The document discusses the benefits of using educational aids and technology in the classroom. It notes that aids can enhance classes and ensure greater opportunities for learners. Some common aids mentioned include textbooks, workbooks, newspapers, brochures, reference books, flip charts, and various types of projected materials like overhead transparencies, videos, and computer software. Guidelines are provided for selecting and using different aids effectively, such as ensuring visibility, clarity, and proportion when using visual aids, and limiting content and font sizes when making transparencies.

MANAGEMENT OF ATRIOVENTRICULAR CONDUCTION BLOCK.pdfJim Jacob Roy
Cardiac conduction defects can occur due to various causes.
Atrioventricular conduction blocks ( AV blocks ) are classified into 3 types.
This document describes the acute management of AV block.
Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

Use at least 18 point, bold simple fonts. Limit to two types of font. Vary type size to emphasize points. Lease a space equal to the height of an uppercase letter between each line. Be creative. 28. Guidelines for Video/DVD EducationConsider objectives of lesson. Prepare discussion questions for before and after the video. Introduce key points. Discourage note taking. Hand out sheet afterwards. Eliminate distractions. Show video second time when possible.
29. General Guidelines When Using Projected Materials Bottom of viewing screen or board should be at least 42” from floor. Screen should be placed in a front corner at an angle facing the CENTER of the room. Overhead projector should not obstruct the view of the screen by learners. Tilt the top of the screen forward at a 90-degree angle. This will eliminate distortion. A matte-surface screen should be used. The distance from the screen to the FIRST row of seats should equal no more than twice the width of the screen. (ex: screen is 6’ wide, no more than 12’ to first row. The distance from the screen to the LAST row of seats should equal no more than six times the width of the screen. (ex: screen is 6’ wide, no more than 36’ to the last row. No row of seats should be wider than its distance to the screen.
