20. NFT Marketplace
Students & Teachers can enter the LearnOnChain Campus Shop to purchase additional in-platform items to enhance their learning experience and personalized
education. The $LEARN token will only be accepted.
NFT Item Examples
• Student & Teacher Avatars – i.e., Famous Academics such
as Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein and Aristotle. Animal
characters. Modes of transportation.
• Avatar Upgrades – Clothing items (i.e., Shirts, Dresses,
Shoes), backpacks and accessories
• Studying Tools – Stationery, Notepads, Calculators, &
Devices
• Books – Digitalized for reading and making notes on in-
platform
Via commercial partnerships items from the campus shop can
include branded items such as Nike trainers or Apple
MacBooks.
NFT Buildings
A digital collection of LearnOnChain Buildings will be created and launched as
NFTs. Building assets can include; Classrooms, Lecture halls, Private tutoring
rooms, Subject Libraries, and Study Halls. NFTs will be ranked based on earning
ability and educational benefits.
I.e., A Major Lecture Hall used in the Science Department with unlimited seats
and 24/7 access will be ranked high. On the other hand, a private tutoring room
for 1:1 learning will have a lower rank.
Additionally, positioning on the campus will also be factored into the ranking
system. Classrooms close to the campus centre with high levels of foot traffic will
be ranked higher.
NFT asset owners earn a % of the transactions made in their building and can
trade freely without distribution to gameplay or educational services.
For example, Classroom Maths 10.B is owned by John who enjoys collecting and
trading NFTs. After each class hosted within John’s NFT a % of the teaching fee
will be transferred to John using a Smart Contract process. John can upgrade his
classroom NFT by purchasing items, materials, accessories, and furniture from the
campus shop.
An NFT marketplace will exist to enhance the engagement, attract a wide
range of users and ultimately promote the gamified component of the
platform.

24. COMPETITION
No similar platform exists, with only one notable Web3 offering focused on
education. However, this platform is still in its infancy, with a recent token
launch focusing on content-based delivery such as Udemy rather than live real-
time teaching and tutoring.
LearnOnChain USP is through offering live, real-time learning and teaching.
Targeting those who seek additional education on top of traditional offerings
(evening tutoring), as an alternative to tackle issues in accessing education
(weekend course), or for educators to receive a secondary source of income.
Editor's Notes
The emergence of blockchain technology has revolutionised various industries, from supply chains to gaming.
As a result, the education sector has incredible opportunities to adopt web3 and digitalise the learning environment into a decentralised, secure, and personalised platform for both students & teachers.
Our proposed LearnOnChain Web3 Platform aims to solve the existing challenges of traditional learning by providing a modern, fun, and accessible environment.
The traditional education model has remained constant for centuries. Influenced by a student's background, location, finances and teacher availability. In recent years educational institutions have become a prime target for cyberattacks with valuable data against a lack of defence.
According to UNESCO, the number of out-of-school children and youth has risen by 6 million since 2021 and now totals 250 million. Many people who do not have access to education live in low-income countries, communities, or face barriers. The barriers people face are widespread. Various factors can influence a person’s ability to seek education. Even within developed, well-structured, and supported communities the same challenges face both teachers and students.
There are several reasons why people do not have access to education. Some of the reasons include:
Conflict:
People who live in conflict zones may not have access to education because schools have been damaged or destroyed or because it is too dangerous to go to school. USAID reports that about half of all children not attending school are living in conflict zones. According to UNESCO, the first two years of the Syria crisis erased all the country's educational progress since the start of the 21st century.
Recovering these missed years also takes more time and effort, with many Syrian children requiring psychosocial care that hinders a "normal" learning curve. Without quality education, many fear that Syria’s children will become a lost generation.
The situation in Ukraine and the Middle East have only added to this crisis with people fleeing their native home to secure safety. As a result, hundreds of thousands of students and teachers are without basic education due to the reliance on physical infrastructure and human resources.
Climate Change:
Climate-related events like El Niño and La Niña can also destroy or damage classrooms, leaving them closed for long stretches of time (or indefinitely).
Increasing intense weather events create challenges in attending an educational institution with many unreachable, too dangerous, or simply having to close for the safety of students and teachers.
Discrimination:
AGE - According to UNICEF, adolescents are twice as likely to be out of school compared to younger children. Globally, that means one in five students between the ages of 12 and 15 miss school. As children get older, they face increased pressure drop out so that they can work and contribute to their family income.
A recent survey by UNICEF found the mass exclusion of girls and young women from education in Afghanistan has hindered strategic goals with 7.8 million children out of school across the country.
GIRLS - In many countries around the world, girls are more likely to be excluded from education than boys. According to UNESCO, up to 80% of school-aged girls who are currently out of school are unlikely to ever start. For boys currently out of school, the rate of never starting school is just 16%. This rate is highest in emergency situations and fragile contexts (such as conflict).
DISABILITY – Accessibility issues within schools, transport, technology support, lack of training for special needs children
BULLYING - many children faced sexual violence and bullying in schools. Children will often drop out of school altogether to avoid these situations
DISTANCE
People living in rural or remote areas may not have access to schools or other educational institutions. Shortage of well-trained teachers in these areas compounds the problem
FINANCE
People cannot afford the cost of education, such as tuition, fees, and books. Unpaid teachers also leave the industry. The cost of education extends beyond just tuition fees; it also encompasses indirect costs such as the loss of potential income when students, particularly in low-income households, need to work to support their families.
TOILETS
Access to clean and safe toilets increases the amount of time that children can be in school. Many schools have no toilets (let alone separate bathrooms for boys and girls). This means missed school days for kids with minor stomach bugs - or for girls who get their period. The World Bank estimates that girls around the world miss up to 20% of their school days due to their period. Usually this is because they don't have sanitary pads or private bathroom facilities.
A new age of education is starting to evolve with the demand from students and teachers to learn and teach within an online learning environment outside the traditional model.
Families are seeking private education for their children against underfunded and overcrowded schools with some sacrificing food to pay for these private lessons.
Within Australia, the demand for educational services has surged – whether its HSC students looking for extra support leading up to exams or those in correctional facilities seeking to learn a new skill.
In China, parents are sourcing educational companies in Australia via WeChat to tutor their children against a government ban on domestic private tutors.

In a country hobbled by economic crisis, families often turn to private education centers instead of schools to seek better futures for their children, sometimes even sacrificing food to pay for lessons.

A ban on tutoring in China has forced major education companies to look for alternative income streams, including running remote tutoring classes in Australia.
In Australia, Think Academy offers online maths classes for students from year 1 to year 8 and communicates with parents via WeChat.

In pursuit of excellence, an odd dogma has become common in Australian education policy across the past two decades: if education could only act more like a marketplace, excellence would prevail.
Access to education is essential for people to develop their full potential and to contribute to their communities and societies. It is also critical to economic growth and development.
Interestingly, a positive correlation is beginning to evolve between high levels of crypto ownership & awareness of web3 technologies against a poorly ranked global education index.
Countries who rank within the top 20 for crypto ownership are ranked in the lowest quartile for Education Index. Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya & Nepal have the highest correlation
Opportunities:
Provide alternative education
Extra income for teachers
Offer Web3 Education
Build a global ecosystem
Remove the barriers
Open EdTech up to the world
Education Index – A component of the United Nations’ Human Development Index (HDI is calculated based on two factors: the average years of education among the adult population and the expected years of schooling for students under 25 years old.
Additionally, these individuals with the greatest awareness & ownership in the crypto space come from areas with high levels of economic inequality, low Global Youth Development Index (GYDI) ranking and a lack of trust in traditional financial institutions.
The Opportunity
The rapid advancements in technology coupled with increased internet access availability has created the opportunity for Edtech to position itself as a global services market within a digital environment.
Therefore, a global market exists filled with individuals seeking additional learning on top of their traditional offerings to those who have adopted blockchain technology but search for a safe and quality education.
Target Audience: Students from rural or disadvantaged areas. Students who are looking for private tutoring. Teachers and academic professionals looking for an additional income stream. Blockchain enthusiasts who want to participate and contribute to the platform. Anyone with a passion for learning something new. The desire to learn anything, from anywhere, at anytime has created an opportunity for a platform to provide this service.
Forbes
One industry that has been viewed as ripe for innovation and disruption for the past two decades is education. Yet, despite all of this expected potential, edtech has been evolving incrementally and adding on top of the standard learning and teaching practices rather than replacing them (Forbes, 2023)
Education Index
The index ranges from 0 to 1, with 1 representing the highest level of education.
The data used to calculate the Education Index is gathered from a variety of sources, including national statistical offices, UNESCO, and the World Bank. The index provides a comprehensive picture of a country’s education system, taking into account both access to education and the quality of education provided. It is an important tool for policymakers and researchers working to improve education systems around the world.
However, they also have some of the highest uptakes in cryptocurrency ownership in the world.
Therefore, the main driver for this platform is to help bridge that gap that so many unfortunate individuals face, largely driven by factors out of their control but who have adopted blockchain and seek a new way to learn.
We can create a more just and equitable world by ensuring everyone has access to education.

Our platform will use Web3 to create a decentralized, accessible, and transparent environment.
AR/VR, AI & Blockchain will power the EdTech world.
Assisted Learning
Moreover, learners, especially those with physical disabilities, can listen to educational content in an audio format to improve their vocabulary and encourage better interpretive reading.
Data Powered Learning
Calculate student's learning style, preferences, and interests to provide a customised learning experience using AI.
Digital Content
Digital content is comparatively easier to generate than printed content, which tends to incur higher production costs. Digital books are available in different languages and can be easily translated and retrieved by a wider user base.
Free Education
Free education will be introduced via partnerships & sponsors who are seeking to offer tutoring, classroom learning or a lecture within a live environment at no cost to the student. This could be via universities who are seeking enrolment into a particular subject area and therefore provide a free one-hour session on that subject as a taster for potential students to experience. Or large organisations in partnership with non for profits can give a lecture on a new piece of technology that users will be attracted to for future employment opportunities.
Gamified Education
Metaverse style campus with bounty programs, educational games, and immersive real time learning and teaching
Interactive Education
Decentralised learning experiences through DAO. The integration of AR and VR in EdTech solutions helps offer an interactive experience to learners. It allows learners to explore and seamlessly connect with abstract concepts and subsequently drives student engagement. Empowering students to influence curriculum design and allocate resources. Enhancing student engagement is emerging as a prime concern for educators. Hence, market players respond to such concerns by introducing advanced interactive apps, and whiteboards and shifting from projector-based displays to touchscreen displays.
NFT Credentials
Stored securely on the blockchain. Immutable & tamper-proof. Permissionless accessible.
Removing Intermediaries
Direct rewards for teachers with control of financials. Students rewarded through Learn2Earn. DAO reinvestment governance.
The decentralized environment will foster a global ecosystem of students and teachers to connect. Learning will be, accessible, and available 24/7 from live real-time teaching to content delivery courses.
A 3D fully immersive digital university-style platform will allow students to explore the campus using a fully customizable NFT Avatar
Once a user is verified using KYC they can attend educational services, connect with other users, visit the library, check out the campus shop, & much more including Free Mode.
Students enrol in classes, seek out private tutoring, or attend a lecture presentation.
Teacher control their timetable, fees and course material.

Students can learn at their own pace and receive continuous feedback, ensuring they are on the right track. Alternatively, students can enrol in long-term courses over several months with limitless opportunities for exploring subjects and topics.
$LEARN
The native $LEARN token will underpin the ecosystem, governance and community.
An in-platform token swap exchange will allow users to exchange approved fiat currency or approved* digital currency into the native $LEARN token. Only $LEARN will be accepted to access educational services.
A Learn to Earn Model (L2E) for global adoption will be incorporated into the platform for students and teachers to benefit from and enhance their overall experience.
Social
Students can explore the LearnOnChain World with NFT Avatars representing their character. Outside of a classroom environment, users can enjoy educational games, in-platform communication with other students, and social networking.
NFT Marketplace
Users can access thousands of items to enhance their avatars and study tools, alongside owning building assets for L2E benefits.
As the project will be largely driven by the community, the success will depend on them trusting the infrastructure.
Leveraging Web3 technology creates an ideal solution for storing and managing sensitive educational data, such as student grades, transcripts, and financial information.
Security: Blockchain employs strong cryptographic techniques to secure data, making it exceedingly difficult for unauthorized parties to access or tamper with it. Additionally, as many of the users will be children or people in vulnerable positions faced with factors such as social-economic conditions, cultural norms, or regional disparities the security of users is paramount. Hence, why we strongly believe in protecting the integrity and privacy of every user on the platform. All users will be vetted with high security settings as default. The gamified component of using Avatars will protect the privacy of users.
Decentralization: The decentralized nature means this data is not controlled by any one entity, which makes it more resistant to censorship and fraud. Traditional cloud storage services rely on centralized servers, which are vulnerable to attacks. In contrast, blockchain distributes data across a network of nodes, reducing the risk of a single point of failure. The platform governance will ensure the pillars of protection & regulation are met by voting on tokens approved for $LEARN swap, the direction of game and strategic decisions.
Immutable Records: Data stored on a blockchain is immutable. Once written, it cannot be altered, providing a transparent and tamper-resistant record of data history.
$LEARN Token Launch Sale – Funds raised will be used to build the platform and ecosystem (R&D, Ops, Marketing, Retention, Security, Legal Counsel)
4 Ongoing Revenue streams
1. Transaction fees for each education session*
*Fee reduced if tokens staked
(20% cut for 1:1 tuition if withdrew immediately or stake and receive less % cut)
2. NFT marketplace - NFTs will be available for purchase such as campus buildings, avatar upgrades or buying famous characters to represent the user’s avatar (i.e., Albert Einstein). A marketplace will then exist like a student shop that will take a % of each transaction.
3. Partnerships & sponsorships – With schools, universities, and any corporate or government institution who wish to advertise on the platform through billboards, NFT content or from offering trial classes.
with advertise courses/places. I.e., sponsoring maths block or presenting at auditorium.
4. LearnOnChain Token Exchange – Swap fiat or stable coins to $LEARN with fees
The objectives and long-term success cannot be achieved overnight. We are seeking partnerships to take this platform to a global audience.
Funding sources include Venture Capitalists, Blockchain Grants, Queensland Government Grants, plus Token & NFT Sales.
Hiring strategy will focus on the Sunshine Coast to create a HQ at the Peregian Beach Digital Hub. The region has become a Tech Sector capital for Australia with the Queensland Government investing heavily into the industry.
