The Aesthetic Of Ruins On The Beauty Of Abandoned...
The aesthetic of ruins can help us understand aspects of interior design in terms of the lack of human
presence indicating elements we might otherwise ignore. To explore this theme, I will examine how
theorists have thought about the aesthetic of abandonment in relation to the beauty of abandoned
structures, beginning with the work of Gordon Matta Clark, in leading us to rethink our lived in
environment apart from just its visual aspect. Gay Watson introduces the idea of emptiness as a
therapeutic perspective and following this I discuss the origins of beauty in impermanence, non
selfhood and emptiness. I also analysis beauty existing in ruined buildings that reveals the relationship
between space and human beings, supported by the work of Henri Lefebvre. In order to link the use of
abandonment and aesthetic beauty, the background to Gordon Matta Clark will be briefly outlined.
Known for his site specific building cuts made in the 1970s, Matta Clark draws our attention to the
fact that we are usually too busy to notice the other significances of our living space besides its
domestic function. Apart from its interior equipment, we care little about a building s character, which
may lack functionality or an attractive aesthetic. Matta Clark s works usually focus on the abandoned
building from which he removes sections of ceilings, floors, and walls, as a part of so called
Anarchitecture . He spent several years studying French literature in Paris in 1968, the source of his

This Political Study Will Define The Reemergence Of...
This political study will define the reemergence of nationalism due to the failed economic policies of
globalization in the Brexit EU Vote. The Brexit Vote defines the lack of economic security promised
by the European Union, which had dominated much of Britain s global objectives in the world
economy. However, the problematic banking issues of the European Central bank (ECB) and the
bankruptcy of certain nation states, such as Ireland, Greece, and Portugal, have inspired a new
nationalist movement in England to leave the EU. The Brexit Vote, held on June 23rd, 2016, defined a
powerful collective process in which 51.9% of the votes decided to lave the EU. This decision was
primarily based on reclaiming British nationalism to regain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
These political trends reveal the underlying trend in nationalism as part of the growing problem of
economic inequality, which was devastating the British economy for the greater masses of working
people. The lack of resolution for the economic recession brought about a public reaction to policies
related to nationalistic objectives, which were dominated by populist sentiment: At a time when so
many Europeans are faced with unemployment, uncertainty and growing inequality (200). Certainly,
the vote for Brexit defines the underlying re reemergence of nationalism as a political option in the
opposition of failed EU economic policies.
The Brexit Vote also defined a complex new set of nationalist principles, which were based on the
turning back the clock of racial identity in the pre EU global order. For instance, the re emergence of
nationalism was also being defined by a the Anglo Saxon purity of cultural and racial traditions, which
undermined the tensions behind the Brexit Vote. In this manner, the perception of job losses in
England also exacerbated racial tensions in relation to the immigration crisis across Europe. Many
British citizens felt that a lack of regulatory process in EU immigration policy threatened their job
security due to the lower wages being paid for immigrant worker:
But others suggest it was really a cultural divide that was revealed, rather than an economic one.
Another popular explanation for the mass support for Leave

Modern Day Commercial Firms Have A System Of Computer...
Background to the Study Many modern day commercial firms have a system of computer based
network to track the activities of their employees at the workplace. Employers can track the emailing
and browsing history alongside any other activity carried out by an employee using computers even if
they clear the history (Reynolds, 2011). Companies are on the run to come up with strict policies to
track the use of the computers among employees. Some firms argue that computer based monitoring is
important although it is quite expensive to install and maintain (Hugl, 2013).
The fact that the internet is becoming one of the major business components, it has become critical for
firms to monitor how employees use it. Research indicates that a larger percentage of employers
monitor how their employees use the internet while at work. Over the last one decade, the percentages
of employers who have restricted their employees access to the company website have increased
significantly. They prefer computer based monitoring arguing that computers can handle a large
volume of data. Cangemi (2012) adds CM systems use automated advanced analytics to sift through
the large volumes of structured data, such as financial transactions, that comprise a large part of their
big data (p. 35). According to them, computer monitoring has become critical to reduce cases of
critical information from the company leaking to unwanted third parties (Lyon, 2008). The rise of the
internet has brought a chain of

A Research Project On The Data Collection Process
Manatowa Research Project Report
Identify and describe key lessons learned in your data collection process
The first potential participant I spoke with on the phone asked me a question, can any staff member
volunteer to participate or do they have to be a licensed social worker ? A very valid question and
something I had not anticipated. I did not know how to answer her at first. That fact was not part of
my research design. As explained by the University of Oxford Personnel Service UAS (2015) among
the standards in research is the practice code of being honest in proposing, conducting and reporting
research. Academic research often has class timeline parameters which puts a strain on the academic
researcher. The integrity of the researcher in academic research class may be tested by shortcomings
as the result of faults in the design phase. The academic research must choose to do the right thing and
act in an ethical manner when situations arise such as in the recruitment of participants and
modifications during the data collection phase.
Research design can eliminate potential pitfalls and challenges during research data collection and
interpretation of that data. Spending more time and effort in the design phase will help to eliminate
and/or reduce such ethical situations. Crotty (1998) suggested:
1. What epistemology, theory of knowledge, embedded in the theoretical perspective, informs the
research (e.g., objectivism, subjectivism, etc.)?
2. What

MHPA Research Paper
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, also known as MHPAEA is defined as a
federal law that prevents group health plans and health insurance issuers that provide mental health or
substance use disorder benefits from imposing less favorable benefit limitations on those benefits than
on medical or surgical benefits (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 1). Originally,
MHPAEA applied only to group health plans and group health insurance coverage, but was amended
by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to also apply to individual health insurance
coverage (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 2). The Mental Health Parity Act of 1996
(MHPA) defined that large group health plans could not impose annual dollar limits on mental health
benefits that are less favorable than any limits imposed on medical or surgical benefits (Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 6). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

medical or surgical benefits are treated in regard to dollar limits spent annually, however does not
require large group health plans or insurance issuers to cover mental health or substance use disorders

Descriptive Essay On A Summer Camp
Bill come on time to go! Tom s mom screamed. Every summer Tom has to go to summer camp. His
parents are traveling all the time because of work. Bill really doesn t like to go, he s not the athletic
type. Tom does not have a lot of friends and keeps to himself. As bill walks down the stairs to the car
he feels a little overwhelmed. Bill has gone to the camp three summers in a row and feels weirded out
when he s near the woods. The camp counselors don t like it when kids go to the woods by
themselves, apparently kids have disappeared but the counselors don t talk about it too much.
The car ride there is long. To get there you have to go far from town. You could see huge trees
swaying back and forth as you pass by, it s a little creepy. Bill arrived to the eerie camp, he saw all the
kids with their parents trying to check in and get to know the grounds. The car came to a stop and Bill
and his mom got out the car. It was a long ride there so it took Bill a minute to stretch out. Bill and his
mom walk up to the front desk, there was a young man at the desk looked like he was not in a good
mood. The man began to speak Hello and welcome to camp, do you need a room? the man said
angrily. Um yes please. Bill s mom said, but Bill zoend out the rest of the conversation. Bill I have to
go now, Bill s mom said I love you and please don t get in trouble your room number is 122. Ok mom
love you too. Bill said. His mom gave him a kiss on the cheek, gave him his room number and bags
and left.
Bill walked through the huge camp and looked for his room number. Bill has been at the camp
multiply times so it was not hard to find. 122 must be mine room Bill said out loud. The room was not
in the best condition, moss was on the outside and the grass was a little dead. Bill walk up slowly to
the door and knocked three times, Hello is anyone home. You usually get a room mate. Come in! the
other person yelled from inside. Great, Bill was hoping no one would be home. Bill opened the
creaking door slowly. When he entered he saw a boy around 14 his age sitting on one of the two beds.
Hi my names Tom, what s your name? The boy said. I m Bill. Bill does not have friends and he keeps
to himself, so he a little shy.

I m not, he snaps and snatches the paper from his brother s fingers, tossing it towards the coffee table

Yoongi laughs and Jihoon freezes. He knows that laugh. That laugh always came just before Yoongi
convinced Jihoon to do something incredibly stupid and rash. That laugh that had their mother
scolding them for hours. Oh. A cat, huh? Jihoon rubs the bridge of his nose: he can already feel the
headache forming. Does he have all his shots? Yoongi eyes him closely, eyes dropping to Jihoon s
neck for a moment, before wandering to the fridge and calling back over his shoulder. Does he bite?
Did you buy him a proper collar?
Oh. My. God. I hate you. Before he can do anything rash, like become an only child and call Hoshi for
help with burying the body, the printer comes to life again. Yoongi wraps an arm around Jihoon s
waist and yanks him back before he can reach the paper, laughing when Jihoon huffs and tries to trip
him.

Who Is Dr. Gachet
Vincent Van Gogh is a widely known painter throughout the world for multiple reasons. His paintings
weren t just paintings, they were life experiences. Van Gogh s life was an emotional and mental
rollercoaster. Every single one of his paintings contained a story behind them. The visual aspect
seemed as if they were full of motion. His painting techniques seemed to be impeccable. During the
time period in which he was working on art, there was a big movement called the Impressionism
Movement. This movement inspired artist to draw more landscapes and incorporate motion into their
art. Van Gogh took full advantage of this movement. Van Gogh s hard life and painting strategies are

When looking at the painting, dark blues consume most of the image. The portrait of Dr.Gachet is
painted with a sad, gloomy expression on his face. The painting, by Van Gogh, has a strong
connection to Vincent s personal life and relationships. This allows Vincent to apply his feelings and
experiences through the art. Dr.Gachet was a close friend of Vincent s brother Theo. Dr.Gachet was an
actual doctor that focused on homeopathic cures. He brought Vincent into his own home to try and
assist with his severe condition of depression as much as he possibly could. With living in a house
together Vincent and Dr.Gachet became close friends. Dr.Gachet even began painting as a side hobby.
Vincent would often show Dr.Gachet some small techniques when it came to painting. Dr.Gachet
became a man the Van Gogh became slightly attached to. The look on Dr.Gachet s face in the portrait
is supposed to resemble the sadness that Van Gogh had felt. Vincent felt as if his depression may have
worn off on the doctor. In the article Portrait of Dr.Gachet(July 2006) by Sandra Bertman, it states,
Van Gogh felt particular affinity for him on account of their similar bouts with depression and their
dependency on their vocation for emotional and intellectual fulfillment (para.3). With knowing the

Essay on British Rule in Florida
The British were not good rulers because they had only ruled for 20 years, while Spain had dominated
Florida for over 288 years. The British were weak, the only reason they got Florida was because they
were teamed with the French. This of course was before the Treaty of Paris. In 1672 the British had
captured Havana but the use of it was nothing. Many of the British territories had recruiting programs
that were not hard to like. Also when the British were working for good times luck was not there for
them. Crops died within the first few months of their new colony. Also more diseases had really hurt
the British. Diseases as in mosquito bites that cause malaria. For some colonists British times were
very hard. This was a big reason why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One raid on the American South was so serious Colonel John Baker had to surrender to the British.
Soon after the attack the American Revolutionary War was almost about to happen. Some loyalists
remained well..loyal to the British during that time period. The 2 sides as in the east and west side
were very royal colonies. Even though the Spain had ruled for a longer period time. The British had
one advantage they were able to recruit permanent settlers. Most of Florida s officials were looking to
save money to keep public services going. The Proclamation of 1763 outlawed settlement west of the
appalachians to the newly acquired Florida. The Britishers partners were the French. The French had
strong desires to develop trade within their new colony and also outsiders around it. Each pioneer
settler was given 100 acres of land and 50 acres per family member, i mean who could complain about
that. Soon after this the British went to war against the British. After the war with France it nearly
bankrupted the British government. The British were so worried about pirate attacks that they had to
call a militia to assure safety. Around 1776 about 7 years before the British rule was over, West Florida
was bigger than East Florida. West Florida had extended to Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana. This was
also a major problem because they had problems increasing migration of the Indians into the region.

because it made the modern day toilet possible. Kay Keating points out that Thomas Crapper also held
nine patents towards the formation of the modern toilet (Keating 1). Many parts and pieces have been
attributed to the invention of the toilet along with many types of decorations that have been added to
the toilet throughout its time of being created as works of art. Writers from
Inventhelp.com state that Sir John Harrington invented a facility (toilet) that had a seat, a bowl, and a

Inventhelp.com also writes that Sir John Harrington invented a very primitive version of the water
closet which was water stored in a compartment used for washing away contaminants(Inventhelp.com

somewhat more of an art for decorating rather than a sanitary device since it was so expensive at the
time(Yadav 1). Decorations of the toilet show that the device itself was highly valued in time period

8,265% + 1,3% = 9,565% We assume that the fixed debt in the Lodging division would have a longer
duration than that in the Restaurants division, hence we used 30 year Gov. bond rate for fixed debt in
Lodging division and 10 year Gov. rate for fixed debt in Restaurants division. For the floating debt,
we considered the 1 year Gov. rate applying to both Lodging and restaurants divisions. Furthermore,
after taking the average of both floating and fixed debt rates for both divisions respectively we added
the premium above Gov. Rate to the result and arrived at the pretax cost of debt. Cost of Equity
Lodging and Restaurant divisions Following the footsteps of the framework used in this analysis

the investments in each division. We ll consider the MRP (Market Risk Premium) of 7.43% based on
the average spread between S P 500 composite returns and long term US Gov.

On December 21, 1879 (Editors, Biography.com) Iosef Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili was born. He
was later known as Joseph Stalin and he was one of the most powerful men in the world during the
19th century. According to Niccolo Machiavelli s views in the book, The Prince, Stalin was the perfect

The Prince) Overall, this compares the traits of a perfect leader to a lion and fox. The fox is
manipulative and the lion is strong, so they help each other out. So, a leader needs to be both
manipulative and strong. Stalin is like a fox because after Vladimir Lenin died, five people became the
new leaders. This included Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, Lev Kamenev, Grigory Zinoviev, and Nikolai
Bukharin. Stalin manipulated all of them by turning them against each other. First, Stalin created a
plan with Kamenev and Zinoviev to remove Leon Trotsky from power. Then Stalin and Bukharin
removed Kamenev and Zinoviev from power. Finally Stalin turned on Bukharin, so Bukharin was no
longer in control. Stalin was now the sole ruler of the Soviet Union. Joseph Stalin was also
intimidating and frightening. For example, many civilians called his era a reign of terror. This made
many of the citizens loyal to him because if they resisted, they would most likely be killed.
Lastly, as a leader, Stalin knew not to be hated but to be feared. After an amazing victory against the

As we know, counterfeit drugs/medicines are not made in the same factories as the original ones. It
may not even be made at a sanitary area and so whatever germs and microbes are present there, may
crawl into the products as well. People who concoct these fake medicines includes all kinds of
chemicals just to make it look like the real thing. Harmful chemical are one thing that should be not in
our medicines. Those chemicals can trigger to allergic reactions and dangerous disease. Treatments
with ineffective counterfeit drugs/medicines such as antibiotic can lead to emergence of resistant
organisms and may have a deleterious effect on a wide section of the population. In extreme cases,
counterfeits drugs/medicines may even cause death. For example, in 2005 Malaysia showed that 8.5
percents impotence medication in the country are fake. While in 2012, the Ministry of Health in
Malaysia advices people do not use the traditional products Mymen Plus(capcules 400mg) after it

consequence of such damaging effects, counterfeit drugs/medicines may erode public confidence in

Montessori Method Of Education
Montessori Method of Education is one of the unique methods of the education which stimulates the
child s natural curiosity to learn. Culture and creativity area an integral part of the Montessori
curriculum. Every area of the Montessori curriculum is interrelated and follows the same foundations.
Each area of curriculum has special purpose of education and helps the child in stimulating their
imaginative powers. Montessori Method strongly believes that imagination is based on the reality
based experiences and creativity is directly related to exposing the children to real life situations. So,
we can say that in order to be more imaginative and creative, child must have real and concrete
experiences with the real objects.
According to Maria Montessori, The true basis of the imagination is reality, and its perception is
related to exactness of observation. It is necessary to prepare children to perceive the things in their
environment exactly, in order to secure for them the material required by the imagination. Intelligence,
reasoning, and distinguishing one thing from another prepares a cement for imaginative constructions
1 (The advanced Montessori method.p.196)
Montessori Method of Education believes that every child is different and has his own needs. So every
child is allowed to learn in his own unique manner at his own pace. Every aspect of the Montessori
curriculum starting from the Practical life to the Culture area is closely intrigued with each other

Why Is The Screw Sane Or Insane
Sane or Insane?
By Alex Gimenez
Sane or Insane? That is the question, and only the author Henry James knew the answer. There has
been a lot of speculation about The Turn of the Screw, and what makes it so interesting is that Henry
James never tells the reader if the ghosts are real or if the governess is sane or insane. That leaves the
interpretation of the governess mental state up to the reader. The governess is the one that tells most of
the story, and in my opinion, she proves herself to be very unreliable and, therefore, insane. The
reasons why I think the governess was insane are as follows. First, the governess is the only one in the
story who admits to seeing the ghosts. Second, the governess seemed to become very suspicious ...

The governess immediately questions what he could have done wrong to get himself expelled. Mrs.
Grose defends Miles, and when the governess finally meets him the governess is taken by his looks
and charm, and thinks she was crazy to think that he could have done anything wrong. Then, as she
becomes more suspicious and paranoid, one night Flora sneaks out of bed and is staring out the
window at someone outside. The governess thinks she is staring at the ghost of Miss Jessel, but it is
really Miles. This makes the governess even more convinced that something fishy is going on with
Miles, Flora, and the ghosts. From here on out, things quickly get worse and there is a lot of tension
between the governess and Miles. Then, Flora disappears one day, and is found at the lake where the
governess first saw Miss Jessel. After Flora is found, the governess loses it and wants to know where
Miss Jessel is, and the ghost appears, but only to the governess. Flora and Mrs. Grose deny seeing

Revision Narrative
Revision Narrative
One of the biggest change I made was changing the narrator of the story. I decided to change it to a
third person narrator to give myself more flexibility in terms of description because I felt like the first
person narrator limited what I was able to describe. However, writing in the third person also proved
to be challenging. The different POV changed the tone and voice of the story. Plus I couldn t decide on
which girl was the main protagonist of the story. As I delved into both girls mind through third person
narrative they both became more interesting, and it was harder for me to decide on one main character.
Now the subject of the story keep shifting between both girls.

Communication In Nursing
Every day I encounter various situations that put my values and beliefs at risk. Reflecting on my
experiences, is a journey I take to restoration while living in my truth. The scenario I recount in this
reflection is a life lesson that has helped me personally and professionally.
Topic and description of the scenario
Communication is arguably the most important skill I will use over the course of my future nursing
career. It is not enough to critically evaluate a disease process, but the psyche of the patient and family
must be considered regularly. To adequately assess any situation and ensure a more positive
experience, effective communication lines must be established.
On the first day of my pediatric clinical rotation, I was assigned to an eighteen day old newborn girl
(J.L.) diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) contracted during her hospital stay. Due to
her condition, she had been moved to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to decrease the spread
of infection to healthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This scenario provides an example for most of my values, but communication is the most apparent. As
a professional, I will be called on to communicate with my patients, their families, and inter
professionally. Knowing most of my values presently and as a future nurse rely on my ability to
effectively communicate, I attempt to refine my skills with each opportunity. As a witness to this
issue, it is my belief that quality communication and empathy are not practiced by all health care
professionals. Regardless of this experience, I continue to believe my values are directly linked to
better patient outcome. I am no longer jaded and know that despite the length of time in practice and
experience there will be short comings. Unfortunately, patient centered and family care are the most

Catch Em All Ethics
Business ethics is referred to implementing ethical standards and moral principles to the actions taken
by humans during any exchange process. Although all companies have ethical standards that must be

such as not respecting confidentiality agreements and avoiding legal liability. Furthermore, prior to
beginning digital data collection, the ethics checklist must be followed in order to ensure the safety of

the subject been exposed to unreasonable stress or risk without his or her knowledge (Hair, Celsi,

The Birth Mark By Nathaniel Hawthorne
The Birth Mark was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the story follows of a scientist who is named
Aylmer, and the scientist retires in the field of science for the search of marriage and love. When
Aylmer finds a suitable wife that he would fancy for himself, the scientist notices that his wife had a
birthmark on her face that represented a tiny hand print. This birthmark actually makes Aylmer
becomes obsessive about the mark itself to the point of confronting Aylmer s wife. Aylmer eventually
convinces the woman about experimentation towards her face and the experiment works but the wife
had succumbed towards a fatal side effect which was death. Ending the story with a dreadful lesson, If
you love your own, then you will accept their facial flaws and birthmarks with no pain or regret for
they are everything to you even in death The story itself was actually a realistic setting in the time that
the main protagonist was in. Since the story could not pick a time, it actually gave the reader a form of
date. It was a time from last century seeing how the scientist was now learning facial cream and
dermatology against the form of birthmark. It struck me not only accord but actually offended that the
husband was that much concern over a tiny speck which was the wife s birthmark. The constant theme
that was placed underlining of the protagonist was the foolishness of striving for perfection. An
example is shown by the protagonist s desire to get rid of the wife s birthmark in

Parenting In American Society
Do you think or believe American society provides too much or too little quality education on the role
of parenting and how that shapes our children and generations to come?
What do you suggest as a way to resolve this issue?
I believe American society does not provide enough quality education on the nature of parenting and
the impact of development of our children and the generations ahead. In today s world we face the
challenges of being judged by the aspect of our chosen parenting style. Though we (parents) all have
our own boundaries, standards, and beliefs to the ways of how we parent, society has us in a

client, Train Monitoring System (TMS). The objectives of the contract were: The Role of the Contract
First, the contract states scope of the services delivered by consulting company and the terms and
conditions in agreement in order to avoid any types of misunderstanding (Swaab, 2014). Second, the
contract can put restrictions on the behaviors of both parties as it is legally enforceable. Third, the
contract defines the rights, limits and obligations for both parties and these can be used as evidence in

of details. The presentation and workshop were omitted. The current section also omitted acceptance
criteria, which is essential to define breach and poor performance and to provide evidence for
withholding of payment, even penalty. Recommendations are:
To specify the title, contents, pages, format, due date and price for report, presentation and workshop.
To clearly identify the acceptance criteria regarding quality and time of deliverables.
To describe when breaching, withholding payment and penalty will be applied.
Client Inputs
Client input is to help clients to understand the requirement for consultancy to complete the work. The
current client inputs were neither specific nor sufficient for conducting the project. Recommendations

Loyalty During Ww2
Because co operation is essential to work. We must be loyal to society in order to have a form of
progress. For example, people in ancient civilizations heavily relied on one another for specific tasks
such as hunting, farming, and building homes. Whichever task you specialized in, it was impossible to
do multiple ones and be independent. Thus, every person did their part to pitch in for chores and
benefit everyone. This process can be easily trusted because this turned out to be very successful for
their communities, but, there had to be loyalty and trust for it to work. Without loyalty, cooperation,
and steady progress would never be achieved. Another point in history we see an example of loyalty
being broken and the consequences World War Two. Japan and the United States had a peace
negotiation and Japan had failed to end the negotiation before launching the attack and catching
Hawaii by surprise. This caused outrage throughout the U.S and killed over 2,000 Americans. This

Jonas and Giver have truly escaped the physical boundaries of their society. Even though the writer of
The Giver seems to make an effort to eliminate the gender stereotypes in the culture by supporting the
idea that everyone is equal, in the end it did not work. As he movie develops, Jonas is able to avoid the
drugs and his senses becomes more vivid and so does his moral judgment. One controversial topic that
is brought up by metaphors and imagery is the practice of Euthanasia. The practice is obvious in both
the elderly citizens and unhealthy newborns. Jonas is horrified as he learns about this. Jonas ultimate
reason to escape and save the society becomes clear when he becomes attached to Gabriel, a newborn
whose life is on the line. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, To be yourself in a world that is constantly
trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment . Jonas perspective of the world was
so much differed than the others around him, and in the end, he did not allow the conformity lose his
individualism. This movie also portrays a classical view of the utilitarianism theory. At first glance the
Principle of Utility does not seem to be a radical idea: in reality, it may seem too obvious to mention.

Both hedge funds and index funds stem from the idea of an independent mutual fund, but their
potential to succeed is dependent upon the economy performing well. The success of all investments,
whether a bull or bear market, are significantly driven by the performance of the overall economy.
Economics explains how people interact within markets to gain what they want or to accomplish their
goals. The market usually either has falling prices, which means a bear market and when flourishing
this is referred to as the bull market. The United States is a market economy, which means the
financial decisions and the pricing of goods and services are guided primarily by the aggregate
interactions of a country s citizens and businesses. In other words, market economies have little
government intervention or central planning (Investopedia). In addition to the performance of the
overall market, the returns for individuals are impacted by a company s management team. The
managers of investment funds either invest or trade investment instruments for the fund. Investing and
trading are two different strategies to achieve investment returns. The goal of investing is to gradually
build wealth over an extended period of time through the buying and holding of a portfolio of stocks,

America s Victory Dbq
In analyzing the American Revolution, one could see that America s victory could be summed up in
three main parts, political, diplomatic, and military reasons. To start, the victory of the United States
had many political reasons, such as Thomas Paine s pamplet Common Sense that had not only been
one of the most influential pamplets ever written but had also called for a republic. This idea had
given America the push they needed into fighting for their independence. Another political reason had
been the Declaration of Independence in 1773 for it had, like with Common Sense , pushed Americans
for independence. One more political reason for the U.S. victory in the Revolutionary War would be
George Washington himself. Yes, he had lost more battles than he won but with his amazing sense of
justice, leadership, patience and especially being a man of wealth from Virginia, Washington had

from France had been essential in the United States victory in the war overall with battles following
Saratoga. To continue with the previous statement, the official formation of French American alliance

The Use Of Symbolism In Paul s Case By Willa Cather
One of the finest forms of writing is the use of symbolism. This representation allows readers to
signify an object, person, situation or word with a feeling or idea. Symbolism is an illustration of
speech that is used when an author wants to form a certain mood or emotion. Readers find stories
easier to associate with when there is a symbol in which is relatable and a multiple uses of conflict for
attention grabbers. An example of symbolic imagery could be a bald eagle that represents freedom to
the United States. In literature, an author utilizes figures of speech, like metaphors and allegory to
explain the symbols being used.
In her story Paul s Case, Willa Cather provides a short story full of lies and defeat. The story takes
place firstly in Pittsburgh and later to New York, where a young man named Paul goes through life
feeling hopeless and fragile. Cather begins the story with Paul meeting his teachers in the principles
office while wearing a red carnation. To the teachers, the red carnation was not properly significant of
the contrite spirit befitting a boy under the ban of suspension (90). Through this initial statement,
analysis can be extended to include the story s frequent references to other flowers, which also
symbolize Paul s desires and mirror his disconnection from the world (Crabtree). Cather s tone
throughout the story is dry, factual, and a bit awkward. However, the frequency of the awkward tone
engulfs the reader and mandates constant attention

Lolita In Tehran
Freedom is anyone s opportunity to make decisions. Therefore, freedom should be demanded. Nothing
you ask for is just distributed to you. Freedom was not voluntarily given up to people. You have to
endeavor everything in life. You, yourself, may not have worked for freedom, but someone did.
Everything came about with a price, whether it was small or large. Freedom is something that should
be demanded because there is a struggle for everything you want in life. You never get handed
anything in life. There is a catch to everything, therefore nothing comes without a price. Many people
can ask for things but that does not mean they will receive what was requested. Some may favor the
outcome while others may not favor the outcome. Freedom should be based character. In Lolita in

Alabama, little black boys and little black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and

applies to all types of races, black and white being an example. Rosa Parks fought for her freedom to
sit wherever she pleased on the bus. Ahdaf Soueif fought for her freedom from Hosni Mubarak s long
ruling regime. In Cairo My City, Our Revolution , Soueif recalls the 3rd day of mass protests in Cairo,
Egypt. Soueif and her nieces, Salma and Mariam, were fleeing the protest but decided to help the

Rinda, please read the next paragraph for us, stated Mrs. Wright. Feeling my ears and face turn stop

what I thought about the paragraph after I finished reading it. I told her and the whole class, I don t

Yes, they would poke fun at me if I misspelled words or wrote about my love life. That alone was
reason to write a somewhat well organized letter. The day Mr. Peters read a letter written to me, aloud,
was the day I realized how important it is to make sure what I write conveys the accurate message. He
read, I want to have you come for a long time and maybe dinner. How about meeting at the fair around
6pm? My friend and I died. Everyone had fun with that letter for several months. I believe that event
impacted both of our writing skills and revealed how important it is to make sure the message you
want to convey is being interpreted the way it is intended. I managed to get through grammar school
with the basic necessities required to graduate. I was not one of those kids that had interactive parents
that read to me as a child and I was not pressed to go to college. I joined the workforce right after high
school. I had a very strong work ethic and knew that I had to work very hard to climb the latter in
order to gain financial stability. Within that hard work was the ability to communicate with my
superiors and my subordinates. It wasn t until I received an email from one of my co workers that was
addressed to several employees within the department that I committed to re reading everything and
carefully articulating what I said out loud. It went something like this, In oder to get the pasient the

Social Polarization in Latin America and the Carribean
Introduction
Social polarisation is the widening gap within a given society that emerges from income disparities
within individuals causing various social groups, from high income to low income. It entails the
expansion of jobs that require low skills while at the same time, jobs that require higher professionals
and expertise still experience growth. There is a rising concern on issues of social polarisation and
cohesion that stem from the observation that in many countries, societies maybe separating out into
different groups. That concern is quite relevant in the Carribean and in Latin America, a region that

Rents have also gone up, and those residents who cannot keep up with the high rates move out of the
favelas. The current socioeconomic disparities in Brazil, that of wide income levels between the rich
and the poor, encourages the rapid growth of favelas. For instance, in Rio de Janeiro, political
prisoners who have a good educational background remain in prison with drug dealers permitting
them to create a criminal network that has excellent organizational structures. The syndicate that
results, Commando Vermehlo, cunningly plans to expand social programs in the favelas using the
proceeds of cocaine sales. By helping many of the poor favela residents, they gain a lot of support,
which makes it challenging for the police subject the culprits to legal prosecution. Due to a rise in
arrests by the police, the Commando Vermehlo came to a standstill and the favelas remained under the
control of different drug dealers. Income disparities among residents living in favelas also encourage
the trade of drugs since it is more profitable than honest labor. The rich also fuel conflicts in favelas by
purchasing drugs and failing to push for changes that could improve the living standards in the
favelas.
What is the pacification project ? Why is the Brazilian government doing this? (4 points)

The Definition Of Piety In Plato s Euthyphro
In this essay I will discuss Plato s Euthyphro. I will discuss the dialogue that happens between the
characters in the text. In the text both characters struggle to come to an agreement as to what the
definition of piety is. I will give a few examples of the definitions Euthyphro offers Socrates. Socrates
rejected some of Euthyphro s definitions for piety. I will explain why Socrates rejected some of the
definitions. I will analyze Socrates understanding of morality based upon his conversation with
Euthyphro. I will decide whether or not his theory is subjective or objective. I will also determine
what the foundation of morality in his theory is.
The Euthyphro begins with Euthyphro and Socrates. There is a dialogue between the two of them. ...

Socrates ask what is the pious (Socrates 5). Euthyphro offers his first definition of piety. He basically
says that what he is doing is pious. It is pious to prosecute the wrong doers and it is impious not to.
Socrates rejects his definition by saying that the definition that Euthyphro offered is an example rather
than a definition. Euthyphro then offers his second definition of piety. Euthyphro then states What is
dear to the Gods is pious, what is not dear to the Gods is impious ( Euthyphro 6). Socrates rejects this
definition by basically saying that all the Gods won t approve of what is pious and impious. Euthyphro
offers the next definition which basically says that if all of the Gods think it is pious then it is pious
and all of Gods don t think it is pious then it is impious. Socrates rejects this idea by basically saying
that it can not be a definition because it still does not give an essence of what piety is. sEuthyphro
offers many more definitions of what piety could be. Socrates and Euthyphro can not come to an
agreement as to what the definition of piety is. In the end of the dialogue Euthyphro has an angrier
tone of voice. You can conclude that he was starting to get annoyed with Socrates constant questions.
He then tells Socrates that he is in a rush and he has to leave. The dialogue ends with no true
definition of what piety

Essay about Biblical Imagery in the Story of Rapunzel
Biblical Imagery in the Story of Rapunzel
Ostensibly, the story of Rapunzel is the tale of a young girl, locked up in a tower by a wicked witch,
the real concern of the story, however, being lust and the dangers it represents to girls as they enter the
rites of passage of puberty. Symbolism pervades the story of Rapunzel , as in all fairy tales, giving rise
to diverse interpretations. While a great deal of the symbolism is commonly found in fairy tales, the
Grimm s infuse the tale of Rapunzel with much from the biblical stories with which their audience
would most likely be familiar. In the final version of Rapunzel, the Grimms add a moral message,
based primarily on stories taken from the Bible, in order to demonstrate the ... Show more content on

Within the collection of stories as a whole, the brothers took pains to delete every phrase unsuitable
for children...hoping that their collection could serve as a manual of manners (Tatar 19). Most
significantly, the Grimms eliminated erotic and sexual elements...added numerous Christian
expressions and references, [and] emphasized specific role models for male and female protagonists
according to the dominant patriarchal code of that time (Zipes, Dreams 74).
Rapunzel itself is the classic story of a mother s attempt to protect her young daughter from the
dangers she must face in order to successfully navigate the rites of passage of puberty. The Grimms
version of Rapunzel also presents a strong moral message to young women in order to maintain the
patriarchal nature and moral code of 19th century Germany. The question which most Grimms tales
ask is: how can one learn what must one do to use one s powers rightly in order to be accepted in
society or recreate society in keeping with the norms of the status quo? (Zipes, Fairy 57). The Grimms
story of Rapunzel is no different, answering this question by looking to, among other sources, the
Bible.
Many biblical references pervade the story of Rapunzel, beginning with a man and wife [who] long
wished in vain for a child (Hallett 67). Anyone familiar

The Way Of Self Regulation
The way self regulation occurs will change over time based off of what culture the child lives in. For
instance, crying is an acceptable form of self regulation for a baby, but not for a teenager so the
teenager must find another way to self regulate when a challenge pops up (neurons to neighborhoods).
A part of self regulation (which falls under the emotional part of self regulation) that is very important
for infants to develop is effortful control, or how well the infant can prevent impulses, cope with
negative emotions, and behave in a way that is socially acceptable (Berk). It also predicts conscience,
empathy, guilt, and low aggression, and gives children the ability to do something else when they are
affected negatively so they aren t overwhelmed. Low effortful control is a consistent predictor of
externalizing problems (temperament and personality, Rothbart). Infants show that they are beginning
to obtain emotional self regulation around 12 18 months (Berk). With this evidence it is very obvious
that self regulation is an important part of development. If a child isn t able to learn how to self
regulate, he/she would not be able to learn important motor abilities, or have the capacity to deal
properly with emotions. The best way children learn how to self regulate is by watching, interacting,
and learning from others. This, and other things, are what determine that relationships with others are
essential for healthy development. Early relationships are different

  • 2. The Aesthetic Of Ruins On The Beauty Of Abandoned... The aesthetic of ruins can help us understand aspects of interior design in terms of the lack of human presence indicating elements we might otherwise ignore. To explore this theme, I will examine how theorists have thought about the aesthetic of abandonment in relation to the beauty of abandoned structures, beginning with the work of Gordon Matta Clark, in leading us to rethink our lived in environment apart from just its visual aspect. Gay Watson introduces the idea of emptiness as a therapeutic perspective and following this I discuss the origins of beauty in impermanence, non selfhood and emptiness. I also analysis beauty existing in ruined buildings that reveals the relationship between space and human beings, supported by the work of Henri Lefebvre. In order to link the use of abandonment and aesthetic beauty, the background to Gordon Matta Clark will be briefly outlined. Known for his site specific building cuts made in the 1970s, Matta Clark draws our attention to the fact that we are usually too busy to notice the other significances of our living space besides its domestic function. Apart from its interior equipment, we care little about a building s character, which may lack functionality or an attractive aesthetic. Matta Clark s works usually focus on the abandoned building from which he removes sections of ceilings, floors, and walls, as a part of so called Anarchitecture . He spent several years studying French literature in Paris in 1968, the source of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. This Political Study Will Define The Reemergence Of... This political study will define the reemergence of nationalism due to the failed economic policies of globalization in the Brexit EU Vote. The Brexit Vote defines the lack of economic security promised by the European Union, which had dominated much of Britain s global objectives in the world economy. However, the problematic banking issues of the European Central bank (ECB) and the bankruptcy of certain nation states, such as Ireland, Greece, and Portugal, have inspired a new nationalist movement in England to leave the EU. The Brexit Vote, held on June 23rd, 2016, defined a powerful collective process in which 51.9% of the votes decided to lave the EU. This decision was primarily based on reclaiming British nationalism to regain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These political trends reveal the underlying trend in nationalism as part of the growing problem of economic inequality, which was devastating the British economy for the greater masses of working people. The lack of resolution for the economic recession brought about a public reaction to policies related to nationalistic objectives, which were dominated by populist sentiment: At a time when so many Europeans are faced with unemployment, uncertainty and growing inequality (200). Certainly, the vote for Brexit defines the underlying re reemergence of nationalism as a political option in the opposition of failed EU economic policies. The Brexit Vote also defined a complex new set of nationalist principles, which were based on the turning back the clock of racial identity in the pre EU global order. For instance, the re emergence of nationalism was also being defined by a the Anglo Saxon purity of cultural and racial traditions, which undermined the tensions behind the Brexit Vote. In this manner, the perception of job losses in England also exacerbated racial tensions in relation to the immigration crisis across Europe. Many British citizens felt that a lack of regulatory process in EU immigration policy threatened their job security due to the lower wages being paid for immigrant worker: But others suggest it was really a cultural divide that was revealed, rather than an economic one. • 4. Modern Day Commercial Firms Have A System Of Computer... Background to the Study Many modern day commercial firms have a system of computer based network to track the activities of their employees at the workplace. Employers can track the emailing and browsing history alongside any other activity carried out by an employee using computers even if they clear the history (Reynolds, 2011). Companies are on the run to come up with strict policies to track the use of the computers among employees. Some firms argue that computer based monitoring is important although it is quite expensive to install and maintain (Hugl, 2013). The fact that the internet is becoming one of the major business components, it has become critical for firms to monitor how employees use it. Research indicates that a larger percentage of employers monitor how their employees use the internet while at work. Over the last one decade, the percentages of employers who have restricted their employees access to the company website have increased significantly. They prefer computer based monitoring arguing that computers can handle a large volume of data. Cangemi (2012) adds CM systems use automated advanced analytics to sift through the large volumes of structured data, such as financial transactions, that comprise a large part of their big data (p. 35). According to them, computer monitoring has become critical to reduce cases of critical information from the company leaking to unwanted third parties (Lyon, 2008). The rise of the internet has brought a chain of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Research Project On The Data Collection Process Manatowa Research Project Report Identify and describe key lessons learned in your data collection process The first potential participant I spoke with on the phone asked me a question, can any staff member volunteer to participate or do they have to be a licensed social worker ? A very valid question and something I had not anticipated. I did not know how to answer her at first. That fact was not part of my research design. As explained by the University of Oxford Personnel Service UAS (2015) among the standards in research is the practice code of being honest in proposing, conducting and reporting research. Academic research often has class timeline parameters which puts a strain on the academic researcher. The integrity of the researcher in academic research class may be tested by shortcomings as the result of faults in the design phase. The academic research must choose to do the right thing and act in an ethical manner when situations arise such as in the recruitment of participants and modifications during the data collection phase. Research design can eliminate potential pitfalls and challenges during research data collection and interpretation of that data. Spending more time and effort in the design phase will help to eliminate and/or reduce such ethical situations. Crotty (1998) suggested: 1. What epistemology, theory of knowledge, embedded in the theoretical perspective, informs the research (e.g., objectivism, subjectivism, etc.)? 2. What ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

MHPA Research Paper The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, also known as MHPAEA is defined as a federal law that prevents group health plans and health insurance issuers that provide mental health or substance use disorder benefits from imposing less favorable benefit limitations on those benefits than on medical or surgical benefits (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 1). Originally, MHPAEA applied only to group health plans and group health insurance coverage, but was amended by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to also apply to individual health insurance coverage (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 2). Bill really doesn t like to go, he s not the athletic type. Tom does not have a lot of friends and keeps to himself. As bill walks down the stairs to the car he feels a little overwhelmed. Bill has gone to the camp three summers in a row and feels weirded out when he s near the woods. The camp counselors don t like it when kids go to the woods by themselves, apparently kids have disappeared but the counselors don t talk about it too much. The car ride there is long. To get there you have to go far from town. You could see huge trees swaying back and forth as you pass by, it s a little creepy. Bill arrived to the eerie camp, he saw all the kids with their parents trying to check in and get to know the grounds. The car came to a stop and Bill and his mom got out the car. It was a long ride there so it took Bill a minute to stretch out. Bill and his mom walk up to the front desk, there was a young man at the desk looked like he was not in a good mood. The man began to speak Hello and welcome to camp, do you need a room? the man said angrily. Um yes please. Bill s mom said, but Bill zoend out the rest of the conversation. Bill I have to go now, Bill s mom said I love you and please don t get in trouble your room number is 122. Ok mom love you too. Bill said. His mom gave him a kiss on the cheek, gave him his room number and bags and left. Bill walked through the huge camp and looked for his room number. Bill has been at the camp multiply times so it was not hard to find. 122 must be mine room Bill said out loud. The room was not in the best condition, moss was on the outside and the grass was a little dead. Bill walk up slowly to the door and knocked three times, Hello is anyone home. You usually get a room mate. Come in! the other person yelled from inside. Great, Bill was hoping no one would be home. Bill opened the creaking door slowly. Dr.Gachet was a close friend of Vincent s brother Theo. Dr.Gachet was an actual doctor that focused on homeopathic cures. In the article Portrait of Dr.Gachet(July 2006) by Sandra Bertman, it states, Van Gogh felt particular affinity for him on account of their similar bouts with depression and their dependency on their vocation for emotional and intellectual fulfillment (para.3). The British were weak, the only reason they got Florida was because they were teamed with the French. This of course was before the Treaty of Paris. In 1672 the British had captured Havana but the use of it was nothing. Many of the British territories had recruiting programs that were not hard to like. Also when the British were working for good times luck was not there for them. Crops died within the first few months of their new colony. Also more diseases had really hurt the British. Even though the Spain had ruled for a longer period time. The British had one advantage they were able to recruit permanent settlers. Most of Florida s officials were looking to save money to keep public services going. The Proclamation of 1763 outlawed settlement west of the appalachians to the newly acquired Florida. The Britishers partners were the French. The French had strong desires to develop trade within their new colony and also outsiders around it. Each pioneer settler was given 100 acres of land and 50 acres per family member, i mean who could complain about that. Soon after this the British went to war against the British. After the war with France it nearly bankrupted the British government. The British were so worried about pirate attacks that they had to call a militia to assure safety. Around 1776 about 7 years before the British rule was over, West Florida was bigger than East Florida. West Florida had extended to Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana. The valve and siphon is such a great importance because it made the modern day toilet possible. Many parts and pieces have been attributed to the invention of the toilet along with many types of decorations that have been added to the toilet throughout its time of being created as works of art. Writers from Inventhelp.com state that Sir John Harrington invented a facility (toilet) that had a seat, a bowl, and a cistern (Inventhelp.com 1). This shows an importance of early contributors striving to create a toilet. Inventhelp.com also writes that Sir John Harrington invented a very primitive version of the water closet which was water stored in a compartment used for washing away contaminants(Inventhelp.com 1). During the time of Sir John Harrington and a short while before Thomas Crapper, the toilet was somewhat more of an art for decorating rather than a sanitary device since it was so expensive at the time(Yadav 1). Decade of Corporate Greed Decade of Corporate Greed Dale Schroll University of Phoenix Axia College As Ronald Reagan Ascended in the 1980 s he reinvented Republican policies that favored deregulation and the growth of business in America. These Ideas markedly opposed the views of the governmental interventionist policies of the 1960 s and 70 s with these ideas Reagan hoped to decrease government Involvement and heavy taxes. With these tax cuts Reagan s thinking was that many new businesses would spawn and that it would have a trickledown effect by not only empowering businesses to grow and hire more people which in the end would benefit all from those on top in the corporate world all the way down to the lowest person in the company in which ... With this came more negativity that came with the corporate greed of the 80 s.For these people who became homeless and poor due to these millionaires greed were blamed for dragging down the economy by Republican politicians and their mouthpieces in the media, while the truth we found out later is that indeed it was these rich people who were ripping us off and actually were responsible for dragging down the economy. Going as far to blaming the poor the city of Los Angeles installed a fingerprint system to guard against welfare fraud that cost the city and hardworking tax payers 30 million dollars, and for all of this it caught one cheater. • 38. America s Victory Dbq In analyzing the American Revolution, one could see that America s victory could be summed up in three main parts, political, diplomatic, and military reasons. To start, the victory of the United States had many political reasons, such as Thomas Paine s pamplet Common Sense that had not only been one of the most influential pamplets ever written but had also called for a republic. This idea had given America the push they needed into fighting for their independence. Another political reason had been the Declaration of Independence in 1773 for it had, like with Common Sense , pushed Americans for independence. One more political reason for the U.S. victory in the Revolutionary War would be George Washington himself. Yes, he had lost more battles than he won but with his amazing sense of justice, leadership, patience and especially being a man of wealth from Virginia, Washington had gained back the trust from the colonists to their government. ... America, at the time, had already been suffering from debt and did not have enough gold to back up the less important paper money. To continue with the previous statement, the official formation of French American alliance in 1778 that had offered the colonists everything Britain was asking for but with freedom. • 39. The Use Of Symbolism In Paul s Case By Willa Cather One of the finest forms of writing is the use of symbolism. This representation allows readers to signify an object, person, situation or word with a feeling or idea. Symbolism is an illustration of speech that is used when an author wants to form a certain mood or emotion. Readers find stories easier to associate with when there is a symbol in which is relatable and a multiple uses of conflict for attention grabbers. An example of symbolic imagery could be a bald eagle that represents freedom to the United States. In literature, an author utilizes figures of speech, like metaphors and allegory to explain the symbols being used. In her story Paul s Case, Willa Cather provides a short story full of lies and defeat. The story takes place firstly in Pittsburgh and later to New York, where a young man named Paul goes through life feeling hopeless and fragile. Cather begins the story with Paul meeting his teachers in the principles office while wearing a red carnation. To the teachers, the red carnation was not properly significant of the contrite spirit befitting a boy under the ban of suspension (90). Through this initial statement, analysis can be extended to include the story s frequent references to other flowers, which also symbolize Paul s desires and mirror his disconnection from the world (Crabtree). Cather s tone throughout the story is dry, factual, and a bit awkward. However, the frequency of the awkward tone engulfs the reader and mandates constant attention ... The current socioeconomic disparities in Brazil, that of wide income levels between the rich and the poor, encourages the rapid growth of favelas. For instance, in Rio de Janeiro, political prisoners who have a good educational background remain in prison with drug dealers permitting them to create a criminal network that has excellent organizational structures. The syndicate that results, Commando Vermehlo, cunningly plans to expand social programs in the favelas using the proceeds of cocaine sales. By helping many of the poor favela residents, they gain a lot of support, which makes it challenging for the police subject the culprits to legal prosecution. Due to a rise in arrests by the police, the Commando Vermehlo came to a standstill and the favelas remained under the control of different drug dealers. Income disparities among residents living in favelas also encourage the trade of drugs since it is more profitable than honest labor. In the text both characters struggle to come to an agreement as to what the definition of piety is. I will give a few examples of the definitions Euthyphro offers Socrates. Socrates rejected some of Euthyphro s definitions for piety. I will explain why Socrates rejected some of the definitions. I will analyze Socrates understanding of morality based upon his conversation with Euthyphro. I will decide whether or not his theory is subjective or objective. I will also determine what the foundation of morality in his theory is. The Euthyphro begins with Euthyphro and Socrates. There is a dialogue between the two of them. ... It is pious to prosecute the wrong doers and it is impious not to. Socrates rejects his definition by saying that the definition that Euthyphro offered is an example rather than a definition. Euthyphro then offers his second definition of piety. Euthyphro then states What is dear to the Gods is pious, what is not dear to the Gods is impious ( Euthyphro 6). Socrates rejects this definition by basically saying that all the Gods won t approve of what is pious and impious. Euthyphro offers the next definition which basically says that if all of the Gods think it is pious then it is pious and all of Gods don t think it is pious then it is impious. Socrates rejects this idea by basically saying that it can not be a definition because it still does not give an essence of what piety is. sEuthyphro offers many more definitions of what piety could be. Socrates and Euthyphro can not come to an agreement as to what the definition of piety is. In the end of the dialogue Euthyphro has an angrier tone of voice. Symbolism pervades the story of Rapunzel , as in all fairy tales, giving rise to diverse interpretations. While a great deal of the symbolism is commonly found in fairy tales, the Grimm s infuse the tale of Rapunzel with much from the biblical stories with which their audience would most likely be familiar. The Grimms version of Rapunzel also presents a strong moral message to young women in order to maintain the patriarchal nature and moral code of 19th century Germany. • 48. The Way Of Self Regulation The way self regulation occurs will change over time based off of what culture the child lives in. For instance, crying is an acceptable form of self regulation for a baby, but not for a teenager so the teenager must find another way to self regulate when a challenge pops up (neurons to neighborhoods). A part of self regulation (which falls under the emotional part of self regulation) that is very important for infants to develop is effortful control, or how well the infant can prevent impulses, cope with negative emotions, and behave in a way that is socially acceptable (Berk). It also predicts conscience, empathy, guilt, and low aggression, and gives children the ability to do something else when they are affected negatively so they aren t overwhelmed. Low effortful control is a consistent predictor of externalizing problems (temperament and personality, Rothbart). Infants show that they are beginning to obtain emotional self regulation around 12 18 months (Berk). With this evidence it is very obvious that self regulation is an important part of development. If a child isn t able to learn how to self regulate, he/she would not be able to learn important motor abilities, or have the capacity to deal properly with emotions. The best way children learn how to self regulate is by watching, interacting, and learning from others. This, and other things, are what determine that relationships with others are essential for healthy development. Early relationships are different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
