3. Research
• I think a strength of my research was that I could see various types of
magazine on the internet so it showed me how to properly lay out the
front cover for my type of magazine.
• I also think my research was helpful as it helped me find which brands I
would include within my magazine for designer wear and it also showed
me how to advertise this onto my front cover.
• Another strength would be looking up the different clothes used so I could
include a model for the front cover of magazine wearing these clothes and
it would make it look more like it had actually been thought about.
• A weakness of my research would be that I didn’t spend that much time
on it so I didn’t get the full use out of the time I could’ve searched more
thoroughly and found more things to include.
4. Planning
• A strength of my planning would be that I did end up setting my final cover
out very similar to how I had in my planning. This helped me move on fast
and get more work done quickly.
• A weakness would be that I could’ve looked up more photography
magazines rather than just fashion magazines. This would’ve helped me to
know properly what to include within my magazine rather than just what
is on the front.
5. Time Management
• I didn’t manage my time as well as I could’ve done but I feel as though I
could’ve managed it worse.
• I have finished my project on time although I feel as though I could’ve
added more to make my project better if I had more time and used it
more effectively.
• I would’ve added more information and more products inside my
magazine if I’d have had longer.
6. Technical Qualities
My magazine is similar because the
masthead and subheading are both in
the same place.
However the magazines are also
different because my magazine has
different brands which are featured
inside the magazine down the left
hand side whereas the other magazine
has different subheadings and offers
down their left hand side.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I feel as though my work looks good as a final product and
it looks more professional than I originally thought it was. I
think it was creative how I had my model wearing some of
the products which were advertised on the front of my
magazine.
I think the outlined versions of the logos look better with
the contrasting back background.
I would add more information about the contents of the
magazine to the front cover if I were to improve anything.
8. Audience Appeal
My magazine appeals to audiences who like
designer wear. This could be a variation of
all ages and classes ranging from working
class to higher class. It would appeal to
people who are also interested in fashion in
general and like clothes. It also appeals to
materialistic people who like anything
which has a high value. It would also appeal
to ‘the belonger’ as they would buy clothes
which this magazine advertises to fit in and
keep up to date with fashion in order to
feel as though they belong within a certain
or any group.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the black background as it made the white
logos and the model stand out more.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– More information about the actual magazine as it
doesn’t really tell you about what’s inside.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how the magazine follows classic magazine
conventions and the centre image really brings the
viewers eye in as it has a dark background.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I don’t like the font used.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the detail about the jacket featured inside the
magazine as it told me what it was going to protect
against.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think the border on the inside of the magazine
could’ve looked a bit better as it looked a bit tacky.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I could’ve added more information about
the contents of the magazine.
– I also agree I could’ve used a better font.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
• I disagree with the border being tacky I think the
border fit and went with the theme of my
magazine.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
If I were to change anything about my magazine I would follow my feedback and change
the font which I used for the magazine as I think I could’ve use a more professional font
for my magazine as it is designer wear and that is seen as a higher class type of
magazine so the people reading would want a magazine which looks more
professionally done.
I would also add more information to my magazine as at face value the magazine
doesn’t look like it would include information from what you can see on the front as
there are just designer logos and a model and no actual subheadings telling you what to
expect within the magazine.
