ABSTRACT- Impatiens sulcata is an annual plant used in traditional Chinese medicine for treatment of several
ailments, seeds are edible, plant paste is applied to prevent utricaria, itching, eczema, pimples and mucilage is used as an
abortifacient. Methanolic extract of Impatiens sulcata and its various fractions were screened for phytochemical analysis,
antioxidant potential by total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, total antioxidant activity, DPPH scavenging
activity, reducing power and ABTS scavenging activity, while antimicrobial activity by disc diffusion assay against a set
of bacterial and fungal strains. Petroleum ether and methanolic extract showed higher free radical scavenging activity and
phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of saponins, flavonoids and triterpenoids. In biological assay, the extracts
showed the moderate antimicrobial activity.

Conclusions

Heterogeneous Transesterification of Luffa aegyptiaca Oil to BiodieselPremier Publishers
In the continuous desire to find suitable alternative, renewable and biodegradable source of oil for commercial diesel Luffa aegyptiaca oil was converted into biodiesel through transesterification reaction using heterogeneous hydrotalcite particles from MgO/Al2O3/Kaolin clay as catalyst and methanol as solvent at controlled reaction conditions. The characterization results of pure Luffa aegyptiaca oil and biodiesel samples was obtained and compared: moisture content 0.0045 %-0.0034 %, ash content 0.00 %-0.02 %, saponification value 194.5 - 61.43, acid value 9.65-0.144, freezing point 5.00 - 30.00 min, pour point 5.00-3.00 min, density 0.969 g/mL-0.889 g/mL, while the flash point gave 349 k-345 k, specific gravity 0.865 g/mL-0.851 g/mL, and viscosity 34.95 Nsm-2- 5.82 Nsm-2 accordingly. The catalyst sample (MgO/Al2O3/Kaolin clay) after characterized using X-Ray Diffractometer, showed promising surface activity and selectivity on both the calcined and uncalcined catalyst. The optimum transesterification reaction conditions was obtained at 333 k, 6 hours reaction time and 6% catalyst concentration. The reaction conditions had direct effect on percentage yield of the biodiesel product with maximum yield of 79.61 % obtained for untreated oil but 81.27 % for treated oil at 333 k, 3 hours reaction time and 2 % catalyst concentration. FT-IR spectra analysis of biodiesel oil revealed decrease in frequency band of the hydroxyl group (O-H) between 1780 cm-1 and 1700 cm-1 and its subsequent absence at 1730 cm-1. The Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer composition for pure Luffa aegyptiaca oil and Biodiesel oil showed that free fatty acid was converted to fatty acid methyl esters. Thus, transesterification of Luffa aegyptiaca oil sample using MgO/Al2O3/Kaolin clay heterogeneous catalyst was a success.

Abstract— Textile industries are releasing a large number of toxic synthetic dyes into waste waters. Hence, the removal of such compounds from environment prior to their final disposal is necessary. In the present study, potential use of ginger (Zingiber officinale) peroxidase in decolorization and detoxification of direct blue 80 has been investigated. It was found that only 0.166 U/ml of ginger peroxidase was sufficient for maximum decolorization of dye (25 mg/L). H2O2 was required in low concentration (0.3 mM) in the presence of 0.6 mM 1-hydroxybenzotriazole. Direct blue 80 was also successfully removed in stirred batch process. It was observed that ginger peroxidase was highly stable over a wide range of pH and temperatures. Km and Vmax of the enzyme for direct blue 80 was found to be 27.8 mg/L and 2.09 mg/L/min, respectively. In UV-visible spectral analysis a sharp decline in peak was observed for the treated direct blue 80 which substantiates the breakdown of chromophore group of dye. Genotoxicity assessment by comet assay and chromosomal aberration test confirmed that the direct blue 80 was successfully detoxified by ginger peroxidase. Other direct and acid dyes were also treated either as a single or a mixture of different dyes and it was observed that these dyes were also decolorized significantly under similar experimental conditions. Our study suggests that this enzyme-redox mediator system constitutes a cost effective model which can decolorize the industrial textile effluents and also can reduce the toxic load of environment.

— In this study, the effects of the grape seed powders and extracts of from two different grape cultivars (Razakı and Siyah Gemre) on the quality characteristics of Turkish sausage were investigated during the ripening period. Some characteristics of Turkish sausage including phenolic content, radical scavenging, hydrogen peroxide scavenging, Fe +2 chelating activity, Inhibition of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcusaureus, Candida albicans were studied. In fermented sausage, grape seed powders and extracts demonstrated the greatest inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Furthermore, the results showed that Siyah Gemre grape seed extract was able to reduce Staphylococcusaureus populations by 42 CFU/g, while the population of Escherichia Coli was reduced by 590 CFU/g. Siyah Gemre grape seed extract was able to reduce Candida albicans populations by 880 CFU/g. Also this study demonstrated that grape seed extracts were more effective than grape seed powders. Our results suggest that the use of grape seed extract is a feasible alternative as antibacterial and antioxidant agents to prevent the deterioration of foods by bacteria and oxidation. Properties of Cold Process Soaps Prepared from Different v2zq
This document describes a study that investigated how different fats and oils produce soaps with different characteristics when used in cold-process saponification. Shea nut oil, groundnut oil, and tallow were used to make soaps. The soaps were analyzed for color, texture, lathering capacity, cleansing power, and pH. It was found that the shea butter soap had the best lathering, while the groundnut oil soap had the most effective cleaning power. The cold-process saponification method and hands-on learning approach taken in this study provides a way to actively engage students in chemistry.
Heterogeneous Transesterification of Luffa aegyptiaca Oil to BiodieselPremier Publishers
In the continuous desire to find suitable alternative, renewable and biodegradable source of oil for commercial diesel Luffa aegyptiaca oil was converted into biodiesel through transesterification reaction using heterogeneous hydrotalcite particles from MgO/Al2O3/Kaolin clay as catalyst and methanol as solvent at controlled reaction conditions. The characterization results of pure Luffa aegyptiaca oil and biodiesel samples was obtained and compared: moisture content 0.0045 %-0.0034 %, ash content 0.00 %-0.02 %, saponification value 194.5 - 61.43, acid value 9.65-0.144, freezing point 5.00 - 30.00 min, pour point 5.00-3.00 min, density 0.969 g/mL-0.889 g/mL, while the flash point gave 349 k-345 k, specific gravity 0.865 g/mL-0.851 g/mL, and viscosity 34.95 Nsm-2- 5.82 Nsm-2 accordingly. The catalyst sample (MgO/Al2O3/Kaolin clay) after characterized using X-Ray Diffractometer, showed promising surface activity and selectivity on both the calcined and uncalcined catalyst. The optimum transesterification reaction conditions was obtained at 333 k, 6 hours reaction time and 6% catalyst concentration. The reaction conditions had direct effect on percentage yield of the biodiesel product with maximum yield of 79.61 % obtained for untreated oil but 81.27 % for treated oil at 333 k, 3 hours reaction time and 2 % catalyst concentration. FT-IR spectra analysis of biodiesel oil revealed decrease in frequency band of the hydroxyl group (O-H) between 1780 cm-1 and 1700 cm-1 and its subsequent absence at 1730 cm-1. The Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer composition for pure Luffa aegyptiaca oil and Biodiesel oil showed that free fatty acid was converted to fatty acid methyl esters. Thus, transesterification of Luffa aegyptiaca oil sample using MgO/Al2O3/Kaolin clay heterogeneous catalyst was a success.

Abstract— Textile industries are releasing a large number of toxic synthetic dyes into waste waters. Hence, the removal of such compounds from environment prior to their final disposal is necessary. In the present study, potential use of ginger (Zingiber officinale) peroxidase in decolorization and detoxification of direct blue 80 has been investigated. It was found that only 0.166 U/ml of ginger peroxidase was sufficient for maximum decolorization of dye (25 mg/L). H2O2 was required in low concentration (0.3 mM) in the presence of 0.6 mM 1-hydroxybenzotriazole. Direct blue 80 was also successfully removed in stirred batch process. It was observed that ginger peroxidase was highly stable over a wide range of pH and temperatures. Km and Vmax of the enzyme for direct blue 80 was found to be 27.8 mg/L and 2.09 mg/L/min, respectively. In UV-visible spectral analysis a sharp decline in peak was observed for the treated direct blue 80 which substantiates the breakdown of chromophore group of dye. Genotoxicity assessment by comet assay and chromosomal aberration test confirmed that the direct blue 80 was successfully detoxified by ginger peroxidase. Other direct and acid dyes were also treated either as a single or a mixture of different dyes and it was observed that these dyes were also decolorized significantly under similar experimental conditions. Our study suggests that this enzyme-redox mediator system constitutes a cost effective model which can decolorize the industrial textile effluents and also can reduce the toxic load of environment.

Processing and Quality Evaluation of Menthol Mint Oilinventionjournals
Menthol mint oil is distilled by water steam distillation from leaves of Mentha arvensis and is the most importance source of L-menthol. It contains L-menthol 68.3%, menthone 8.2%, isomenthone 4.4%, menthyl acetate 4.3%, mixture of isomers of menthol 4.5%, cis-3- hexanal 0.2-% and limonene 1.2%, However percentage of components depends on the genetic and ecological conditions. Major component L-Menthol is isolated by freezing at low temperature with the recovery of around 65% in form of menthol flakes and the remaining material is known as DMO or dementholised oil (30%). During the process 1% loss is generally found. All the components are being used in Flavours, Pharmaceuticals, Tobacco and other cosmetic Industries.
Depleting nature of nonrenewable energy sources and continuous environmental tribulations make the mankind to think differently regarding alternative renewable energy sources. In this regard, present research investigation contributes biodiesel from canola oil deodorizer distillate (CODD) using Lipase AY Amano 30 (Candida rugosa) and Novozyme 40013 (Candida antarctica) in the presence of methanol. Initially the neutral glycerides present in CODD were hydrolysed using lipase Amano AY 30 in the presence of water. The hydrolysed CODD was then esterified with methanol using non-specific immobilized enzyme NS 40013 for the production of biodiesel. The characteristics of final product were compared with diesel fuel and it showed good results. This bioprocess technology using biohydrolysis and bioesterification is a novel technology for biodiesel production from cheap raw materials like CODD.
This document summarizes an experiment to extract and characterize crude oil from the seeds of Spermacoce hispida. The extraction was done using petroleum ether in a Soxhlet apparatus. Characterization of the extracted oil included determining specific gravity, refractive index, acid value, saponification value, and iodine value. The results of these tests were within ASTM standard specifications. Characterization suggested the oil contains high levels of saturated fatty acids. The oil showed considerable changes in iodine value and peroxide value when stored for one month under light, darkness, and refrigeration conditions, indicating oxidative rancidity.

In Ayurveda, the leaf juice of Adhatoda vasica, a shrub native to Asia is incorporated in
many traditional herbal formulations. However, suitable solvent and a suitable extraction
method for phytochemical profiling are not well established, and there is no published mass
spectra structural interpretation of the identified compounds. This has caused a few
problems in herbal formulation research due to the bias derived from different extraction
methods. Therefore, this study used polar and non polar extraction for phytochemical
analysis on Adhatoda vasica, aiming to assess the potential impact of different solvents. This
study included extractive value, total phenol and alkaloid content of the leaves in different
preparations. Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to
study the phytochemical profile of different solvents. Significant differences were observed in
all the parameters such as extract yield, total phenol, total alkaloid and phytochemical
composition. The ethanol extract stood out most for effective extraction of phytochemicals,
especially for the alkaloids. The results highlight the necessity for comparative analyses of
chemical composition in different solvent extractions and careful choice and validation of
analytical methodology in herbal formulation research.

Fatliquor preparation from Karanja seed oil (Pongamia pinnata L.) and its app...IOSR Journals
This document describes the preparation of a fatliquor from Karanja seed oil and its application in leather processing. Karanja seed oil was extracted from seeds using solvent extraction. The oil was then sulphated through a reaction with sulphuric acid to introduce sulphonic acid groups. FT-IR analysis confirmed the attachment of sulphonic acid groups. The prepared fatliquor was used in processing goat skins, which were found to meet leather specification standards, suggesting the Karanja seed oil-derived fatliquor can substitute imported varieties. Physical and chemical analysis showed the sulphated Karanja oil has properties suitable for use as a fatliquor in leather processing.
ABSTRACT- The aim of this study was to investigate in vitro antioxidant activity and anti-bacterial activity of the petroleum ether, ethyl acetate
and methanol extract obtained from the whole part of Jurinea dolomiaea Boiss (Asteraceae). Total phenolic and flavonoid contents of these extracts
were determined as gallic acid and rutin equivalents, respectively. Total antioxidant activity, reducing power of these extract were evaluated as ascorbic
acid and gallic acid equivalents, respectively. ABTS free radical scavenging activity is expressed as trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity
(TEAC). The antibacterial activity of the extract was investigated by disc diffusion method. The ethyl acetate and methanol extracts showed moderate
activity against E. coli and S. aureus.

Bioethanol can be used as a second generation advanced biofuels. Currently it is mainly produced from starch but bioethanol production from starch leads to competition for food, land and price. Therefore, ligno-cellulosic agricultural residues are potentially used for bioethanol production to solve such challenges. The efficiency of the fermentation process mainly depends on the amount of reducing sugars which is further enhanced by selecting an efficient pre-treatment process. In the present work Tamarind seeds have been chosen as the substrate. The yield of bioethanol mainly depends on the yield of reducing sugars which is again dependent on the various pre-treatment methods used. So, the proposed work aims to carry out different pre-treatment methods to identify the best pre-treatment method for enhancing the yield of reducing sugars. The tamarind kernel powder will be extracted from tamarind seeds and the extracted tamarind kernel powder is subjected to various pre-treatment methods like acid pre-treatment, alkaline pre-treatment and steam explosion. The amount of reducing sugars obtained, were then determined by di-nitro salicylic acid method. It was found that acid pre-treatment with 0.3N HCl and 0.3N H2SO4 is the best pre-treatment method among the selected pre-treatment methods.

This study evaluated the dissipation of thiophanate methyl residue in grapes grown in India. Field trials were conducted in four locations at two application rates of 500 and 1000 g ai/ha. Samples were collected up to 15 days after application and residues were analyzed. The fungicide dissipated following first order kinetics with half-lives ranging from 4.74 to 6.52 days depending on location and dose. More than 50% of the initial residue degraded within 7 days irrespective of location or treatment. The initial deposits were below India's maximum residue limit of 5 ug/g.

The study investigated the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of Fagonia indica through biochemical, phytochemical, and antioxidant analyses as well as testing antibacterial properties. Biochemical analysis found the aqueous fraction contained the highest reducing sugars and methanol fraction the highest proteins. Phytochemical analysis identified tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and ascorbic acid in different fractions. Antioxidant analysis revealed the methanol extract had the highest total phenolics and antioxidants as well as strongest DPPH, ABTS, and superoxide radical scavenging activities. The antibacterial assay tested fractions against Streptococcus pyogenes using disc diffusion and serial dilution methods.

This study examines the effect of response reduction factors (R factors) on reinforced concrete (RC) framed structures through nonlinear dynamic analysis. Three RC frame models with varying heights (4, 8, and 12 stories) were analyzed in ETABS software under different R factors ranging from 1 to 5. The results showed that displacement increased as the R factor decreased, indicating less linear behavior for lower R factors. Drift also decreased proportionally with increasing R factors from 1 to 5. Shear forces in the frames decreased with higher R factors. In general, R factors of 3 to 5 produced more satisfactory performance with less displacement and drift. This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

The advantages go beyond sustainability to reach financial support and stability. The work in this paper introduces the hybrid system between PV and EV to support industrial and commercial plants. This paper covers the theoretical framework of the proposed hybrid system including the required equation to complete the cost analysis when PV and EV are present. In addition, the proposed design diagram which sets the priorities and requirements of the system is presented. The proposed approach allows setup to advance their power stability, especially during power outages. The presented information supports researchers and plant owners to complete the necessary analysis while promoting the deployment of clean energy. The result of a case study that represents a dairy milk farmer supports the theoretical works and highlights its advanced benefits to existing plants. The short return on investment of the proposed approach supports the paper's novelty approach for the sustainable electrical system.
