Social Connectivity And Its Effects On Society
Imagine if everything in the world around you existed only in theory but didn t really exist at all. How
much would you have to worry about the consequences of your actions? This kind of nihilism isn t
practical when you go out in public, but computation and social connectivity may be the closest thing,
in the real world, to the construction of an actual nihilistic landscape. When you go online, you often
won t have to worry about tarnishing your identity and reputation because, with anonymity, it never
really existed to your audience in the first place. There are many places where you don t have to worry
about saying the wrong things because there aren t any authority figures to effectively enforce them.
The internet doesn t so much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here you have two major American political candidates from both the Democratic and Republican
parties emphasizing the need for authority and moderation for the dangerous aspects of the World
Wide Web. In one sense, it s easy for people to mock just how vague, naïve, and impractical this idea
sounds, as shutting something down online doesn t necessarily prevent it from being built up again. In
another sense, it s long overdue for politicians to start taking the issue of toxicity in global internet
activity and reactivity very seriously. This issue is not so much about terrorism itself. Fundamentally
speaking, it is about the downsides of the internet s global reach and the lack of exclusivity that
dangerous ideas have because of social media s accessibility. In can be argued by the social contract
theory that people, in general, will submit to their governments under a common law to live in a civil
society. In other words, the authority of the law, and its ability to dish out consequences for actions, is
what can ensure communal peace and security among people. But legislation has a notorious lag time
in its ability to properly keep up with technology and its sociological uses. There arguably isn t a
clearly defined social contract on the internet. Overall, this is an issue about how internet rhetoric
seems to be fueling a contagious toxic culture,

Service Marketing in Education
SERVICE MARKETING
IN
EDUCATION SECTOR
ANALYSIS OF THE 7 P s
INTRODUCTION
Services are very different from products. So the marketing concepts need to be revisited while
marketing a service. Services can range from financial services provided by the banks, technology
services provided by the IT Company, food and ambiance as a service provided by restaurants or even
a blog where an author provides a service (information presentation, interesting reading etc) to his
audience. Services marketing are dominated by the 7 Ps of marketing namely Product, Price, Place,
Promotion, People, Process and Physical evidence. The 7 P frameworks is one of the most popular
framework for deciding a marketing strategy, right from strategy formulation to actual ... Show more

PRICE
Price is the most important factor in doing business especially in a service industry. It is because there
is a tight competition in a service industry. So marketer need to consider a price that is similar or even
lower than the market price. This is to help the industry to penetrate into the market as customer
usually will consider price as the most important factor in selecting their service provider. Marketer
can increase the price only if the company can provide better service than other competitors.
The prices a company sets for its product and services must strike a balance between gaining
acceptance with the target customers and making a profit for the organisation.
Services being, all the more intangible, the price becomes an important factor for the actual service
consumption to happen, after service awareness and service acknowledgement.

Social Work Philosophy
Social Work s core philosophy and values are centered around social justice and social well being.
Oppression, injustice, discrimination, and violence are antithetical to the social work profession.
Social Work believes in strength based approaches and the person in environment perspective to cater
the needs and welfare of individuals, families, groups, communities, and society at large. Generally,
the target populations for social work are vulnerable, marginalized, and oppressed people; however,
social workers provide services to people with a wide range of problems, such as poverty, addiction,
mental illness, etc. to empower them to meet their own needs. Historically, the social work profession
started its operation by providing neighborhood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several decades after the Civil Right Acts of 1964 were passed, we still hear the slogans of Black lives
matter and All lives matter. According to the NASW Code of Ethics (1996), social workers should be
sensitive to cultural and ethnic diversity and strive to end discrimination, oppression, poverty, and
other forms of social injustice (p. 3). Social workers and the profession as a whole should address
problems related to minority groups to make our society equitable, just, and responsive to social
justice. As a measure of this ethical standard, the content of the major journal of NASW (National
Association of Social Work), Social Work, should reflect studies conducted by researchers on minority
groups and their problems, which this study intends to analyze. Additionally, Council on Social Work
Education has required social work schools to maintain cultural diversity in students enrollment,
hiring of faculty, and the development of curricula (Trolander, 1997), but how well this diversity is
reflected in research studies is a matter of exploration, which this study has tried to address by doing
the content analysis of the most prestigious social work journal, Social

Using Kerberos Integrated Windows Authentication Adapters
1) One principle of error reduction is to reuse information already in the computer whenever possible.
Describe an experience where you had to re input information that should have been stored and
reusable.
From my experiences as a software developer, reuse of information already existing in the computer
can exist in situations such as logging into different applications using the same user id. For example,
I had to sign in to my windows workstation and then again sign into different applications like sales
force, security central, IBM web sphere administration server console etc.. This was time consuming
and also annoying. I had to re input my employee ID into all the above applications and had to sign in

The product of ad hoc analysis is typically a statistical model and a analytic report (Ad Hoc Analysis,
n.d.). They are also used to create a report that drill deeper into the static report to get details about the

The main goal of ad hoc reporting is to empower end users to ask their own questions of the company
data. Ad hoc reporting stands in contrast with managed reporting, in which the technical user and the
report developer create and distribute the report (Ad Hoc Reporting, n.d.).
3) Discuss why both manual procedures and computer integrity controls are required to prevent fraud.
Computer Integrity controls include processing control on application programs, network access
security on browser and internet transport, input and output controls on input and output devices,
operating system security, data encryption over data and internet transport. Manual procedures include
physically counting stuff, checking transactions manually, checking consistencies between two related
things, random checks etc.
Following are the factors affecting fraud risks and tips to counter these factors (Procedure Manual,

The United States Constitution Vs. American Civil...
The United States Constitution gives the American people their freedom so to speak. The Constitution
outlines many things that other countries don t offer their citizens such as freedom of speech, religion
and the press. The First Amendment of the Constitutions guarantees that the United States people have
rights to freedom of expression and freedom of religion without the interference of the government.
The Bible states in Deuteronomy 17: 18 19, Now it shall come about when he sit on the throne of his
kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical
priests. It shall be with him, and he shall read it, all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the
Lord his God, by carefully observing all the words of this law and these statutes . These laws have
been called into question on several different occasions. However, like anything else, there are some
stipulations with these laws. Reno v. American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) did shed some insight
on the laws and how they can be interpreted. This paper will discuss the criminal statute issues, issues
with the provisions of the Constitution, and the status of criminal prosecution for transmission of
pornography over the internet. With the hopes of having a clearer understanding of Reno v. American
Civil Liberties Union. The First Amendment was a key component in Reno v. ACLU. It states that
Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech. The Courts

The Law Of Selective Incorporation
1. The concept of selective incorporation according to We the People, was a progression by which
different securities in the Bill of Rights were incorporated into the Fourteenth Amendment. In 1937
the courts were still unwilling to defend civil freedoms beyond the First Amendment. The first case
that established selective incorporation was Palko v. Connecticut. The courts determined that the
provisions of the Bill of Rights should be selectively combined and useful as a constraint on the states
by the Fourteenth Amendment (Ginsberg et al. 117). Gideon v. Wainwright established the right to
counsel during criminal courts . The Miranda v. Arizona likewise established the right to counsel and
remain silent The incorporation that gained a lot of nationwide attention is McDonald v. Chicago
where the right to bear arms was granted (Ginsberg et al. 118). This incorporation has paved the way
for several national cities to pass gun laws. 2. The rights of the accused is based upon the Fourth,
Fifth, Sixth and Eighth Amendment that creates the Due Process of Law (Ginsberg et al. 133). These
laws protect accused criminals by engaging limitations on the governments against the liberty and
freedom of the accused . However under the search and seize it prohibits evidence from being
submitted in court that was seized during an illegal search (Ginsberg et al. 134). The exclusionary was
applied during the case of Mapp v. Ohio. The technicalities of this rule has allowed

Educational Disadvantages And Disadvantage
This essay will examine the various definitions and understandings of the vast term educational
disadvantage . It will look at the various issues that occur in schools in relation to educational
disadvantage, and also what teachers are required to do in order to support pupils through difficulties
(for example economic and social class) they may encounter in relation to their background. It will
look at factors such as parent and family involvement, social background and race and ethnicity and
how these effect children s schooling. It will also look at teaching styles and positive teacher culture.
Educational disadvantage is frequently defined in terms which are broad and non specific. A fuller
understanding of educational disadvantage requires us to go beyond descriptions. The 1998 ... Show

Big Fish Quotes
Big Fish produced by Tim Burton consist of much spiritual significance. For example, one might think
the fish was a symbol of Christianity, because of the Jesus fish that we often see on bumper stickers,
but there is one true spiritual significance. The one true spiritual significance that sticks out the most is
the Christ like figure. Edward Bloom, the main character represents the Christ like figure in this film.
Like Jesus, Edward Bloom is a storyteller who tells the stories of his father. Storytelling is a strong
trait that is used in every conversation today. In the film, a quote says A man tells stories so many
times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him and he becomes immortal. essentially this

The Current Training And Development Programme For Rebel...
If (Briscoe s Group) Rebel Sports wishes to remain dominant in the sporting goods sector, expand and
open more stores throughout New Zealand, then it is absolutely crucial that an affective induction
programme is developed. The current induction process is very standard and there are areas of
improvements to be made. Areas of improvement includes the induction process which needs to be
more suited to the ways in which Rebel sports operates. Rebel Sports has many employees whom after
on average six years are still with the company. The current training and development programme for
Rebel Sports has been successful in the past but there is room for improvement of a very universal
approach to orientations and inductions. Rebel Sports has created a friendly working atmosphere
amongst staff and this has led to many employees developing loyalty to the organisation and
remaining with the organisation for on average 6 years. Within this report, Recommendations will be
provided which have been developed so that HR managers can implement an approach that
incorporates organisational loyalty in which current and new employees will be able to develop more
easily. Having and maintaining a highly effective standardised orientation programme will be heavily
influenced by the willingness of mangers of all levels within Rebel Sports. Introduction: Briscoes

A Brief Note On Deforestation And Charcoal Production
Mahdi 8 Deforestation and Charcoal Production in Somalia Mahdi Haile DPP 911.01: Environ Factors
in Development Practice Kalle Matso July 30, 2015 INTRODUCTION According to the information
thrown from the course reveals that over the past 30 years, assessments of the woodfuel situation in
developing countries, have changed substantially. In the mid 1970s, recognition that huge and growing
numbers of people depended on fuelwood as their principal domestic fuel led to predictions of
potentially devastating depletion of forest resources, with serious negative livelihood consequences
for the rural poor, unless action was taken to address this ??fuelwood crisis? (Arnold,J.E, and Gunnar
Hlin 2006). Charcoal consumption is often growing faster than fuelwood consumption. Though still
less relative to fuelwood in most of Asia, charcoal use is becoming a much larger part of the
woodfuels total in Africa and South America. In Africa, the aggregate of consumption of fuelwood and
wood for charcoal is growing at a rate close to that of population growth. The overall quantities
involved, and the numbers still relying on woodfuels continue to be very large. The International
Energy Agency recently estimated that, although shifts to other sources of energy could be expected to
substantially reduce the share of these fuels by 2030, biomass energy will still account for an mated
three quarters of total residential energy in Africa in that year, and that the

The Drum Research Paper
The drums are one of humanities oldest musical instrument and, like all instruments, the drums
continue existing to this day as a method of communication. Previously drumming was often used as a
social mediator, played to bring together the community and act as a vehicle in carrying messages and
stories, alongside ceremonial use. However, within the last century, the drums have morphed radically
into their current potential purpose and capabilities. Drifting from their roots as a vehicle for the
community into its very own art, and modern drumming is undeniably an art, requiring immense

Dynamics refers to the level of force used on the drum in order to create the desired volume.
Dynamics is necessary in all drumming in directing attention and suggesting what the audience should
be doing, thinking, feeling, etc., etc. The volume level is obviously different for the macrosystem of
drumming like the style and genre that s encompassing the music. Aloud and heavy four on the floor
wouldn t suit jazz as that s not what s trying to be conveyed, instead feathering is a more common jazz
use of the kick drum which involves lighter hit so it s not pronounced and oppressive to the rest of the
music; however, this heavy beat would be perfect for house or disco as it is much easier to dance to at
a nightclub, which is exactly what the drummer is going for in this setting. This demonstrates
dynamics relationship to the type of music, but it also varies within the microsystem the individuals
input of the drumming, on a beat by beat basis. The drummer again has to judge and monitor what
volume level they assume is appropriate, this refers to all of the strokes but also individual hits to
accentuate specific parts. This is a necessary part of microsystemic drumming as accents is
responsible for a lot of direction of where the music is going. It can build a crescendo in a fill or ease a

Moliere s Tartuffe By William Moliere
The Enlightenment ushered in the idea that reason should be exercised in thinking instead of passion.
Moliere s Tartuffe was written to challenge the dominant political and religious views of its time. The
Catholic church viewed Moliere s Tartuffe as a threat to their faith and banned the play from being
performed in public. Moliere became one of the great Enlightenment thinkers because of his
willingness to speak out against the large corrupt institutions that many people did not have the
courage to question.
Marcel Gutwirth states, Who is Tartuffe? Who is the wretch come barefoot into the home of a man of
some wealth and note who, in the teeth of almost universal detestation, establishes a grip upon that
household so tenacious that the intervention of the sovereign is needed to shake him loose and send
him packing? The play, as had been remarked, refuses to make up its mind. The rubicund glutton of
the second act or the sinister jail bird of the fifth, the religious hypocrite or the professional confidence
man, the professed nobleman the provinces or the penniless impostor make for a range that takes in
some mutually exclusive possibilities. Two things stand out: he does lay claim to a very special
relation to heaven; and, though far less overtly, sex exercises an equally strong claim on his person. A
third fact, which we shall take up first, is his successful occupation of that well nigh impregnable
fastness, the interior of an affluent French household the

Vanilla Ice willfully sampled Under Pressure without their permission, which is a direct offense of

author J. Runtagh, for the Rolling Stone, states his defense makes this one of the most hilarious
copyright cases ever. One could argue that a more appropriate course of action would be to take
Vanilla Ice to court and have him formally charged with copyright infringement, as well as not
allowing him to purchase all the publishing rights. Vanilla Ice s nonchalant attitude toward the
infringement lends one to believe he does not understand or care about his actions. Moreover,
allowing David Bowie and Queen to keep their share of songwriting royalties and publishing royalties
serves more appropriately as a settlement due to the fact that it allows for income to be pursued as

George Washington Essay
Washington, George (1732 99), commander in chief of the Continental army during the American
Revolution, and later the first president of the United States. He symbolized qualities of discipline,
aristocratic duty, military orthodoxy, and persistence in adversity that his contemporaries particularly
valued as marks of mature political leadership.
Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, the eldest son of
Augustine Washington, a Virginia planter, and Mary Ball Washington. Although Washington had little
or no formal schooling, his early notebooks indicate that he read in geography, military history,

Washington resigned his commission in 1754, but in May 1755 he began service as a volunteer aide de
camp to the British general Edward Braddock, who had been sent to Virginia with a force of British
regulars. A few kilometers from Fort Duquesne, Braddock s men were ambushed by a band of French
soldiers and Native Americans. Braddock was mortally wounded, and Washington, who behaved
gallantly during the conflict, narrowly escaped death. In August 1755 he was appointed (with the rank
of colonel) to command the Virginia regiment, charged with the defense of the long western frontier of
the colony. War between France and Britain was officially declared in May 1756, and while the
principal struggle moved to other areas, Washington succeeded in keeping the Virginia frontier
relatively safe.
The American Revolution
After the death of his elder half brother Lawrence, Washington inherited the plantation known as
Mount Vernon. A spectacular rise in the price of tobacco during the 1730s and 40s, combined with his
marriage in 1759 to Martha Custis, a young widow with a large estate, made him one of the wealthiest
men in Virginia. Elected to the House of Burgesses in 1758, he served conscientiously but without
special distinction for 17 years. He also gained political and administrative experience as justice of the
peace for Fairfax County.
Like other Virginia planters, Washington became alarmed by the repressive measures of the British

Tennessee Vs Garner Essay
Tennessee v. Garner
At approximately 2200 hours on October 3, 1974, the Memphis police received a prowler inside call ,
to which they dispatched officers Hymon and Wright. Upon arrival at the scene, a woman directed
them to a neighboring house from her porch and informed the officers that she had heard glass

Hymon proceeded to circle around behind the house, while Wright radioed dispatch to inform them
they were on the scene. Officer Hymon then heard a door slam and someone running across the

Secretary Of The Treasury Essay
The Department of the Treasury is the executive department that deals largely with creating policies
that will be beneficial to the United States economy and the government s finances. The
responsibilities of the Department of the Treasury include paying the bills for the federal government,
collecting taxes from the citizens, borrowing and lending money, creating currency, and supervising
the national banks (Sidlow). The duties of the secretary of the treasury affect all United States citizens
everyday lives due to the fact that he or she is dealing with all taxes and currency in the nation.
Anyone who is receiving benefits from the federal government would be affected by changes or
creation of any policies. The secretary of the treasury ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The secretary of defense, who heads the Department of Defense, comes second in power over the
military. The first and most important job of the secretary of defense is to keep the country protected
from terrorist attacks. We often take for granted the security of our nation, but there are people
working around the clock in order to keep the country safe. Next, the department of defense also
locates and punishes any terrorists who attack which is a difficult and dangerous task. As the secretary
of defense, it is his or her duty to ensure that each branch in the United States military is well trained
and prepared for any obstacle that they may face whether it be planned or unforeseen. The secretary of
defense also ensures that these men and women in the armed forces are well equipped to do their jobs
(Ruffin). There seems to be a high failure rate among those who have served as the secretary of
defense. Are these secretaries actually failing at their job, or are they reaching toward the impossible
goal of trying to keep each and every American citizen safe from terrorist attacks on our nation? Many
of these secretaries are let go by the president due to a lack of confidence in them (Stevenson). The
ideal secretary of defense would need to be skilled in politics, leadership, relationships, and many
other areas, but someone who is exceptional in all areas would be nearly impossible to find. Because
perfecting the position as secretary of defense is nearly impossible since the safety of the entire nation
is in their hands, we often see this resulting in disappointment toward the

False Memory Eyewitness Testimony Essay
False Memory and Eyewitness Testimony PSY363 False Memory and Eyewitness Testimony A false
memory is simply a memory that did not occur. An actual experience can become distorted as best
illustrated by the Cog Lab experiment on false memories accessed through Argosy University. The
experiment is outlined as follows: a participant is given a list of words that are highly relative in
nature at a rate of about one word every 2 seconds. At the finish of the given list, the participant is
then shown a list of words in which he or she is to recall the words from the original list. A special

original list. For example, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

him that took their family member s life, implored them to seek the truth, and asked for God to have
mercy on his executioners souls. Since his execution, 7 out of the 9 eyewitness have recanted or

Anthony Davis executed in Georgia after appeals exhausted, 2011). The bank robbery occurred in
Slidell, LA., where the population is 76% white. It is very possible that if the perpetrators were of any

Maple Sugaring: How to Make Your Own Maple Syrup
What is your favorite thing for breakfast? French toast? Pancakes? Do you like your steaming stack of
French toast or fluffy pancakes with maple syrup? I thought so. Using your homemade made maple
syrup will make them taste even better. So, why not go back to the basics and make you own maple
syrup. Believe me, it is worth your effort. There are three basic processes involved in maple syrup
production, taping and collection, reduction of sap, and canning or bottling. ??
To begin the maple syrup production process you must chose the appropriate location and tree species.
In order to produce maple syrup you must have access ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The location of the tree holds great importance to sap collection. Trees in open environments such as
lawns and roadsides have large crowns due to the lack of competition from other trees and therefore
produce more sap that is often sweeter. To compare, a tree in an open setting has the capability to
produce a gallon of maple syrup in one season, but a tree located in a forest can only produce about a
quart of maple syrup in one season. The tree must you desire to tap be at least 10 inches in diameter
when measured 4.5 feet above the ground. Also, trees between 10 and 20 inches should only have one
tape, trees 20 to 25 inches can sustain two taps, and trees more than 25 inches in diameter may have
three or more taps. So, after your trees have been selected the next step is to determine when to tap
trees.
In Northeastern United States, sap begins to flow in the spring from late January to early February.
The time between mid February and March is often the most productive period of the sap collection
season. In order for sap to flow, temperatures must rise over 40° F during the day time and drop below
32° F during the nighttime. The sap will also fluctuate throughout the 4 to 6 week season. Early runs
are often light, whereas later runs are darker. So now that the site, tree, and time has been
distinguished, the tapping process can be performed.
To begin the process of taping a tree, you

Explain The Four Stages Of Estrous Cycle
Estrus is the period of sexual receptivity for a female animal. The estrous cycle has four stages:
proestrus, estrus, metestrus, and diestrus. Proestrus is the first stage, and lasts approximately three
days. During this stage of estrus, follicle growth begins due to the decrease in progesterone and
increase in follicle stimulating hormone and estrogen. The corpus luteum is disintegrated, and the
endometrium (the uterine lining) begins developing. After proestrus, is estrus, which lasts
approximately twelve to eighteen hours. Estrus is the time when animals are considered to be in heat .
The female animal shows signs of behavioral estrus (standing to be mounted, mounting others,

It stimulates follicular development and estrogen synthesis. It sends a positive feedback to the ovaries.
Estrogen originates from the granulosa cells in the follicle. It regulates gonadotropin releasing
hormone, luteinizing hormone, and follicle stimulating hormone, and also increases sexual behavior.
Estrogen sends a positive feedback to the surge center in he hypothalamus. Prostaglandin F2 alpha
originates from the uterus endometrium. It destroys the corpus luteum and causes contractions in the
uterus, as well as abortion. Progesterone originates from the corpus luteum/placenta. It maintains
pregnancy, inhibits gonadotropin releasing hormone, and also prevents estrus and ovulation.
Progesterone sends a negative feedback to the hypothalamus. Thanks to the six main hormones
gonadotropin releasing hormone, luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, estrogen,
prostaglandin F2 alpha, and progesterone female animals go through the period of sexual receptivity
called estrus. The estrous cycle has four cycles: proestrus, estrus, metestrus, and diestrus. All species

Response To The Scaffles-Personal Narrative

The Southern Stereotype Essay
Long Live Southern Stereotypes
Ever since Scarlett O Hara struggled to find love and Andy Taylor was elected Mayberry s Sheriff,
filmmakers and television producers have yet to lose any fondness for stereotyping the southern
culture. There are many who despise any form of labeling or stereotyping within the media, fearing
false characterizations or inaccurate portrayals of southern customs, traditions, and people. Exposure
to southern stereotypes through media is an appealing element in the American lifestyle that can
render endearing impressions, contribute genuine metaphors, and provide viewers with a unique and
fascinating (whether positive or negative) glimpse toward a regional culture.
The mass media, or media at large, would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are pointed descriptions, but they are true and the American culture loves (and loves to hate) the
southern stereotype and it is here to stay.
Now what about those who may have that southern stereotypical drawl? Southern accents do not make
one stupid; being stupid does. Southerners should be proud of the southern accent. However, the
media has managed to cause dismay among many southerners who possess the engaging and attractive
drawl. Should a visitor traveling to North Dakota, view a Fargo native as stupid or ignorant because of
the distinct accent heard there? Should a North Dakota resident ridicule a person from the Bronx
because of the peculiar accent heard there? Somehow people are ashamed of their unique speech
patterns rather than being proud of a colloquial accent. The southern stereotype will be here for a long
time to come, so love it and embrace it.
According to Jack G. Shaheen in his essay titled, The Media s Image of Arabs, Hollywood producers

Effects Of Legalization Of Cannabisbis
Moreover, legalization of cannabis can address some of the negative social consequences related to
the black market for cannabis which include, ... Unsafe environments created by the illegal
distribution of the drug and the negative consequences of criminal labeling for possession of small
amounts of marijuana (Hajizadeh, 2016, p. 6). In addition, the legalization of cannabis can also reduce
the stigma associated with the substance which would make it more socially acceptable. By rendering
this substance more acceptable, it would reduce the negative mental health impacts associated with
having a criminal record. For example, a person with a criminal record may not be accepted in society
because of the stigma and labels associated with criminals, which can lead to feelings of isolation a
sense of not belonging. These feelings of social isolation can lead to depression and anxiety, which
would be significantly reduced by the legalization of cannabis. Although the legalization would

elimination of stigma associated with cannabis use may entice more people to try the substance.
Although adults can use the substance in a low risk manner, there are more health concerns related to

particular individual decided that death by dignity was the best choice for her and her family. Brittany
Maynard was a 29 year old women who had a brain tumor, and after countless surgeries, the cancer
kept coming back. She decided that, There is no treatment that would save my life, and the
recommended treatments would have destroyed the time I had left (Maynard, 2016). Her and her

assisted suicide. She was able to live her remaining weeks in peace and not have to worry about
radiation treatments to try and save her. She chose to be able to end her life when she wanted to, and
that was the most peaceful option for her. In opposition to this, there is the argument that when a right
to die law comes in to play, it turns into a duty. This is explained in Paul McHugh s Wall Street
Journal Article, Dr. Death Makes a Comeback; Legalizing Physician Assisted Suicide is Receiving
Fresh Support, but Doctors Should Think Twice Before Signing on, which said, when the state
sponsored health plan in 2008 denied recommended but costly cancer treatments and offered instead
to pay for less expensive suicide drugs (McHugh, 2015). This statement says that in Oregon, a state
sponsored health plan denied costly cancer treatments because they would rather take the cheaper
route and get suicide drugs. This turns the idea that the option of physician assisted suicide is forced.
The option to either take the pill or get treatment is taken away when the treatment is not offered. The

Rather than the practical pursuit we are accustomed to, for Plato, Politics is an intellectual faculty.
Governance by non philosophers is to be governed by opinions, beliefs and self interest; in contrast
the philosopher ruler will govern with virtue and justice with no hidden agenda. The philosopher is in
love, in love with learning, knowledge and truth. It is important to make a distinction here between the
acquisition of knowledge and the acquisition of truth, because knowledge is not necessarily the truth.

The rulers will not own property, nor have money, they will be free of vices, excesses and desires.
They will have a Spartan existence (Plato was an admirer of Spartan culture). A ruler in Platos society
as described in his dialogue The Republic would be incorruptible, an absolute model of sensible world
perfection and justice. If one was to look no further into Platos utopian society you could be forgiven
for thinking that the philosopher rulers would be the ultimate answer for political duties and
government administration. A more detailed examination of policy and structure is necessary, prior to
arriving at a conclusion.
The structure in Platos society is tripartite and hierarchical, made up of the philosopher kings as rulers.

and Porcelain in China. For example, the Porcelain tea cups, teapot, and saucer are all in the image to
show what materials were used at the time. Though the tea cups were manufactured in China, they
were specifically made for the target audience of European buyers. There is evidence of this shown in
the Chinese patterns on the cups and teapots. The Chinese floral designs, clothing styles, creativity,
and more had a major impact on the desires of the elite upper class in Europe as they had become
widely fascinated with all things Chinese. While the Chinese had realized this liking of their designs
by the European market, they used this to target their buyers by making the teacups with cultured
designs such as the Chinese gardens but also tied in the European style houses to cater to the tastes of
the European consumers. The woman shown in the visual source looks as if she is from the upper
class. Judging by her silk dress and that she is using the Porcelain cups makes it most likely that this is
the case. If the dress was of unimportance, then there could be the possibility that she is involved in

movement that promotes body acceptance. Three new bodies, petite, tall and curvy, from Mattel will
take shelves beginning January 28th 2018. They will be sold alongside the original busty, thin waisted
form on Barbie.com, still all under the name Barbie. The spotlight however is shined upon the curvy
one; thick thighs, a protruding stomach and a behind that seems to be talking the most. The startling
change to the most infamous body in the world [] . The brand does $1 billion in sales across more than
150 countries and 92% of girls in America ages 3 to 12 own or have owned a Barbie [] . The company
hopes that the new dolls, having diverse body types, new skin tones and hair textures introduced last
spring will bring a sense of reflection to the young owner s world. Dr. Harding explains it as bigger
than Barbie s shape, because this really gets gender inequality in the United States as well []. Mattel
changes Barbie s image after fifty seven years as a result of continuous accusations of the It girl frame
affecting female society. Late January of 2015, Mattel released the images of the new barbie. The
iconic doll now made in petite, curvy, tall, and original. This move Mattel says is More than just
making Barbie look different . [] Mattel is re focusing their late powerhouse brand, sales have
plummeted in recent years as the doll has struggled to remain relevant to little girls

Early American Migrations
Migrations have been part of every historical period since people started existing on the Earth.
Hunters in the prehistoric era moved along with their prey, emperors in the ancient history moved to
expand their empires, and now, in the modern day history, people migrate to run away from war, to
find a better job, education or life in general. Charles Darwin would unquestionably agree that people
are guided by their inner drive to find the more appropriate conditions for living, if their life depends
on it, or else, there is only one possible outcome natural selection. We are faced with numerous
migrations of people form the east that are struggling in the war zones, trying to reach western
developed countries and find their place under the

How Kitchenaid Is An American Home Appliance Brand Owned...
When you come home for the holidays, Mom is in the kitchen baking all the festive goodies. Chances
are she has her KitchenAid Mixer pulled out of the cupboard and is in the middle of dumping all the
delicious ingredients into it to create the perfect pie. KitchenAid is an American home appliance brand
owned by Whirlpool Corporation. The company was started in 1919 by The Hobart Corporation to
produce stand mixers. An entire kitchen of high performance appliances were created all with the
same attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, versatile technology and design. The KitchenAid
Mixer has turned into a timeless classic. It still remains the Cadillac, or BMW, of food preparation
appliances. The KitchenAid story begins when Herbert Johnson, he was an engineer at the Hobart
Corporation. Herbert observed a baker hard at work, mixing his bread by hand, and then he has the
idea and decided that there must be a better way. They introduced an 80 quart commercial baking
dough mixer in 1915 on which he had worked since 1908. He set out to develop an automatic mixer
and in 1914, Hobart released the 60 quart industrial H5. The H5 eventually made its way into every
ship kitchen in the US Navy. They then introduced a 65 pound domestic version in 1919, named the
Model H the KitchenAid when a housewife tester commented, I don t care what you call it, but I know
it s the best kitchen aid I have ever had. It was sold door to door for $189 and was on the market until
1927. In the

Simulation-Based Nursing Education Is An Increasingly Popular
Simulation based nursing education is an increasingly popular academic approach. Structured
facilitated debriefing is an important strategy to engage students in learning and is essential in
simulation training. Further research is warranted to fully understand the impact of the method in
nurse education. It provides students with opportunities to practice their clinical and decision making
skills through various real life situational experiences. However, simulation approaches fall along a
scale ranging from low fidelity to high fidelity simulation. Debriefing approaches connected with the
simulation in the healthcare field aim to improve the performance, learning experience, and patient
results. Regardless of whether you are a med ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

simulation based nursing education depending on fidelity: a meta analysis article was published in
2016. The article suggests simulation based nursing education provides students with the opportunities
to practice their clinical and decision making skills through real life experiences. The second article,
using simulation learning through academic practice partnership to promote transition to clinical
practice suggests exploring the effect of an advanced simulation education program on nursing
students. The third article, development of a post simulation debriefing intervention to prepare nurses
and nursing students to care for deteriorating patients suggests nurses need to be prepared to recognize
signs and symptoms of patient deterioration so they can obtain support from appropriate respondents
and initiate help when needed. The last source, the effectiveness of simulation debriefing in health
professional education suggests to using debriefing for the purpose of simulation based learning for
health professionals.

Vaccine Effectiveness Of The Shingles Vaccine Essay
The shingles vaccine has been available in the United States since 2006 and is an effective method in
preventing individuals, especially those aged 60 years or older, from developing a herpes zoster
infection1. However, even though immunization is a relatively easy prevention method, many older
adults are not receiving the shingles vaccine. Though some individuals may choose to not be
vaccinated for personal or religious reasons, other barriers do exist. Limited physician education of the
national recommendations and vaccine effectiveness has resulted in less than 25% of eligible older
adults receiving the herpes zoster vaccine as of 20152. Lack of proper storage capabilities has also
limited many clinics from carrying the vaccine. The shingles vaccine must be stored frozen and
administered within thirty minutes, which is not always feasible for primary care or community based
clinics3. Luckily, public health professionals have been focusing on shingles vaccination among older
adults and some interventions have emerged with the goal to increase its uptake. One intervention
strategy in particular aims to improve immunization rates by addressing lack of education and support.
This program team utilized a team approach combined with educational opportunities, focusing
specifically on primary care settings4. Gannon, et. al. (2012) explored this team approach in their
study involving 17 primary care practices who were recruited from the ACP quality and practice

Describe What Happens When The Bunsen Burner
My first procedure that I completed was the filtration. When I mixed the lead (II) nitrate and the
sodium iodide together, I got a bright yellow liquid that turned out to be lead (II) iodide. I believe I did
this part of the procedure correct because the color was not too pale and I did not use too much lead
(II) nitrate or sodium iodide. I used the correct amount to get the results that were listed on the
laboratory, In procedure D, Glassworking, cutting the glass came out great. I followed all safety
procedures and it snapped perfectly. Although, I could have fire polished the cut glass a little bit more
but could not due to time constraints. A problem I could have had during this procedure is not having
the Bunsen Burner flame too low where

Five Steps In The Departure Of The Hero s Quest
There are five steps in the Departure of the Hero s Quest. The first step of the Departure is The Call to
Adventure. This is the point in the character s life when he realizes he is going to have to go on the
Hero Quest. Beowulf experienced The Call to Adventure when he realized what Grendel was doing to
Heorot, and he felt obligated to help King Hrothgar because he is his father s friend. The second step
of the Departure is the Refusal of the Call. The Refusal of the Call is when the hero first refuses the
call because of fear, insecurity, etc. This step is not included in Beowulf. I think the author chose to
omit this step because he wanted Beowulf to seem as heroic as possible, without refusing the quest.
The third step of the Departure is the Supernatural Aid. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This step was not included in Beowulf. I think the author chose to omit this step because he wanted to
portray Beowulf as a courageous man that doesn t need supernatural help to complete the quest. The
Crossing of the First Threshold is the fourth step of the Departure. This is the part where the hero
crosses into the field of the quest, where he s venturing into an unknown kingdom. This doesn t occur
much in the first part of Beowulf s quest with the fight with Grendel. However, it occurs when
Beowulf decides to find Grendel s mother and goes into the marshes where she lives. The fifth step of
the Departure is The Belly of the Whale. This is when the hero s known world and self is separated.
This occurs in Beowulf when Beowulf decides to fight the dragon. He knew he had to fight the dragon
to keep his people safe, but he had a feeling that this would be the last battle he fought. Beowulf still
decided to fight the dragon, even though it could have been his last day

How much would you have to worry about the consequences of your actions? This kind of nihilism isn t practical when you go out in public, but computation and social connectivity may be the closest thing, in the real world, to the construction of an actual nihilistic landscape. When you go online, you often won t have to worry about tarnishing your identity and reputation because, with anonymity, it never really existed to your audience in the first place. Here you have two major American political candidates from both the Democratic and Republican parties emphasizing the need for authority and moderation for the dangerous aspects of the World Wide Web. In one sense, it s easy for people to mock just how vague, naïve, and impractical this idea sounds, as shutting something down online doesn t necessarily prevent it from being built up again. In another sense, it s long overdue for politicians to start taking the issue of toxicity in global internet activity and reactivity very seriously. This issue is not so much about terrorism itself. Fundamentally speaking, it is about the downsides of the internet s global reach and the lack of exclusivity that dangerous ideas have because of social media s accessibility. In can be argued by the social contract theory that people, in general, will submit to their governments under a common law to live in a civil society. In other words, the authority of the law, and its ability to dish out consequences for actions, is what can ensure communal peace and security among people. But legislation has a notorious lag time in its ability to properly keep up with technology and its sociological uses. There arguably isn t a clearly defined social contract on the internet. PRICE Price is the most important factor in doing business especially in a service industry. It is because there is a tight competition in a service industry. So marketer need to consider a price that is similar or even lower than the market price. This is to help the industry to penetrate into the market as customer usually will consider price as the most important factor in selecting their service provider. Marketer can increase the price only if the company can provide better service than other competitors. The prices a company sets for its product and services must strike a balance between gaining acceptance with the target customers and making a profit for the organisation. Social workers and the profession as a whole should address problems related to minority groups to make our society equitable, just, and responsive to social justice. As a measure of this ethical standard, the content of the major journal of NASW (National Association of Social Work), Social Work, should reflect studies conducted by researchers on minority groups and their problems, which this study intends to analyze. Additionally, Council on Social Work Education has required social work schools to maintain cultural diversity in students enrollment, hiring of faculty, and the development of curricula (Trolander, 1997), but how well this diversity is reflected in research studies is a matter of exploration, which this study has tried to address by doing the content analysis of the most prestigious social work journal, Social ... The Constitution outlines many things that other countries don t offer their citizens such as freedom of speech, religion and the press. The First Amendment of the Constitutions guarantees that the United States people have rights to freedom of expression and freedom of religion without the interference of the government. The Bible states in Deuteronomy 17: 18 19, Now it shall come about when he sit on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests. The concept of selective incorporation according to We the People, was a progression by which different securities in the Bill of Rights were incorporated into the Fourteenth Amendment. In 1937 the courts were still unwilling to defend civil freedoms beyond the First Amendment. The first case that established selective incorporation was Palko v. Connecticut. The courts determined that the provisions of the Bill of Rights should be selectively combined and useful as a constraint on the states by the Fourteenth Amendment (Ginsberg et al. 117). Gideon v. Wainwright established the right to counsel during criminal courts . The Miranda v. Arizona likewise established the right to counsel and remain silent The incorporation that gained a lot of nationwide attention is McDonald v. Chicago where the right to bear arms was granted (Ginsberg et al. 118). This incorporation has paved the way for several national cities to pass gun laws. 2. The rights of the accused is based upon the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Eighth Amendment that creates the Due Process of Law (Ginsberg et al. 133). These laws protect accused criminals by engaging limitations on the governments against the liberty and freedom of the accused . A Brief Note On Deforestation And Charcoal Production Mahdi 8 Deforestation and Charcoal Production in Somalia Mahdi Haile DPP 911.01: Environ Factors in Development Practice Kalle Matso July 30, 2015 INTRODUCTION According to the information thrown from the course reveals that over the past 30 years, assessments of the woodfuel situation in developing countries, have changed substantially. In the mid 1970s, recognition that huge and growing numbers of people depended on fuelwood as their principal domestic fuel led to predictions of potentially devastating depletion of forest resources, with serious negative livelihood consequences for the rural poor, unless action was taken to address this ??fuelwood crisis? (Arnold,J.E, and Gunnar Hlin 2006). Charcoal consumption is often growing faster than fuelwood consumption. Though still less relative to fuelwood in most of Asia, charcoal use is becoming a much larger part of the woodfuels total in Africa and South America. In Africa, the aggregate of consumption of fuelwood and wood for charcoal is growing at a rate close to that of population growth. The overall quantities involved, and the numbers still relying on woodfuels continue to be very large. The International Energy Agency recently estimated that, although shifts to other sources of energy could be expected to substantially reduce the share of these fuels by 2030, biomass energy will still account for an mated three quarters of total residential energy in Africa in that year, and that the ... • 16. Moliere s Tartuffe By William Moliere The Enlightenment ushered in the idea that reason should be exercised in thinking instead of passion. Moliere s Tartuffe was written to challenge the dominant political and religious views of its time. The Catholic church viewed Moliere s Tartuffe as a threat to their faith and banned the play from being performed in public. Moliere became one of the great Enlightenment thinkers because of his willingness to speak out against the large corrupt institutions that many people did not have the courage to question. Marcel Gutwirth states, Who is Tartuffe? Who is the wretch come barefoot into the home of a man of some wealth and note who, in the teeth of almost universal detestation, establishes a grip upon that household so tenacious that the intervention of the sovereign is needed to shake him loose and send him packing? The play, as had been remarked, refuses to make up its mind. The rubicund glutton of the second act or the sinister jail bird of the fifth, the religious hypocrite or the professional confidence man, the professed nobleman the provinces or the penniless impostor make for a range that takes in some mutually exclusive possibilities. Two things stand out: he does lay claim to a very special relation to heaven; and, though far less overtly, sex exercises an equally strong claim on his person. Next, the department of defense also locates and punishes any terrorists who attack which is a difficult and dangerous task. As the secretary of defense, it is his or her duty to ensure that each branch in the United States military is well trained and prepared for any obstacle that they may face whether it be planned or unforeseen. Many of these secretaries are let go by the president due to a lack of confidence in them (Stevenson). The location of the tree holds great importance to sap collection. Trees in open environments such as lawns and roadsides have large crowns due to the lack of competition from other trees and therefore produce more sap that is often sweeter. To compare, a tree in an open setting has the capability to produce a gallon of maple syrup in one season, but a tree located in a forest can only produce about a quart of maple syrup in one season. The tree must you desire to tap be at least 10 inches in diameter when measured 4.5 feet above the ground. Also, trees between 10 and 20 inches should only have one tape, trees 20 to 25 inches can sustain two taps, and trees more than 25 inches in diameter may have three or more taps. So, after your trees have been selected the next step is to determine when to tap trees. In Northeastern United States, sap begins to flow in the spring from late January to early February. The time between mid February and March is often the most productive period of the sap collection season. In order for sap to flow, temperatures must rise over 40° F during the day time and drop below 32° F during the nighttime. The sap will also fluctuate throughout the 4 to 6 week season. Chances are she has her KitchenAid Mixer pulled out of the cupboard and is in the middle of dumping all the delicious ingredients into it to create the perfect pie. KitchenAid is an American home appliance brand owned by Whirlpool Corporation. The company was started in 1919 by The Hobart Corporation to produce stand mixers. An entire kitchen of high performance appliances were created all with the same attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, versatile technology and design. The KitchenAid Mixer has turned into a timeless classic. It still remains the Cadillac, or BMW, of food preparation appliances. • 43. Vaccine Effectiveness Of The Shingles Vaccine Essay The shingles vaccine has been available in the United States since 2006 and is an effective method in preventing individuals, especially those aged 60 years or older, from developing a herpes zoster infection1. However, even though immunization is a relatively easy prevention method, many older adults are not receiving the shingles vaccine. Though some individuals may choose to not be vaccinated for personal or religious reasons, other barriers do exist. Limited physician education of the national recommendations and vaccine effectiveness has resulted in less than 25% of eligible older adults receiving the herpes zoster vaccine as of 20152. Lack of proper storage capabilities has also limited many clinics from carrying the vaccine. The shingles vaccine must be stored frozen and administered within thirty minutes, which is not always feasible for primary care or community based clinics3. Luckily, public health professionals have been focusing on shingles vaccination among older adults and some interventions have emerged with the goal to increase its uptake. One intervention strategy in particular aims to improve immunization rates by addressing lack of education and support. This program team utilized a team approach combined with educational opportunities, focusing specifically on primary care settings4. Gannon, et. al. (2012) explored this team approach in their study involving 17 primary care practices who were recruited from the ACP quality and practice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Five Steps In The Departure Of The Hero s Quest There are five steps in the Departure of the Hero s Quest. The first step of the Departure is The Call to Adventure. This is the point in the character s life when he realizes he is going to have to go on the Hero Quest. Beowulf experienced The Call to Adventure when he realized what Grendel was doing to Heorot, and he felt obligated to help King Hrothgar because he is his father s friend. The second step of the Departure is the Refusal of the Call. The Refusal of the Call is when the hero first refuses the call because of fear, insecurity, etc. This step is not included in Beowulf.
