The Harlem Renaissance was a period that started in the early 1920 s in which the concept of the Negro was intended to be
changed (History.com). This period witnessed the thrive of African American art. White stereotypes had influenced not

The Foolishness of Love
Romantic love is a force that exceeds our rational judgment. Out of nowhere, it descends upon us and destroys our
previous notions of ourselves, making us act in uncharacteristic ways. We do not choose whom and when to love; and
falling in love reminds us of how little control we have over our lives. In spite of this, romantic love is often viewed today
as a sure path to ever lasting happiness. Shakespeare, however, was far more realistic in his portrayal of romance. In his
plays, love often functions as more of a treacherous force overcoming the characters rational selves than a source of
ultimate fulfillment.
Falling in love is often against our best interests, and no one is more aware of this than Beatrice and Benedick in Much
Ado about Nothing. Both of them staunch bachelors, they know all too well that love makes people vulnerable and often
miserable. Beatrice is sensitive to inequality inherent in marriage whereby a wife should subjugate herself to her husband.
She calls men pieces of valiant dust and insists she does not want to be ruled by them: Would it not grieve a woman . . . to
make an account of her life to a clod of wayward marl? (2.1.51 53). She values her independence. With her sharp tongue

Weaknesses of SMART
In all actuality, these are mostly just minor annoyances. Firstly, the system s on hand counts only update once every two
hours. This may be because of the huge amounts of data that need to be updated, but customers get angry when the on hand
says 25 and one can t be found. My second complaint is that the system has no way of recognizing theft. Again, this
produces wrong on hand counts which sometimes become negatives, and is an overall pain to figure out what is actually
wrong. I guess one could say my main complaint against the SMART system is human error. But what program can
completely remove it?
Possible Improvements
I think the best solution for this problem would be removal of human interaction, but I realize that this is not possible.
Therefore, my second proposition would be not allowing just any Associate to operate the Telxon. I have been there a total
of 4 months and I can change prices and inventory counts at my leisure. I m sure you can imagine the havoc that could be
wreaked if I weren t an honest Associate. I think there should be at least some kind of intensive training. Most of my
training was in the same day and lasted under an hour. Instead of allowing anyone these options, just a handful of
