the Cassette tape was introduced, which became popular very quickly. The 1980s saw a
revolution in music technology, which was a huge upgrade in the music industry. Personal
stereos enabled people to play music on cassette tapes and listen to it through headphones
wherever they went. Many people began listening to music while walking, travelling on public
transport or exercising. In the late 1980s, compact discs (CDs) began to replace vinyl records.

Capitalism Vs. Communism And Communism
Necati Ucev Mr. Raia Creative Writing 1 5 May 2015 Capitalism vs Communism Throughout
history, people have tested many different political systems have a better society. The most
common political systems that people have tested are monarchy, oligarchy, theocracy, aristocracy
and democracy. I will talk about capitalism and communism in this research paper. Both those
systems are created to change the economic situation. There have been a huge debate about

Importance and Need of ETL
ETL Process
Extraction, Transformation, and Loading processes are responsible for the operations taking place
in the back stage of a data warehouse architecture. In a broader aspect, initially the data is
extracted from the source data stores which could be On Line Transaction Processing or Legacy
system, files of any formats, web pages or any other documents like spreadsheets or text
documents. In this step, only the data which is different from the previous execution of ETL
process (newly inserted, updated) gets extracted from the sources. Next, the extracted data is sent
to Data Staging Area where the data is transformed and cleaned. Finally, the data is loaded to the
central data warehouse and all its counterparts e.g., data marts and views. (Kabiri Chiadmi 2013,
p.1)
Need of ETL Process
ETL is a critical component in DW environment. Indeed, it is widely recognized that building
ETL processes, during DW project, are expensive regarding time and money. ETL consume up
to 70% of resources. Interestingly reports and analyses a set of studies proving this fact. In other
side, it is well known too, that the accuracy and the correctness of data, which are parts of ETL
responsibility, are key factors of the success or failure of DW projects. (Kabiri Chiadmi 2013, p.1)

Keynesian Theory And The Difference Between Real And...
Economics is not only useful to those who use it to determine future outcomes for the world, but it
is also an important part of society s everyday life. We unknowingly understand concepts derived
from economics when we are trying to make choices of what to buy, what to invest in, when to be
conservative about spending, and much more. Understanding the Keynesian theory and the
difference between real and nominal variables may not directly affect each other, but both play a
part in how we relate economics to our world.
Keynesian theory is a concept developed by John Maynard Keynes, in which it is believed that
governments should intervene with the economy and how it is dealt. Keynesian economists believe
that saving beyond planned investments is a very serious problem that encourages recession. If
saving goes beyond investments, there will not be enough demand to purchase the goods and
services that the economy is producing. Therefore, leading into a recession, or worse a depression.
Keynesian economists believe that a government stimulus is more effective at boosting aggregate
demand than a tax cut because they believe that government intervention is a way to stabilize an
economy.
When governments have programs to benefit people who are doing specific jobs, it will bring that
money back into the economy, unlike tax cuts. If the spending is supported by tax increases then
this will reduce people s incomes after tax, which will ultimately lead them to reduce their

Childbirth And The Italian Renaissance
Childbirth and Childbearing in Renaissance Italy for upper status woman, was far different than
what childbearing is compared to today s standards. In renaissance Italy it was said that woman
only had one purpose and that purpose was to have many legitimate babies, especially for the
nobility and upper status couples. From having these babies, the family could inherit a lot of
wealth (King, M. L., 2003). This differs greatly in todays society, as now woman s primary
function is not only to produce children. Woman today are seen as equals to men, and have a
larger significance than just having their husbands children. Childbearing in the Renaissance
was not as easy or as safe as it is today either, as we will further discuss. This paper will explain
the role of child birthing and bearing in the Italian Renaissance, everything from mortality rates,
to wet nurses and this differs from today s society. As mentioned before, the main role for
woman in the renaissance was to produce children for her husband and handle household affairs,
this was proven in the document by Alberti when he had said Furthermore, I made it a rule never
to speak with her of anything but household matters or of the children. Of these matters I spoke a
great deal to her...(Famiglia, D., 1996, pg 40). Thus showing the wife s role was greatly dependent
on her house and children. It was also important, especially in the nobility, that the children the wife
gave birth to were her husband s children. Her role

3. Plan out the video and audio size
You should note that internet users do not like watching and listening to extremely long videos
and audios. You can use prototyping software. It will help you to plan out your video and audio
sizes efficiently to meet your clients needs. You can also output the sizes of videos and audios
accordingly using Adobe Edge Reflow.
4. Include the width and also the height attributes in your code
The attributes in your code should match with the size of your audios and videos. You should note
that, if the width and the height are not compatible with the size of the video, it will be scaled. The
video may appear ragged if the scaling is larger than its quality. On the other hand, if the height and
width are smaller, the quality of the video may not suffer, but you may encounter challenges when
uploading it online.
5. You should use the scripts and elements that are compatible with your site
Before launching video scripts or HTML audios on your site, you should validate your code.
Additionally, your elements should be necessary on your site. You should remember that your
audience wants to hear relevant things or videos on your site. If you focus on marketing, you should
post essential and unbiased scripts frequently.

Theme Of Cat In The Rain
Different Usage of Words Evokes Longing Differently
Longing for something, whether it is love, family etc. consumes a person s mind and actions over
time. To convey such emotion in prose or poetry, the arrangement of words means everything and
must be exact, for emotional impact on the reader. Thus, even poetry and prose by the same author
can end up with different word choices and narratives, in order to convey longing as an emotion.
This paper will analyse Cat in the Rain (Ernest Hemingway) where a woman s desire for a cat
shows her longing for certain things in life; and Killed Paive (Ernest Hemingway) a narration about
lost feelings between the narrator and the addressed person. The paper will examine how longing
for someone is expressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where the narrator in Cat in the Rain keeps a distance from the character and allows variation in
interpretation for the reader, the narrator in Killed Paive is the protagonist, who includes the reader
in the narrative through the usage of you . Thus, the two narrators not only approach the reader in
two different ways through the tenor, the narrators also have different viewpoints overall.
Cat in the Rain displayed the causes of the characters behaviour, mainly the American wife, Killed
Paive displayed the inner thought of the protagonist, excluding the causes. Meaning Killed Paive
attempted to generate an emotional reaction upon the reader, through its word choice in the
description of the feeling longing in the narrator. In contrast, the narrator in Cat in the Rain focused
on the setting, whilst the words said by the characters display the influence longing has on their
emotions.
Where the two texts have similarities are in addition to the topic of longing, is the usage of
metonymy. Both texts chose to use an entity which projected the feelings felt by the protagonist.
Where Cat in the Rain used the cat as a literal physical entity, expressing the inner feelings of the
American wife, Killed Paive chose soul. Though the soul is not a physical entity, it nevertheless,
functions as the reflection of the emotional turmoil felt by the

time? Why?
We suggest it is a good time but not a good idea for Jules Kroll to enter the credit ratings business.
In order to know whether it is right for him to do so, we have used SWOT analysis to see the
feasibility of this plan.
Strength Jules B. Kroll the leader of Kroll Bond Rating Agency, is the formidable strength for
them to enter this new industry by his successful business career and abundant experience as an
entrepreneur. Few people ever penetrate the dark side of money, but Jules Kroll is one of them.

So it is also attractive for Jules Kroll to take this opportunity to enter the credit rating industry. In
addition, the issuer pays model, which used by the big three rating agencies, lets companies shop
around for the best ratings, putting pressure on the agencies to inflate their grades. As a result, it is
very difficult to argue that they can adequately represent the users side. Therefore, Jules Kroll wants
to use another model that can assign unbiased and reliable ratings.
Threat The leading ratings agencies, Moody s, Standard Poor s and Fitch a triumvirate some liken
to an oligopoly, almost dominate the whole market. Their long history operations, great reputation
and customers loyalty in the industry lead them incomparable to new entrants. Furthermore, Kroll
also faces competition from new entrants like Meredith Whitney, a banking analyst who is getting
into the ratings business, and Morningstar, of mutual fund fame, and the Chinese municipal rating
agency Dagong with huge capital. Therefore, it is tough for Kroll to break into this new industry
where the three dominant incumbents have 97% of all ratings.
In conclusion, we could say it is a good time for Kroll to enter credit rating business since the big
three agencies lost considerable investor confidence during the financial crisis, and that the sector
is ripe for new blood. However, based on our SWOT analysis, we don t think it

What Did The Muslim Brotherhood Moderate From The 1980 S...
In early 2011 the world watched as Egypt s youth revolted against their abusive president,
Muhammed Hosni El Sayed Mubarak. This revolution sparked much political and social debate
around the world, about what was next for the Egyptians. With the ousting of Mubarak, the Muslim
Brotherhood saw it s chance to run for political power and therefore began their campaign. Before
looking at the Muslim Brotherhoods role in the 2011 Revolution and the elections that would
follow, their moderation as an Islamist organization must be examined. In order to do so, this
paper will examine to what extent did the Muslim Brotherhood Moderate from the 1980 s 2000 s?
In Jillian Schwedler s article, Faith in Moderation: Islamist Parties in Jordan and Yemen, she
explains moderation as, when a movement moves from a closed and rigid worldview to one that is
more open and tolerant of alternative perspectives and encounters ideological change (Schwedler
3). Although throughout her analysis she discusses the inclusion moderation hypothesis, I will not
be integrating this into my paper. I will argue that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egyptmoderated
between the 1980 s 2000 s because of their evolution of ideologies on minority religious groups,
women and the diversification of issues. I will be doing this by discussing their moderation on
minority religious groups, women, and the diversification of issues within the state. The religious
group I will be focusing on is the Copts, or Coptic Christians.

Long-Term Limits
When determining how being a politician has changed since the term limits has been enacted.
You have to look at the term limits effects on chair s experience, chairs as gatekeepers, committee
conflict itself, committee chairs as conflict managers, chairs as substantive experts, committee
member experience and expertise, and information gathering by the committees. First, is the
chair s experience, it has dropped dramatically since term limits. Prior to term limits most chairs
were experienced veterans of the House. Committee chairs in the 1997 1998 Democratically
controlled House had an average of 8.9 years of prior service (approximately 4.5 sessions) and the
most experienced chair had served for 13 previous sessions. In 1995 1996, when... Show more

Which is hard to do, because the chair at best might only have 6 years to serve in office and that s it
and then they are gone. So, the chair in essence has less control, because they have less experience,
which leads them to be less influential. In fact, in the term limited House more than one third of our
respondents indicated that the party leaders or caucus exerted influence over the chair s agenda
compared to less than one sixth of the pre term limits respondents. This further supports the findings
that for second term chairs both institutional changed as well as their lack of experience contribute
to their decline in control over their committees. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) However, control is
concentrated at higher levels in House leadership hierarchy. In addition, the party leader and
governor increased after term limits. The party leader itself is going to dangle money towards
legislators to reelection. As for the governor, in the state of Michigan, it has a strong governor to
begin with but after term limits, they become even stronger in their position. Third, the committee
conflict, the sources of conflict increased after term limits. In Michigan, regions of the state
compete with each other for money, government projects, and other benefits; and budget constraints
can intensify the competition between regions. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) Additionally, less

that you won t have anyone to drive you to a certain place that you need to be based on

Ancient Greek Culture
What is your impression of the ancient Greeks who composed these stories? What
generalizations might you make about their culture? Based on these stories I can assume they
highly value the arts, music, drama, poetry, and more. This is because the Greek people and
gods tended to favor those who show skill and interest in at least one of these fields, Orpheus and
Odysseus being an example. The importance of the arts is also demonstrated by the prominent role
the Muses and their children have in the myths. The Greeks also seem to value humility and

Palestine and Israel
Our views of world conflicts such as war are influenced by the part of the world in which we live.
When exploring media coverage of discord, it is important to think about where the author is from
and how it has influenced the way he/she has portrayed disharmony. Reports on a world conflict
can express extremely different views depending on the social values and understandings of the
writers. One must read articles that address the issue of war with cultural relativism by taking into
account the local values and historical experiences of the writer. By neglecting this approach, a
reader may be persuaded to believe biased and often untrue facts. When researching the war in the

The Palestinians were convinced that this was a deliberate murder. Three days later a young
Palestinian picked up a stone from the ground and threw it at an Israeli patrol. His friends followed

Palestinian intellectuals interpreted this action as an attempt of their youth to shake themselves

generations Israel s domination of Jerusalem had gone largely unchallenged. The fighting

In 1993 the international community attempted to find a permanent solution by creating the

Big Influence On American Culture Essay
3
In the past couple years, there has been a noticeable uprise of comic items like movies, books
and merchandise. The comics have a big influence on American culture ever since the 1940 s.
Ever since then comics have an impact on the way people do, and see things. An example is the
first comic cover of Captain America punching Hitler in the face. That cover showed that anyone
could be a hero and that it was reflecting current events of the time by showing that America was
in World War 2. Comic book superheroes have made a huge difference on what American culture is
ever since their first appearance in 1938 and that impact can be seen in the literature, business, and
Film industry. In the 1930s, there was an idea to publish books that brought words with picture to
life and to reflect the era the audience was living in. 1935 came around and the first comic book
character made his first debut. Ever since then, more and more characters like Superman, Batman,
Captain America and Spider Man appeared and those characters started to reflect their respective
era s problems. An example is Captain America fighting hitler, Spiderman working as a
photographer, or Superman working at a newspaper company are jobs that were very high and
competitive is the 1940s. Those larger than life heroes and characters have always been relatable

Confirmation Research Paper
There are many things to consider when preparing for Confirmation. Getting confirmed is not an
easy thing to do, and it should definitely not be something that you do without equipping yourself
beforehand. When you are a child, your parents make the decision of entering you into the church.
They also may have forced you to go to mass every Sunday to receive the gift of the Eucharist.
After you have been Confirmed, it is no longer up to your parents to make those decisions for
you. It is also, vital for you to surround yourself with good role models that want the best for you.
You must have someone, other than your parents, to rely on when times get tough. You should
also have a good patron saint to model your life after. Additionally, you should be reading
scripture, to remind yourself of the word of God. These may seem like small things to think about
before you get Confirmed. However, these actions play a crucial role in keeping your relationship

Psychoanalytical Theories That Show How Healthy Development
Christos Vagenas
Azusa Pacific University The stages of development are psychoanalytical theories that show how
healthy development in an individual should be from the age of adolescence to adult hood as
described in the Invitation to the Life Span by Kathleen Berger (Berger, 2010). I interviewed an
eighteen year old female who is currently a freshman at a four year university, the youngest in her
family. In addition, I interviewed a man in his early fifties who has two kids and a wife. This
individual owns a business that he started thirty years ago. These interviews and responses coincide

including how their faith has been a key factor in their development.

individuals behavior and knowledge is emphasized through their observations from birth to adult

still has time to find out who she is and what she wants to be. However, she still is dependent on
her parents, and living under their roof and finances. Thus, resulting in her not having the full

Two anoles on different islands can have similar traits as long as their ecological niches are
similar, however geographic isolation was the cause to have 3 different species evolving. They
might have evolved by having swam, floated on natural rafts, or the islands may have been
connected at one point. Therefore, lizards on the same island are more closely related to each
other than lizards that have similar body shapes and live in the same type of habitat. Lizards
from the same island are more closely related to one another than to similar looking lizards from
other islands. For example, a grass bush anole from Puerto Rico is more related a trunk ground
anole also from Puerto Rico, than it is to a grass bush anole from Hispaniola. This shows that the
same type of anole lizards evolve independently on each of the islands. However, there was a
point in time whereas the anole species from the four Caribbean islands all evolved from one

The Bank Robbery By Steven Schutzman Summary
The Bank Of Affection Love; it s a strange and peculiar concept to the human mind. It has the
power to affect one s persona drastically; it may make the meekest individual strong and the most
ardent person frail. Many falsely accuse the power of endearment with a misnomer, often referred
to as lust. The term lust is defined as an intense desire. Between the crosshairs of loveand lust, lies
an entity that is commonly seen in many folly love struck youth. This strange facet of endearment
is best exemplified in the flash fiction story The Bank Robbery, written by Steven Schutzman. The

The eerie affinity between the two counterparts is best exemplified by the various types of
figurative language used by Steven Schutzman. Schutzman states the teller, a young woman of
about twenty five, felt the lights of her streets go on for the first time (Schutzman 1), evidently
describing the emotional impact the robber had on the teller. Figuratively, this statement is an
implicit comparison between the lights that had lined her streets and the teller s discovery of love.
This statement also foreshadows the creation of a turbulent relationship between the two
counterparts, since it depicts a love at first sight moment that conclusively suggests that the folly
lovers will base their romance on short term desires rather than true love. In the eleventh paragraph,
the robber is seen stating Ah money...you are just like love (Schutzman 1) , evidently proving his
lustful adoration towards materialistic facets. Schutzman implies, through this statement, that this
is an example of a metaphor, since it is an explicit comparison between money and love. The author
uses this metaphor, in order to epitomize the evident unstable romance that is created between the
bank robber and the teller. This statement indirectly implies the fact that the relationship between
the two counterparts is formed due to their lustful momentary desires. In order

Legalization of Same-Sex Marriages
In our time the traditional viewpoint that we have previously exerted in relationship to the
definition of a family is being challenged more than ever before. Regardless of whether or not
that is through grandparents raising children, foster children and adopted children being raised in
families, single parenting, interracial couples, etc. One of the most talked about issues of our
time is the legality of same sex union/marriages. The standpoint that many take on this issue is
one rooted very deeply in traditions and personal beliefs. There is a constant conflict of opinions.
However, research consistently that relationships between families are tied together based off of
the quality of the relationship and child outcomes compared to the sexual orientation of the
parents. In every individual, there are desires that are present to someday include a child into your

whenever you so wish as long as your circumstances are right. For those that identify as being gay

Stereochemical Dependence for dSp
Interestingly, studies from our laboratory and others have demonstrated a stereochemical
dependence for dSp processing by enzymes in ODNs. The first instance of a dSp diastereomer
difference was reported from our laboratory when Klenow Fragment (exo ) was allowed to insert
dATP opposite the isomers for which dSp1 containing ODNs were found to be the more
favorable substrate for insertion and bypass.32 This study was extended to in vivo experiments
by Neeley, et al. to include pol II and pol IV, also showing more favorable bypass kinetics for
dSp1.34 As further evidence for in vivo stereochemical dependency in dSp processing,
Henderson, et al. utilized the restriction endonuclease and postlabeling assay (REAP) to
determine the mutation profiles for dSp1 and dSp2 in Escherichia coli.28 In the sequence context

and dG→dC transversion mutations for dSp1 and dSp2. In subsequent experiments, Delaney, et
al. showed a somewhat different dependence of mutation profiles on the dSp diastereomers in the
sequence context 5 (TSpG) 3 using the REAP and competitive replication of adduct bypass

internal and external point of view, which was highly beneficial to properly analyze their upcoming
problem within the company.
Unfortunately, this case study highlighted a point in time where Coors was not performing well.
The first visible sign of their struggles was in Quiz 4, which highlighted Coors income per barrel
drastic deterioration from 1977 to 1985. The charts and graphs included at the back of the case
study gave a graphic representation of the relatively low market share Coors held in 1977 and how

The Effect Of Polymer Membrane On The Engineering And...
Imaging proposal Introduction: Polymer membranes are gaining an ever growing attention in the
engineering and science disciplines [P.D.Chapman, T.Oliveira, A.G.Livingston, K.Li, Membranes

Analysis Of The Book Bastard Out Of Carolina By...
The book, Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison, is about relationships between family
members, the social class, white trash , and abuse. In the book, there is a young girl by the
name of Ruth Anne Boatwright, but goes by the name of Bone. Bone s mother had her at the
young age of 17 years old. Her whole life, Bone, didn t have a steady father figure. Anney
Boatwright, Bone s mother, married a man and out of that relationship, her sister was born.
Soon after Anney married him, he died in a tragic car accident. The next man she married was
Glen Waddell. This is when the problems came. Glen Waddell had some issues of his own and
throughout the book, he took it out on Bone. At this point, Bone and Daddy Glen s relationship
throughout the book took a turn and their relationship consisted of physical, sexual, and
emotional abuse. In the book, Daddy Glen would physically abuse Bone for nothing. Bone
never did anything wrong to him to deserve what he did to her. Bone and Daddy Glen never got
along from the beginning. Daddy Glen s reputation for a hot temper made people very careful
how they talked to him (Bastard Out of Carolina 55). Glen had a temper and when he got mad, he
would take it out on Bone. Daddy Glen looked at me standing there. I know how much your
mamma loves you, he said, putting his hand on my arm, squeezing tight. When he let me go, there
was a bruise, and Mama saw it right away. Glen, you don t know your own strength! No. He was

Anemospili Minoan Site Analysis
The temple of Anemospilia is located at the northern end of Mount Iuktas, overlooking arable
land and modern day Heraklion, with extensive views both to the east and the west. The site was
excavated by J. Sakellarakis in 1979, and given its small size, turned out to be one of the most
controversial excavations to have taken place in Crete.
The building is unusual for a Minoan site in that it is more symmetrical and less labyrinthine than
most Minoan remains. The simple design consists of three rectangular rooms in a row, and a
corridor or antechamber running the length of the three rooms to the north of the building. There is
no other example of such a building from the Minoan Mycenean periods. However, Dennis Hughes
points out in his book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along the south wall there was a bench which may have been used both for sitting on and for
placing cult objects. The most interesting find in this room was a pair of larger than life size clay
feet and ash from a burnt wooden object. This evidence suggests that there was originally a large
statue here. The body would have been made of wood and slotted onto two sticks at the top of
the clay feet. The body would have been dressed in material and the feet would not have been
visible. It is possible that the statue originally stood on the bench next to the only piece of bare
rock which intruded into the building, deliberately allowed to do so as it represented sacred earth .
The eastern room was where bloodless ritual ceremonies took place. Along the south wall there
was a stepped altar. The finds here were smaller in size than in the central room and included two
small bronze boxes similar in design to others found at Mycenae and in the Mycenaean royal
burial at Tholos Tomb A in Phourni cemetery near Archanes. Large bowls were placed on the
stepped altar and it is known that these would have been used for offerings of agricultural produce
fruit, crops, vegetables, wine and

Driverless Car History
Uber s driverless car is a new step on auto history. People hold different view about the driverless
car. Some of them think it is a great invention because it could help a city to change its
stereotyped image, like the mayor of Pittsburgh(2016, Kang). At the same time, the regular cars
have many issues caused by Uber s drivers, such as assaulting/harassing female customers, even
kidnapping (2014, PICCHI). S[BT2] urely, pessimists opine driverless cars do not have human s
moral rules to judge various situations (2017, O brien). Self driving car would create considerable
economic or political profits to Pittsburgh. Uber invested a substantial of money to build Pittsburgh
which helps this city to get out of the shadow of Rust Belt (2016,

The Role Of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome ( Pcos )
EPIDEMIOLOGY
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder that affects 4% to 12% of
women of childbearing age.1 The proportion of individuals in a population with PCOS depends on
the diagnostic criteria.2 According to the criteria implemented by the European Society for Human
Reproduction and Embryology/American Society for Reproductive Medicine, PCOS is as great as
15% to 20%.2 As stated in The National Institute of Health Office of Disease Prevention Report,
PCOS impacts about 5 million females of reproductive age in United States.3 The identification and
management of the disease is estimated to cost $4 billion annually to the US health care system.3
As such, PCOS presents a major economic burden.

ETIOLOGY AND PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
PCOS is an oligogenic disorder that has a heritable factor of approximately 70%.3 Both genetic and
environmental factors contribute to the phenotype of the disease.4 The pathophysiology of PCOS
consists of defects in the hypothalamic pituitary axis, secretion of insulin and the function of the
ovary.3 Although, the cause of PCOS is an on going topic of research, it has been linked to insulin
resistance and elevated androgen levels that contribute to hormonal imbalance.4 It is estimated
that 60% 80% of women with PCOS, show insulin resistance and this percentage increases to 95%
of women who are obese.8 Insulin resistance is a cause as well as an exacerbating factor for the
development of PCOS.3 Insulin resistance contributes to metabolic disturbances, obesity and type 2
diabetes, as well as increased androgens, cardiovascular risks and anovulation.1
Insulin aids in regulation of ovarian function and overproduction of insulin causes the ovaries to
produce high amounts of androgens.9 High levels of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH)
stimulate the ovarian thecal cells to produce a greater amount of androgens such as 17
hydroprogesterone, testosterone and progesterone.9 Furthermore, thecal cells contain a higher level
of cytochrome P450 11A, CYP17 and 3 HSD2 genes.9 Increased androgens stimulate visceral

South China Sea Essay
The South China Sea is extremely a significant body of water which lies south of mainland China,
east of Vietnam and Cambodia, west of the Philippines, and encompasses hundreds of mostly
uninhabited small atolls, cays, islands, and sandbars, all of which their soverenty is heavily
contested. The South China Sea covers a maritime area of 3.5 million square kilometers (Guoqiang,
2015), which China makes claim to the nine dotted line, which is just over 2 million square
kilometers, according to the China Institute of International Studies. The South China Seais the
second most used sea lane in the world and over 10 million barrels of crude oil a day are shipped
through the sea lane. More than half of the world s annual merchant fleet tonnage passes through
these choke points, and a third of all maritime traffic worldwide (Kaplan, 2014, 5). The Southeast
Asian region is also home to almost two billion people, roughly 24% of the world s population,
most of who are reliant on the flourishing fisheries in the South China Sea.
The South China Sea consists of over 250 islands, atolls, cays, reefs, and sandbars in the South
China Sea; very few of the islands have any natural water supply. Most of the islands have no
indigenous inhabitants, but offer flourishing fishing grounds, an abundance of sea life, such as fish,
animals and vegetation, and also may contain significant oil and natural gas reserves. Several states
borders on the South China Sea including Brunei, China,

Adoration Of The Magi Analysis
The art piece that caught my attention was at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. The piece is
called The Adoration of the Magi, painted by Girolamo de Carpi. The Holy Family and the Three
Magi s are illustrated in the painting. They seem to be sitting outside on the ground behind a
home made of brick. A sense of space and perception is created because in the distance, behind
the people in the painting there is a beautiful view of a mountain and the sun in the sky far from
where the people are. In the artwork, de Carpi paints clothes on each person besides baby Christ,
and the clothing differ in color; there is red, green, yellow, blue. The colors seemed somewhat
bright, in a way indicating that the painting is representing a happy time. Also painted are horses
depicted behind a short wall, next to the horses seems to be a servant giving one of the Magis a
vessel of some sort.
The idea of depicting this story from the Christian bible wasn t a new one, there are countless
paintings depicting this same story, although, only one of the four gospels of the Bible actually
mentions it. The story can originally be found in Matthew 2, saying that after Jesus was born, wise
men came to Jerusalem from the east. They were looking for the child after seeing a star that
meant the birth of the King of the Jews. When the King at the time, King Herod, heard of the mens
search, he was curious and wanted to know more about his possible competitor. It was believed by
his scribes and priests

Rose Lilywhite Case Study
I have reviewed and summarized the provided medical records for Rose Lilywhite. I did find
inconsistencies concerning different accident dates, however, those can be explained by a simple
typing error. Additionally, I located other discrepancies scattered throughout the medical records.
My concerns and comments are outlined below. 1.Dr. Larry Swan mentions Greater Valley Clinic
charts as a source of information. We do not have those records. Greater Valley Clinic, March 15,
2005, page 32 2.During the appointment with Dr. Swan, Rose states her head had hit the

how much time has passed and her physical findings, there is permanency to her injuries.
Turnblad Spine Clinic, January 11, 2006, page 69 14.Dr. Turnblad prescribed Rose Ultram on
January 11, 2006. There is no mention of this medication when she had provided you her
medications. Turnblad Spine Clinic, January 11,2006, page 69 Rose has made statements that
are not entirely true when speaking with her treating physicians. Whether is was purely
accidental on her part because she didn t fully understand her diagnosis, or if she was trying to
be deceptive, but either way that could be very disastrous for her case. Consequently, Rose does
not look like a very reliable source, and I fear the jury will not believe her. The missing medical

The Apales, Mumps, MeaslesSyncine And Exercines
Have you ever thought about how much a single lie could affect humanity for decades? That is
exactly what was started in 1998 by Dr. Andrew Wakefield. He and a panel of a dozen other
scientists conducted a study to test for a connection between the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
vaccine and a predisposition to behavioral regression and pervasive developmental disorders,
including autism. Published on the 28th of February 1998 in The Lancet (Lancet1), their study
showed there was a direct correlation between administration of the MMR vaccineand onset of
symptoms of autism or regression of previously learned skills (NCBI).
However, there were a couple of problems. Primarily, Wakefield failed to disclose two different
conflicts of interest; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite all the evidence to the contrary, Wakefield still publicly advocates against vaccines. He is at
the forefront of the anti vaccination movement and has the support of many groups like
Generation Rescue; which is commonly associated with Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg.
When the organization s founder JB Handley was asked if he would believe what the doctors
were saying about his son s autism diagnosis, he replied: there wasn t a chance in hell I was going
to believe what these people were telling me (Handley). Not surprisingly, according to the Safe
Vaccination Guide produced by Generation Rescue, although most of the studies on vaccines have
not found a direct correlation between the MMR and conditions, such as autism, there is still a
strong lack of research in this area (GR; page 4). In an apparent attempt to misrepresent facts, their
information completely ignores any studies contradicting their position; including the list of 25
articles compiled by the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC); complete with source data from the
NCBI.
Understandably, starting with a disease that is so misunderstood and mysterious only adds to the
anti vaccination movement. Compounding their belief is the insurgence of autism diagnoses in the
80s and 90s, of which most people attribute to the increase in vaccines. What most people do not
know is that in the early 1980s a researcher named Lorna Wing

Jazz Music Analysis
This week s lecture on jazz music was both informative and interesting. Dr Louise Jenson raised
many thought provoking topics, that both built on and challenged my understanding of the genre.
Prior to the lecture, I had my own preconceptions of what jazz is and isn t, and I am pleased to say
that my mindset has broadened after listening to Louise speak. The examples that were shown and
referred to in the lecture immediately painted a picture of just how comprehensive the jazzgenre can
be, and demonstrated the current challenges of defining jazz. Based on the content of both the
lecture and the reading, I think that the history of jazz is relevant to understanding jazz as a genre,
however I believe that it is also important to acknowledge that

Ethical Issues In The Military
The Military has a strong and robust history of ethical education, professionalism, and leadership
training. In fact the military ethos is grounded in the ethical virtues of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless
service, honor, personal courage, and integrity. Military ethics are based on a culture of high
standards for personal conduct, and in many cases the military holds its members to higher
standards than others in society, including those charged to oversee the military itself.
During its history the U.S. military has continuously reinforced and trained its leaders in ethics. In
fact many professional military officers achieve advanced degrees from Command and Staff
Colleges, NPS, or JPME where these issues are covered explicitly. So the organization does... Show

We have ethical responsibilities to patients that are based on a long history of legal, moral, and
professional codes. Although we are called upon to follow orders, sometimes we must exercise
independent judgment when faced with ethical challenges. The Defense Health Board, acting under
authority of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, sought to address many of these
issues in their work, Ethical Guidelines and Practices for U.S. Military Medical Professionals
Report. The Board stressed that oversimplified expressions such as mixed agency or dual loyalty
did not accurately capture the complexity of situations that military medical professionals encounter
during wartime. They felt that basic human rights violations, including torture, inhumane treatment,
and experimentation without consent, can never be justified. Dr. Edmund Pellegrino, MD, a
prominent bioethicist and former Chairmen of the President s Council on Bioethics, has
emphasized that medical ethics begins and ends in the patient physician relationship and that there

Alzheimer s Job Application Essay Sample
Alzheimer s was only a medical term known to me for several years. I did not have the slightest

when my grandmother was diagnosed with this debilitating disease. At times, she was walking
barefooted on the road in chilling winter and at another, she undressed before people. Watching her
slow deterioration was distressing. Gradually she transformed into a mute, emaciated and cranky
individual. I felt helpless. Due to this personal experience, my interest to study the complexities of
the brain increased substantially and I made up my mind to pursue a career to bring about tangible
change in the lives of such diseased people. In medical school, while we studied basic neuronal
pathways and anatomical structures of the brain, I began to regularly visit the Neurology

Justness Of Corporal Punishment
Since the ancient human times, corporal punishment has been one of the most popular methods
parents have used on enforcing their tutelage onto their children. Corporal punishment is defined as
the physical punishment that parents use on their children to enforce rules. The act is seen as
something of the past in 48 countries around the world, but for Canada. This is because they still
have not resolved it in their legal systems, for Canada this law being the infamous Section 43. Even
though it was implemented for the protection of parents and teachers from prosecution because of
minor disciplining, it really is an excuse for violence against children. In this generation, the
justness and effectiveness of corporal punishmenthave come into question, which is what this
writing piece aims to further delve into.
While anthropology may not be the most obvious study connected to corporal punishment, the two
topics are more related than most people think. As humans, we have a sense of morals and values,
and the understanding of our culture s changes is vital to understanding our shift in values. From an
anthropological point of view, corporal punishment would be focused on what caused humanity s
shift in values when it came to the justness of corporal punishment? . Based on the evidence, the
answer to this would be if humanity has a recent change in values when it comes to corporal
punishment, then it is because of the recent boost of awareness different cultures have gained in

The Pros And Cons Of Vaccines
Vaccines are safe to the human body although there are dangerous and concerning ingredients. the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) carefully monitors and tests the ingredients to
ensure the safest vaccine. The ingredients in vaccines are tested to be safe in the quantities used. As
reported by the CDC, vaccineingredients such as thimerosal, formaldehyde, and aluminum can
harm one only in large amounts of doses (Vaccines and Immunizations). The CDC notes that,
people are exposed to more bacteria, viruses, toxins, and other harmful substances in one day of
normal activity than are in vaccines (Vaccines and Immunizations). Discussing the concerns of the
public about the ingredients, the CDC commented, [t]he FDA requires up to 10 or more years of
testing for all vaccines before they are licensed, and then they are monitored by the CDC and the
FDA to make sure the vaccines and the ingredients used in the vaccines are safe (Should Vaccines
Be Required). Vaccines are tested to the highest standard of safety. They are carefully evaluated
with the help of many programs to reassure safety. Raised concerns about certain ingredients in
vaccines have caused some people to oppose against immunizations. Thimerosal, which holds
ethylmercury, is one of the main concerns. According to Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection,
Thimerosal is a preservative that can prevent harmful bacteria to thrive in (Vaccines). Although
thimerosal is known to leave the body quickly, some

Confucianism And Daoism Essay
Confucianism and Daoism affected the social structure of early China through culture, education,
and government though the effects varied greatly between these two beliefs. Culture in China is
different due to the teachings of Confucianism that began when Confucius was age twenty three, as
well as the teachings of Daoism because both teachings believed in harmony and living tranquilly.
Education was shaped by Daoism and Confucianismfor the reason that Confucians believed
everyone should be educated while Daosits thought it was irrelevant. Since Confucius lived in a
time of political unrest from 551 to 478 B.C.E., he worked to gain political stability whereas the
Daosits were indifferent on that issue.
Culture was impacted by Daoism and Confucianism because the teachings that were proclaimed,
breached on the topic of living a harmonious life filled with respect for one another.
Confucianism especially stressed the idea of reverence towards an older person. With this
mentality, it is almost as if adults are never to be at fault. Fathers were supposed to be revered and
loved by the children. Though Daoism had a certain set of ethics and appealed more to the higher
class, both religions promoted a nonviolent life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of Traditional Values
In addition to religion, although it fits in with this topic, the traditional values seem to rule
families today and continue to cause problems with not only the issue of sexuality, but gender as
well. The traditional american family values very often include: oppositions to pre marital sex,
same sex marriage, some elements of feminism, abortion while actively supporting abstinence
education, and separation of church and state; but these values include the beliefs in: Christian
based values, traditional home based roles for women, the males being the head of household,
and programs and public policies that shield their children from exploitation, (Taylor). It is
obvious where conflict will arise when the values bluntly state that there is an opposition to same
sex marriage, but the additional conflict of religion will also contribute to more rising conflict.
These conflicts take place in schools, college campuses, families, churches, and in politics, as it
has been seen; what about adults lives in the workforce? In the United States, only 21 states
currently have protections in place for LGBT employees to prevent discrimination ( Past LGBT
Nondiscrimination and Anti LGBT Bills Across the Country. ). The LGBTQ community earns as
little as $0.68 for every dollar that a heterosexual employee earns, even when qualifications are
equal or even greater for the LGBT worker and 21% LGBTQ employees have reported having been

  • 8. Keynesian Theory And The Difference Between Real And... Economics is not only useful to those who use it to determine future outcomes for the world, but it is also an important part of society s everyday life. We unknowingly understand concepts derived from economics when we are trying to make choices of what to buy, what to invest in, when to be conservative about spending, and much more. Understanding the Keynesian theory and the difference between real and nominal variables may not directly affect each other, but both play a part in how we relate economics to our world. Keynesian theory is a concept developed by John Maynard Keynes, in which it is believed that governments should intervene with the economy and how it is dealt. Keynesian economists believe that saving beyond planned investments is a very serious problem that encourages recession. If saving goes beyond investments, there will not be enough demand to purchase the goods and services that the economy is producing. Therefore, leading into a recession, or worse a depression. Keynesian economists believe that a government stimulus is more effective at boosting aggregate demand than a tax cut because they believe that government intervention is a way to stabilize an economy. When governments have programs to benefit people who are doing specific jobs, it will bring that money back into the economy, unlike tax cuts. If the spending is supported by tax increases then this will reduce people s incomes after tax, which will ultimately lead them to reduce their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In renaissance Italy it was said that woman only had one purpose and that purpose was to have many legitimate babies, especially for the nobility and upper status couples. Woman today are seen as equals to men, and have a larger significance than just having their husbands children. Childbearing in the Renaissance was not as easy or as safe as it is today either, as we will further discuss. This paper will explain the role of child birthing and bearing in the Italian Renaissance, everything from mortality rates, to wet nurses and this differs from today s society. As mentioned before, the main role for woman in the renaissance was to produce children for her husband and handle household affairs, this was proven in the document by Alberti when he had said Furthermore, I made it a rule never to speak with her of anything but household matters or of the children. Of these matters I spoke a great deal to her...(Famiglia, D., 1996, pg 40). Thus showing the wife s role was greatly dependent on her house and children. It was also important, especially in the nobility, that the children the wife gave birth to were her husband s children. Her role ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thus, even poetry and prose by the same author can end up with different word choices and narratives, in order to convey longing as an emotion. This paper will analyse Cat in the Rain (Ernest Hemingway) where a woman s desire for a cat shows her longing for certain things in life; and Killed Paive (Ernest Hemingway) a narration about lost feelings between the narrator and the addressed person. Therefore, it is tough for Kroll to break into this new industry where the three dominant incumbents have 97% of all ratings. In Jillian Schwedler s article, Faith in Moderation: Islamist Parties in Jordan and Yemen, she explains moderation as, when a movement moves from a closed and rigid worldview to one that is more open and tolerant of alternative perspectives and encounters ideological change (Schwedler 3). Although throughout her analysis she discusses the inclusion moderation hypothesis, I will not be integrating this into my paper. I will argue that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egyptmoderated between the 1980 s 2000 s because of their evolution of ideologies on minority religious groups, women and the diversification of issues. I will be doing this by discussing their moderation on minority religious groups, women, and the diversification of issues within the state. You have to look at the term limits effects on chair s experience, chairs as gatekeepers, committee conflict itself, committee chairs as conflict managers, chairs as substantive experts, committee member experience and expertise, and information gathering by the committees. First, is the chair s experience, it has dropped dramatically since term limits. Prior to term limits most chairs were experienced veterans of the House. Committee chairs in the 1997 1998 Democratically controlled House had an average of 8.9 years of prior service (approximately 4.5 sessions) and the most experienced chair had served for 13 previous sessions. In fact, in the term limited House more than one third of our respondents indicated that the party leaders or caucus exerted influence over the chair s agenda compared to less than one sixth of the pre term limits respondents. This further supports the findings that for second term chairs both institutional changed as well as their lack of experience contribute to their decline in control over their committees. (Sarbaugh Thompson, 2004) However, control is concentrated at higher levels in House leadership hierarchy. In addition, the party leader and governor increased after term limits. The party leader itself is going to dangle money towards legislators to reelection. As for the governor, in the state of Michigan, it has a strong governor to begin with but after term limits, they become even stronger in their position. Third, the committee conflict, the sources of conflict increased after term limits. In Michigan, regions of the state compete with each other for money, government projects, and other benefits; and budget constraints can intensify the competition between regions. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The eerie affinity between the two counterparts is best exemplified by the various types of figurative language used by Steven Schutzman. Schutzman states the teller, a young woman of about twenty five, felt the lights of her streets go on for the first time (Schutzman 1), evidently describing the emotional impact the robber had on the teller. Figuratively, this statement is an implicit comparison between the lights that had lined her streets and the teller s discovery of love. This statement also foreshadows the creation of a turbulent relationship between the two counterparts, since it depicts a love at first sight moment that conclusively suggests that the folly lovers will base their romance on short term desires rather than true love. In the eleventh paragraph, the robber is seen stating Ah money...you are just like love (Schutzman 1) , evidently proving his lustful adoration towards materialistic facets. Schutzman implies, through this statement, that this is an example of a metaphor, since it is an explicit comparison between money and love. The author uses this metaphor, in order to epitomize the evident unstable romance that is created between the bank robber and the teller. This statement indirectly implies the fact that the relationship between the two counterparts is formed due to their lustful momentary desires. In order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Discuss Twelve Angry Men, written by Reginald Rose in 1957, portrays the intense discussion between 12 jurors in the American jury about a 16 year old boy, who is accused of killing his own father, and charged with premeditated homicide , the most serious charge in court. It explores the flaws of human nature, and the impacts of misinterpretations of the case can have on the defendant. Regardless of whether or not that is through grandparents raising children, foster children and adopted children being raised in families, single parenting, interracial couples, etc. One of the most talked about issues of our time is the legality of same sex union/marriages. The standpoint that many take on this issue is one rooted very deeply in traditions and personal beliefs. There is a constant conflict of opinions. However, research consistently that relationships between families are tied together based off of the quality of the relationship and child outcomes compared to the sexual orientation of the parents. In every individual, there are desires that are present to someday include a child into your life. Whether that be at a young or old age, you are given the right to bear children into their world whenever you so wish as long as your circumstances are right. For those that identify as being gay /lesbian they do not have that choice. However even those who are involved in same sex relationships ultimately have the desire to have children. The first instance of a dSp diastereomer difference was reported from our laboratory when Klenow Fragment (exo ) was allowed to insert dATP opposite the isomers for which dSp1 containing ODNs were found to be the more favorable substrate for insertion and bypass.32 This study was extended to in vivo experiments by Neeley, et al. to include pol II and pol IV, also showing more favorable bypass kinetics for dSp1.34 As further evidence for in vivo stereochemical dependency in dSp processing, Henderson, et al. utilized the restriction endonuclease and postlabeling assay (REAP) to determine the mutation profiles for dSp1 and dSp2 in Escherichia coli.28 In the sequence context 5 d(GSpA) 3 , they found a strong stereochemical dependence in the relative amounts of dG→dT and dG→dC transversion mutations for dSp1 and dSp2. In subsequent experiments, Delaney, et al. showed a somewhat different dependence of mutation profiles on the dSp diastereomers in the sequence context 5 (TSpG) 3 using the REAP and competitive replication of adduct bypass assays (CRAB).29,30 An additional observation from our laboratory quantified the digestion kinetics of dSp isomers in the dinucleotides 5 d(Np[Sp]) 3 (N = A, T, G or C) by nuclease P1 that showed dSp1 was the kinetically preferred substrate in all sequence combinations.33 Lastly, in collaboration ... The building is unusual for a Minoan site in that it is more symmetrical and less labyrinthine than most Minoan remains. The body would have been made of wood and slotted onto two sticks at the top of the clay feet. The body would have been dressed in material and the feet would not have been visible. The Holy Family and the Three Magi s are illustrated in the painting. They seem to be sitting outside on the ground behind a home made of brick. A sense of space and perception is created because in the distance, behind the people in the painting there is a beautiful view of a mountain and the sun in the sky far from where the people are. In the artwork, de Carpi paints clothes on each person besides baby Christ, and the clothing differ in color; there is red, green, yellow, blue.
