This document discusses the use of fuzzy logic controllers for power system stabilizers. It begins with an introduction to power system stability and the need for stabilizers to damp oscillations. A single machine infinite bus model is described and a conventional lead-lag power system stabilizer model is presented. Next, the design of a fuzzy logic based power system stabilizer is outlined, including input/output variables, rules, and membership functions. A 36 rule fuzzy logic controller is presented. Simulation results in Simulink are shown comparing performances for positive and negative K5 values. Finally, the fuzzy logic stabilizer is compared to other techniques like ANN, GA and PSO, showing it reduces oscillations faster. The conclusion is that the fuzzy logic approach
