Best Practices and the Sdlc
It has long been accepted that constant change is fundamental to IT. While most IT managers
understand that change is part of the norm, the organizations that employ them often resist it.
Successful IT development calls for having a clear blueprint for proper IT direction of an organization.
By using a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model and sound best practice methods, an IT
manager can define that blueprint and make the best possible IT decisions.
According to http://www.bigpedia.comthe SDLC relates to models or methodologies that people use
to develop systems, generally computer systems. A number of SDLC models have been created:
waterfall, fountain, spiral, build and fix, and rapid prototyping. There is not a definitive ... Show more

Less than six months after the process started, the best practice tag was awarded to Eglin Air Force
Base in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. They were allowed to implement their procedures Air Force wide. In
the end, Eglin saved the Air Force six million dollars with its best practice procedures. As the term
best practice has become more popular, some organizations have begun using best practices to refer to
what are in fact rules, causing creativity to hamper.
This will never be the case with Google. Google believes that giving their employees freedom to move
about the company without middle management following them around has actually prompted
creativity. In a interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Google CEO Sergey Brin explained that
Google provides free gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner all prepared by gourmet chefs. They get
free medical care, daycare, and there is even a massage chair in the lobby. All of these benefits spur
creativity, which has made Google one of the World Wide Web pioneers. Google does not use best
practice because they are too rigid and do not allow employees to think outside the box . Some best
practices are needed though. This was the case with Microsoft and Netscape. They used a synchronize
and stabilize method created by David Yoffie and Michael Cusumano to orchestrate a massive
overseeing and managing of source code. This method allowed the two corporations to work
efficiently in a parallel.

Economic Performance Of Nigeria s Poor Oil Management
Institutions and oil Evidence suggests that Nigeria s poor oil management is due to institutional and
governance reasons rather than economic mismanagement alone, and corruption and the rentier nature
of the state are important part of the issue; Watts (2008) categorizes Nigeria as a rentier petrostate .
Sala i Martin and Subraiman (2016) main argument in their study is that the country s mediocre long
run economic performance are due to oil waste and corruption, rather than the Dutch disease effect.
Natural resources lead to rent seeking or what they call the voracity effect , and more than oil itself it
is poor institutional quality in the country which contributed to poor economic performance with an

(Amnesty Report, 2005; UNDP, 2005; ICG, 2006a, 2006b). Another factor contributing to the political
instability is that local militias directly aimed their attacks to oil facilities. In 2006, MEND (the
Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta) sought to cut Nigeria s oil output by 30 per cent
achieving its goal by costing the economy more than $2.180 billion lost in oil revenues. Moreover,
between 1999 and 2005 the Nigerian government estimated the losses or revenues due to political
violence in around $6.8 billion (Watts, 2008). In 2009, the government passed an amnesty law for
militants and agreed to give them cash payments and training opportunities in exchange for their
weapons; nevertheless, this agreement was short lived (EIA, 2015). Figure 3.1. Average annual crude

(2008) criticises other authors for the lack of mention of the oil companies responsibility in the oil

being part of corrupt practices of distributing rents to the elites of local communities, and cash

The Problems Of Bread And The French Revolution At Bordeaux
Brace, Richard Munthe. The Problems of Bread and the French revolution at Bordeaux. The American
Historical Review 51, no. 4 (1946): 649 667.
Hard labor and low wages where common for the peasants of France during the revolutionary years.
Bordeaux a city in France was well known for its success in exports and imports. The ports of
Bordeaux where considered the best than any other city in France. Its yield of profit was significantly
more than any other city. The upper class prospered and working and peasantry suffered intense labor.
Brace argues that despite low wages and hard labor they were not the cause of the upcoming
revolution in 1789. Brace argues that high prices of bread and scarcity of grain due to bad harvests
where the cause of the civil unrest. Subsistence for peasantry was largely dependent on bread. When
the bread ran and out and starvation became a problem the working class looked to the government for
relief. Brace goes in depth on the government s failure to fix its grain problem, regulate bread prices,
and feed it citizens. Bread is the staple food of the majority of France, without it revolution was
inevitable.

Shockwave Is A Short Duration Acoustic Wave That Carries
Shockwave is a short duration acoustic wave that carries energy and can be used as a stimulus to heal
damaged tissue. Years ago, shockwaves first started to affect swimmers on a South Pacific beach.
Researchers found that when mines were blasted in the water the high energy shockwaves would
damage the internal organs of the swimmers. As researchers kept studying the effects of shockwaves,
they developed a treatment for kidney stones by controlling the power of the shockwaves that were
released. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a noninvasive treatment that delivers high or
low intensity shockwaves to specific area in the body. Doctors determine the intensity of the
shockwave by the patient s location and severity of pain. Before ... Show more content on

Connective tissues have many different cell types. Fixed cells, such as fibroblasts and mast cells, stay
part of the tissue for a long period of time. Wandering cells, such as macrophages, do the opposite.
They are seen in tissues for short periods of time, usually when there is an infection. Connective
tissues can be broken down into two categories, connective tissue proper and specialized connective
tissues. Connective tissue proper includes loose connective tissue, adipose tissue (fat), and dense
connective tissue. Specialized connective tissue includes cartilage, bone, and blood. Muscle tissues are
found attached to the bones, the walls of hollow internal organs, and the heart. Their main function
involves movement. These tissues react to a stimulus called muscle fibers. When these muscle fibers
contract, they pull at their attached ends and this is how we move different parts of our body. There are
three main types of muscle tissue: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Skeletal muscle tissues are found in
muscles attached to bones. Smooth muscle tissues are found on the walls of hollow internal organs.
Cardiac muscle tissues are only in the heart. The last major type of tissue is nervous tissues, which are
found in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. Their function is to send impulses for coordination,
regulation, and sensory

The Core Elements of Person-Centered Counseling
Person centered counseling (PCC) is one of the key models of understanding for the dynamic force
that lies behind the therapist/client relationship. This particular model focuses on the three core
elements of unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding and congruence, all of which
related to the establishment of a level of trust, understanding, respect and honesty between the two
players. But what happens when the domain of person centered counseling gets usurped by a
computer centered reality ?
Can there really be person centered counseling in the day and age of digital manipulation and
engagement? What does it mean when gaming addictions are a leader on the scoreboard of issues of
concern to many young people? And if there can be an equivalent contemporary model, what are the
implications of this for the use of the kinds of therapeutic interventions that are likely to be the best for
dealing with problem computer usage?
This paper provides a brief overview of the three core elements of the PCC model and then seeks to
explore how they are likely impacted by the evolution of the fast paced realities of computer and
technological immersion. Clients and therapists are already finding themselves engaged together on
many fronts in the dynamic universe of cyberpsychology where the rules about what is real or ideal
and how human perceptions of these transfer to real life are just beginning to be understood.
First, however, it needs to be recognized that this

Fice Of National Statistics Crime Survey Essay
The Office of National Statistics Crime Survey for England and Wales (2016) reported that violence
against the person offences recorded by the police rose by 24% in the latest year with the latest figures
representing the highest number of violence against the person offences recorded in a 12 month period
since the introduction of the National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS) in April 2002. The Offences
Against the Person Act (1981) defines the violent forceful infliction of physical injury as Grievous
Bodily Harm (GBH), whether this be with intent (section 18) or without intent (section 20), as
unlawfully wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm (Crown Prosecution Service, n.d.) These are
indictable only offences with the charge of GBH Section 18, with intent; actus reus (guilty act) and
mens rea (guilty mind), carrying higher penalties than that of Section 20, without intent. With a
maximum penalty of life imprisonment, this reflects the significant life changing psychological and
physiological ramifications impacted upon its victims.
In considering the offence of GBH, I shall critically consider two criminological theories and relate
these theories to this serious violent offence, noting the extent to which they explain this behaviour.
Finally, I will consider how these theories fit into the broader context of criminological thinking.
Research suggests that violence arises from interactions among individuals psychosocial development,

The Importance Of Doing Business In India

attractiveness towards new entrepreneurs that are looking to break into new international markets. Just
from looking at the data within the site, we see that India is ranked as the 100th country within the 190
countries listed within the index. It is interesting to see that although ranked 100th overall, they

Russia seems to be the most attractive to foreign investors coming in at 35 followed by China, India
and finally Brazil. The main trend seems to be that countries that perform well within the index and
are attractive to foreign clients tend to also perform well in the following areas. Enforcing of
contracts, ease of obtaining electricity, overall ease in process when starting a business and availability
of credit seem to be crucial factors that indicate how easy it will actually be for an individual to
conduct business. In India s particular case there has been a lot of improvement that has catapulted
them from a ranking of 130 to 100 in the recent years there is still a lot of unattended issues that
frustrate individuals. A culture of bribes also seems to be a common thing in the business world within
this country and it appears that nothing moves along unless the right amount is paid to the right
individual who is pushing your agenda. If one was to look at the current rakings for countries within
the BRIC group in comparison with the numbers that the United States has listed, we can begin to
understand where each needs to focus as far as improving their ease of doing business. While there are
areas where the United States does perform worse in comparison with BRIC countries the is a clear
noticeable difference when analyzing the data in comparison to the United States. The combination of

In a land far far away there were two anthills. Only two in the land. The anthills were not aware of
their existence. In one anthill brimming with collected resources and a fair queen lived the Opie ants.
In the other there were corrupted a corrupted queen who made the ants work until their death to satisfy
her. Those were the Totie ants. Some of the Totie ants were good and hardworking but some turned
evil just like the queen. The Totie ants and the Opie ants had the same anthills but different leader. The
Opies had an abundance of food; whereas the Totie ants were starving because the queen only looked

Charlemagne and the Saxon War
Every historian interprets the past differently and with distinctive perspectives, resulting in many sides
to one story. Often the reader must decide which perspective is more logical, likely, or coherent.
Recounting one war took a lot of time and effort because of the necessity to include all sides of the
story. Becher, Barbero, Collins and Backman have approached the life of Charlemagne with different
points of view; however, Barbero seems to have the strongest argument for the cause of the Saxon
War. The other historians were less willing to see the Saxon war as a religious war. The life of
Charlemagne was interesting to historians because it was filled with many vigorous wars that he
fought including the infamous Saxon War. From the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even with the threats of destruction, the stubbornness of the Saxons continued. When war began, the
Saxons sacrificed their prisoners of war to their gods, and the Franks killed anyone unwilling to be
baptized. Eventually, there was no place that was safe and massacres had begun that were inspired by
the Bible: Charlemagne wanted to act like a true king of Israel. The Amalekites had dared raise their
hand to betray God s people, and it was therefore right that every last one of them should be
exterminated (47). Charlemagne then imposed a law saying anyone who offended the Christian
religion and its clergy would be put to death or forced to convert. The final act of the war was the
deportation of the Saxons and granting their land to close by Slavic community.
On the other hand, the Einhard came up with a different instigation of the war. He did not relate it to
Christianity as strongly as Barbero did. His view of the cause of the war was because the peace
between the people was not sustaining. This eventually led to the Franks refusing to make any
comebacks, but instead going to war with the Saxons. This war was thought to be a thirty three year
war with the advantage for the Franks. However, Einhard does state that the war was based on a
religious disagreement, but only slightly. The Saxons were conquered many times over the years

The Negative Effects Of Gress Stress And Its Effects On...
Through the fast pace of today s economy and job market in the United States, students are constantly
being asked to do more in order to maintain a competitive edge. Although, obtaining such an edge
might promote a positive outcome, there are also negative responses that essentially hurt students as
individuals and the American job market as a whole. The constant government and societal push
towards measuring up to the rest of the world is essentially, harming students more than it is
promoting them.
Although stress stress isn t always a negative aspect, in extreme situations, it can prove to be very
unhealthy. The American Psychological Association has found that Teens report that their stress level
during the school year far exceeds what they believe to be healthy... The association also says that
Many teens also report feeling overwhelmed (31 percent) and depressed or sad (30 percent) as a result
of stress. The stress that students are experiencing is not the problem as much as the consequences that
come from it. Depression and lack of motivation can result from too much pressure upon students, and
these negative side effects can cancel any of the positively intended effects. From elementary school
to college, the American school system is constantly striving to keep up with that of other countries.
This constant motivation can be very toxic to the entire cause at hand. The University of La Verne

during the early Proterozoic Eon there was an ice age formed and it was the Huronian. The second ice
age was the cryogenian and it has been known that it produced a snowball earth in which permanent

Scientists believe the possible causes of the medieval warm period were increase in solar activity,
decrease volcanic activity, and change to ocean circulation. After the medieval ended what followed
was the little ice age; the little ice age is a period between the thirteen hundreds to the eighteen
seventies. During this time Europe and North America were subjected to a much colder winters than
during the 20th century. Scientists believe the cause of this period was cyclical lows in solar radiation,
heightened volcanic activity, changes in the ocean circulation, variations in earth s orbit, and axial tilt,
inherent variability in global climate and decrease in the human population these just the few reasons
why the little ice age was formed.
Climate change has caused many problems to humans and ironically the cause of it are humans them
selves. One of the major problems that climate changed has caused is food crisis; hotter temperatures
will severely diminish the world s ability to grow crops and feed humanity and other animals. The
effects of major heat waves recorded in the past were very excruciating like the one in Western Europe
during the summer of 2003 which hunted the crop yield deeply. Also in 2003 Italy was affected by a
big heat wave where a maze yield feel by 36%. These are major signs that humans won t have any
thing to feed themselves in several years if this damaging global warming continues.

Notes On Wild Fruits
Wild berries. Medical wild strawberries are categorized as a member of the Rose family taxonomy.
They are found throughout the Alberta province in western Canada, but not common in the southeast.
The leaves of the strawberry have three toothed leaflets and five white petals. The leaves of the wild
berries are delicate as opposed to the typical leaves which are less delicate. The unripe berries are
green and coat with a slightly red color. The ripper the berries the more it adds up the red color to the
berries. The ordinary strawberries, which are grown for commercial purpose are considered to be of
hybrid origin between the wild berries. The smell of the berries is almost synonymous with the typical
berries, but the difference lies in the size of the fruit, wild strawberries are relatively small compared
to the first berries. The fruits grow wild and are found in the lowest valleys in moist soils of woods
beside streams. They grow in open well drained places in the lowland of subalpine zones. Wild
strawberries are perennial herbs that grow from a fibrous root. They are eaten by some birds and
mammals. (Jump Start: A Northwest Renaissance Anthology 2009) The wild strawberries also known
as the Alpine strawberries are very popularly used for therapeutic purposes. Traditionally all the parts

The thirteen colonies were all largely settled by an English population, sharing much of their English
identity amongst each other. As time progressed into the 18th century, though, the New England and
Chesapeake colonies have branched into two distinct societies. Due to several factors (geography,
climate), the two regions changed much in social, political, and economic aspects. Social life in the
Chesapeake and New England colonies differed greatly. In the New England colonies, much of the
immigrants were families fleeing the Church of England. Towns in the region were also much more
organized and contained schools something the Chesapeake colonies did not focus on. The
Chesapeake immigrants tended to be young single men seeking fortune. Women in the Chesapeake

Thus it should now be evident how and why New England and the Chesapeake colonies branched off
into different societies, despite their common English roots. These differences are still seen today in
everyday actions from stereotypes to factual events occurring. These new societies were created by the

The True Beauty Of Music
The true beauty of music is that it connects people. It carries a message, and we the musicians are the
messengers . Music has been the source of comfort for many people around the world who are battling
hardships; it helps connect people who share similar experiences and aspire to share the same message
together. In the Caribbean region, they all shared some fundamental experiences; in particular, the
history of slavery. Enslaved people suffered extreme punishments, diseases, poverty, and rape. Their
identities were stripped away from them and they were treated as a property of the European owners.
In the twentieth century, after slavery has been finally eradicated, the aboriginals were weary of
discrimination and the horrific living conditions they still suffered post independence. Therefore, they
decided to fight for their rights to speak and voice an opinion. In the Anglo Caribbean region, music
played a major part in people s lives. The Caribbean people turned to Black Nationalism and began
practicing their own spiritual beliefs and voicing their opinions to send a message through their songs
and music. Nations in Latin America were beginning a process of rapid urbanization. Cultural
nationalism was widespread and expressed itself in musical nationalism . Music developed greatly
after independence, art forms like Reggae, diaspora, Samba, Tango, and Calypso that were established
in the twentieth century are still practiced and celebrated today all around the world.

The Annual Spending On Renewable Energy
The annual spending on renewable energy by the Department of Defense (DOD) will reach $10 billion
by 2030 (Schueneman). Right now the military proves to be one of the highest consumers of
renewable energy. They are also responsible for using and burning the most fossil fuels in the entire
country. The DoD realizes this and that s why they are working so hard to become a greener military.
In order to enhance the security of the American people and to address the every changing

A lot of military leaders where already well aware of the sustainability issues going on within the
DoD. Admiral John Nathman, USN (Ret.), former Commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces Command
under President George W. Bush, put it this way: There are serious risks to doing nothing about
climate change. We can pay now or we re going to pay a whole lot later. The U.S. has a unique
opportunity to become energy independent, protect our national security and boost our economy while
reducing our carbon footprint. We ve been a model of success for the rest of the world in the past and
now we must lead the way on climate change (Schueneman)
The military as a whole has realized that their sustainability efforts haven t been the best and they are
doing enormous amounts of work to change that. Some may argue that the DoD isn t concerned about
sustainability because the Pentagon generates five times more toxins than the five major US chemical
companies combined and is considered the single largest domestic consumer of oil (Sustainability). In
all actuality the DoD and the Pentagon is well aware of this. That is why they are pushing for these
huge sustainability changes. They know that they are a large role model and in order to change the
image of the U.S. they first need to change their own image. The Departments of the Navy, Army, and
the Air Force, are all making big changes to help with this new mission; to

The Importance Of Intercultural Relationship
Intercultural Essay
This intercultural relationship took place this year. it was with one of my co workers. We have a
friendship relationship and clicked pretty well together and rather fast. When we work together we are
very happy to see each other, as this is the only time we really see each other. Outside of work, we are
both busy. This friendship is great, and is very balanced. We don t always agree with each other and
talk it out, but we also agree and feels good. With Kate our intercultural relationship changed within
stages over time, developed feelings and situations through the relationship, and key concepts.
Kate and I right away had some differences and were aware of them rather quickly. The first stage
which is racial/cultural awareness. We mostly agree, but they re times were we don t look eye to eye
on something. It s very different, as we do to better ourselves and learn from each other. The second
stage which is, coping stage which develops proactive and reactive acts to achieve past their
challenges. This was a bad stage for our intercultural relationship was when I was doing proactive
acts. It made me push her away, as it was an ongoing process. I just wanted to understand why we
didn t hangout outside of work. I still don t know to this day, but we dropped it. Our reactive strategies
which only occur once the behavior occurs, is good as we overcome these well. The third stage which
is identity emergence is taking charge of the images of themselves

Conclusion Of The Declaration Of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was created in 1776 by Thomas Jefferson and the Continental
Congress. This document is a founding document of the United States because it created the
foundation for the United States government, established independence for the nation, granted equal
rights for all citizens, and gave the nation the ability to sell and trade independently. As a founding
father of the United States, Thomas jefferson was highly qualified to write the Declaration of
Independence. Thomas Jefferson was elected by the thirteen colonies to draft the document because of
his intelligence, experience fighting in the Revolutionary War, status as the founder of the University
of Virginia, and role as the third President of the United States. Jefferson also studied at the College of
William and Mary in the practice of law. Although most believe Jefferson was the only person
involved in writing the Declaration, he actually had a team to help him, called the Continental
Congress. This team consisted of Benjamin Franklin from Pennsylvania, John Adams from
Massachusetts, Roger Sherman of Connecticut, and Robert Livingston of New York. Jefferson stated
unanimously pressed on myself alone to undertake the draught [sic]. I consented; I drew it; but before
I reported it to the committee I communicated it separately to Dr. Franklin and Mr. Adams requesting
their corrections. . . I then wrote a fair copy, reported it to the committee, and from them, unaltered to
the Congress.

Essay about Stewardship
Around the world in Christian and secular circles we hear the word stewardship. Not only is
stewardship one of the basic issues discussed in scripture, but it s also something we neglect as
something we need to concentrate on while going through our own Christian walk. We live in a
society that is very individualistic, concentrating on whatever will bring pleasure and make us feel
good. Stewardship definitely doesn t fit into the way society is today. Before going to far into this,
what exactly is stewardship? Stewardship is taking care of or managing every God given resource
with an attitude of responsibility directing such resources for his intended purposes. To truly

There will come a day when we are going to be accountable for all our sins. Standing before Christ,
we will be asked how we plead to these sins, and judgement will occur. Throughout the Bible
stewardship is scattered everywhere, from the Old Testament days of Moses and Abraham to the
teachings of the disciples and Paul. When one carefully studies the word of God, it is truly evident that
we are to be stewards of our total self, not just time, talents, and money. God calls us to give our lives
up, not just our resources.

The first group is critical of Freud because of his method of data collection or his lack of data. A
second group of critics dislikes techniques that psychoanalysts use to assist their patients. Free
association, according to Grünbaum (1986), is not a valid method of accessing the patients repressed
actual memories because there is no way of ensuring that the analyst is capable of distinguishing
between the patients actual memories and imagined memories constructed due to the influence of the
analyst s leading questions . Finally, Beystehner refers to critics who condemn psychoanalysis as not
being scientific. Because it is impossible to test, lacks predictions, and has no interpretive rules, it
contradicts many of the fundamental tenets of science.
Loftus (1993a, 1993b, 1995) stated in many studies that memories are often reconstructed and that the
therapist aids in the construction process through such avenues as dream interpretation and hypnosis.
The question of whether dreams are a reliable source of information has been refuted by most in the
field; yet, patients continue to reconstruct memories with the aid of therapists. The modern scientific
phenomenon has its roots in Freud s original psychoanalytic

The Importance Of Augustus, The First Emperor Of The Roman...
Throughout the Roman Empire, many new perceptions and strong leaders began to rise to overall
power. These new perceptions and leaders helped build the structure of the history of the world. One
of these resilient leaders was Augustus, who was considered to be the first emperor of the historical
Roman Empire. During his reign as the first emperor, Augustus established many new and fulfilling
virtues. Some of these virtues included the idea of taxation being more reasonable for citizens. He also
implemented the creation of roads and the ultimate revamping of the Roman city. In order to
document his lifetime and role as a Roman leader, Augustus decided to scribe many of his experienced
achievements, successes, and victories. More importantly, he used this subjective inscription to
successfully display his leadership and consultant persona during his reign. Throughout the inscription
of the Res Gestae, Augustus expresses and legitimates his diplomatic authority by describing his many
political successes, social achievements, and military victories to seek the approval of citizens
throughout his reign during the Roman Empire.
During his admired reign, Augustus claimed to have proficiency in many political successes that
ultimately expresses and legitimates his authority. Along with exiling the murderers of his father, he
describes how he undertook many civil and foreign wars by land and sea throughout the world (RG,

In 1978, J.M. Burns defined successful leaders as being transformational rather than transactional.
Burns described the transformational leader as having recognized the organization as a complex
system in a chaotic environment. The leader has also responded to complexity by being aware of
change. The transformational leader has established a shared vision and inspired the organization to
learn and evolve in response to change. Transformational leaders have driven radical change, trading
short term stability for long term survival. In 2007, Kouzes and Posner refined Burn s work by

Leaders demonstrate their intense commitment to the values they espouse by setting an example. It s
how they earn and sustain credibility over time. Setting the Example is all about execution and action.
It s all about doing what you say. Leaders who are seen as practicing what they preach are more

there are some leadership qualities that need to be improved. One such behavior would be model the
way (Kouzes Posner, 45) Steve Jobs has not established principles concerning the way people should
be treated, nor does Jobs create standards of excellence as a leadership example for others to follow. In
fact, this leader has been known to scream at employees to the point of hyperventilation.
(Pomiewozik, 2000) This leader has also been guilty of failing to follow through on promises and
commitments. As an employer, Jobs was obligated to compensate employees for work as agreed upon
in the job contract. That obligation to compensate employees was not followed through when Jobs
fired a P.R. consultant and refused to pay the employee for completed work. (Pomiewozik, 2000) The

Cleaning Products And Its Effects On Our Environment
There are concerns over the cleaning products we use in our homes, many of these products we use
contain harsh chemicals that can damage, ultimately in addition hurt our environment. Fortunately
there are many companies that are taking note of this, specially taking the concerns from people in our
communities to create products that are more earth friendly . Another topic that should be included
when writing about sustainable cleaning products is biodegradability in the materials we use, as well
as the packaging. This is important as not only harsh chemicals harm our environment with their toxic
waste, in addition to we also end up producing pollution as a result of using packaging that is not
biodegradable.
We all use cleaning products in our home, many that contain harsh chemicals that flow into our
oceans. There are several companies that make green products for our home many of which will claim
to be non toxic; some of these companies are, NatureClean, Ecover, Earth Friendly, Method, Mrs.
Meyers, and Seventh Generation. Most of these products are biodegradable, provided with the fact
that they are made with natural ingredients. As well as being recyclable after using the product, adding
also that they are free from chemicals such as chlorine, bleach, as well as ammonia. These companies
are helping make a change not only in our homes also in our environment. In terms with speaking
about sustainable cleaning products for the households, we also must address the issue

The Existence Of God And The Battle Between Good And Evil
The existence of God and the battle between good and evil has been a topic of much discussion for
centuries. Through the philosophical scope, there is a Problem of Evil that challenges the existence an
all powerful God if there is evil in the world. Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, was a German philosopher
who argued about the topic of the problem of evil. Leibniz argued that (1) evil is not necessary; (2)
that there is evil in the world because as humans we are restricted in our knowledge since we are
merely made in the image of God, but we are not God and thus we are exposed to evil; and (3) God
didn t create evil but evil exists because of the free will of humans; all of which I believe provides a
clear solution to the problem of evil.
The problem of evil states that if evil exists in this world then there is no reasonable way that an all
powerful, benevolent God can exist, since if so, he would have made the world without evil. However,
Leibniz argues that evil is not necessary but it is a choice that we make. Evil is not absolute and is not
existent in all possible worlds since it is up to human choice. Evil is due to human free will (Bailey
105). This theory proves that evil is not something that is absolute contrary to the existence of God.
However, it is something that is chosen and acted on by human, showing, evil is not necessary or
directly connect with God. This provides a solution to the problem of evil because if evil is subject to
the choice of humans, then

Essay On Sea Otters
Describe the biological mechanisms through which global warming can influence the Sea Otter
(Enhydra lutris).
In today s society, global warming is a serious issue and more attention needs to be drawn to the
impacts of this issue and how we can help lessen the intensity of these impacts, especially on
organisms. These changes in global temperatures have had a great effect on the biological mechanisms
through which organisms are distributed in their habitats and the redistribution of species can cause a
change in species interactions and result in endangerment or extinction (Hughes, 2000). This essay
will be looking at how global warming has influenced biological mechanisms of the sea otters
(Enhyrdra lutris), which affects their population and distribution of this endangered species (IUCN
Red List, 2016). The sea otters are currently considered endangered according to the IUCN Red list
due to pathogenic infections, physiological stress caused by oil spills and predation by new species.

insulating and buoyancy properties of its fur, forcing sea otters to increase their metabolism which
requires more food sources. This, of course, decreases the population of this species. Due to the
changing interactions between this species and killer whales, sea otters are being predated by killer
whales as an alternative food source. The killer whales usual prey items, which are seals and sea lions

  • 2. Best Practices and the Sdlc It has long been accepted that constant change is fundamental to IT. While most IT managers understand that change is part of the norm, the organizations that employ them often resist it. Successful IT development calls for having a clear blueprint for proper IT direction of an organization. By using a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model and sound best practice methods, an IT manager can define that blueprint and make the best possible IT decisions. According to http://www.bigpedia.comthe SDLC relates to models or methodologies that people use to develop systems, generally computer systems. A number of SDLC models have been created: waterfall, fountain, spiral, build and fix, and rapid prototyping. There is not a definitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Less than six months after the process started, the best practice tag was awarded to Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. They were allowed to implement their procedures Air Force wide. In the end, Eglin saved the Air Force six million dollars with its best practice procedures. As the term best practice has become more popular, some organizations have begun using best practices to refer to what are in fact rules, causing creativity to hamper. This will never be the case with Google. Google believes that giving their employees freedom to move about the company without middle management following them around has actually prompted creativity. In a interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Google CEO Sergey Brin explained that Google provides free gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner all prepared by gourmet chefs. They get free medical care, daycare, and there is even a massage chair in the lobby. All of these benefits spur creativity, which has made Google one of the World Wide Web pioneers. Google does not use best practice because they are too rigid and do not allow employees to think outside the box . Some best practices are needed though. This was the case with Microsoft and Netscape. They used a synchronize and stabilize method created by David Yoffie and Michael Cusumano to orchestrate a massive overseeing and managing of source code. This method allowed the two corporations to work efficiently in a parallel. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Economic Performance Of Nigeria s Poor Oil Management Institutions and oil Evidence suggests that Nigeria s poor oil management is due to institutional and governance reasons rather than economic mismanagement alone, and corruption and the rentier nature of the state are important part of the issue; Watts (2008) categorizes Nigeria as a rentier petrostate . Sala i Martin and Subraiman (2016) main argument in their study is that the country s mediocre long run economic performance are due to oil waste and corruption, rather than the Dutch disease effect. Another factor contributing to the political instability is that local militias directly aimed their attacks to oil facilities. In 2006, MEND (the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta) sought to cut Nigeria s oil output by 30 per cent achieving its goal by costing the economy more than $2.180 billion lost in oil revenues. Moreover, between 1999 and 2005 the Nigerian government estimated the losses or revenues due to political violence in around $6.8 billion (Watts, 2008). In 2009, the government passed an amnesty law for militants and agreed to give them cash payments and training opportunities in exchange for their weapons; nevertheless, this agreement was short lived (EIA, 2015). Watts (2008) criticises other authors for the lack of mention of the oil companies responsibility in the oil conflicts. The American Historical Review 51, no. 4 (1946): 649 667. Hard labor and low wages where common for the peasants of France during the revolutionary years. Bordeaux a city in France was well known for its success in exports and imports. The ports of Bordeaux where considered the best than any other city in France. Its yield of profit was significantly more than any other city. The upper class prospered and working and peasantry suffered intense labor. Brace argues that despite low wages and hard labor they were not the cause of the upcoming revolution in 1789. Brace argues that high prices of bread and scarcity of grain due to bad harvests where the cause of the civil unrest. Subsistence for peasantry was largely dependent on bread. When the bread ran and out and starvation became a problem the working class looked to the government for relief. Brace goes in depth on the government s failure to fix its grain problem, regulate bread prices, and feed it citizens. Years ago, shockwaves first started to affect swimmers on a South Pacific beach. Researchers found that when mines were blasted in the water the high energy shockwaves would damage the internal organs of the swimmers. As researchers kept studying the effects of shockwaves, they developed a treatment for kidney stones by controlling the power of the shockwaves that were released. Fixed cells, such as fibroblasts and mast cells, stay part of the tissue for a long period of time. Wandering cells, such as macrophages, do the opposite. They are seen in tissues for short periods of time, usually when there is an infection. Connective tissues can be broken down into two categories, connective tissue proper and specialized connective tissues. Connective tissue proper includes loose connective tissue, adipose tissue (fat), and dense connective tissue. Specialized connective tissue includes cartilage, bone, and blood. Muscle tissues are found attached to the bones, the walls of hollow internal organs, and the heart. Their main function involves movement. These tissues react to a stimulus called muscle fibers. When these muscle fibers contract, they pull at their attached ends and this is how we move different parts of our body. There are three main types of muscle tissue: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Skeletal muscle tissues are found in muscles attached to bones. Smooth muscle tissues are found on the walls of hollow internal organs. Cardiac muscle tissues are only in the heart. • 7. The Core Elements of Person-Centered Counseling Person centered counseling (PCC) is one of the key models of understanding for the dynamic force that lies behind the therapist/client relationship. This particular model focuses on the three core elements of unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding and congruence, all of which related to the establishment of a level of trust, understanding, respect and honesty between the two players. But what happens when the domain of person centered counseling gets usurped by a computer centered reality ? Can there really be person centered counseling in the day and age of digital manipulation and engagement? What does it mean when gaming addictions are a leader on the scoreboard of issues of concern to many young people? And if there can be an equivalent contemporary model, what are the implications of this for the use of the kinds of therapeutic interventions that are likely to be the best for dealing with problem computer usage? This paper provides a brief overview of the three core elements of the PCC model and then seeks to explore how they are likely impacted by the evolution of the fast paced realities of computer and technological immersion. Clients and therapists are already finding themselves engaged together on many fronts in the dynamic universe of cyberpsychology where the rules about what is real or ideal and how human perceptions of these transfer to real life are just beginning to be understood. Fice Of National Statistics Crime Survey Essay The Office of National Statistics Crime Survey for England and Wales (2016) reported that violence against the person offences recorded by the police rose by 24% in the latest year with the latest figures representing the highest number of violence against the person offences recorded in a 12 month period since the introduction of the National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS) in April 2002. The Offences Against the Person Act (1981) defines the violent forceful infliction of physical injury as Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), whether this be with intent (section 18) or without intent (section 20), as unlawfully wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm (Crown Prosecution Service, n.d.) These are indictable only offences with the charge of GBH Section 18, with intent; actus reus (guilty act) and mens rea (guilty mind), carrying higher penalties than that of Section 20, without intent. With a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, this reflects the significant life changing psychological and physiological ramifications impacted upon its victims. In considering the offence of GBH, I shall critically consider two criminological theories and relate these theories to this serious violent offence, noting the extent to which they explain this behaviour. Finally, I will consider how these theories fit into the broader context of criminological thinking. Research suggests that violence arises from interactions among individuals psychosocial development, their neurological and hormonal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Enforcing of contracts, ease of obtaining electricity, overall ease in process when starting a business and availability of credit seem to be crucial factors that indicate how easy it will actually be for an individual to conduct business. In India s particular case there has been a lot of improvement that has catapulted them from a ranking of 130 to 100 in the recent years there is still a lot of unattended issues that frustrate individuals. Often the reader must decide which perspective is more logical, likely, or coherent. Recounting one war took a lot of time and effort because of the necessity to include all sides of the story. Becher, Barbero, Collins and Backman have approached the life of Charlemagne with different points of view; however, Barbero seems to have the strongest argument for the cause of the Saxon War. When war began, the Saxons sacrificed their prisoners of war to their gods, and the Franks killed anyone unwilling to be baptized. Eventually, there was no place that was safe and massacres had begun that were inspired by the Bible: Charlemagne wanted to act like a true king of Israel. The Amalekites had dared raise their hand to betray God s people, and it was therefore right that every last one of them should be exterminated (47). Charlemagne then imposed a law saying anyone who offended the Christian religion and its clergy would be put to death or forced to convert. The final act of the war was the deportation of the Saxons and granting their land to close by Slavic community. On the other hand, the Einhard came up with a different instigation of the war. He did not relate it to Christianity as strongly as Barbero did. His view of the cause of the war was because the peace between the people was not sustaining. This eventually led to the Franks refusing to make any comebacks, but instead going to war with the Saxons. This war was thought to be a thirty three year war with the advantage for the Franks. Setting the Example is all about execution and action. It s all about doing what you say. Leaders who are seen as practicing what they preach are more effective than those leaders who don t. (Kouzes Posner, 94) As successful as Steve Jobs appears to be, there are some leadership qualities that need to be improved. One such behavior would be model the way (Kouzes Posner, 45) Steve Jobs has not established principles concerning the way people should be treated, nor does Jobs create standards of excellence as a leadership example for others to follow. In fact, this leader has been known to scream at employees to the point of hyperventilation. (Pomiewozik, 2000) This leader has also been guilty of failing to follow through on promises and commitments. As an employer, Jobs was obligated to compensate employees for work as agreed upon in the job contract. That obligation to compensate employees was not followed through when Jobs fired a P.R. consultant and refused to pay the employee for completed work. (Pomiewozik, 2000) The demeaning attitude of this leader should not serve as an example for employees. On one occasion Steve Jobs played a cruel joke on an employee by pretending to offer the employee a position as Apple C.E.O. (Pomiewozik, 2000) Values are empowering....Values motivate. • 34. Cleaning Products And Its Effects On Our Environment There are concerns over the cleaning products we use in our homes, many of these products we use contain harsh chemicals that can damage, ultimately in addition hurt our environment. Fortunately there are many companies that are taking note of this, specially taking the concerns from people in our communities to create products that are more earth friendly . Another topic that should be included when writing about sustainable cleaning products is biodegradability in the materials we use, as well as the packaging. This is important as not only harsh chemicals harm our environment with their toxic waste, in addition to we also end up producing pollution as a result of using packaging that is not biodegradable. We all use cleaning products in our home, many that contain harsh chemicals that flow into our oceans. There are several companies that make green products for our home many of which will claim to be non toxic; some of these companies are, NatureClean, Ecover, Earth Friendly, Method, Mrs. Meyers, and Seventh Generation. • 35. The Existence Of God And The Battle Between Good And Evil The existence of God and the battle between good and evil has been a topic of much discussion for centuries. Through the philosophical scope, there is a Problem of Evil that challenges the existence an all powerful God if there is evil in the world. Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, was a German philosopher who argued about the topic of the problem of evil. Leibniz argued that (1) evil is not necessary; (2) that there is evil in the world because as humans we are restricted in our knowledge since we are merely made in the image of God, but we are not God and thus we are exposed to evil; and (3) God didn t create evil but evil exists because of the free will of humans; all of which I believe provides a clear solution to the problem of evil. The problem of evil states that if evil exists in this world then there is no reasonable way that an all powerful, benevolent God can exist, since if so, he would have made the world without evil. However, Leibniz argues that evil is not necessary but it is a choice that we make. Evil is not absolute and is not existent in all possible worlds since it is up to human choice. Evil is due to human free will (Bailey 105). This theory proves that evil is not something that is absolute contrary to the existence of God. However, it is something that is chosen and acted on by human, showing, evil is not necessary or directly connect with God. This provides a solution to the problem of evil because if evil is subject to the choice of humans, then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Essay On Sea Otters Describe the biological mechanisms through which global warming can influence the Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris). In today s society, global warming is a serious issue and more attention needs to be drawn to the impacts of this issue and how we can help lessen the intensity of these impacts, especially on organisms. These changes in global temperatures have had a great effect on the biological mechanisms through which organisms are distributed in their habitats and the redistribution of species can cause a change in species interactions and result in endangerment or extinction (Hughes, 2000). This essay will be looking at how global warming has influenced biological mechanisms of the sea otters (Enhyrdra lutris), which affects their population and distribution of this endangered species (IUCN Red List, 2016). The sea otters are currently considered endangered according to the IUCN Red list due to pathogenic infections, physiological stress caused by oil spills and predation by new species. Pathogens Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Toxoplasma gondii One of the ways that global ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These biological mechanisms include the changing pathogenic distribution of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Toxoplasma gondii, causing more sea otters to be infected since global warming has caused an increase of water temperature. Sea otters are extremely vulnerable to oil spills as oil disrupts the heat insulating and buoyancy properties of its fur, forcing sea otters to increase their metabolism which requires more food sources. This, of course, decreases the population of this species. Due to the changing interactions between this species and killer whales, sea otters are being predated by killer whales as an alternative food source. The killer whales usual prey items, which are seals and sea lions are becoming more unavailable due to the decreasing availability of sea ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
