• Height of Object
For stopping sight distance calculations, the height of
object is considered to be 600 mm [2.0 ft] above the road
surface.
For overtaking sight distance calculations, the height of
object is considered to be 1,080 mm [3.5 ft] above the
road surface.
10. Intermediate sight distance
• Intermediate sight distance equal to twice
stopping sight distance may be provided.
• The measurement of the intermediate sight
distance may be made assuming both the height
of the eye level of the driver and the object to be
1.2 m above the road surface.

• It is important that on all approaches of intersecting
roads, there is a clear view across the corners from a
sufficient distance so as to avoid collision of vehicle.
