Aisha Fukushima Event Analysis
Event 1. When visiting Aisha Fukushima event on Story Telling it was very enjoyable. She mainly
talked about the importance of being expressive. She told us to live in the moment and it s important
to express our emotions. It made me think of Paul D Miller, which he talks about how artists express
their emotions by the music they create. From the event I understood that hip hop is very expressive
because there is no specific way to perform hip hop, but there are multiple different ways. Towards the
end Aisha told the audience that it s important to write because it releases emotions of a person. Event

Marcel Duchamp Fresh Widow Essay
Marcel Duchamp s Fresh Widow was created in 1920, and is on display at the Museum of Modern Art
(MoMA). Fresh Widow is a bluish green miniature French window, which he constructed with wood
and leather. The Fresh Widow is considered to be a part of the Dadaist period and retains qualities of
dadaism in that it is a stand alone object, that has been completely stripped of its utility and function.
In addition, across the window sill, Duchamp wrote COPYRIGHT in capitalized black letters referring
to the classic dadaist rejection of the commodification or reproduction of art. Duchamp created the
Fresh Widow two years after the end of World War I. World War I was traumatizing and horrific for
most of Europe, with millions of men being killed. The timing of Duchamp s Fresh Widow, the title,
as well as the form of his piece all work together to represent the losses felt by wives in France during
the war. The use of a French window that has been blacked out by black leather, as well as the bluish
green color of the wood is a reference to the macabre realities of war and the ... Show more content on

Following World War I, widows were abundant. Duchamp s piece illustrates the grief stricken
emotional and deadened vision widows had after the war when their wounds were ripe and unable to
be restrained. The widow is much like Duchamp s window impenetrable and unreadable. The viewer
cannot see the vision of the widow because the widow herself cannot she her own vision. Much like
the inability of the viewer to look through the glass, the widow cannot look to somewhere else, to a
different place. The viewer is left with an intimate bond with the widow, experiencing her inability to
create a vision but is also left at a distance from the widow because of the viewer s inability to read
her emotions and thought processes. The widow is draped in a veil of mourning and sadness much like
the window is covered by black

Bank Accounting Information System and Electronic Banking
Introduction Information technology has had as much impact on our society as the industrial
revolution. In the information age, companies are finding that success or failure is increasingly
dependent on their management and use of information. Therefore, companies need a good
information system that enabled an efficient and effective use of information to give them more
competitive advantage (Moscove, Simkin, Bagranoff, 1999).
An information system is a set of interrelated subsystems that work together to collect, process, store,
transform, and distribute information for planning, decisions making, and control. An information
system need not be a computerized system, but the use of computer in information systems can

Electronic technology spreads from this central point through the whole process of bank funds
transmissions, finally reaching outside the banks direct to retail customers and corporate treasuries.
Electronic banking started in the United States because the clearing arrangements between the large
numbers of geographically dispersed US banks was extremely inefficient. Corporate customer
pressure for improvements was becoming irresistible. In addition, the early availability of cheap
computing power encouraged pioneering work in the United States to achieve savings from more
efficient use of the banking system. The creative use of the emerging technology, which had been
developed for other purposes, and paid for by other industries research budgets, was fundamental to
the progress of electronic banking and the significant savings achieved thereby. The American banks
did not have it all their own way. The first ATMs in the world were introduced to the public in the
United Kingdom by Barclays Bank in 1969. Once customers became familiar with them, they spread
rapidly. By 1985, 160,000 units were run by banks worldwide, with about 9,000 in the United
Kingdom (Deakin, Goddard Welch, 1999).
By 1990, the pace of change had started to accelerate – electronic banking had become the norm in
corporate treasuries with electronic links between balance reporting systems and second generation
treasury management system or spreadsheets and from treasury systems to

Official Language In The United States
According to urban legends, German was almost the official language of the United States (Sick,
Bastian). In the myth, a group of Germans living in the United States got a petition for German to be
the official language of the United States to Congress in 1794. By one vote, it didn t pass. As you can
see, having an official language in the USA was a topic of debate ever since the founding fathers were
alive ( National American? ). Having a national language would mean all official government business
is conducted in English ( Official English ). I believe that the USA shouldn t have an official language
since it goes against freedom of speech, it would be racist, and it wouldn t help unite the country.
The first reason for that is that it would go against freedom of speech. If you were the president, you
wouldn t be able to give speeches and talk about anything in any language other than English. If you
wanted to create laws in a state like Hawaii in the official language, you wouldn t be able to because
the official language in Hawaii is Hawaiian ( Hawaiian Language Basics ). This goes against freedom
of speech because you wouldn t be allowed to speak however you want to without interference from
the government ( What Does Free Speech Mean? ). If having your freedom of speech right comes into
play if you need to make a cake, then having the right to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Evolution Should Not Be Taught In Schools Essay
The theory of evolution was created by Charles Darwin. It is the theory that everything was made by
the Big Bang and so, life began. From there, life began to evolve. Charles Darwin also believes that
we humans evolved from homo sapiens, which are apes. Intelligent design and creationism are the
opposite of the theory of evolution. They are the theory that life and everything along with it, was
created by a higher intelligence(Intelligent Design Network). Half of all Americans believe in
creationism, but U.S courts still rule against teaching creationism in school(Adler). How is that fair if
Darwinians are allowed to teach the theory of evolution in school? It goes against many religions and
should not be allowed to be taught at schools, just as creationism is not allowed to be taught at
schools. The theory of evolution should not be taught at public schools because it is a matter of

Since so many Americans believe that the theory of evolution does not explain why humans are the
way they are, why teach it to our children? It doesn t even make sense! The theory of evolution goes
against many religions as well, like Christianity for example. We should be allowed to vote for what
they teach children in schools. How would you like it if the government decides what your children
are learning and you don t get a say in it? Especially if it goes against your beliefs. Some say that
science fails to view the true nature of the world when it declines to accept anything other than
material evidence. Evolution is the same, it only wants to accept material evidence. Evolution is like a
book that has some errors. How can it turn into a different story with only those errors? Who would

Minecraft Creative Writing
I m home! I yelled as I opened the faded red front door. No reply, maybe nobody was home. That s
strange, mom was always home to nag at me right when I got home from school. I guess it s my lucky

Pilots to Minecraft cluttered the walls. Not an inch of dark blue paint was showing. Ah, Minecraft...
the only way to skip your real life problems and enter an entire world of new problems. I tossed my
book bag to the side of my desk where my glorious MacBook Pro sat along with all my other crap I

should be doing my homework right now, I thought as I logged into Minecraft. But that wasn t going
to happen. One left click and in two short seconds I would be in my most successful world, Survival 1.
But something strange happened when I pressed the mouse. I felt as if I had been ripped into pieces,
but it wasn t entirely of that nature. I felt as if my body and soul was being split into two. Then I

Why Is Whitney Houston A Tragic Hero
A tragic hero is an influential character who experienced a privileged life, partook in a rise to fame or
fortune, then declined due to a flaw in personality or life decision. Whitney Houston was a one of a
kind singer who stole hearts across America. She is a perfect example of a tragic hero, due to her
amazing vocal talent, influential role in teaching America that everyone has flaws and embracing
individuality is the key to success, and her ultimate decline in health and fame due to alcoholism, drug
abuse, and poor marital decisions. Whitney Houston grew up in humble beginnings, with fame on her

Conquest Of Australia
Since the age of long established kingdoms, the strong communities would conquer weaker nations
and rule over them with an iron fist. The conquerors would often suppress the original inhabitants of
the land, by forcing them into slavery, harsh treatment and even, taking of children and young girls for
pleasure. The conquered residents would live in fear, oppression, and ill treatment in their ancestral
land. The modern era, brought about a different mode of the conquering of kingdoms, with the same
devastating effects of inhumane treatment and suffering of the indigenous persons. Accordingly, over
90% of the global nations are victims of the colonization, and likewise, Australia did not escape the
domination. The conquest of Australia brought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The role of engineers is to improve the quality of the lives of the people, by the formulation of
technical solutions to issues facing the society. Although the prevalence of the engineering works with
physical artifacts, the majority of the work lies within the intellectual domain. Further, engineers offer
technical possibilities, which work to optimize the social, environmental consequences and
opportunities to the society. The hallmark of a professional engineer is to apply and make informed,
sustainable and responsible decisions. Engineers ought to uphold and own the impositions and the
consequences within considerable ethical limits of the possibilities produced. Therefore, prerequisite
understanding of what the community has encountered in the past and continued to endure formulates
the basics within which an individual should approach particular instances. The history of the
treatment of aboriginals in Australia expresses the rationale and the manner in which an engineer
should interact and make decisions about the indigenous people. Engineers should have the ability to
discern the particular setting of the people, before the imposition of ideas and proposals to the local
communities, and principally, the aboriginals. Engineers ought to understand the implications of their
actions and impactions, as well as aim to rectify the problems and issues. Engineers should build on
their critical competencies of comprehension, conceptually based understanding, and discernment as
well as knowledge. The vital skills of engineers often allude to the theoretical knowledge on how
engineers ought to conduct the affairs. However, engineers should have the ability to understand the
social settings about the issues which people have faced, and may continue to impact in the

Research Paper On Baldness
Baldness is a common occurrence among men. It is typically regarded as something normal and not
indicative of any kind of health condition, although it may cause psychological distress in the affected.
However, scientists have discovered positive correlations between baldness and several pathologies.
Male pattern hair loss, as it is formally known in the medical realm, affects at least 50% of men in old
age. Its causes are believed to be largely genetic. Recent studies have finally shed some light on the
genetic underpinnings of the condition, revealing several complex relationships with other diseases
and innate traits.
Shortness and baldness
According to scientists at the University of Bonn, Germany, short men are more likely to experience
hair loss prematurely. They studied the genetic material of more than 20,000 men from around the
world. Slightly less than half were bald men. After analyzing the data, the team of scientists led by
geneticists Dr. Stephanie Heilmann Heimbach and Prof. Markus Nöthen discovered that prematurely
bald men carried 60 genomic alterations. These genetic signatures meant that prematurely bald males
are more likely to undergo puberty earlier, to have small body size, and to develop several types of
cancer (including prostate cancer). Associations between bone density and light skin color were also
found. The study now published in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

genetic factors. 287 genetic regions were identified, and, surprisingly, many of them derived from the
X chromosome, which is inherited from the mother. Scientists expressed that one of the long term
implications of this research is the creation of a genetic tool that helps predict hair loss patterns in the
future. The study was published in the PLOS Genetics

Cross Sectional Study Essay
Cross Sectional Study Article Review Biostatics is the essential to all functions of public health.
Biostatistics interprets the distribution and variation of the data to obtain reliable results and valid
conclusions. In Biostatics there are two types of studies that can be done, observational and
experimental. One type of observational study is a cross sectional study. Cross sectionals surveys are
observational studies conducted at a point in time. A cross sectional study entails measuring different
variables in a target population at a single point in time (Chamberlain, 2018). The article Over
indebtedness as a marker of socioeconomic status and its association with obesity: a cross sectional
study gives us an understanding of a study desgin.
Why Cross Sectional Study There are various reasons why this is a cross sectional study. To begin
with, in this cross sectional study they are studying a target population during a certain time and the
various variables among the target population that have led to their disease state. Data are collected on
the whole study population to examine the relationship between disease (or other health related state)
and other variables of interest. Cross sectional studies therefore provide a snapshot of the frequency of

Farming In Ancient Greece
Farm land was used mostly for livestock due to the land being so rocky.
Most farms were small with four or five acres of land. Farmers grew enough food to support their
families and, at times, they grew a small surplus to sell at the local market. Farmers were under alot of
pressure to produce food for Greece.
I feel farming was hard due to the limited land that can be used as cropland. The use of irrigation was
an important invention and the loss of fertile soil was bad for all crop farmers. Farming was hard due
to the limited amount of land that was farmable
Even though land was scarce they still grew a variety of crops. Barley was the main cereal crop for the
ancient Greek farmers. They made the barley into porridge or ground it into flour to make bread. Olive
oil was used for cooking oil or in oil lamps. Grapes were primarily used for wine production, although
they could be eaten or dried into raisins. ( Farming in Ancient Greece. Farming in Ancient Greece.

The Discovery Of The Praeneste Fibula
Fibula Praeneste
The Praeneste fibula has been the center of controversy amongst scholars since it s initial presentation
of discovery on January 7, 1887. There have been debates over the authenticity of the inscription
ranging from the unique language and grammatical features to undetermined discovery site. The
artifact has been estimated to origin from around the 7th century B.C., but there are scholars who
argue the artifact is a forgery dating from the 19th century. The inscription uses lettering that
resembled early Etruscan and Greek inscription from around 7th century B.C. The Praeneste fibula is
an early indication that other Italian languages influence on Latin in a frontier city such as the early
Praeneste. In more recent years, scholars have used a new scientific method to perform an in depth
examination of the inscription to determine the origin date. The results have determined that the
Praeneste fibula is in fact authentic and dates to 7th century, which is well before the believed forgery
was produced. To understand the controversy that has plagued the Praeneste fibula, one must look into
the details of the artifact and unique features of the inscription. The Praeneste fibula is a gold brooch,
which was reportedly found at Praeneste in 1871. Either men or women could have used the fibula as
a means of holding together clothing garments. The artifact was alone, but is assumed by scholars to
be a part of an entire outfit because of the valuable nature.

Zopiclone Is A Drug First Developed By Rhone Poulenc Rore
Zopiclone is a cyclopyrrolone drug first developed by Rhône Poulenc Rore (1, page 220) in the early
1970s (2). It is classified as a GABAA receptor agonist, and is a central nervous system depressant.
Zopiclone binds onto subunits on the GABAA receptor and modulates the opening of the chloride ion
channels in the neuron cell membrane (3, page 1). By increasing the conductance of chloride ions and
hyperpolarizing the neuron, the frequency of action potentials is reduced. This causes an inhibition of
brain activity, causing zopiclone to have hypnotic, sedative, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, and
anticonvulsant effects (4).
Zopiclone acts much in the same way as benzodiazepines when used to treat insomnia, but was
believed to have less adverse effects, and less potential for developing tolerance and addiction. As a
result, it was first marketed as a better alternative to benzodiazepines. However, recent studies have
revealed that it is unclear whether zopiclone shows improvements over benzodiazepines when
assessed on therapeutic qualities and addiction potential (5, page 1). As a result, both zopiclone and
benzodiazepines are included in schedule IV of the United States Controlled Substances Act (6).
Zopiclone is known by several brand names, such as Imovane, Zimovane and Zimoclone (7). It is used
to treat insomnia in adults arising from increased sleep latency, frequent awakenings during in the
night, and premature awakening (3, page 1). Zopiclone alleviates the symptoms of

Herbert Hoover Contributions
Herbert Hoover is a debated figure in United States history. Hoover is often remembered only for his
unpopular presidency during the Great Depression. (Winkler, 21) Although this negative stigma haunts
his legacy, Herbert Hoover was a kind, tenderhearted and generous man who did much good in his life
before, during, and after his presidency. One of Hoover s greatest endeavors was his generosity and
effort in behalf of the Belgian Relief program. The article highlights this event. Herbert Hoover was
raised as a member of The Quakers . This faith, instilled in him by his parents, helped mold Herbert
into the morally straight man he eventually became. His father died from a heart ailment when Herbert
was only six years old. Herbert therefore remembers his mother as the more prominent of the two
parents. His mother s name was Hulda Hoover. Hulda Hoover was quite accomplished and was
something of a free spirit. (Winkler, 23) She regularly spoke at the Quaker meetings, something
women did not have any place doing in the eyes of most folks of the time. Doing this portrayed her
belief in women s rights, for which she devoted much of her life to fighting for. Although Hulda died
early leaving Herbert an orphan at only nine, there is no doubt that her example and teachings were
seen and followed by her son.
Herbert then went to live with his aunt and uncle until he enrolled at Stanford University, graduating
with a degree in geology and meeting his future wife, Lou Henry. Hard

This novel revolves around fraternal twins Noah and Jude, who used to be basically inseparable. Now
that they re getting older, they begin to drift apart. The reasons I d save this novel from the firemen are
that it deals with very real things for teenagers and kids such as puberty, sexuality, deaths in the
family, and divorce. It teaches readers that you should never be afraid of being who you truly are, that
if things are tough right now then they will get better with time, and that your family will almost
always be there for you when you re going through something. It focuses on the mannerisms of
teenagers who are just being themselves, who are only human, and are still trying to find themselves. I
feel that this novel would help teens grow and help find themselves and develop, just like Noah and

Genesis speaks of beginnings, of the heavens and the earth, animals, humans, plants, family, society

The Health Financing Mechanisms Of Four High Income...
Introduction Around the world, high income countries struggle making a decision on whether health
care is an essential coverage or an optional coverage. If one has the right to health, then should it be
mandatory for all governments to provide the health care coverage one needs? This is a common
question in governments around the world and most high income countries do aim to offer universal
coverage. Universal health coverage is defined as the goal that all people obtain the good quality
essential health services, including promotion, prevention treatment, rehabilitation, and palliation, that
they need without enduring financial hardship (1). However, there are several steps and obstacles a
government must face before being able to achieve the ultimate goal of universal health coverage.
This paper investigates the health financing mechanisms of four high income countries (United States,
Australia, United Kingdom, and Japan), which are all at different stages of this process. Although they
all aim to ultimately provide reliable, affordable, and comprehensive coverage to all individuals, these
countries face similar obstacles in establishing successful public health financing. The United States
finances health with a mix of public and private financing, mainly private. Australia finances health
with mainly tax financed systems and has a relatively high private share. On the other hand, the
United Kingdom finances health with mainly tax financed systems and has a

followed. One has to follow successfully aself planned diet, especially when there is a drastic change
from unhealthy foods to healthy foods. Additionally, living in a home where others are not on a diet
can be challenging. Eating with the familywhen only one individual on a diet is a challenge to one s
will power. I can say for myself that my will power is average. Itis hard sometimes when my husband
is eating a steak dinner or fried spicy hot chicken, my favorite. I will give in at times. There were
situations where I completely gave in, but as I continue to educate myself, I have come to realize that
sometimes cheating is not worth because it eventually catches up to one s health in a not so good way.
My approach to avoid having to deal with giving into temptation is to eat before the rest of the family
doesor to eat before I leave work. That way I am not eating late nor will I be hungry by the time I
come home. Another challenge I may come across is if the Multiple Sclerosis becomes aggressivein
my later years where a work out regimen may not be an option. Therapy and medication would have
to be the option to handle the condition if it worsens. Depending on how bad the condition is, I may be
able to incorporate some kind of exercise whether it is just walking or picking up some weights. At
least there will be some kind of physical activity.

The Problem Of Drug Use And Trafficking
Lil Draggin
(An essay on the problem of drug use and trafficking and the multiple possibilities of solving this
issue)
It has come to my attention that a certain issue needs to be addressed and if this issue continues to
grow then this town could see some serious changes and people could find themselves in serious
dilemmas. The issue I am addressing is drug use and trafficking that has been known of for many
years. Due to the fact that the least bit of attention has been brought upon drug trafficking it has begun
to grow and create a larger issue than some can even begin to imagine. Illicit drug trade according to
the world UN Drug Report is one of the largest global businesses, at some $322 billion (Shah,2008).
Now in a sense it might be a risky business to get into, but that is fast cash and might I say a good
amount as well. Now this isn t the only issue I will bring up when you notice that the attention is not
given to this issue drugs can be in high demand and because no one has done much to barricade these
drugs it is extremely easy to obtain these drugs. My solution for this problem comes in three s as a
nation we should not make any drug legal, create effective crime policies, and reducing demand. The
first way we will decrease the drug trade is by not making any drug legal to any civilian of this
country. Drug legalization increasingly merits serious consideration as both an analytical model and a
policy option for addressing the drug problem.

The Cost of Computer Literacy
What are the costs of computer literacy? Some people argue that there are no such costs, but I believe
there are a few which may be relevant. Does computer literacy affect the way we communicate, and if
so, is this necessarily a bad thing? What is our future, as computer literacy becomes a necessity? What
are the personal, financial, and social costs, as computer literacy becomes a necessity? br br According
to Webster s New World dictionary, literacy is defined as the ability to read and write. There is
definitely more than one interpretation of the word literacy as we have seen in class discussions and
from reading many essays on the subject. The world has grown beyond the understanding of literacy
as the ability to read and write we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Take a look at the way we now communicate with our co workers. We are merely feet from each other
in the office, yet we no longer stand up and walk over to talk with someone face to face. Why? Is it
easier to send them e mail and await a response? We lose many forms of communication this way. We
don t get that one on one interaction with each other, we can t see gestures and body language, and this
may even be ground for miscommunication. To me it often seems that we can put aside many of the
things that we would not be able to if there was some type of face to face meeting. We can say that we
haven t received that mail, or that we haven t checked our mail yet. Computers are making
communicating easier, but are they making it more effective? br br Is there a cost to the technician
working with no personal contact? Instead of calling on the phone to report a computer problem, there
has been the advent of the e form. This is yet another alternative to the phone call or talking with
someone. The e form is comprised of a template with data fields that give all the relevant information
an administrator or technician would need to come and fix a problem or answer a question. This is a
wonderful idea for 3 reasons: (1) You no longer need someone to answer a phone, (2) No lost
information between the caller and the technician, and (3) you have the ability to log it in a database to
keep track of problems which also allows you to analyze the data to prevent

The 1950 s Cartoon Version Of A Cinderella Story
Everyone has surely heard of some version of a Cinderella story. These stories may be somewhat
different, but overall, all of these stories tend to share certain themes. The themes are shared whether it
be the 1950 s cartoon version of Cinderella or one of the modern movies that shows a Cinderella story.
,A few of the main themes that are shared are love, good versus evil, and wealth. These themes are
present in all of the Cinderella stories and through these stories, the themes also show reality by
creating noticeable similarities in real life through the stories. The themes of love, good versus evil,
and wealth are exactly what they sound like. The theme, love, shows how one falls in love within the
story and that person being Cinderella ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wealth is also a main theme in Cinderella stories; it shows how people do crazy things in order to
have money, nice things, and to be superficial. Most of the women at the ball are mainly there to
marry a Prince most likely so that they may become wealthy and have everything that they have ever
wanted in life. Sometimes this is similar in real life seeing as to how some women try to find rich men
and to marry them by love, but in actuality all they are after are the man s money. It shows also how
people do crazy things for wealth by how the step mother and step sisters react to sensing that
Cinderella would end up with the Prince. They tried to hurt her, physically, emotionally, and mentally.
They also lied and tried to trick people and it just goes to show how money changes people. In real
life, this theme compares to how wealth corrupts people; showing how with the more money people
receive, they usually become even more selfish, and continue to want more and more wealth. It shows
the superficial side of wealth as well seeing as to how within the Cinderella stories show how fake the
step sisters become when trying to manipulate the Prince. They are truly evil, yet make their selves
appear as nice just in order to receive what they want, which is wealth. This is also prevalent in today
s society, because everyday people can fake a smile, look fake, and completely change everything

Teen Pregnancy And Teenage Pregnancy
Teen pregnancy is something that affects over one million young teens in the United States. For some,
these pregnancies are planned but 85% of these teens the pregnancy is unplanned. This can cause a lot
of endless problems in the life of the teen and the newborn child. There are a lot of things that can
cause an unplanned teen pregnancy, such as teens experimenting with sexual encounters at a young
age. Another major cause is the lack of guidance due to guardians that are blind or do not want to
believe in such activities. These causes can have devastating effects on the teen and the newborn in the
household. Some effects of early pregnancy will include an unexpected rise of responsibility for the
teen and can cause many health concerns for both teen and newborn child.
Teens experimenting are the leading cause in the unplanned pregnancies. As a teenager in high school
ages there are a lot of peer pressures. Such as experimenting with alcohol and unprotected sexual
intercourse. Drinking and the use of narcotics also largely have an impact on the judgment of the teen
before the pre pregnancy comes about. Experimenting can cause many effects on the teen and the
relationships at hand, including the relationships with the baby s mom or dad and also the parents of
the teens. Another way of experimenting is the pregnancy caused in the sequel of either a long time
dating of the boyfriend or the other case of those random one night stands or hook ups. Experimenting

refuses. Then the other defendant, Grace, who is represented by Cheeseman, wants to talk. They offer
the 8 million dollars that it would take to give everyone a slice of pizza and cover expenses, but Jan

Circuit Switching Essay
1.a) The Circuit switched network has its advantages that would be more appropriate to use in this
situation. Circuit switching allows the use of a Transmission link to be pre determined. this would
allow the long session to be reserved as opposed to packet switching which does not reserve resources
which can result in waiting for access for a communication link. Packet switching also takes apart the
packets one by one which would take more time to arrive at its destination as unforeseen delays may
occur. 1.b) In the worst case, all the applications simultaneously transmit over one or more network
links. However, since each link has sufficient bandwidth to handle the sum of all of the applications
data rates, no congestion (very little queuing) will occur. Given such generous link capacities, the ...

How To Make Attractive Halloween Ghosts
Make Attractive Halloween Ghosts and Pumpkin Using Foam Boards
Straddling the line between fall and winter, life and death, copiously and scarcity, Halloween is a time
of festivity and superstition. It is believed to have instigated with the ancient Celtic Samhain festival,
when people would wear costumes and light bonfires to distinct the roaming ghosts. This festival is
celebrated to honor all saints and martyrs. Also, it indicates the end of the harvest season and the
beginning of winter. Today, Halloween has become more about costumes and candy, and less about
literal ghosts. Children and adults enjoy this day of happiness by wearing costumes, participating in

Using Islamic Banks, Commercial Banks And Dual Banks

Personal Response on the On the Rainy River
ELA 30 1: Personal Essay
October 16, 2012
Gaddiel O. Matira
Is it fair to hold individuals responsible for a choice society pressured them to make?
Canada might have been one of the best places in the world but for me and Tim, Canada is a lot more
than that. For Tim O Brien s On the Rainy River , Canada is freedom: freedom from the draft letter
that pressures him to go to war, freedom from the war that he never understood and always hated,
freedom from the dirt, tent, and mosquitoes, freedom from that dense greasy pig stink and blood clots
in the slaughterhouse, freedom from his country, and freedom from his conscience... or is it? On the
other hand, for me, Canada is separation: separation from the friends and family who I most ... Show

The same society that built the morals and beliefs and principles he has in him had then become the
same society that crippled him to make the choice of leaving all those behind as he stated, And what
was so sad, I realized, was that Canada had become a pitiful fantasy. Silly and hopeless. It was no
longer a possibility. Right then, with the shore so close, I understood that I would not do what I should
do. (55)
In the stories Tim O Brien and I shared, there is this one little detail in common, we both made a
choice. At first, the decision of moving to Canada felt like a selfish decision I was forced to make only
for the family s sake. Actually, I even held them responsible for my misery for a couple of weeks. But
as those weeks and months pass by, I came to realize that such choice was actually one of the greatest
things that can happen to me, for it was more than just an opportunity for our family to be whole but a
breakthrough to endless possibilities towards reaching my dreams. However, for Tim, without any

  • 2. Aisha Fukushima Event Analysis Event 1. When visiting Aisha Fukushima event on Story Telling it was very enjoyable. She mainly talked about the importance of being expressive. She told us to live in the moment and it s important to express our emotions. It made me think of Paul D Miller, which he talks about how artists express their emotions by the music they create. From the event I understood that hip hop is very expressive because there is no specific way to perform hip hop, but there are multiple different ways. Towards the end Aisha told the audience that it s important to write because it releases emotions of a person. Event 2. • 3. Marcel Duchamp Fresh Widow Essay Marcel Duchamp s Fresh Widow was created in 1920, and is on display at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Fresh Widow is a bluish green miniature French window, which he constructed with wood and leather. The Fresh Widow is considered to be a part of the Dadaist period and retains qualities of dadaism in that it is a stand alone object, that has been completely stripped of its utility and function. In addition, across the window sill, Duchamp wrote COPYRIGHT in capitalized black letters referring to the classic dadaist rejection of the commodification or reproduction of art. Duchamp created the Fresh Widow two years after the end of World War I. World War I was traumatizing and horrific for most of Europe, with millions of men being killed. The timing of Duchamp s Fresh Widow, the title, as well as the form of his piece all work together to represent the losses felt by wives in France during the war. The use of a French window that has been blacked out by black leather, as well as the bluish green color of the wood is a reference to the macabre realities of war and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following World War I, widows were abundant. Duchamp s piece illustrates the grief stricken emotional and deadened vision widows had after the war when their wounds were ripe and unable to be restrained. The widow is much like Duchamp s window impenetrable and unreadable. The viewer cannot see the vision of the widow because the widow herself cannot she her own vision. Much like the inability of the viewer to look through the glass, the widow cannot look to somewhere else, to a different place. The viewer is left with an intimate bond with the widow, experiencing her inability to create a vision but is also left at a distance from the widow because of the viewer s inability to read her emotions and thought processes. The widow is draped in a veil of mourning and sadness much like the window is covered by black ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Bank Accounting Information System and Electronic Banking Introduction Information technology has had as much impact on our society as the industrial revolution. In the information age, companies are finding that success or failure is increasingly dependent on their management and use of information. Therefore, companies need a good information system that enabled an efficient and effective use of information to give them more competitive advantage (Moscove, Simkin, Bagranoff, 1999). An information system is a set of interrelated subsystems that work together to collect, process, store, transform, and distribute information for planning, decisions making, and control. An information system need not be a computerized system, but the use of computer in information systems can improve the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Electronic technology spreads from this central point through the whole process of bank funds transmissions, finally reaching outside the banks direct to retail customers and corporate treasuries. Electronic banking started in the United States because the clearing arrangements between the large numbers of geographically dispersed US banks was extremely inefficient. Corporate customer pressure for improvements was becoming irresistible. In addition, the early availability of cheap computing power encouraged pioneering work in the United States to achieve savings from more efficient use of the banking system. The creative use of the emerging technology, which had been developed for other purposes, and paid for by other industries research budgets, was fundamental to the progress of electronic banking and the significant savings achieved thereby. The American banks did not have it all their own way. The first ATMs in the world were introduced to the public in the United Kingdom by Barclays Bank in 1969. Once customers became familiar with them, they spread rapidly. By 1985, 160,000 units were run by banks worldwide, with about 9,000 in the United Kingdom (Deakin, Goddard Welch, 1999). By 1990, the pace of change had started to accelerate – electronic banking had become the norm in corporate treasuries with electronic links between balance reporting systems and second generation treasury management system or spreadsheets and from treasury systems to ... • 5. Official Language In The United States According to urban legends, German was almost the official language of the United States (Sick, Bastian). In the myth, a group of Germans living in the United States got a petition for German to be the official language of the United States to Congress in 1794. By one vote, it didn t pass. As you can see, having an official language in the USA was a topic of debate ever since the founding fathers were alive ( National American? ). Having a national language would mean all official government business is conducted in English ( Official English ). I believe that the USA shouldn t have an official language since it goes against freedom of speech, it would be racist, and it wouldn t help unite the country. The first reason for that is that it would go against freedom of speech. If you were the president, you wouldn t be able to give speeches and talk about anything in any language other than English. If you wanted to create laws in a state like Hawaii in the official language, you wouldn t be able to because the official language in Hawaii is Hawaiian ( Hawaiian Language Basics ). This goes against freedom of speech because you wouldn t be allowed to speak however you want to without interference from the government ( What Does Free Speech Mean? ). If having your freedom of speech right comes into play if you need to make a cake, then having the right to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Immigrants to the USA mostly aren t white. If one of those immigrants wanted to get involved with government, or at least learn the laws from the source, they wouldn t be able to access the documents in their own language. • 6. Evolution Should Not Be Taught In Schools Essay The theory of evolution was created by Charles Darwin. It is the theory that everything was made by the Big Bang and so, life began. From there, life began to evolve. Charles Darwin also believes that we humans evolved from homo sapiens, which are apes. Intelligent design and creationism are the opposite of the theory of evolution. They are the theory that life and everything along with it, was created by a higher intelligence(Intelligent Design Network). Half of all Americans believe in creationism, but U.S courts still rule against teaching creationism in school(Adler). How is that fair if Darwinians are allowed to teach the theory of evolution in school? It goes against many religions and should not be allowed to be taught at schools, just as creationism is not allowed to be taught at schools. The theory of evolution should not be taught at public schools because it is a matter of religion, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since so many Americans believe that the theory of evolution does not explain why humans are the way they are, why teach it to our children? It doesn t even make sense! The theory of evolution goes against many religions as well, like Christianity for example. We should be allowed to vote for what they teach children in schools. How would you like it if the government decides what your children are learning and you don t get a say in it? Especially if it goes against your beliefs. Some say that science fails to view the true nature of the world when it declines to accept anything other than material evidence. Evolution is the same, it only wants to accept material evidence. Evolution is like a book that has some errors. How can it turn into a different story with only those errors? Who would believe that old books with typos in them create new books (Vedantam)? That s strange, mom was always home to nag at me right when I got home from school. I guess it s my lucky day. I ran up the stairs and took the first right turn to my room. Posters of everything from Twenty One Pilots to Minecraft cluttered the walls. Not an inch of dark blue paint was showing. Ah, Minecraft... the only way to skip your real life problems and enter an entire world of new problems. I tossed my book bag to the side of my desk where my glorious MacBook Pro sat along with all my other crap I have yet to look through or throw out. I took out my headset and plugged it into the jack. I really should be doing my homework right now, I thought as I logged into Minecraft. But that wasn t going to happen. One left click and in two short seconds I would be in my most successful world, Survival 1. But something strange happened when I pressed the mouse. Whitney Houston was a one of a kind singer who stole hearts across America. She is a perfect example of a tragic hero, due to her amazing vocal talent, influential role in teaching America that everyone has flaws and embracing individuality is the key to success, and her ultimate decline in health and fame due to alcoholism, drug abuse, and poor marital decisions. • 10. Conquest Of Australia Since the age of long established kingdoms, the strong communities would conquer weaker nations and rule over them with an iron fist. The conquerors would often suppress the original inhabitants of the land, by forcing them into slavery, harsh treatment and even, taking of children and young girls for pleasure. The conquered residents would live in fear, oppression, and ill treatment in their ancestral land. The modern era, brought about a different mode of the conquering of kingdoms, with the same devastating effects of inhumane treatment and suffering of the indigenous persons. Accordingly, over 90% of the global nations are victims of the colonization, and likewise, Australia did not escape the domination. The conquest of Australia brought ... Although the prevalence of the engineering works with physical artifacts, the majority of the work lies within the intellectual domain. Further, engineers offer technical possibilities, which work to optimize the social, environmental consequences and opportunities to the society. The hallmark of a professional engineer is to apply and make informed, sustainable and responsible decisions. Engineers ought to uphold and own the impositions and the consequences within considerable ethical limits of the possibilities produced. Therefore, prerequisite understanding of what the community has encountered in the past and continued to endure formulates the basics within which an individual should approach particular instances. The history of the treatment of aboriginals in Australia expresses the rationale and the manner in which an engineer should interact and make decisions about the indigenous people. Engineers should have the ability to discern the particular setting of the people, before the imposition of ideas and proposals to the local communities, and principally, the aboriginals. Engineers ought to understand the implications of their actions and impactions, as well as aim to rectify the problems and issues. Engineers should build on their critical competencies of comprehension, conceptually based understanding, and discernment as well as knowledge. • 11. Research Paper On Baldness Baldness is a common occurrence among men. It is typically regarded as something normal and not indicative of any kind of health condition, although it may cause psychological distress in the affected. However, scientists have discovered positive correlations between baldness and several pathologies. Male pattern hair loss, as it is formally known in the medical realm, affects at least 50% of men in old age. Its causes are believed to be largely genetic. Recent studies have finally shed some light on the genetic underpinnings of the condition, revealing several complex relationships with other diseases and innate traits. Shortness and baldness According to scientists at the University of Bonn, Germany, short men are more likely to experience hair loss prematurely. They studied the genetic material of more than 20,000 men from around the world. Slightly less than half were bald men. After analyzing the data, the team of scientists led by geneticists Dr. Stephanie Heilmann Heimbach and Prof. Markus Nöthen discovered that prematurely bald men carried 60 genomic alterations. These genetic signatures meant that prematurely bald males are more likely to undergo puberty earlier, to have small body size, and to develop several types of cancer (including prostate cancer). Associations between bone density and light skin color were also found. The study now published in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The objective of this research effort was to help scientists see how and why hair loss arises from genetic factors. 287 genetic regions were identified, and, surprisingly, many of them derived from the X chromosome, which is inherited from the mother. • 12. Cross Sectional Study Essay Cross Sectional Study Article Review Biostatics is the essential to all functions of public health. Biostatistics interprets the distribution and variation of the data to obtain reliable results and valid conclusions. In Biostatics there are two types of studies that can be done, observational and experimental. One type of observational study is a cross sectional study. Cross sectionals surveys are observational studies conducted at a point in time. A cross sectional study entails measuring different variables in a target population at a single point in time (Chamberlain, 2018). Why Cross Sectional Study There are various reasons why this is a cross sectional study. To begin with, in this cross sectional study they are studying a target population during a certain time and the various variables among the target population that have led to their disease state. Data are collected on the whole study population to examine the relationship between disease (or other health related state) and other variables of interest. Farmers grew enough food to support their families and, at times, they grew a small surplus to sell at the local market. Farmers were under alot of pressure to produce food for Greece. I feel farming was hard due to the limited land that can be used as cropland. The use of irrigation was an important invention and the loss of fertile soil was bad for all crop farmers. • 14. The Discovery Of The Praeneste Fibula Fibula Praeneste The Praeneste fibula has been the center of controversy amongst scholars since it s initial presentation of discovery on January 7, 1887. There have been debates over the authenticity of the inscription ranging from the unique language and grammatical features to undetermined discovery site. The artifact has been estimated to origin from around the 7th century B.C., but there are scholars who argue the artifact is a forgery dating from the 19th century. The inscription uses lettering that resembled early Etruscan and Greek inscription from around 7th century B.C. The Praeneste fibula is an early indication that other Italian languages influence on Latin in a frontier city such as the early Praeneste. In more recent years, scholars have used a new scientific method to perform an in depth examination of the inscription to determine the origin date. The results have determined that the Praeneste fibula is in fact authentic and dates to 7th century, which is well before the believed forgery was produced. To understand the controversy that has plagued the Praeneste fibula, one must look into the details of the artifact and unique features of the inscription. The Praeneste fibula is a gold brooch, which was reportedly found at Praeneste in 1871. Either men or women could have used the fibula as a means of holding together clothing garments. • 16. Zopiclone Is A Drug First Developed By Rhone Poulenc Rore Zopiclone is a cyclopyrrolone drug first developed by Rhône Poulenc Rore (1, page 220) in the early 1970s (2). It is classified as a GABAA receptor agonist, and is a central nervous system depressant. Zopiclone binds onto subunits on the GABAA receptor and modulates the opening of the chloride ion channels in the neuron cell membrane (3, page 1). By increasing the conductance of chloride ions and hyperpolarizing the neuron, the frequency of action potentials is reduced. This causes an inhibition of brain activity, causing zopiclone to have hypnotic, sedative, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effects (4). Zopiclone acts much in the same way as benzodiazepines when used to treat insomnia, but was believed to have less adverse effects, and less potential for developing tolerance and addiction. As a result, it was first marketed as a better alternative to benzodiazepines. However, recent studies have revealed that it is unclear whether zopiclone shows improvements over benzodiazepines when assessed on therapeutic qualities and addiction potential (5, page 1). As a result, both zopiclone and benzodiazepines are included in schedule IV of the United States Controlled Substances Act (6). Zopiclone is known by several brand names, such as Imovane, Zimovane and Zimoclone (7). It is used to treat insomnia in adults arising from increased sleep latency, frequent awakenings during in the night, and premature awakening (3, page 1). Zopiclone alleviates the symptoms of ... (Winkler, 21) Although this negative stigma haunts his legacy, Herbert Hoover was a kind, tenderhearted and generous man who did much good in his life before, during, and after his presidency. One of Hoover s greatest endeavors was his generosity and effort in behalf of the Belgian Relief program. The article highlights this event. Herbert Hoover was raised as a member of The Quakers . This faith, instilled in him by his parents, helped mold Herbert into the morally straight man he eventually became. His father died from a heart ailment when Herbert was only six years old. Herbert therefore remembers his mother as the more prominent of the two parents. His mother s name was Hulda Hoover. Hulda Hoover was quite accomplished and was something of a free spirit. (Winkler, 23) She regularly spoke at the Quaker meetings, something women did not have any place doing in the eyes of most folks of the time. Doing this portrayed her belief in women s rights, for which she devoted much of her life to fighting for. Although Hulda died early leaving Herbert an orphan at only nine, there is no doubt that her example and teachings were seen and followed by her son. Herbert then went to live with his aunt and uncle until he enrolled at Stanford University, graduating with a degree in geology and meeting his future wife, Lou Henry. Hard ... The reasons I d save this novel from the firemen are that it deals with very real things for teenagers and kids such as puberty, sexuality, deaths in the family, and divorce. It teaches readers that you should never be afraid of being who you truly are, that if things are tough right now then they will get better with time, and that your family will almost always be there for you when you re going through something. It focuses on the mannerisms of teenagers who are just being themselves, who are only human, and are still trying to find themselves. I feel that this novel would help teens grow and help find themselves and develop, just like Noah and Jude. The fourth book I d choose to save from the firemen is the book of Genesis from the Bible. Genesis speaks of beginnings, of the heavens and the earth, animals, humans, plants, family, society and civilizations, and of sin and redemption. The list really goes on and on. • 20. The Health Financing Mechanisms Of Four High Income... Introduction Around the world, high income countries struggle making a decision on whether health care is an essential coverage or an optional coverage. If one has the right to health, then should it be mandatory for all governments to provide the health care coverage one needs? This is a common question in governments around the world and most high income countries do aim to offer universal coverage. Universal health coverage is defined as the goal that all people obtain the good quality essential health services, including promotion, prevention treatment, rehabilitation, and palliation, that they need without enduring financial hardship (1). However, there are several steps and obstacles a government must face before being able to achieve the ultimate goal of universal health coverage. This paper investigates the health financing mechanisms of four high income countries (United States, Australia, United Kingdom, and Japan), which are all at different stages of this process. Although they all aim to ultimately provide reliable, affordable, and comprehensive coverage to all individuals, these countries face similar obstacles in establishing successful public health financing. The United States finances health with a mix of public and private financing, mainly private. Australia finances health with mainly tax financed systems and has a relatively high private share. On the other hand, the United Kingdom finances health with mainly tax financed systems and has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The issue I am addressing is drug use and trafficking that has been known of for many years. Due to the fact that the least bit of attention has been brought upon drug trafficking it has begun to grow and create a larger issue than some can even begin to imagine. Illicit drug trade according to the world UN Drug Report is one of the largest global businesses, at some $322 billion (Shah,2008). Now in a sense it might be a risky business to get into, but that is fast cash and might I say a good amount as well. Now this isn t the only issue I will bring up when you notice that the attention is not given to this issue drugs can be in high demand and because no one has done much to barricade these drugs it is extremely easy to obtain these drugs. My solution for this problem comes in three s as a nation we should not make any drug legal, create effective crime policies, and reducing demand. The first way we will decrease the drug trade is by not making any drug legal to any civilian of this country. Drug legalization increasingly merits serious consideration as both an analytical model and a policy option for addressing the drug problem. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First, our sample consists of Islamic banks, commercial banks and dual banks, thus to ascertain how MLG work among the three categories, we re run equation (1) by separating the sample to three sub samples: Islamic banks (IBs); commercial banks (CBs); and dual banks (DBs). The results reported in models 2, 3, 4 in Table 6 and models 11, 12 and 13 in Table 7 respectively. The results are basically the same with slight different in the coefficients significant. Nevertheless there is negative impact of GOWN on risk disclosure however this relation is insignificant. Also the results show the FOWN and CC has more impact in IBs rather than CBs and DBs. Finally, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Third, we test the robustness of our results by re regressing equation (1) and equation (2) using weighted RDI as alternative risk disclosure index. The results reported in Table 7 are mostly the same with those results reported in Table 6 with slight different in the coefficients significant, therefore these findings indicates that our results are robust whether RDI is un weighted or weighted. Finally, and to test potential endogeneity problems which have been debated to be a common problem in CG studies (Elshandidy Neri, 2015; Larcker Rusticus, 2010; Mollaha Zamanb, 2015; Ntim et al., 2013; Ntim Soobaroyen, 2013), we uses 3SLS because it is more efficient than 2SLS (Belsley, 1988; Larcker Rusticus, 2010; Zellner Theil, 1962). Three stages least squares (3SLS) methodology consist of three steps: estimates MLG instrumental values in first step, estimates the covariance matrix for MLG instrumental values based on the residuals in second step and finally, performs GLS regression based on covariance matrix (Dennis Taisier, 2014; Mollaha Zamanb, 2015). Therefore, the model to be estimated is specified as: (2) Where everything remains unaffected as identified in equation (1) except that we use the covariance matrix from the second step ... • 33. Personal Response on the On the Rainy River ELA 30 1: Personal Essay October 16, 2012 Gaddiel O. Matira Is it fair to hold individuals responsible for a choice society pressured them to make? Canada might have been one of the best places in the world but for me and Tim, Canada is a lot more than that. For Tim O Brien s On the Rainy River , Canada is freedom: freedom from the draft letter that pressures him to go to war, freedom from the war that he never understood and always hated, freedom from the dirt, tent, and mosquitoes, freedom from that dense greasy pig stink and blood clots in the slaughterhouse, freedom from his country, and freedom from his conscience... or is it? On the other hand, for me, Canada is separation: separation from the friends and family who I most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The same society that built the morals and beliefs and principles he has in him had then become the same society that crippled him to make the choice of leaving all those behind as he stated, And what was so sad, I realized, was that Canada had become a pitiful fantasy. Silly and hopeless. It was no longer a possibility. Right then, with the shore so close, I understood that I would not do what I should do. (55) In the stories Tim O Brien and I shared, there is this one little detail in common, we both made a choice. At first, the decision of moving to Canada felt like a selfish decision I was forced to make only for the family s sake. Actually, I even held them responsible for my misery for a couple of weeks. But as those weeks and months pass by, I came to realize that such choice was actually one of the greatest things that can happen to me, for it was more than just an opportunity for our family to be whole but a breakthrough to endless possibilities towards reaching my dreams. However, for Tim, without any further details after he went to the war, we are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
