3. Research
• Some of the strengths of my research is that I got to look at different
aspects of a magazine cover. Also I got to learn the names of different
parts of the cover. Before I started the magazine cover I didn’t know what
a pug was but now I do. My research helped my product because I got an
idea of what I wanted my magazine to look like from other magazines that
I have researched. Also another way that my research helped my product
is because I got to look at some colour schemes that I think go well
together. Some of the weaknesses of my research were that all the
magazines were sort of the same so I didn’t get to look at more of a
variety. To improve I could of spent more time looking for other existing
products to analyze. I don’t think it would of given much more of an effect
to my product because I already had an idea in mind of what I wanted to
do.
4. Planning
• Some of the strengths of my planning are that I got to do a mind map of
different ideas before I chose my main one. I got to come up with different
title names before I started designing. Also another strength was that I got
to look at different images so I had an idea of what I wanted to [ut on the
front of it. My planning helped my product because I got to plan how I
wanted my product to look before I even started designing. I got to know
how and where I wanted everything to go. Also another way my planning
helped my product is that in the moodboard I got to see other magazine
covers. Some of the weaknesses of my planning were that I didn’t use
many pictures from the moodboard. To improve I could of searched for
more images that were relatable to what I had originally planned. This
wouldn’t of effected my product because I did use one image that was on
my moodboard and that is my front cover.
5. Time Management
• I think I managed my time well at the start but then near the end of the
project I stared to slow down. At the start I got all the work done to the
deadline but when i started designing I spent too long on it and dropped
behind. I don’t think that my products would of improved much if I had
more time because I think I did the best I could. If I had more time I would
of added more detail into the magazine cover and also I would of spend
more time into other documents.
6. Technical Qualities
Some of the similarities and
differences between my product
and the existing product are
that:
Similarities
- Both have a title
- Both have a sub heading
- Both have a main image
- Both have a price
Differences
- The existing product includes
what is inside the magazine.
- My product includes a
barcode on the front.
- The existing product has a
pug
- The existing product has sub
images
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I think my work looks good because it is not too overcrowded and has the right
amount of text on the screen so it is readable. My product looks aesthetic because
I have followed all the conventions. The visuals that I like are the main heading
because I have made it big and bold and also I have made it have its own design. To
improve i would add more conventions to my magazine cover.
8. Audience Appeal
I have made my product appeal to my target audience by adding an image that is
to do with photography. My image is of somebody taking a photo and they are in
silhouette. This will appeal to the target audience because it will be something that
they are interested in so it will catch their eye. Some of the specific bits that are in
my magazine cover are the main image, price and main header. The reason I think
that they will appeal to the target audience because the main image stands out.
Also the price because I think it is cheap so they will be more likely to buy it. Also I
think that the main header stands out because it is bold and bit at the top of the
screen. Another reason I think my main header stands out because it has its own
design.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
The thing I like about the magazine cover is the
colour scheme. This is because all the colours go
together and really stand out to anyone that sees it.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• To improve the magazine you could add more
aesthetic qualities.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– That it gives a warm setting and very vibrant. This
is good because it might want to make people go
out and take images of the sunset.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Add more information onto the front cover to
show what is In the magazine.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I think that it is a cheap price so it will be good for
sales in the shop.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You should add more detail on the front cover so
more people know what it is about when they
have a first look at it.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I need to add more information on the
front cover so that people can see what is inside.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
• I don’t really disagree with anything that
anyone has put.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
The only thing that I would add is
more things onto the front cover
because when people look at the
front cover they actually get to know
what is in the magazine instead of
looking through it. More people are
likely to buy it if they actually know
what is in the magazine.
