Analysis Of The Soup Nazi By Larry David
The famous episode from Seinfeld, The Soup Nazi , is loved and viewed by many. In this episode,
both George Costanza (Jay Scott Greenspan) and Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld) go to a restaurant that
supposedly has the best soup in the city , according to the locals. However, everyone calls the owner
of the soup restaurant The Soup Nazi because of his hard, cold personality and his ability to refuse
service to anyone who annoys him. The episode comically portrays the fear which The Soup Nazi
induces on his customers and the willingness of his customers to come back just because his soup is so
delicious (http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/04/the top 10 seinfeld episodes?page=2). This episode
represents only a small sample of the countless comical and satirical works written by Larry David,
the writer of the television series, Seinfeld. Larry David is a comedian as well as a satirist. He is in
many Saturday Night Live (SNL) skits as Bernie Sanders, and was the co creator of the television
series, Curb Your Enthusiasm. A common theme throughout his works is his ability to take everyday
problems and blow them out of proportion. Larry David practices many techniques in his satirical
pieces that explore ideas of race and gender in order to bring across a message to society and
entertainment to viewers. Among Larry David s vast amount of satirical and comical pieces, one of the
main brunt of his jokes is race. Since Larry David is of Jewish ethnicity, he plays with the

Guernica Comparison
The painting Guernica, by Pablo Picasso, and the painting Executions of the Third of May, by
Francisco de Goya, were are both centered around the same general theme. There are several
similarities between the two pieces regarding content and meaning. In addition to the similarities of
these two pieces, there are also some differences regarding the artists, the creation process of the
pieces, and the technical aspects that make up the paintings. Similarities and differences can be
identified in these two pieces by analyzing the historical, political, social, cultural, religious, stylistic,
and technical aspects of both the form and content of the two works of art. In 1937, Pablo Picasso

General Franco accepted aid from currently fascist governments, such as those of Hitler and
Mussolini, in exchange for the allowance of Hitler s Nazis to practice their aerial warfare against the
inhabitants of Guernica. On April 28, 1937, the German Nazis air bombed the town of Guernica,
which is the old Basque capital in Spain. As a result, the civilians of Guernica were left with a
destroyed town and the massacre of numerous inhabitants. At the time of this event, Picasso was
working in Paris and was commissioned by his government to paint a mural for the Spanish Pavilion
of the Paris World s Fair. Guernica was completed in a short time following the bombing of Guernica.
Picasso did not allow Guernica to be displayed in Spain while General Franco was in power, which
led to the portrayal of the painting at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. After General Franco
was stripped of his power, the painting made its way back to Spain to be displayed in Madrid, the
Spanish capital. The Basque Nationalist Movement, who favors the Basque territories cession from
Spain, claims that Guernica has been stolen from them. Similarly, Executions of the Third of May,

Credit Card Breach Essay
The Trump Hotel Collection, a string of luxury hotel properties tied to business magnate and now
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, appears to be the latest victim of a credit card
breach, according to data shared by several U.S. based banks.
Contacted regarding reports from sources at several banks who traced a pattern of fraudulent debit and
credit card charges to accounts that had all been used at Trump hotels, the company declined multiple
requests for comment.
The Trump Organization just acknowledged the issue with a brief statement from Eric Trump,

In March, upscale hotel chainMandarin Oriental disclosed a compromise. The following month, hotel

It is likely that the huge number of card breaches at U.S. based organizations over the past year
represents a response by fraudsters to upcoming changes in the United States designed to make credit
and debit cards more difficult and expensive to counterfeit. Non chip cards store cardholder data on a
magnetic stripe, which can be trivially copied and re encoded onto virtually anything else with a

Magnetic stripe based cards are the primary target for hackers who have been breaking into retailers

Macbeth as a Tragic Hero in William Shakespeare s Play Essay
Macbeth as a Tragic Hero in William Shakespeare s Play
The play Macbeth by William Shakespeare charts the rise and fall of the Scottish general Macbeth,
through a tale of treachery, deceit and death. First performed in 1606 Macbeth is inspired by a story of
the Scottish monarchy. A tragic hero is one who at the outset is not wholly good or bad but has a
character fault that causes them to make tragic mistakes resulting in their eventual downfall. Macbeth
is a renaissance tragedy and we can see that Macbeth s decisions to move away from war hero to
noble aggressor as an example of him being an archetypal renaissance tragic hero. We can define
Macbeth as a renaissance tragedy because Macbeth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference between kingship and tyranny is highlighted in this play from the outset. King Duncan
is a virtuous king who always puts the needs of his subjects before the needs of himself, whereas
Macbeth as King is solely concerned with his own needs.
The three main causes of tragedy as identified by Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, are all contained
within Macbeth . The first of these causes is revenge, which is shown by MacDuff as he sets out on a
quest to avenge the murder of his kinsman Duncan. Secondly, a fall from greatness or De Casibus is
clearly shown by Lady Macbeth, who at the start of the play is possibly the strongest character but
throughout the course of the play degenerates into madness resulting in her suicide. Finally and most
importantly of all ambition is clearly shown as the driving force behind the murders of Duncan and
Banquo. By exploring revenge, De Casibus and ambition Shakespeare transforms Macbeth from a
historical play into a tragedy.
The tragedies of William Shakespeare often include a tragic hero. A tragic hero is one who brings
about his own ruin and the ruin of those he loves. The tragic hero is not necessarily evil; he is simply
human and has human flaws. Often there is a fatal flaw which leads to his downfall. In the play
Macbeth the tragic hero is the central protagonist, he is tempted by the chance to take the

Love Collection Research Paper
Love is the key to collecting anything be it antiques or beanie babies. When you love the things you
collect, you feel a passion that encourages you to spend your money, time and energy adding to and
caring for your collection. Begin your collection with pieces you love. The first step to collecting is to
find something you love and want to surround yourself with. A healthy and inspiring collection is one
you will want to live with for years to come. The exact nature of your collection is up to you. Choose
art or furniture of a particular period or style or select an item that is representative of meaning in your
life. Consider collecting teddy bears like the first one your mother gave you or elephant figurines after
one sparked your interest at a flea market. You might have to take a look around your home and find
that a collection has already started. Look for the things you love then build your collection around
them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that you have selected the pieces that will begin your collection it is time to start researching.
Visit websites and gather reference books with the details and history of the items you want to collect.
Remember that collections don t have to have value to anyone other than the collector. You might
choose to collect inexpensive items that speak to you or items of higher value. Talk to the experts.
When and if your collection begins to have some value it s time to talk to the experts. Listen to their
advice. Through them you can learn what value is reasonable for items you want to add to your
collection. They can also help you discover the most common flaws found in fakes or copies of the

Hitler leading the charge. Hitler led a coup attempt in Bavaria which is known as the Beer Hall Putsch.
He had hoped that his nationalist revolution in Bavaria would spread to the dissatisfaction within the

immediately suppressed, and Hitler was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison for high treason.
Hitler was not discouraged from there, he had his goal to eliminate the Jews to bring power to
Germany. In his mind this was to create the ideal human figures. During his time in prison he wrote
his first book in 1923 called Mein Kampf, a best seller at the time. The book depicts the jews as

Fifty Shades Of Grey Analysis
Dominant Men versus Submissive Women
In Beaumont s version of Beauty and the Beast and Fifty Shades of Grey written by E. L. James, the
male figure is portrayed as beast like and dangerous whereas on the contrary the female is vulnerable
and submissive to the male. Both Beauty and Anastasia are in patriarchal relationships and give into
the desires of the dominant male figure in their lives and this creates a lack of power for the female
gender. Throughout Beaumont s version of Beauty and the Beast the idea of a patriarchal relationship
was evident between Beauty and the Beast. The Beast used the tactic of manipulation and had
complete control over Beauty ultimately leading to her falling in love with him. Every night the Beast

constantly asking her to marry him. When he starved himself leading to his almost death she was in a

The Little Albert experiment was a psychological experiment conducted by John B. Watson and
Rosalie Rayner. This experiment was inspired by Ivan Pavlov s experiment Pavlov s dog which
studied the conditioning process in dogs. The Little Albert experiment was created to bring Pavlov s
research further to show how emotional reactions could be classically conditioned in people. In the
experiment, Little Albert was presented with various animals including a rabbit, a monkey, and a

Canada in the Global Economy Essay
Canada in the Global Economy
Over the past few years, Canada s economy has done comparatively well and has demonstrated some
resilience to the fluctuating global economy. However, Canada remains to be relatively less
competitive with respect to other developed countries. In this paper I will attempt to take a closer look
at Canada s position in the global economy today and examine the relevant issues.
Competition is an important driver of innovation and productivity growth. Looking at the domestic
Canadian economy, perhaps one of the most significant barriers to a strong domestic economy is the
lack of intense competition among domestic firms. There are many reasons for this. First of all, the
size of the Canadian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is in part due to the fact that the Canadian economy fails to support the development of domestic
giants because of the reasons discussed above. As a result, value added activities, for example R D, are
not performed in Canada. The branch plant operations simply carry out non strategic and non value
added operations that do not give the county any competitive advantages or innovative drives.
Furthermore, re investment is limited in the Canadian operations because the majority of the resources
are allocated to build the companies? competitiveness, which is often done elsewhere.
Besides a relatively non competitive business environment, Canada?s labour force also lacks the
competitive mindset. Structural employment remains high, which is partly due to the existence of
social assistance and unemployment insurance systems. Work incentives are low under the protection
of the employment insurance program, which indirectly contributes in a higher than the desirable
unemployment rate. Furthermore, unions and other similar groups do not promote many incentives for
workers to stay competitive in the workplace by continuously learning and improving productivity.
Countries that have been most successful in cutting unemployment are those that have improved

Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Distributed Generations
This chapter defines distributed generation (DG), briefly describes why it is useful and in the end
mentions the problems associated with its connection to the grid.
1.1 What is distributed generation (DG)?
Contrary to the traditional philosophy of power system design, which comprises of a large utility
generator situated far away from the loads, the concept of DG requires the installation of smaller
capacity generators close to the load.
IEEE defines the generation of electricity as facilities sufficiently smaller than central plants, usually
10 MW or less, so as to allow interconnection at nearly any point in the power system, as Distributed
Resources.
Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) defines DG as generation from a few kilowatts up to 50
MW.
International Energy Agency (IEA) defines DG as Power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The introduction of DG in distribution network changes the traditional radial structure into multi
power structure and demands a huge shift on size and orientation of power flow thus influencing
voltage distribution of the network [15]. The control of the DG requires large numbers of power
electronic devices which produce harmonics when turning on and off frequently. The paralleling in
DG will increase the short circuit current, which depends on many factors, such as the type of DG,
operation mode, capacity, permeability rate and the method of interfacing with the system. This
change will affect the original protection coordination of the network. According to the relative
position of the short point and the access point of the DG, the short circuit current in the protection
equipment will change dramatically. Therefore, the current arrangement of protection equipment
requires resetting. Moreover, a high penetration of distributed generation may change and reverse the

The Power Of Corruption And Absolutism In Movie Analysis...
Corruption and absolutism are ruling France. The movie well describes France as a big corrupted state
where the poverty is on such a bad level, therefore, the people of France are starting to realize that the
king, Louis XVI, should be taken down. The idea of to getting France to change to better is visualized
through the main characters which are not trying to help just France but also the French people.
However, the nobles are making it impossible for anybody, who is not on their side, to even get a
chance to see the king and the noble women have the power of corruption which is shown in many
ways throughout the movie.
The main character, which in the movie is called the Engineer, is a noble from the southwest part of
France. He may not be as rich as the nobles that live in Versailles, but he is honest, straight forward,
compassionate, and pure hearted. He is willing to take action, he understands the poverty, and he is
seeking the progress of France. His family owns a property in the southwest France that is surrounded
by swamps. The swamps are a very good place for mosquitoes to reproduce and, with the poverty
being on such a bad level, the people are starting to get sick and they even die. The fever that the
mosquitoes are transmitting is killing Engineer s people so he is going to do everything he can to stop
it. The Engineer s plan is to go to Versailles and talk to the king about drying out the swamps so his

Anne Frank the Play vs Anne Frank the Movie
Anne Frank the Play vs Anne Frank the Movie
In class, we had the opportunity to watch Anne Frank the movie, and a while back we heard the play.
The Anne Frank play was very similar to the Anne Frank movie, but they also had some differences
which made them different from each other. For example, by watching the movie, we hear that the
characters lines are practically the same as to the characters lines in the play, this in fact is a very big
similarity. In my opinion, the movie was better because you could actually see whats going on, and
not like the play were I have to use my imagination to picture what is going on. The movie was also
better because its differences to the play made it a little bit more enjoyable.

There are many things that are the same, but one main similarity that occurred was that Anne and
Peter both fell in love with each other towards the end. The thing that did not happened in the play
though, was that Peter and Anne both kissed.
If they were to make a live performance of The Diary of Anne Frank , it would be much harder than
making the movie. I say this because for a live performance, you would have to go through the hard

Plato s Republic As A Guide
Let me tell you about the perfect republic. First, I ll describe it to you using Plato s Republic as a
guide. Then, I ll explain whether it is better to live in Plato s republic or in a timarchy, oligarchy,
democracy, or a tyranny. Plato s books create an ideal city where there are the producers (farmers,
craftsmen, etc.), the auxiliaries, also known as the warriors, and the guardians, they are the rulers of
this city. Each of these groups must perform its job, and only that one job, and each must have the
right amount of amount of power in relation to the other groups. This then brings us to the myth of
metals, the guardians are gold, the auxiliaries are silver, and the producers are iron and bronze (415a).
The reason why the guardians are gold is because they are the most precious and revered, and the
quality of the metal or soul goes down the farther you go down the class system. But before I get
ahead of myself how are guardians supposed to be rulers? Are they born knowing how to rule? No,
they are tested at a young age, and are brought to terrors and then cast into pleasures testing them to
see if they are perfect if they do not pass this test they are to serve under the one who passes the trials
(413d). Now Socrates was a daring and creative man, and laid out three ideas known as the three
waves of ridiculousness. The first wave was a big one; he suggested that men and women alike should
get equal education. Is it possible to use any animal for the same things

Indonesia Essay
An economist in Indonesia, Frank Jotzo, presents a thorough report of President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono and his government s targeted emission reduction objectives, examining ways in which
they can be achieved (Mayer, Ryan, Aspinall, 2011). Indonesia is one of few developing countries to
announce the massive cut to their greenhouse gas emissions, showing their intense commitment to
help provide a solution to this global crisis. Now, Indonesia is taking a seat with the major countries
with equivalent climate pledges, By choosing to join this group of major countries with climate
pledges, Indonesia sent an important signal about the country s readiness to engage on this global
issue. Taking this stance was also in line with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, Indonesia spearheaded movements worldwide on this crucial international matter during
the complicated negotiations in Bali. President Yudhoyono aspired to acquire the United Nations
Secretary General s position for the 2017 to 2022 term, so the Pittsburgh twenty six to forty one
percent target displayed a desired spotlight onto him on a global level. Lastly, another facet that
contributes to Indonesia s eagerness to get involved on climate change internationally is universal
citizenship and global prestige; the emissions target was a logical conclusion to its engagement in
international climate negotiations, following on from its diplomatic success with the 2007 UN climate
conference in Bali (Jotzo, 2011).
Indonesia is eager to address this global problem and has been very forward in expressing the vast
importance to tackle this issue before it continues to worsen with time. Indonesia is considered one of
the largest greenhouse gas emitters in the world, reaching a total of 2.05 gigatons emitted in 2005
(Forests and Landscapes in Indonesia.). Climate change is a worldwide issue, which Indonesia

The U.S. wine industry consisted of 1,500 wineries; however, it was highly concentrated industry

supermarkets have high bargaining leverage, customers are price sensitive, and their switching costs

alcoholic as well as a non alcoholic beverage. And the bargaining power of suppliers is high as well.
Substitute for high quality grapes is not available. In 1998 RMC had a gross profit margin shortfall of

Since RMC has established its brand image as the top quality premium wines through years of wine

Analysis Of The Book Angles And Outcasts
The book, Angles and Outcasts, is compiled of works by hearing authors from the nineteenth century
and the twentieth century, as well as a chapter of works by authors who themselves are Deaf. Each of
these stories provides a unique perspective on deafness and how the Deaf people are seen by the rest
of the world. There is a common theme present through the nineteenth and twentieth century works;
exaggerated qualities of the Deaf person and a misfortune so great, that it overshadows anything good
or human about the person. In the nineteenth century, the Deaf people have exaggerated qualities such
as beauty or strength that are built to be something greater than human ability, but their deafness is
such a misfortune, that it negates those exaggerated qualities and often shows the deaf people as being
something other than human, an object of pity. In the twentieth century, the main theme of misfortune
being so strong that the deaf people are no longer seen as human equivalent, but rather a spectacle to
dump pity onto. In both centuries, Deaf people are written about in ways which portray them with
traits that could not be possible and shows their deafness as something deserving of such grand pity.
This is a form of oppression which we still see today, but it was much more prevalent in years past. In
the nineteenth century stories, the examples of extraordinary qualities is present in the theme of every
story. In the first and second story, Pierre and Camille and Doctor

Dementia And The Power Of Music Therapy By Steve Matthews
In the article Dementia and the Power of Music Therapy by Steve Matthews, argues that music
therapy has positive effects on dementia, in terms of non pharmacological treatment, inexpensive in
health budgets, and neurocognitive benefits for patients. Matthews starts off the article by describing
current tendency of dementia in western nation. He mentions that dementia is one of fast increasing
disease in United States, Canada, UK, Europe, and Australia. Additionally, Australian government s
investment for dementia raised up to third highest in national health budgets, in the wake of
cardiovascular disease and cancer (Matthews 2015). Following that, there is need for music therapy as

As shown in Henry s case, music therapy has significant benefits for dementia patients, with regard to
both physiological and intellectual perspectives. Following his case, the author goes on to discuss
music therapy from general viewpoint. According to the American Music Therapy Association, Music
therapy is the planned and creative use of music to attain and maintain health and well being
(Mattews, 2015). This definition is open ended, which illustrates that music therapy is not only
restricted for treating dementia, but also designed for variety range of population, including autism,
anxiety disorder, and mental disorder patients. Furthermore, Matthews says that music has four
aspects which contributed to music therapy: communal nature of its delivery, the rhythmic quality of
composition, the entrancing effect of music s mood, and the physiological arousal accompanying
listening (Matthews, 2015). Especially, people with dementia more likely to recall the rhythm, melody
of music that they used to listen when younger. Thereupon, the power of music plays meaningful role
to health care setting.

Truths In The Preface Of Animal Farm By George Orwell
Many people chose not to believe the reality behind Soviet communism and all of the terrible things
that were happening in Russia when Joseph Stalin was in control. In the Preface of Animal Farm,
Russell Baker stated that Orwell was that political figure that all politicians feared (Baker, ix) and that
he insisted on the truth even when the truth was most inconvenient (Baker, ix). Russell Baker s
assertion is proven to be true in multiple spots throughout the book. Some events that happen in
George Orwell s book, prove certain truths to be factual because they are based off of things that
actually happened with Soviet Communism. By proving these to be true, politicians fear him because
he makes people open their eyes to truths about the world they would rather be blind to instead. The
first truth George Orwell tells in his book Animal Farm, is that brainwashing in the form of
propaganda works. He shows this truth when Napoleon uses Squealer as a form of propaganda that
promotes himself and makes everything else look bad in the eyes of the animals on the farm. Squealer
uses logos when talking to the animals telling them of yet another lie about Snowball, Jones s shot
only grazed him. I could show you this in his own writing, if you were able to read it (Orwell, 90). By
stating he could show the other animals that Snowball did write it, it makes his claim more credible to
the animals who didn t believe him. It also helped that the animals could not check if he was

Homeless and Neglected Children in the 19th Century
In his novel Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain creates a fictional character that must confront very real
problems as a result of cultural and social issues of the time. Many of these such issues, slavery and
race relations being the most prominent, are dealt with significantly by the author, but another issue
not addressed in any sort of overtly significant manner is the plight of homeless, neglected, and
otherwise abused children in the 19th century. While Twain in no way attempts to create a
commentary on these issues, one cannot avoid focusing on the situation in which he has placed his
protagonist. On the surface, Twain s words seem to convey a relatively light hearted ... Show more

Huck is also met with a variety of potentially life threatening situations during his time running and
hiding with Jim. Again, Huck is a mere figment of the author s imagination; therefore, when
confronted with a dangerous situation, he is able to make correct choices for himself, at the young age
of 12. It is hard to believe that most real world 12 year old children would be capable of making the
same good choices when left to their own devices. Granted, Huck was accustomed to a life of neglect,
which would feasibly enable him to deal better with the atrocities and demands of his particular
situation, but the sadness lies in the fact that he had become accustomed to such a life in the first
place.
In today s world, children are seen as individuals who have certain rights as human beings, and who
are worthy of external (or non family) protection. This has not always been the case. For the better
part of the 19th century, there were no rules or regulations in effect that prevented the mistreatment of
children, since they were thought to be completely under the control of their immediate family
(University of Delaware). It was not until 1874 that the first organization concerned with the
protection of children was established in New York. The group called themselves the Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Children (SPCC), after the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
(SPCA), which was an organization in England that had

I attended the San Antonio Muesuem of Art and found a painting I really enjoyed called Passing Storm
over the Sierra Nevadas. It was painted by Albert Bierstadt in 1870, using oil on canvas. He created a
very dramatic scene of a thunderstorm that moves across a lake with a mountain in the background.
There is a stark contrast between light and shadows.
He uses thin, delicate lines to show the craggy mountain. Expressive lines and points give the boulders
and pine trees texture. The shapes of the mountains and the branches of the trees rise up to the
heavens, giving the piece a feeling of dynamic power and energy uncontrollable by mankind. The
horizontal lines of the lake give a sense of space. There is a path with a curve that can imply soft,
shallow lines that leads the eye to the forefront of the painting. It s is also a darker path with light
illuminating the top of the path, almost with a come this way feeling.
The colors used in this painting are phenomenal. He paints very dark clouds in the sky blocking the
sun, with a reprieve in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Years ago my brother used to be my world, one of the biggest priorities that he tried to instill in me
was a love for God. Around the time I was in the second year of engineering school he suffered a
severe injury from a car bomb in Iraq, he spent his last days in a hospital. He had always claimed that
God wouldn t give you anything that you can t handle, so I interpreted his situation very negatively

Effect Of Employees On Employees
Abstract This paper examined the effects on employees when the manager is present in the workplace.
It covered the definition of a manager, positive effects on employees, characteristics of a good
manager, negative effects on employees, lack of characteristics in a bad manager, and statistics to back
up some information. The relationships between employees and managers and types of workplaces
were also examined. The study concluded that the presence of a manager on a regular basis is overall,
the best option for both the employees and the workplace. Having a manager around help the
employees stay focused, helps managers better understand their employees, and benefits the
organization as a whole. Manager s Presence and Effect on Employees No matter what area of study a
person may choose to pursue, they will end up with a manager in some form or another. Whether it is

manager can be defined as a person responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a
company or similar organization (Grout, Fisher, 2011, p.103). In addition to Grout and Fisher s
definition of a manager, a manager oversees all events and ideas held by the organization. Based off of
the definition of a manager, it can be concluded that a manager has the most important say in what an
organization carries out. Due to the fact that the manager has the highest say, employees tend to

The holiday, La Tomatina, is a tradition that has gone on for generations. Spain is the main country
that celebrates it every year, but tens of thousands travel from all parts of the world to participate in it.
La Tomatina means tomato festival , and is very self explanatory from its definition. On the last
Wednesday of August, people throw over ripe tomatoes at one another the entire day, leaving people
drenched in tomato carnage, but in utter happiness as well. In all, more than 100 metric tons of
tomatoes are used in the festival! It is quite questionable of how such a holiday came to be. It was

As most would have assumed, tomatoes are eaten during the festival and are prepared in many ways
(simmered, fresh, crushed). Tomato sauce is also served with entrees such as eggs or any kind of meat.
There are even paella cooking contests, and a palo jabón , an event in which brave participants climb a
greased wooden pole all the way to the top, where there will be a leg of ham. The street fight with
tomatoes will only begin after these two events. There are some specific rules to follow when having a
gigantic food fight with tomatoes. For one, objects cannot be thrown that could cause harm to others.
This includes the tomatoes, which may only be thrown if they are soft or crushed. People during the
festival wear rugged and/or dirty clothing, and another rule states people cannot tear or rip clothing to
throw tomatoes at someone. Despite the number of rules that need to be followed, the festival is still
very fun. The food fight occurs between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. At the beginning of the food fight,
trucks haul all the tomatoes into the town, which are paid for at an inexpensive price. The firing of
water cannons signals the beginning of the festival, which is typically every man for himself . After a
few hours, the festival will end and no tomatoes can be thrown. As this point, fire trucks spray down
the streets to clean them. The people, unsurprisingly, quickly go to wash themselves (there

The Great Gatsby Lost Generation Analysis
Jay Gatsby, the protagonist in The Great Gatsby, is faced with the struggle of achieving his dream
against the reality of the world (Sanders 109). He acquired his wealth through bootlegging and
relations with corrupt individuals. However, he tries to preserve his innocence by recreating his past
with Daisy ( Fitzgerald F Scott ). The reality of the world leaves Gatsby with the feeling of emptiness
and desperation because his life was consumed with overwhelming wealth and a passionate devotion
to a relationship with Daisy, only to have it disappear (Dubose 75). Similar to the Lost Generation, at
the end of the novel Gatsby realizes the world is full of deception and cruelty, even after earning great
wealth ( Lost Generation ). A Lost Generation is defined as having developed the idiosyncratic and
personal manners and feeling emotionally and spiritually alienated from the previous generations
(Stegner 184). Jay Gatsby symbolizes the Lost Generation which F. Scott Fitzgerald connects to the
changing social attitudes such as wealth, love, and the corruption of innocence in The Great Gatsby.
Fitzgerald is a member of the Lost Generation and his life is portrayed through the character Gatsby.
Both of these individuals experienced the pain of lost love and crushed expectations because both
Fitzgerald and Gatsby seem to preserve a romantic state of mind in order to escape the painful reality
that they had lost the women they love (Sanders 109). Psychological and spiritual

As the paint brush dips into the paint and watching the brush the brush form perfect lines, knowing
that the art that is being created is what one is expressing. Art and design has been influencing our
lives since the dawn of the ages. Art has been created on cave walls, has been formed in architecture,
and continues to grow and expand. Art is very beautiful, but also is a matter of expression. Art can
mean many things such as love, concern, anger, desire, and politics. Two Chinese born ink artists by
the name of Zhang Daqain, and Hua Tunan have become well known traditional Chinese ink artists.
More known for his landscape designs, Zhang Daqain has incorporated splashes and pops of color in
these traditional looking drawings. Through the decades, other artists have learned traditional ink
drawings but have also developed other artistic ways to express who they are. For example, one artist,
Hua Tunan, is a young artist who has experimented with graffiti and in his favor, was a success. Both
artists are advocates for nature being their primary subjects. From mountainous ranges to flowers, to
detailed portraits of animals, these paintings bring awareness to people about the beauty on our planet.

even are CEOs. Some people believe that some of these achievements are because of examples that
come from literature that have led women to believe in, motivate, and stand up for themselves. In
literature the amount of the things that a woman protagonist can do has also changed. Back in the
1800s women characters, whether fictional or not, could not be portrayed as rebellious, working, or
even sexual beings. Of course there were some authors that did not follow these rules and they were
not being published. Others, instead, wrote their works in a way that would be accepted by society
rules, however, they were still making strong minded women protagonists. One of these very famous
authors is Kate Chopin. In every short story or novel her main character was a female. Not many
writers during the mid to late 19th century were bold enough to address subjects that Chopin took on.
Some of Chopin s work could not be published until years after her death because of the strong themes
that she knew would not be accepted in the world she lived in back then but she just wrote life as she
saw it. Chopins short stories are all very different but one thing they have in common is the

Mental Illnesses Are Becoming More And More Prevalent...
Background
Mental illnesses are becoming more and more prevalent among the population in the United States. In
2014, 1 in 5 adults were diagnosed with any mental illness (AMI) as evidence by statistics presented
by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (SAMHSA, 2015); of those 1 in 5 adults, 18 years
and older in the United States, accounts for 18.1% of the population, or 43.6 million people diagnosed
with depression and/ or anxiety (Kessler RC, Chiu WT, Demler O, Walters EE, 2005). From changes
in mood, to changes in thoughts and behaviors, mental illnesses are sought to be higher in adults ages
18 25 (SAMHSA, 2015).
The target population for this program proposal will be those who fall in to this specific age range (18
24). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to decrease numbers of those being diagnosed with a mental illness and reducing the number
of relapsed patients entering hospitalizations or partaking in substance use to self medicate, this course
teaches evidence based coping mechanisms.
Theoretical Framework
Applying the Health Belief Model (HBM) for this program is the most beneficial framework because
it gives students the facts of how students actually perceive themselves when it comes to mental
illnesses. Students will have the opportunity to learn and actively practice the life skills they are taught
while receiving ample amount of resources. Four of the primary constructs in the health belief model
can be depicted by engagement of students in the course. The constructs being evaluated are:
Perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Severity, Perceived Benefits, and Perceived Barriers (Coreil, J.,
2010). The cues of action and self efficacy are the additional concepts intertwine with the
aforementioned constructs (Coreil, J., 2010). Inevitably, having a required course for students to
complete prior to attending college, will better prepare them for life s stressful moments.
Being able to determine the perceived susceptibility and

Gold Coast Crime
Recent media attention has tended to indicate that there is a serious crime problem on the Gold Coast.
According to various sources through research and statistics, sexual assault is problematic on the Gold
Coast. Assaults are physical offensives of sexual nature, focused towards another person who does not
give consent, and is incapable of giving consent because of youth, or temporary/ permanent
incapacity. (week 5) Assaults include; rape, sexual assault, child molestation, bestiality, voyeurism,
necrophilia and prostitution. Sexual assault includes rape, unlawful sexual touching, sodomy, buggery,
oral sex, incest, carnal knowledge, assault with intent to rape and child molestation. (week 5) I chose
the sub group of sexual assault as my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drink spiking occurs when a person deliberately adds alcohol or another drug to a drink without the
knowledge of the person who will be drinking it. This means the person could become intoxicated
unexpectedly. Drinks are spiked for a number of reasons. These include amusement or to facilitate
sexual assault, rape or theft (Lievore). The couple was facing an eviction from their landlord regarding
loud noises and chaos caused on a weekend night. The couple had no idea about the scene they caused
and woke up to a complete blur. I had bruises and cuts on my body. Everything was upside down,
clothes were outside of cupboards, pictures had been thrown on the floor. The fiancé who experienced
identical memory gaps, was asked by his landlord to leave the apartment because of what he feared to
assume was a domestic violence case. Sexual assault is also commonly linked with drink spiking.
Estimates suggest that one third of drink spiking incidents are associated with a sexual attack
(Lievore). This couple was at a local bar on the Gold Coast called Waxy s. They believed that their
drinks were spiked and took tests to find out for sure. The blood tests confirmed that they had been
drugged and showed that they both tested positive to methamphetamine and tranquillizer
benzodiazepines. The landlord then let the couple stay trusting that something like this would not
happen again. Chances are the couple was drugged to either sexually assault the female, or to violently
assault the male. Crime is evidently a problem on the Gold Coast. About a week before this incident
the Gold Coast paramedics were called to a large spate of drug overdoses and incidents involving 21
people who had taken synthetic hallucinogen called N Bomb (Womens weekly). The Gold Coast most
categorically faces a problem with crime. Schoolies was approaching,

  • 2. Analysis Of The Soup Nazi By Larry David The famous episode from Seinfeld, The Soup Nazi , is loved and viewed by many. In this episode, both George Costanza (Jay Scott Greenspan) and Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld) go to a restaurant that supposedly has the best soup in the city , according to the locals. However, everyone calls the owner of the soup restaurant The Soup Nazi because of his hard, cold personality and his ability to refuse service to anyone who annoys him. The episode comically portrays the fear which The Soup Nazi induces on his customers and the willingness of his customers to come back just because his soup is so delicious (http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/04/the top 10 seinfeld episodes?page=2). This episode represents only a small sample of the countless comical and satirical works written by Larry David, the writer of the television series, Seinfeld. Larry David is a comedian as well as a satirist. He is in many Saturday Night Live (SNL) skits as Bernie Sanders, and was the co creator of the television series, Curb Your Enthusiasm. A common theme throughout his works is his ability to take everyday problems and blow them out of proportion. First performed in 1606 Macbeth is inspired by a story of the Scottish monarchy. A tragic hero is one who at the outset is not wholly good or bad but has a character fault that causes them to make tragic mistakes resulting in their eventual downfall. King Duncan is a virtuous king who always puts the needs of his subjects before the needs of himself, whereas Macbeth as King is solely concerned with his own needs. The three main causes of tragedy as identified by Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, are all contained within Macbeth . The first of these causes is revenge, which is shown by MacDuff as he sets out on a quest to avenge the murder of his kinsman Duncan. Secondly, a fall from greatness or De Casibus is clearly shown by Lady Macbeth, who at the start of the play is possibly the strongest character but throughout the course of the play degenerates into madness resulting in her suicide. Finally and most importantly of all ambition is clearly shown as the driving force behind the murders of Duncan and Banquo. By exploring revenge, De Casibus and ambition Shakespeare transforms Macbeth from a historical play into a tragedy. The tragedies of William Shakespeare often include a tragic hero. A tragic hero is one who brings about his own ruin and the ruin of those he loves. The tragic hero is not necessarily evil; he is simply human and has human flaws. Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Distributed Generations This chapter defines distributed generation (DG), briefly describes why it is useful and in the end mentions the problems associated with its connection to the grid. 1.1 What is distributed generation (DG)? Contrary to the traditional philosophy of power system design, which comprises of a large utility generator situated far away from the loads, the concept of DG requires the installation of smaller capacity generators close to the load. IEEE defines the generation of electricity as facilities sufficiently smaller than central plants, usually 10 MW or less, so as to allow interconnection at nearly any point in the power system, as Distributed Resources. Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) defines DG as generation from a few kilowatts up to 50 MW. International Energy Agency (IEA) defines DG as Power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The paralleling in DG will increase the short circuit current, which depends on many factors, such as the type of DG, operation mode, capacity, permeability rate and the method of interfacing with the system. This change will affect the original protection coordination of the network. • 24. Plato s Republic As A Guide Let me tell you about the perfect republic. First, I ll describe it to you using Plato s Republic as a guide. Then, I ll explain whether it is better to live in Plato s republic or in a timarchy, oligarchy, democracy, or a tyranny. Plato s books create an ideal city where there are the producers (farmers, craftsmen, etc.), the auxiliaries, also known as the warriors, and the guardians, they are the rulers of this city. Each of these groups must perform its job, and only that one job, and each must have the right amount of amount of power in relation to the other groups. This then brings us to the myth of metals, the guardians are gold, the auxiliaries are silver, and the producers are iron and bronze (415a). The reason why the guardians are gold is because they are the most precious and revered, and the quality of the metal or soul goes down the farther you go down the class system. • 27. Analysis Of The Book Angles And Outcasts The book, Angles and Outcasts, is compiled of works by hearing authors from the nineteenth century and the twentieth century, as well as a chapter of works by authors who themselves are Deaf. Each of these stories provides a unique perspective on deafness and how the Deaf people are seen by the rest of the world. There is a common theme present through the nineteenth and twentieth century works; exaggerated qualities of the Deaf person and a misfortune so great, that it overshadows anything good or human about the person. In the nineteenth century, the Deaf people have exaggerated qualities such as beauty or strength that are built to be something greater than human ability, but their deafness is such a misfortune, that it negates those exaggerated qualities and often shows the deaf people as being something other than human, an object of pity. In the twentieth century, the main theme of misfortune being so strong that the deaf people are no longer seen as human equivalent, but rather a spectacle to dump pity onto. In both centuries, Deaf people are written about in ways which portray them with traits that could not be possible and shows their deafness as something deserving of such grand pity. This is a form of oppression which we still see today, but it was much more prevalent in years past. • 30. Truths In The Preface Of Animal Farm By George Orwell Many people chose not to believe the reality behind Soviet communism and all of the terrible things that were happening in Russia when Joseph Stalin was in control. In the Preface of Animal Farm, Russell Baker stated that Orwell was that political figure that all politicians feared (Baker, ix) and that he insisted on the truth even when the truth was most inconvenient (Baker, ix). Russell Baker s assertion is proven to be true in multiple spots throughout the book. Some events that happen in George Orwell s book, prove certain truths to be factual because they are based off of things that actually happened with Soviet Communism. By proving these to be true, politicians fear him because he makes people open their eyes to truths about the world they would rather be blind to instead. The first truth George Orwell tells in his book Animal Farm, is that brainwashing in the form of propaganda works. He shows this truth when Napoleon uses Squealer as a form of propaganda that promotes himself and makes everything else look bad in the eyes of the animals on the farm. Squealer uses logos when talking to the animals telling them of yet another lie about Snowball, Jones s shot only grazed him. I could show you this in his own writing, if you were able to read it (Orwell, 90). It is hard to believe that most real world 12 year old children would be capable of making the same good choices when left to their own devices. Granted, Huck was accustomed to a life of neglect, which would feasibly enable him to deal better with the atrocities and demands of his particular situation, but the sadness lies in the fact that he had become accustomed to such a life in the first place. In today s world, children are seen as individuals who have certain rights as human beings, and who are worthy of external (or non family) protection. This has not always been the case. For the better part of the 19th century, there were no rules or regulations in effect that prevented the mistreatment of children, since they were thought to be completely under the control of their immediate family (University of Delaware). He created a very dramatic scene of a thunderstorm that moves across a lake with a mountain in the background. There is a stark contrast between light and shadows. He uses thin, delicate lines to show the craggy mountain. Expressive lines and points give the boulders and pine trees texture. The shapes of the mountains and the branches of the trees rise up to the heavens, giving the piece a feeling of dynamic power and energy uncontrollable by mankind. The horizontal lines of the lake give a sense of space. There is a path with a curve that can imply soft, shallow lines that leads the eye to the forefront of the painting. Modern Heroine By Kate Chopin Modern Heroine A heroine to me is often an average woman in an unexpected situation, which, despite the odds being piled against her, she usually overcomes in the end. In today s culture, women have overcome many difficulties to be able to work, teach, vote, have a voice in the government, and even are CEOs. Some people believe that some of these achievements are because of examples that come from literature that have led women to believe in, motivate, and stand up for themselves. In literature the amount of the things that a woman protagonist can do has also changed. Back in the 1800s women characters, whether fictional or not, could not be portrayed as rebellious, working, or even sexual beings. Of course there were some authors that did not follow these rules and they were not being published. Others, instead, wrote their works in a way that would be accepted by society rules, however, they were still making strong minded women protagonists. One of these very famous authors is Kate Chopin. In every short story or novel her main character was a female. Not many writers during the mid to late 19th century were bold enough to address subjects that Chopin took on. Some of Chopin s work could not be published until years after her death because of the strong themes that she knew would not be accepted in the world she lived in back then but she just wrote life as she saw it.
