end, Nicola Sacco had been blamed for murder. This is the world we live in. A world where someone can t be free until after death. • 6. Essay of Comparison between The Tiger and The Lamb, poems... Essay of Comparison between The Tiger and The Lamb, poems by William Blake The Tiger and The Lamb were poems by William Blake, a poet who lived in the 18th century. In this essay I am going to compare the two poems and examine links between them relating to rhymes, patterns and words used. Blake s background relates on the poems he wrote, and many of his works reflected his early home life. Blake in his childhood was an outcast, a loner, and didn t have many friends. His family believed very strongly in God and were extremely pious Christians but did not agree with the teachings of the church, so young William Blake often was made to think about God and his teachings during his studies. Because his parents were rebels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Lamb the poem is mainly very well structured and flows. In the first verse it has the questions and in the second verse it has all the answers. If you were only to look at the poem briefly you would believe it was a children s poem, a hopscotch poem or playground chant, until you remember that Blake could not have known these as he did not attend school. The reader would think this because of the simple vocabulary, and also if you notice, the poem uses soft alliteration little lamb this gave a much softer feel to the poem, obviously putting one in mind of children and their innocence. Blake was a very holy and pious person. He often out biblical discourse into many of his poems, as I have stated before. I found some plain biblical tones in The Lamb the next quotation shows this point. He is meek, and he is mild . . . became a little child . This quotation is from the New Testament, where God was forgiving, whereas in the Old Testament God was believed to punish people for their sins i.e. Noah and the Ark, in which God drowns the entire human race apart from Noah and his family. The fact that there is biblical content in The Lamb is inspiring and was maybe meant to give a sense of hope. The lack of biblical discussion in The Tiger gives the reader a sense of lack if reprieve, lack of hope and a sense of the prison of the world and all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Media Panics A media panic or often referred to as a moral panic, is a term that describes how the media is formulating issues amongst our society. Over time, our culture has shifted and caused for many conclusions regarding media panics and the relationship between youth and the media culture. Based upon previous knowledge and course readings, I have drawn a very disturbing conclusion; this being that no matter what age, children are willing or non willingly now under surveillance to determine what kind of role media is playing in their lives. With what I have gathered from the readings and class lectures, most authors strongly believe that different forms of media directly influence children s thinking or perception. What authors and researchers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors discuss the objectifying gaze, which I believe has a lot to do with how females are perceived with the usages of photo altering technology and online visual cultures. The theoretical framework of the objectification theory places female bodies in a sociocultural context with the aim of illuminating the lived experiences and mental health risks of girls and women who encounter sexual objectification (Frederickson Roberts, 174). The pose and the filter that a young woman chooses to enhance the beauty of her photo is argued to read just that, and it allows for others viewing them to assume their lived experiences, how these young women generally are, the practices they engage in, etc. What we tend to forget, especially in an age where digital culture is so prominent, is that a picture is a snapshot of a moment in time. According to Drotner (1999), the idea that new media has become a threat and a main cause of moral panics to young people is problematic because it infers that they are effected by what they are exposed to. This assumption of children, introduces to our society that every piece of media may be able to change them. What we are telling ourselves is that young people are followers and do not have a mind of their own; they are vulnerable, innocent and easily influenced. Media panics introduce the idea that there should be some sort of protection for children from the dangers media may introduce. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Iran, Iran And Concessions, Mid 19th Century And 20th Century Spring 15 Iran and Concessions, mid 19th to early 20th Century, the Catalysts of Change Throughout the 19th and 20th century Iran saw not only the changing of three regimes, but also the coming, and going of classical imperialists in Britain and Russia, but also late comers to the game in the United States. In each instance however, Iran was on a road to appeasement. In some instances such as with the Qajar s, Iran s Imperial family was trying to get more money for the betterment of itself. In the event of the Pahlavi s, Iran was trying to modernize based off of a western model of success. In both instances the carving out of resources was involved in which Iran stood to lose the most by giving up very lucrative state industries to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Britain during this time had fought with Iran and beat them in some battles. Iran during this time also suffered defeats by the Russians which culminated with the Shah of the Qajar dynasty, Naser Al Din Shah ruling the middle of Iran while the Russians ruled the north and the British ruled the south. The Qajar dynasty was in dire straits as a result and it did not help that the Shah was spending his country into a more precarious position than he was already in. By the late 19th century the Shah due to his opulent life style began to issue concessions to each power ruling its upper and lower regions for a fee. A concession is an amicable agreement to give a certain right such as the ability to improve infrastructure in order that the concession holder have a monopoly over this enterprise in its given area. An example would be both Russia and Britain wanting to have concessions of the railroads in their given sectors, this did not happen. When the frequency of the IR(infrared) is the same as the vibrational frequency of a bond or collection of bonds, absorption occurs. This is what an example of an IR spectrum does once it s put to action This IR spectrum sets forts wave numbers in the X axis and the transmittance at the Y axis. This spectrum elucidates the gap in the wavenumbers of the absorptions in the transmittance in addition to the wavelengths of the infrared light. As you can see the peak at 2300 to 2400 in the IR spectrum indicates the relation of the carbon double bonded oxygen. The overall cause of Co2 is that it can be very harmful for global warming. • 11. Obstructive Sleep Apnea, A Very Highly Widespread And... Obstructive Sleep Apnea, OSA, is a very highly widespread and underdiagnosed disease (Kerner Roose, 2016). The ailment can affect the person and the people around the affected individual immensely. When one takes the time to diagnose a case of OSA it can be helped and treated. Many different factors should be taken into account when dealing with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, including the psychological perspective it falls under, the research methods used to investigate it, the positive and negative components of the condition, and the controversies associated with it. Psychological Perspective Psychology is an immense, widely varied, and diverse field of study. Over the years, the field of psychology has grown, and so have the vast topics the field examines and studies. A few major perspectives of psychology are psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, and biological (Cherry, 2016). Of these areas, OSA can fit under the biological perspective. Obstructive Sleep Apnea suitably relates to this category since it is largely a result of our biological, or physical, makeup. The biological perspective includes genetics and their effects on an individual and also the brain. This perspective stresses the physical and biological foundations of behavior (Cherry, 2016). Studies have shown that genetic factors cause the underlying susceptibility to OSA (Kant, Gupta, Natu, Chand, Singh, 2010). OSA has also been linked to depression. • 17. The Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs Essay Look at Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs you see that the physiological things are on the bottom. This includes things like food, water, breathing, sleep, and shelter. Things people can not live without. If you have all of those things then you can live, you may not be able to live an exciting life if that is all you have, but you get to live. Even the people that have a substantial amount of everything on every level of the pyramid still want something. I know that I have all the necessities that I need to live, but there are still things I want. When I think about what I want compared to what people in Zambia want, there are drastic differences. Most of us live such a privileged life we want things like a new car or a new phone, but people in Zambia? They want things like a nourishing meal or clean, fresh water. Our style of life makes malnutrition or lack of water something that is almost unimaginable. For all of the people that are suffering from malnutrition, they do not even meet the physiological needs on Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs. This makes their lives ones that are constantly struggling, and makes the people suffering unable to live a quality, fun, adventurous life. When more people are born they do not think about how it could negatively affect their lives. The U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics ( 2009 ) estimated that more than one million new and replacement nurses will be needed by 2018 to meet the increased demands of the health care workforce (). The stressful conditions under which nurses work, due in part to the nursing shortage, are among the risk factors that contribute to nurses abuse of illicit drugs and alcohol. Nurses are unique in that they work in an environment where they not only have access to controlled substances, but also are exposed to critically ill patients, traumatic situations, death and dying, the stress of which can increase the risk of substance abuse. (Epstein, Burns, Conlon, 2010). Unfortunately, it is the patient that suffers the most. The Injustice Of Our Prison System The injustice of our prison system In many cases we are forced to believe that the prison system is fair and equal to all, although that may not be the case. The prison system at first glance seems fair and equal but after looking closer you will find many times it s not fair at all. For example, an African American male could spend more time in jail for possession of crack than a white man with the same amount of powder cocaine (Harmon 372). This is just one example of how society has been taken advantage of in the prison system. Some people are subject to years in prison although they should not be while others enjoy life even though they should be in prison. The injustice in the sentencing of prisoners is an ongoing problem in society, as some criminals get of easy for horrible crimes others criminals suffer unfairly all because of color of their skin. The phrase if you do the crime you pay the time has been around for years but what does it really mean? If you do a crime should you take whatever sentence the court gives you? This is a question that has ruled the justice system for years but the answer is one that is not so simple. It is taught to us even at a young age that if you do something wrong you should be punished for it. Most of us learned that if we do something wrong we are going to get what we deserve punishment wise. That may be true in many cases but it is not always true in the prison and justice system. Throughout its history television has predominantly relied upon industry practices established early in the 1960s, however, the turn of the century has produced such divergence from these practices that some scholars are defining it as an entirely new era of television. Lotz, for example, employs the term post network , an indication of televisions separation from earlier dominant network practices (9). For the most part, Lotz and scholars alike agree that this transition has stemmed from changes in the industrial norms of producing, financing, and distributing television, as well new introductions to the industry such as the arrival of digital technologies. This essay will agree with these scholars, arguing that significant changes to the Western television industry has resulted in a new, distinctive era of television culture. First and foremost, Lotz provides valuable insight into the distinguishable eras of television development. The resulting three eras are defined as the network era, multi channel transition and post network era (7). Each developing upon the last, the industrial changes which occurred in the earlier eras had direct effects on the formation of the current post network era. The Talmud is known for the many stories told in the Jewish history. I remember my childhood years going down south during summer vacations. The process of claiming land in more complex then simply applying for the claim, for native title to exist there must be an ongoing link between the current inhabitant and the ancestors form pre colonial times. Native title can be extinguished is the holders lose their connection with the land. The Government believes it has provided a fair and balanced framework for the future by adopting the Native Title Act in 1993. The interpretation of native title is often misunderstood, which results in the establishment many negative opinions regarding native claims. • 36. The Coach Research Paper Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as your experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports or just who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that nature is in their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you will scarcely, see them sit down, and they are so competitive that they act as if they are actually playing the game. They could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players, telling them what to do, as if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to the people around them, for, unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially the backseat drivers of sports. The next fan we have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the quotation marks. Phonies come for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may think that the game is on their phone because that is what they ll spend most of their time watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much attention to Phonies, yet you will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or other public accounts. Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them. Except for the Rookie. Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested in the game. Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the ones like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in the game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about Rookies is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they try to be discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Comparing The Culture of the Mongols versus the Pakistanis... Comparing The Culture of the Mongols versus the Pakistanis In the following paper, I will be comparing the five institutions between the Mongols and the Pakistanis, discussing the unique qualities that distinguish these cultures from one another. These five institutions include topics such as religion, economics, education, politics, and family. Religion The Mongols religious beliefs and practices come into the category that is usually called Shamanism. I find that a shaman can be best described as being a tribal witch doctor. Shamanism involves a solitary practitioner that uses the aids of psychotropic herbs and hypnotic drumming in order for him to travel to the spirit world. Once there, he is able to retrieve the help and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Toleration is achieved through indifference, by a feeling that any religion might be right, and also by the fact that nomadic society was accustomed to the practice of many religions. Today, one sixth of the world and 95 percent of the people of Pakistan are Muslim. Most Muslims in Pakistan take religion much more seriously than Americans or Europeans do. There are much fewer agnostics or freethinkers in Pakistan than there are in the West. For most Pakistanis, religion is not so much a matter of individual belief as it is a matter of revealed truth and a lifetime duty. A quarter of all Pakistanis pray five times a day. Many more pray at least once a day. The times a day when a crier, or an amplified taped recording of a crier, gives the azan, or prayer call, are just before dawn, after noon, an hour before sunset, about an hour after sunset, and about two and a half hours after sunset. Before entering a mosque (a Muslim temple) men take their sandals off at the entrance. (Women usually do not go to mosques.) Then they wash their hands and feet at an outdoor basin before and imam (priest) leads them on prayer. A rural imam is usually a poorly educated man who teaches children to read the Qur an (religious book), delivers sermons on Fridays, deeps up the grounds of the mosque, and presides at weddings and funerals, like his father and grandfather did before him. Villagers commonly call their imam a mullah, but in cities ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Work In Canada Social Work in Canada and The Philippines Despite geographically on different corners of the world, there remains a lot of similarities between the Canadian and Philippine social work practice. In both jurisdictions, social work is a recognized profession. In the Philippines, Republic Act 4373 laid the basis for professionalization social work. The organized social work practice in the Philippines was introduced during the American rule (1898 1946) to gradually extend public coordination of welfare services. (Aspalter, 2014). In Canada, although there is no law creating the profession, the Canadian Association of Social Workers was established to establish standards of social work practice. Each province established its own Colleges to govern the practice of social work on the local level. The first recognition of social workers in the Philippines came after its liberation from the United States when the Philippine Association of Social Workers was organized (Almanzor, 1966; Yu, 2006 as cited in Aspalter, 2014). Through their influence further, social welfare gradually transitions towards professionalization to emphasize the need to coordinate welfare services. Landa Jocano (1980: 63 as cited in Aspalter, 2014). In both territories, a governing body supervises the practice. In both jurisdictions, practice theories are based on Western origin and orientation. Though Canada has pioneered some intellectual contributions in social work academia, Philippines education, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Essay Buddhist Japanese Art Introduced by a mission from Korea in 552 C.E., Buddhism has long been a central theme in Japanese artwork. Since the king of Paekche, a kingdom in the South East of the Korean peninsula, first gave the Japanese emperor a bronze Buddha statue, the Buddhist art forms that were periodically introduced from China and Korea were tempered in the crucible of local custom and usage, to yield a rich tradition of religious art. The role of Buddhism in Japan was greatly amplified during the life and reign of Prince Umaydo, known better by his Buddhist name, Prince Shotoku. Shotoku, meaning Sagely and Virtuous, was born into a family that had been importing foreign Buddhist images for nearly 20 years, and had begun to embrace the religion. ... Located at the Horyu ji temple, the Shaka Triad, also known as the Shaka Trinity, stands 3.82 meters high from the base of the pedestal to the tip of the mandorla. The stature was created out of gilded bronze in several pieces before being put together, and consists of the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni, bordered by two bodhisattvas. Each bodhisattva is 0.91 m high, while the central figure, measures out to be 0.86 m. The three figures are situated on a wooden pedestal, backed by a bronze mandorla, decorated with smaller seated Buddha s cast in relief. The sculpture has been beautifully preserved, although the gilding on the bodhisattvas has become slightly blackened. The central Buddha figure, Shakyamuni is the original Buddha who can not be spoken or thought of in terms of birth or death, self or other and is the source of all other manifestation of Buddha hood. He appears cross legged on a pedestal representing the cosmic mountain. The Shaka displays several of the important iconographic, symbolic traits of the Buddha, including the usis, a cranial protrubence; the snail shell curls of hair the urna, a mark on the brow between the eyes; the elongated ears; and the gilt which indicates the golden color of the Buddha s skin. • 40. Comparing Poems Suicide Note And The Mother Poetry Paper Everyone believes that someone is perfect in life in other words that is not true. Although Suicide Note by Janice Mirikitani focuses on disappointment, and The Mother by Gwendolyn Brooks touches more on an emotional topic of abortion. This allows you to see that the decisions a person makes in life, have a great impact on others. Both poems convey on how they feel about death and failure. In the poem Suicide Note Mirikitani talks about the failures she had in life. For example Each failure ,a glacier (26).
