Education 4.0 is a purposeful approach to learning that lines up the fourth industrial revolution and about transforming the future of education using advanced technology and automation. This presentation slide explains the innovative practices of incorporating advanced technology in our classroom practice.
This is a presentation I prepared for a course on emerging technologies and concepts for my students. I discuss the concept of Education 4.0 as a tool to help to rethink education to better align future workers, today's life-long learners, with the new business requirements of industrie 4.0

Global connectivity, smart machines, and new media are just some of the drivers reshaping how we think about work, what constitutes work, and how we learn and develop the skills to work in the future. The concept of a ā100 year lifeā becoming the norm, and the majority of that spent studying and working, means that learning will be a lot more important, and different, for the next generations. Most people will have at least 6 different careers, requiring fundamental reeducating, whilst the relentless speed of innovation will constantly demand new skills and knowledge to keep pace, let alone an edge.

1.) responds to the needs of āindustry 4.0ā or the fourth industrial revolution, where man and machine align to enable new possibilities
2.) harnesses the potential of digital technologies, personalized data, open sourced content, and the new humanity of this globally-connected, technology-fueled world
3.) establishes a blueprint for the future of learning ā lifelong learning ā from childhood schooling to continuous learning in the workplace, to learning to play a better role in society.
The higher education ministry of Malaysia has set forth new initiatives as part of its effort to cultivate holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates to be globally competitive and meet the needs of Industry 4.0. Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said that the ministry has introduced a range of initiatives such as the integrated cumulative grade point average (iCGPA), in addition to its existing academic-driven CGPA system, the 2u2i Programme and CEO@Faculty Programme, to address the challenges and critical needs of Industry 4.0.

Institutions are looking at different ways to provide the best possible advice to our staff and students. There is now consistent agreement, there can potentially be very positive outcomes for both students and staff, but we first need to understand this as a community. The theme of the ACODE 88 Meeting 2 March 2023 was āEmbracing AI for student and staff productivityā. As this workshop we had some 200 participants; Director of TEL, Managers and Educational Designers, all bringing perspectives from their own institutions, to benchmark and understand were we stand on this complex, but exciting issue. As an output from this workshop, ACODE have developed a White paper, to help provide the sector with a way forward, one developed together.

To improve educational knowledge, e-learning makes use of interactive technology and communication infrastructure. It has the ability to change how we typically teach and learn across the board. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasnāt one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Engineering and Science piloted a virtual laboratory tool
with biometric authentication used to identify the
student and monitor their actions via remote proctoring
using facial recognition techniques to an undergraduate
mechanical engineering course.
ā¢ When using the virtual laboratory tool, the students log
in by scanning their faces with a web camera. While
performing a laboratory assessment, the student sits in
front of the camera and the virtual laboratory tool
monitors their facial expressions and head motions in
order to identify suspicious behaviours. Upon detection
of such behaviours, the tool records a video for further
analysis by the laboratory administrator. The virtual lab
tool with a virtual proctor works well and provides a
high degree of accuracy in detecting suspicious
behaviour during assessments.
