3. Research
• The research helped my product because I was able to look at other
clothing brand magazines that were similar to mine and able to help me
work more efficiently.
• My research also helped me with my product by taking ideas of certain
colours, image styles and fonts on which I wanted to include on my
magazine cover and double sided sheet.
• The things that my research did not help me with was how similar all the
magazines looked, all of the magazine covers that I had research all looked
the same and I didn’t really find a unique style I could replicate, this is
because I didn’t want to copy most clothing magazines because I wanted
my idea to be original and new but it still turned out looking good and
professional so I am not complaining.
• I also struggled to find a photo that would look good with a nice
background but I did find one eventually and this helped me speed thing
up.
4. Planning
• The planning helped me create my product because I was able to plan
every step I was going to take whilst I was creating it, this helped me not
to waste time and think what to do next after I finished a step. It did take
me some time to get it the way I wanted it to be including experiencing
some complications that caused me to take so long I am still proud of the
end product and this is due to most of my planning.
5. Time Management
• My time management wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be, unfortunately I
had a fair few technical complications with my product such as not saving
and losing sections of my work and corruption whilst saving. it took longer
than I expected. I can improve this by saving after each step I take.
• I also need to improve my time keeping because I did miss the deadline
and had to finish this unit in my own time.
6. Technical Qualities
My product is similar to this Rolling Stones cover of Migos because they both feature a rapper
on the main cover, they also have the text at the back of the poster so that the photos of the
rappers stand out more.
They also share a similar type of font, this font looks like it has been handwritten, they also use
labels at the top and bottom of the covers.
The differences in both these covers are the effects presented, I have used a more dramatic eye
catching look by adding colour splits to the pictures whereas the existing cover was quite bland
in their choices when it cam to adding effects.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I did think that my work looked good, I made it how I wanted it to be, the main
aspects of my product that I found creative were the RGB split effects used
because I thought it gave a really retro colourful look to it, I also liked the effects of
my logo.
The weaknesses of this poster are the quantity of visual effects, I feel like I could
have toned it down a little bit because I feel like I wasted time getting carried away
using more and more effects.
The strengths of this poster are the labelling and realism this poster includes, it has
a realistic magazine cover to it.
8. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my target audience because I think people who are this age
really like the style my cover was presented, I also think it appeals to my audience
because this clothing brand I am promoting “Off White” is very popular in this
generation, I also think that using the rapper 21 savage as the model for this cover
gave it a good look because he is very well know by my selected age group.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the glitch effect you gave the picture in the
left corner
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could have maybe used another model rather
than just the same one in each picture.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the way that the font has been put behind
the model and half has been split slightly.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could have used more background objects in
the main photo.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I really liked the way you made the magazine cover look
like it could be a real one, you gave good info about the
clothing and added in the price list, I also like how the
layout is presented.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• To improve this I think you could have included a
special slogan used by the brand or created your own.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I do agree with my peer feedback because I think it
looks like it could be a real cover, I also agree that I
could have improved some sections of it but
unfortunately I did not have the right time to do so.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree that I should have used more models, this
poster was made for the model chosen, it was meant
to be his own collaboration with the clothing brand.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
The changes that I would make to my magazine cover are using more pieces of text such as
slogans, information about the products being promoted, adding more detail into
describing what material is used etc.
I would also change the amount of background props are being used, I do think could have
added in some more but the reason I chose not to was because I did not want it to be over
crowded.
I would also use more effects because I feel like my target audience enjoyed the fact I used
these sort of visual effects such as the glitching and RGB splits.
