2. Existing Product
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnX1wLPjxVw
The existing product that I am reviewing is a promotional video for a travel agency. In this video that have many aspects of
video. They have filmed many good shots in this video. It is important to make sure you get nice shots when you are
recording something about a place that people are looking to visit because if they aren't appealed to the place then the
travel agency wont sell as many holidays etc. The colours that they have used show that the places are very beautiful
because when we see the sea as light blue as the video we know that the place is nice. I imagine the person that shot the
video already planned what he wanted to add into the video before making it. As the camera man went a long he probably
found other shots that looked good. Before he created the video he would of made all of the other graphic that he put on
top of the video. I really like the designs that he added because they fit well into the video to give people information
about traveling and booking holidays. I also really like the fonts that they have used over the video because they give us a
summery vibe from the way they look. The video makes people want to watch this video because it gives a wide range of
video footage from around the world that people can look to travel to. From this video I have found a few techniques that I
like and will implement them into my project. This includes things such as the text over the video footage and also the
Animated video.
3. Existing Product
The existing product that I am reviewing is an animated travel
promotional video. This whole thing is animated and doesn’t have any
footage in that is filmed by a camera or something like that. I am
planning on including a little section in my video that is animated so
that’s the reason I am looking an an existing product that is animated.
This video has the same theme the whole way through, they have kept
it very simple and clean. They have kept the images in the center of
the screen and kept the writing on the outside of theat. I think this is
really clean because they have used simple and short words that
makes it easy for the audience to understand. I like that coice of
colours that they have used and also the way they they have used
them too. Every time a new frame comes up the background colour
changes too. Also something else that I really like is how they have
implemented the name of the brand into the middle of the video so
the audience can get a good understanding on who they are. I like the
fonts that they have used because they have kept them simple so
people can easily read them and don’t have to try figure out what it
says. I like that they have used all different kinds of fonts in the video
because I think this makes it more interesting to watch. This product
make the audience keep watching the video because it stays
interesting throughout the whole video. This is important because you
don’t want to make a vieo that people arent going to enjoy. Another
way I think that this product get people to keep watching is because of
the music as I think it fits the theme perfectly. From this product I have
learned that it is important to keep the designs simple and not too
over the top because people wont have the time to read everything
and will end up getting bored.
4. Existing Product
This website that I have chose for my existing product has kept to three simple colours to make it appealing for
the audience to look at. Red is the brightest colour so it will catch peoples eye. This helps the website because
it has the most information on and they will want more people to look at the banner. The Trustpilot part of the
website is a different colour to everything else because that’s the colour of their brand. Trustpilot and the
website will most likely have some sort of deal to be featured on their website. This will help Trustpilot because
it is a totally different colour to any thing else on the page. The website also uses a range of power words to
make it that little bit more interesting to read and that will also give more information about different parts of
the website. I think this website makes people want to book flights through this page because it gives out a lot
of information on the website and also includes some of their benefits that they give out. I have chose to look
at this product because I think it can really help me out with my product in the long run because of some of the
aspects that it has used. From this existing product I have learned that it is important to show the best parts of
your website on the from page to make sure you keep the audience interested.
5. Existing Product
This promotional poster is promoting a special offer for a limited time only.
My poster will be different to this because I will be creating a poster that
will promote people to travel and try to get them intrigued. This poster has
created a lot of images out of existing products/places. They have recreated
them in a software, possibly photoshop and they have made them into a
cartoon sort of form. I am thinking about doing something similar with my
images. A lot of planning must have gone into this poster because of the
way everything is set out. I like how everything on the poster is coming out
of the iPhone as this really shows that some thought has gone into the
poster and not just some images on a page that has something to do with a
certain topic. The colours that they have used really go well together and
they stand out and catch the eye of the target audience. In my poster I think
I will use the same sort of colours because this is one of my favourite colour
schemes. They have used the colour blue to represent the sky because the
poster is about traveling so you will more than likely be in the sky. I like the
fonts that they have used because they are very simple and it makes it
easier for everyone to read. Also I like the fact that they have used a variety
of fonts and not just the same one throughout the whole poster. The poster
makes you want to interact with this because I think it is very interesting to
look at if you are interested in this subject. If I am honest the poster doesn’t
have that much information on so I do not think it promotes the topic very
well. From the poster I cant tell what is on offer so this is definitely
something I will improve on my poster. I have chosen to look at this poster
because I love the way that everything is set out and I think this poster will
definitely inspire me to make something like it.
6. Research Analysis

This is the type of video that I will be looking to make. This is something I aspire to make
as they have used many different tools and they have the best of the best equipment.
Most of their clips are filmed using a drone and I think this really seperates the good from
the best. My project will be a cinematic video with the clips already recorded that I have
from a recent holiday. My project will be all about me editing the video to a standard
hopefully as good as this video. I chose this video becasuse it catches my eye and keeps
me intreagued the whole way through the video. People upload these types of videos to
youtube to make people interested in travelling. When people see how beautiful the
shots are it tends to make them want to visit the places themselves.
20. Subject Research
• https://global-goose.com/working-holiday-visas-for-british/
• This website is all about the working holiday visa. It tells you what countries are
available for this and also tells you exactly what it is. Some people may not have a
clue that the working holiday visa is available for everyone so once they find out
about it then they might be interested. I asked my target audience if they would be
interested in this and the majority of people said that they would be. To get into
australia the working holiday visa will cost $450 AUD and you must prove that you
have enouogh money to live out in australia by yourself. (This is usually $5,000
AUD) The working holiday visa is also available in so many different countries and
its all sorts of different prices and entry requirements. From this website you can
also grab different links that will help you along the way and also find the next step
on the journey. I want to create my product similar to this. My goal is to give as
much information about the working holiday visa or at least try to interst them
into thinking about it because I really do think it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
21. Subject Research
• https://www.pack-your-passport.com/2017/05/job-in-australia-working-holiday-visa.html
• This website gives you the best tips on how to find a job when you go to the
country with the working holiday visa. It may be hard to find a job once you get to
australia but this website can give you the best advice when it comes to finding a
job and will highly increase your chances. This website also tells you everything
you need to know about jobs in australia too. If you complete 3 months of farm
work then you are elegable for an extra year on top of your first year. This website
is wrote by someone who has already completed the working holiday visa nad is
now trying to help other people out too. This is exactly what I want to do with my
project ex to austalia yet. To do this is will do the most research I can and then put
that into my work. The good thing about this website is that it also leaves a space
for people to have a community discussion at the bottom of the page so people
can ask questions and then get them answered to make it much easier for the
traveller.
23. Practical Research
I didn’t do that much in this process as I only added the road in. To do
this I used the rectangle tool and set the colour to #000000. To create
the road markings i used the brush tool and set the brush size to 66
pixels and colour to #ffffff. To get the lines straight I held the shift key
and drew a line so the line wasn’t free hand.
This is the start to my practical research where I have a little
experiment in photoshop with different types of tools that I have
not used before or a tool that I want to get better at using. In this
image I made a new canvas size and set the size to 3508 x 4961
pixels as this is the regular size for a poster. I then set the blue
background colour to #00c0ff using the rectangle tool. I then used
the brush tool to draw out the shape of the clouds then then filled
them in using the paint bucket tool. Then i duplicated the layer to
create more than one cloud in the sky.
24. Practical Research
In This process I created a path and also some building to give the
experiments some more scenery. I create the path I used the rectangle tool
and set the colour to #505050 because this represents the colour of a
walkway. I then added a curb and i did the exactsame thing by using the
rectangle tool but made the shape much smaller. Then i went on to create
the buildings, to do this i used the rectangle tool again and used the colours
#781e1e, #781e1e and #781e1e. I wanted make the buildings all different
shapes and sizes so it doesnt look too simple but still looks nice for the
viewer. Then i added the windows onto the buildings by using the
rectangular marquee tool and then i used the paint fill tool to change colour
of the windows to make them look realistic.
In this I only added the brand name “Travel Destination”. This is
because it gives brand recognition so the user will be able to
identify the brand. I used the font called Myraid Pro, I used this
font because it is easy on the eye and makes it easy to read for
the user.
25. Practical Research
In this I added a car because I had an idea where I wanted the
sky and a car to be animated because I wanted to experiment
with the timeline. I made the wheels using the ellipse tool and
the pixel size is at 399 pixels in size and height. I then duplicated
the layer and moved it to the other wheel arch to give the
aesthetic appeal of a car. Then I made the body of a car using
the pen tool and made the colour of this #7d7d7d and made
the colour of the windows #cecece because I think this colour
would match very well.
In this process I used the timeline to create an animation. Every time I made a new slide
I moved the sky and the car a few spaces forward by dragging them with the mouse.
When I felt like there had to be a new cloud in the sky I duplicated the layer and put it
into a position I liked. At the end of the experiments I was hoping to make the clouds
and the sky move by them self and a decent speed. Originally I set the speed so it
would have no delay but then I realised that it was too fast so I upped the speed to 0.1
seconds and this turned out perfect.

If you do any additional subject research, record that here. This might be most relevant if you are producing a magazine or a documentary but even a fiction trailer might require some additional research in to a particular subject.
Getting some background information on your subject would be a really good idea.
Find some resources, log them, read them and write something about them.

Undertaking practical research is another great way to improve your project. Experimenting with techniques, equipment and processes you might want to use in you project will help you plan for the future.
Think about what you will research. It could be studio photography, or sound recording, or post-production techniques for video or animation techniques for a video game. Tutorials are useful here.
Make something similar but unrelated to your chosen idea.
Do not make it a version of your final product; it is an experiment
Provide a reflection of the processes you used and how it has been useful.
Don’t do something that you already know how to do.
