This document describes a case study on using gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) analysis to improve quality in a manufacturing industry. The study was conducted over four months and involved measuring the diameter of liner cylinders using three operators and repeating measurements three times on 14 parts. Minitab software was used to generate a gauge run chart and variation reports from the measurement data. The results were then analyzed to determine how much variation in measurements was caused by the measurement system versus natural product variation. Issues with repeatability and reproducibility across operators were identified. Implementing GR&R analysis helped reduce rejection rates and costs from poor quality parts in the industry.
