Rhetorical Analysis Of Barack Obama s State Of The Union
In his State of the Union Address for 2016, Barack Obama uses logical and ethical arguments to
emphasize shared ground rather than partisan disputes. He also taps into the audience s desire to feel
better about themselves and their country. By using humor and irony, Obama paints his opponents into
corners, out of which it would require outrageous extremism to effectively squirm away. At its best,
this approach demonstrates how much Americans actually have in common in a culture dominated by
ideologically polarized cable news channels, Facebook, and cultural tribes that increasingly live and
socialize apart from one another. The president s technique throughout the speech is to frame issues
through a rhetorical jujitsu to persuade his opponents, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using rhetorical jujitsu, he reframes Republican arguments into a context that ensures that his own
policies appear very strong. His opponents in the audience were often at a loss, never confident in
whether or not they should applaud. Paul Ryan, visible throughout, makes it very hard to discern what
policies he supports and opposes by basically having no reaction at all. He shifts uncomfortably in his
chair throughout the speech, and barely claps for anything. Obama s emphasis on a shared American
identity (55:00) is ultimately a criticism against both right and left against the sort of right winger who
sees Obama himself as a strange foreigner and the sort left winger who sees ethnic or gender identity
as the most important aspect of an individual s identity. Obama s rhetoric at odds with both of

Essay on Abuses in the Food Industry
Oppression has always been a concept that humanity has turned its head too. Whether that means a
country is being governed by a dictatorship, an individual race being discriminated against, or
immigrants in a country not being able to find adequate working environment. Even today, big
businesses and individual supervisors are oppressing many people, specifically immigrants in the
lowest jobs available. Books like Fast Food Nation and documentaries like Food Inc. have brought
light to the situation of the grotesque, dangerous, and immoral environment in which many people are
forced to work within the American food system. Situations like the ones discussed in Fast Food
Nation also brings to attention the ethical principles of the labor ... Show more content on

If this worker were to slip his/her hand while slicing the carotid artery, there could be very severe
consequences or injuries for the individual worker, or anybody working close by (Schlosser 236).
Workers are required to preform these mind numbing tasks for 8 hours per day. Because there is little
room for mechanical improvement in processing cattle due to their inconsistency in size and weight,
companies are still reliant on physical labor to process the meat (Schlosser 239). This shows that the
methods that are used today have not changed drastically from the methods that people had to use
nearly half a century ago. Within the factories, most of the workforce consists of illegal immigrants,
whom are unable to find jobs anywhere else. The documentary Food Inc. discusses this problem in a
scene looking at working conditions in slaughterhouses. The documentary articulates that, being a
meat packer in the 1950′s was like being an auto mechanic. It was considered to be a decent job with a
decent wage, benefits, and a pension plan. Now, it is the most dangerous job and employs many
immigrants. The documentary shows a scene where these illegal immigrant workers were recruited by
the meat companies, and shuttled in to work by company owned vans. Because these individuals

Thomas Jefferson Pirates Chapter Summaries
Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates is about the US Tripoli War of 1801 1805 that took place
during Jefferson s presidency. The book starts off with the newly independent United States facing the
difficulties of all the states that operated in the Mediterranean faced, which was the risk of trade
disruptions and capture by the Barbary States. The first four chapters talk about the efforts and
struggles the United States faced when dealing with Barbary during the 1780s and 1790s before war
actually breaks out in chapter five.
For years and years the leaders of Tripoli which is located in the Middle East had been taking over
merchant ships from either the Americans or the or the Europeans. The Tripoli pirates would take over
ships and sell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Crews from the ships would be held captive and tortured for years and months on end. The United
States tried their hardest to keep the peace in line but nothing was working. So the United States army
set off on the USS George Washington to Algerines and Tripoli to settle things. A man by the name of
Thomas Jefferson was inaugurated as president in the year of 1801 and not long after he would send
warships to Tripoli and confront the pirates face to face for their doings. This caused a blockade so no
pirates would be able to attack the merchant ships. What this action would do was not what Jefferson
thought would happen but as an outcome an all out war broke loose between Jefferson s army and the
Tripoli pirates and their allies. The war would go on and on off the coast. The blockade only held for
so long. Finally the pirates would make their way through and ships started to come up on shore. The
USS Philadelphia hit shore in Tripoli s harbor and the pirates captured it. A young navy member then
snuck onto the ship and set it on fire during an enemy gun fire, destroying any goods the pirates could
get their hands on or even stop them from rebuilding the ship and turning it against the United States
Navy. The war would continue for a while until finally peace agreements were made and the U.S
Navy fled the scene. This whole action by Jefferson showed braveness in not only him but the U.S
Navy to

Therapeutic Cloning Research Paper
Cloning Can Be Beneficial
Cloning, can be beneficial to human society. Theres many types of cloning but, the one that benefits
society today is known as therapeutic cloning. Therapeutic cloning, is the removal of a nucleus, which

Cassius Speech Analysis
In Act I, Scene 2, the purpose of Cassis speech is to persuade Brutus to distrust Caesar, and to join him
in a conspiracy against Caesar. In his speech to Brutus, Cassius uses a variety of persuasive and
rhetorical devices to persuade Brutus to join his cause against Caesar. Cassius is desperate to have
Brutus on his side because of his close relation to Caesar and great respect and trust from the people of
Rome. The tone of Cassius speech to Brutus is introduced with Cassius appealing to Brutus sense of
responsibility towards Rome. Cassius tells Brutus that he has, Heard where many of the best respect in
Rome, except immortal Caesar, speaking of Brutus and groaning underneath this age s yoke, have
wished that noble Brutus had his eyes (I.ii.64 68). Cassius tells Brutus that he is admired by Rome,
appealing to Brutus value of putting Rome ahead of himself. Cassius uses knowledge of this value to
his advantage in his speech, insisting that killing Caesar will be for the good of Rome. Cassius also
introduces his speech by persuading Brutus that he is honorable and can be trusted. Cassius tells
Brutus that, Honor is the subject of my story (I.ii.99). This appeals to the speaker Cassius credibility
and has an ethical appeal on Brutus, or ethos. This appeal is effective because it connects with
something that Brutus values, honor. In Cassius speech to Brutus, he uses a comparison comparing
Caesar to a Colossus saying, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we
petty men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves (I.ii.142
144). Cassius is using an analogy comparing Caesar to Colossus, which was a large statue. Cassius
again uses Brutus value of honor to persuade when he tells Brutus that if Caesar is in power, he and
Brutus will die dishonorable deaths. During the time period, an honorable death was very important to
noble Romans, especially Brutus. When Cassius is comparing the two names Brutus and Caesar, he
uses the strategy of asking rhetorical questions. Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar?
Why should that name be sounded more than yours?(I.ii.149 151). Cassius also asks, Upon what meat
doth this our Caesar feed that he

Security Torque Sticker
1. You will want to make sure and begin by taking the console and turning it over on its top, and
position it to the point that you can have direct access to the ports. This is where you will find a screw
that will have a sticker pertaining to your warranty. Take this sticker off and discard it Remove this
sticker as it will not be that important in the long term.. Underneath the sticker you will find a security
torque screw. This is here to deter you from being tempted to open your console up and do regular
cleaning on it. Remove the screw with the special T8 screwdriver that you have as this will be the only
way to remove the screw.

sure the thermal pads on the plate stay on or remain on the motherboard.

as screwing this up can leave your system being nothing more than a paperweight. Once you have
removed all of the screens and other screws that hold this in place, you will once again want to use
your pliers to remove these cables. Once they are all loose and free from the case, your motherboard
should come out without any issues.
10. Finally removing the screws from the plate under the motherboard as well as the few in the back

Analysis Of Strawberry Spring By Stephen King
Stephen King is the author of many novels and short stories with creepy settings; King admits that he
even has a fear of bugs to add to the list of things that freaks him out. In one of his earlier short stories
from 1976, several women at New Sharon Teachers College fall victim to a Jack the Ripper style
character with a mysterious fog that weighs heavy over the campus. King, the narrator, also a student,
leads us on a twisted tale in a foggy New England town to search who committed the horrifying acts.
My analysis of King s use of the literary elements, together with his history of horror reflected from
his short story, Strawberry Spring ( The Fact Site, 8 Apr. 2017) Author Stephen Edwin King was born
on September 21, 1947, in Portland, Maine. King is one of the most famous and successful horror
writers of all time. His parents, Donald, and Nellie Ruth Pillsbury King, split up when he was very
young, and he and his brother David divided their time between Indiana and Connecticut for several
years. King graduated from Lisbon Falls High School in 1966 and attended the University of Maine at
Orono and wrote for the school s newspaper and obtained a degree in English in 1970. Late 1971, he
began working as an English educator at Hampden Academy and married fellow writer Tabitha
Spruce. In 1973, King sold his first novel, Carrie and the book became an enormous success being
published the following year. More popular novels followed, including Salem s Lot (1975), The

Should Naps be allowed for Adults? There are many possibe benefits to napping mid day as an adult.
In my Essay i will list a couple of reasons why it should be allowed. The United states suffers from
sleep deprivation in it s citizens, which can hinder their performance on the job, school, etc. This can
be relieved a bit if the said people were allowed to nap sometime during the lunchbreaks they recieve.
It would increase their performance and Employer s productivity would inturn increase aswell.

after having napped midday. Inturn this would make for a better learning experience but also more

Pay Day Loan Research Paper
Any loan resulting in a release of cash during times of immediate financial crises would be termed as
best payday loan. It is only after the purpose for which the loan was taken gets satisfied that we start
thinking critically of the loan. It will be wrong to term this tendency as selfishness. Payday loans are
actually made dearer by loan providers. Many borrowers actually decide to take loans at any terms
stated by the lenders because of the urgency involved in the situation. Lenders will not miss to profit
of this opportunity. Thus, we find best payday loans costing dearly to its borrowers. High rates of
interest and large fees are often appended to the payday loan, thus increasing the cost of the payday
loan.

Depending on the needs of the borrowers and the lending policy adhered to by the lender, the
borrowable amount may further go upwards. These funds will be used by borrowers to expend with
ease.
Payday loans are short term loans. The amount has to be returned with the interest within a month;
sometimes within weeks. Lenders may employ different methods to get back the money. The most
popular of these is the post dated cheque system. The cheque is dated for presentation on the desired
date. On the specific date, the amount is automatically cut from the borrowers account. For this
purpose, some loan providers would require the borrower to have a checking account.
The post dated cheque may also serve as collateral. In this sense, Best payday loans may also be
regarded as secured loans. Borrowers, who desire to have best payday loans without the clause of
collateral, will have to further search the UK financial market. The concept of unsecured payday loans
is fast catching up with lenders in the UK, and it may not be much difficult to have best payday loans
without collateral.
There are certain essentials that the borrower needs to have in order to become eligible for best payday
loans. The borrower needs to be employed with a regular income that is transferred directly into his
bank account. The borrower must have a chequebook and a checking account as mentioned before.
An important advantage of best payday loans is that credit history

The Causes And Effects Of The Naxal Movement In India
Asia has been known to be a continent that has been colonized by many Western countries. Asia
has been through many experiences following the colonization of those Western countries. These
experiences both include the good and the bad side of being colonized, namely the many
different influences like cultures, ideologies, and many other things shared to us by the Western
people, but the bad side of being colonized will not be forgotten. Asia has experienced a lot of
violence and undergone being oppressed by the Western people, but violence in Asia isn t only
done by the colonizers and at times, the people in the continent and countries hurt and do

The problem has been in the
Indian state s perception of the causes of the Naxal movement. The Naxalites control territory
throughout Bihar, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh states and claim to be supported by the poorest
of the rural population, especially the Adivasis. The Naxalites have frequently targeted tribal,
police and government workers in what they say is a fight for improved land rights and more
jobs for neglected agricultural labourers and the poor. The Naxalites claim that they are
following a strategy of rural rebellion similar to a protracted people s war against the
government. The first combat deaths of the insurgency were in 1980. Around 1,100 people are
known to have died during 2009. The number includes 600 civilians, 300 security personnel and
200 rebels. There were more than 40,000 displaced people in 2006. According to the Institute of

exposed them to injury and death. However the same accusation has been levelled at the state
sponsored Salwa Judum anti Maoist group, and Special Police officers (SPOs) assisting the

The Effect Of Aggregate Demand On The Economy
As supported by the minutes released from the November meeting of the Federal Open market
Committee, the economy continues to strengthen and looks as though it will remain healthy through
the foreseeable future. The economy has returned to normalcy in terms of Consumer Price since the
hurricanes hit Florida and Texas, as evidenced by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers:
Gasoline(all types) which is portrayed in the graph below. The FOMC has also reported that inflation
is projected to remain below the two percent for at least the next two quarters. The the inflation rate is
expected to increase to two percent by the medium term which will stabilize it at the Fed s target goal.
This growth in the inflation rate is demonstrated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concern with the current slow growth of the Fed Funds Rate is that there is a similar pattern as
there was prior to the decline in 2008, where inflation tanked and the Fed Funds Rate, which was high
at 4.24% was not enough to halt the inflation drop. The similar pattern in inflation and the Fed Funds
Rate can be seen in the two graphs below. If the Federal Open Market Committee does not increase
the rate of the growing Fed Funds Rate within the next few quarters the likeliness of another recession
increases. Although it would not be as extensively damaging as the recession in 2008, a recession
would be nonetheless detrimental to the economy, as we would be set back in all the economical
progress that has been made in the past 10 years, as shown in the graphs above. Currently, the Federal
Reserve has set the rate to rest at a target range of 1 to 1 1/4 percent. The Federal Open Market
Committee acknowledged in their November meeting that inflation has more headway to make until it
is at the two percent mark they have set as a long term target. This situation contains both positive and
negative elements. A low inflation rate benefits consumer confidence, because consumers are easily
able to manage the gradual inflation and do not see change reflected in day to day consumption since
inflation rises slowly. However, with a low Federal Funds Rate, and the potential for inflation to

Congregation Analysis Paper
In the small congregation I attend, which consists of sixty mostly older faithful believers, the Book of
Common Prayers is their Bible. The congregation uses the Book of Common Prayer or the bulletin in
church. There seem to be no question on which Rite is used. The Prayer Book class was offered to
them as a group, no one step forth. I have never seen anyone from All Saints congregation holding or
having a Bible with them. Reverend Janis has tried to get some of the congregation to take classes

They seem to be focus on their own church and not the whole Episcopal Church. Many in the
congregation believe that new members should be confirmed and be baptized in their home church
and not in the other local Episcopal Churches in the Northern Tier. (Congregation belief, when a
person joins a church or comes to be baptized, it is an individual response to the gospel and their new
home church). Last year we had two new members join All Saints and were confirmed over at St. Paul
s Episcopal Church. The Bishop has a Diocesan Schedule, time when she visits each of the Northern
Tier Churches. All Saints bishop visitation is this year 2017. There were only four All Saints members
which showed up for the confirmation. One significant problem in this small church is their feeling of
isolation from the institutional church, Episcopal Diocese. The congregation often considers
themselves as the church, as a family of local Christians. The Church congregation lives mostly in the
past and clings to the historical Church as their Church. The congregation has old embedded ways of
thinking and old ways of the heart. I have commented at the vestry meetings on the parish lack and
loss of fellowship in the last few years. No more coffee hour, no fellowship meals, and lack of Church
mission. Their response is lack of volunteer and lack of funds and

A Lacanian Study of Motherhood in the Poems of William...
William Wordsworth was a prolific poet of the Romantic movement, perhaps best known for
publishing Lyrical Ballads with friend and fellow poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge in 1798. These poems
were written in what Wordsworth described as a common tongue with a focus on themes often found
in Romantic poetry, such as the pastoral, the mythical, fragmentation, heroism and satire. In Lyrical
Ballads one recurring subject almost unique to Wordsworth in its passion and persistence is that of
motherhood. The connection between womanhood and nature make it a frequently explored theme for
many poets, such as Blake in his Songs of Innocence. However, I have chosen to focus on Wordsworth
since motherhood is not only examined at great length in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It takes place when the infant, between the ages of six and eighteen months, looks into a mirror and
recognises its reflection. This may be traumatic for the child, since viewing a whole image provokes
the notion of the fragmented body, its own undeveloped form not yet fully under its control. However,
ultimately this stage is one of liberation. The infant, for all its physical incapability is able to identify
itself and yet it is free from its functions as a subject that it will later undergo as it is indoctrinated into
the world of language. This primary sense of ego in its own reality is later destroyed by social
determination and the constructs of normality, putting the I in a place of permanent discordance with
reality. This disturbance is similar to Freud s concept of the uncanny, described by Bennett and Royle

the mercy of a new world. However, our relation to the nature of this new world is distorted

There are many ways of learning. Every person learns differently. However, it is irrefutable that
everybody learns via actions. In Coates novel, Between the World and Me, he discusses his education
through living in the world opposed to just reading about it. The knowledge you earn from
experiencing is in my opinion way more worthwhile than the knowledge you receive from a
classroom. So, what is the difference between the places you may learn? To begin, in the classroom
the history we are taught differs from what we live. We learn about our country s resilience, our
strength, our bravery. Coates makes a point on this he states, America makes no claim to the banal.

The Importance Of Critical Thinking From Affecting School...
The importance for an individual to be able to think critically has become a hot topic within recent
years. Many adults are entering the workforce and are unable to complete aspects of their jobs that
require them to think critically. Many are products of an education system that consisted of multiple
choice assessments that only required them to recall the information, not to evaluate and synthesize it.
Initiatives have been put in place to prevent this lack of critical thinking from affecting school aged
children. More recently these initiatives have moved into higher education as well.
Critical thinking is defined in many different ways. Like many other researchers in the field of critical
thinking Halpern (1993) argues that there is little agreement on the definition of critical thinking.
However, she believes that overlap in various definition of the concept does exist. One of the main
themes throughout the multiple definitions is that critical thinking is a higher order cognitive skill.
This means that more information is needed to solve the problem or answer a question than just basic
recall information or lower order thinking. Halpern (1998) describes higher order skills as being
relatively complex in nature. Higher order skills require judgment, analysis, and synthesis. They are
not applied in a rote or mechanical manner. This type of thinking is thinking that is reflective,
sensitive to the context, and self monitored.
Moore (2011) acknowledges that a debate

Difficile Infection
Introduction The increased rates of infection may be attributed to the 3 primary risk factors:
hospitalization, changing patterns of antibiotics use, Age 65 year and more susceptible population.
Classically, any exposure to antibiotics (particularly clindamycin, ampicillin or amoxicillin,
cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones) was a major risk factor for the development of CDI. However,
Hospitalization provides not only a reservoir, but also a vector for transmission. Also, second risk
factors may be attributed to the Manipulation of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g., surgery),

difficile infection, but all of these methods have limitations and some of them are now considered
suboptimal(2). The ideal laboratory test for CDI would be sensitive, specific, rapid, simple to perform,
and inexpensive. Culture Just after the discovery of the pathogenic role of C. difficile proposed a
selective agar plate called CCFA (cycloserine cefoxitin fructose agar) for the isolation from stool
specimens. The selective agents are cycloserine at a concentration of 500 mg/L and cefoxitin at 16
mg/L. Culture is the most sensitive method but it is not very specific due to the possibility of isolating
non toxigenic isolates (14). Fecal diagnostic tests anaerobic toxigenic culture of C. difficile and the
cell culture cytotoxicity assay, with neutralization with clostridial antitoxin, are the most sensitive for
diagnosis of CDI but time consuming (5). For many years, cell culture cytotoxicity neutralization
assay (CCCNA) was the accepted gold standard. By this method, stool filtrates are inoculated onto a
monolayer of a cell culture in wells with and without C. difficile antitoxin. CCCNA is quite specific
for CDI. However, the assay is expensive, lacks standardization among laboratories and is generally
unavailable outside the research setting (11). The enzyme immunoassay (EIA) became broadly used
because of its rapidity in performance, but EIA used for toxin detection lack sensitivity and are

Free Association Psychology
I chose to respond to this essay topic because psychology is based on observations. I find it fascinating
to people watch. There is a reason for every gesture your body makes. A sound, picture, memory,
person, etc. can trigger you to respond using your facial and body expressions. In chapter 5 Karen
Horney s method of free association has a different technique compared to Freud s. As mentioned by
Shultz (2013) She suggested that analysis should be an exquisitely cooperative enterprise between
patient and therapist (p.153). Karen Horney did have a couch, but not all her patients chose to make
use of it. Allowing the patient to choose freely how they expressed themselves in the therapy
environment allowed the patient to show their true self.

Marketing Environment Analysis
This section presents relevant background data on the current financial macro environment, market
segmentation, competition, target market, product and distribution. The data has been obtained from
the Marketing Manager and the IT department.
Macro Environment
The market for home loans has had a dramatic downturn since the US Sub Prime mortgage crisis. The
impact of the credit crunch has been felt here in Australia as well. The collapse in house sales is
putting the bite on Australia s 80,000 Real Estate Agents. Sales are down, by 24 per cent in the March
quarter according to RP Data, and each sale is taking longer (Singer,M,Harley R 2008)
This decrease in demand for home loans has arrived at the same time as the availability of wholesale
funds has dried up and the Stock Market has experienced one of its worst performances in the past ten
years. Peter Franzen, Executive Chairman of Matrix Planning Solutions Limited describes the current
market volatility. The Australian share market has undergone a tumultuous few months experiencing
high market volatility. Some investors are, understandably, nervous

China Occupation
During the occupation of China by Japan, a time of slaughter for civilians and soldiers alike, the
international committee built a safety zone to protect innocent civilians from the chaos. The zone help
saved over 200,000 Chinese civilians from the ruthless slaughters during the Nanking Massacre of
1937, and later stayed to help rebuild Nanjing after the Devastation attack. Each country has different
views of what they believe was the start of WWII. But Asians trace the war s beginnings all the way
back to Japan s first attempt to dominate East Asia the occupation of Manchuria in 1931 (Schreiber 1)

Cost Systems
Costing Systems Costing systems are part of the overall accounting system used by companies to
measure sustainability performance and identify and account for expenditures accurately (Tatum,
2011). Three cost methods used as part of the decision making process are Activity based costing
(ABC), Life cycle costing (LCC), and Full cost accounting (FCA). The benefits and limitations of
each in relation to sustainability efforts are examined.
Analysis
Comparison Traditional cost accounting methods were based on labor intensive industries consisting
of no automation and minor product specialization or diversification (Emblemsvag, 2010). Cost was
driven by product development and services (Epstein, 2008). However, activity based ... Show more

Thus, while ABC focuses on cause and effect related to activities, LCC measures present and future
costs of a business activity, product, or service (Dorf Kusiak, 1994). Full Cost Accounting (FCA) is
the third account system. FCA determines the price of products and services by assessing their true
cost including social and environmental costs (Conway Schempf, 2011). FCA incorporates the bottom
line costs of a company s activities with the impact of these activities on the full social costs to society
(Conway Schempf, 2011). For example, societal costs from business activities include external costs
such as health issues from car emissions. Inasmuch as many externalities are intangibles such as
preserving ecosystems, factoring them into a company s cost structure is problematic. However,
according to Conway Schempf (2011), recognizing these externalities makes long term sense for
corporations and governments today s external costs become tomorrow s internal costs as a result of
regulation and legislation (p. 19). Thus, FSA allows companies to place a dollar value on costs
connected with present and future environmental changes (IISD, 2011). Consequently, FSA relates
LCC s financial impact of the stages of a product, service, or activity by accounting for the full

The Economic Position On The Business Cycle
he business cycle, also known as the trade cycle, is defined as the fluctuation in economic activity that
an economy experiences over a period of time (SOURCE). Basically, the trade cycle is the alternating
cyclical movement of economic conditions; phasing through periods of expansion, peaks,
contractions, troughs and recoveries. Predicting the whereabouts of a nation and its economy on the
trade cycle is a very important challenge; as the determination of current and forecasted economic
conditions allows governments, firms and households alike to navigate the economy and prepare for
future issues. In today s article, the Australian economic position on the business cycle will be
forecasted using a range of different reports, models and economic criterion. THE REPORTS Current
reports, experts and articles all indicate that conditions of the global economy are currently very poor.
Looking past a number of singularities and minor issues, most reports point towards three main
economic issues as the cause of the weak worldwide markets; poor productivity in China, recent
slumps in the value of commodities, and minimal investor confidence. This section will analyse
exactly what these issues are, how they are effecting the global economy and what impact they have
on Australia.
Starting with China, the Motley Fool recently reported that falls in the level of productivity and
economic movement in the country resulted in a worldwide reduction of foreign trade and investment.

How To Tie A Barbell
Different exercises vary on everything from the range of motion, the amount of weight moved, and
stress put on the body. A exercise or movement can occur using one joint, two joints, three joints, etc.
One exercise that is mainly a strength exercise rather than a hypertrophy exercise would be for
example the hang clean and jerk. Many athletes use this exercise for upper and lower body strength.
From the starting position the barbell with weights on each side is at rest on the ground and by the end
of the movement the barbell should be straight above your head with your arms straight up. There are
a few tips that you should know when performing this exercise for maximal strength purposes and
most importantly safety. For starters, when lifting the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the time when athletes are performing this exercise the weight being moved is extremely high
and heavy for example anywhere for 150 pound to 400 pounds. Nobody can really just use pure
strength to move that kind of weight above their body. Momentum is your best friend which is gonna
help you finish this exercise along with the ability of your strength obviously. To finish the lift you
will bend at your knees again not to where you squat all the way down but to where you can feel
yourself building up enough momentum to jerk the weight up above you. Finally you should stomp
your feet against the floor to finish the momentum jerk press portion of this lift. Now the lift is
complete and the barbell should be high above your body and with the lift safely performed. This
exercise will help with lower body strength with the squating motion and upper body strength with the
getting under the bar part. This builds core strength and pressing strength which is outstanding for
athletes in many sports such as football, wrestling, baseball, boxing, etc. The best athlete has great

Credibility is when how much you can or can t trust someone. If all someone does is goof around and
not follow directions then they have a low credibility. If you can trust someone and they don t goof

volumes of Due Bills a. Allocate 100% of profits from customer fees to Metro b. Aligning Metro s

Waitakere Range Research Paper
The Waitakere Ranges are home to many flora and fauna. These plants and animals make up the
communities within their ecosystem. They interact with each other through competition and various
relationships. In the Waitakere Ranges, there are several habitats organisms live in:
Forests and shrub lands
Freshwater wetlands, lakes and streams
Coastal wetlands, dunes, and estuarine tidal flats and channels
Urban area
The populations of each habitat vary, as they would be dependent on abiotic factors such as: light,
temperature, water and soil.
Within communities, organisms compete for limited resources (food, space, mates, shelter). 613 of our
native species (plants, birds, fish), compete with 240 introduced plant species, 19 introduced bird
species, 9 introduced mammals and 2 amphibians. It is estimated that we have lost 30 native bird
species due to this competition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, primary consumers such as snails and weta eat producers, consuming their nutrients. Secondary
consumers, such as Kereru, Tui and Long Tailed Bats then consume these insects, with energy passing

species as they are threats to populations of our native birds.
Pests in the Waitakere ranges include wasps, mould, rats, goats and pigs. These species are considered
predators and parasites, these species benefit while their prey species is harmed. Wasps and mould kill
native trees for shelter and food. Rats, goats and pigs prey on native species of birds, insects and
fauna. Predation by introduced species of native species both threatens native populations, but also the
balance of the ecosystem. With predatory niches being taken, these pests not only threaten their prey,

Copyright Infringement is Immoral
The average person wouldn t even consider walking into a music store and stealing a CD, however,
with today s technology getting music without paying for it is so easy it barely seems illegal.
Copyright infringement is a huge ethical issue going on right now. From downloading movies and
music from peer to peer programs as well as various websites to being able to stream a movie at the
click of a button without a copy ever being saved on the computer it s so simple, anyone could get
addicted to doing it. For some of these reasons many argue that copyright infringement is a moral
thing to do, but on the other hand others believe it is just as immoral as stealing. When comparing and
contrasting reasons for why copyright infringement is moral and why it is immoral I think when it
comes down to it it is stealing and would obviously be immoral. Before comparing the morality of
copyright infringement it needs to be understood what copyright infringement is and how it is done.
Coming directly from the United States Copyright Office. Copyright infringement is when a
copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative
work without the permission of the copyright owner (par 5). It s pretty obvious that downloading
copyrighted music from a website for free without owners permission is copyright infringement, but
there are other things that also constitute as infringement that many people haven t even considered.

The Agile Software Development ( Asd )
[1]The Agile software development (ASD) methodologies have been established in various streams
like academic, educational and also in professional software development. Understanding of how ASD
methodologies are used, the kind of acceptance, successes and failures they have in the mentioned
streams would be the main exploration. The findings from the web based survey of Microsoft
employees who involved in development, testing and management have indicated that around one
third of the people use ASD and the SCRUM is the most popular ASD methodology. [2]Agile methods
can be mainly used in environments which are unpredictable and helps in succeeding over such
environments which are in the reality today. This can be achieved by collecting the realigned
development goals continuously with the customer expected requirements. Agile methods concentrate
more on improvising the communications and interactions among all the stakeholders, promotes
constant feedback, focuses mainly on the error free code, transparency and constant testing to get
higher quality. Yet, agile practices are only subjected to a context. [3]The literature review is done
focusing on evaluating the agile methodology present in a selection of scientific software projects.
Both projects with complete agile practices and projects with certain degree of agile elements are
taken into consideration. This agility assessment helps in covering the two most important agile

had been advocating in the medical community for the increase in the practice of handwashing. Based
on the work of medical historian Dr. Howard Markel, we know that Dr. Semmelweis pioneered the

decline, as well as times of increased urbanization. Alongside this, there were changes in labor
management and religious conversion had an effect on the relationship of the genders in society as
well as family life. For the fourth period, Global Interactions, the major event that acted as its bookend
was state consolidation and imperial expansion. During this time, many rulers strived to strengthen
their power, so they resorted to using a variety of methods to accomplish that. Also, the increase of
gunpowder, cannons, and armed trade prompted imperial expansion. Large empire were established in
both hemispheres because of this. However, because there was competition over trade routes, as well
as state rivalries and local resistance, the development of state consolidation and imperial expansion

Dewitt Clinton Changed America Summary
This book describes what one person did to elevate his status by many different people. Through
politics DeWitt Clinton changed America by developing new ideas for the state of New York. His
handprint can be seen today from the accomplishments some people may see from him. A presidential
candidate who lost to James Madison in the election of 1812 thought his turn would be over, but in
fact it was just the beginning for him. Becoming a mayor and governor of New York and living up to a
legacy that came from his family lineage. Even one prominent aspect most people may recognize is
the way he constructed something that would one day be something prominent later in the future.
Evan Cornog the author of the book provides not only biography of DeWitt ... Show more content on

The transition through the chapters like graduating from college to becoming mayor was something
astounding to me because he was only seventeen when he graduated and about decade later he
becomes mayor of New York City. Evan Cornog captured the dedication of what Dewitt Clinton
portrayed, like the help to make New York City and New York one of the biggest thriving economies
of the 19th century. The book captured the parts of Dewitt Clinton s life by displaying the political
hardships he faced when confronting people like Aaron Burr who didn t like his stance on the Twelfth
Amendment and Thomas Jefferson hesitation on the constructing of the Erie Canal. Evan Cornog also
explains in the book that most of the information he gathered from Dewitt Clinton are mostly from the
public point of view of him, and he also states that most of the written journal s he examined were
very brief. I felt that the perspective that Evan Cornog had on Dewitt Clinton was the way people
talked about him. Like the time his college professor praised him after he died, and one of his uncle s
who was a doctor told him not to study too hard because it would make him sick that was the
dedication he set for himself. This biography of Dewitt Clinton gave a deeper insight on his plans for
the Erie Canal and the future that he imagined for the New York. New York City today is what Dewitt
Clinton was trying

Altruism VS The Selfish Gene Essay
Would you give a penny to the needy? How about a kidney? A heart?
The thought of spring break brings up images of partying in warm weather, drunken one night stands,
and the raging hangovers that follow; yet for Rachel Garneau, a junior at Notre Dame, it represented
an pseudo holiday opportunity for giving, and give she did. This twenty year old gave up a kidney for
a complete stranger. There was an air of psychosis to her as she walked right into the University Of
Chicago s Bernard Mitchell Hospital, calm as ever; her demeanor quite indifferent, her nonchalance
quite unnerving. Funny how we find this act of complete altruism weird ; because it is weird, all that
we know from evolution, Darwinism, basic human tendencies, and even the ... Show more content on

Studies conducted on the early developmental egalitarianism and parochialism in children show that
other regarding factors are, to some extend, exist as inherent tendencies in all humans: when allowed
to choose between how candy is distributed among an anonymous partner and themselves, the
children chose to be heavily selfless in their distribution. As Fehr et al. come to this startling
conclusion in their paper Egalitarianism in young children , we see how proper upbringing and
cultural norms are not solely responsible for our altruistic nature. We have evolved to take others into
consideration in our choices; we have evolved a heart .
The innateness of these selfless tendencies is exemplified by the close study of our primitive
ancestors. Frans de Waal, professor of psychology at Emory University, studied the habit of the greater
apes. In his work Homo homini lupus? Morality, the Social Instincts, and our Fellow Primates ,
deWaal talks about the surprising altruism we see in nature. Adult chimpanzees consolidate each other
after a fight; questioning all we know about how the wild is a cutthroat struggle for survival.
The most striking evidence was that of the lesser evolved Capuchins. In an experiment to test altruism
in the very basic human precursors, deWaal separated two Capuchian monkeys, Vulcan and Vergil,
giving one the

A Brief Look at The Beatles and Their Music
The Beatles would ultimately pursue a goal quite similar to that of Marx to change the way people
think about the world In order to create a better, more just world a theme particularly relevant in their
later work. Discuss.
Baur, S (2006) The Beatles and Philosophy Chicago: Open Court p87
Beatles music makes you feel good, even 30 years after first hearing it, I and many other fans get
intense pleasure from listening to the songs. By the age of 4 I was a keen listener, and by the age of 7 I
owned all their albums. My view of the world we live in was shaped to a greater or lesser extent by
the messages and music on those albums.
Before researching this topic, I have already in my mind my own understanding as to the Beatles goals
and their developing intentions throughout the decade, their involvement with political activity, and
what, in particular, Ono and Lennon sought to achieve in their ten month peace campaign during
1969.
The goals and philosophy of Marx, of a classless society and socialist order, reflected the civil,
feminist, sexual freedom and anti war movements of the 1960 s fairly closely. The sixties were also a
time when many people were freer to experiment with the social and political philosophy of Karl
Marx . Harris, J.F (1993). Philosophy at 33 1/3 Rpm: Themes of Classic Rock Music. Chicago: Open
Court Publishing. p42. Equal rights for all people irrespective of their race, or sex, or whatever else. In
isolation, these movements

  • 2. Rhetorical Analysis Of Barack Obama s State Of The Union In his State of the Union Address for 2016, Barack Obama uses logical and ethical arguments to emphasize shared ground rather than partisan disputes. He also taps into the audience s desire to feel better about themselves and their country. By using humor and irony, Obama paints his opponents into corners, out of which it would require outrageous extremism to effectively squirm away. At its best, this approach demonstrates how much Americans actually have in common in a culture dominated by ideologically polarized cable news channels, Facebook, and cultural tribes that increasingly live and socialize apart from one another. The president s technique throughout the speech is to frame issues through a rhetorical jujitsu to persuade his opponents, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using rhetorical jujitsu, he reframes Republican arguments into a context that ensures that his own policies appear very strong. His opponents in the audience were often at a loss, never confident in whether or not they should applaud. He shifts uncomfortably in his chair throughout the speech, and barely claps for anything. Obama s emphasis on a shared American identity (55:00) is ultimately a criticism against both right and left against the sort of right winger who sees Obama himself as a strange foreigner and the sort left winger who sees ethnic or gender identity as the most important aspect of an individual s identity. • 3. Essay on Abuses in the Food Industry Oppression has always been a concept that humanity has turned its head too. Whether that means a country is being governed by a dictatorship, an individual race being discriminated against, or immigrants in a country not being able to find adequate working environment. Even today, big businesses and individual supervisors are oppressing many people, specifically immigrants in the lowest jobs available. Books like Fast Food Nation and documentaries like Food Inc. have brought light to the situation of the grotesque, dangerous, and immoral environment in which many people are forced to work within the American food system. If this worker were to slip his/her hand while slicing the carotid artery, there could be very severe consequences or injuries for the individual worker, or anybody working close by (Schlosser 236). Workers are required to preform these mind numbing tasks for 8 hours per day. Because there is little room for mechanical improvement in processing cattle due to their inconsistency in size and weight, companies are still reliant on physical labor to process the meat (Schlosser 239). This shows that the methods that are used today have not changed drastically from the methods that people had to use nearly half a century ago. Within the factories, most of the workforce consists of illegal immigrants, whom are unable to find jobs anywhere else. The documentary Food Inc. discusses this problem in a scene looking at working conditions in slaughterhouses. The documentary articulates that, being a meat packer in the 1950′s was like being an auto mechanic. It was considered to be a decent job with a decent wage, benefits, and a pension plan. Now, it is the most dangerous job and employs many immigrants. The documentary shows a scene where these illegal immigrant workers were recruited by the meat companies, and shuttled in to work by company owned vans. Because these individuals ... The book starts off with the newly independent United States facing the difficulties of all the states that operated in the Mediterranean faced, which was the risk of trade disruptions and capture by the Barbary States. The first four chapters talk about the efforts and struggles the United States faced when dealing with Barbary during the 1780s and 1790s before war actually breaks out in chapter five. The United States tried their hardest to keep the peace in line but nothing was working. So the United States army set off on the USS George Washington to Algerines and Tripoli to settle things. A man by the name of Thomas Jefferson was inaugurated as president in the year of 1801 and not long after he would send warships to Tripoli and confront the pirates face to face for their doings. This caused a blockade so no pirates would be able to attack the merchant ships. What this action would do was not what Jefferson thought would happen but as an outcome an all out war broke loose between Jefferson s army and the Tripoli pirates and their allies. The war would go on and on off the coast. The blockade only held for so long. Finally the pirates would make their way through and ships started to come up on shore. The USS Philadelphia hit shore in Tripoli s harbor and the pirates captured it. A young navy member then snuck onto the ship and set it on fire during an enemy gun fire, destroying any goods the pirates could get their hands on or even stop them from rebuilding the ship and turning it against the United States Navy. The war would continue for a while until finally peace agreements were made and the U.S Navy fled the scene. This whole action by Jefferson showed braveness in not only him but the U.S Navy to ... • 6. Cassius Speech Analysis In Act I, Scene 2, the purpose of Cassis speech is to persuade Brutus to distrust Caesar, and to join him in a conspiracy against Caesar. In his speech to Brutus, Cassius uses a variety of persuasive and rhetorical devices to persuade Brutus to join his cause against Caesar. Cassius is desperate to have Brutus on his side because of his close relation to Caesar and great respect and trust from the people of Rome. The tone of Cassius speech to Brutus is introduced with Cassius appealing to Brutus sense of responsibility towards Rome. Cassius tells Brutus that he has, Heard where many of the best respect in Rome, except immortal Caesar, speaking of Brutus and groaning underneath this age s yoke, have wished that noble Brutus had his eyes (I.ii.64 68). Cassius tells Brutus that he is admired by Rome, appealing to Brutus value of putting Rome ahead of himself. Cassius uses knowledge of this value to his advantage in his speech, insisting that killing Caesar will be for the good of Rome. Cassius also introduces his speech by persuading Brutus that he is honorable and can be trusted. Cassius tells Brutus that, Honor is the subject of my story (I.ii.99). This appeals to the speaker Cassius credibility and has an ethical appeal on Brutus, or ethos. This appeal is effective because it connects with something that Brutus values, honor. In Cassius speech to Brutus, he uses a comparison comparing Caesar to a Colossus saying, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we petty men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves (I.ii.142 144). Cassius is using an analogy comparing Caesar to Colossus, which was a large statue. Cassius again uses Brutus value of honor to persuade when he tells Brutus that if Caesar is in power, he and Brutus will die dishonorable deaths. During the time period, an honorable death was very important to noble Romans, especially Brutus. When Cassius is comparing the two names Brutus and Caesar, he uses the strategy of asking rhetorical questions. Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar? Why should that name be sounded more than yours?(I.ii.149 151). Cassius also asks, Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed that he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Lyrical Ballads one recurring subject almost unique to Wordsworth in its passion and persistence is that of motherhood. This may be traumatic for the child, since viewing a whole image provokes the notion of the fragmented body, its own undeveloped form not yet fully under its control. The infant, for all its physical incapability is able to identify itself and yet it is free from its functions as a subject that it will later undergo as it is indoctrinated into the world of language. • 19. The Importance Of Critical Thinking From Affecting School... The importance for an individual to be able to think critically has become a hot topic within recent years. Many adults are entering the workforce and are unable to complete aspects of their jobs that require them to think critically. Many are products of an education system that consisted of multiple choice assessments that only required them to recall the information, not to evaluate and synthesize it. Initiatives have been put in place to prevent this lack of critical thinking from affecting school aged children. More recently these initiatives have moved into higher education as well. Critical thinking is defined in many different ways. Like many other researchers in the field of critical thinking Halpern (1993) argues that there is little agreement on the definition of critical thinking. However, she believes that overlap in various definition of the concept does exist. One of the main themes throughout the multiple definitions is that critical thinking is a higher order cognitive skill. This means that more information is needed to solve the problem or answer a question than just basic recall information or lower order thinking. Halpern (1998) describes higher order skills as being relatively complex in nature. Higher order skills require judgment, analysis, and synthesis. They are not applied in a rote or mechanical manner. This type of thinking is thinking that is reflective, sensitive to the context, and self monitored. Moore (2011) acknowledges that a debate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fecal diagnostic tests anaerobic toxigenic culture of C. difficile and the cell culture cytotoxicity assay, with neutralization with clostridial antitoxin, are the most sensitive for diagnosis of CDI but time consuming (5). For many years, cell culture cytotoxicity neutralization assay (CCCNA) was the accepted gold standard. By this method, stool filtrates are inoculated onto a monolayer of a cell culture in wells with and without C. difficile antitoxin. CCCNA is quite specific for CDI. However, the assay is expensive, lacks standardization among laboratories and is generally unavailable outside the research setting (11). The enzyme immunoassay (EIA) became broadly used because of its rapidity in performance, but EIA used for toxin detection lack sensitivity and are considered suboptimal for diagnosing C. The benefits and limitations of each in relation to sustainability efforts are examined. Thus, while ABC focuses on cause and effect related to activities, LCC measures present and future costs of a business activity, product, or service (Dorf Kusiak, 1994). Full Cost Accounting (FCA) is the third account system. FCA determines the price of products and services by assessing their true cost including social and environmental costs (Conway Schempf, 2011). FCA incorporates the bottom line costs of a company s activities with the impact of these activities on the full social costs to society (Conway Schempf, 2011). For example, societal costs from business activities include external costs such as health issues from car emissions. Inasmuch as many externalities are intangibles such as preserving ecosystems, factoring them into a company s cost structure is problematic. However, according to Conway Schempf (2011), recognizing these externalities makes long term sense for corporations and governments today s external costs become tomorrow s internal costs as a result of regulation and legislation (p. 19). Thus, FSA allows companies to place a dollar value on costs connected with present and future environmental changes (IISD, 2011). Consequently, FSA relates LCC s financial impact of the stages of a product, service, or activity by accounting for the full societal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During this time, many rulers strived to strengthen their power, so they resorted to using a variety of methods to accomplish that. Also, the increase of gunpowder, cannons, and armed trade prompted imperial expansion. Large empire were established in both hemispheres because of this. • 47. Dewitt Clinton Changed America Summary This book describes what one person did to elevate his status by many different people. Through politics DeWitt Clinton changed America by developing new ideas for the state of New York. His handprint can be seen today from the accomplishments some people may see from him. A presidential candidate who lost to James Madison in the election of 1812 thought his turn would be over, but in fact it was just the beginning for him. Becoming a mayor and governor of New York and living up to a legacy that came from his family lineage. Even one prominent aspect most people may recognize is the way he constructed something that would one day be something prominent later in the future. Evan Cornog the author of the book provides not only biography of DeWitt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The transition through the chapters like graduating from college to becoming mayor was something astounding to me because he was only seventeen when he graduated and about decade later he becomes mayor of New York City. Evan Cornog captured the dedication of what Dewitt Clinton portrayed, like the help to make New York City and New York one of the biggest thriving economies of the 19th century. The book captured the parts of Dewitt Clinton s life by displaying the political hardships he faced when confronting people like Aaron Burr who didn t like his stance on the Twelfth Amendment and Thomas Jefferson hesitation on the constructing of the Erie Canal. Evan Cornog also explains in the book that most of the information he gathered from Dewitt Clinton are mostly from the public point of view of him, and he also states that most of the written journal s he examined were very brief. I felt that the perspective that Evan Cornog had on Dewitt Clinton was the way people talked about him. Like the time his college professor praised him after he died, and one of his uncle s who was a doctor told him not to study too hard because it would make him sick that was the dedication he set for himself. This biography of Dewitt Clinton gave a deeper insight on his plans for the Erie Canal and the future that he imagined for the New York. New York City today is what Dewitt Clinton was trying ... • 48. Altruism VS The Selfish Gene Essay Would you give a penny to the needy? How about a kidney? A heart? The thought of spring break brings up images of partying in warm weather, drunken one night stands, and the raging hangovers that follow; yet for Rachel Garneau, a junior at Notre Dame, it represented an pseudo holiday opportunity for giving, and give she did. This twenty year old gave up a kidney for a complete stranger. There was an air of psychosis to her as she walked right into the University Of Chicago s Bernard Mitchell Hospital, calm as ever; her demeanor quite indifferent, her nonchalance quite unnerving. Funny how we find this act of complete altruism weird ; because it is weird, all that we know from evolution, Darwinism, basic human tendencies, and even the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Studies conducted on the early developmental egalitarianism and parochialism in children show that other regarding factors are, to some extend, exist as inherent tendencies in all humans: when allowed to choose between how candy is distributed among an anonymous partner and themselves, the children chose to be heavily selfless in their distribution. As Fehr et al. come to this startling conclusion in their paper Egalitarianism in young children , we see how proper upbringing and cultural norms are not solely responsible for our altruistic nature. We have evolved to take others into consideration in our choices; we have evolved a heart . The innateness of these selfless tendencies is exemplified by the close study of our primitive ancestors. Frans de Waal, professor of psychology at Emory University, studied the habit of the greater apes. In his work Homo homini lupus? Morality, the Social Instincts, and our Fellow Primates , deWaal talks about the surprising altruism we see in nature. Adult chimpanzees consolidate each other after a fight; questioning all we know about how the wild is a cutthroat struggle for survival. The most striking evidence was that of the lesser evolved Capuchins. In an experiment to test altruism in the very basic human precursors, deWaal separated two Capuchian monkeys, Vulcan and Vergil, giving one the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. A Brief Look at The Beatles and Their Music The Beatles would ultimately pursue a goal quite similar to that of Marx to change the way people think about the world In order to create a better, more just world a theme particularly relevant in their later work. Discuss. Baur, S (2006) The Beatles and Philosophy Chicago: Open Court p87 Beatles music makes you feel good, even 30 years after first hearing it, I and many other fans get intense pleasure from listening to the songs. By the age of 4 I was a keen listener, and by the age of 7 I owned all their albums. My view of the world we live in was shaped to a greater or lesser extent by the messages and music on those albums. Before researching this topic, I have already in my mind my own understanding as to the Beatles goals and their developing intentions throughout the decade, their involvement with political activity, and what, in particular, Ono and Lennon sought to achieve in their ten month peace campaign during 1969. The goals and philosophy of Marx, of a classless society and socialist order, reflected the civil, feminist, sexual freedom and anti war movements of the 1960 s fairly closely. The sixties were also a time when many people were freer to experiment with the social and political philosophy of Karl Marx . Harris, J.F (1993).
