AT T Case
In 1984, Southwestern Bell Corporation was born. Major changes in the competitive landscape that
occurred due to the Telecommunications Act in 1996 caused Southwestern Bell to acquire Pacific
Telesis Group and Ameritech Corp. Later on in 2005, Southwestern Bell acquired AT T Corporation,
creating the new and improved AT T, which would become the leader in global business
communications. In 2006, the company obtained ownership of Cingular Wireless. Shortly after that,
AT T led a major transformation in the communications industry by introducing the mobile internet.
To this day, AT T continues to be very successful. In 2013, the company bought Cricket to provide
more access to mobile internet to customers in the prepaid market. In 2015, they purchased two
Mexican wireless companies, Iusacell and Nextel. Later that year they acquired DIRECTV which
made them the world s largest TV provider. Their pending purchase of Time Warner Inc. ... Show

During the 1900s, there were multiple movements that intended to take power out of the hands of
businesses and put more power into the hands of the government. The government decided to put the
Sherman Antitrust Act into effect, which prohibit monopolies and put a restraint on trade. In 1984, the
government ordered AT T to break apart and end its monopoly.
Political factors can affect the day to day functioning of the service and regulations in this industry.
Any changes in government policies can either directly or indirectly impact AT T s business and

construct a strong financial foundation. The main changes that occurred came from the accounting
practices of the company. During these changes and restructure, there were multiple political factors to

Lazy Brat Research Paper
Life sucks. It doesn t who you are; rich, poor, tall, short, thin, fat, muscular, etc., life will always find a
way to kick you in the teeth, beating you down until you just wanna tap out and then some. But there
there are two types of people in this world that reacts to this, one is to give up and let life go out of
control and let it ruin you, or someone can take the hit and keep moving forward. I just so happened to
be in the first category When I was very young, I was very spoiled by my parents, so naturally I had a
lot of trouble and hardships going from being a spoiled lazy brat to a responsible, hard working
individual. I could start by my laziness, big surprise, I tended to procrastinate and try my best to avoid

Essay On Veterans Rights
The issue that has been addressed throughout this study is veteran s rights. The issue of veteran s
rights is still being pursued and is near and dear to me. Not only am I a veteran, but I come from a
long line of men and women who have proudly worn the uniform in defense of our nation. Between
the mindset of the American public, to the cases presented before Congress, this is an ongoing
dilemma. Caring for our brothers and sisters in arms is the socially responsible thing to do. However,
many roadblocks must be torn down before this can come to fruition.
Problems Faced
What some the symptoms of veteran s rights look like in regards to how they are addressed, are in
multitude. They range in length from health care, education, to basic family needs. Overall, the
American public does not pay attention to veterans, and this is mostly in part because the issues that

Once I have a wealth of research on my side, then I can not only help to inform the populace but either
create or join an existing social movement, like the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP, 2017) and

families while bringing the information to the populace has so far been the most effective. Petitions
have been generated and sent to Senators, and because of the slow, but steady fight, many in Congress
are seeing that there needs to be changes put in place.
The objectives for the desired outcomes is to ensure that every veteran, regardless of which war,
receives the proper care and treatment of their ailments. This is to include housing our homeless
veterans in complexes in which they will feel safe, yet give them the freedom they need to work on
their journey of healing. In the process, the veterans families that are affected must not be forgotten as

Gilded Era Vs Progressive Era
After the Great Awakening, a religious and spiritual revival in the colonies, the unofficial United
States aggressed a revolution against Great Britain, which won them a new government, freedom from
an oppressive monarchy, and most importantly, their much earned independence. Eventually, slavery,
a practice that had been used for decades before, became questioned. Congress was split sectionally on
the issue, and soon the Civil War stuck. The north prevailed, and in 1865, the fight for abolition was
over. Soon, reconstruction and industrialisation began to sweep the U.S. into its pre war thriving
economic condition, and new inventions popped up everywhere. Such inventions were one thing to
improve the way we listen to music in the U.S. It empowered the citizens, changing tremendously in

After the north became victorious, the Gilded Age began in the late 1860 s and lasted until around
1896 where the Progressive era took over. Overall, the Gilded age brought in many new European

(Boundless) The Progressive Era, which lasted from about 1890 to 1920 and made change by adding
in primaries to Presidential elections and fighting for women s suffrage. (Digital History) By far,
music made the biggest leap in this collective era through its formation of Jazz in New Orleans. Jazz
was different than anything that had been done before, combining different styles of folk with all other
genres. (General History) Also, in 1877, Edison invented the phonograph, which was a hand made and
operated device that allowed the user to record sound on tinfoil. Edison began to produce these and
started the Edison Speaking Phonograph company, which influenced many other inventors to invent
and start their own labels, and led to the invention of the record player soon after. (Riggs

Anger In The Absurd Theatre
Anger is a feeling that can be associated with physiology or psychology. Many factors such as race,
class, gender, ethnicity, religion can cause anger. Anger could be perceived as something natural but
also could be perceived as something disastrous. Anger is not like any feeling as because it is the most
severe feeling. Although it is the most dangerous feeling, people always get angry due to many
reasons (Kim10). Goldhor lerner stated that: Anger is a signal .... It may be a message that we are
being hurt, that our rights are being violated; that our needs or wants are not being adequately met or
simply that something is not right (1). According to Seneca, anger is a catastrophe that leads to bad

Criminal Behavior And Social Control
Our society is at the will of two fundamental forces: deviant behavior and social control. Behaviors
that are not deemed as socially acceptable, or that do not fall in line with what society calls normal ,
are deviant. Social control aims to influence people s behaviors and is a means of moderating, as well
as preventing deviance. The two forms of social control are informal and formal social control. The
former consists of self control and relational controls (Owen, Fradella, Burke, Joplin, 2012, p. 103)
while the latter uses governmental resources to deter deviance in its citizens. In my opinion, informal
social control is a better deterrent of criminal behavior since your own will and how you are raised can
be the greatest forces driving a person to live a good life or choose to start one. Informal social control
comes down to two forms of interactions the ones that you form with yourself that develop your
conscience and those that you experience with others. The first, internal, can not necessarily exist
without the second, external, because we learn and gauge what is right or wrong from the
environments and people around us. Our parents encouraging us to go to school, stay away from
drugs, and raising us to be responsible members of society is an example of external social control. In
contrast to informal social control, formal social control employs alternative methods of behavioral
control. According to Owen, Fradella, Burke, Joplin (2012), Donald Black, a

Mithraism In Christian Religion
Mithraism is one of the most notable mystery cults to date, and its complexity has made it an
intriguing area of research for historians and scholars alike. Although, details regarding its initiation
rituals weren t disclosed to those outside of the cult, artifacts such as preserved areas of worship, wall
paintings, and ritualistic objects have helped to piece together the practices of Mithraism. As more
information about Mithraism is discovered, its similarity to modern religions, especially Christianity,
becomes clear. As arguably the most popular mystery cult of its time, Mithraism s origins, rituals, and
beliefs not only provided a base for Christianity, but also influenced Christian practice. Mithraism

The most obvious similarity is that both Jesus and Mithra were born on December 25th. Although,
historians argue that Jesus was most likely born sometime in the summer, the Mithra festivities on
December 25th were likely absorbed into Christianity in order to make it easier for people of various
faiths to convert, which would mean that Jesus birthday was directly pulled from Mithraic practice.
Another parallel between Jesus and Mithra is that both figures worked miracles with water. Jesus is
credited with turning water into wine, while Mithra made water pour from rock. Jesus and Mithra
were both products of virgin births, although they varied in detail. Mithra was born from a rock, while
Jesus was born from Mary, who was impregnated by the Holy Spirit in the body of a dove (Patterson,
14). Jesus and Mithra were both seen as figures of light, and their followers were promised eternal life
through their devotion and connection with their deity. Followers of Mithra also shared feasts and
communal meals that directly correspond to Christian communion, where followers eat bread as the
flesh of Christ, and drink wine as the blood of Christ. Followers of Mithra also believed in redemption
through sacrifice (Patterson, 22), which is a belief that is widely represented in Christianity. Mithraism
and Christianity shared a high code of ethics where morality was based on duality. In Mithraism there,
...is a constant struggle between the spirit of evil and the spirit of good (Patterson, 40). This same
struggle between good and evil, or between light and dark is also seen in Christianity. The battle
between God and the Devil is constantly mentioned in the Bible. People of Christian faith are careful
not to sin so that they will ascend into Heaven after they die, instead of

McCarthy abused his power over the people however. It shows how the senator became the public

The Red Scare campaigns of the Western media were presented on every applicable media source. The
use of print with easily de codable and emotive images helped to redefine national identity as a
virtuous and patriotic America, against a dangerous and destructive socialist east. The media
distributed extreme propagandist slogans such as Better Dead than Red! This type of politicized
propaganda served to cause hysteria over communism and nuclear war (Bernhard). It worked to
subdue any domestic sympathy for the enemy or resistance to the conflict that usually occurs during
war. It was a calculated action to maintain public antagonism towards the enemy and rejection of their
political and economic policies. The media extended the propaganda to every aspect of western life,
from radio, film, television and print to even schools. The film Red Nightmare was taught as part of
the standard curriculum and is evidence of the media providing state sanctioned indoctrination of the
populace. This act of media manipulation to create mass fear and paranoia cannot be undervalued, it
was the conscious effort of the powerful to marginalize unpopular opinion and spread the dominant
agenda. It also assisted in the solidification and polarization of cultural differences and reinforced

Ingenuity In The Odyssey
The hero s character is itself quite unique, multifaceted such as his ingenuity. We can often call
Ulysses by several nicknames, but those who return the more often showcase his ingenuity: the
Inventive , industrious, ingenious . Moreover, it is to him that the Greeks owe their victory, thanks to
the Trojan Horse ruse. Odysseus uses his ingenuity when a threat arises, but also by taste. Prudence
and dissimulation are two features of this inventiveness. Thus, to protect himself, he maintains the
mystery about his identity, as among the Phaeacians, but also on his return to Ithaca, helped by
Athena. Odysseus, in his insightful intelligence, borders on the prudent wisdom of one who knows,

Ulysses is also a skilled orator, whose words are calculated and convincing: he knows how to say
compliments to Calypso that soothe her anger. But the most important role and attitude and the most
moving of Odysseus is the nostalgia for his homeland. Thus, Odysseus suffers from being held far
from Ithaca, and thus because of the anger of Poseidon, who does not forgive him for having blinded
Polyphemus, his son. The suffering of Odysseus actually makes him also a sensitive hero in the
Odyssey, far from conceited warrior of the Iliad. But to accomplish these feats, Odysseus needs
weapons, and they are different from what one would expect. First, these are the weapons of man, and
not those of the warrior that will allow Odysseus to survive from his adventures. He is a hero of
endurance. This virtue is constantly emphasized in the epithets such as the patient . With the amount
and hardness of the hardships he has endured, is the hero in the eyes of mortals, but also for the gods.
This patient, who responds to the Poseidon tenacity, enables him to overcome

Pocket Issue Of Pocket Medical Costs
Introduction
Out of pocket medical costs continue to cause debate in the U.S. Out of pocket costs consist of
insurance premiums, co payments, co insurance, and unsubsidized care costs. Researchers suggest that
out of pocket medical expenses have tripled for the average American family since 2001(Girod, 2016).
Other studies indicate that the growth rate of these costs is double the annual income rate for U.S.
individuals and families. Still, some argue that out of pocket medical costs are appropriate considering
healthcare utilization (Cutler, 2004). This paper addresses the arguments supporting and refuting the
stance that out of pocket medical expenses are too high.
Why out of pocket costs are too high
Insurance purchased through federal marketplace exchanges contain high deductibles and high co
pays, causing high out of pocket costs. The introduction of insurance exchanges, coupled with the
financial penalties of the individual mandate, added approximately 11 million individuals and families
to the healthcare market place (Sun, 2016). The exchanges allow individuals to shop for insurance
plans that contain varying levels of coverage. Although these plans cover preventive services, they do
not protect against out of pocket costs. Research suggests that copay amounts under exchange plans
are 20% higher than those of employer sponsored plans. Furthermore, studies show that deductible
amounts for some exchange plans are five times greater than for employer sponsored plans

Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach are some of the most creative people in the history of the World, and

Rationality Vs. Rational Rationality
Rationality, a vague term that is heavily used in classic economic theory as well as planning theory,
represents a virtue that maximize the utility. There are basically two types of rationality, one is pure
rationality, the other one is pragmatic rationality. The pure rationality, often called objective
rationality, however, is an unreachable, ideal status that requires perfect knowledge.(Brooks 2002) The
pragmatic rationality, which as its name implies, leans more toward daily use. To achieve the
pragmatic rationality, we only need to make good use of the knowledge that we have in our hands,
which, in my understanding, like the way that Sherlock Holmes solving a case. When applying
pragmatic rationality in planning, it comes to a set of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This, to a certain extent, guarantee that the comprehensive plan is about what the citizens really needs.
However, as a matter of fact, we all know that the perfect, pure rationality only exist in the classic
economic theory. In other words, the public is, by no means, being rational in deciding the goals and
visions, and all the following steps such as alternatives that generated by rational thinking, are based
on the irrational goals and visions. Hence, to what extent that the plan is rational? As one of the most
popular types of plans, strategic plan, as its name implies, might be the best representative for rational
planning. It shares similar process with the rational plan process, it includes a SWOT analysis part that
add more sense of rationality to itself. However, as mentioned by Brooks, strategic plans still need a
planner or a planning agency to make the assumptions, which, in the end, lead to the same problems
that the other planning have, that is, using rational means to chase irrational goals and objectives. In
response to such unreliability of rationality, planning theorists have taken various methods to face it.
Some continued to use rationality and some completely abandoned it and went out to find new
solutions. Others proposed multiple means that, in their own minds, solve the unreliability of rational
planning. Different from the theorists, planning practitioners use rationality more as a mean to evade
from politics, in other words, as an

Oil Persuasive Essay
The world s oil reserve is destined to deplete and expected to peak in 2020 as it is decreasing in

oil I came to ethanol as a solution. if 1 barrel of oil produces 5.8 million BTU a barrel of ethanol will
produce 3.5 million BTU. Ethanol could provide roughly 2/3 of the world s energy. But
$770,000,000,000 for 11 days of world operation plus the additional 1/3 of energy needed to fill the

The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries
THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES:
EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY
Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management)
Directed by Yeujun Yoon
ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release that
has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence tourists to
visit a location shown in the movies (Riley Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the number of
tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released overseas based on
the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and relative price, which
are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism industry performs an
important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism from movie induced
tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private sectors working in these
areas.
Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between
1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated using the
method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS).
The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie
release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are
negatively related to tourist arrivals. Hence, the higher the number

We conducted a literature review as a part of our study, of recent research in the area of sinuous
antennas. From the review, it is clear that sinuous antennas are very useful due to their wideband
ability and dual polarized application. Hence, we can find a number of applications where these
antennas are being used. Waldschmidt et al.1 have conducted a study and evaluated the use of the
sinuous antenna for wideband multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and diversity applications. They
found that in addition to being extremely broadband the sinuous antennas are also very compact. In
fact, they found that when placing dipoles on the same space required by the sinuous antennas, that the
sinuous would reach much greater capacities for multimode based MIMO systems. Edwards and
Rebeiz2 utilized the sinuous antenna type placement on a silicon dielectric lens. The lens had a
diameter of 50.8 mm necessitating a compact design. They chose the four arm sinuous antenna
configuration as an alternative to traditional log periodic antennas, which suffer from polarization
variation versus frequency and high cross polarization levels. Their results have shown that the lens
coupled sinuous antennas do exhibit polarization stability and low cross polarization levels over a
wide band. In addition, the antenna is very efficient, radiating only 5% of its total power to its
backside. A much more recent application from Suzuki et al.3, again utilizes the silicon lens coupled
sinuous antenna as a

Discipline Models Of The Assertive Discipline Model
3. Using the discipline models presented in this chapter, which one or combination of models best fits
your personality and your own belief about discipline? Explain why this is so. I believe I would use a
combination of two discipline models, assertive and positive. I would utilize all five steps of the
assertive discipline model, yet modifying it a bit. Additionally,I would use certain aspects of Positive
Discipline Model.
Assertive Model
Step 1: Develop Positive Student Teacher Relationship
Step 2: Set Clear Rules and Expectations
Step 3: Monitor and Rack Inappropriate Behaviors
Step 4: Use Punishment When Rules Are Broken
Step 5: Use Rewards for Appropriate Behaviors
Step 5: Get The Parents on Side
I would also use positive model steps 1, checking frequently, especially at the beginning of the year,
that students know what is expected of them after setting clear rules and expectation. I would modify
the assertive model once again by using positive model step two, exploring between sets three and
four of the assertive model. I believe students learn from making independent decisions, some of
which may lead to mistakes. Mistakes can be a learning experience and are ok. I would also use
positive model step 4, celebrating student s positive actions and decisions between assertive model
steps 4 and 5. Positive reinforcement would be a reward system I would go to first and use most
frequently. Finally, I would adopt positive model step 5, respecting students. I

The Brand Of Clothing On Female Consumers By Buying Behavior
In this dissertation, we focus on discovering the influence of the brand of clothing on female
consumers by buying behavior in Pakistan.
A. Branding Concept
The brand for years has been used as a means to differentiate and specify the goods of one producer of
the goods of another. Ambler (1992) defines the brand as the promise of the packages of attributes that
someone buys and provides satisfaction. The attributes that make up a brand can be real or deceitful,
rational or emotional, tangible or invisible. fashion Fashion can be conceptualized as both an object
and a behavioral process fashion object refers to a specific object, such as a specific clothing item,
That is to say, dress that can have functional utility as a characteristic, but in general the acceptance of
objects occurs due to the quality that the fashion process is characterized by the introduction of a
fashionable innovation to a social system composed of potential adopters, First object is adopted by
fashion leaders, then diffused through a particular social system and is accepted by a large number of
members of that social system and finally the eventual decline in acceptance of the fashion object
occurs Due to change in popularity of the existing fashion object to a newer one.
Name of the brand
It shows the origin of the product / product and helps the conscious customers to differentiate the
brand or product from their competitors. It also creates consumer awareness about the brand. The

Raymond Blanc and Modern French Cuisine
Raymond Blanc, OBE is a French born chef who has made his career in the United Kingdom and has
revolutionised modern French cuisine. Blanc was born on 19 November 1949 in Besançon, a city in
Eastern France, making him now 64 years old. He began cooking when his father gave him a colander
and a vegetable foraging guide for his 10th birthday and whatever he could manage to find in their
garden and surroundings, his mother the inspirational Maman Blanc would teach him to cook. His
mother believed in cooking healthy, local, fresh produce which was full of goodness and love and this
inspired both Raymond and his two sisters to follow with this trend. Blanc is completely self taught
and has never received official**l culinary training in any form.
During Blanc s first job in a restaurant, he criticised the head chef for his lazy cooking and thus had a
pan thrown at him which broke his nose and jaw he also got fired for this. In the year 1972, Blanc
came to England and worked as a waiter at the Oxfordshire restaurant, Rose Revived. On one
fortunate day when the head chef was ill, he entered the kitchen to assist with service and since then it
has been a rollercoaster of culinary expertise, phenomenal classic French cuisine and the beginning of
Les Quat Saisons, Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons and the Le Petit Blanc Brasserie franchise.

Juvenile Justice And The Criminal Justice System
Juveniles have always been a touchy subject in the criminal justice system. Many would argue that
they deserve to be treated and sentenced as adults while others believe that they can be rehabilitated
and changed into fully functioning members of society. Florida has established a Juvenile Detention
Alternatives initiative in order to support the vision that all juvenile justice offenders would have
opportunities put in place to develop them into law abiding adults. This initiative uses core strategies
and decision making skills based on data driven policies and practices that will reduce secure
detention placements and promote healthy lifestyles for the youth while also enhancing public safety.
A program established by the Department of Juvenile Justice in Florida hopes to do just that. Intensive
Delinquency Diversion Services, also referred to as the IDDS, is offered to youth who are first time
offenders. This intense community and home based intervention hopes to deter offenders from
becoming lifelong criminals. This paper will give a brief background the program, a summary and
description of the program, a theory that supports the program, and finally policy implications of the
IDDS program. Background: Florida s initiative to keep youth offenders out of the formal criminal
justice system has given life to many new programs offered to juveniles. This alternative initiative was
launched in 1992. It hopes to move low risk offenders from detention centers and juveniles

Taking a Look at Stress
Stress can be defined as change in one s physical or mental state in response to strain and pressure. A
truly ignored side of stress is, it can be positively adaptive. positive mental stress can prompt
inspiration and test rather than uneasiness. Stress can help people in achieving their goals and taking
them through challenging situation but stress can also become burdensome leading to emotional
distress or physical illness. It could be outer and identified with the environment, however it might
additionally be made by inward recognitions that cause a single person to have tension or other
antagonistic feelings encompassing a circumstance, for example, weight, uneasiness, and so on, which
they then esteem upsetting.
Negative emotional states, for example, emotions of nervousness and melancholy, could impact the
pathogenesis of physical sickness, which thusly, have immediate impacts on biotic process that could
bring about expanded danger of malady at last. Case in point, when people are under ceaseless
anxiety, lasting changes in their physiological, passionate, and behavioural reactions are destined to
occur. Such changes could prompt infection. Endless anxiety results from upsetting occasions that
hold on over a moderately long time of time, for example, administering to a mate with dementia, or
effects from short central occasions that keep on being accomplished as overwhelmingly long after
they are over, for example, encountering abuse from senior employee.

Torture In The Elizabethan Era
Have you ever thought of what it would be like to live in the Elizabethan Era? Let me just say, it may
not be as fun as it seems. In the Elizabethan Era, crimes were punishable with grueling forms of
torture that killed or severely hurt thousands of criminals.
In the late 1500s and early 1600s, torture was a large part of everyday life and although torture was
not the only method, it was the most effective. Citizens of Europe in the Elizabethan Era, you would
most likely come across some very terrifying forms of torture. Prisons did exist, but the main form of
punishment used was torture (Science Museum). There was a prison in the Elizabethan Era, but they
were mostly used for holding people with small debts or holding people until their ... Show more

Certain actions that threatened the social order were considered crimes, and the person that completed
that action needed to be punished (Elizabethan World Reference). If a citizen of Europe practiced a
certain kind of religion that Queen Elizabeth did not approve of, they were burnt to the stake. Being
burnt to death was one of the most painful deaths (Alchin). It took a long time to completely die, so
the criminal were still alive while being burnt (Alchin). If they were lucky, they would suffocate from
the smoke instead of having to live through being burnt (Alchin). Another more serious crime, treason,
was punishable by hanging (Harrison). If someone were to betray their country, they would be hung
(Harrison). This death took a matter of seconds and was not as painful as being burnt. Many subjects
would jump before time so that their necks would break and they died very quickly (Harrison).
Another form of torture was boiling (Parry). It is as bad as it sounds. If a citizen of Europe poisoned
someone, they were to be boiled to death (Parry). This was another way to die that caused lots of pain.
Even stealers were punished were hardly. Many had their right hand cut off so they could not steal
anymore, and there was not medicine so the wound usually became infected and resulted in the death
of the convict (Lestikow). All these forms of

Critical Analysis Of Binsey Poplars By Gerard Manley...
Right now, many forests are being relentlessly decimated in order to meet our needs. In the poem
Binsey Poplars written by Gerard Manley Hopkins in 1879, the speaker considers this issue while
lamenting over the destruction of a line of poplar trees. In this essay, I will argue that the poem shows
mankind s own fragility through the felling of the trees because of the speaker s emphasis on the
contrast between nature and its destruction and the way nature and humans are associated with the use
of imagery and figurative language. I will first examine the poem s sorrowful tone and the way the
text s content opposes nature s beauty and its deforestation caused by humans. Then, I will analyze
how the poem s form support this opposition through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker uses this event to expand his view on the way mankind destroys nature without meaning
to. In the second and third stanzas, we are actually blamed for this irreversible damage, as seen in O if
we but knew what we do / When we delve or hew (9 10) and To mend her we end her (16). By using
the first person plural pronoun, the speaker includes not only themselves, but also the reader, who is
also a human being, and in a general sense, part of mankind. However, humans are not only the agent
of destruction, but the object of it as well. For instance, the repetition of the letter l in All felled, felled,
are all felled (3) may form a visual representation of a line of trees, or a line of people. Moreover,
there is a personification of nature throughout the poem; according to the speaker, nature is a woman,
as said in Since country is so tender / To touch, her being so slender (12 13) and To mend her we end
her (17). Whereas there are some neutral correlations between human beings and the natural world,
they are also linked through the pain and damage that is inflicted to them. Hack rack (11) are
originally aimed at the growing green (11). However, those verbs are associated to prick (15) and
sleek (14) as well due to the consonance of the sound ck . As a consequence of that association, the
sleek and seeing ball (14), the human eye (15), feels the brutality of the tree felling,

Skin Color Detection
Skin color detection is considered one of the most popular techniques of segmentation and tracking
because of its simplicity. The idea behind using this technique is that skin color is different from other
object s color and then can be used to identify human gesture part. There are several color spaces such
as RGB, YIQ, YUV, and generic color model that are used to distinguish skin pixels from non skin
pixels through comparing a predefined skin color model (skin pixels) with pixels of the input image.
Figure 2 shows skin color technique using YIQ and YUV color spaces.
Thermal camera is an infrared camera that is able to detect infrared radiation emitted from the human
body (temperature). It can determine the human gesture region depending on the human temperature
while background is neglected. Figure 3 shows human interaction captured by thermal camera.
This technique is used to track and detect moving gesture parts depending on the difference between
two or three consecutive video frames. The pervious image (frame) is subtracted from the current
image (frame) in order to obtain the moving part.
A. Background subtraction
The idea behind this technique is to set a background as a reference or model and then compare the
current frame with the reference background in a pixel by pixel manner to detect the moving
foreground object. The background model is updated with a new image from time to time in order to
track dynamic changes. Figure 4 shows background subtraction

Budgets Are Essential Business Practice
Abstract: Budgets are essential business practice embedded in organizations since the 1920 s and are
considered key drivers and evaluators of managerial performance and key elements for planning and
control. Budgets are thought to be the most powerful tool for management control; they play essential
roles in the organization s political structure as they are used often to increase the power and authority
of top management and limit the autonomy of lower level managers. Despite its ambiguous benefits,
traditional budgeting presents organizations with various challenges. In recent times critics of
traditional budgeting have increased vastly. The basis of this criticism is that traditional budgeting is a
relic of the past. It prevents reactions to change in the market, it cannot keep up with the challenges
and requirements of today s business world and it isn t useful for neither business management nor
stakeholders. In an attempt to eliminate criticism, researchers and practitioners in the field of
management accountancy have developed more systematic concepts of budgeting which that better
suits the needs of the modern business environment. Developments resulted in beyond budgeting,
better budgeting, zero based budgeting, rolling forecasts and activity based budgeting as main
alternatives to the traditional system. Reka et al. argue that beyond budgeting is the most effective
alternative to traditional budgeting. This paper focuses on evaluating the usefulness of

Compare And Contrast The Whiskey Rebellion And Daniel Shays
Destiny Manston per.4 Dept, Taxes, and Daniel Shays Daniel Shays Rebellion took place during the

culture and society . The confederation had an enormous debt that had built up during the
Revolutionary War. Congress showed its weakness that weighed heavily on debtors and having no
power to tax. The confederation could only make requisition on the states but even then could only
receive one sixth of the money. Robert Morris and his Philadelphia allies had an idea for a centralized
government after the flaws found in the Articles of Confederation. Because the states also had post

to became outraged toward the government who felt that they were being treated unfairly (and in some
cases felt that the government was being tyrannical). The burdened farmers demanded paper money to
fulfill the obligations. The effect of the increased burdens of debt and taxation caused farmers to riot
periodically in various parts of New England in the late 1700s. The Dissidents from Connecticut
Valley and Berkshire Massachusetts rallied behind Daniel Shay who was a former captain of the
Continental army. An example of something similar happening was the Whiskey Rebellion. Both
revolts include an anarchy that called for the modifying of the government. Shay called for a changing

machines so that they can transform our lives and deliver services much faster and much quicker than
we could ever perceive.
Today with 4G there s higher latency in the network, so this is the amount of time it takes to transmit
data from the device to the network, and back again with 5G that communication path that will allow
the customer to communicate much quicker and the customer will be able to control machines. Nokia
states that the latency of the network improves the communication between the machines which is
critical for future networks. Nokia s view on future needs for society for humanity. What we re going
to see is a transformation of Nokia s existing technologies to automate everything so you can imagine
healthcare automotive or in the mining industry or in other areas where that are very critical or
dangerous for humans we can send a machine in and control them remotely over a 5G wireless
network because of the low latency in the network so a huge transformation in the way Nokia utilize
their network and Nokia can control and do with their machines.
As the world moves into the industry 4.0 era and a fully digital economy the demands on networks
will change and grow. The Internet of Things, billions of devices and machines will be connected. 5G

Looking back at the physical evidence there were two gunshot wounds. If you go back to the ballistic
test, the gun that was used took some parts of the structure s head. If he shot himself with the gun that
was similar to the horse pistol, that would ve been enough for him to die. It seems unlikely for him to
be able to shoot himself once with that gun, proceed to reload the gun and shoot himself once more.
He would ve been dead after one shot and would not be able to shoot himself again with that kind of
gun. The evidence from Priscilla Grinder, it was pretty off and suspicious. Every letter was different
along with the situation. Her story consistently changed and inconsistent. Then there was Russel s
letter. The letter Major Russel wrote to Jefferson saying that Lewis was in a deranged state of mind
and that he tried to commit suicide twice, however, this handwritten analysis wasn t written by him.
This was a forged document and it showed that Jefferson was duked. It was possibly forged by Neely
or Wilkinson to incriminate Lewis s Suicide . This evidence shows that Lewis s death is a murder and
not a suicide. (Brad Meltzer s Decoded Season 1 Episode

A tactic is a means by which a strategy is implemented. For each of your company s objectives you
need to come up with possible strategies to achieve them. You then need to write tactics for each of the
functional areas of your firm to implement those strategies. For example, your objective might be to
increase sales revenue by 20% over the next three years. You then might formulate three strategies, a
general price increase of 10% for all of your products, an increase in marketing budgets, a new
product launch. Each functional area will then need a series of tactics to implement each year for the
next three years. For example in year one your marketing tactics might be to implement the 10% price
rise and to increase TV advertising expenditure by 20%.
Developing a Product Strategy
The company President has given you complete freedom to manage your firm s product. However
they have recommended that you choose to initially implement one of three product strategies:
A) HIGH PRICE, LOWER VOLUME
Increase your price by up to 10% (i.e. $550 $605) and increase your Product
Promotion expenditure by $500,000 $1,000,000.
B) MEDIUM PRICE, MEDIUM VOLUME
Change your price by less than 1% (i.e. $545 $555), and increase your Product
Promotion expenditure by $250,000 $500,000.
C) LOW PRICE, HIGHER VOLUME
Decrease your price by up to 5% (i.e. $522 $550) and increase your Product
Promotion expenditure

Speech On The Hitler Youth
Speaking on the Hitler Youth, and just how violently anti Semitic the group was, Jewish survivor
Marcel Back explained, On Sundays we like to go have a nice excursion in the forest, and then you
saw a few of those so you tried to avoid to get close to them because they could beat you up (USC SFI
VHA, Marcel Back). Another survivor, Fred Berdach noted, There were Hitler Youth on the streets
[...] and they became bullies. You were bullied in the streets, you were bullied in the schools, you were
bullied anywhere and everywhere (USC SFI VHA, Fred Berdach). Berdach s account was in reference
to the evolution of the Hitler Youth in 1938, just three years before the beginning of the mass killing.
Many of the then Hitler Youth members would have been eligible to become soldiers in WWII, as well
as the older ex members. Perhaps the Hitler Youth members played the roles of enforcers of the killing
program and pressured others into doing the same. A further demonstration of latent prejudice in
twentieth century societies contributing to genocide is the lack of large scale support for the Jews from
outsiders. According to Shlomo Aronson, the Allied Powers had influence in the Holocaust and could
have taken steps to lessen the plight of the Jews, but instead turned a blind eye (Aronson, pp.266).
Citing three sets of circumstances influencing Allied decisions to not intervene, Aronson noted that the
Allies were not keen on being depicted as Jew sympathizers and were in fact very

Examples Of Rebellion In Animal Farm By George Orwell
Rebellion, especially in a community, is when insurgence takes place. It is usually done to create a
change and heighten a community. In the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, rebellion shows itself
through strong idealism, word of mouth(snout), and other communities belief systems.
Old Major has an groundbreaking idea that he thinks will give the animals freedom and the animals
like the idea. Old Major says, Rebellion! I do not know when that Rebellion will come, it might be in
a week or in a hundred years, but I know, as surely as I see this straw beneath my feet, that sooner or
later justice will be done. Fix your eyes on that, comrades, throughout the short remainder of your
lives! And above all, pass on this message of mine to those who come after you, so that future
generations shall carry on the struggle until it is victorious, (Chapter 1). Old Major means that the
animals should think of rebellion throughout their life. The animals believe Old Major, and they ...

For example, Orwell writes, This was what came of rebelling against the laws of Nature, Frederick
and Pilkington said. (Chapter 4). The humans are under the impression that the animals are doing
something malignant. They think that the animals were doing things that were terrible, foreshadowing
the animals ultimate demise. Again Orwell writes, Rumours of a wonderful farm, where the human
beings had been turned out and the animals managed their own affairs, continued to circulate in vague
and distorted forms, and throughout that year a wave of rebelliousness ran through the countryside.
(Chapter 4). The animals everywhere heard about the rebelliousness of Animal Farm, and how
successful they believed it was. They all decided to rebel to try to be like the wonderful Animal Farm.
In conclusion, the Animalistic community inspired animals and horrified humans on other

John Steinbeck s Cannery Row
Cannery Row: Living Heaven on Earth
Cannery Row (1945), a novel written by John Steinbeck, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, is a book
without much of a plot. Instead, it s a novel where setting, atmosphere and most importantly character,
take precedence. Steinbeck creates a colorful array of characters struggling to understand their own
unique places in the world.
The story is set in the early 20th century, immediately following the Depression and World War II. The
characters live in Monterey, California amid the jumble of the sardine fisheries, the Palace Flophouses
, Lee Chong s grocery, Dora s whorehouse, and Doc s Biological Lab. Throughout the book, Steinbeck
has the uncanny ability to combine his characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Steinbeck frequently interrupts the flow of what could be considered the main story line, by throwing
short segments into the writing thus introducing a new character (usually not directly connected to the
primary story) or referencing some sort of cruel occurrence of real life. For example, in chapter twelve
Steinbeck writes about the death of Josh Billings, an author who had come to Monterey. After Billings
death, the doctor dumps his remains into a gulch, where a little boy and his dog later find them. The
little boy, not knowing any better, takes the author s remains to use them for fishing. Upon hearing
this, the town quickly collects all his insides and puts them in a leaden box, which was placed in Josh
Billings coffin.
The purpose of inserting this anecdote was to show the camaraderie and respect of the people in
Cannery Row. At one point in the story, Steinbeck writes, Josh Billings was a great man, a great
writer. He had honored Monterey by dying there and he had been degraded (64 65). Steinbeck
demonstrates that by creating an atmosphere of noble intentions and good feelings for one another,
everyone is able to live in a world of peace even when there are bad times.
Steinbeck spends the greater part of the book writing about a party that Mac and the boys plan to
throw for Doc. The boys believe that since Doc has always been such a nice guy that

Mental Illness In The Movie, The Soloist
The movie The Soloist was very eye opening and inspirational. An L.A. Times journalist, Steve,
comes across a homeless man named Nathaniel playing the violin. He begins talking to him and
Nathaniel seems to talk very fast and continuously rambling on. Nathaniel tells Steve he used to attend
Julliard and play the cello there. Steve begins to do some research and finds out he is telling the truth.
He begins writing a newspaper column on Nathaniel and spends more and more time with him. An
elderly woman was moved by the column and gave her cello to Steve to give to Nathaniel but on one
condition. It was of great value so it would need to be kept at a shelter called LAMP, and Nathaniel
could stay there or go there when he wanted to play it. Nathaniel was reluctant at first, but eventually
shows up at the shelter. We see flashbacks of Nathaniel s past and learn that he often hears voices,
which greatly affected his music career causing him to drop out of Julliard. He becomes very attached
to Steve as he puts him up in an apartment and gets him his first musical performance. But when
Nathaniel finds a paper saying he has schizophrenia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So many people do not recognize how serious of an illness mental illness is. A lot of people do not
even believe it is an actual thing. It is our job to make the public more aware and make them more
educated on how big of an issue this is and how serious it is. This film makes me want to focus my
future as a nursing professional in the mental health aspect of the field. I think I would also like to
volunteer my times at homeless shelters and such to really help those who cannot go to a medical
facility. One thing I need to keep in mind though that the movie really made me realize is that
sometimes people may not want my help or I may feel defeated but to remember that I am doing my

The Hard Life of the Amazon Essay
Almost every inhabitant of the Colombian Amazon has an interesting story to tell about their home,
which is one of the most amazing places in the world. The Amazon provides survival experiences,
exotic food, extreme recreation, and a unique livelihood to all those who have lived there. However,
the character and future of many has also been shaped by a context of poverty, harsh violence,
restricted opportunities, geographical disparities and gender inequity. Almost everyone who has loved
and lived under the magic of the Amazon has also lost loved ones. Many have died there, either by
direct armed conflict or by the weakness of the State regarding law enforcement and insufficient
ability of services to meet basic needs. I was raised in one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This environmental and social context has always encouraged me to better myself, the members of my
family, and the rest of the society that dwells in there. Obtaining my undergraduate degree in
Microbiology and my master s degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics allowed me
to work for nearly eight years in public goals oriented to sustainability in the Amazon Region. In my
professional experience I noticed that we are losing the fight against environmental degradation,
despite the efforts of Colombian institutions inspired by the Rio de Janeiro Convention. My
experiences in life, along with my academic and professional background, have enlightened my
pathway to earn a PhD degree and become a pioneer for women in the Colombian Amazon region to
reach a doctoral degree. I studied Microbiology not only because of my great interest in this field but
also because of its applicability to conservation of the Amazonian biodiversity. This formation in an
experimental science gave me tools for understanding the rules of life and the ecological principles.
Due to limited opportunities to find a job in microbiology, I switched to applied economics. I found
this field very useful for my region and saw opportunities to research in a social science, another
equally important field for conservation. During my formation many courses caught my attention and
expanded my analytical skills. In particular, Welfare Economics, Agricultural

Childhood And Adolescence During The Middle Ages
History has demonstrated that an evolution occurs with the aging of society. One such evolution is the
treatment of children. The concept of parens partriae was influenced by the exesting concepts of
childhood and adolescence during the Middle Ages. It experienced its first major evolution, judging
the 1960s, and has seen a further evolution in modern times. The following essay discuses those
evolutions, and evaluates if they are for the better, or worse.
According to dictionary.com definition of Parens Patriae is the government, or any other authority,
regarded as the legal protector of citizens unable to protect themselves. Parens Patriae is Latin for
parent of his or her country. It refers to the state s ability to act in the capacity of guardian for those
who have the inability to care for themselves. Examples of Parens Patriae are disabled individuals and
children. However, there has not always been protection for children. The middle Ages, was
significantly different for children, then it is at present. During the middle ages, the first relationship
that children experienced were within their immediate families. Like today, children lived with their
parents and siblings. However, because people dies younger, from disease, children were also know to
live with their extended families, such as aunts or uncles. Grandparents were disclosed, as most
grandparents would have died before most children were born. According to In Europe, during the

But there there are two types of people in this world that reacts to this, one is to give up and let life go out of control and let it ruin you, or someone can take the hit and keep moving forward. I just so happened to be in the first category When I was very young, I was very spoiled by my parents, so naturally I had a lot of trouble and hardships going from being a spoiled lazy brat to a responsible, hard working individual. • 7. Essay On Veterans Rights The issue that has been addressed throughout this study is veteran s rights. The issue of veteran s rights is still being pursued and is near and dear to me. Not only am I a veteran, but I come from a long line of men and women who have proudly worn the uniform in defense of our nation. Between the mindset of the American public, to the cases presented before Congress, this is an ongoing dilemma. Caring for our brothers and sisters in arms is the socially responsible thing to do. However, many roadblocks must be torn down before this can come to fruition. Problems Faced What some the symptoms of veteran s rights look like in regards to how they are addressed, are in multitude. They range in length from health care, education, to basic family needs. Overall, the American public does not pay attention to veterans, and this is mostly in part because the issues that plague our veterans are often deemed irrelevant by the average ... Gilded Era Vs Progressive Era After the Great Awakening, a religious and spiritual revival in the colonies, the unofficial United States aggressed a revolution against Great Britain, which won them a new government, freedom from an oppressive monarchy, and most importantly, their much earned independence. Eventually, slavery, a practice that had been used for decades before, became questioned. Congress was split sectionally on the issue, and soon the Civil War stuck. The north prevailed, and in 1865, the fight for abolition was over. • 10. Criminal Behavior And Social Control Our society is at the will of two fundamental forces: deviant behavior and social control. Behaviors that are not deemed as socially acceptable, or that do not fall in line with what society calls normal , are deviant. Social control aims to influence people s behaviors and is a means of moderating, as well as preventing deviance. The two forms of social control are informal and formal social control. The former consists of self control and relational controls (Owen, Fradella, Burke, Joplin, 2012, p. 103) while the latter uses governmental resources to deter deviance in its citizens. In my opinion, informal social control is a better deterrent of criminal behavior since your own will and how you are raised can be the greatest forces driving a person to live a good life or choose to start one. Informal social control comes down to two forms of interactions the ones that you form with yourself that develop your conscience and those that you experience with others. The first, internal, can not necessarily exist without the second, external, because we learn and gauge what is right or wrong from the environments and people around us. Our parents encouraging us to go to school, stay away from drugs, and raising us to be responsible members of society is an example of external social control. In contrast to informal social control, formal social control employs alternative methods of behavioral control. According to Owen, Fradella, Burke, Joplin (2012), Donald Black, a ... • 11. Mithraism In Christian Religion Mithraism is one of the most notable mystery cults to date, and its complexity has made it an intriguing area of research for historians and scholars alike. Although, details regarding its initiation rituals weren t disclosed to those outside of the cult, artifacts such as preserved areas of worship, wall paintings, and ritualistic objects have helped to piece together the practices of Mithraism. As more information about Mithraism is discovered, its similarity to modern religions, especially Christianity, becomes clear. As arguably the most popular mystery cult of its time, Mithraism s origins, rituals, and beliefs not only provided a base for Christianity, but also influenced Christian practice. Mithraism displayed strong ties with astronomy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most obvious similarity is that both Jesus and Mithra were born on December 25th. Although, historians argue that Jesus was most likely born sometime in the summer, the Mithra festivities on December 25th were likely absorbed into Christianity in order to make it easier for people of various faiths to convert, which would mean that Jesus birthday was directly pulled from Mithraic practice. Another parallel between Jesus and Mithra is that both figures worked miracles with water. Jesus is credited with turning water into wine, while Mithra made water pour from rock. Jesus and Mithra were both products of virgin births, although they varied in detail. Mithra was born from a rock, while Jesus was born from Mary, who was impregnated by the Holy Spirit in the body of a dove (Patterson, 14). Jesus and Mithra were both seen as figures of light, and their followers were promised eternal life through their devotion and connection with their deity. Followers of Mithra also shared feasts and communal meals that directly correspond to Christian communion, where followers eat bread as the flesh of Christ, and drink wine as the blood of Christ. Followers of Mithra also believed in redemption through sacrifice (Patterson, 22), which is a belief that is widely represented in Christianity. Mithraism and Christianity shared a high code of ethics where morality was based on duality. In Mithraism there, ...is a constant struggle between the spirit of evil and the spirit of good (Patterson, 40). The use of print with easily de codable and emotive images helped to redefine national identity as a virtuous and patriotic America, against a dangerous and destructive socialist east. The media distributed extreme propagandist slogans such as Better Dead than Red! This type of politicized propaganda served to cause hysteria over communism and nuclear war (Bernhard). It worked to subdue any domestic sympathy for the enemy or resistance to the conflict that usually occurs during war. It was a calculated action to maintain public antagonism towards the enemy and rejection of their political and economic policies. The media extended the propaganda to every aspect of western life, from radio, film, television and print to even schools. The film Red Nightmare was taught as part of the standard curriculum and is evidence of the media providing state sanctioned indoctrination of the populace. • 13. Ingenuity In The Odyssey The hero s character is itself quite unique, multifaceted such as his ingenuity. We can often call Ulysses by several nicknames, but those who return the more often showcase his ingenuity: the Inventive , industrious, ingenious . Moreover, it is to him that the Greeks owe their victory, thanks to the Trojan Horse ruse. Odysseus uses his ingenuity when a threat arises, but also by taste. Prudence and dissimulation are two features of this inventiveness. Thus, to protect himself, he maintains the mystery about his identity, as among the Phaeacians, but also on his return to Ithaca, helped by Athena. The suffering of Odysseus actually makes him also a sensitive hero in the Odyssey, far from conceited warrior of the Iliad. But to accomplish these feats, Odysseus needs weapons, and they are different from what one would expect. First, these are the weapons of man, and not those of the warrior that will allow Odysseus to survive from his adventures. He is a hero of endurance. • 14. Pocket Issue Of Pocket Medical Costs Introduction Out of pocket medical costs continue to cause debate in the U.S. Out of pocket costs consist of insurance premiums, co payments, co insurance, and unsubsidized care costs. Researchers suggest that out of pocket medical expenses have tripled for the average American family since 2001(Girod, 2016). Other studies indicate that the growth rate of these costs is double the annual income rate for U.S. individuals and families. Still, some argue that out of pocket medical costs are appropriate considering healthcare utilization (Cutler, 2004). This paper addresses the arguments supporting and refuting the stance that out of pocket medical expenses are too high. Why out of pocket costs are too high Insurance purchased through federal marketplace exchanges contain high deductibles and high co pays, causing high out of pocket costs. The introduction of insurance exchanges, coupled with the financial penalties of the individual mandate, added approximately 11 million individuals and families to the healthcare market place (Sun, 2016). The exchanges allow individuals to shop for insurance plans that contain varying levels of coverage. Although these plans cover preventive services, they do not protect against out of pocket costs. Research suggests that copay amounts under exchange plans are 20% higher than those of employer sponsored plans. Furthermore, studies show that deductible amounts for some exchange plans are five times greater than for employer sponsored plans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Look at the creativity that the guitarist in the last thirty to forty years have. Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Angus Young are three of the greatest guitarist. Imagine if their parents would have never bought them a guitar. Then some of the best music ever would have never been written. It is the ultimate feeling someone can receive when they are just playing along on an instrument and all of a sudden compose some sort of music. When I m playing my guitar just doing really nonsense chord progressions, or playing random riffs, and I build a song on the guitar the feeling is unreal. Once that happens the only thought that goes through my head is, Whoa, I just made music on my own. I ve been playing for about 8 years now and that feeling never goes away. Along with ... • 17. Rationality Vs. Rational Rationality Rationality, a vague term that is heavily used in classic economic theory as well as planning theory, represents a virtue that maximize the utility. There are basically two types of rationality, one is pure rationality, the other one is pragmatic rationality. The pure rationality, often called objective rationality, however, is an unreachable, ideal status that requires perfect knowledge.(Brooks 2002) The pragmatic rationality, which as its name implies, leans more toward daily use. To achieve the pragmatic rationality, we only need to make good use of the knowledge that we have in our hands, which, in my understanding, like the way that Sherlock Holmes solving a case. This, to a certain extent, guarantee that the comprehensive plan is about what the citizens really needs. However, as a matter of fact, we all know that the perfect, pure rationality only exist in the classic economic theory. In other words, the public is, by no means, being rational in deciding the goals and visions, and all the following steps such as alternatives that generated by rational thinking, are based on the irrational goals and visions. Hence, to what extent that the plan is rational? As one of the most popular types of plans, strategic plan, as its name implies, might be the best representative for rational planning. It shares similar process with the rational plan process, it includes a SWOT analysis part that add more sense of rationality to itself. However, as mentioned by Brooks, strategic plans still need a planner or a planning agency to make the assumptions, which, in the end, lead to the same problems that the other planning have, that is, using rational means to chase irrational goals and objectives. In response to such unreliability of rationality, planning theorists have taken various methods to face it. Some continued to use rationality and some completely abandoned it and went out to find new solutions. Others proposed multiple means that, in their own minds, solve the unreliability of rational planning. Different from the theorists, planning practitioners use rationality more as a mean to evade from politics, in other words, as an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Oil Persuasive Essay The world s oil reserve is destined to deplete and expected to peak in 2020 as it is decreasing in volume oil prices will go up, eventually leading to a plateau of oil based production.PErhaps As oil goes 1 barrel will produce 5.8 million BTU, it takes 75 BTU to boil a cup of water. As a substitute for oil I came to ethanol as a solution. if 1 barrel of oil produces 5.8 million BTU a barrel of ethanol will produce 3.5 million BTU. Ethanol could provide roughly 2/3 of the world s energy. But $770,000,000,000 for 11 days of world operation plus the additional 1/3 of energy needed to fill the oil void would cost much more than oil. The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES: EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management) Directed by Yeujun Yoon ABSTRACT The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release that has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence tourists to visit a location shown in the movies (Riley Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the number of tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released overseas based on the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and relative price, which are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism industry performs an important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism from movie induced tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private sectors working in these areas. Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between 1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated using the method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are negatively related to tourist arrivals. From the review, it is clear that sinuous antennas are very useful due to their wideband ability and dual polarized application. Hence, we can find a number of applications where these antennas are being used. Waldschmidt et al.1 have conducted a study and evaluated the use of the sinuous antenna for wideband multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and diversity applications. They found that in addition to being extremely broadband the sinuous antennas are also very compact. In fact, they found that when placing dipoles on the same space required by the sinuous antennas, that the sinuous would reach much greater capacities for multimode based MIMO systems. Edwards and Rebeiz2 utilized the sinuous antenna type placement on a silicon dielectric lens. The lens had a diameter of 50.8 mm necessitating a compact design. They chose the four arm sinuous antenna configuration as an alternative to traditional log periodic antennas, which suffer from polarization variation versus frequency and high cross polarization levels. Their results have shown that the lens coupled sinuous antennas do exhibit polarization stability and low cross polarization levels over a wide band. In addition, the antenna is very efficient, radiating only 5% of its total power to its backside. A much more recent application from Suzuki et al.3, again utilizes the silicon lens coupled sinuous antenna as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would modify the assertive model once again by using positive model step two, exploring between sets three and four of the assertive model. I believe students learn from making independent decisions, some of which may lead to mistakes. Mistakes can be a learning experience and are ok. In the poem Binsey Poplars written by Gerard Manley Hopkins in 1879, the speaker considers this issue while lamenting over the destruction of a line of poplar trees. In this essay, I will argue that the poem shows mankind s own fragility through the felling of the trees because of the speaker s emphasis on the contrast between nature and its destruction and the way nature and humans are associated with the use of imagery and figurative language. In the second and third stanzas, we are actually blamed for this irreversible damage, as seen in O if we but knew what we do / When we delve or hew (9 10) and To mend her we end her (16). By using the first person plural pronoun, the speaker includes not only themselves, but also the reader, who is also a human being, and in a general sense, part of mankind. However, humans are not only the agent of destruction, but the object of it as well. For instance, the repetition of the letter l in All felled, felled, are all felled (3) may form a visual representation of a line of trees, or a line of people. Moreover, there is a personification of nature throughout the poem; according to the speaker, nature is a woman, as said in Since country is so tender / To touch, her being so slender (12 13) and To mend her we end her (17). Budgets Are Essential Business Practice Abstract: Budgets are essential business practice embedded in organizations since the 1920 s and are considered key drivers and evaluators of managerial performance and key elements for planning and control. Budgets are thought to be the most powerful tool for management control; they play essential roles in the organization s political structure as they are used often to increase the power and authority of top management and limit the autonomy of lower level managers. Despite its ambiguous benefits, traditional budgeting presents organizations with various challenges. In recent times critics of traditional budgeting have increased vastly. The basis of this criticism is that traditional budgeting is a relic of the past. It prevents reactions to change in the market, it cannot keep up with the challenges and requirements of today s business world and it isn t useful for neither business management nor stakeholders. In an attempt to eliminate criticism, researchers and practitioners in the field of management accountancy have developed more systematic concepts of budgeting which that better suits the needs of the modern business environment. Congress showed its weakness that weighed heavily on debtors and having no power to tax. The confederation could only make requisition on the states but even then could only receive one sixth of the money. It seems unlikely for him to be able to shoot himself once with that gun, proceed to reload the gun and shoot himself once more. He would ve been dead after one shot and would not be able to shoot himself again with that kind of gun. The evidence from Priscilla Grinder, it was pretty off and suspicious. • 43. Speech On The Hitler Youth Speaking on the Hitler Youth, and just how violently anti Semitic the group was, Jewish survivor Marcel Back explained, On Sundays we like to go have a nice excursion in the forest, and then you saw a few of those so you tried to avoid to get close to them because they could beat you up (USC SFI VHA, Marcel Back). Another survivor, Fred Berdach noted, There were Hitler Youth on the streets [...] and they became bullies. You were bullied in the streets, you were bullied in the schools, you were bullied anywhere and everywhere (USC SFI VHA, Fred Berdach). Berdach s account was in reference to the evolution of the Hitler Youth in 1938, just three years before the beginning of the mass killing. Many of the then Hitler Youth members would have been eligible to become soldiers in WWII, as well as the older ex members. Perhaps the Hitler Youth members played the roles of enforcers of the killing program and pressured others into doing the same. A further demonstration of latent prejudice in twentieth century societies contributing to genocide is the lack of large scale support for the Jews from outsiders. According to Shlomo Aronson, the Allied Powers had influence in the Holocaust and could have taken steps to lessen the plight of the Jews, but instead turned a blind eye (Aronson, pp.266). Steinbeck frequently interrupts the flow of what could be considered the main story line, by throwing short segments into the writing thus introducing a new character (usually not directly connected to the primary story) or referencing some sort of cruel occurrence of real life. For example, in chapter twelve Steinbeck writes about the death of Josh Billings, an author who had come to Monterey. After Billings death, the doctor dumps his remains into a gulch, where a little boy and his dog later find them. The little boy, not knowing any better, takes the author s remains to use them for fishing. Upon hearing this, the town quickly collects all his insides and puts them in a leaden box, which was placed in Josh Billings coffin. The purpose of inserting this anecdote was to show the camaraderie and respect of the people in Cannery Row. At one point in the story, Steinbeck writes, Josh Billings was a great man, a great writer. He had honored Monterey by dying there and he had been degraded (64 65). Steinbeck demonstrates that by creating an atmosphere of noble intentions and good feelings for one another, everyone is able to live in a world of peace even when there are bad times.
