3. Planning
• Strengths: Doing planning helps me think of an final idea for my project, also
it makes me think of ideas and I can make further developments. Also when I
have planned it all and make the product it shows me what I have made
changes to and developed to a better idea.
Weakness: A bad thing about planning is that it can take ages to think of a final
project so that would slow down my time management. Also you could think of
one idea but can not develop the idea any further or it doesn’t go with the criteria
so therefore it doesn’t work.
• Style sheet – The style sheet helped me towards my final idea as it made me
think what photographs to take of and what colours to think of for my cover
photos. It also made me develop my ideas on what type of fonts to use.
• Schedule- The schedule got me thinking how to mange my timing correctly
and to make sure my work Is done in time. It helps me think of what
equipment to use for my photoshoot.
• Contingency planning – This type of planning helped me think of the bad
possible things could happen when I'm doing my practical part of my project.
Its only procedures I have to follow so everything goes to plan.
• Health and safety- this planning is a good help as I think about my safety and
others safety around me and to look out for them, with this planning it helps
me think of the potential issue and how I prevent them from happening.
4. Research
• Strengths: research allows me to show my ideas though others work, I
explain why I think that magazine but also take there ideas and use them
on mine so it makes it better, I develop my ideas through the existing
product. Though the research I had to be carful on how I say things not to
offend anybody, so I have to think before I write it down.
• The existing product has learnt me how to get the readers attention by
using bright colours and highlighting words, also using amazing eye
catching photos so they want to read and learn more tutorials.
• Weaknesses: A rubbish thing about research is that it can take a while to
actually find magazines like your idea, internet doesn’t have everything.
The existing magazine you have found isn’t appropriate to your target age
range so they wouldn't be able to see it.
5. Time Management
• Yes managed my time alright even though I didn’t manage to do the
photographs straight away I did them in college time and then I straight
away edited them to how I wanted to.
• If I had more time I would of gotten my model to dress up more better as I
feel as I wanted him to wear something casual but more smarter but the
photos turned out okay. Also would of found better background for the
photograph.
• I did complete my project in time as with the planning I knew what I was
doing. The article took awhile to complete as it wasn’t just putting it all
together I had moved things about to make it look more realistic and
professional. The writing was hard for the article as I had to think of how I
edited it and how to word things in a professional way to seem that I do
know what I am doing and talking about.
6. Technical Qualities
Bold, bright,
clear title.
Bright, clear, subtitle.
Win a gift if

bold, highlighted
words, clear, subtitle.
bold, clear, normal

Getting the readers

free gift.
Bold, clear,
simple font,

big font, clear,
simple font,
bold.
Small writing,
bold, simple
font.
Similarities: bold titles, catchy
headlines,
Both tutorials, both same colour
schemes.
Different fonts to get readers attention.
Differences: got different subjects
they are taking about, existing
product has more subtitles, existing
product has no price on the magazine
cover.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
Yes I think my magazine looks good as it’s a
simple but its bold and still gets people
reading and learning from it.
I love that the final edit looks graffiti art,
also its different to anyone else's
magazine.
The front cover Is plain, dark toned but
then the insert/double page spread it
more bright and more noticeable.
I would of gotten a better quality
photograph for my front cover as I think its
not a good quality photo.
I would of gotten my model to move to
another stance so it might have changed
general look of the model while also giving
the model a different perspective to the
audience.
8. Audience Appeal
My magazine will appeal to my target audience as it’s a tutorial about
photography so anyone can actually view it, I wouldn’t let anyone under
15 not see it same as I wouldn’t be restricting about someone over 35
years old. Its not restricting to anyone to view my magazine.
The magazine isn’t stopping any type of gender not seeing it but I feel as
more women/girls would view it but, men/ boys can view it too as its only
a tutorial. The psychographic is the reformers as it is showing the audience
awareness, or helping them out.
The social status is rank or position as its towards high status people.
I feel as my magazine does appeal to my target audience very well.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how in the tutorial you turned the cover photo into a
developed piece of artwork and showed your audience step by
step on how to do it, giving the reader additional skills to use on
the Photoshop platform. The general aesthetic of the magazine
seems crisp and clear while telling you what you’d like to know.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
The cover photo could be improved by having the model do a
variation of poses and stances giving an overall better look to the
picture. The colour scheme could also be improved by including
brighter tones and more eye catching colours.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like that the front cover is black and white it makes it more
aesthetic. Also the title ‘lucid exposure’ It’s a good word to
use to make people interested in reading what's inside the
magazine.
Also the camera giveaway is a good idea to get people involved
and interested.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
I like the magazine but feel as the creator of the magazine should
have been more precise of the cropping as I still see a bit of the
white background around his head and other places. Also maybe to
get more viewers the title should be more larger as most magazines
have huge colourful title to attract people in the shop.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
• The images used are high quality and clearly show the genre of the magazine
well as photography.
• There is a nice use of plug to draw attention to features on the cover and
double page spread social media information.
• The layout of a double page spread works very well and images are clear and
detailed to narrate the text.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• there is a lot of text in the double page spread, it could have been broken up more
into steps or some main parts highlighted in bold to make it easier to follow as a
quick guide
• The cover lines on the front page are quite distracting for the viewer being at
different angels and they are very similar being mostly white.
• The title could have had more detail/different font to stand out more and if the
picture was planned better (with headroom) it would have been better placed at
the top of the page
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I do agree with the peer feedback as I feel that my
magazine images are high quality and it clearly shows
the genre of the magazines photography.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
• i disagree with the feedback about my headline as they
said that tit would have been better if the title was at the
front of the page but I placed it in mid of the top of the
page as I wanted it to look different to other existing
magazines.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
Overall I liked the way I designed my magazine because I think it looked
different to other peoples existing magazine and that was my plan to make
it my original work, but with the feedback I have clearly not made it better
then I thought.
But most of the feedback was good but obviously they will be slightly some
improvements as they always will be, but the feedback I had gotten off my
peers I feel as I should of edited my model more so you couldn’t of seen the
white background what I had cropped out.
Also I could of placed some more colourful and eye catching titles as it
would of gotten more people to view my magazine cover and that would of
got them interested to the inside double page spread.
Overall I am happy with my peer feedback, it helped me think about what
the audience wants and not what I want. Its all about the audiences
approval.
