2. Research
● When I began this project I had very little knowledge about magazines so the research was a very
significant help, it helped me figure out how you should write headlines and articles to make it sound as
interesting as possible for a reader.
● My weaknesses of my research would be that I did not do enough research about the artistic elements
of a product which may have impacted my final magazine design. I would have improved this by doing
more analysing magazines on artistic detail which could have translated into my work.
● Planning helped my product significantly as it helped me learn about the basic elements of a magazine
which I believe has lots of help on my final design and could also be taken into some future projects.
3. Planning
● I believe the biggest strength of my planning was helping me create my genre of magazine, the planning
had me explore multiple genres to choose from and helped me decide on a final choice quite well. It also
helped me come up with my structure very well which I could then thoroughly finalise in my pre-
production.
● My weaknesses for my planning I also creating the artistic elements of my magazine, I believe I could
have given myself more options for how I wanted to create my magazine which would have helped me
with my final product as it may have improved how the magazine looked.
4. Time Management
● I believe many elements of my time management was done well, I never ended up behind schedule
during the course and I mostly managed to finish my work in the time span given to do it. I never ended
up ahead of schedule though so this may need improvement in the future just in case I am given shorter
time spans for work to be completed.
● With additional time I would have used this to firstly gather more real life pictures for my magazine as I
do not have as many as I wished to have by the end of my project. I would have also used some more in
production as I would have liked to have improved on my final product mor.
● I managed to complete my project on time but I do believe additional time would have helped this
project substantially.

Includes multiple images
and headlines along with
background.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
● I believe my work had certain elements that looked very good. One example is the use of
the logos being blended into the background of the design, I also liked how the headlines
on the front cover popped out to a reader well, this would work well for customers as the
first things they see is popular brands as well as interesting stories, this would then make
them want to read more about the magazine, making it a strong section of the magazine.
● I think the biggest weakness to the design is the colour scheme. Some elements of the
colours look nice but I would say the majority is quite bland which does not make it look
very good.
8. Audience Appeal
● I believe this appeals to my target audience very well. I believe my target audience, older
teenagers(16-18), would be interested in my magazine as it can get anyone's attention
quite easy through the strong headlines along with the images that follow with it. These
together can use things my target audience likes and sell the magazine to them easily.
● I can improve this by improving the colour usage on my final product, this is because I do
not believe the colours fit the genre enough so some of the target audience may glace
over the product if it was on store shelves. This could be done through some
adjustments by adding some brighter colours to the backgrounds.
