 People management is also known as personal management.
It is obtaining, using and maintaining a satisfied workforce.
 It is concerned with employees at work with their relationship
within organization.
DEFINITION
 According to flippo “it is the planning, organizing,
compensating, integrating and maintaining people
for the purpose of contribution to the organizational
and individual and society goals.
FUNCTIONS OF PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
 There are two categories of functions. They are-
 Managerial- planning, organizing, motivating, controlling,
 Operative- procurement, development, compensation,
integration.
OBJECTIVES OF PEOPLE MANAGER
 According to Michael J. jucius objectives are:
 Attaining organizational goals effectively and
economically.
 Serving individual goals to the highest possible
degree,
 Preserving and advancing the general welfare of
the community.
ROLE OF PEOPLE MANAGER
 Personal manager is the head of people’s
department. His roles are:
He provides assistance to the top management.
He advices the line manager as a staff specialist
 He acts as mediator, counselor, spokesman.
