This document discusses an experiment investigating the effect of ultrasound intensity and temperature on the degradation of dextran solutions. Dextran, a polysaccharide produced by bacteria, was sonicated at various intensities (19.2-34.6 W/cm2) and temperatures (10-25°C) for up to 150 minutes. The specific viscosity of the dextran solutions was measured over time using a capillary viscometer to analyze degradation kinetics. Theoretical models were used to determine degradation constants and limit viscosities. The results showed that degradation constants and limit viscosities decreased with increasing intensity and temperature, as higher intensities and temperatures enhanced degradation through cavitation and vapor pressure effects.

Magnetic fluid hyperthermia for cancer therapyolga joy labajo
This document discusses magnetic fluid hyperthermia for cancer treatment. It presents the basic ideas of using magnetic fluid hyperthermia with an alternating magnetic field to preferentially heat tumor tissue. It examines the power losses that occur during heating, including dielectric, hysteresis, and relaxation losses. It then presents a numerical analysis using a simplified female breast phantom model and dielectric parameters to simulate the distribution of power density in the tissues. The analysis shows that the power density in the cancerous tissue is about 8,000 times higher when using magnetic fluid compared to without it, meaning eddy current effects are negligible and magnetic heating is dominant for raising the tumor temperature for therapeutic purposes.

Ultrasonic investigation of bio liquid mixtures of methanol with cinnamaldehy...eSAT Publishing House
This document summarizes an ultrasonic investigation of binary liquid mixtures of methanol and cinnamaldehyde. The ultrasonic absorption, classical absorption, excess absorption, and ratio of observed to classical absorption were studied over varying compositions and temperatures from 1-10 MHz. Ultrasonic absorption was found to be higher than classical absorption, characteristic of this binary system. The increase in ultrasonic absorption with concentration is due to possible structural relaxation processes playing an important role in studying molecular and structural properties of the components in the mixture. Thermodynamic and acoustic parameters were computed and comparisons were made between experimental and theoretically calculated ultrasonic velocities.

This paper investigates the shell properties and concentration stability of a new acoustofluidic delivery agent liposome in comparison to DefinityTM microbubbles. Frequency dependent attenuation measurements were used to estimate the shell stiffness (Sp) and friction (Sf) parameters of both agents. The liposome had lower Sp and Sf values compared to DefinityTM microbubbles. Temperature increase resulted in decreased Sf for both agents but increased Sp for liposomes and decreased Sp for microbubbles. Size distribution measurements using tunable resistive pulse sensing showed the liposomes maintained >80% concentration for 24 hours at physiological temperature, while microbubbles maintained only 27% over the same period.

Bragg reflector one-dimensional multi-layer structure sensor for the detectio...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
In the proposed work, a defect cavity multi-layer Bragg reflector structure is proposed theoretically to find the presence of thyroid cancer cells in the given sample. The modelling, design and analysis of the sensor is performed using characteristic matrix method (CMM). Proposed structure has central defect cavity with 6 pairs of low and high refractive index layers on each side of the defect. To enhances the sensor sensitivity, the incident light in mid-infrared frequency range is used as input light source. The refractive index of normal and thyroid cancer cells is analysed for the performance of the sensor. The obtained Q factor and sensitivity of the sensor design is 3729 and 2828 nm/RIU respectively. The proposed sensor is a best choice of optical sensor for the detection of thyroid cancer cells in the given test sample for accurate analysis in medical applications.
Plasmonic wave assessment via optomechatronics system for biosensor applicationIJECEIAES
Transduction biosensor (mass-based, optical and electrochemical) involves analysis, recognition and amplification in the acquired sample. In this work, the plasmonic-based biosensor was employed without using tags. It is crucial to determine angles of Brewster (Ɵb) and critical (Ɵc) for generating plasmonic resonance (Ɵr). The objective is to verify a cost-effective plasmonic biosensor through Fresnel simulation and experimentation of a developed optomechatronics system. The borosilicate glass, Au and Air layers were simulated with the Winspall 3.02 simulator. The optomechatronics system consists of: 1-optics (650 nm laser, slit, polarizer, photodiode), 2-mechanical (bipolar stepper motors, gears, stages) and 3-electronics (PIC18F4550, liquid crystal display (LCD) and drivers). Later, the software performs angular interrogation by reading the reflected beam from a rotating prism at 0.1125. Experimentation to simulation accuracy indicates that percentage differences for Ɵr and Ɵc are 1% and 0.2%, respectively. In conclusion, excellence verification was successfully achieved between experimentation and simulation. It proved that the lowcost optomechatronics system is capable and reliable to be deployed for the biosensor application.

EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE & PRESSURE ON OXIDATIVE DESULFURIZATIONAM Publications
Several technologies has been developed to removal of sulfur compounds from liquid fuels is oxidative
desulfurization, hydro desulfurization, catalytic hydro desulfurization, bio desulfurization etc.. Although several studies have
reported enhancement effect of ultrasound irradiation on oxidative desulfurization, exact mechanism underlying this
enhancement is not known yet. In this study, we have addressed this issue with dual approach with how pressure and
temperature effect the desulfurization mechanism. Results of this study have given interesting revelation of interaction
between mechanism of ultrasound, cavitation and oxidation system. Isolation of cavitation phenomenon helps to increase the
extent of oxidation. This effect is attributed to formation of hydrogen and carbon monoxide during transient collapse of
cavitation bubbles due to thermal dissociation of hexane vapor entrapped in the bubble, which hamper action of O species
generated from oxidation system. Transient cavitation itself does not give rise to radical formation due to rather low
temperature peaks reached during collapse. Therefore, cavitation does not enhance the oxidation process, but in fact, has
adverse effect on it. Current study has established that beneficial effect of ultrasound on oxidative desulfurization system is
merely of physical nature (i.e. emulsification due to intense micro-mixing) with no involvement of sonochemical effect.
Fluorescence spectroscopy analyzes fluorescence from a sample using light, usually ultraviolet light, to excite electrons in molecules of certain compounds causing them to emit light of a lower energy. Molecules have various electronic and vibrational energy levels, and fluorescence spectroscopy examines electronic state transitions. A photon excites a molecule to a higher vibrational state, which then loses energy and drops to the lowest excited state, emitting a photon of different energy upon returning to the ground state.

A high-Speed Communication System is based on the Design of a Bi-NoC Router, ...DharmaBanothu
The Network on Chip (NoC) has emerged as an effective
solution for intercommunication infrastructure within System on
Chip (SoC) designs, overcoming the limitations of traditional
methods that face significant bottlenecks. However, the complexity
of NoC design presents numerous challenges related to
performance metrics such as scalability, latency, power
consumption, and signal integrity. This project addresses the
issues within the router's memory unit and proposes an enhanced
memory structure. To achieve efficient data transfer, FIFO buffers
are implemented in distributed RAM and virtual channels for
FPGA-based NoC. The project introduces advanced FIFO-based
memory units within the NoC router, assessing their performance
in a Bi-directional NoC (Bi-NoC) configuration. The primary
objective is to reduce the router's workload while enhancing the
FIFO internal structure. To further improve data transfer speed,
a Bi-NoC with a self-configurable intercommunication channel is
suggested. Simulation and synthesis results demonstrate
guaranteed throughput, predictable latency, and equitable
network access, showing significant improvement over previous
designs

Accident detection system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
The Rapid growth of technology and infrastructure has made our lives easier. The
advent of technology has also increased the traffic hazards and the road accidents take place
frequently which causes huge loss of life and property because of the poor emergency facilities.
Many lives could have been saved if emergency service could get accident information and
reach in time. Our project will provide an optimum solution to this draw back. A piezo electric
sensor can be used as a crash or rollover detector of the vehicle during and after a crash. With
signals from a piezo electric sensor, a severe accident can be recognized. According to this
project when a vehicle meets with an accident immediately piezo electric sensor will detect the
signal or if a car rolls over. Then with the help of GSM module and GPS module, the location
will be sent to the emergency contact. Then after conforming the location necessary action will
be taken. If the person meets with a small accident or if there is no serious threat to anyone’s
life, then the alert message can be terminated by the driver by a switch provided in order to
avoid wasting the valuable time of the medical rescue team.
