ASA Codes
Number Name Brief Description
1 Compliance No law breaking a using indecent images.
2 Recognition of
marketing
communications
Make sure it appears as an advert, logos, slogans
images.
3 Misleading Adverts Don’t lie about the product.
4 Harm and Offence Cannot be used if it offends or harms someone in
some way.
5 Children Don’t promote dangerous behaviour or pressure
the children in some way. Aswell, make sure
children will see it and could react badly so prevent
any change of habits.
6 Privacy Make sure any celebrity used has been informed
and has allowed you to use them in the advert.
13 Food, food
supplements
and associated
health or nutritional
claims
Can’t create and promote bad dietry habits and lie
about the effects the product will have on the body.
Mind Map
Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
• It allows you to look at all the different paths you can take the advert and help analyse the best choice.
• It’s a good way to gain peer reviews without wasting loads of time on an advert that doesn’t look good.
Aswell with the peer review you can easily change thing to implement them in the completed advert
mindmap.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Not a visual graph, which means pictures described may not be understood and you would have to create
the full picture still and perhaps get it turned down.
• Colour schemes won’t be fully understood since there are hundreds of different shades and can confuse
people when trying to understand the scheme.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I enjoy using this method because, it’s easy to edit ideas and look back on all ideas. This means if you
suddenly come up with an idea you can write it down as soon as possible whilst keeping everything in
order by moving it after to the correct location of the mind map. Furthermore you can create an image
with words so you don’t forget what image was going to be created in detail, and able to remember a
certain slogan which can be changed or edited at any point in time.
Mood Board
Ideas to search for:
1. The different flavour of

2. Football player shooting
3. Gamer drinking coke
4. Destiny gameplay where
player is losing
5. Destiny gameplay of a win
screen
6. Speed waves to show the
can is moving across the
poster
7. Football Fans
8. Footballer drinking coke
9. Coke can kicking a football
10. Game character drinking

12. Famous people who
would shock audience
13. Coca cola logo
14. Different version of coca
cola logo
15. Custom coca cola can.
Different flavoured cola can to
represent the different colours
that could be used.
The adjustments to be
made on photoshop will be
the player kicking the cola
can.
These car light streams are
just an example of what the
balls trail would look like
when kicked across the
poster.
This photo is to represent what
atmosphere you can create
when drinking cola.
Picture of football player
drinking cola but player will be
different the the final design.
This photo will be
photoshopped to
show the cola can
kick the football.
The video game
character drinking the
coke shows that no
matter the dimension
that coke still stands
strong.
This retro logo shows the
evolution of the logo and
shows how long that cola has
been in the top market.
This modern day logo shows
how they’ve made it more
streamline and flows more
since there are no other words
to distract.
Photos still to be implemented will be
two different logos of custom made
coca cola logos one for a football
design and one for a gaming design.
These two photos represent the way you can play before and after
drinking coca cola. These can show how the energy in the cola has
helped with the player reaction time and they have been able to help
the team get the victory.
This will be used between the defeat
and victory photo to basically say “grab
the right drink to victory”
Picture of a gamer enjoying a
beverage of cola and looking
happy when drinking.
Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
• A strength behind using a mood board is that it allows you to look at a variety of ideas at the same time,
this makes it easier to compare them and pick a couple final picture for the complete project
• When being looked at by someone else the mood board can be analysed and with the description about it
below can make it beneficial for photos to be chosen.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• It doesn’t provide a description of the different paths which may confuse the person looking at the mood
board.
• Can be difficult to understand the ideas and how they all link together which links to the first weakness.
• Some of my ideal photos weren’t able to be used since they would require photoshop to create of would
have to do my own picture.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes, Because it allows you to analyse your ideas and to make sure that all of your ideas make sense to you
and link to the audience. Furthermore, with the description you won’t forget yuor plan of what you’ll do
with the photo which makes it easy to just go back to at anytime. With a mind map a mood board is
perfect to finish your point and show that you understand how i would edit and include the photos.
Style Sheet
The first three are bold and
go straight to the point and
makes the reader change
focus from one thing to the
poster.
The bottom three are
there to introduce a new
topic of the poster or to
change all around focus
so they don’t get bored
looking at the same fonts.
These three are very masculine
and strong styles which can put
new points across which may
normally be ignored.
The final three styles are
more refined gentle
styles which are there to
flow writing and appeal
to the audience to make
them imagine the cola
the poster describes.

Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
• This method allows you to assess the different styles of font which can allow you to match certain font
and colours to pictures to make a linked image.
• Allows you to go through your colours and find out which one would be the best scheme, with this you
can go back to the mood board and find out which pictures will then start link perfectly.
• Save time when wanting to pick font since you go into the creation knowing which fonts are going where.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Fonts may not be used and could find a new one during the creation which means you’ve wasted all the
time.
• Colour sheet would be limiting since it doesn’t account for the different shades of colour for each image
used.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes, since it allows a clear understanding of fonts and lets you put together small ideas quickly.
Additionally, the point of explaining where each font could go allows you to easily choose which three you
need to look through for certain images or description.

Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
• The strengths of using this method would be that it allows you to see what the poster could look like
which means if not liked can be easily changed.
• Further, you can experiment with different layouts and then decide which one you like the best
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Doesn’t implement full finished ideas which means when looked at you wouldn’t be able to give a full
opinion because the outcome could change.
• The size of the poster might not be fit for down scale to be a small window on the side of the screen.
• When a poster is up in public only a small chunk of people walking past might see it because of all the
distractions in the modern day.
• Can cost a lot of money to put up poster which then might not be seen.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I like this method since it allows me to look at different options and decide the best look for my poster.
Which means i can also compare all m designs when i’ve completed a few layouts.
Brainstorm
Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
• Allows a group to put together loads of different ideas to then create one full image or design.
• Creates an image for the group to follow and keep on track and look back at
• Gives the group access to creating different scenarios for the specific task
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Once a good point has been presented, other points may not be looked at even though they could be
better
• There could be all different ideas which means when it comes to picking one ideas it can be almost
impossible to decide.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes, because it allows for the group to create a large idea from multiple ideas. This is also a good method
since you can create a rough scenery for the characters and create a rough script which may or maynot be
used.
Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
• Allows for us to speak our ideas and then when we listen to it we can edit it slightly
• Additionally, you can get slight idea boosters from comments which can expand something that wasn’t
though fully of.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• You might get disappointed by the response you get and not feel great to make a better idea.
• Might have to do an advert that you end up not being motivated by and might not create something to
the best of your abilities because of it.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes, because it allowed me to understand new things of my idea which i didn’t spot which allowed me to
expand the idea further. Whilst creating positive motivation towards the project that created a bigger
idea concept which developed the advert further.
Formal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
• It allows you to propose information to anyone without having any stress of
remembering something about the advert since anything that needs to be known
is on the pitch.
• additionally, it creates a big picture with the smallest amount of writing needed so
it’s simple to understand.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• There’s loopholes where people will always find something different to ask which
means you need to know exactly what is happening so you can encounter those
questions positively.
• You might not understand of you would do some parts of the advert so you might
not want to involve it, since it’s a formal proposal, and that idea could be an
ingenious idea.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes i enjoyed it because, it allowed us to evaluate our own toughts which is
something that benefits the advert since the most amount of work has gone into it
and is a multitude of thoughts put together
Storyboards
• Strengths of using this method
• It allows you to visualize the sounds and the way all the effects can be put
together. Aswell it further pushes for a stronger sense of imagery to create a more
powerful radio advert.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• You might not understand how to put your ideas into a sound, which could ruin
the plan behind the original idea.
• It might not be clear what your storyboard represents so you might lose the plan
when you first look back at the storyboard and could be stuck in finding the
correct sounds.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I didn’t use this method but, if i did i would enjoy using it. The reason is that after
putting my ideas down i can happily look through for sounds or try to create them.
Additionally, it’s better to put your ideas down as soon as possible so a story
board allows you to do that without losing any information over night. Allowing
for the best possible outcome for the advert.
Initial Reaction
My first reaction to the advergame is that i can experiment with ideas which weren’t
the best to be a short game but good enough for an advergame this.
The advergame will allow me to improve my skills for future projects and also can
increase my understanding of the programs used.
Initial Reaction
• Strengths of using this method
• You can look back at what you initially thought of the project and look at what you
felt would happen. You can look back on yourself about ideas and discover some
ideas you didn’t think of at the time.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Might not know how i could animate the game or use the specific software which
you’re talking about.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• yes , because it allows me to put what i might forget down on paper which allows
me to look back and remember find initial thoughts
Sketches
Sketches
• Strengths of using this method
• Allows you to express your images onto a page and lets you go back to them to
bring them to life on the screen and create an easier animation.
• Aswell it produces a background for you to work off and makes sure you’ll never
forget any ideas that come to your head
• Weaknesses of using this method
• If you lose the sketch you might forget the ideas that was on the page when it was
lost.
• Furthermore, if you don’t understand what you have put onto the page you might
not know how to fit them all together in the final animation. In effect it could have
been a major good change.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes i enjoyed this method since it allowed me to flow all my ideas onto the page
so i can never forget what i had plans since i included. Additionally, the sketch
allows for me to express my ideas without others seeing them then the finish
product are the ones that would be worth showing off.
Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
• The good things about the formal proposal is that it allows you to show board the
entire idea whilst also making sure you show that there is no problem with any
religion, ethnicity and making sure it appeals to the age group selected correctly.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• If anything goes wrong you would have to rethink the entire idea and to make
sure that nothing goes through any loop holes.
• additionally , you need to make sure that everyone you’re talking to will appeal to
the selected type of advergame you try to create.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• Yes, since it allows for you to look through the entire project and discover what
you need to add and to make sure that the project that you are creating.
• Furthermore, it creates an understanding of what your project will become and
create a better advergame in the end of it all.

1. communication methods pro forma

  • 2. ASA Codes Number Name Brief Description 1 Compliance No law breaking a using indecent images. 2 Recognition of marketing communications Make sure it appears as an advert, logos, slogans images. 3 Misleading Adverts Don’t lie about the product. 4 Harm and Offence Cannot be used if it offends or harms someone in some way. 5 Children Don’t promote dangerous behaviour or pressure the children in some way. Aswell, make sure children will see it and could react badly so prevent any change of habits. 6 Privacy Make sure any celebrity used has been informed and has allowed you to use them in the advert. 13 Food, food supplements and associated health or nutritional claims Can’t create and promote bad dietry habits and lie about the effects the product will have on the body.
  • 4. Mind Map • Strengths of using this method • It allows you to look at all the different paths you can take the advert and help analyse the best choice. • It’s a good way to gain peer reviews without wasting loads of time on an advert that doesn’t look good. Aswell with the peer review you can easily change thing to implement them in the completed advert mindmap. • Weaknesses of using this method • Not a visual graph, which means pictures described may not be understood and you would have to create the full picture still and perhaps get it turned down. • Colour schemes won’t be fully understood since there are hundreds of different shades and can confuse people when trying to understand the scheme. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I enjoy using this method because, it’s easy to edit ideas and look back on all ideas. This means if you suddenly come up with an idea you can write it down as soon as possible whilst keeping everything in order by moving it after to the correct location of the mind map. Furthermore you can create an image with words so you don’t forget what image was going to be created in detail, and able to remember a certain slogan which can be changed or edited at any point in time.
  • 5. Mood Board Ideas to search for: 1. The different flavour of coke can 2. Football player shooting 3. Gamer drinking coke 4. Destiny gameplay where player is losing 5. Destiny gameplay of a win screen 6. Speed waves to show the can is moving across the poster 7. Football Fans 8. Footballer drinking coke 9. Coke can kicking a football 10. Game character drinking coke 11. Slapped through computer screen 12. Famous people who would shock audience 13. Coca cola logo 14. Different version of coca cola logo 15. Custom coca cola can. Different flavoured cola can to represent the different colours that could be used. The adjustments to be made on photoshop will be the player kicking the cola can. These car light streams are just an example of what the balls trail would look like when kicked across the poster. This photo is to represent what atmosphere you can create when drinking cola.
  • 6. Picture of football player drinking cola but player will be different the the final design. This photo will be photoshopped to show the cola can kick the football. The video game character drinking the coke shows that no matter the dimension that coke still stands strong. This retro logo shows the evolution of the logo and shows how long that cola has been in the top market. This modern day logo shows how they’ve made it more streamline and flows more since there are no other words to distract. Photos still to be implemented will be two different logos of custom made coca cola logos one for a football design and one for a gaming design.
  • 7. These two photos represent the way you can play before and after drinking coca cola. These can show how the energy in the cola has helped with the player reaction time and they have been able to help the team get the victory. This will be used between the defeat and victory photo to basically say “grab the right drink to victory” Picture of a gamer enjoying a beverage of cola and looking happy when drinking.
  • 8. Mood Board • Strengths of using this method • A strength behind using a mood board is that it allows you to look at a variety of ideas at the same time, this makes it easier to compare them and pick a couple final picture for the complete project • When being looked at by someone else the mood board can be analysed and with the description about it below can make it beneficial for photos to be chosen. • Weaknesses of using this method • It doesn’t provide a description of the different paths which may confuse the person looking at the mood board. • Can be difficult to understand the ideas and how they all link together which links to the first weakness. • Some of my ideal photos weren’t able to be used since they would require photoshop to create of would have to do my own picture. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes, Because it allows you to analyse your ideas and to make sure that all of your ideas make sense to you and link to the audience. Furthermore, with the description you won’t forget yuor plan of what you’ll do with the photo which makes it easy to just go back to at anytime. With a mind map a mood board is perfect to finish your point and show that you understand how i would edit and include the photos.
  • 9. Style Sheet The first three are bold and go straight to the point and makes the reader change focus from one thing to the poster. The bottom three are there to introduce a new topic of the poster or to change all around focus so they don’t get bored looking at the same fonts.
  • 10. These three are very masculine and strong styles which can put new points across which may normally be ignored. The final three styles are more refined gentle styles which are there to flow writing and appeal to the audience to make them imagine the cola the poster describes. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Colour sheet 1→ represents the diet cola 2→ represents vanilla cola 3→ represent certain game colours with cola colours 4→ zero cola 5→ representing the two teams in the poster 6→ to represent league of legends colour scheme (game)
  • 11. Style Sheet • Strengths of using this method • This method allows you to assess the different styles of font which can allow you to match certain font and colours to pictures to make a linked image. • Allows you to go through your colours and find out which one would be the best scheme, with this you can go back to the mood board and find out which pictures will then start link perfectly. • Save time when wanting to pick font since you go into the creation knowing which fonts are going where. • Weaknesses of using this method • Fonts may not be used and could find a new one during the creation which means you’ve wasted all the time. • Colour sheet would be limiting since it doesn’t account for the different shades of colour for each image used. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes, since it allows a clear understanding of fonts and lets you put together small ideas quickly. Additionally, the point of explaining where each font could go allows you to easily choose which three you need to look through for certain images or description.
  • 12. Layout Plan Custom football coca cola logo Custom game coca cola logo Drink Shoot Score Repeat Make the crowd go wild, Drink Coca Cola If video game characters get to enjoy it why don’t you Look at you losing all the time Drink Up Image of gamer drinking cola Thats better Look at you go now Play the game, Don’t let it play you
  • 13. Layout Plan • Strengths of using this method • The strengths of using this method would be that it allows you to see what the poster could look like which means if not liked can be easily changed. • Further, you can experiment with different layouts and then decide which one you like the best • Weaknesses of using this method • Doesn’t implement full finished ideas which means when looked at you wouldn’t be able to give a full opinion because the outcome could change. • The size of the poster might not be fit for down scale to be a small window on the side of the screen. • When a poster is up in public only a small chunk of people walking past might see it because of all the distractions in the modern day. • Can cost a lot of money to put up poster which then might not be seen. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I like this method since it allows me to look at different options and decide the best look for my poster. Which means i can also compare all m designs when i’ve completed a few layouts.
  • 15. Brainstorm • Strengths of using this method • Allows a group to put together loads of different ideas to then create one full image or design. • Creates an image for the group to follow and keep on track and look back at • Gives the group access to creating different scenarios for the specific task • Weaknesses of using this method • Once a good point has been presented, other points may not be looked at even though they could be better • There could be all different ideas which means when it comes to picking one ideas it can be almost impossible to decide. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes, because it allows for the group to create a large idea from multiple ideas. This is also a good method since you can create a rough scenery for the characters and create a rough script which may or maynot be used.
  • 16. Informal Pitch • Strengths of using this method • Allows for us to speak our ideas and then when we listen to it we can edit it slightly • Additionally, you can get slight idea boosters from comments which can expand something that wasn’t though fully of. • Weaknesses of using this method • You might get disappointed by the response you get and not feel great to make a better idea. • Might have to do an advert that you end up not being motivated by and might not create something to the best of your abilities because of it. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes, because it allowed me to understand new things of my idea which i didn’t spot which allowed me to expand the idea further. Whilst creating positive motivation towards the project that created a bigger idea concept which developed the advert further.
  • 17. Formal Pitch • Strengths of using this method • It allows you to propose information to anyone without having any stress of remembering something about the advert since anything that needs to be known is on the pitch. • additionally, it creates a big picture with the smallest amount of writing needed so it’s simple to understand. • Weaknesses of using this method • There’s loopholes where people will always find something different to ask which means you need to know exactly what is happening so you can encounter those questions positively. • You might not understand of you would do some parts of the advert so you might not want to involve it, since it’s a formal proposal, and that idea could be an ingenious idea. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes i enjoyed it because, it allowed us to evaluate our own toughts which is something that benefits the advert since the most amount of work has gone into it and is a multitude of thoughts put together
  • 18. Storyboards • Strengths of using this method • It allows you to visualize the sounds and the way all the effects can be put together. Aswell it further pushes for a stronger sense of imagery to create a more powerful radio advert. • Weaknesses of using this method • You might not understand how to put your ideas into a sound, which could ruin the plan behind the original idea. • It might not be clear what your storyboard represents so you might lose the plan when you first look back at the storyboard and could be stuck in finding the correct sounds. • Did you like using this method? Why? • I didn’t use this method but, if i did i would enjoy using it. The reason is that after putting my ideas down i can happily look through for sounds or try to create them. Additionally, it’s better to put your ideas down as soon as possible so a story board allows you to do that without losing any information over night. Allowing for the best possible outcome for the advert.
  • 19. Initial Reaction My first reaction to the advergame is that i can experiment with ideas which weren’t the best to be a short game but good enough for an advergame this. The advergame will allow me to improve my skills for future projects and also can increase my understanding of the programs used.
  • 20. Initial Reaction • Strengths of using this method • You can look back at what you initially thought of the project and look at what you felt would happen. You can look back on yourself about ideas and discover some ideas you didn’t think of at the time. • Weaknesses of using this method • Might not know how i could animate the game or use the specific software which you’re talking about. • Did you like using this method? Why? • yes , because it allows me to put what i might forget down on paper which allows me to look back and remember find initial thoughts
  • 22. Sketches • Strengths of using this method • Allows you to express your images onto a page and lets you go back to them to bring them to life on the screen and create an easier animation. • Aswell it produces a background for you to work off and makes sure you’ll never forget any ideas that come to your head • Weaknesses of using this method • If you lose the sketch you might forget the ideas that was on the page when it was lost. • Furthermore, if you don’t understand what you have put onto the page you might not know how to fit them all together in the final animation. In effect it could have been a major good change. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes i enjoyed this method since it allowed me to flow all my ideas onto the page so i can never forget what i had plans since i included. Additionally, the sketch allows for me to express my ideas without others seeing them then the finish product are the ones that would be worth showing off.
  • 23. Formal Proposal • Strengths of using this method • The good things about the formal proposal is that it allows you to show board the entire idea whilst also making sure you show that there is no problem with any religion, ethnicity and making sure it appeals to the age group selected correctly. • Weaknesses of using this method • If anything goes wrong you would have to rethink the entire idea and to make sure that nothing goes through any loop holes. • additionally , you need to make sure that everyone you’re talking to will appeal to the selected type of advergame you try to create. • Did you like using this method? Why? • Yes, since it allows for you to look through the entire project and discover what you need to add and to make sure that the project that you are creating. • Furthermore, it creates an understanding of what your project will become and create a better advergame in the end of it all.
