Inorganic Chemicals Cause Water Pollution
Inorganic chemicals is one of most important causes to water pollutants. These inorganic pollutants
naturally found in environment but due to human develepment activities, these pollutant amount has
been increasing rapidly and released into water bodies. The most common inorganic pollutants from
water are ammonium, phosphorus, arsenic, cadmiun, zinc, lead etc. It is highly toxic to human and
environment (Choi et al., 2011). The inorganic pollutant such as ammonia and phosphorus promote
eutrophication, which excessive amounts of these inorganic pollutant releasing into the water can
accelerate this phenomena in a few years (Donald M et al., 2002). The overgrowth of plants and
subsequent death have been created green layer on the surface of water bodies. These layer can be
blocked the penetration of light and oxidation process into the water bodies. Thus, depletion of
dissolved oxygen can be occurred in the water and affected aquatic life. The death and decay of
aquatic life contribute unpleasant smells and increasing the turbidity of water bodies (Conley et al.,
2009). In additional, the heavy metal such as arsenic can causes skin, lung, bladder, and kidney cancer
as well as pigmentation changes, skin thickening (hyperkeratosis) neurological disorders, muscular
weakness, loss of appetite, and nausea (Mohan and Pittman, 2007). The long term exposure to
cadmium causes various types of acute and chronic disorders like pulmonary odema, erythrocyte
destruction, skeletal

The History And Social Impact Of The Circus Freak Show
The History and Social Impact of the Circus Freak Show Since it s humble beginning in the mid 16th
century, the circus and freak show act has been entertaining and horrifying people to this day;
however, in today s ultra sensitive society, how has the classic freak show evolved to be deemed
acceptable and be used to promote acceptance and positive views of people with abnormalities, rather
than viewing these people as freaks , as was the original purpose of the classic freak show ?
Popularized in the mid 16th century, the circus freak show became a common pastime in England.
People with deformities and disabilities began being treated less as humans, and more as sources of
interest and entrainment, and the crowds would gather to see these people exhibited. A notable early
display was that of conjoined twins Lazarus and Johannes Baptista Colloredo. As described by History
Magazine, Lazarus was thought to be quite handsome, appearing otherwise perfectly healthy, but for
his conjoined twin brother. Joannes Baptista protruded, upside down, from his brother s chest. He was
significantly smaller than Lazarus, and only his upper body and left leg visibly extended from his
brother s torso (Strange and Bizarre:). Based off this description it is no wonder why the brothers
became a popular exhibition at the court of King Charles I. Though the freak show was initially a
display for the upper class, it would not take long for people to see the profitability of these acts.

French Horn Research Paper
The French horn made its first appearance in the seventeenth century in France.
Originally, people used the horns of animals before they started using metal. The French horn started
out as a hunting horn. Its almost human
like sound was used to signal to call to the hounds that were on
a hunt. Later on the horn started to be more in the orchestral setting. Its sound would invoke the idea
of a hunt. Later on, however, the sound of the horn started to represent royalty. As the instrument
developed, it became capable of playing more and more notes and producing melodies. This allowed
for more and more techniques to be developed. The
French horn took a long time to be adopted into mainstream orchestral music. Before it was fully
developed, its valves were not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The French horn has a very unique sound. Sound is initially created by buzzing the lips together.
The shape one s mouth creates while doing this is known as the embouchure. The word
bouche in French translates to mouth. The French horn s mouthpiece is one of the smaller ones out of
the brass instruments, and it is more difficult to produce a sound with. In order to change pitches on
the horn, the player would adjust the tension in their lips. The development of valves also allows for a
large variety of pitches that can be produced. The valves allow the player to add length to the horn.
Before the modern rotary valves came into play, the horn had piston valves, similar to that of a
trumpet. Players can also adjust the pitch of the horn by strategically placing their hand in the bell of
the horn. This makes the size of the bell smaller.
Due to the horn s very distinct sound, orchestral composers utilize it to create special effects.
Further development of the horn has allowed for complete chromatic sound production. Most modern
orchestras have four horn parts. There are exceptions, however. Gustav Holst s

Analysis Of Michelle s Story The Auction Block
When the crate arrived, Michelle knew her precious artwork survived the auction block. Mike had
bought her story how it tore at her soul to sell the pieces. It would be akin to brushing away chunks of
her life, erasing it as if it never existed, she told him. She didn t lie. It would kill her to sell them. She
d only receive half the proceeds. Besides, Mike, now bent on expunging all memories of their
marriage, expeditiously liquidated their past at fire sale prices. His previous groveling, begging for
counseling, anything to repair their marriage, now gone. Michelle knew he d sell the artwork for a
fraction of its worth. Now, with their arrival, she was set. She d thrive, not rot in the peasant class
where she d been banished. Michelle created her sales plan as she opened the crate. First, contact the
most prestigious auction house to sell the pieces. Next, deposit the money in an over seas account
Mike could never find. Last, leave the stinking hole she called home for twenty years. Screw them.
They don t need her? She didn t need them. She pried open the crate and lifted out a painting. As the
packing peanuts floated to the floor around her in an abstract pattern, Michelle looked stupefied at the
painting. This is the result of her soul baring? A family portrait? She stared at her younger self,
holding Cole, while Michaela and Mackenzie rest their arms on Mike s shoulders. The portrait, along
with similar ones in the crate, chronologically captured her faux life.

State The Research Question That Your Group Is Seeking
State the research question that your group is seeking to answer with this project. (In other words,
based on your analysis of the existing political science literature, what important question do you
believe has yet to be addressed, or has been addressed inadequately?)
Do elected judicial officials have an increasing effect on the incarceration rate in comparison to
appointed judges? Furthermore, do states that hold elections for judicial officials experience a higher
incarceration rate in comparison to those states who appoint judges?
State the hypothesis that your group intends to explore in its research design.

This helped to have more concise data. Also, incarceration rate is measured per 100,000 people, taking
into account the population for each state. The same is true for the violent crime rate, as it also was
measured per 100,000 people. Since both of these variables measured for population, this was another
control variable included in the research. The incarceration rate, crime rate, and population of the states
do not need to be operationalized, as they are already quantitative data. To operationalize whether or
not a state elects or appoints trial judges, we gave each option a specific number. For example, if a
state elects their trial judges, the state was given a one. These states include: Alabama, Arkansas,
California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota,
Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma,
Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West
Virginia, and Wisconsin (30 in total). If the state appoints a judge, the state was given a zero. These
states include: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas,
Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island,
Utah, Vermont, and Wyoming (20 total). This allowed us to operationalize all variables and compare

Essay on America s Endangered Species Act
America s Endangered Species Act
Save the Bald Eagles! Save the whales! Save the Mountain Lions! Such were the environmentalists
rallying cries that brought about the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Although, the first official
endangered species legislation was a 1966 bill that called for saving U.S. wildlife, but lacked the
powers to do so. The Endangered Species Act(ESA) of 1973 set forth the basic rules that apply in the
U.S. today. Two agencies, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service, are
responsible for reviewing the status of species in trouble to see if they warrant listing as either
threatened or endangered. The decision is to be based solely on scientific data rather than social
factors, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By pain, I mean to our consciences or if you will our souls. By adopting the Endangered Species Act,
Americans have adopted a simple value theory, when it comes to dealing with other life forms. This
theory is simply pleasure is good and pain is evil. According to this theory, under the Endangered
Species Act, the extinction of any species that would bring pain to ourselves is to be saved and those
that do not hamper our consciences can be done away with.
This is evident from the modern viewpoint of the caretakers and enforcers of the Endangered Species
Act, the Fish Wildlife Services. According to them the Endangered Species Act of 1973, holds that
endangered and threatened species of animal and plants are of esthetics, ecological, educational,
historical, recreational, and scientific value to the nation and its people (Fish Wildlife Service,1989).
Even advertisements and public educational programs to save endangered species, only point out the
value of certain species to mankind. Nowhere is it said that a species should be preserved for intrinsic
values and its right to exist in the world.
For example, the most famous of the American listed endangered species is the Bald Eagle, our nation
s symbol. The loss of these birds would have been painful to our ego and national pride. By placing
the bird on the Endangered Species Act,

Ethnography
Introduction
Beginning with the early stages of savagery to the complex civilizations in the 21st century, the need
to compete remains an important aspect in the continual evolution of mankind. Competition took
various forms throughout history from the bloody attempts to kill a mammoth in order to provide
nourishment, to the violent battles between two opposing sides taking place on college football fields
every Saturday afternoon. Another form of competition involving severe contact on a scale par with
football is the sport of rugby. My personal history with the sport began in a medium sized island in
Polynesia. I lived and worked in New Zealand during the summer of 1999, between my sophomore
and junior year. This little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From my research I discovered three conflicting themes, and my theory behind these themes is based
upon structural analysis. This ethnography will also reveal some of the methodological questions
discussed in class, specifically, replicability, critical dialogue, reflexivity, and globalization.
Interestingly, I found a way to connect three out of the four methodological issues to the conflicting
themes gathered in my research. For example, critical dialogue links to the contradiction between
playfulness and competiveness, reflexivity to upper and lower classes, and globalization to
Englishness and Americaness. My point of departure, however, will begin with a basic introduction to
the history and rules of rugby. This will enable my non rugby playing readers (i.e. Joel, William,
Bashira, etc.) to gain general background knowledge on the sport before they become acquainted with
the Occidental rugby culture.
Rugby s Tale
Legend has it that a young English boy picked up a soccer ball during a match at Rugby School.
Picking up the ball is a clear violation in soccer unless the player is the goalie; but the illegality proved
popular and led to the sport of rugby. In 1846, the school later published the rules of rugby. England,
Scotland, and Whales picked the game up quickly and developed leagues for the new sport. The
spread of rugby to outside the island

The World Will End in 2010 According to the Mayan Calendar...
There has been many predictions about when the world will end or how it would end but no one
believes it and no one knew whether they true or not. This time is true and you have to believe it. Now
there are more and more information to support Mayans prediction. According to the Mayan s
calculation the longest calender only goes up to December 21,2009. It takes a long time in order for a
calendar to go through one cycle. The longest cycle takes 26,000 years and the shortest cycle takes
5,000 years. Now our cycle is about to end, and once this cycle is complete everything will start over
again.
You have to believe it. The Mayan that lived a long time ago in Central American that had predicted
the cycle of calendar will end at 2012. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Mayans said That this could be a beautiful passage or something difficult, depending on how
humanity handles it. Either way, the result is a brand new path for humanity for the better.
You have to believe it. According facts on clf.org, earth is changing in may different ways. The
temperature is increasing 1.3 degrees whenever a changing or a damaging occurs. The storms such as
flood are becoming more frequent. The oceans are rising frequently too. The scientist project that the
ocean level will rise 4.5 feet before the end of the world. The heat waves are increasing every day, we
might experienced about 30 days with above 100 degrees. Now our snow season is also decreasing.
Also the plant and animal populations are moving toward the north. Now you have to believe it, there
is more evidence and fact to support the prediction of Mayans.
Many scientists also agree to this prediction because on December 21, 2012, the earth and sun will
lineup with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. That s something that only happens about once every
25,000 years. Scientists predict when the earth and sun lineup with the center of the Milky Way
Galaxy might cause a global catastrophe as the world shifts, and the North and South poles end up on
the equator. As global catastrophe occur, it will be causing earthquakes, flooding, storms, and volcanic
action that we have never seen before. Now you have to believe the

Another way dystopia is reveled in the novel is through the actions of John. When he is brought back
to London, he does not understand how and why the people live that way. The author makes it seem as
if the people have no feel for what freedom is, it is almost as if they are slaves, trained and
conditioned to do what they are supposed to do. In an attempt to get the people to believe and rebel
against the civilized world, John throws the soma out the window. Soma is a pill that is given to the
workers to take them to a soma holiday, a place where one is always happy and can not be bothered by
the outside world. After throwing the soma out the window, John and Bernard are taken to Mustapha
Mond s office, a controller of London. John and the Mustapha Mond get into a discussion about what
makes London so great. On page 263 Mustapha Mond says, [the people are] ignorant of passion and
old age. He is wondering what more anyone could one want besides never getting old or fat and never
having to worry about all the heartaches of passion. The final way the characters show dystopia is
through their speech. Mustapha Mond says, [the people are] plagued with no mothers or fathers . . . or

The Penitent Magdalene Analysis
Artemisia Gentileschi is unarguably a key player in the acceptance of women artists in a previously
male dominated field. She was the first female member of the Academia del Disegno also known as
the Academy of Design. This was a high honor for a woman of her day. Overcoming many hardships
in her relationships, and even drawing inspiration from them, she became known for the excellence
and the unique way she portrayed popular subjects in her artwork. Contemporary art critics have taken
notice of her genius and talent in paving roads in an exclusively male field, and for the feminist
perspective she had that was ahead of her time. Artemisia was born on July 8, 1593 to Orazio
Gentileschi and Prudentia Montone. (Bio.com) Prudentia died when Artemisia ... Show more content

Here in Florence she encountered the Tuscan style of painting and completed her work The Penitent
Magdalene in 1620. Her subject, Mary Magdalene, who is portrayed in this painting as a wealthy
woman of Artemisia s time, is a character from the New Testament of the Bible. There is not many
details of her life that are known, but what we do know is that she was a prostitute, who changed her
ways when she met Jesus. This painting is called The Penitent Magdalene, but it could instead be
called The Conversion of Magdalene, because this painting seems to capture the moment she decided
to change her life around. While she was in Florence, Artemisia had many wealthy families
commission her to create artwork for them, and many think that the Medici family commissioned her
for this particular painting. (Koen, Lisa) It is obvious by Magdalene s expensive dress and exposed
shoulders that she is a fallen woman . Her posture also shows her penitence, and the jar of ointment in
the bottom right hand corner is a signature attribute of Magdalene. Artemisia s skill with her medium
is apparent is the rich texture of Magdalen s garment, and in the contrast between her and the
background. There are a few theories as to why Artemisia would choose to depict Mary Magdalene.
Mary Garrard in her book Artemisia Gentileschi Around 1622: The Shaping and Reshaping of an
Artist s Identity (2001) has proposed the following about how Artemisia might have connected with
this particular biblical character:
Both Artemisia and Mary Magdalene were stigmatized as sexually promiscuous in both cases on
trumped up evidence and both had reputations as sinful women ...One can imagine that she might have
identified both with her troubled character s desire to escape the confinement of luxury she found
restrictive, and stifling, and, perhaps, with the Magdalene s yearning to move onto a higher spiritual
plane. (Garrard, Mary

Iron-Sulfur World Hypothesis Essay
There are many hypotheses about the formation of a primitive terrestrial environment. These
hypotheses explain the origin of biomolecules including amino acids, purines, sugars, and many more.
These hypotheses verify the creation of molecules through these various processes.
The Iron Sulfur world hypothesis proposes the idea that Chemoautotrophic organisms were the first
creations on earth and that they get their energy from the oxidative formation of pyrite. Chemotrophs
are organisms that obtain energy by the oxidation of electron donors in their environments. Gunter
Wachtershauser is the german scientist who came up with this idea, received on October 30, 1989.
Gunter suggested that the organism must be an intermediate of carbon, meaning that it is formed by
one reaction and taking part in another, involving carbon. The organism must also be able to acquire
electrons and have an irreversible metabolism.
Carl Woese, Francis Crick and Leslie Orgel, in the 1960s, proposed the idea that the single stranded
proteins, RNA, were solely relied on. This theory is called, the RNA world hypothesis. They believed

Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House
The production of any theatrical performance is an assembly of creativity, interpretation, and
collaboration. Typically, the task of imagining and guiding the integration of all these elements
belongs to the director. One of the toughest tasks of a director is to reinvigorate a socially important
and renowned production while maintaining its original message and composition. Henrik Ibsen s A
Doll House is a socially important realistic play that portrays the gender dynamics that plagued the
nineteenth century and questions the expectations held for women in a household and society. The
play is still incredibly influential because the issues it addresses are still prevalent decades later. The
original play is so accredited and well known that directors face a tough challenge of trying to
reconstruct it in a memorable way. One director, Lee Breuer, attempted to do so in his Mabou Mines
DollHouse production. In agreement with Elinor Fuchs review, through creative directorial decisions
on setting, casting, and music, Breuer uniquely reignited the fire in Ibsen s play without drifting from
the original message. Before discussing the specific stylistic decisions Breuer took to reconstruct and
modernize Ibsen s play, it is important to obtain a clear definition of reconstruction in theater, which is
different from other forms of reconstruction. Generally, reconstruction is the rebuilding of something
that has been broken. However, it would not be fair to say that Ibsen s A Doll

Outline The Role Of The Infantry In The Future
Introduction
1. With the ever changing battle space, the introduction of Adaptive Campaigning and the
reorganisation of the Army under Plan Beersheba, it is worth reflecting upon the role of the infantry
and its relevance to modern and future warfighting, with the increased emphasis on the future of
combined arms operations.
2. This essay aims to outline the role of the infantry in the future of combined arms operations and the
training implications this creates. It may be seen that the role of the infantry as stated is as relevant as
ever; however, with the increase in fighting in complex human, physical and informational terrain it
may be pertinent to revise the challenges as they relate to the training and preparation of the infantry.

Russia And The Russian Economy
The Russian Economy was falling at a substantial rate, many economist saw the fall as a result of
tough sanctions put on the country from many western civilizations due to Russia s actions in the
Ukraine. The global community as a whole cooperated with international leadership from the United
States, and enforced these sanctions to try and strong arm Russia out of Ukraine without having to put
troops on the ground. There has been a recent bump in the Russian Economy, The prices of oil which
makes a large majority of the Russian Economy has been rising steadily as of recent, and the sanctions
put on them from the EU will most likely expire in a couple of months which some see as an opening
the Russian government could not resist taking.
For the next few months we may see a rise in the Russian Economy continue, but many economists
believe this rise will be short lived and should only be seen as a temporary trend. The scholars believe
that the Russian population is steadily decreasing, and Russian businesses are seeing an inefficacy in
their profit. Russian workers are beginning to grow frustrated with the sluggish production coming
from the government. The Russian government is beginning to see that rise in oil prices already begin
to diminish once again as workers in the Russian workers are beginning to go months without pay, and
are beginning to lay down their tools and go on strike in conflict with the way Vladimir Putin has been

Misrepresentation In Popular Culture
The exclusion, or rather misrepresentation of people of color in popular culture has become a
cataclysm in our society. Regrettably, the exclusion, or blatant misrepresentation hadn t received as
much deserving cognizance until recent controversies surrounding the 2016 Oscars. Seemingly, the
visual of a uniformed undiversified audience served as a catalyst for awareness; the tension from the
issue unveiled how there was still an undercurrent racism present in the system, and that in turn
exposed how stagnant our society has been on the issues of institutionalized racism. Notwithstanding
the active minds of bell hooks and Melissa Harris Perry confronting the issue of inaccurate
misrepresentation of POC, the award show revealed much of the unperceived ... Show more content

When the misrepresentation of POC in films becomes an indicator that we are not boldly confronting
the issues needed to be confronted, a change must occur. As bell hooks and many other active
progressive thinkers, emboldened by the current racial inequalities of our society, have asserted, pop
culture has a significant impact on our perception of matter. In knowing the impact, it is imperative
that in the concurring systematic oppressions we do not remain stagnant. Through a close examination
of films: Pan, Braveheart, and Ghost in the Shell, we can vividly see how the overrepresentation of
white expose the underlying oppression within our society. According to the statistics conducted by
USC, there is an evident disproportion of minorities in both film and media. Yet, this disproportion is
rarely challenged. The Oscars of 2016 became a visual catalyst in the need for proper representation.
The prevalence of institutionalized racism in our current society can never truly be effaced if we fail to
grasp its strong presence in popular culture. The existing racism in Hollywood explicitly displays a
regression in racial equality in society. Hollywood is more than sorority racist; it is plagued by
something far worse: It is plagued by institutionalized racism. The three movies and their
whitewashed cast explore the racism within the system. In acknowledging the flaws, an effort should

Domenico Di Michelino s Divine Comedy
Domenico di Michelino: Dante s Divine Comedy Painting
Introduction:
Domenico di Michelino (1417 1491), an Italian painter and medieval poet was known best for his epic
poem, The Divine Comedy, which includes sections representing the three tiers of the Christian
afterlife: Purgatory (Purgatorio), Hell (Inferno), and Paradise (Paradiso). This poem was a great work
of medieval literature and was considered the greatest work of literature composed in Italian. The
Divine Comedy was a Christian vision of mankind s eternal fate. When The Divine Comedy was
written, Dante made a cathedral painting that represents his poem called Dante and His Poem. In the
painting, the Dante shows the 3 tiers related to the Christian afterlife. Dante was standing in a red
robed colossus, revealing his poem to the city of Florence. The painting was full of great meaning,
inspiring so many artists from Rodin to Robert Rauschenberg.
Biographical Details: Dante was born in Florence, Italy to Alaghiero and Bella. His mom died before
Dante turned 10 years old, and he soon had a new stepmother and two new siblings. He once lived in
Bologna for a couple of years until his exiles were banished then he moved to Padua. He took his

There are two modules to assess cognitive function of household members: the module EK1 for
children aged 7 14 years old and module EK2 for young adults aged 15 24 years old. Each module
basically comprises two different types of test: a short form of the Raven s Color Matrices (CPM) test
assessing a non verbal ability through pattern recognition and five math problems. While the first part
is very identical for two groups, the math problems are more difficult for the older group. Although
the CPM assessment is commonly used in medicine and psychology, it is known as the best objective
measure of general intelligence of an individual. The questions on the big personality traits allow me
to measure non cognitive abilities of an individual.
As for education, it records the highest level of education attended and highest grade completed for
respondents 30 years and older, whereas the test scores (i.e. EBTANAS and the UAN/UN test scores)
and information about grade repetition and school dropout are also collected for those still enrolled or
those under 30 years.

The Moving of the Lim Family Documentary Essay
Singapore experiences a land constraint and with the rising population, there are an almost desperate
calls for more housing estates as well as more facilities even if that means calling on the dead.
It might seem like any other year families getting ready before light of dawn to go and pay their
respects to the dead during Qing Ming festival. However, arming themselves with shovels, buckets
and other necessities, the Chew family marches solemnly into the peaceful serenity of Woodlands
Graveyard at 6 in the morning, heading towards the graves of Chew Teck Huat and Chew Xu Hui.
This year s Qing Ming festival is different and a tint of dread hangs in the air.

After safely removing the fragile bones, the process of cleaning up the area starts. The respectful
silence settles again as jackhammers slam into the said graves tombstone, shattering them into huge
chunks of marble pieces. However, this ends in a much shorter time, to rush through the heart
breaking process of destroying something so dear to the family.
The possibility of a thunderstorm during the monsoon season, which clashes with Qing Ming Festival,
might bring up the age old superstition of it being inauspicious to ungrave the dead. Feng Huat, the
second son, gives his emotional opinions on the exhumation as they make their hushed journey to the
columbarium. The Sun has almost set when the Lim family finally reaches Mandai Columbarium, the
unfortunate celebration almost coming to an end.
Professional cremators takes over the process and produces ashes from the bones of Teck Huat and Xu
Hui and places each into their respective urns. The family would then pick an auspicious niche to
place these two new urns as a new home for the remains of Feng Huat s parents, along with tens and
hundreds of other remains.

documentary of unusual footages of the process of exhumation not only depicts a saddening of period

Love Between a Parent and Child in After Making Love We...
Love Between a Parent and Child in After Making Love We Hear Footsteps There are several different
definitions for the word love. Love is a simple four letter word, with a multitude of caring and feeling
behind it. There is a difference between loving somebody and being in love with somebody. The love
between two best friends or between a husband and wife are the types of love that people want to last
forever. However, there are no guarantees that it will last forever. Furthermore, the love between
family members and the love between a parent and child is the kind of love that will last a life time. In
Galway Kinnell s poem After Making Love We Hear Footsteps Kinnell writes about the love between
a parent and child. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The feeling of security that the parents give by being there helps the young boy sleep at night. For
example, Galway Kinnell writes: and says, Are you loving and snuggling? May I join? he flops down
between us and hugs us and snuggles himself to sleep, his face gleaming with satisfaction at being this
very child. The parents understanding of knowing that the child needs security is just one the many
responsibilities they have for being a parent. Furthermore, the parents feel that even though the
situation there in is very frustrating, they would not give it up for anything. The love for their child
will never go away. Kinnell expresses this feeling of love on the last couple of lines of the poem: This
one whom habit of memory propels to the ground of his making, sleeper only the mortal sounds can
sing awake, this blessing love gives again into our arms. The love between a parent and child is
unconditional. It comes straight from the heart. The bond between a parent and child is something that
only a parent can really understand. It starts before the child is born and will last a life time. Parents
want to protect their child from any kind of harm. From the day the child is born, the mother and
father will be the one that the child will depend on. The parents will be the one the child relies on
whenever the child gets hurt, needs help, needs a shoulder to cry on,

The views on young people in modern America was progressively changing. American teenagers

The Creation Of Man ( Ge )
We have read about the creation of man (Ge. 1 2), education and punishment from God unto Man (Ge.
3 4), and lastly God s Covenant with man through Abram (12 22). In the movie; Karate Kid, Daniel
moves to Southern California with his mother but finds himself as the target of a group of bullies that
happen to take karate classes at Cobra Kai; giving them an advantage at fighting. Daniel later seeks
the help from his apartment s repairman, Mr. Miyagi; who happens to be a master of karate. God s
relationship with man is not static but evolving, just as the relationship between Daniel and Mr.
Miyagi because of the principal of listening, and following covenants made between different parties.
We have read about God s creation of man; Adam and Eve in Genesis 1 2, God s education and
punishment of both Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 4, and lastly God s Covenant that he made with
Abraham; the representative of man, in Genesis 12 22. In Genesis 1 2, God creates the first man
named Adam. From Adam, the first woman is created, Eve. So God created mankind in his own
image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Ge. 1:27) In this
passage, God creates male and female in the image of himself. While Eve was in the Garden of Eden,

The United States Civil War Essay
The United States Civil War can be considered as one of the darkest times in American history. The
Southern states were fighting for their way of life, and the Northern states were fighting to preserve
the Union. The war had begun in the year of 1861, and it would end in 1865 with the capture of
Jefferson Davis and surrender of Robert E. Lee. The war had begun at the battle of Fort Sumter. After
this battle, the newly elected Abraham Lincoln called for volunteers to join the Union forces. In 1862,
Union and Confederate forces would meet again at the battle of Fort Henry and Donelson. With the
Union succeeding at pushing the Confederate forces further back into the South, General Grant and
his army made their way down the Tennessee River. The forces would meet again at the Battle of
Shiloh and Pittsburg Landing. There have been many arguments supporting the theory that the
Confederacy did in fact win at the Battle of Shiloh. Although the Union lost more troops at this battle,
the Confederacy failed in many ways. In order to determine how exactly they failed, it is important to
study what the goal of the Confederacy was at Shiloh and whether or not they accomplished this goal.
In this essay, the Confederacy s goals for attacking Grant s troops at Shiloh and their failure to
accomplish those goals will show just how unsuccessful the Confederate army truly was at this
battle.1

The Uniform Crime Records And The Federal Bureau Of The...
In the late 1920s, the Committee on Uniform Crime Records was established by the International
Association of the Chiefs of Police (IACP). The goal of the Committee was to develop a systematic
way to measure crime in the United States. The Committee collaborated and decided to focus on seven
(7) specific crime areas which they felt were the most known crimes and the most likely to be
reported. These crimes were: burglary, robbery, larceny theft, rape, auto theft, murder and aggravated
assault (James Rishard, 2008).
The IACP developed their own definitions of these crimes to ensure uniformity of reporting the data
collected. This information and definitions were published in 1929 in the Uniform Crime Reporting
Manual. The first report of data collected was published later that same year and was amassed from
400 cities across the 48 contiguous United States, as well as the territories of Alaska, Hawaii, and
Puerto Rico. This report became known as the Uniform Crime Report (UCR). The following year, in
1930, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) was tapped to control the crime data collected for the
UCR (James Rishard, 2008).
Since 1930, there have been a few modifications made to the UCR. The FBI began recording the age,
sex and race of those arrested as well as increasing the known crimes reported to law enforcement
from seven (7) categories to eight (8) categories by adding the category of arson (James Rishard,
2008).

A Study On Postpartum Sex Taboo Essay
In an attempt to explain why certain societies have a postpartum sex taboo, anthropologist John
Whiting discovered the statistical association that, Societies with apparently low protein diets tend to
have long postpartum sex taboos (Ember 54). Based off of this association, Whiting went on to
theorize that a long postpartum sex taboo may be an adaptation to tropical environments, particularly
where the major food staples are low in protein (Ember 54). He argued that children in these areas
were prone to the protein deficiency disease called kawashiorkor (Ember 54), so if mothers abstained
from sex for a year, therefore eliminating the possibility of having another child, the first child would
be able to nurse longer and possibly have a lower risk for contracting the disease. In order to test his
theory, Whiting sampled 172 societies (Ember 62) and divided them into a table based off of the
duration the postpartum sex taboo, with a long taboo being anything over a year and short being
anything under. Additionally, he also divided the societies into high, medium, and low protein
societies, with low surviving on root and tree crops (Ember 61), medium on cereal crops (Ember 61),
and high on hunting, fishing, or herding (Ember 61). Personally, when reading about the theory and
analyzing the evidence supporting it, I am accepting of the theory s proposition, but do not support it
entirely, simply because I feel that there should be a bit more convincing evidence.

Analysis Of Rappaccini s Daughter
Lauren Thomas
Professor Saunders
ENGL 231
October 23rd, 2014
The Theme of Love in Rappaccini s Daughter Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Rappaccini s
Daughter holds the theme of love at its forefront. The story delineates the struggles, both internal and
external, that Giovanni Guasconti faces when courting a young woman named Beatrice Rappaccini.
Beatrice s love of a plant and her father s love of science are conflicts that also highlight the theme of
love. Along with these conflicts, Hawthorne uses the theme of love to pose the question of whether or
not love is worth fighting for as well as critiquing a tragic flaw in romantic relationships. These
elements combine together to make a compelling argument that love is simply not worth the struggle
it imposes. The first conflict that arises in the short story is the internal conflict of Giovanni. Giovanni
moves from his home in order to study at the University of Padua and sees Beatrice Rappaccini
underneath the window of his new home. The conflict Giovanni faces stems from his affection and
blooming love for Beatrice. Giovanni sees Beatrice s beauty as brilliant, so vivid in its character, that
she glowed amid the sunlight (pg. 7). However, her beauty is rivaled by her horror. Whenever a
creature is near her breath, it dies. Giovanni begins questioning whether or not loving Beatrice is a
wise decision. Her horror keeps him at bay while her beauty and her personality draw him in closer.

One attraction of the contingency approach among theorists and practitioners alike is its situational
perspective. Those interested in research issues regarding organization and management can use the
contingency perspective to explain why some factors influence situations in one setting but have
virtually no influence in another setting. Indeed, one objective of research within the contingency
framework is to specify those dimensions and conditions that do affect a situation and those that do
not. For the manager, the requirement from the contingency perspective is to identify which technique
will, in a particular situation, best contribute to the attainment of organizational goals. For instance,
under some circumstances, an authoritarian leadership style may be more appropriate than a
leadership style that tries to get workers internally motivated.tuation. While the contingency approach
is useful in recognizing that the complexity involved in understanding human and organizational
systems makes it difficult to develop universal principles of management, there have been several
criticisms of the approach. For one, it has been pointed out that the logical extension of the
contingency approach is that all situations are unique. If this is true, then management can be
practiced only by intuition and

Over the course of second semester junior year, I was given the opportunity of tutoring children at a

Personal Statement On Massage Green Spa
Three days before I voluntarily resigned my position from Massage Green Spa, there was an incident
that took place, which resulted in my lack of trust from the organization. When I was working for
Massage Green Spa, I usually was one of the therapists that close on Sunday nights. Forty five
minutes prior to closing, I did not have a massage scheduled, so I decided to clean the bathrooms in
preparation for closing. Halfway through the cleaning, I was interrupted by the receptionist to notify
me that we had a last minute walk inn. I expressed my frustration that the client will only have time
for twenty five minutes and I am not prepared to massage someone after just handling cleaning
chemicals. I stopped what I was doing and went up front to explain to the client that I cannot do a full
body massage in twenty five minutes. The male client express that he did not care and that he would
leave a nasty yelp review. I took the client back to the massage room and told him to lay face down
under the sheets. When I entered the room to start the massage, the man was laying naked face up on
top of the sheets. As I was getting him covered with a blanket, I stressed to him that he needs to
remain covered and draped. Once I started the session, he made an attempt to grab and touch me
inappropriately. I told him that the session is now over; this behavior is not okay at this establishment.
I left the room and stormed upfront to tell the receptionist what had just happened. I immediately

These inorganic pollutants naturally found in environment but due to human develepment activities, these pollutant amount has been increasing rapidly and released into water bodies. The most common inorganic pollutants from water are ammonium, phosphorus, arsenic, cadmiun, zinc, lead etc. It is highly toxic to human and environment (Choi et al., 2011). The inorganic pollutant such as ammonia and phosphorus promote eutrophication, which excessive amounts of these inorganic pollutant releasing into the water can accelerate this phenomena in a few years (Donald M et al., 2002). The overgrowth of plants and subsequent death have been created green layer on the surface of water bodies. These layer can be blocked the penetration of light and oxidation process into the water bodies. Thus, depletion of dissolved oxygen can be occurred in the water and affected aquatic life. • 3. The History And Social Impact Of The Circus Freak Show The History and Social Impact of the Circus Freak Show Since it s humble beginning in the mid 16th century, the circus and freak show act has been entertaining and horrifying people to this day; however, in today s ultra sensitive society, how has the classic freak show evolved to be deemed acceptable and be used to promote acceptance and positive views of people with abnormalities, rather than viewing these people as freaks , as was the original purpose of the classic freak show ? Popularized in the mid 16th century, the circus freak show became a common pastime in England. People with deformities and disabilities began being treated less as humans, and more as sources of interest and entrainment, and the crowds would gather to see these people exhibited. A notable early display was that of conjoined twins Lazarus and Johannes Baptista Colloredo. As described by History Magazine, Lazarus was thought to be quite handsome, appearing otherwise perfectly healthy, but for his conjoined twin brother. Joannes Baptista protruded, upside down, from his brother s chest. He was significantly smaller than Lazarus, and only his upper body and left leg visibly extended from his brother s torso (Strange and Bizarre:). Based off this description it is no wonder why the brothers became a popular exhibition at the court of King Charles I. Though the freak show was initially a display for the upper class, it would not take long for people to see the profitability of these acts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. French Horn Research Paper The French horn made its first appearance in the seventeenth century in France. Originally, people used the horns of animals before they started using metal. The French horn started out as a hunting horn. Its almost human like sound was used to signal to call to the hounds that were on a hunt. Later on the horn started to be more in the orchestral setting. Its sound would invoke the idea of a hunt. Later on, however, the sound of the horn started to represent royalty. As the instrument developed, it became capable of playing more and more notes and producing melodies. This allowed for more and more techniques to be developed. The French horn took a long time to be adopted into mainstream orchestral music. Before it was fully developed, its valves were not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The French horn has a very unique sound. Sound is initially created by buzzing the lips together. The shape one s mouth creates while doing this is known as the embouchure. The word bouche in French translates to mouth. The French horn s mouthpiece is one of the smaller ones out of the brass instruments, and it is more difficult to produce a sound with. In order to change pitches on the horn, the player would adjust the tension in their lips. The development of valves also allows for a large variety of pitches that can be produced. The valves allow the player to add length to the horn. Before the modern rotary valves came into play, the horn had piston valves, similar to that of a trumpet. Players can also adjust the pitch of the horn by strategically placing their hand in the bell of the horn. This makes the size of the bell smaller. Due to the horn s very distinct sound, orchestral composers utilize it to create special effects. Further development of the horn has allowed for complete chromatic sound production. Most modern orchestras have four horn parts. There are exceptions, however. Gustav Holst s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Michelle s Story The Auction Block When the crate arrived, Michelle knew her precious artwork survived the auction block. Mike had bought her story how it tore at her soul to sell the pieces. It would be akin to brushing away chunks of her life, erasing it as if it never existed, she told him. She didn t lie. It would kill her to sell them. She d only receive half the proceeds. Besides, Mike, now bent on expunging all memories of their marriage, expeditiously liquidated their past at fire sale prices. His previous groveling, begging for counseling, anything to repair their marriage, now gone. Michelle knew he d sell the artwork for a fraction of its worth. Now, with their arrival, she was set. She d thrive, not rot in the peasant class where she d been banished. Michelle created her sales plan as she opened the crate. First, contact the most prestigious auction house to sell the pieces. Next, deposit the money in an over seas account Mike could never find. Last, leave the stinking hole she called home for twenty years. Screw them. They don t need her? She didn t need them. She pried open the crate and lifted out a painting. As the packing peanuts floated to the floor around her in an abstract pattern, Michelle looked stupefied at the painting. This is the result of her soul baring? A family portrait? She stared at her younger self, holding Cole, while Michaela and Mackenzie rest their arms on Mike s shoulders. The portrait, along with similar ones in the crate, chronologically captured her faux life. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since both of these variables measured for population, this was another control variable included in the research. The incarceration rate, crime rate, and population of the states do not need to be operationalized, as they are already quantitative data. To operationalize whether or not a state elects or appoints trial judges, we gave each option a specific number. For example, if a state elects their trial judges, the state was given a one. These states include: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin (30 in total). Such were the environmentalists rallying cries that brought about the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Although, the first official endangered species legislation was a 1966 bill that called for saving U.S. wildlife, but lacked the powers to do so. The Endangered Species Act(ESA) of 1973 set forth the basic rules that apply in the U.S. today. By adopting the Endangered Species Act, Americans have adopted a simple value theory, when it comes to dealing with other life forms. This theory is simply pleasure is good and pain is evil. According to this theory, under the Endangered Species Act, the extinction of any species that would bring pain to ourselves is to be saved and those that do not hamper our consciences can be done away with. This is evident from the modern viewpoint of the caretakers and enforcers of the Endangered Species Act, the Fish Wildlife Services. According to them the Endangered Species Act of 1973, holds that endangered and threatened species of animal and plants are of esthetics, ecological, educational, historical, recreational, and scientific value to the nation and its people (Fish Wildlife Service,1989). Even advertisements and public educational programs to save endangered species, only point out the value of certain species to mankind. Nowhere is it said that a species should be preserved for intrinsic values and its right to exist in the world. For example, the most famous of the American listed endangered species is the Bald Eagle, our nation s symbol. The loss of these birds would have been painful to our ego and national pride. From my research I discovered three conflicting themes, and my theory behind these themes is based upon structural analysis. This ethnography will also reveal some of the methodological questions discussed in class, specifically, replicability, critical dialogue, reflexivity, and globalization. Interestingly, I found a way to connect three out of the four methodological issues to the conflicting themes gathered in my research. For example, critical dialogue links to the contradiction between playfulness and competiveness, reflexivity to upper and lower classes, and globalization to Englishness and Americaness. My point of departure, however, will begin with a basic introduction to the history and rules of rugby. This will enable my non rugby playing readers (i.e. Joel, William, Bashira, etc.) to gain general background knowledge on the sport before they become acquainted with the Occidental rugby culture. Rugby s Tale Legend has it that a young English boy picked up a soccer ball during a match at Rugby School. Picking up the ball is a clear violation in soccer unless the player is the goalie; but the illegality proved popular and led to the sport of rugby. In 1846, the school later published the rules of rugby. England, Scotland, and Whales picked the game up quickly and developed leagues for the new sport. The spread of rugby to outside the island ... • 12. The Penitent Magdalene Analysis Artemisia Gentileschi is unarguably a key player in the acceptance of women artists in a previously male dominated field. She was the first female member of the Academia del Disegno also known as the Academy of Design. This was a high honor for a woman of her day. Overcoming many hardships in her relationships, and even drawing inspiration from them, she became known for the excellence and the unique way she portrayed popular subjects in her artwork. Contemporary art critics have taken notice of her genius and talent in paving roads in an exclusively male field, and for the feminist perspective she had that was ahead of her time. Here in Florence she encountered the Tuscan style of painting and completed her work The Penitent Magdalene in 1620. Her subject, Mary Magdalene, who is portrayed in this painting as a wealthy woman of Artemisia s time, is a character from the New Testament of the Bible. There is not many details of her life that are known, but what we do know is that she was a prostitute, who changed her ways when she met Jesus. This painting is called The Penitent Magdalene, but it could instead be called The Conversion of Magdalene, because this painting seems to capture the moment she decided to change her life around. While she was in Florence, Artemisia had many wealthy families commission her to create artwork for them, and many think that the Medici family commissioned her for this particular painting. (Koen, Lisa) It is obvious by Magdalene s expensive dress and exposed shoulders that she is a fallen woman . Her posture also shows her penitence, and the jar of ointment in the bottom right hand corner is a signature attribute of Magdalene. Artemisia s skill with her medium is apparent is the rich texture of Magdalen s garment, and in the contrast between her and the background. There are a few theories as to why Artemisia would choose to depict Mary Magdalene. Mary Garrard in her book Artemisia Gentileschi Around 1622: The Shaping and Reshaping of an Artist s Identity (2001) has proposed the following about how Artemisia might have connected with this particular biblical character: Both Artemisia and Mary Magdalene were stigmatized as sexually promiscuous in both cases on trumped up evidence and both had reputations as sinful women ...One can imagine that she might have identified both with her troubled character s desire to escape the confinement of luxury she found restrictive, and stifling, and, perhaps, with the Magdalene s yearning to move onto a higher spiritual plane. The Iron Sulfur world hypothesis proposes the idea that Chemoautotrophic organisms were the first creations on earth and that they get their energy from the oxidative formation of pyrite. Chemotrophs are organisms that obtain energy by the oxidation of electron donors in their environments. Typically, the task of imagining and guiding the integration of all these elements belongs to the director. One of the toughest tasks of a director is to reinvigorate a socially important and renowned production while maintaining its original message and composition. Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House is a socially important realistic play that portrays the gender dynamics that plagued the nineteenth century and questions the expectations held for women in a household and society. The play is still incredibly influential because the issues it addresses are still prevalent decades later. The original play is so accredited and well known that directors face a tough challenge of trying to reconstruct it in a memorable way. One director, Lee Breuer, attempted to do so in his Mabou Mines DollHouse production. In agreement with Elinor Fuchs review, through creative directorial decisions on setting, casting, and music, Breuer uniquely reignited the fire in Ibsen s play without drifting from the original message. Before discussing the specific stylistic decisions Breuer took to reconstruct and modernize Ibsen s play, it is important to obtain a clear definition of reconstruction in theater, which is different from other forms of reconstruction. Generally, reconstruction is the rebuilding of something that has been broken. However, it would not be fair to say that Ibsen s A Doll ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

God s relationship with man is not static but evolving, just as the relationship between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi because of the principal of listening, and following covenants made between different parties. We have read about God s creation of man; Adam and Eve in Genesis 1 2, God s education and punishment of both Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 4, and lastly God s Covenant that he made with Abraham; the representative of man, in Genesis 12 22. In Genesis 1 2, God creates the first man named Adam. From Adam, the first woman is created, Eve. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Ge. 1:27) In this passage, God creates male and female in the image of himself. While Eve was in the Garden of Eden, she was tempted by a serpent that tricked her with a piece of fruit from the tree of knowledge and life. • 28. The United States Civil War Essay The United States Civil War can be considered as one of the darkest times in American history. The Southern states were fighting for their way of life, and the Northern states were fighting to preserve the Union. The war had begun in the year of 1861, and it would end in 1865 with the capture of Jefferson Davis and surrender of Robert E. Lee. The war had begun at the battle of Fort Sumter. After this battle, the newly elected Abraham Lincoln called for volunteers to join the Union forces. In 1862, Union and Confederate forces would meet again at the battle of Fort Henry and Donelson. With the Union succeeding at pushing the Confederate forces further back into the South, General Grant and his army made their way down the Tennessee River. The forces would meet again at the Battle of Shiloh and Pittsburg Landing. There have been many arguments supporting the theory that the Confederacy did in fact win at the Battle of Shiloh. Although the Union lost more troops at this battle, the Confederacy failed in many ways. In order to determine how exactly they failed, it is important to study what the goal of the Confederacy was at Shiloh and whether or not they accomplished this goal. In this essay, the Confederacy s goals for attacking Grant s troops at Shiloh and their failure to accomplish those goals will show just how unsuccessful the Confederate army truly was at this battle.1 There had been decades of tension between the Southern and Northern states of America. • 31. The Uniform Crime Records And The Federal Bureau Of The... In the late 1920s, the Committee on Uniform Crime Records was established by the International Association of the Chiefs of Police (IACP). The goal of the Committee was to develop a systematic way to measure crime in the United States. The Committee collaborated and decided to focus on seven (7) specific crime areas which they felt were the most known crimes and the most likely to be reported. These crimes were: burglary, robbery, larceny theft, rape, auto theft, murder and aggravated assault (James Rishard, 2008). The IACP developed their own definitions of these crimes to ensure uniformity of reporting the data collected. This information and definitions were published in 1929 in the Uniform Crime Reporting Manual. The first report of data collected was published later that same year and was amassed from 400 cities across the 48 contiguous United States, as well as the territories of Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. This report became known as the Uniform Crime Report (UCR). The following year, in 1930, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) was tapped to control the crime data collected for the UCR (James Rishard, 2008). Since 1930, there have been a few modifications made to the UCR. The FBI began recording the age, sex and race of those arrested as well as increasing the known crimes reported to law enforcement from seven (7) categories to eight (8) categories by adding the category of arson (James Rishard, 2008). • 32. A Study On Postpartum Sex Taboo Essay In an attempt to explain why certain societies have a postpartum sex taboo, anthropologist John Whiting discovered the statistical association that, Societies with apparently low protein diets tend to have long postpartum sex taboos (Ember 54). Based off of this association, Whiting went on to theorize that a long postpartum sex taboo may be an adaptation to tropical environments, particularly where the major food staples are low in protein (Ember 54). He argued that children in these areas were prone to the protein deficiency disease called kawashiorkor (Ember 54), so if mothers abstained from sex for a year, therefore eliminating the possibility of having another child, the first child would be able to nurse longer and possibly have a lower risk for contracting the disease. In order to test his theory, Whiting sampled 172 societies (Ember 62) and divided them into a table based off of the duration the postpartum sex taboo, with a long taboo being anything over a year and short being anything under. Additionally, he also divided the societies into high, medium, and low protein societies, with low surviving on root and tree crops (Ember 61), medium on cereal crops (Ember 61), and high on hunting, fishing, or herding (Ember 61). Personally, when reading about the theory and analyzing the evidence supporting it, I am accepting of the theory s proposition, but do not support it entirely, simply because I feel that there should be a bit more convincing evidence. ... • 33. Analysis Of Rappaccini s Daughter Lauren Thomas Professor Saunders ENGL 231 October 23rd, 2014 The Theme of Love in Rappaccini s Daughter Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Rappaccini s Daughter holds the theme of love at its forefront. The story delineates the struggles, both internal and external, that Giovanni Guasconti faces when courting a young woman named Beatrice Rappaccini. Beatrice s love of a plant and her father s love of science are conflicts that also highlight the theme of love. Along with these conflicts, Hawthorne uses the theme of love to pose the question of whether or not love is worth fighting for as well as critiquing a tragic flaw in romantic relationships. These elements combine together to make a compelling argument that love is simply not worth the struggle it imposes. The first conflict that arises in the short story is the internal conflict of Giovanni. Giovanni moves from his home in order to study at the University of Padua and sees Beatrice Rappaccini underneath the window of his new home. The conflict Giovanni faces stems from his affection and blooming love for Beatrice. Giovanni sees Beatrice s beauty as brilliant, so vivid in its character, that she glowed amid the sunlight (pg. 7). However, her beauty is rivaled by her horror. Whenever a creature is near her breath, it dies. Giovanni begins questioning whether or not loving Beatrice is a wise decision. Her horror keeps him at bay while her beauty and her personality draw him in closer. The second conflict that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those interested in research issues regarding organization and management can use the contingency perspective to explain why some factors influence situations in one setting but have virtually no influence in another setting. For the manager, the requirement from the contingency perspective is to identify which technique will, in a particular situation, best contribute to the attainment of organizational goals.
