Why Did Italy Become A Member Of The Triple Entente
In 1915 Italy and Austria engaged in a gruesome war in one of the most unique and challenging
battlefields the tops of the Dolomite mountain range. The two countries were fighting to gain control
of the Trentino and South Tyrol areas. Austria was allied with Germany, in an alliance called the Dual
Alliance. Previously, Italy was also allied with these two countries, but when the Triple Alliance
agreement ended just before WW1, Italy decided to remain neutral. Then, in 1915 Italy joined the
Triple Entente which included England, France, and Russia, to fight against the Dual Alliance. One of
the reasons why Italy became a member of the Triple Entente was because the Treaty of London, a
secret pact between the Triple Entente and Italy, promised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1915, Italy was fully unified except for the region of Trento, which was occupied by the Austrians.
Returning Trentino to Italy became a common goal for citizens and also helped to give rise to the age
of nationalism. Norberto Bobbio, an italian philosopher of political science and a historian, said the
objectives of the great war were for the liberty of all, in fact the participation of Italy with the Triple
Entente against the Duple Alliance wasn t seen as a new beginning of the Italian Empire but as the last
war of the Risorgimento. . Every single different political group wanted Italy completely unified.
Nationalism was fairly new in Italy because of it s just recent unification, but even though it was new,
in the beginning of the 20th century the shipowners, farmers, and the blacksmiths all favoured the
nationalists. In the 23rd of May, the day that Italy declared war against Austria, all the italians
celebrated. In fact in Civitavecchia the whole town accompanied and celebrated the soldiers who were

Fighting Charges of Assimilation in Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun and The Cosby Show
The critical reception of The Cosby Show, an enormously popular television sitcom in the 1980 s,
roughly paralleled that of A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry s highly acclaimed play of the 1950
s. Both the television series and the play helped change the way Blacks are portrayed in the
entertainment media. But despite being initially greeted with critical praise, both subsequently fell
under heavy scrutiny by many critics for being too assimilationist. However, in both cases, the charges
of assimilation may perhaps be too harsh. A Raisin in the Sun, a drama of a middle class family in
Chicago, should not be regarded as a wholehearted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He longs for the socioeconomic advantages of the affluent people and assimilates to their ideas. As
Darwin Turner explains, Walter typifies the upward moving American male. He honors ruthless
capitalism (4). However, all of this is not to say that Hansberry s play condones or endorses this kind
of attitude or ideal. Nor is it accurate to assume that the play is against such assimilationist goals.
Instead, A Raisin in the Sun remains decidedly and deliberately ambiguous in any sort of moral
judgment.
The 1950 s was a decade in which black literature emphasized the issue of integration. Black writers
also consciously stressed the similarities between Blacks and Whites. Hansberry believed that blacks
and Whites had similar character traits and values, as A Raisin in the Sun demonstrates. However,
Hansberry assumed a consciously ambivalent stance in regard to social integration (Turner, 4). The
Youngers did not want to move into a white community merely out of a desire to live with whites.
They moved out of a desire for freedom and opportunity rather than for social integration. But this
motivation should not be construed as a desire to assimilate. Instead, it is a desire to achieve an ideal
shared by all Americans. In this regard, A Raisin in the Sun is not a mere proponent of black
assimilation the play deals realistically

Tthe Role of Amoeba in Human Disease
Review the Role of Amoeba in Human Disease
Introduction
Free living amoebae (FLA) are eukaryotic organism found ubiquitously in nature. They are found in
soil (dust), air, water and air, which provide amoeba multiple opportunities to spread (c). These can be
pathogenic or non pathogenic. Pathogenic FLA can invade and cause opportunistic and non
opportunistic infections in humans, which are found in the genus Acanthamoeba, Balamuthia
mandrillaris, Naegleria fowleri, and Sappinia pedata (b). Hartmannella is a genus of amoeba which is
in water systems of drinking water, cooling towers and hospitals. They are capable of harbouring
micro organisms like bacteria or pathogenic yeasts. This helps the micro organisms to develop and
spread (d) (e). Discussion
In Mexico city, in a survey looking at pathogenic and FLA inhabiting swimming pool water it was
found that the most and least common species of amoeba was Naegleria gruberi Schardinger (
59.02%) , Naegleria fowleri (16.77%), Acanthamoeba castellanii (7.64%) and Thecamoeba verrucosa
(0.12%). (a)
Naegleria has 30 different species.Naegleria Fowleri species is a thermo tolerant ameobaflagellate,
which causes primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) that affects the Central Nervous System
(CNS). Children and young adults exposed to polluted fresh water after 1 to 2 days experience PAM.

The Leader I Will Position This Paper On Is Warren Buffet
The leader I will position this paper on is Warren Buffet. A well known person in the business world
as well as known the past years for his philanthropy, in partnership with Bill Gates has donated a large
proportion of their income and investments to a foundation that fights poverty and several other causes
that trouble this planet. I I first became actively interested in Warren Buffett in 2009 as a sophomore in
college, then studying for management methods and great leaders. Since then I have been looking
through the new and track down this man s incredible career.
With a course in business since he was eleven years old, Buffet went from a pin ball machine owner in
his teen year to a billionaire. He was described by his friends and family as a mathematical prodigy;
Buffet completed his studies at the University of Nebraska and acquired his master s degree from
Columbia Business School under Benjamin Graham, which eventually became his mentor and
employer. Various investments and entrepreneurship s put Buffet today in the pantheon of living
business legends, with the most significant the acquire of Berkshire Hathaway a textile business that
was turned into a billion dollar organization. In addition, he owns a large percentage in Coca Cola,
which he served as a CEO for a few years, but also subsidiaries that the past decade have skyrocketed
to the Fortune 500, such as Geiko, Heinz, Washington Post and Exxon. The press and his coworkers

Del Frisco s does an exceptional job for their quality of delectable food. For it is a steakhouse, the
menu mainly consists of different types of steaks. There are six main choices of steak, which include
Filet Mignon, Prime Rib eye, Prime Strip, Prime Porterhouse, and Wagyu Long Bone. The different
cuts of meat vary with the option of eight to thirty two ounce portions. The steaks are cooked to near
perfection, exactly as you order them. The server informs you on how the steak will be cooked, with
how red or pink it will come out. There is an array of side dishes to select from to pair along your
perfectly cooked steak, such as the guest favorite of the Jalapeno Bacon Mac and Cheese. Before your
main course, the appetizer choices are affable. The most popular appetizer that people rave about is
the Crab Cake served with Cajun lobster sauce, as it comes out looking almost too wonderful to eat.

Misguided Views In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary
Selfishness and Misguided Views in Madame Bovary
The majority of Gustave Flaubert s 1857 classic novel, Madame Bovary , tells of the marriage and two
adulterous affairs of one lady, Madame Emma Bovary. Emma, believing she is in love, agrees to
marry the widower doctor who heals her father s broken leg. This doctor, Charles Bovary, Jr., is
completely in love with Emma. However, Emma finds she must have been mistaken in her love, for
the happiness that should have followed this love (44) has not come. Emma is misguided in her beliefs
on the meaning of love and happiness. It is also apparent that she considers herself more important
than anyone connected with her, including her husband, her daughter, and her two lovers. ... Show

As she is dancing, Emma observes the superiority of the wealthy compared to herself. Their clothes,
better made, seemed of finer cloth . . .. They had the complexion of wealth, that clear complexion that
is heightened by the pallor of porcelain, the shimmer of satin . . . (66). This night helps Emma erase
from her memory the fact that she is the daughter of a less than wealthy man; she now believes she is
too grand to be of such breeding. Only a day after the ball, Emma is more unhappy than before, as she
longs for the greatness that the wealthy possess. Madame Bovary denies herself happiness by refusing
to enjoy her life with Charles, and wanting more for herself than what she has.
Charles, though his practice is doing well, decides to move to Yonville. He wants only to please
Emma, and feels the move will be beneficial to her health; she is pregnant. Emma s selfishness even
prevents her from experiencing the happiness of motherhood. Charles considers the pregnancy another
bond of the flesh establishing itself, and . . . a continued sentiment of a more complex union (115 and
116). Emma is at first astonished, and then eager to deliver, so she can experience motherhood.
But not being able to spend as much as she would have liked, to have a swing bassinette with rose silk
curtains, and embroidered caps, in a fit of bitterness she gave up looking after the trousseau, and

Summary Of Unnatural Causes
Episode one of the video series Unnatural Causes focuses on two very important topics that are of
extreme importance, they are Sickness and Wealth. Sickness and wealth is what the typical person in
life wants to have. The video starts off with opening in Louisville, Kentucky explore why people get
sick and why certain sickness and health depend on race and social class. The video walks through the
lives of different social classes to have a better understanding of how people in each class live. A
CEO, a lab supervisor, a janitor, and an unemployed mother are all monitored for a period of time to
show the audience how each person in their own social live and what struggles each member from
each social class goes through. People who are in the lower class level tend to worry more about not
being to pay the bills; moreover, will the family have food to eat tonight? These thoughts and
questions are what a typical person will go through almost every other day because and it all depends
on what is the person s social class. According to the video Unnatural Causes episode 1 Louisville

12th century, England claimed sovereignty over Ireland. However, English rule did not extend over
the whole island until the 16th 17th century Tudor conquest. This led to colonisation of Ireland by
settlers from Britain. In the 1690s, a system of Protestant English rule was designed to materially
disadvantage the Catholic majority and Protestant dissenters, and was extended during the 18th
century. In 1801, Ireland became a part of the United Kingdom. A war of independence in the early
20th century was followed by the partition of the island, creating the Irish Free State, which became
increasingly sovereign over the following decades, and Northern Ireland which remained a part of the

Introduction Interpersonal conflicts are inevitable. Different texts suggest not how to avoid conflict,
but rather how to effectively communicate when involved in one. However, the rules of constructive
communication can completely change in conflicts between people in long term, interdependent
relationships. This paper will focus on analyzing a conversation between a mother and her adult son,
while applying ideas from William Wilmot and Joyce Hocker s Interpersonal Conflict, Deborah
Tannen s I Only Say This Because I Love You, and the Conflict Styles lecture.

He does so in a way that is assertive rather than aggressive. Instead of aggressively pushing his
thoughts onto Dianne without explanation, Earl works towards achieving his desired goals by openly
expressing his frustration as a response to his mother s commands. In conjunction with his dominant
conflict style, he threatens, the more you tell me to, the more I won t, which qualifies as a threat,
because it meets the two required criteria. First, the source of the threat must control the outcome. Earl
controls the outcome of the situation since he has the ability to either obey or disobey Dianne.
Secondly, the threat must be seen as negative by the recipient. In this case, the recipient Dianne sees
the condition of Earl s comment as negative since she will not get her way (Wilmot and Hocker, 159).
Earl uses the threat in an attempt to put an end to his mother s current and future demands. However,
the use of a threat begs the question, what is gained? Although Earl solves his immediate issue of
changing the sheets at his own convenience, he risks leaving the bigger problem unresolved and
damaging the relationship with his mother (Wilmot and Hocker, 160). After this one instance, Dianne

Masterpieces Always Come With Good Reasons And Fantastic
Masterpieces always come with good reasons and fantastic story telling. On one hand, a good reason
or a logic progress with facts makes a work more convincing; on the other hand, those fantacies and
make ups show a writer s reflection on facts and reasons he or she received, and are extensions of
those facts and reasons, rendering the work interesting and even more convincing. In three famous and
classic works, On Liberty, Hard Times, and The Communist Manifesto, we can see how writers
combine facts with fictions and compose excellent works.
I. On Liberty by John Stuart Mill
In his work On Liberty, Mill starts from historical facts, analysing facts using his reasons and gets his
conclusions; then, changing his way he used to use, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He even chooses such a noble man, to show that we, who do not possess so much wisdom and virtue
as that emperor, should be more careful so that we do not make this mistake.
Furthermore, Mill writes that It is a bitter thought, how different a thing the Christianity of the world
might have been, if the Chritian faith had been adopted as the religion of the empire under the
auspices of Marcus Aurelius instead of those of Constantine (On Liberty, John Stuart Mill, Page.28).
Here, Mill makes up a different outcome with the historical fact, that the noble emperor did not
persecute Christianity but supported it. Undoubtly, Mill wants to demonstrate that Christianity could
develop better under the support of Marcus Aurelius with his wisdom and virtue that nobody could
reach. Again, Mill stresses his arguement here that we should be alert with the mistake that deny a
hearing to opinions because we, in our judgement, have condemned them (On Liberty, John Stuart
Mill, Page.25) so that we can make things better.
In conclusion, Mill, from two aspects, fact and fiction, stresses his arguement and makes his
arguements more convincing and impressive to readers.
II. Hard Times by Charles Dickens
Hard Times is a novel, so this work can be regarded as a fiction; however, it is also a novel that
reflects facts and satirizes facts. Though the story is fancy, the background really shows British social
conditions at that time. Therefore, in his

Alarmed by the repressive measures of the British crown and Parliament, Washington became a leader
in Virginia s opposition to Great Britain s colonial policies. At first he hoped for reconciliation with
Britain. In July, 1774 he presided over a meeting in Alexandria that adopted the Fairfax Resolves,
calling for the establishment and enforcement of a stringent boycott on British imports prior to similar
action by the First Continental Congress. As a delegate to the First and Second Continental Congress
1774 and 1775 Washington did not participate actively in the deliberations, however, his presence was
undoubtedly a stabilizing influence. In June 1775 he was Congress s unanimous choice as commander
in chief of the newly created Continental Army when fighting broke out between Massachusetts and
the British.
Washington took command of the troops surrounding British occupied Boston on July 3, devoting the
next few months to training the undisciplined 14,000 man army and trying to secure urgently needed
powder and other supplies. Early in March 1776, he took command of the makeshift force and moved
his army to New York. Defeated there by the combined land and sea forces of General William Howe,

Benefits Of Payroll Outsourcing
Payroll outsourcing can save companies time and money. It allows the business to not waste man
hours handling a function that doesn t bring in any revenue. The cost of payroll processing is greatly
reduced by using a payroll service company. It usually costs more to pay an employee to handle the
payroll than it would cost to outsource to a professional company.
Another cost savings of outsourcing is avoiding penalties and fees from the IRS and state if a tax
filing or payment is submitted late or incorrectly. In the event that an error does occur most payroll
service companies will pay the penalties and interest that are accrued.
Payroll companies [http://www.apluspayrollservice.com] stay up to date on the newest tax tables and

Written Assignment Sexual Misconduct The Chicago School Professional Psychology Aysen Lengerli
Topcu Sexual Misconduct Sexual misconduct, as a sub type of sexual violence, refers to the wide
range of sexual act. As a general definition, according to World Health Organization (WHO) (2012)
sexual violence is defined as: any sexual act, attempt to obtain a sexual act, unwanted sexual
comments or advances, or acts to traffic, or otherwise directed, against a person s sexuality using
coercion, by any person regardless of their relationship to the victim, in any setting, including but not
limited to home and work. On the other hand, this is quite broad definition and more detailed
description is needed especially for the school, or institutional policies. For example, according to
Yale University policies (2014) the sexual misconduct definition is: a range of behaviors including
sexual assault, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, stalking, voyeurism, and any other
conduct of a sexual nature that is nonconsensual, or has the purpose or effect of threatening,
intimidating, or coercing a person. In fact, sexual misconduct and harassment include variety of
unsolicited behaviors, it could be difficult to display all related sexual harassment behaviors in any
policies, the ethical codes or even legal statute. For example, along with the development of
technology, new types of sexually violent behavior have arisen. Without a mutual agreement, taking

Religious Hypocrisy In Tartuffe
The Essay I have chosen is Tartuffe by Moliere. It is about a wealthy family, whose male of the family
or father named Orgon met this young man named Tartuffe on the streets of France who is a Religious
hypocrite, an imposter who uses religious cant, and practices to impose on the credulity of Orgon who
befriends Tartuffe. Orgon brings him into his home, and Tartuffe uses him seeming piety to propose
that he should marry Orgons daughter Mariane, even though she is already promised to another.
Tartuffe then endeavors to seduce Orgons wife Elmire by holding her hand, patting her knee, fingering
her lace collar, and making accusations of love to her. When his conduct is told to Orgon by Elmire
and their son Damis, Orgon is being foolish and forgives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The central theme of Tartuffe is the exploration of religious hypocrisy in contrast to true Christian
virtue. Tartuffe is a hypocrite because he creates an outward appearance of extreme piety and religious
devotion, while secretly leading a life of crime and immoral behavior. Throughout the play, various
characters refer to Tartuffe as a hypocrite and can see clearly that he does not practice what he
preaches. For Example, Tartuffe instructs his servant to tell anyone who asks that he is busy giving out
charity to the poor and downtrodden, where as in fact he was attempting to seduce Elmire. Other
principal themes throughout the play include Dichotomy of man and mask, where Orgon found
Tartuffe on the street as a homeless man preaching of religious faith but he was nothing more than a
religious hypocrite. Another theme is the struggle for economic power, where Tartuffe comes from
being a homeless man to attempting to become the owner of all the property of Orgon. At the very end
of the play there is seemingly another small theme called Deus ex Machina, it is shown when the
officer comes in to the play to execute the eviction order, and instead of taking away Orgon, he takes
away Tartuffe because of him now being the owner of the property. Then the king, who in Deus ex
Machina is considered the god, finds out what Tartuffe

Compare and Contrast of Judaism, Christianity and Islam
There have been a variety of conflicts in the world since the beginning of the human civilization,
many of which get their roots from the beliefs of their different religions. In order to understand and
eliminate the conflicts originated from different religions, it is important to take a look at the
similarities and differences among Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
As the largest three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam all believe in one God and
the uniqueness of that God. At the same time, there are some differences among their beliefs in God.

In Christianity, Jesus is considered to be the Word of God whose word should be worshipped and
followed without question. As the founder of Christianity and the second entity of the Trinity, Jesus
acts as the leader of The Christian Faith. In Sermon on the Mount, Jesus delivered the doctrine to the
people, to tell them what to do and what not to do. In Nicene Creed, ...For our sake he was
crucified...he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again...he ascended into
heaven... As the medium between God and human beings, Jesus does not only deliver Word of God,
but also sacrificed himself for all the sins of mankind. He fulfilled his mission to reconcile man to
God. Unlike Christianity, Judaism and Islam do not think Jesus is god. Muslims take Jesus, called Isa
in The Quran, as the most important prophet who was sent by Allah and born of the Virgin Mary, but
not divine. He was sent to proclaim the gospel that has been corrupted over time by human additions
and alterations. After Jesus fulfilled his mission, he was was raised to Heaven by Allah. Since the
belief of the absolute unity and oneness of God, Judaism forbids the worship of any person as idolatry.
In Hebrew Bible, Jesus is less important than he is in Quran. He is considered an ordinary Jew who is
either messiah (a king or High Priest traditionally anointed with holy anointing oil) or nor a divine
person. Judaism does not accept any of the claimed fulfillments of Jesus s prophecy as Christianity

Police Canine Police Dogs
Police canine dogs are rapidly becoming a major part of the criminal justice police force. You may ask
yourself why are they becoming such a large part of the operation. This spike in the use of canine
police dogs is the result of many different things. Three of them being the fact that they can smell
extremely well. They also can replace a police officer from having to enter a hostile location. Finally
dogs are extremely efficient trackers. This is why i believe dogs are a major asset to the police force
and are inexpendable to the force.
Dogs can smell very well. At first they tested dogs and their ability to smell a few particles per

India and found the communities in the country divided into various groups (Ali 2006). The groups
were called castes that meant tribes or clans. Caste is the system of groups within a class that are
endogamous, commensal, and craft exclusive. The members of a particular caste system marries only
within the group, eats only the food received from the group, and every man of the group lives by only
the trade or the profession they undertake. The origin

Van Gogh Essay examples
Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in Zundert, a village in the south of the
Netherlands. His father was the protestant minister of the place, but three of his father s brothers were
art dealers, and so it is only natural that Vincent became an apprentice at the shop of his uncle Vincent
van Gogh in The Hague. His uncle had become a partner in the firm of Goupil amp; Cie, and after
having worked in The Hague for four years Vincent was sent to other branches of the Goupil firm,
first in London, then in Paris.
During the years in London and Paris, Vincent had developed an intense love for the Church and a
desire to follow in the footsteps of his father. In England ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His first drawings from Etten are still very clumsy, but in a few months a great improvement is
noticeable, and the progress becomes amazing as soon as he had settled in The Hague (after a row
with his father about his refusal to go to church at Christmas). Here he had some help from a very
good painter, called Anton Mauve, who also gave him some painting lessons. In the two years that Van
Gogh spent in The Hague (1882 83), he produced some two hundred drawings, most of which are very
characteristic figure studies, either after the woman who shared his life in The Hague, Sien Hoornik,
or after men and women from an old people s home, but there are also excellent landscapes, such as
the views of the gardens and meadows behind his house. One of the most famous of his figure studies
is the seated nude, titled Sorrow, for which Sien had sat as a model. This portrait, of which he also
made a lithograph, is typical for what his ideal in drawing was; he wanted to achieve more than mere
technical perfection: his real aim was expression. He wanted to express the misery of the poor people
with whom he was surrounded, and also their dignity. He admired the wood engravings of The
Graphic, buying and collecting as many as he could, especially its quot;Heads of the People, quot;

An Analysis Of Curiosity In Monkey s Paw By W. Jacobs
Curiosity In Humanity Since the beginning of time, humans have always been captivated by the
endless possibilities of life and the intricate subject of fate and destiny. Perhaps, it is simply integrated
into our nature. Although that wonder does come at a price in particular cases, it does not stop us from
collectively seeking out new experiences, and that is probably for the better. As seen in multiple
scenarios, whether it be in fiction or reality, curiosity is either paired with victory or loss or sometimes
both. In the Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs, for example, the Whites family is seduced by an ominous
yet irresistible magical mummified monkey s paw. Even though each of their three wishes come true,
they are fulfilled at the result of drastic and horrifying circumstances. In comparison, when a person in
real life is curious about a questionable desire, it can have the same awful conclusion as in a work of
fiction. For instance, wishing to partake in drugs and or alcohol for the sake of indulgence can lead to

If the people who founded NASA were not curious enough about the final frontier, then we certainly
would not have the enchanting and brilliant program that we have today. So many vital events
occurred due to human fascination with the scene around us that life would most surely not be the
same today. In conclusion, although curiosity can be at times dangerous, humanity will simply not
refrain from asking questions because it is so finely imprinted into our species. In fact, even though
some people are interested in a particular area or areas and not in others it does not stop them from
being a curious person. After all, there is a reason why we are constantly reminded that curiosity is an
invaluable human trait, because without it, we would have close to

Feminism In Margaret Atwood s Alias Grace
The book Alias Grace worked through the investigation into the trial of Grace Marks. Allegedly, Grace
Marks, a humble house servant, worked with a fellow coworker to kill two of her employers.
However, the mystery comes into play because Grace never admitted to the crimes. Instead, she
pleaded innocenece and was convicated to a life in a penitentiary, but after over a decade in prison, a
psychologist comes to try and solve the m,ysetery: did Grace Kill them, did she not kill them, was she
acting in free will or under insdanity, were the murders promted by an affair the public wanted
answers to the questions they still asked. WHile the book chronicals the exploration of a mystery, the
book s purpose isn t just to get to the bottom of things, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a feminist reader, I first saw Grace as a feminist woman: she stood up to her father by getting a job
and staying with the job even though that meant leaving her family, and she worked all through her
teen years, making her a woman in the workplace . She even worked when men didn t, as the book
mentioned a boy her age Jamie didn t have as much responsibility as she did. However, Atwood
created a conflict within Grace on the subject of sexuality by having Grace extremely anti sexuality
for woman. Countless times throughout the book she looked down on female sex workers and woman
who had affairs and even rejected the advcances of men because she did not believe it was valid for a
woman to want sexual liberation. Especially on the subject of sex wokrers, she judged men for going
to them with the equivilant of a slap on the wrist where as if she had her way, she d kick every
prostiutute by the booty out of her town. Whenever she saw or thought of them, she d call them
whores and discuss how she d rather kill herself than indulge in sex for money. I saw this as
conflicting, because prostitutes are stiill women in the workplace and they support themselves rather
than having men support them, and Grace does the same thing, just by housekeeping, not sex. Still, I d
assume Grace would support fellow woman, but she outright attacks them. Atwood uses a murder
mystery and a facet of the murder was it affair driven to touch on how feminism varies and there ;s a
difference between men and woman in terms of sex that even strong omwan like Grace refuse to
rectify. Atwood uses details of Grace s story to make a social crituque on how men and woman differ
in terms of sexual liberation, and how it s still not see as equal for men to be whores and women to be
whores. Even today, girls get called sluts for having sex whereas men get high fives, especially from
parents, and part of the reason is the threat of pregancy,

The Growing Importance Of Ethical Business Managers
The Growing Importance of Ethical Business Managers
Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) describe that the need for ethical business managers and practices has
never been greater. Recent financial scandals have exposed issues in the management decision making
process, suggesting a need to develop the necessary analytical and empathetic qualities so future
corporate leaders may be moral managers (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). This recent pattern of
business misconduct (Michaelson, 2015) and single minded pursuit of profit has made the promotion
of ethical values a key concern for modern business organizations (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010).
This paper will discuss how literary fiction (i.e. novels, literature, narrative, fiction, drama, comics)
can help organizations develop ethical managers by discussing (1) the growing importance of ethical
business managers (2) the benefits of a novel approach to business ethics, and (3) the moral value of
literary fiction to business.
During the past few years, many companies have seen their reputations plummet in the wake of
various corporate scandals (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). With this context of an amoral and inept
set of global management practices, Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) propose the need for a new breed
of manager, namely the moral manager. While Eastwood describes that leadership is an essentially
moral act, he elaborates that there is a disconnection between this notion and the behavior of some

Role Of A Woman Within Islam And Their Daily Source Of...
Women in Islam are constantly viewed, from the Western standpoint, as a suppressed culture. Though
this may be true to certain extents, such as not mixing in with the men at mosque, we can find that
generally, the Islamic woman is well respected and held in high regard. Women in Islam are; mothers,
sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this
research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islam and their daily source of happiness.
An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American
woman. In some aspects, an American woman may be in awe to learn the truth behind the Muslim
female world. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support and works to
provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. Though in the Islamic world,
the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman may work to acquire
money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help her husband support the
family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice).
Another common misconception when comparing an American woman to an Islamic woman would be
their appearances. The American woman typically strives to be the best looking one in the bunch,
show enough skin, but not too much skin. Put on enough makeup to cover blemishes and skin
problems. Wear the newest, hippest clothing they are allowed to

The Pedestrian Summary
THE PEDESTRIAN ANALYASIS
The pedestrian is a short story written by Ray Bradbury in 1953, the story takes place in the year of
2053. In the story, we follow Leonard Mead as he goes for an evening stroll among tomb like homes ,
until a police car interrupts him. In the end, the police car takes him away to the Psychiatric Center for
Research on Regressive Tendencies. The story is told using a third person limited narrator, which is
great for keeping the story s mysteries as mysteries, since we as a reader cannot look inside of Mr.
Mead s mind and get the full picture, but only discover this new world one step at the time as the story
continues. To let the reader, discover this new world as the story continues and also keep them

It has been made quite clear that the world he lives in, at least at that time of day, is dark and shadowy.
It seems like he is the odd one out, his mindset has not changed even though his surroundings have
and because of this, he is incoherent, someone who is somehow unadapted to this new world. This is
shown many times during the story, for an example; but it really made no difference; he was alone in
this world of 2053 A.D., or as good as alone...
By smartly using the abbreviation A.D. (Anno Domini, which means in the year of our Lord )
Bradbury hints that this world and/or universe might be the same as the one we live in, or at least it
might have been at some point.
By not having a telescreen, he is excluding himself from this new soiciety, since intertainment and life
in general seems to be centered around a television in this world
And by being an outcast he is also a threat to the system becuase he does not remain distracted and
steady while being isolated inside his house behind a screen.
If he was born into this world he problerly woulnd find it so strange. He al so mntions the election and
the removal of police cars as if has exprienced it all. He has knowlege of the world that was before. A

In Pericles s Funeral Speech for Athenian War Dead, he brings the listeners attention to the form of

the leadership strategy of Pericles.
Throughout Pericles s childhood, he interacted with artist, philosophers, and musicians. This
interaction took a huge role in his character, and he became a leader of Athens and a huge supporter of
the arts. After the Persian invasion in 480, most Athenians refused to rebuild Acropolis which was in a
state of ruin and served as a reminder of the price of the previous war. Regardless of their refusal,
Pericles convinced them to rebuild Acropolis. The centerpiece of Acropolis was a temple of ... Show

White, White And The Construction Of Cultureless ...
Many people from different cultures including white people will describe white American culture as

Construction of Cultureless Identities by Pamela Perry we learn that in two different schools one
which is mainly white and the other which is very diverse both see white as cultureless. Perry shows
us how white students from both school describe the white culture. In the beginning of this article they

would describe the white American culture. Laurie didn t have an answer to this question her response

There is a historian name David Roediger who believes that the white culture doesn t exist, Perry
mentions in the article that she doesn t agree with David Roediger because white people do have a
culture just that it isn t visible (2001). Renato Rosaldo is an anthropologist who created a theory on
white anticulture Perry mentions, Rosaldo s argument suggests that, if at one time Western Europeans
had to define themselves as cultural to set themselves apart and superior to savages, today, with much
of the world civilized under Western domination, whites must claim a new and higher rung the post
cultural to maintain their privileged status post cultural means the invisibility of a culture meaning that
whites act as if they don t have a culture so they can be above everyone else (2001). Perry s method
was to see the role or just the diversity in schools and how it affects the identities of being white. That
is why Perry picked two different schools one school where its mainly only whites which is Valley
Groves High and the other school which is very diverse and just has many cultures which is Clavey
High School. Perry mentions how she also picked schools that where around the same area. Before
she picked Valley Groves High and Clavey High School she made some research on the schools and
just the areas around the schools. Clavey High School had a percentage of 12 whites in the school.
Valley Groves High had a percentage of 83 whites. Perry made

Changes In Pepe
Pepe, the nineteen year old protagonist in John Steinbeck s short story Flight , changes both physically
and mentally on many occasions during his journeys. He first changes, mostly mentally and less
physically, when he learns about his impending trip into Monterey from Mama. Later, Pepe drastically
changes physically, yet little mentally, upon his return from Monterey. Lastly during his journey into
the mountains, Pepe changes significantly both physically and mentally. The idea of manhood plays an
important part in this story since its role is central to Pepe s development. The oldest man in the
family, Pepe does not take his position seriously, but rather he acts childish and maintains a
materialistic view of the world. Before his adventure, Mama gives the first description of Pepe when
she calls him so lazy that she claims ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Speaking of mental change, Pepe s idea of what a man does and acts noticeably changes along his
adventures. Similar to his original mental attitude, which focused solely on material possessions, he
first believes that a man is defined by his possessions, his hat, handkerchief, horse and least of all
actions. Then, on his return from Monterey he tells Mama that the man said name to me [Pepe] that I
[Pepe] could not allow (135). Pepe s reasoning is that he is a man now, and so he must protect his
manhood violently when it is insulted. The last change in his definition of manhood occurs just before
Pepe dies, when he physically stands up and faces his death boldly and bravely. Commonly, people
today associate manhood with violence, strength, and possessions, just like Pepe does. This is not a
true representation of adulthood. As an adult, it is responsibility, sacrifice, and maturity that
differentiate a man from a boy. It is not how a person appears or acts, but rather their reasoning and
drive that define

In March 2003 the Porsche brand faced a challenge without precedent in 55 years. Since the e launch
of the Porsche 356 in 1948, the brand had stood for expensive, high performance sports cars.
Its designs, varying little over the decades, formed and then came to reflect the notion of a classic n

also a rebel s car; the car James Dean died in and that Tom Cruise ditched in the motion picture

Designed by Ferry s eldest son, the rear engine vehicle became a twentieth century design landmark.
In the 1970s, Porsche and Volkswagen collaborated on launching the 914. In 1972, Porsche became a

Porsche AG was nearly derailed by the U.S. stock market crash in 1987.

Narrative Writing Assignments Of Pretentious Middle School...
Hyperextended crabs. Pinwheel of death. Broken winged pterodactyl. Such terminology seems
befitting of comparisons found in the interpretive writing assignments of pretentious middle school
students in an introductory art class. At the very least, they certainly do not invoke the feelings
associated with rational conceptions of what they describe in reality: districts across ordinary towns in
the United States. More sensibly, one could delegate responsibility for these frighteningly amorphous
and visually unappealing figures to the contrived workings of legislatures, yet a certain degree of
accountability ought to be attributed to the currently flawed legal precedent for handling the
intricacies of one of America s most virulent issues. Furthermore, the issue runs much deeper than the
superficial concerns from, they are physically discernable warning signs of a startling trend that
regrettably stifles political discourse and obscures the legitimate appeals of constituents: the
prevalence of district gerrymandering.
Every decade, as per the Supreme Court s ruling in Reynolds v. Sims, U.S. Congressional districts
reevaluate the status quo situation of political district in regards to population, and redraw their
individual localities accordingly. In its intended form, this process bolsters the election process

Discourse Of Disability
Main Discourses:
One of the main discourses that faced Donald is Normality . Donald is seen normal in the eyes of his
partner and peers. They depend on him in solving their problems and asking for his opinion. However,
he was viewed as deviant in his parents and his employer s eyes. Foucault (1977) was interested in
how certain ways of seeing phenomena come to be reified as truth. Years later, Jorgenson Phillips
(2002) discussed that reality and truth are only accessible to us in sort of categories. The impact of that
on a disabled child can affect his identity and sense of self as mentioned in Michel Foucault s theory
of identity (Jorgenson Phillips, 2002; Foucault, 1977). Many arguments and studies mentioned that
disabled people are not struggling with their disability, but are struggling with who they are
(MacNaughton, 2003). For example, when Donald invited his boss to have dinner at his house, he
asked Isabella his partner to act normally and they had a big fight where Isabella told him, You do not
know who you are, you are trying to show people that you are as normal as them. (Lawrence et al.,
2005).
Another discourse is the equality and the inequality which relates to the social justice. After a long

  • 2. Why Did Italy Become A Member Of The Triple Entente In 1915 Italy and Austria engaged in a gruesome war in one of the most unique and challenging battlefields the tops of the Dolomite mountain range. The two countries were fighting to gain control of the Trentino and South Tyrol areas. Austria was allied with Germany, in an alliance called the Dual Alliance. Previously, Italy was also allied with these two countries, but when the Triple Alliance agreement ended just before WW1, Italy decided to remain neutral. Then, in 1915 Italy joined the Triple Entente which included England, France, and Russia, to fight against the Dual Alliance. One of the reasons why Italy became a member of the Triple Entente was because the Treaty of London, a secret pact between the Triple Entente and Italy, promised ... Returning Trentino to Italy became a common goal for citizens and also helped to give rise to the age of nationalism. Norberto Bobbio, an italian philosopher of political science and a historian, said the objectives of the great war were for the liberty of all, in fact the participation of Italy with the Triple Entente against the Duple Alliance wasn t seen as a new beginning of the Italian Empire but as the last war of the Risorgimento. . Every single different political group wanted Italy completely unified. Nationalism was fairly new in Italy because of it s just recent unification, but even though it was new, in the beginning of the 20th century the shipowners, farmers, and the blacksmiths all favoured the nationalists. In the 23rd of May, the day that Italy declared war against Austria, all the italians celebrated. Fighting Charges of Assimilation in Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun and The Cosby Show The critical reception of The Cosby Show, an enormously popular television sitcom in the 1980 s, roughly paralleled that of A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry s highly acclaimed play of the 1950 s. Both the television series and the play helped change the way Blacks are portrayed in the entertainment media. But despite being initially greeted with critical praise, both subsequently fell under heavy scrutiny by many critics for being too assimilationist. However, in both cases, the charges of assimilation may perhaps be too harsh. A Raisin in the Sun, a drama of a middle class family in Chicago, should not be regarded as a wholehearted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He longs for the socioeconomic advantages of the affluent people and assimilates to their ideas. As Darwin Turner explains, Walter typifies the upward moving American male. He honors ruthless capitalism (4). However, all of this is not to say that Hansberry s play condones or endorses this kind of attitude or ideal. Nor is it accurate to assume that the play is against such assimilationist goals. Instead, A Raisin in the Sun remains decidedly and deliberately ambiguous in any sort of moral judgment. The 1950 s was a decade in which black literature emphasized the issue of integration. Black writers also consciously stressed the similarities between Blacks and Whites. Hansberry believed that blacks and Whites had similar character traits and values, as A Raisin in the Sun demonstrates. However, Hansberry assumed a consciously ambivalent stance in regard to social integration (Turner, 4). The Youngers did not want to move into a white community merely out of a desire to live with whites. They moved out of a desire for freedom and opportunity rather than for social integration. But this motivation should not be construed as a desire to assimilate. Instead, it is a desire to achieve an ideal shared by all Americans. In this regard, A Raisin in the Sun is not a mere proponent of black assimilation the play deals realistically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Misguided Views In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary Selfishness and Misguided Views in Madame Bovary The majority of Gustave Flaubert s 1857 classic novel, Madame Bovary , tells of the marriage and two adulterous affairs of one lady, Madame Emma Bovary. Emma, believing she is in love, agrees to marry the widower doctor who heals her father s broken leg. This doctor, Charles Bovary, Jr., is completely in love with Emma. However, Emma finds she must have been mistaken in her love, for the happiness that should have followed this love (44) has not come. They had the complexion of wealth, that clear complexion that is heightened by the pallor of porcelain, the shimmer of satin . . . (66). This night helps Emma erase from her memory the fact that she is the daughter of a less than wealthy man; she now believes she is too grand to be of such breeding. Only a day after the ball, Emma is more unhappy than before, as she longs for the greatness that the wealthy possess. Madame Bovary denies herself happiness by refusing to enjoy her life with Charles, and wanting more for herself than what she has. Charles, though his practice is doing well, decides to move to Yonville. He wants only to please Emma, and feels the move will be beneficial to her health; she is pregnant. Emma s selfishness even prevents her from experiencing the happiness of motherhood. Charles considers the pregnancy another bond of the flesh establishing itself, and . . . a continued sentiment of a more complex union (115 and 116). Emma is at first astonished, and then eager to deliver, so she can experience motherhood. First, the source of the threat must control the outcome. Earl controls the outcome of the situation since he has the ability to either obey or disobey Dianne. Secondly, the threat must be seen as negative by the recipient. In this case, the recipient Dianne sees the condition of Earl s comment as negative since she will not get her way (Wilmot and Hocker, 159). On one hand, a good reason or a logic progress with facts makes a work more convincing; on the other hand, those fantacies and make ups show a writer s reflection on facts and reasons he or she received, and are extensions of those facts and reasons, rendering the work interesting and even more convincing. In three famous and classic works, On Liberty, Hard Times, and The Communist Manifesto, we can see how writers combine facts with fictions and compose excellent works. I. Here, Mill makes up a different outcome with the historical fact, that the noble emperor did not persecute Christianity but supported it. Undoubtly, Mill wants to demonstrate that Christianity could develop better under the support of Marcus Aurelius with his wisdom and virtue that nobody could reach. Again, Mill stresses his arguement here that we should be alert with the mistake that deny a hearing to opinions because we, in our judgement, have condemned them (On Liberty, John Stuart Mill, Page.25) so that we can make things better. In conclusion, Mill, from two aspects, fact and fiction, stresses his arguement and makes his arguements more convincing and impressive to readers. II. However, Atwood created a conflict within Grace on the subject of sexuality by having Grace extremely anti sexuality for woman. Countless times throughout the book she looked down on female sex workers and woman who had affairs and even rejected the advcances of men because she did not believe it was valid for a woman to want sexual liberation. Especially on the subject of sex wokrers, she judged men for going to them with the equivilant of a slap on the wrist where as if she had her way, she d kick every prostiutute by the booty out of her town. The Growing Importance Of Ethical Business Managers The Growing Importance of Ethical Business Managers Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) describe that the need for ethical business managers and practices has never been greater. Recent financial scandals have exposed issues in the management decision making process, suggesting a need to develop the necessary analytical and empathetic qualities so future corporate leaders may be moral managers (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). This recent pattern of business misconduct (Michaelson, 2015) and single minded pursuit of profit has made the promotion of ethical values a key concern for modern business organizations (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). This paper will discuss how literary fiction (i.e. novels, literature, narrative, fiction, drama, comics) can help organizations develop ethical managers by discussing (1) the growing importance of ethical business managers (2) the benefits of a novel approach to business ethics, and (3) the moral value of literary fiction to business. During the past few years, many companies have seen their reputations plummet in the wake of various corporate scandals (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). With this context of an amoral and inept set of global management practices, Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) propose the need for a new breed of manager, namely the moral manager. Women in Islam are; mothers, sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islam and their daily source of happiness. An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American woman. Though in the Islamic world, the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman may work to acquire money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help her husband support the family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice). There is a historian name David Roediger who believes that the white culture doesn t exist, Perry mentions in the article that she doesn t agree with David Roediger because white people do have a culture just that it isn t visible (2001). Renato Rosaldo is an anthropologist who created a theory on white anticulture Perry mentions, Rosaldo s argument suggests that, if at one time Western Europeans had to define themselves as cultural to set themselves apart and superior to savages, today, with much of the world civilized under Western domination, whites must claim a new and higher rung the post cultural to maintain their privileged status post cultural means the invisibility of a culture meaning that whites act as if they don t have a culture so they can be above everyone else (2001). Perry s method was to see the role or just the diversity in schools and how it affects the identities of being white. That is why Perry picked two different schools one school where its mainly only whites which is Valley Groves High and the other school which is very diverse and just has many cultures which is Clavey High School. Perry mentions how she also picked schools that where around the same area. Before she picked Valley Groves High and Clavey High School she made some research on the schools and just the areas around the schools. Clavey High School had a percentage of 12 whites in the school. Valley Groves High had a percentage of 83 whites. Perry made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Changes In Pepe Pepe, the nineteen year old protagonist in John Steinbeck s short story Flight , changes both physically and mentally on many occasions during his journeys. He first changes, mostly mentally and less physically, when he learns about his impending trip into Monterey from Mama. Later, Pepe drastically changes physically, yet little mentally, upon his return from Monterey. Lastly during his journey into the mountains, Pepe changes significantly both physically and mentally. The idea of manhood plays an important part in this story since its role is central to Pepe s development. The oldest man in the family, Pepe does not take his position seriously, but rather he acts childish and maintains a materialistic view of the world. Before his adventure, Mama gives the first description of Pepe when she calls him so lazy that she claims ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Speaking of mental change, Pepe s idea of what a man does and acts noticeably changes along his adventures. Similar to his original mental attitude, which focused solely on material possessions, he first believes that a man is defined by his possessions, his hat, handkerchief, horse and least of all actions. Then, on his return from Monterey he tells Mama that the man said name to me [Pepe] that I [Pepe] could not allow (135). Pepe s reasoning is that he is a man now, and so he must protect his manhood violently when it is insulted. The last change in his definition of manhood occurs just before Pepe dies, when he physically stands up and faces his death boldly and bravely. Commonly, people today associate manhood with violence, strength, and possessions, just like Pepe does. This is not a true representation of adulthood. As an adult, it is responsibility, sacrifice, and maturity that differentiate a man from a boy. It is not how a person appears or acts, but rather their reasoning and drive that define ... In 1964 came the iconic 911, also a racing car. Designed by Ferry s eldest son, the rear engine vehicle became a twentieth century design landmark. In the 1970s, Porsche and Volkswagen collaborated on launching the 914. In 1972, Porsche became a joint stock company (Porsche AG) with the Porsche and Piëch families on the board. Porsche AG was nearly derailed by the U.S. stock market crash in 1987. Sales volume collapsed from a peak of 50,000 cars in 1986 to 14,000 in 1993.2 At the time Ferry Porsche commented: I certainly have not given away my family name to sell off and cash out the company to the highest offer. This philosophy might hold true for Americans, but not for us. 3 tC In 1991, Porsche launched the first of several cars at price points lower than traditionally associated with the Porsche brand. The 911 RS America was a no frills version of the long running rear engine 911 model; priced at $54,000, it ran about $10,000 under traditional Porsche prices. • 34. Narrative Writing Assignments Of Pretentious Middle School... Hyperextended crabs. Pinwheel of death. Broken winged pterodactyl. Such terminology seems befitting of comparisons found in the interpretive writing assignments of pretentious middle school students in an introductory art class. At the very least, they certainly do not invoke the feelings associated with rational conceptions of what they describe in reality: districts across ordinary towns in the United States. More sensibly, one could delegate responsibility for these frighteningly amorphous and visually unappealing figures to the contrived workings of legislatures, yet a certain degree of accountability ought to be attributed to the currently flawed legal precedent for handling the intricacies of one of America s most virulent issues. Furthermore, the issue runs much deeper than the superficial concerns from, they are physically discernable warning signs of a startling trend that regrettably stifles political discourse and obscures the legitimate appeals of constituents: the prevalence of district gerrymandering. Every decade, as per the Supreme Court s ruling in Reynolds v. Sims, U.S. Congressional districts reevaluate the status quo situation of political district in regards to population, and redraw their individual localities accordingly. In its intended form, this process bolsters the election process through taking into consideration different migratory patterns that would perhaps misrepresent the geographical reality, ensuring that one man s vote in a congressional ... • 35. Discourse Of Disability Main Discourses: One of the main discourses that faced Donald is Normality . Donald is seen normal in the eyes of his partner and peers. They depend on him in solving their problems and asking for his opinion. However, he was viewed as deviant in his parents and his employer s eyes. Foucault (1977) was interested in how certain ways of seeing phenomena come to be reified as truth. Years later, Jorgenson Phillips (2002) discussed that reality and truth are only accessible to us in sort of categories. The impact of that on a disabled child can affect his identity and sense of self as mentioned in Michel Foucault s theory of identity (Jorgenson Phillips, 2002; Foucault, 1977). Many arguments and studies mentioned that disabled people are not struggling with their disability, but are struggling with who they are (MacNaughton, 2003). For example, when Donald invited his boss to have dinner at his house, he asked Isabella his partner to act normally and they had a big fight where Isabella told him, You do not know who you are, you are trying to show people that you are as normal as them. (Lawrence et al., 2005). Another discourse is the equality and the inequality which relates to the social justice. After a long journey of looking for a job that ...
