3. Research
• The strengths for my research was that looking at existing magazines made me
able to get inspiration from them to make my own magazine. It helped me get
ideas for me to do different colours with my picture to make it look different.
With my design I made my air max shoe a different colour. This made my
magazine look better. I also did spray paint designs to make it look more street
and urban. Also for my magazine, I put a paint splatter for the background to
make it look cooler. I used the splatter paint tool on Photoshop. This made my
work look better and helped my product look better.
• One weakness was there was a lot of different magazines that I could work off.
But it was hard for me to find an idea for me to work off. I could have had a
selection of magazines to look at. But I didn't do that. Another weakness I
hade was their was a big range of clothing and branding I could inspiration
from for my product and magazine. This lead me to spend more time on
choosing what genre on clothing and genre of design I wanted to choose for
my final product. Not my experiments.
4. Planning
• One of my strengths of my planning, was that I could make my work look
like how I wanted to make it look. It was creative work what made it look
better for me what was good because I like that type of work. The
planning made my product look better on the outcome. I made a little
plan before I did my actual magazine. This was a good way to get a few
ideas that I could build up for my actual magazine.
• There was one big weakness with my planning. The work did take longer
then I expected because my planning wasn't solid a plan for a bit because I
didn't’t have all my ideas together yet. This made it harder for me to do
my work. This did take longer then I expected because I couldn't find out
what I wanted to do. This made me delay my work. However there was a
benefit of planning my work out. This was I could find out the exact genre
of clothing I wanted to do. Also with my a bit of help with my survey
monkey it gave me the style people also liked. This helped me to make the
exact product and magazine they wanted.
5. Time Management
• When I was doing my work I was able to manage my time really well because I did all
the work I can in the lesson time what was good. I also was able to finish my work by
the deadline and a little before it. This made me on track to do my work. If I had added
additional time I would of had the chance to do more work and maybe improve and
come up with more designs. With the more time I had I would add more details and
design elements. However I was good at keeping my time when I was making my t-shirt
design. This was because I broke it down to certain lessons. This kept me on top of my
work what was good. With my magazine It was a bit different. I spent a lot of time on it.
I did this because I wanted to make my work look good as possible. I also added loads
of paint tools to the background of my magazine to give it a 80s/70s mix street
magazine background style. I wanted it to contrast from the new modern urban
outwear street style and link to background street styles. What contains of graffiti,
messy world play art, and bubble contrast graffiti. I did not need additional time even if
I hade it. This is because I did all my work in the time space I was given. What's good. I
also like the work I did anyways.
• However one thing that did take some time was the writing for my magazine for
mastheads what did take a bit of time. This did take longer then usually because I didn't
have planning for what I was going to write before my planning. This intern made my
work to be delayed. But i made sure I cached up with it
6. Technical Qualities
My magazines and double page spread are
on the left. But the other magazines I'm
comparing to are on the right. My
magazines have similarities to the others
one due to the colors. However it also has
the same type of style of design and
repetition. With my double page spread I
made it look different unique from double
page spreads. However the existing double
page spread is like mine with the different
design elements in it.
The double page
spread on the right is
spread done in the
way with reflective
lighters in the
background. However
mine is just a normal
colour spread.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I think my work looks really good. I tried to be very creative
and wanted to make my work look better as well and
different. I like that my magazine and t-shirt design are
unique. My tee design was made to look a bit industrial.
What is one reason I made it for it to be wearable. I also
made it look better. If I had time to improve I would add on
more paint colors to my magazine. One strength of this I was
able to use computer tools to create a good strong piece of
work.
8. Audience AppealThe way I made it appear to
my target audience was
through making my tee have
intricate designs on it. My
target audience is between
the age of 11 to 20. I made
my t-shirt design appeal to
them through making the
colours vibrant, sharp and
also contrasted. I did this
because a younger audience
like lighter colours. I also
used spray paint cans. I did
this so it would appeal to a
urban street audience. What
has a total of a younger
audience of 80%.
Also for the back design for my t-shirt I made it look
cartoonish what would appeal to younger audience. But
also added in a hammer and spanner. This was to add in
a funny gamic.

how you have created it because of the fashion

makes it very unique.

magazine designs. I also would have had a similar
colour scheme for the double page spread as well.

14. Peer Feedback Summary
If I had the chance to make any changes to work I would make my magazine have
more writing. This is because it would have grabbed the reader more and
interested them into the magazine. This is one thing I would do to make it better.
Also a other thing I would change would be adding in more edits to my magazine
cover. I would do this because it would make my magazine even more interesting.
Also with my double page spread I would have added different colours to the
background so it wouldn't be the same. So I would change it. I would also add
more images to it. Because it would promote more of my brand and magazine.
For my magazine I used a lot of editing tools. I used lasso tool to cut out colours
of my product then added in colours through the paint tool. I also used the magic
eraser tool to get ride of the hard edges. I also added in to my magazine a big
cover headline to make it look better and stand out. One weakness of my product
is the tee could only be worn by the certain age group. The age group who are
interested into those type clothes. However the strength about the tees was that
it hit its target audience really well. This was because of how the design looked
and how their was graffiti art on the tee. The feedback I got helped me to do my
work better what was good for me so I know what I could improve on and make
better.
