This document summarizes an experimental study that used the Taguchi method to optimize cutting parameters (speed, feed rate, depth of cut) for maximizing the material removal rate (MRR) during turning of EN-31 hardened steel. Experiments were conducted using a CNC lathe with different parameter combinations based on an L9 orthogonal array. The MRR was measured and analyzed using signal-to-noise ratios to determine the optimal parameter settings. Regression analysis was performed to develop a predictive model. Analysis of variance showed that all parameters significantly affected MRR. The optimal parameters found were cutting speed of 900 RPM, feed rate of 0.3 mm/rev, and depth of cut of 0.9 mm. This provided a maximum

Finite Element Analysis of Single Point Cutting ToolIJMER
In this project, temperature at tool-tip interface is determined, generated in high-speed machining operations. Specifically, three different analyses are comparing to an experimental measurement of temperature in a machining process at slow speed, medium speed and at high speed. In addition, three analyses are done of a High Speed Steel and of a Carbide Tip Tool machining process at three different cutting speeds, in order to compare to experimental results produced as part of this study. An investigation of heat generation in cutting tool is performed by varying cutting parameters at the suitable cutting tool geometry. The experimental results reveal that the main factors responsible for increasing cutting temperature are cutting speed (v), feed rate (f), and depth of cut (d), respectively. It is also determined that change in cutting speed and depth of cut has the maximum effect on increasing cutting temperature. Various researches have been undertaken in measuring the temperatures generated during cutting operations. Investigators made attempt to measure these cutting temperatures with various techniques during machining.
In this project, “Fluke 62 max IR thermometer” (Range -40 0C to 650 0C) is used for measuring temperature at tool-tip interface. Single point cutting tool has been solid modeled by using CAD Modeler Pro/E and FEA carried out by using ANSYS Workbench 14.5. Experimental work is done at “Khushi Engineering”, Nagpur.
By varying various parameters the effect of those on temperature are compared with the experimental results and FEA results. After comparison nearly 4% variation is found in between the results.

In this research work turning operation is performed on AISI 1020 mild steel. Here we conducted experiments by taking Cutting Speed, Feed Rate & Depth of cut as process parameters and got the optimized value of MRR & SR. An L9 orthogonal array, the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio are employed to the study the performance characteristics in the turning using WNMG332RP carbide insert with a nose radius of 0.8mm. Taguchi method is used to optimize surface roughness and material removal rate (MRR) during machining operation on CNC turning. The experimental result shows that on increasing depth of cut and feed the combined S/N ratio increases while on increasing cutting speed the combined S/N ratio decreases. It results that cutting speed is most significantly influences the Surface roughness followed by feed and in case of MRR, depth of cut is the most significant parameter followed by cutting speed .While the combination of both is most significantly affected by the depth of cut followed by the feed.

Optimization of Machining Parameters for Turned Parts Through Taguchi’...ijsrd.com
The objective of the study is to achieve minimum requirement of radial force during machining of turned parts. This analysis presents the influence of process parameters (nose radius, cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut) on the radial force as a response variable. For experimentation, an L18 Orthogonal Array (OA) of Taguchi design of experiment is used. EN-16 steel alloy is used as work material because this material has a wide range of applications in automotive industries etc. Carbide cutting inserts are used during experimentations. Furthermore, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) is also applied to find out the most considerable factor. The entire analysis work is carried out using Minitab-16 software. The optimal setting of parameters is: 3rd level of cutting speed, 1st level of feed rate and 1st level of depth of cut. Depth of cut is most significant factor and nose radius is insignificant factor. Finally confirmation experiments are done to verify the optimal results.
Optimization of Force and Surface Roughness for Carbonized Steel in Turning P...IJERA Editor
These days one of the most important machining processes in industries is turning. Turning is affected by many
factors such as the cutting velocity, feed rate, depth of cut and geometry of cutting tool etc., which are input
parameters in this paper work. The desired product of dimensional accuracy and less surface roughness is
influenced by cutting force and tool vibration which are the responses and the functions of these input
parameters. In this paper work we determine the optimal setting of cutting parameters cutting speed, depth of
cut, feed and of the tool by using artificial neural network to get a maximum cutting force an minimum surface
roughness. This study highlights the use of modern optimization technique to optimize the multi response in
turning operation.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
