Bring Back Flogging By Jeff Jacoby
An Analysis for Bring Back Flogging
In the essay written by Jeff Jacoby in Bring back Flogging The article is about how our prisons are
over populated with people that are in there because of the none violence crime, which make the
inmates to have higher chance of getting rape, beaten, or murder rather than getting whipped and
embarrassment in public, that could help them to make better choice in the future and also teaches
the public to behave the way that is acceptable in the society. Plus the cost that is associated with
these inmates to keep them in prison that cost the tax payers millions of dollars every year.
Jeff Jacoby uses a lot of his own opinion, in some instances he used what John Dilulio, who is a

What Gatchel says makes a lot of sense, that states being under budget for the prisons due to the
over population and since the income of a prison comes from tax payers, there is only so much
that jails can take to take care of the inmates. What he is suggesting is why not going back to the
old school ways of dealing with nonviolent crime, which costs a lot less than $30,000 a year to just
whippet someone.
I come from a country that they still handle small criminals the old ways, and big time criminals are
the only people that end up in jail, therefore when it comes to budgeting at the beginning of the
year, the country has more money to invest towards the people, rather than the criminals that are
part of the noncontributing part of the society.
The opposing issue that I can think of would be that some people might say that it is a cruel way
to treat someone when you degrade them in public, but what they don t realize is that when people

When they defined the problem, they have to set the research objectives. The marketing research
has three types:1.Exporatory research 2. Descriptive research 3. Casual research
First the company has to lead an exploratory research. Explore what the exact problem is: this
includes the gathering of preliminary information that will help define the problem and suggest
hypotheses. After gathering the information from exploratory, the company needs to define another
objective, which is descriptive in this case that is to ascertain certain magnitudes demographic
information. Some research is casual that is to test a cause and effect relationship.
Developing the research plan for collecting information
The second step of the marketing research process calls for determining the information needed,
developing a plan for gathering if efficiently and presenting the plan to marketing management. The
plan outlines sources of existing data and explains the specific research approaches, contact
methods, sampling plans and instruments that researchers will use to gather new data (Phillip
Kotler: Principles of marketing)
Secondary and primary research
Secondary data exist of information that already exists somewhere, having been collected for
another purpose. It is a quick way to get information and it is cheaper than primary data. Although
it can not provide all the necessary data, so primary

Foundations and Limits of Freedom of the Press
In Foundations and Limits of Freedom of the Press, Judith Lichtenberg explores the ongoing
controversial argument surrounding the regulation of the press and mass media. She evaluates the
ability of the press to shape our opinions and values through an examination of the interdependent
relationship between freedom of speechand press. Furthermore, she notes that, while the two
rights appear similar as they are both considered as forms of self expression, it is important to
differ between the two. While Lichtenberg states that freedom of speech and freedom of press are
inseparable and equally fundamental she also claims that there are distinct difference between the
two basic rights (Lichtenberg 329). She defines the freedom of speech as the equal foundational
right to symbolic expression of multiplicity of voices (Lichtenberg 337). The main difference
between freedom of speech and press lies in that freedom of press is in the public domain and once
self expression is launched into a public sphere, it threatens to restrict another s autonomy. Here
Lichtenberg uses the analogy of a restaurant to illustrate her claim. Although the restaurant may be
privately owned, its success depends on the public; therefore it ceases to remain an entirely private
institution (Lichtenberg 343). While freedom of speech concerns only the individual and is nearly
unconditional, freedom of press regards organizations that lies in the public domain therefore we it
should be exercised

The Competitive Advantage Of The Wine Industry
In the world of increasingly global competition every nation want to prove its product as the best in
the world. This phenomenon is called the competitive advantage of the nation, this can only be
created and sustained by immense sense of product knowledge, competition domestically and
internationally. Wineindustry is the one which faces the competition between the traditional wine
makers of the old world and the sophisticated wine producers of the New world. The healthy
competition among the producers and suppliers makes the consumers successful by providing the
best quality. The Old world refereed here constitutes the countries in Europe specifically France,
Italy and Spain and the New world refers to US, Chile, Argentina and Australia. France s
dominance of the wine industry has increasingly come under threat from emerging wine producers
who are more aggressive in marketing their product in the markets previously dominated by France.
Although France is still the world s largest wine producer, it has seen a substantial decline in its
global sales over the last one decade arising from a number of factors; some of them internal and
others which are external. In this case study we will be discussing about the Diamond of National
advantage and how the determinants creates the national environment in which the companies
compete with respect to the Wine industry. The

Unauthorized Check Fraud
Third party bill paying services are often misused to commit check fraud. The checks produced by
these service providers do not include the payor signature. Instead, the signature line reflects
something such as signature on file. Unauthorized checks produced by third party payment services
are usually not detected until the customer reviews the monthly bankstatement. By the time the
customer identifies the unauthorized check, it is often too late to recover the funds since the 24
hour window (actually until midnight of the next banking day) for the timely return of checks has
long since passed. These checks usually sail right through the check clearing system, since they
include good account information and sometimes even include good

Female Genital Mutilation is Sexual Abuse Essay
Female circumcision, also known as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), is a very dangerous
surgery. It is done to girls of any age, from a few days old to right before their wedding. The most
common age is three. In most countries where
FGM is practiced the clitoris is considered dangerous to the man. At one point they thought that if a
penis touched a clitoris, it would shrivel up and fall off.
Girls in Africa and parts of Asia are genitally mutilated for family honor, cleanliness, protection
against spells, insurance of virginity and faithfulness to the husband, or to terrorize women out of
sex. In the late 70 s and early 80 s parts of
Europe and the United States used circumcision as a way to cure over sexed or

The third type,
Infibulation, is the most severe and harmful type. In infibulation, the entire clitoris and both labia
are removed. Then the remaining tissue of the vulva are pinned together by catgut or silk sutures.
A tiny slit, for urination and menstruation, is left open by inserting a sliver of wood, a
matchstick, or reed into the vagina. After the surgery, the girl is bound from hip to ankle and
kept immobile for 40 days. This allows scar tissue to form. All three types result in many
harmful effects. Most of the effects of FGM are caused by the surgery taking place in an
unsanitary environment. Kitchen knives, scissors, razor blades, or pieces of glass are the most
common instruments used for the cutting. Unless performed in a hospital, the cutting tool is
generally rusty and very dirty. Instead of sterilizing the instrument between surgeries, it is placed
on dirt, ashes, or cow dung. This results in many infections. Using the same tool on several girls
also promotes the spread of HIV. Due to loss of blood and pain many girls suffer from shock.
Many women suffer from pelvic complications. Also urinary retention and urinary tract infections
are common among circumcised women. Due to loss of blood many of the girls suffer from week
bones, often resulting in fractures and breaks. The loss of the clitoris makes it impossible for the
woman to have an orgasm. If the person performing the

Essay on Effects of Nitrate on Water Quality
Water, water everywhere and not a drop to spare. This is the reality especially when regarding the
amount of freshwater available. Fact: The earth contains only 3.5% freshwater. Fact: 98.8% of all
freshwater is shielded from our grasp in glaciers or groundwater. Fact: Only 0.0003% of the Earth s
water is accessible for consumption. With such a minute quantity of freshwater available, the high
amount of pollution contaminating this water is appalling. Water quality levels are decreasing,
hurting us as well as the countless organisms depending on freshwater habitats to be safe homes.
One of the main contaminants, nitrates, which spring from mainly manmade sources, are especially

The ideal solution is to eliminate the source of contamination, which may not always be practical.
Hence, we need to look for ways to intercept and divert the contaminants from reaching fresh water
sources.
One option that is practical and easy to implement are constructed wetlands. Constructed wetlands
(CW) are like natural wetlands, but manmade. Wetlands, rightfully named, love the water and thrive
in water saturated environments. Because of this trait natural wetlands have long helped with
slowing runoff and other water management techniques including: consuming nutrients,
denitrification (converting nitrates into nitrogen gas to release back into the atmosphere), and
breaking down pesticides.
Can we adopt the same techniques to solve manmade nitrate contamination issues? The answer lies
in CW. These habitats are perfect for dealing with excess nutrients from agricultural or septic
wastewater runoff like nitrates. By slowing runoff, sediments and nutrients suspended on the
waterfall out of place, thereby, never reaching the rivers or lakes. The bountiful biological life of
wetlands consume or utilize excess nutrients. For the remaining nitrates, denitrification, the removal
of nitrates by converting them into nitrogen gas, occurs as well. Finally, wetlands break down
pesticides and fertilizers that enter the wastewater stream before they reach other freshwater
habitats. Other processes for managing high concentrations of

Analysis Of High School Based Television Shows Violence...
In high school based television shows there are constant themes of insecurity and the division of
popular kids and the outcasts. Unfortunately, that is how the world works, people are labeled and
associated with certain groups. These labels force people into thinking that they have to look a
certain way or follow popular trends. Just like Susannah Calahan in Brain on Fire, she suffers
from an illness and during her recovery she criticizes herself based off of what society expects
her to look like. Social norms are deeply entrenched in everyone s life to the point where
Susannah tries to hide her sickness and put on a strong face just to avoid being labeled as
abnormal. There is a sense of her fear of being ridiculed and alienated from her loved ones since
she does not fulfill the common image society has on women. Susannah is embarrassed by her
actions, her appearance and she refuses to accept that her new self is even a part of her identity.
Susannah does not view her post illness appearance as acceptable despite having no control over the
outcome. Identity is in fact a matter of social constructionsince Susannah s self esteem and
perception of herself deteriorates as she finds herself deviating from what is considered normal.
One important aspect of Susannah s illness is that it causes her to dramatically shift from a sociable
person to someone who cannot hold a conversation. Throughout the duration of her sickness and
her road to recovery, often times she cannot

Missouri. Following the successfully philosophy of, Take care of your customers and employees
first, and profits will follow , Enterprise grew steadily to become the nation s largest rent a car
company. What separated Enterprise from its other competitors such as Hertz, Avis, and Alamo was
the fact that the company focused on two segments of the home city market rather than appealing to
the airport rental market. The first market was the replacement market that targeted towards local
customers in the Enterprise neighbourhood locations who needed rental cars as replacements while

outsource their entire transportation to a rental company. In this situation, businesses seek
excellent service that integrates with their own operation successfully as well. By providing this
service without disrupting their business dealings, companies are able to lower their costs by
eliminating the ownership and maintenance costs of their own vehicles. In this way, both the
individual consumer and the business customer have the same basic factors motivating their

Negative Influence Of The 2nd Amendment (NRA)
The NRA has managed to become a powerful gun lobby and influencer of the gun conversation
through their deliberate propaganda that targets and in many ways lies about the 2nd Amendment.
In 1977, through a shakeup within the NRA, the organization went from a group of hunters and
sportsmen to a strong advocate for the right to bear arms. Catering to strong gunadvocates, the NRA
was able to become a very powerful and influential organization. By aggressively advocating for gun
rights, and preying on Republican congressmen with many pro gun constituents, they were able to
build up a foundation of support, which they have now expanded into one of the most powerful
lobbies in Washington. Nowadays, they promote the 2nd Amendment, but only the parts... Show

From 1975 until the DC vs Heller ruling in 2008, the Firearms Control Regulations Act was in
place, which banned residents of DC from owning handguns, automatic firearms, or high
capacity semiautomatic weapons. Since then, very little gun legislation has been passed at all.
In fact, since the horrific Newtown shooting that occurred in 2012, not a single piece of
legislation has been passed on guns. While conservatives might feel sorry for the victims, they
realize that many conservatives, like Joe the Plumber (the Ohio workingman who gained
prominence in the 2008 election), who once said, Your dead kids...don t trump my constitutional
rights , would stop voting for them if they tried to implement gun control policies. Many on the
right claim that gun control is an effort not just to regulate guns, but to completely ban them.
This is an effective scare tactic used to get their constituents angry at the Democrats. But gun
regulation and gun bans are two very different things. Data shows us that there are certain
groups of people who should never be allowed to own a gun. This includes those who have prior
offenses of violence, those who are mentally ill, suspected terrorists, and people who have
children living in their home. However, there are people who can make a reasonable claim to
needing a gun, and they shouldn t be denied that right. For example, people in very rural areas,
without much access to the protection provided by public safety officials should have the right to
own a gun if they demonstrate they are able to use one properly. Also, hunters and people who
have obtained restraining orders against those who have threatened them with violence might make
a case for their right to own a gun. Most gun control advocates don t want to take away guns from
everyone, they

Andrew Marsh And The Ethics Of Belief
The Christian faith goes back thousands of years, and has acquired a strong system of devout
followers from all different walks of life. The big question regarding Christianity is whether or not
there really is a God. Many have set out to disprove Christianity, including one of the major theorists
Charles Darwin with his belief in evolution. Unlike in the evolution theory, faithplays a huge part in
the Christian religionand without it they really rely on nothing. Can there be a valid belief system
without evidence? Christianityfalls short of being logical because of its lack of evidence,
inadequate reasoning, and harm it causes to believers. Without evidence, nothing can accurately
be proven true. In his article, You Know I Learned Something Today: Stan Marsh and the Ethics
of Belief, Henry Jacoby quotes English mathematician and philosopher W.K Clifford when he
says it is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone to believe anything upon insufficient
evidence (Jacoby 58). The Christian religion is strongly based on Faith; the faith that the Bible is
nonfiction, that there is a heaven and a hell, and most importantly that there is in fact a God. Due
to the fact that none of these subjects have any documented evidence supporting their claims, is it
really in society s best interest to believe in them? If humans create beliefs based on the simple
fact that they cannot be disproven; however, they have no solid evidence they can be proven then it

Okonkwo s Manliness In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
In the book Okonkwo s main prerogative was to keep his manliness the only personality he had.
However, his manliness wasn t led by his crave for success, but rather his anger toward his dad.
Even as a little boy he had resented his father s failure and weakness, and even now he still
remembered how he suffered when a playmate had told him that his father was agbala... And so
Okonkwo was ruled by one passion to hate everything that his father Unoka had loved (Achebe,
13). His peer calling his dad an agbala was one of the main roots that fueled his anger. Even
though, the memories are a prominent part, the words also show his emotional state. For example,
resented is used to describe how much he hated his dad. In time, his resentment as a child grew
into pure hatred. To show how much his anger overruled his life, the shield is covered in the color

Okonkwo s dad was someone who was incapable of living about tomorrow (Achebe, 4). This

Often, his family food supply was scarce. Also, his family became a laughing stock. They would
often be humiliated because he wouldn t make enough money. However, Okonkwo knew that age
was respected among his people, but achievement was revered (Achebe, 8). After, his dad died
without no title and in a big amount of debt, Okonkwo achieved fame. He became a great farmer,
married three wives, and took two titles while he was still young. From what his father was to what
he became was a big difference. On the shield, the green butterfly represents his

Essay on Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken
The Road Not Taken: All the Difference
Each person must make many decisions in their lifetime. Some decisions are easy while others are
more difficult. The poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is a first person narrative tale of a
monumental moment in Frost s life. Frost is faced between the choice of a moment and a lifetime.
Walking down a rural road the narrator encounters a point on his travel that diverges into two
separate similar paths. In Robert Frost s poem The Road Not Taken , Frost presentsthe idea of man
facing the difficult unalterable predilection of a moment and a lifetime. This idea in Frost s poem
is embodied in the fork in the road, the decision between the two paths, and the speaker s decision.

The speaker s sight is limited his eyes can only see the path until it bends into the undergrowth.
The author shows man s attempts to tell which path is better by trying to for see what they will
behold down the road. Both roads diverge into a yellow wood and appear to be about the same in
their purpose. The first of the two paths is the more common route than the other less traveled path,
which wanted wear. Frost presents a classic conflict the decision between the common easy path
and the exceptional challenging path. Choosing the already known easy path in life many people
frequently endure reassures that the outcome will be predictable. While choosing the less traveled
road represents the gamble of facing a more difficult path in life in hopes to achieve an
incomparable and satisfactory life, contrasting the more familiar lives other people take.
The road not taken delineates man s choice. After vacillating between the two fair roads, he
finally decides to take the road less traveled by ; knowing he cannot see where it will lead.
Traveling down the second road, the speaker still yearns to travel both paths he keeps the first for
another day. As the narrator proceeds down the unworn path, he realizes there will be no way he
can ever return to the deviation to experience the other route. The speakers utters:
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

Morality Is The Quality Of Being Morally Right
Morality is the quality of being morally right. Thoreau views morality as acting on one s
conscience. Conscience is a faculty that God gives to every man so he can discern between right
and wrong. Its verdicts are consistent across different circumstances, and across time. Therefore,
morality is absolute. In this section, Thoreau explores ways in which people justify not acting
according to their consciences. However, Thoreau maintains the conviction that nothing can excuse
withholding what is morally right.
Thoreau focuses his point on patrons of virtue. A patron of virtue is a person who understands and
supports the right, but does not act on what he knows. He introduces this group using a verse,
which reads, A drab of state, a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The majority will likely only abolish slavery through law when their culture has already deemed it
null. Thoreau believes only men who live by conscience can actually abolish slavery. These men
show their desires in their votes, but their choices to not need to prevail. These men know that only
their individual actions on conscience can cause the change they know is right.
Thoreau also believes that expediency cannot substitute for morality. He cites the philosopher
William Paley, who claims that the justice of every particular case of resistance is reduced to a
computation of the quantity of the danger and grievance on the one side, and of the probability
and expense of redressing it on the other (79). Paley argues that the morally correct action in any
scenario requires only comparing the costs o the actions on either side. Thoreau understands that
many apply Paley s theory to cases dealing with morality, which is evident when he calls Paley a
common authority with many on moral questions (79). Those who would use Paley s statement as
a way to judge morally correct action would not disown the United States government for its
acceptance of slavery, because it would cause unnecessary grievance on their own part, and
inconvenience to the authorities. However, Thoreau says that Paley s view only applies where the
rule of expediency applies, or where only non moral questions

Arranged Marriage Vs Love Marriage
The debate amongst love marriage and arranged marriage will never stop. That is not the goal.
Everyone goes about marriage a different way. Having the choice between an arranged marriage
and a love marriage is helpful for many people. There are many more advantages to an arranged
marriage than a love marriage. In the past, arranged marriages were the most popular, but modern
times have shifted the view to more lovemarriages despite the disadvantages accompanying it.
Family is so important. An arranged marriageis accepted by the bride and groom as they believe
their elders are able to make the best decision when it comes to who the marry. An arranged
marriage focuses on family union. This establishes trust amongst family members and
automatically the new addition to the family has immense approval, something a love marriage
may not have. For example, say a woman goes out and marries a man. She shows him to the
family and they disapprove of him. They say he is not right for her. This upsets the daughter and
the husband, and creates a family divide. This creates a situation where the woman must choose
between two things she loves. This could all be avoided by arranged marriage. Arranged
marriages presuppose that two people are perfectly matched because they belong to the same
culture, share the same religious upbringing, speak the same language, and raised in more or
less the same socio economic class. These identical backgrounds make it easier for the couple to
communicate with each other and understand where each is coming from. Decisions in the
upbringing of future children and their education leave little room for disparities in their
thinking because of this likeness. The preapproval of the spouse solves a plethora of
unnecessary issues. Divorce is so common in America. It has gotten to a point that staying
together for life and honoring your vows is rare. This causes severe emotional trauma and is
such a hassle. The actual statistics for divorce in a love marriage in America is 45%. This is
saying almost half of love marriages fail. When you look over to the statistics of arranged marriage
in India there is an enormous difference. The percentage of arranged

MG 401 Senior Seminar in Management Introduction In 1989, Stephen Covey s book The 7
Habits of Highly Effective People started a landmark revolution in how we think about time and
life management. In this book, Covey presents seven principles for developing effectiveness in our
private and public lives. By developing these habits, one moves from being dependent on other
people to being and acting independently. Then we learn how to move to the more advanced state
of interdependence and successful Cooperation. As a part of the seven habits, Covey introduced
important and powerful techniques of time management under the habit of Put First Things First. ...

Argument Stephen Covey has much to say on the qualities of effective people. Covey s purpose
in detailing the seven habits is to help people improve themselves. The seven habits are woven
into a diagram that shows the working of all seven habits in communion. When viewing the
diagram, one is reminded of Benjamin Franklin s engraving of the snake which was divided into
thirteen pieces, with the caption Join or Die. Each of the seven habits is integral to viewing the
picture as a whole, as well as seeing the development from dependence to independence to
interdependence. The first three habits, which lead to independence, a private victory, lead to
the final four steps, which include public victory. My favorite quote of the book is It is nobler to
give yourself completely to one individual than to labor diligently for the salvation of the
masses. (Page 201). My job places me in a position of leadership over other leaders. Often I see
these leaders locked into a limited vision when faced with a difficult situation. They see only a
win/lose or lose/lose scenario. I reflect back on this book frequently and think about the book s
section on win/win and seeing outside the box. The first habit talks about being proactive; being
proactive is the foundation of the entire seven habits paradigm. In a sense, all the other habits are
types of being proactive. This entails a realization that you are a person who

in 1839 (History of Photography and the Camera). It is a method of recording images by the action
of light, or related radiation, on a sensitive material. The end of the 19th century was an important
time in camerahistory. Shutters were incorporated into cameras, the size of the devices decreased
and these moments set the stage for a new, ever changing century of innovation in digital
photography(From Shutters to DSLR). Digital cameratechnology was born out of the spy satellite
program designed to reduce the difficulties of collecting photographic data from cameras in orbit
(From Shutters to DSLR). From these early designs, digital cameras increased in resolution and
decreased in size and cost until they gradually became practical for widespread consumer use.
Following many years of steady development, Nikon has been contributed to incredible innovations
as a leading company in digital camera industry.
The first pinhole camera was invented by Alhazen, a great authority on optics in the Middle Ages
who lived around 1000AD, and it was able to explain why the images were upside down (History
of Photography and the Camera). The first practical process of photography was performed in
1829, Niepce used paper coated with silver chloride, succeeded in photographing the images formed

The Story of a First Forbes Billionaire from a least Developed Country: Nepal Background The
news in Forbes that the small Himalayan nation of Nepal (with the population of 30 million),
among the poorest countries in the world, has produced its first billionaire in Binod Chaudhary,
chairman of the Cinnovation/Chaudhary Group made Nepalese jubilant. In a country where
businesses were failing due to political conflict, one man and his team successfully made a
mark in the nation s economic history. This case exemplifies how right strategies can help
businesses succeed even in a nation engulfed by political stagnation, civil war and economic
problems. Winning Aspirations With the vision of Touching Life Everyday Chaudhary Group is
now a business conglomerate including forty businesses, and its operations cover across all five
continents. However, the story begins with a humble background. Mr. Chaudhary s family
started a business in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, in the year 1934 by leasing a shop at
$3 per month. Starting as an importer of textiles from India, they opened up a flour mill in the
year 1974. The business boomed after the introduction of Wai Wai (ไวไว) in Nepal. The
name of Binod Chaudhary is synonymous to Wai Wai for many Nepalese consumers. During one
visit to Thailand, Mr. Chaudhary observed that loads of Wai Wai noodles were exported to Nepal
from Thailand. Noticing the popularity he started producing Wai Wai in Nepal. The partnership with

What Does It Stand For Dna Research Paper
What does DNA stand for?
Deoxyribonucleic acid
What is DNA?
DNA also known as deoxyribonucleic acid is a complex molecule that carries the genetic
information in the cell, essential to build and maintain an organism.
The shape of the molecule is described as a double helix . The building blocks of DNA are
nucleotides. A nucleotide consists of one phosphate molecule, a five sided sugar molecule
(deoxyribose sugar), and one nitrogen base.
WHERE IS IT FOUND?
DNA is located throughout the body, inside organisms called eukaryotes. Which is found inside a
special area of the cell called the nucleus. Organisms have DNA molecules, tightly wound and
packaged as a chromosome. DNA is not only located in the nucleus, humans also have a small
amount of DNA in cell structure in mitochondria. For each DNA molecule that forms into a
chromosome can be seen as a set of shorter DNA sequences. These are the units of DNA function
called genes.

Strands of the DNA are composed of a sugar and phosphate, portions of the nucleotides while the
middle parts of the DNA are made up of nitrogenous bases. The hydrogen bonds between
phosphates cause the DNA strand to twist. The nitrogenous bases point inward on the ladder and
form pairs with bases on the other side, like rungs. The nitrogenous bases on the two strands of
DNA pair up, purine with pyrimidine (adenine with thymine and guanine with cytosine) and are
held together by hydrogen bonds. DNA has a spiral staircase like structure. The steps are formed by
the nitrogen bases of the nucleotides where adenine pairs with thymine and cytosine with

Phase One Exam. In Modern Day, Work Is Becoming Increasingly
Phase One Exam In modern day, work is becoming increasingly more complicated, as well as
difficult to manage. For example, on a construction site, a client is requesting a surreal project than
what a common worker is not used to, and has to find a way to satisfy the demand before the
determined deadline. In this case a project manager has to deal with prioritizing predecessor task
and successor task starting with a development plan that will lead to various other tasks along the
way until the project is completed. A project manager normally uses one of three different system
development methods which are structured analysis, object oriented analysis, and agile methods.
Also with those development methods project managers must perform an... Show more content on

project manager will use project scheduling to put the tasks in order to create a timetable to follow
by, which are usually charts showing the task, what it needs, and critical tasks that can t be avoided.
(Systems analysis and design, tenth edition. Page 91 92.). Once the work has begun the next step
is project monitoring which includes supervising, guiding, and to not push too much work onto the
project team. (Systems analysis and design, tenth edition. Page 91 92.). Then the final step in the
process is project reporting. (Systems analysis and design, tenth edition. Page 91 92.). The project
manager creates reports on the progress made and sends it to the users, management, and the project
team. (Systems analysis and design, tenth edition. Page 91 92.). System development methods are
intended for developing and advancing information systems and projects in that field. (Systems

specific ways of going about each method. (Systems analysis and design, tenth edition. Page 21.).
Structured analysis is the traditional method where the planning, tasks, and whatever necessities are

Essay on Reasons for Popularity of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Reasons for Popularity of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Vampire stories have been told for hundreds of years, and like all things, they have evolved with
time. As technology has moved forward so did the stories, and vampire films soon became popular.
These stories have recently moved onto the small screen, the most popular of which, a modern
adaptation of the tradition vampire myth called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This popular programme
has a massive following here in the UK and also overseas and is now in its 7th series of
programmes and has been seen on TV screens around the world for over four years.

The woman turns into a green hideous monster and kills that boy. This is very rare for a vampire
tale as traditionally vampires did not look like monsters and also they only attacked defenseless
females.
The episode starts properly when Buffy Summers, a 16 year old girl moves to Sunnydale, from LA
with her mother. This is not the setting that we would expect for a vampire story as the word
Sunnydale hardly paints a picture of a dark, scary place full of vampires. Therefore, this name
subverts the traditional signifier s. On the first day of school, Cordelia, the popular girl inducts
Buffy into the cool crowd despite this Buffy attempts to be friends with three other students,
Xander, Willow and Jesse. This gesture shows us that Buffy is a good judge of character, strong
minded and that she is a leader not a follower.
Buffy goes to the school library to get some text books. The library, although a more unusual
setting was much more like something from a vampire story, it was dark and empty. To add
tension the producers used scary disjointed music to try and set the scene and the camera moves in
onto a newspaper article, to which you can read the headline which refers to a missing teenage boy.

Renal Cell Carcinoma Of The Kidney Essay
The most common genitourinary cancers are, renal cell carcinoma of the kidney, transitional cell
carcinoma of the bladder, and adenocarcinoma of the prostat.
1 Renal cell carcinoma, the most common cancer of the kidney, accounts for approximately 90%
of all renal malignancies. About 65,000 cases of renal cell carcinoma are diagnosed each year in
the U.S. Despite advances in diagnosis, especially improved imaging techniques and the incidental
diagnosis of many tumors with imaging tests for unrelated complaints, about 20 30% of all patients
are diagnosed with metastatic disease. In addition, another 20% of patients undergoing
nephrectomy will have a relapse and develop metastatic RCC during follow up.
For patients with (m RCC), the prognosis is extremely poor, which makes the occurrence of (m
RCC) a serious problem for oncologic health care around the world.
The American Cancer Society s most recent estimates for kidney cancer in the United
States are for 2016:
About 62,700 new cases (39,650 in men and 23,050 in women) will occur.
About 14,240 people (9,240 men and 5,000 women) will die from this disease.
These numbers include all types of kidney and renal pelvis cancers.
Kidney cancer is among the 10 most common cancers in both men and women. Overall, the
lifetime risk for developing kidney cancer is about 1 in 63 (1.6%). This risk is higher in men than
in women.
For reasons that are not totally clear, the rate of new kidney cancers has been rising since

Frequency Response Characteristics of a System
In a research article [9], the frequency response characteristics of the system can be altered when
the harmonic distortion levels are not within the acceptable limits through changing sizes or
locations of the capacitor, by changing source characteristics, or by design a harmonic filter. Filters
are the most common solution as it can provide reactive power support at the fundamental
frequency and a low impedance path for one or more harmonic current components to flow. The
filter elements must be specifically designed to withstand the harmonic components along with the
fundamental frequency voltages and currents. Common method for filter design is by utilizing one
single tuned shunt filter first, designed for the lowest generated harmonic (typically 5th) and it is
advisable to use capacitors with a higher voltage rating than the system. Determine the voltage
distortion level at the bus. The commonly applied limit of 5% (total harmonic distortion THD)
was presented in IEEE Standard 519 1981. If required, determine if the harmonic current levels
meet IEEE Standard 519 1992. If not, there may be a need for multiple filters (i.e., 5th and 7th).
Vary the filter elements according to the specified tolerances and check its effectiveness. Lastly, by
checking the frequency response characteristic to verify that the newly created parallel resonance is
not close to a generated harmonic frequency (i.e., the 7th harmonic filter may create a new 5th
harmonic resonance). The article

Examples Of Greed In Huckleberry Finn
Michelle Callahan November 5, 2014 ENGL 2328 6001 8W2 Violence and greed are two
themes that run rampant through all of Huckleberry Finn, driving the story along. Just when
you begin to think things have calmed down, something else happens to bring the themes back
into the picture and shatter the false sense of peace achieved by the slow float down the river.
The characters are impelled to continue living dangerously, despite the many other options
available to them, to try and improve their station in life. The violence and greed both come in
early on, and it s no surprise that the two are wrapped up together in a profound way. Huck s
dad, Pap, comes back into the picture, and the readers quickly find out that Huck has been
abused many times in the past. Huck recalls how his father hasn t been seen in a year and Huck
was just fine with that as Pap used to always whale [Huck] when he was sober and could get his
hands on [Huck] and Huck would have to hide out in the woods to get away from his father
(Twain 113). This skill ends up serving Huck well later, when he has to hide from many other
men who are representations of his father. Pap comes out of hiding, only because he heard that
his son had come into a large sum of money and he wants it for his own. He tells Huck that he
hain t heard nothing but about [Huck] bein rich. [Pap] heard about it away down the river too. That

Living in Anticipation of God s Future
Living in Anticipation of God s Future Theologians offer different views about the future of
humanity. In particular, Jurgen Moltmann offers an eschatology that relates hope and faith with
God s future. In Theology of Hope: On the Ground and the Implications of a Christian Eschatology
(1967) and Hope and History, Moltmann explains how we should live in hope as we anticipate Gods
future. He considers that despite the sufferings we bear in the present world, our hope and faith
will be our guide in living life according to the will of God.
In Theology of Hope , Moltmann emphasizes the relationship between hope and faith. He implies
that the foundation of hope is faith in the resurrection. Because we believe in the ... Show more

Peter says, Live in harmony with one another ... be sympathetic, compassionate, and humble.
(Peter 3:8) We must love one another and be kind to each other. It is easy to be kind to people
who are nice to you, but especially be kind to the people who are not so nice to you. Also, James
says, Do not criticize each other, brothers. Whoever makes it his habit to criticize his brother or
to judge his brother is judging the law and condemning the law. But if you condemn the law, you
are not a doer of the law but its judge. (James 4:11) He is saying that we should not pass
judgment on others for who are we to do so. God is the judge, and no man has the power to do so.
The idea of discouragement and judgment is one that does not fit into this particular living. Instead
of slandering one another we should be compassionate and humble.
In accordance with both lifestyles, we must be able to forgive. Looking at the scene of Jesus death,
we are taught the ultimate way of living in anticipation. Forgiveness is a main factor in this process
and Jesus does this to the full extent. He sets the standard when while nailed to the cross he says,
Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. At the moment of his most extreme suffering,
Jesus prays for the forgiveness of his murderers. In a sense, there should be nothing that we cannot
forgive.

Interpreting Nature
Edgar Allen Poe s creation of the detective Le Chevalier C. Auguste Dupin paved the way for
detective stories. ..........................................
One of the main characteristics of successful analysis, as said by Holmes, is the ability to reason
backwards ( A Study in Scarlet ). These views reflect the thoughts of the 17th century philosopher
of science, Sir Francis Bacon. Sherlock also uses the phrase ones ideas must be as broad as nature
if they are to interpret nature. This idea of interpreting nature is also similar to Bacon s views as
Bacon writes about interpreting nature in one of his philosophical works called The Novum
Organum Scientiarium (which translates as The New Instrument of Science).

that if 12 points of two fingerprints matched that they were the same, i.e. a positive identification. In
A Study In Scarlet, Holmes talks about the identification of ashes and afterward Locard wrote a

living within the city, great experiences can be found in the way of shopping, dining and extra
curricular activities. However, the city itself also offers a laid back, country feel to its residents,
which makes life peaceful and exciting at the same time. Naturally, ski resorts are one of the major
high points of Colorado, and Denver is just a few moments from many of them. Along with winter
sports, outdoor activities are also plentiful during the summer. For example, many residents spend

Financial Statement Presentation And Disclosure Of Revenue...
US GAAP After an entity determines the appropriate accounting for revenue generating activities, it
must determine the appropriate financial statement presentation and disclosure of the results.
Sometimes financial statement preparers do not give the same level of attention to presentation and
disclosure issues as they do to accounting for revenue generating activities. However, investors,
auditors, and regulatory bodies focus on financial statement presentation and disclosures to obtain
information about the types of revenue generating activities and the accounting for each activity.
While more guidance exists for financial statement presentation and disclosure issues facing public
entities than for private entities, many private entities have adopted the public company
requirements as a best practice. Presentation: The financial statement presentation of revenue
generating activities is not always straightforward. Some of the questions raised in evaluating how
best to present the results of revenue generating activities are as follows: Should the revenue be
reported gross or net? Is the entity principal or agent in the transaction? How should a vendor
record consideration given to the customer as an incentive in a revenue generating activity? (This
question has been addressed for product transactions in chapter 4.) Should the transaction be
classified as a gain or as revenue? Are any revenue amounts required to be presented separately?

operational entities to help boost health outcomes and patient engagement, while also decreasing
expenses (Mellin Funk, 2014). This capstone project will depict what Population Health
Management (PHM) is and how it is incorporated within the military and civilian healthcare
industry. It will focus on what PHM can bring to healthcare organizations as well as discussing the
challenges they could face. PHM can be powerful instrument for improving the healthof the
community when utilized correctly. New technologies, laws and regulations will be broken down

Patient Registries. These registries are used to collect and document administrative data, clinical
data and preventive health care information. PHM relies on electronic health information. Patient
Registries are computerized systems that will maintain data for individual patients especially if
they have a specific disease (Howard, 2015).
Personal Health Records: To help improve PHM programs patients and physicians need to be
actively involved. In order to help engage patients a personal health record should be established.
This will allow patients to view their own clinical results and be able to communicate with their
health care team.
Conclusion
The rapidly increase of health care costs and the limited amount of access to healthcare readily
available has made the United States alter the way their healthcare is delivered to the population.
Population Health Management (PHM) programs are being promoted as a tactical initiative for the
future state of all healthcare organizations (Cassidy, 2013). Population Health Management is the
topic of many studies as an iterative strategy for success as the healthcare industry changes in
regards to the government s regulations. It is also a valuable tool used to deduct costs. Health care
administrators need to focus on developing and implementing a Population Heath Management
program. Population health management gives organizations the opportunities to utilize technology

The World And Empires By Anthony Pagden
Peoples and Empires Throughout history there have been a multitude of different empires to rise
up and conquer land, along with the people inhabiting that land. More often than not, these empires
fell. Whether the empire was quickly abolished, or it maintained power for decades, most of them
were over thrown. Anthony Pagden, who at the time of publication was a history professor at John
Hopkins, wrote the book Peoples and Empires in 2003 to explain the history of the once Great
European Empires . These empires included, but are not limited to, the French, the Spanish, the
British, and the Roman Empire. One major idea of the content focuses on how these particular
empires justified their conquering, not only to themselves, but also to their followers and the
people who rebelled against them. Conquerors would travel to the ends of the earth in order to
obtain more land which in turn is more power. However, in order to do this they had to justify
their actions to the individuals occupying that land. In doing so, they fabricated what they
assumed were acceptable reasons as to why an empire was more luxurious, or in other words
better , than the systems they had in place before. The most common ideology between all of the
empires was the simple idea of being civilized versus being barbaric or savage . Pagden
thoroughly explains how the empires used this ideology and coupled it with small force to justify
their actions and the overall concept of an empire: They

obtaining their food characterized by the landscape and the lifestyle of the people. Additionally,
industrialized countries consume more than developing countries due to higher levels of affluence
(Hamilton, et al., 2015).

  • 2. Bring Back Flogging By Jeff Jacoby An Analysis for Bring Back Flogging In the essay written by Jeff Jacoby in Bring back Flogging The article is about how our prisons are over populated with people that are in there because of the none violence crime, which make the inmates to have higher chance of getting rape, beaten, or murder rather than getting whipped and embarrassment in public, that could help them to make better choice in the future and also teaches the public to behave the way that is acceptable in the society. Plus the cost that is associated with these inmates to keep them in prison that cost the tax payers millions of dollars every year. Jeff Jacoby uses a lot of his own opinion, in some instances he used what John Dilulio, who is a Princeton criminologist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What Gatchel says makes a lot of sense, that states being under budget for the prisons due to the over population and since the income of a prison comes from tax payers, there is only so much that jails can take to take care of the inmates. What he is suggesting is why not going back to the old school ways of dealing with nonviolent crime, which costs a lot less than $30,000 a year to just whippet someone. I come from a country that they still handle small criminals the old ways, and big time criminals are the only people that end up in jail, therefore when it comes to budgeting at the beginning of the year, the country has more money to invest towards the people, rather than the criminals that are part of the noncontributing part of the society. The opposing issue that I can think of would be that some people might say that it is a cruel way to treat someone when you degrade them in public, but what they don t realize is that when people ... Descriptive research 3. Casual research First the company has to lead an exploratory research. Explore what the exact problem is: this includes the gathering of preliminary information that will help define the problem and suggest hypotheses. After gathering the information from exploratory, the company needs to define another objective, which is descriptive in this case that is to ascertain certain magnitudes demographic information. Some research is casual that is to test a cause and effect relationship. Developing the research plan for collecting information The second step of the marketing research process calls for determining the information needed, developing a plan for gathering if efficiently and presenting the plan to marketing management. The plan outlines sources of existing data and explains the specific research approaches, contact methods, sampling plans and instruments that researchers will use to gather new data (Phillip Kotler: Principles of marketing) Secondary and primary research Secondary data exist of information that already exists somewhere, having been collected for another purpose. • 5. Foundations and Limits of Freedom of the Press In Foundations and Limits of Freedom of the Press, Judith Lichtenberg explores the ongoing controversial argument surrounding the regulation of the press and mass media. She evaluates the ability of the press to shape our opinions and values through an examination of the interdependent relationship between freedom of speechand press. Furthermore, she notes that, while the two rights appear similar as they are both considered as forms of self expression, it is important to differ between the two. While Lichtenberg states that freedom of speech and freedom of press are inseparable and equally fundamental she also claims that there are distinct difference between the two basic rights (Lichtenberg 329). She defines the freedom of speech as the equal foundational right to symbolic expression of multiplicity of voices (Lichtenberg 337). The main difference between freedom of speech and press lies in that freedom of press is in the public domain and once self expression is launched into a public sphere, it threatens to restrict another s autonomy. Here Lichtenberg uses the analogy of a restaurant to illustrate her claim. Although the restaurant may be privately owned, its success depends on the public; therefore it ceases to remain an entirely private institution (Lichtenberg 343). While freedom of speech concerns only the individual and is nearly unconditional, freedom of press regards organizations that lies in the public domain therefore we it should be exercised ... This phenomenon is called the competitive advantage of the nation, this can only be created and sustained by immense sense of product knowledge, competition domestically and internationally. Wineindustry is the one which faces the competition between the traditional wine makers of the old world and the sophisticated wine producers of the New world. The healthy competition among the producers and suppliers makes the consumers successful by providing the best quality. The Old world refereed here constitutes the countries in Europe specifically France, Italy and Spain and the New world refers to US, Chile, Argentina and Australia. France s dominance of the wine industry has increasingly come under threat from emerging wine producers who are more aggressive in marketing their product in the markets previously dominated by France. Although France is still the world s largest wine producer, it has seen a substantial decline in its global sales over the last one decade arising from a number of factors; some of them internal and others which are external. In this case study we will be discussing about the Diamond of National advantage and how the determinants creates the national environment in which the companies compete with respect to the Wine industry. Instead, the signature line reflects something such as signature on file. Unauthorized checks produced by third party payment services are usually not detected until the customer reviews the monthly bankstatement. By the time the customer identifies the unauthorized check, it is often too late to recover the funds since the 24 hour window (actually until midnight of the next banking day) for the timely return of checks has long since passed. These checks usually sail right through the check clearing system, since they include good account information and sometimes even include good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is done to girls of any age, from a few days old to right before their wedding. The most common age is three. In most countries where FGM is practiced the clitoris is considered dangerous to the man. At one point they thought that if a penis touched a clitoris, it would shrivel up and fall off. Girls in Africa and parts of Asia are genitally mutilated for family honor, cleanliness, protection against spells, insurance of virginity and faithfulness to the husband, or to terrorize women out of sex. The third type, Infibulation, is the most severe and harmful type. In infibulation, the entire clitoris and both labia are removed. Then the remaining tissue of the vulva are pinned together by catgut or silk sutures. A tiny slit, for urination and menstruation, is left open by inserting a sliver of wood, a matchstick, or reed into the vagina. After the surgery, the girl is bound from hip to ankle and kept immobile for 40 days. This allows scar tissue to form. All three types result in many harmful effects. Most of the effects of FGM are caused by the surgery taking place in an unsanitary environment. Kitchen knives, scissors, razor blades, or pieces of glass are the most common instruments used for the cutting. Unless performed in a hospital, the cutting tool is generally rusty and very dirty. Instead of sterilizing the instrument between surgeries, it is placed on dirt, ashes, or cow dung. This results in many infections. Using the same tool on several girls also promotes the spread of HIV. Due to loss of blood and pain many girls suffer from shock. Many women suffer from pelvic complications. Also urinary retention and urinary tract infections are common among circumcised women. Due to loss of blood many of the girls suffer from week bones, often resulting in fractures and breaks. Fact: Only 0.0003% of the Earth s water is accessible for consumption. With such a minute quantity of freshwater available, the high amount of pollution contaminating this water is appalling. The ideal solution is to eliminate the source of contamination, which may not always be practical. Hence, we need to look for ways to intercept and divert the contaminants from reaching fresh water sources. One option that is practical and easy to implement are constructed wetlands. Constructed wetlands (CW) are like natural wetlands, but manmade. Wetlands, rightfully named, love the water and thrive in water saturated environments. Because of this trait natural wetlands have long helped with slowing runoff and other water management techniques including: consuming nutrients, denitrification (converting nitrates into nitrogen gas to release back into the atmosphere), and breaking down pesticides. Can we adopt the same techniques to solve manmade nitrate contamination issues? The answer lies in CW. These habitats are perfect for dealing with excess nutrients from agricultural or septic wastewater runoff like nitrates. By slowing runoff, sediments and nutrients suspended on the waterfall out of place, thereby, never reaching the rivers or lakes. The bountiful biological life of wetlands consume or utilize excess nutrients. For the remaining nitrates, denitrification, the removal of nitrates by converting them into nitrogen gas, occurs as well. Finally, wetlands break down pesticides and fertilizers that enter the wastewater stream before they reach other freshwater habitats. Other processes for managing high concentrations of ... • 11. Analysis Of High School Based Television Shows Violence... In high school based television shows there are constant themes of insecurity and the division of popular kids and the outcasts. Unfortunately, that is how the world works, people are labeled and associated with certain groups. These labels force people into thinking that they have to look a certain way or follow popular trends. Just like Susannah Calahan in Brain on Fire, she suffers from an illness and during her recovery she criticizes herself based off of what society expects her to look like. Social norms are deeply entrenched in everyone s life to the point where Susannah tries to hide her sickness and put on a strong face just to avoid being labeled as abnormal. There is a sense of her fear of being ridiculed and alienated from her loved ones since she does not fulfill the common image society has on women. Susannah is embarrassed by her actions, her appearance and she refuses to accept that her new self is even a part of her identity. Susannah does not view her post illness appearance as acceptable despite having no control over the outcome. Identity is in fact a matter of social constructionsince Susannah s self esteem and perception of herself deteriorates as she finds herself deviating from what is considered normal. One important aspect of Susannah s illness is that it causes her to dramatically shift from a sociable person to someone who cannot hold a conversation. Throughout the duration of her sickness and her road to recovery, often times she cannot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Following the successfully philosophy of, Take care of your customers and employees first, and profits will follow , Enterprise grew steadily to become the nation s largest rent a car company. What separated Enterprise from its other competitors such as Hertz, Avis, and Alamo was the fact that the company focused on two segments of the home city market rather than appealing to the airport rental market. Negative Influence Of The 2nd Amendment (NRA) The NRA has managed to become a powerful gun lobby and influencer of the gun conversation through their deliberate propaganda that targets and in many ways lies about the 2nd Amendment. In 1977, through a shakeup within the NRA, the organization went from a group of hunters and sportsmen to a strong advocate for the right to bear arms. Catering to strong gunadvocates, the NRA was able to become a very powerful and influential organization. While conservatives might feel sorry for the victims, they realize that many conservatives, like Joe the Plumber (the Ohio workingman who gained prominence in the 2008 election), who once said, Your dead kids...don t trump my constitutional rights , would stop voting for them if they tried to implement gun control policies. Many on the right claim that gun control is an effort not just to regulate guns, but to completely ban them. This is an effective scare tactic used to get their constituents angry at the Democrats. But gun regulation and gun bans are two very different things. Data shows us that there are certain groups of people who should never be allowed to own a gun. This includes those who have prior offenses of violence, those who are mentally ill, suspected terrorists, and people who have children living in their home. However, there are people who can make a reasonable claim to needing a gun, and they shouldn t be denied that right. For example, people in very rural areas, without much access to the protection provided by public safety officials should have the right to own a gun if they demonstrate they are able to use one properly. The big question regarding Christianity is whether or not there really is a God. Many have set out to disprove Christianity, including one of the major theorists Charles Darwin with his belief in evolution. Unlike in the evolution theory, faithplays a huge part in the Christian religionand without it they really rely on nothing. Can there be a valid belief system without evidence? Christianityfalls short of being logical because of its lack of evidence, inadequate reasoning, and harm it causes to believers. Without evidence, nothing can accurately be proven true. In his article, You Know I Learned Something Today: Stan Marsh and the Ethics of Belief, Henry Jacoby quotes English mathematician and philosopher W.K Clifford when he says it is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone to believe anything upon insufficient evidence (Jacoby 58). The Christian religion is strongly based on Faith; the faith that the Bible is nonfiction, that there is a heaven and a hell, and most importantly that there is in fact a God. Due to the fact that none of these subjects have any documented evidence supporting their claims, is it really in society s best interest to believe in them? Conscience is a faculty that God gives to every man so he can discern between right and wrong. Its verdicts are consistent across different circumstances, and across time. Therefore, morality is absolute. In this section, Thoreau explores ways in which people justify not acting according to their consciences. However, Thoreau maintains the conviction that nothing can excuse withholding what is morally right. Thoreau focuses his point on patrons of virtue. He cites the philosopher William Paley, who claims that the justice of every particular case of resistance is reduced to a computation of the quantity of the danger and grievance on the one side, and of the probability and expense of redressing it on the other (79). Paley argues that the morally correct action in any scenario requires only comparing the costs o the actions on either side. Thoreau understands that many apply Paley s theory to cases dealing with morality, which is evident when he calls Paley a common authority with many on moral questions (79). Those who would use Paley s statement as a way to judge morally correct action would not disown the United States government for its acceptance of slavery, because it would cause unnecessary grievance on their own part, and inconvenience to the authorities. • 20. Arranged Marriage Vs Love Marriage The debate amongst love marriage and arranged marriage will never stop. That is not the goal. Everyone goes about marriage a different way. Having the choice between an arranged marriage and a love marriage is helpful for many people. There are many more advantages to an arranged marriage than a love marriage. In the past, arranged marriages were the most popular, but modern times have shifted the view to more lovemarriages despite the disadvantages accompanying it. Family is so important. An arranged marriageis accepted by the bride and groom as they believe their elders are able to make the best decision when it comes to who the marry. An arranged marriage focuses on family union. This establishes trust amongst family members and automatically the new addition to the family has immense approval, something a love marriage may not have. For example, say a woman goes out and marries a man. She shows him to the family and they disapprove of him. They say he is not right for her. This upsets the daughter and the husband, and creates a family divide. This creates a situation where the woman must choose between two things she loves. This could all be avoided by arranged marriage. Arranged marriages presuppose that two people are perfectly matched because they belong to the same culture, share the same religious upbringing, speak the same language, and raised in more or less the same socio economic class. These identical backgrounds make it easier for the couple to communicate with each other and understand where each is coming from. Decisions in the upbringing of future children and their education leave little room for disparities in their thinking because of this likeness. The preapproval of the spouse solves a plethora of unnecessary issues. Divorce is so common in America. It has gotten to a point that staying together for life and honoring your vows is rare. This causes severe emotional trauma and is such a hassle. The actual statistics for divorce in a love marriage in America is 45%. This is saying almost half of love marriages fail. It is a method of recording images by the action of light, or related radiation, on a sensitive material. The end of the 19th century was an important time in camerahistory. Shutters were incorporated into cameras, the size of the devices decreased and these moments set the stage for a new, ever changing century of innovation in digital photography(From Shutters to DSLR). Digital cameratechnology was born out of the spy satellite program designed to reduce the difficulties of collecting photographic data from cameras in orbit (From Shutters to DSLR). From these early designs, digital cameras increased in resolution and decreased in size and cost until they gradually became practical for widespread consumer use. Following many years of steady development, Nikon has been contributed to incredible innovations as a leading company in digital camera industry. A nucleotide consists of one phosphate molecule, a five sided sugar molecule (deoxyribose sugar), and one nitrogen base. WHERE IS IT FOUND? DNA is located throughout the body, inside organisms called eukaryotes. Which is found inside a special area of the cell called the nucleus. Organisms have DNA molecules, tightly wound and packaged as a chromosome. DNA is not only located in the nucleus, humans also have a small amount of DNA in cell structure in mitochondria. About 65,000 cases of renal cell carcinoma are diagnosed each year in the U.S. Despite advances in diagnosis, especially improved imaging techniques and the incidental diagnosis of many tumors with imaging tests for unrelated complaints, about 20 30% of all patients are diagnosed with metastatic disease. In addition, another 20% of patients undergoing nephrectomy will have a relapse and develop metastatic RCC during follow up. For patients with (m RCC), the prognosis is extremely poor, which makes the occurrence of (m RCC) a serious problem for oncologic health care around the world. The American Cancer Society s most recent estimates for kidney cancer in the United States are for 2016: About 62,700 new cases (39,650 in men and 23,050 in women) will occur. About 14,240 people (9,240 men and 5,000 women) will die from this disease. These numbers include all types of kidney and renal pelvis cancers. Kidney cancer is among the 10 most common cancers in both men and women. Overall, the lifetime risk for developing kidney cancer is about 1 in 63 (1.6%). This risk is higher in men than in women. For reasons that are not totally clear, the rate of new kidney cancers has been rising since the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Frequency Response Characteristics of a System In a research article [9], the frequency response characteristics of the system can be altered when the harmonic distortion levels are not within the acceptable limits through changing sizes or locations of the capacitor, by changing source characteristics, or by design a harmonic filter. Filters are the most common solution as it can provide reactive power support at the fundamental frequency and a low impedance path for one or more harmonic current components to flow. The filter elements must be specifically designed to withstand the harmonic components along with the fundamental frequency voltages and currents. Common method for filter design is by utilizing one single tuned shunt filter first, designed for the lowest generated harmonic (typically 5th) and it is advisable to use capacitors with a higher voltage rating than the system. Determine the voltage distortion level at the bus. The commonly applied limit of 5% (total harmonic distortion THD) was presented in IEEE Standard 519 1981. If required, determine if the harmonic current levels meet IEEE Standard 519 1992. If not, there may be a need for multiple filters (i.e., 5th and 7th). Vary the filter elements according to the specified tolerances and check its effectiveness. Lastly, by checking the frequency response characteristic to verify that the newly created parallel resonance is not close to a generated harmonic frequency (i.e., the 7th harmonic filter may create a new 5th harmonic resonance). • 33. Examples Of Greed In Huckleberry Finn Michelle Callahan November 5, 2014 ENGL 2328 6001 8W2 Violence and greed are two themes that run rampant through all of Huckleberry Finn, driving the story along. Just when you begin to think things have calmed down, something else happens to bring the themes back into the picture and shatter the false sense of peace achieved by the slow float down the river. The characters are impelled to continue living dangerously, despite the many other options available to them, to try and improve their station in life. The violence and greed both come in early on, and it s no surprise that the two are wrapped up together in a profound way. Huck s dad, Pap, comes back into the picture, and the readers quickly find out that Huck has been abused many times in the past. Huck recalls how his father hasn t been seen in a year and Huck was just fine with that as Pap used to always whale [Huck] when he was sober and could get his hands on [Huck] and Huck would have to hide out in the woods to get away from his father (Twain 113). This skill ends up serving Huck well later, when he has to hide from many other men who are representations of his father. Pap comes out of hiding, only because he heard that his son had come into a large sum of money and he wants it for his own. He tells Huck that he hain t heard nothing but about [Huck] bein rich. [Pap] heard about it away down the river too. That s why [he] come, back to town. Pap wants the money so badly, that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Living in Anticipation of God s Future Living in Anticipation of God s Future Theologians offer different views about the future of humanity. In particular, Jurgen Moltmann offers an eschatology that relates hope and faith with God s future. In Theology of Hope: On the Ground and the Implications of a Christian Eschatology (1967) and Hope and History, Moltmann explains how we should live in hope as we anticipate Gods future. He considers that despite the sufferings we bear in the present world, our hope and faith will be our guide in living life according to the will of God. In Theology of Hope , Moltmann emphasizes the relationship between hope and faith. He implies that the foundation of hope is faith in the resurrection. Because we believe in the ... It is easy to be kind to people who are nice to you, but especially be kind to the people who are not so nice to you. Also, James says, Do not criticize each other, brothers. Whoever makes it his habit to criticize his brother or to judge his brother is judging the law and condemning the law. But if you condemn the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge. (James 4:11) He is saying that we should not pass judgment on others for who are we to do so. God is the judge, and no man has the power to do so. The idea of discouragement and judgment is one that does not fit into this particular living. Instead of slandering one another we should be compassionate and humble. In accordance with both lifestyles, we must be able to forgive. Looking at the scene of Jesus death, we are taught the ultimate way of living in anticipation. Forgiveness is a main factor in this process and Jesus does this to the full extent. He sets the standard when while nailed to the cross he says, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. At the moment of his most extreme suffering, Jesus prays for the forgiveness of his murderers. In a sense, there should be nothing that we cannot forgive. The challenge that Moltmann ... One of the main characteristics of successful analysis, as said by Holmes, is the ability to reason backwards ( A Study in Scarlet ). These views reflect the thoughts of the 17th century philosopher of science, Sir Francis Bacon. Sherlock also uses the phrase ones ideas must be as broad as nature if they are to interpret nature. This idea of interpreting nature is also similar to Bacon s views as Bacon writes about interpreting nature in one of his philosophical works called The Novum Organum Scientiarium (which translates as The New Instrument of Science). Locard was very influential in the field of forensic science as he developed the science of poroscopy which is the study of the pores in fingerprints, and also said that if 12 points of two fingerprints matched that they were the same, i.e. a positive identification. In A Study In Scarlet, Holmes talks about the identification of ashes and afterward Locard wrote a paper on the identification of tobacco by a study on ashes. • 36. Persuasive Essay About Living In Denver Living in Denver One of the best things about living in Denver is that it offers a high end experience with all the amenities one would expect from a large city. With over 4 million people living within the city, great experiences can be found in the way of shopping, dining and extra curricular activities. However, the city itself also offers a laid back, country feel to its residents, which makes life peaceful and exciting at the same time. Naturally, ski resorts are one of the major high points of Colorado, and Denver is just a few moments from many of them. Along with winter sports, outdoor activities are also plentiful during the summer. For example, many residents spend time hiking and biking during the winter months. During this time, ... • 37. Financial Statement Presentation And Disclosure Of Revenue... US GAAP After an entity determines the appropriate accounting for revenue generating activities, it must determine the appropriate financial statement presentation and disclosure of the results. Sometimes financial statement preparers do not give the same level of attention to presentation and disclosure issues as they do to accounting for revenue generating activities. However, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies focus on financial statement presentation and disclosures to obtain information about the types of revenue generating activities and the accounting for each activity. While more guidance exists for financial statement presentation and disclosure issues facing public entities than for private entities, many private entities have adopted the public company requirements as a best practice. Presentation: The financial statement presentation of revenue generating activities is not always straightforward. Some of the questions raised in evaluating how best to present the results of revenue generating activities are as follows: Should the revenue be reported gross or net? Is the entity principal or agent in the transaction? How should a vendor record consideration given to the customer as an incentive in a revenue generating activity? (This question has been addressed for product transactions in chapter 4.) Should the transaction be classified as a gain or as revenue? Are any revenue amounts required to be presented separately? PHM relies on electronic health information. Patient Registries are computerized systems that will maintain data for individual patients especially if they have a specific disease (Howard, 2015). Personal Health Records: To help improve PHM programs patients and physicians need to be actively involved. In order to help engage patients a personal health record should be established. This will allow patients to view their own clinical results and be able to communicate with their health care team. Conclusion The rapidly increase of health care costs and the limited amount of access to healthcare readily available has made the United States alter the way their healthcare is delivered to the population. Population Health Management (PHM) programs are being promoted as a tactical initiative for the future state of all healthcare organizations (Cassidy, 2013). Population Health Management is the topic of many studies as an iterative strategy for success as the healthcare industry changes in regards to the government s regulations. It is also a valuable tool used to deduct costs. Health care administrators need to focus on developing and implementing a Population Heath Management program. • 39. The World And Empires By Anthony Pagden Peoples and Empires Throughout history there have been a multitude of different empires to rise up and conquer land, along with the people inhabiting that land. More often than not, these empires fell. Whether the empire was quickly abolished, or it maintained power for decades, most of them were over thrown. Anthony Pagden, who at the time of publication was a history professor at John Hopkins, wrote the book Peoples and Empires in 2003 to explain the history of the once Great European Empires . These empires included, but are not limited to, the French, the Spanish, the British, and the Roman Empire. One major idea of the content focuses on how these particular empires justified their conquering, not only to themselves, but also to their followers and the people who rebelled against them. Conquerors would travel to the ends of the earth in order to obtain more land which in turn is more power. However, in order to do this they had to justify their actions to the individuals occupying that land. In doing so, they fabricated what they assumed were acceptable reasons as to why an empire was more luxurious, or in other words better , than the systems they had in place before. The most common ideology between all of the empires was the simple idea of being civilized versus being barbaric or savage . Pagden thoroughly explains how the empires used this ideology and coupled it with small force to justify their actions and the overall concept of an empire: They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rural and urban areas have different ways of producing and obtaining their food characterized by the landscape and the lifestyle of the people. Additionally, industrialized countries consume more than developing countries due to higher levels of affluence (Hamilton, et al., 2015). Those who ask him how to become like him wonder, what steps and plans should they make in order to become successful. John F. Kennedy said, Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.
