Harrison Photography
The photographs at Harrison photography gallery, I found out that they are both different and similar
from what I ve learned within the text book History of Photography . I think they re the same as from
the book because of coloring, mainly in black and white. The difference between these photographs in
Harrison s gallery and from the text book are the sizes of the photos, clothing on portraits and prints.
Each individual photograph has its own size and printing process.
Which photographers are familiar, which are new?
Within the gallery, I was able to spot a photograph taken by Alfred Stieglitz that was familiar to me as
we read a chapter on him that I found very intriguing. Aside from his photograph, his camera work
book was also laid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think viewers such as myself appreciate the idea of letting our imagination go wild and make our
own interpretation of what the photograph is or might be and develop our own side story to that
photograph. Although most photographers titled their photographs, it s a lot more fun to be creative as
was she/he when they took that photo and thought of its name.
What does the imagery say about the photographer?
I think that the photographs that the photographers took really tells a lot about him/herself. There were
pictures such as flowers, kids, waterfalls and forest. To me, that tells me that he/she must be a very
calming and soft hearted person. There were also photographs of people, parks and athletes (Mn Twin
baseball) which also tells me that this photographer was a social person who enjoy sports, a good walk
in the park and socializing with people.
What do the photographs say about the area and the era in which these photographs were created?
Photographs taken in the older days from 1990 s were a lot colorless, blind and lacks facial
expression. Which is understandable because photography was invented shortly before that time frame
compare to now where most photographs are in color, are bigger in size and has different printing

Psychoanalytic Analysis of Shakespeare s Hamlet
If one wants to truly understand the psychological implications of William Shakespeare s Hamlet, the
primary focus should be on the character Hamlet, and how he develops and modifies throughout the
play. Using the fundamentals of the psychoanalytic perspective of critical evaluation, one would be
able to truly identify and explore the true nature of Hamlet, and the effects that his character has on the
situation surrounding him. In order to gain a true understanding of most of the detail that is implied
through Hamlet s way of portraying himself to others, it is vital to look deep into the actions that are
carried out, and analyze them psychoanalytically. Many have already written works that evaluate the
play using this method, and one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the appearance of the ghost the reader is, whether they realize it or not, being challenged to take
a position on Hamlet s state of mind. At first the reader may take it at face value assuming that a ghost
is a ghost and should be accepted as such. But after a deeper look using the psychoanalytic perspective
of critical evaluation, it becomes believable that the ghost is just a trick of Hamlet s mind used to
justify his urges to avenge his father s death, a sort of madness. It is hard to decide what to think about
Shakespeare s introduction of the ghost because of the two different ways he portrays it. Hamlet is not
the first one to see the ghost, Marcellus and Bernardo were. The next night it appeared to Horatio as
well. It was only after its first two appearances that Hamlet got a chance to see the ghost. At this point
the reader doesn t have much of a choice but to take the ghost at face value. If several characters saw
the ghost there must really be a ghost. It s not until Hamlet s second encounter with the ghost that the
reader is asked to decide whether they buy into the idea of the ghost being real. After Hamlet kills
Polonius, he has a conversation with his mother during which the ghost appears to Hamlet, but this
time he is the only one who ‘sees it, Causing the queen to question his state of mind. Alas, how is t

The Gi Bill Pros And Cons
The G.I. Bill would undergo several legislative changes. On March 28, 1970 President Richard Nixon
signed the Veterans Education and Training Amendments Act (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The act
introduced two new provisions. The first introduced a rate increase of 34.6% (Mosch, 1971, p. 280).
The second, eliminated most duplication prohibitions (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The G.I. Bill would
again be modified in July of 1985 and adopting the name of its Alabama representative sponsor Sonny
Montgomery (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1008). The most recent of amendments to the G.I. Bill came in
the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 or Post 9/11 G.I. Bill for short (Hitt,
Sternberg, Wadsworth, Vaughan, Carlson, Dansie Mohrbacher, 2015, p. 536). This amendment

relatively steady from 1985 to 1992 despite the increased costs of college tuition (Simon et al., 2010,

Millipedes Lab Report
1. a. Soil is one abiotic variable that would explain why the millipedes are found more frequently
under logs. The soil could contain essential nutrients to the millipedes. Another abiotic factor could be
the darkness provided under the logs. Millipedes can take shelter under the logs and avoid light.
Predation is a biotic factor that also explains why millipedes are plentiful under logs. The logs
millipedes hide under provide a place for millipedes to take cover from possible predators. b.
Millipedes take shelter under logs to escape light and heat. In order to prove this we need to conduct
an experiment. Place two different groups of millipedes each into their own container. Put some soil
and a log into each container. Take the first container and place a bright heat lamp over the millipedes.
Leave the second container alone. Record how many millipedes are under the log for each group. If
the hypothesis is true and millipedes take shelter to avoid light and heat, then more millipedes will be
under the log in the first group. c. Light would also affect how plants distribute like millipedes. In
order to modify this experiment to work with plants, the heat lamp on the first group would be
removed. Instead of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

cause water to evaporate faster. This affects all organisms that need water to survive. The temperature
also limits productivity by drying out organisms increasing the demand for water. The soil in deserts
are dry and lack nutrients that are beneficial to plants. Both high temperature and poor soil greatly
affects the photosynthesis of plants in a negative way. The annual precipitation in deserts are very low
which is one of the reasons for low productivity. Little water is available for photosynthesis and
organisms who depend on it. With little water available for organisms survival, deserts have extremely

American Culture Vs Canada Culture
Canada s culture is in many ways very similar to culture in the United States. This in part due to the
proximity the two countries are to one another. However, despite their similarities, there are some very
distinct differences. Many Americans have several misconceptions about the large country to the
north, which are largely out of ignorance and lack of insight. Thus, it is important to understand that
Canada has its own unique history, characteristics, holidays and demographics.
The name Canada is derived from the word Kanata which translates to Village in the Iroquois
language. The country of Canada is so large it surpasses the United States in size in terms of land
mass, even when Alaska and Hawaii are included (Drozdow, n.d.). Canadas large land mass consists
of ten Provinces and three Territories, with its Capital City of Ottawa sitting in the Province of Ontario
(Jasuja, Sehgal, Gartman July 2017). Canada is a geographically vast country that has enormous
regional differences that include climate, population, language, and culture (Drozdow, n.d.). The
population of Canada is over 35 Million, while the population of the United States is over 321 million.
Both countries religious majority is approximately Seventy percent Christian (Jasuja, Sehgal, Gartman
July 2017).
Canada even has a similar monetary system to the U.S. One Canadian Dollar is equal to eighty
American cents. One striking difference to the monetary system was when Canada stopped minting

Synopsis Of The Novel Train On Pakistan By Khushwant...
The well known novel Train to Pakistan initiates study on theme of partition. This story opens the
phase of political hatred, violence and sectarianism in a brilliant and realistic way. Related to those
decisive or fateful days, which were brought by the British Raj followed by destruction, death and
deracination for the north of the subcontinent; Khushwant Singh refers to the fact that India might
have gained independence then, but the price they paid for it was Partition . The strength and the
power of unity were deliberately divided between the two nations. It depicts the pitiful tale of
individuals and communities suffered in the revolution of Partition. Tran to Pakistan illustrates the
agony suffered on both sides of the political boundaries India and Pakistan after the partition.
In general, partition uprooted the whole country and it is described as one of the deadliest experience
the natives ever had of leaving their belongings behind and adapting the idea of new land, which was
not theirs. The harrowing and spine chilling events of 1947 had shaken the faith of the people in the
innate human beings. It had driven them into the state of wonder over what man has made of man. To
Khushwant Singh, this was a period of great disillusionment and crisis of values, a distressing and
disintegrating period of his life. The belief he had cherished all his life was shattered. Giving strength
to his inner struggle and agony, he says: I had believed in the innate goodness

American Culture Vs Mexican Culture Analysis
An immigrant s culture and beliefs take a shift, sometimes going extinct, or they evolve to include
elements from both countries; where they grew up, and where they ll grow old. Transculturation is key
in order to fit into a new society, those who do it well have a smoother time transitioning. For example
the Hmong and Mexicans both had to flee their country, but the Mexicans found it easier to transition
to the American culture than the Hmongs. The Hmongs never thought they would leave their home in
Laos, they were happy and thriving on their lands. Unfortunately war struck and the Hmong agreed to
help the US fight back, due to their involvement in the war, they were seen as traders, therefore they
were persecuted by the Vietnamese. Due to this the Hmong people suffered in ... Show more content

People viewed them as ignorant, and delusional, due to their lack of knowledge of the American
lifestyle. Many found it irritating the little desire the Hmong had towards the American culture.
American people became extremely intolerant of the Hmong for a period of time, In Providence,
children walking home from school were beaten. In Missoula, teenagers were stoned. In Milwaukee,
garden plots were vandalized and a car was set on fire. In Philadelphia, anti Hmong muggings,
robberies, beatings, stonings, and vandalism were so commonplace during the early eighties that the
city s Commission on Human Relations held public hearings to investigate the violence ( Fadiman,
Anne, Pg 192). What appeared to be normal to the Hmong, often seemed strange to non hmong which
caused cultural tension between Hmong and non Hmong people. The more the tension build between
these two groups the bigger the culture gap developed. Due to the culture gap each group refrained

The World s Largest Population
From the 3.68 billion people that will be added to the world population between 1995 and 2050, Asia
will contribute some 2 billion. This enormous increase is due to the already massive size of the
population. Most of this growth will occur in the next three decades. Between 1995 and 2025 Asia s
population will grow by 1.35 billion between 2025 and 2050 the increase is projected to be just 658
million. China is the world s largest population, estimated to be around 1.24 billion in 1998. It grows
at a rate of 1.3% per year or 44,100 people a day. There are now more people living in China than
whole world 150 years ago. The population broke the billion mark in the 1982 census, the results of
which provided the justification for the strict one child policy which effectively curbed rapid
population growth. In the 1990 census, China counted 1.133 billion people, over the next decades the
world population will inevitably age. This is an unavoidable consequence of large birth cohorts during
the 1950s and 1960s and the rapid fertility decline since the 1970s. In 2025 the baby boomers of the
1950s and 60s will be between 65 and 75 years of age. These large aging cohorts are followed by the
relatively small baby bust generations of the worldwide fertility decline. In 1950 there were only 131
million people of age 65 and older; in 1995 their number had almost tripled and was estimated at 371
million. Between now and 2025 the number will more than double again; and by 2050 we

Before using the machine, dimensions must be taken of the cylinder, dimensions of the inlet and
outlet, the distance from the cradle to the pivot point, the distance from the weight balancing collar to
the pivot point, and the distance from the cylinder to the pivot point. Prior to engaging the machine s
fan, the apparatus must be balanced. Referring to Figure 1, move the weight balancing collar to
balance the moments. At this time the mass of the weight added to the cradle and the drag force is
zero. Once the apparatus is balanced, measure the distance from the weight balancing collar to the

Kelly Husted History of Math Mathematician Paper John Wallis 1616 1703 John Wallis was born
November 23, 1616 and lived till the old age of 87 until October 28, 1703 where he passed away in
Oxford. He was born of Reverend John Wallis and Joanna Chapman in Ashford, Kent, England (O
Connor amp; Robertson, 2002). He was the third of five children in his English family, unfortunately
losing his father at the very young age of 6. Wallis is known for introducing series systematically in
his work and paving the way for his great contemporary, Isaac Newton (Eves, 1990, p.392 393).
Wallis is most famous for his book, Arithmetica Infinitorum, development of infinitesimal calculus,
and introducing the symbol for infinity. John Wallis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this work Wallis also introduced interpolation, which was very common of this time period. In
1657, he published the Mathesis Universalis on algebra, arithmetic, and geometry, further developing
notation. He invented and introduced the famous symbol ∞ for infinity, which is still used today. In
this work, Wallis was the first to demonstrate the utility of the exponent using negative and fractional
exponential notation (Westfall, 1995). Wallis next major work was not published until 1685. His
Treatise on Algebra contains an important study of equations that he applied to the properties of
conoids, which are almost shaped just like a cone (Westfall, 1995). In this work, Walls accepts
negative and complex roots. He shows that a3 7a=6 has exactly three roots and that they are all real (O
Connor amp; Robertson, 2002). Wallis also applied algebraic techniques rather than the traditional
geometry. Using these new algebraic techniques, he contributed substantially to solving problems
involving infinitesimals which are quantities that are almost incalculably small (Westfall, 1995). In
this work, Wallis critiqued Descartes Rule of Signs stating correctly that the rule which determines the
number of positive and the number of negative roots by inspection, is only valid if all the roots of the
equation are real (O Connor amp; Robertson, 2002) which became a highly controversial subject.
Wallis seemed to create

level of an individual is directly linked to their work, in which is where most of their day revolves
around.
By taking the the list of occupations at face value, I would assume or expect that individuals with roles
in management, business or administration would self report a lower stress level compared to their
peers with occupations that may require a substantial amount of physical labour and manual work. As
for the strength of the relationship, I would predict that the strength may be moderately lower than

In addition, it appears that this trend happens across all occupations. If we were to pick out values that
recieved greater frequency counts in terms of no stress at all, it would be the Sales/Services,

and the values are not too far apart from what people in the Business/Management sector reported.
Therefore, this comes to show that the relationship between the two variables is very limited. I chose
not to recode the variables because the way it is given is inclusive and exhaustive. Recoding may risk
losing some valuable data in the process of refinement and change the results too dramatically.
Even if they are related, it would be a weak correlation considering the Cramer s V value. Since the

The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly By Sergio Leone
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, directed by Sergio Leone, shows the exhilarating tale of three men
and their pursuit for two hundred thousand dollars. The film takes place in the wild South West during
the deadly and gruesome American Civil War. The characters come in contact with the war, both on

The constable and the sheriff come out to collect the fugitive and to give Blondie his reward. The
constable wears a brown suit. Brown is associated with the earth (Cirlot). Thus, the constable s brown
suit symbolizes his being representative of the common folk and their sentiment towards Tuco. The
sheriff is clothed in all black and wears a black hat, portraying the sheriff as an arbiter of death
because he is the one responsible for the execution. When Tuco s execution takes place, the camera
pans across the spectators heads. The colors of the hats of the audience members are either black and
brown. The black and brown hats serve as a similar device as the constable s suit that the common
folk are in support of Tuco s execution. However, Blondie appears in a cloud of cigar smoke in the
window of a barn overlooking the proceedings. His standing in his light colored outfit standing in the
barn window high above the ground reminds one of a guardian angel. This sentiment is reinforced
when Angel Eyes says at a later hanging, Even a filthy beggar like that has got a protecting angel. A
golden haired angel watches over him (TGTBATU). Right before Tuco is hanged, Blondie shoots the
rope, allowing Tuco to escape. He then proceeds to shoot off the audience s hats. This symbolizes the
spectators loss of the thought of hanging Tuco because he is out of their clutches. As Tuco gallops out
of town, Blondie jumps down onto a wagon and races after his partner. The two characters are then
seen dividing their earnings from their scam. Blondie lights a cigar and offers Tuco one as well.

physical attributes, but also satisfies customer s needs and wants. Nike s unique value proposition has
always been the innovative design, durability, and quality of their products. For example, a rational
appeal in an advertisement can focus on Nike s comfort and durability, which fulfills safety needs
(Percy, 2008). We can also note that Nike satisfies esteem needs by being extremely dependable in

actualization, and social approval, are the underlying factors that influence purchasing decisions.
Gaining ambition, social achievement, and pride in one s personal appearance, are emotional benefits

He uses his employment as a means of escaping social conventions through his monotonous statement
I would prefer not (Melville 1998, p. 198), living a life of choice and preference in a world where
preference is non existent. Bartleby represents a new form of humanity where an individual has the
right to choice rather than living a life of routine through social constraints, defying all forms of
society s restrictions in order to reveal his true desires.
Chekhov explores this concept of conflict through Anna and Gurov s relationship in The Lady with
the Dog as he reveals a need to defy social restraints in order to escape their marriages as this restricts
them from fully embracing their desires. The image of the long grey fence adorned with nails
(Chekhov 1998, p. 371), symbolises the confines of marriage keeping them apart, unable to be free
from social restraint. Creating an air of seclusion and limitations, this depiction appears to be fending
off Gurov, producing a feeling of entrapment and isolation as it separates their love. The image of an
old woman, a beggar and a dog walking in and out of the fence freely further emphasises this lack of
freedom they have in their lives; the portrayal of a beggar being the most illuminating aspect of this
passage. Even what is considered as the lowest form of humanity, appears to show more freedom then
what they can as they cannot pass this

The simple motive of the merger was to take advantages of each other s distribution networks global

Chrysler s distribution networks in North America, while Chrysler could reach out to Europe market
thanks to Daimler Benz s networks. Goldman Sachs was just brought in to make the deal happen.

Moreover, Daimler Benz s and Chrysler s brand images were completely opposite, which makes them
lose their own intrinsic value if they would merge together. Again, the clash in cultures and values
took them apart and a harmony within the new company seemed to be impossible.
In addition, with the purpose of protecting sales of Daimler s luxury and uncompromising quality
products like Mercedes, some core vehicles of Chrysler, such as Dodge Neon and the Jeep Grand
Cherokee, were sidelined in favor of Daimler s products. Apparently, Chrysler s products are always
within cost control, while Daimler Benz s vehicles are less cost effective. Merging with Daimler Benz,
Chrysler hadn t earned as many benefits as expected, but already faced a severe internal competition
which harmed it business not only in the US market, but also hindered Chrysler s plan of expansion in
Europe.
Practically, from Chrysler s point of view, instead of benefiting from synergy savings and instead of
promoting its brand in new market, the merger with Daimler Benz actually put Chrysler into a bigger

Pompei Amphitheatre Research Paper
Now lets visit a couple of places in Pompei. Some famous and interesting places are The Villa of the
Mysteries, The Garden of fugitives , and The Pompeii Amphitheatre. The Villa of Mysteries is famous
for the series of Frescos in many rooms. It was a country house built around 65 50 BC.
The mural painting that gives this house its name is found in the dining room, or triclinium, of the
house. It s associated with Dionysian cult practices that are known to have flourished in the area.
Dionysus, was the Greek god of wine and ecstasy. Dionysian cult members were all female, called
Maenads or Bacchantes.

In Everything That Rises Must Converge by Flannery O Connor, is a story of racial domestic violence
between Julian s mother and an African American woman who is trying to keep her son away from
her. The story is in a third person point of view which means none of the characters is the narrator,
however, it does show Julian s thoughts during the story. The third person narrator focuses on Julian,
his mother, and their relationship which is a parasitic relationship [that] establishes the prototype for
parent and child figures (Winn 192). Julian, despite being an adult, still lives with his mother and has a
childlike attachment to her. His mother has a deep connection of her identity with the intergenerational

lower class than her. Her signs of disgust are shown when she tells Julian of her Grandfather s
plantation after an African American man enters the bus with a newspaper. When the man sits down
and reads, the mother exclaims to Julian that Now you see why I won t ride on these buses by myself
(O Connor 452). She does feel sorry for. . . the ones that are half white (O Connor 449), because they
have no place to belong in society. She does get annoyed by her son s behavior when he loosens his tie
and asks the African American man for a match. Julian s mother does have hope for Julian that he will

focused on her past that she can t comprehend that depth to which its loss has affected her, and she
repeats the narrative in order to re establish the historical boundaries of her identity (Williamson 751).
The narrator shows that she adores young African American children, even though, her son tries to

TFSA Vs Rrsp Essay
A RRSP is a Registered Retirement Savings Plan that is an account set up to save for retirement
whereas a TFSA is a Tax Free Savings Account that is set up for any type of savings goal. They both
differ in their own ways however, both offer tax advantages to help one reach their savings goals.
First, in order to make contributions to a RRSP one needs earned income on the other hand for a TFSA
one does not. Also, another key difference between the two plans are that RRSP contributions are tax
deductible as you can deduct your contribution from the income you report on the tax return. A TFSA
is the exact inverse, as you cannot deduct your contribution on your tax return. Furthermore, when it
comes to withdrawals, both of the plans are opposite once again as TFSA withdrawals are tax free and
RRSP withdrawals aren t tax free. Also another difference would be the age limit for making
contributions, with a RRSP one has to stop making contributions at the age of 71, whereas in a TFSA
there is no age restriction, one could make contributions for how ever long they want. ... Show more

Now when it comes to choosing one plan and making the most from it, it depends on a few key factors
including tax situations, when your planning on taking out the money, and individual circumstances.
The best path would be to contribute to both, but most citizens can t afford that. The way I look at it,
RRSP is more long term (10 years or more), and TFSA is more short term (1 10 years). If the client is
a young adult and is saving for an investment within the next 10 years, the client should invest in a
TFSA. If the client however is older, someone who maybe is a full adult, perhaps over the age of 28
should look to invest in a RRSP, as that person will need money once he or she has retired. Plus, if the
person is being taxed heavily, its always good to get that

kid at a blah blah blah angle, he ll collapse and I ll get four points , he had actually figured out math in
a way he would definitely remember. Abe grinds every day, long practices, sore arms, and having to

What Are The Social Attitudes In The Perks Of Being A...
Stephen Chbosky s The Perks of Being a Wallflower shows some very progressive views relating to
our current social attitudes. Knowing that he is an advocate for LGBT rights, I can understand why he
is writing about the events that he does. He can use the element of time to his advantage as well by
showing the exact time because each letter in the book starts with a date. Readers are able to gather
precisely what part of his life we are experiencing in the story. The author also grows antagonists that
aren t necessarily palpable, as I believe it is either Charlie s own subconscious or the mostly ignorant
society he lives in. Stephen Chbosky is an avid supporter of LGBT people s rights and respect. You
can see his own opinions on matters like this one in his book. Charlie s best friend, Patrick, is gay and
in his school, especially by the football players, that is not socially acceptable. When Charlie walks in
on Patrick and Brad, a member of the football team, making out in a closet at a party the problem
starts to get addressed in the novel. We learn that Brad wants to hide his relationship with Patrick

The War And Plato s Symposium, And The Man Discussed
In two very different works we see two equally different portrayals of the same man; these differences
are informed by the author s purpose, the genre of the work, and the effects of the depiction upon the
rest of the specific work. These works are of course Thucydides , The History of the Peloponnesian
War and Plato s Symposium, and the man discussed is the Athenian giant, Alcibiades of the
Alcmaeonidae. The authors, of course, have their own aims and reasons for writing their works, Plato,
writing an allegory on love likely to defend his teacher Socrates, and Thucydides, to inform on what
he believes to be the most significant war in history. The genres of the works being philosophy and
history respectively also affects the rhetoric of Alcibiades speech; as well as his greater portrayals in
the works. It is important to note the differences in the depictions as they are significant not only to
understanding the literary merit of the works, but also furthering the knowledge with respect to the
author s motives and the state of higher opinion on a maverick of a man in the late 5th and early 4th
Centuries BC in Athens. The first significant variance one must note between the author s works is the
rhetoric and aims of the speeches Alcibiades makes in the two works. In Plato s Symposium all the

This castle was originally built for troop protection for the Imperial army of the Holy Roman Empire.

Al 1050 English Essay
In AL 1050 Languages in the Pacific I have learned many different concepts that has to do with the
Pacific Rim. It all has to do with languages and how each island or country speaks their own tongue,
but all are similar in some way. In class I have examined historical and contemporary language use
throughout the Pacific Basin, as well as in Hawai`i. Through exploring topics such as the effects of
language contact, pidgins and creoles, and stories of language loss and preservation, and different
cultures. The first concept I am going to talk about is language borrowing. Language borrowing is
basically when you loan a word that is imported into a certain language called loan form. These forms
now function in the grammatical processes, with nouns taking plural or possessive forms of the new
language receiving native morphemes. An example would be the English word alligator. Alligator
came from the Spanish which is el largato. El largato in Spanish means lizard. Loanshift another
process that occurs also known as calque is when adapting native words to the new meanings. The
verb bad mouth . . . is a calque or loan translation: it seems to come from Vai day ngatmay (a curse;
literally, a bad mouth ). The second concept I am going to talk about is language endangerment.
Language endangerment is basically when the language is at risk of becoming extinct in the near
future. Every language face a different level of threat. There are many different levels of
endangerment which

depersonalization of this population. There are approximately 235,000 people, in Canada a year, who
identify as homeless or acknowledged their position in life as homeless. 35,000 people, in Canada, are
homeless on any given night. This statistic is not just of white, men, (which seem to be the

the community around them. This project will be an event taking place across the span of a month and

these locations. Not only will this open the public s eyes to the problem, but would also give them an
easy means to help by donating their time and money to a very worthy cause. This would allow for

Democracy Is Better Than A Democracy
Being part of a democracy means that the majority will prevail over the minority with no written
constitution or rules to keep the minority from being over powered. Where as a republic has a written
constitution for rules that are used to keep the majority from overpowering the minority. Just defining
these two words one can say being apart of a republic seems more fair than a democracy, since there
are rules that everyone must follow to keep everything fair and just. In this day in age it just seems
that the rules are pushed aside and either party that is in charge can just do as they please. If our way
of life were actually followed by the constitution I am all for being a republic. But we all know that it
isn t something that is followed all the time no matter what. So let s find out which one is better than
the two a democracy or a republic. So we know from above that a democracy is run by the majority,
that means if the majority likes it then it will be followed by all. If the majority does not agree with it
then it will be taken away just as easily as it was given. In a democracy all people are allowed to take
a vote on laws that will govern them. It is like asking your family if they want fish or chicken for

is a minority does not have the power to practice their religion of choice, dress, way of living or many

Camera technology has been a key factor that has influenced the growth of filmmaking. The first

Digital technology has erased the boundaries and offered new opportunities for shooting films.
Shooting with digital cameras tends to be easier as filmmakers can shoot more scenes in less time.
Often, multiple digital cameras can be used on the same shot but in different angles which assists in
reducing the number of retakes. Digital shooting allows filmmakers to shoot multiple takes and in
different angles at fewer costs (Murray, 2012). With new steady camera equipment, the footage shot is
more precise and intimate. This enhances the audience experience as the camera view is authentic.
Also, the cameras save time wasted on reshooting the same scene.
IT has also changed the way movies are shot particularly through application of film special effects.
The film industry heavily relies on illusions to simulate imaginary events in a story (McClean, 2007).
Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) is another key technology that is applied to special effects to
enhance films. CGI is mainly used in special effects to enable filmmakers to control the scenes instead
of using many extra actors. This has simplified film production and reduced the costs incurred. A lot
of movies especially those classified under fiction, action, and horror genres rely on CGI.
Post Production
Previously, editing used to be a challenge for most filmmakers. Often, they relied on manual methods
when filming to add effects to the films. Incorporating visual effects to the film was a demanding task

Dynamical Systems Theory
In addition to using various information to provide augmented information about performance during
competition and practice, a significant task for sport performance analysts is to identify and measure
key performance variables that are statistically associated with successful sports performance
outcomes. This unfortunately promotes rudimentary understanding of sports performance and
provides little information about the underlying behaviors that produce these outcomes (McGarry,
2009). In recognition of this issue, the constraints based framework was outlined to serve as an
alternative process oriented approach to sports performance analysis (Glazier, 2010). To reiterate the
purpose of this literature review, the dynamical systems theory explains ... Show more content on

From this new perspective, variability of performance has been viewed as more functional, since a
consistent outcome can be achieved by a different patterns of joint relations owing to the dynamics of
the joint biomechanical degrees of freedom (DOF). A feature of a chaotic system, like that of a high
speed game in which ACL injuries occur, is that deterministic processes can drive fluctuations in
system and motor output that might seem random. Noise may have a positive role in preventing a
system from becoming too stable in complex environments so that functional movement solutions
may be found during exploratory behavior of athletes during that specific time prior to injury in an
effort to prevent injury. The fundamental problem for movement systems is the process of mastering
the redundant degrees of freedom. Degrees of freedom, coined by Nikolai Bernstein, refers to the
biomechanical DOF that exceed the minimum number required to successfully accomplish any given
motor task (Vereijken et al. 1992). In other words, they are the number of independent coordinates
required to uniquely describe the configuration of a system, providing flexibility and security in
adapting to changing environmental conditions. As our motor system develops, humans rigidly and
spastically fix joint

The Structure Of An Organization
INTRODUCTION: The structure of an organisation is built in order to achieve the distinct tasks by
the labour and coordination between teams to provide goods and services. Organisational structure is
selected in order to have a basic work and consistency according to the situation. The most foremost
factors in an organisation are skilled labours, mutual understanding among the fellows and direct
control to frame a good result. A good structured organisation results in quality production, which can
be taken into peoples consider through marketing. When an organisation tracks in a solid structure,
management plans and tasks can be easily constructed and executed. In this essay, I have been
explained about the concept of Mintzberg five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Direct supervision includes decision making, delivering task, observing and encouraging the
employees. The major factors for managers in this structure is to complete the activities in time,
contacts and agreement deal with higher officials and passing information to employees which makes
more strengthen to the organisation.
THE MIDDLE LINE: As an organisation grows bigger it requires more than one manager to control
the operators. Middle line managers add strategic apex managers into the operating core with proper
authority. In broad, one set of managers directs the operators for the basic unit and another set of
managers takes charge to convert it to the higher level unit. Hence, these units come under one
manager to form an organisation. Middle line managers observe the performance of the same unit and
they produce the feedback to the managers above them.
THE TECHNOSTRUCTURE:
In technostructure, staff is analysing the operators who get affected by others works and serving those
with planning and training with standardizations in the organisation. The analyst can be divided into
three main parts. Firstly, a work study analyst who regulates the work process; secondly is planning
and control analyst who controls the accounts with production unit and finally, personnel analyst to
standardize skills which occurs outside the organisation.
THE SUPPORT STAFF: Staff under this structure make up

The Longest Running Fued is the Sunni and Shia Conflict
The Sunni and Shia conflict is currently the longest running feud in the world. Both groups possess an
extreme hatred for one another. Over the years, these two groups have openly expressed their hatred
with one another through violent killings. This split between the Shia and Sunni originates all the way
back in the 7th century. Their difference was based on political differences. As a part of my essay I
will explain the difference and origins of the split between the Shi a and Sunni and also cover the
current issues between them.
I have always assumed that the Sunni and Shia conflict is similar to the war between the Catholic and
Protestant, however it is much more complex and different. These two branches of Islam share the
same Holy Book and all agree that Allah is there God. Sunni and Shia both believe that the last
prophet was Muhammad. However, when Muhammad died, there was a disagreement of who would
be Muhammad s successor. There were two candidates to be the successor of Muhammad, Abu Bakr
and Ali bin Abi Talib. Ali bin Abi Talib was Muhammad s cousin and son in law. Abu Bakr was
Muhammad s friend and senior companion. The Sunni Muslims believed that the leadership should be
granted to the person with most experience. On the other hand, the Shi a believed the decision should
be based purely through Muhammad s bloodline. The majority of Muslim ended up choosing Abu
Bakr to be the Caliph (successor). However, Abu Bakr s rule was shortlived when he died in 634 CE.

Smart Enough Women
In part I of the psychology in media project I reviewed the article Why Young Girls Don t Think They
are Smart Enough written by Sarah Jane Leslie and Andrei Cimpain. The authors of this article
explored the psychological research they conducted along with Lin Bian which is aimed at
discovering the underlying cause for the disparities between men and women across academic
disciplines. In the media article published in the New York Times the authors concluded that
stereotypes are mainly to blame for these disparities. They also noted that these social stereotypes start
affecting girls as young as the age of six, and that the shift in thought is drastic. In a more formal
report which they published in Science Magazine, through a set of ... Show more content on

The writers do also state alternatives for the results of studies one to four, among them that boys are
held back which may inflate confidence and women s modesty norms. They also give reason for why
these alternatives are not possible. The writers omit writing about the alternatives all together in the
media article. All in all, I believe that both works are very well written informative pieces. Both are
concise, easy to read, and very get to the point. The main difference is that the media article pushes a
call to action by stating suggesting methods in which we can change how this brilliance=males
stereotype is affecting young girls. This is definitely an understandable difference due to the fact that
the media article is directed towards the general public, while the science journal is mostly directed
towards the scientific community. I believe that the writers did a fantastic job in the NY times article,
however I believe that the article would have benefitted from using more real life anecdotes to show
the extent to which this brilliance=males stereotype can affect women. Altogether, I strongly agree
with both the media article and the scientific journal, something has to be done about this

I think they re the same as from the book because of coloring, mainly in black and white. The difference between these photographs in Harrison s gallery and from the text book are the sizes of the photos, clothing on portraits and prints. Each individual photograph has its own size and printing process. Which photographers are familiar, which are new? Although most photographers titled their photographs, it s a lot more fun to be creative as was she/he when they took that photo and thought of its name. What does the imagery say about the photographer? I think that the photographs that the photographers took really tells a lot about him/herself. There were pictures such as flowers, kids, waterfalls and forest. To me, that tells me that he/she must be a very calming and soft hearted person. There were also photographs of people, parks and athletes (Mn Twin baseball) which also tells me that this photographer was a social person who enjoy sports, a good walk in the park and socializing with people. What do the photographs say about the area and the era in which these photographs were created? Photographs taken in the older days from 1990 s were a lot colorless, blind and lacks facial expression. Which is understandable because photography was invented shortly before that time frame compare to now where most photographs are in color, are bigger in size and has different printing ... • 3. Psychoanalytic Analysis of Shakespeare s Hamlet If one wants to truly understand the psychological implications of William Shakespeare s Hamlet, the primary focus should be on the character Hamlet, and how he develops and modifies throughout the play. Using the fundamentals of the psychoanalytic perspective of critical evaluation, one would be able to truly identify and explore the true nature of Hamlet, and the effects that his character has on the situation surrounding him. In order to gain a true understanding of most of the detail that is implied through Hamlet s way of portraying himself to others, it is vital to look deep into the actions that are carried out, and analyze them psychoanalytically. Many have already written works that evaluate the play using this method, and one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the appearance of the ghost the reader is, whether they realize it or not, being challenged to take a position on Hamlet s state of mind. At first the reader may take it at face value assuming that a ghost is a ghost and should be accepted as such. But after a deeper look using the psychoanalytic perspective of critical evaluation, it becomes believable that the ghost is just a trick of Hamlet s mind used to justify his urges to avenge his father s death, a sort of madness. It is hard to decide what to think about Shakespeare s introduction of the ghost because of the two different ways he portrays it. Hamlet is not the first one to see the ghost, Marcellus and Bernardo were. The next night it appeared to Horatio as well. It was only after its first two appearances that Hamlet got a chance to see the ghost. At this point the reader doesn t have much of a choice but to take the ghost at face value. If several characters saw the ghost there must really be a ghost. It s not until Hamlet s second encounter with the ghost that the reader is asked to decide whether they buy into the idea of the ghost being real. On March 28, 1970 President Richard Nixon signed the Veterans Education and Training Amendments Act (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The act introduced two new provisions. The first introduced a rate increase of 34.6% (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The second, eliminated most duplication prohibitions (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The G.I. Bill would again be modified in July of 1985 and adopting the name of its Alabama representative sponsor Sonny Montgomery (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1008). The most recent of amendments to the G.I. • 5. Millipedes Lab Report 1. a. Soil is one abiotic variable that would explain why the millipedes are found more frequently under logs. The soil could contain essential nutrients to the millipedes. Another abiotic factor could be the darkness provided under the logs. Millipedes can take shelter under the logs and avoid light. Predation is a biotic factor that also explains why millipedes are plentiful under logs. The logs millipedes hide under provide a place for millipedes to take cover from possible predators. b. Millipedes take shelter under logs to escape light and heat. In order to prove this we need to conduct an experiment. Place two different groups of millipedes each into their own container. Put some soil and a log into each container. Take the first container and place a bright heat lamp over the millipedes. Leave the second container alone. Record how many millipedes are under the log for each group. If the hypothesis is true and millipedes take shelter to avoid light and heat, then more millipedes will be under the log in the first group. c. • 7. American Culture Vs Canada Culture Canada s culture is in many ways very similar to culture in the United States. This in part due to the proximity the two countries are to one another. However, despite their similarities, there are some very distinct differences. Many Americans have several misconceptions about the large country to the north, which are largely out of ignorance and lack of insight. Thus, it is important to understand that Canada has its own unique history, characteristics, holidays and demographics. The name Canada is derived from the word Kanata which translates to Village in the Iroquois language. The country of Canada is so large it surpasses the United States in size in terms of land mass, even when Alaska and Hawaii are included (Drozdow, n.d.). Canadas large land mass consists of ten Provinces and three Territories, with its Capital City of Ottawa sitting in the Province of Ontario (Jasuja, Sehgal, Gartman July 2017). Canada is a geographically vast country that has enormous regional differences that include climate, population, language, and culture (Drozdow, n.d.). The population of Canada is over 35 Million, while the population of the United States is over 321 million. Both countries religious majority is approximately Seventy percent Christian (Jasuja, Sehgal, Gartman July 2017). • 9. Synopsis Of The Novel Train On Pakistan By Khushwant... The well known novel Train to Pakistan initiates study on theme of partition. This story opens the phase of political hatred, violence and sectarianism in a brilliant and realistic way. Related to those decisive or fateful days, which were brought by the British Raj followed by destruction, death and deracination for the north of the subcontinent; Khushwant Singh refers to the fact that India might have gained independence then, but the price they paid for it was Partition . The strength and the power of unity were deliberately divided between the two nations. It depicts the pitiful tale of individuals and communities suffered in the revolution of Partition. Tran to Pakistan illustrates the agony suffered on both sides of the political boundaries India and Pakistan after the partition. In general, partition uprooted the whole country and it is described as one of the deadliest experience the natives ever had of leaving their belongings behind and adapting the idea of new land, which was not theirs. The harrowing and spine chilling events of 1947 had shaken the faith of the people in the innate human beings. It had driven them into the state of wonder over what man has made of man. To Khushwant Singh, this was a period of great disillusionment and crisis of values, a distressing and disintegrating period of his life. The belief he had cherished all his life was shattered. This enormous increase is due to the already massive size of the population. Most of this growth will occur in the next three decades. Between 1995 and 2025 Asia s population will grow by 1.35 billion between 2025 and 2050 the increase is projected to be just 658 million. China is the world s largest population, estimated to be around 1.24 billion in 1998. It grows at a rate of 1.3% per year or 44,100 people a day. There are now more people living in China than whole world 150 years ago. The population broke the billion mark in the 1982 census, the results of which provided the justification for the strict one child policy which effectively curbed rapid population growth. In the 1990 census, China counted 1.133 billion people, over the next decades the world population will inevitably age. This is an unavoidable consequence of large birth cohorts during the 1950s and 1960s and the rapid fertility decline since the 1970s. In 2025 the baby boomers of the 1950s and 60s will be between 65 and 75 years of age. These large aging cohorts are followed by the relatively small baby bust generations of the worldwide fertility decline. He was born of Reverend John Wallis and Joanna Chapman in Ashford, Kent, England (O Connor amp; Robertson, 2002). He was the third of five children in his English family, unfortunately losing his father at the very young age of 6. Wallis is known for introducing series systematically in his work and paving the way for his great contemporary, Isaac Newton (Eves, 1990, p.392 393). In this work Wallis also introduced interpolation, which was very common of this time period. In 1657, he published the Mathesis Universalis on algebra, arithmetic, and geometry, further developing notation. He invented and introduced the famous symbol ∞ for infinity, which is still used today. In this work, Wallis was the first to demonstrate the utility of the exponent using negative and fractional exponential notation (Westfall, 1995). Wallis next major work was not published until 1685. His Treatise on Algebra contains an important study of equations that he applied to the properties of conoids, which are almost shaped just like a cone (Westfall, 1995). In this work, Walls accepts negative and complex roots. He shows that a3 7a=6 has exactly three roots and that they are all real (O Connor amp; Robertson, 2002). Wallis also applied algebraic techniques rather than the traditional geometry. Using these new algebraic techniques, he contributed substantially to solving problems involving infinitesimals which are quantities that are almost incalculably small (Westfall, 1995). In this work, Wallis critiqued Descartes Rule of Signs stating correctly that the rule which determines the number of positive and the number of negative roots by inspection, is only valid if all the roots of the equation are real (O Connor amp; Robertson, 2002) which became a highly controversial subject. The image of the long grey fence adorned with nails (Chekhov 1998, p. 371), symbolises the confines of marriage keeping them apart, unable to be free from social restraint. Creating an air of seclusion and limitations, this depiction appears to be fending off Gurov, producing a feeling of entrapment and isolation as it separates their love. The image of an old woman, a beggar and a dog walking in and out of the fence freely further emphasises this lack of freedom they have in their lives; the portrayal of a beggar being the most illuminating aspect of this passage. Even what is considered as the lowest form of humanity, appears to show more freedom then what they can as they cannot pass this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. TFSA Vs Rrsp Essay A RRSP is a Registered Retirement Savings Plan that is an account set up to save for retirement whereas a TFSA is a Tax Free Savings Account that is set up for any type of savings goal. They both differ in their own ways however, both offer tax advantages to help one reach their savings goals. First, in order to make contributions to a RRSP one needs earned income on the other hand for a TFSA one does not. Also, another key difference between the two plans are that RRSP contributions are tax deductible as you can deduct your contribution from the income you report on the tax return. A TFSA is the exact inverse, as you cannot deduct your contribution on your tax return. Furthermore, when it comes to withdrawals, both of the plans are opposite once again as TFSA withdrawals are tax free and RRSP withdrawals aren t tax free. Also another difference would be the age limit for making contributions, with a RRSP one has to stop making contributions at the age of 71, whereas in a TFSA there is no age restriction, one could make contributions for how ever long they want. ... The War And Plato s Symposium, And The Man Discussed In two very different works we see two equally different portrayals of the same man; these differences are informed by the author s purpose, the genre of the work, and the effects of the depiction upon the rest of the specific work. These works are of course Thucydides , The History of the Peloponnesian War and Plato s Symposium, and the man discussed is the Athenian giant, Alcibiades of the Alcmaeonidae. The authors, of course, have their own aims and reasons for writing their works, Plato, writing an allegory on love likely to defend his teacher Socrates, and Thucydides, to inform on what he believes to be the most significant war in history. The genres of the works being philosophy and history respectively also affects the rhetoric of Alcibiades speech; as well as his greater portrayals in the works. The first significant variance one must note between the author s works is the rhetoric and aims of the speeches Alcibiades makes in the two works. It all has to do with languages and how each island or country speaks their own tongue, but all are similar in some way. In class I have examined historical and contemporary language use throughout the Pacific Basin, as well as in Hawai`i. Through exploring topics such as the effects of language contact, pidgins and creoles, and stories of language loss and preservation, and different cultures. The first concept I am going to talk about is language borrowing. Language borrowing is basically when you loan a word that is imported into a certain language called loan form. These forms now function in the grammatical processes, with nouns taking plural or possessive forms of the new language receiving native morphemes. An example would be the English word alligator. Alligator came from the Spanish which is el largato. El largato in Spanish means lizard. Loanshift another process that occurs also known as calque is when adapting native words to the new meanings. The verb bad mouth . . . is a calque or loan translation: it seems to come from Vai day ngatmay (a curse; literally, a bad mouth ). The second concept I am going to talk about is language endangerment. Language endangerment is basically when the language is at risk of becoming extinct in the near future. Every language face a different level of threat. There are many different levels of endangerment which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Digital technology has erased the boundaries and offered new opportunities for shooting films. Shooting with digital cameras tends to be easier as filmmakers can shoot more scenes in less time. Often, multiple digital cameras can be used on the same shot but in different angles which assists in reducing the number of retakes. Digital shooting allows filmmakers to shoot multiple takes and in different angles at fewer costs (Murray, 2012). With new steady camera equipment, the footage shot is more precise and intimate. Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) is another key technology that is applied to special effects to enhance films. CGI is mainly used in special effects to enable filmmakers to control the scenes instead of using many extra actors. This has simplified film production and reduced the costs incurred. From this new perspective, variability of performance has been viewed as more functional, since a consistent outcome can be achieved by a different patterns of joint relations owing to the dynamics of the joint biomechanical degrees of freedom (DOF). A feature of a chaotic system, like that of a high speed game in which ACL injuries occur, is that deterministic processes can drive fluctuations in system and motor output that might seem random. Noise may have a positive role in preventing a system from becoming too stable in complex environments so that functional movement solutions may be found during exploratory behavior of athletes during that specific time prior to injury in an effort to prevent injury. The fundamental problem for movement systems is the process of mastering the redundant degrees of freedom. Degrees of freedom, coined by Nikolai Bernstein, refers to the biomechanical DOF that exceed the minimum number required to successfully accomplish any given motor task (Vereijken et al. 1992). In other words, they are the number of independent coordinates required to uniquely describe the configuration of a system, providing flexibility and security in adapting to changing environmental conditions. As our motor system develops, humans rigidly and spastically fix joint ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Structure Of An Organization INTRODUCTION: The structure of an organisation is built in order to achieve the distinct tasks by the labour and coordination between teams to provide goods and services. Organisational structure is selected in order to have a basic work and consistency according to the situation. The most foremost factors in an organisation are skilled labours, mutual understanding among the fellows and direct control to frame a good result. A good structured organisation results in quality production, which can be taken into peoples consider through marketing. When an organisation tracks in a solid structure, management plans and tasks can be easily constructed and executed. In this essay, I have been explained about the concept of Mintzberg five ... The major factors for managers in this structure is to complete the activities in time, contacts and agreement deal with higher officials and passing information to employees which makes more strengthen to the organisation. THE MIDDLE LINE: As an organisation grows bigger it requires more than one manager to control the operators. Middle line managers add strategic apex managers into the operating core with proper authority. In broad, one set of managers directs the operators for the basic unit and another set of managers takes charge to convert it to the higher level unit. Hence, these units come under one manager to form an organisation. Middle line managers observe the performance of the same unit and they produce the feedback to the managers above them. THE TECHNOSTRUCTURE: In technostructure, staff is analysing the operators who get affected by others works and serving those with planning and training with standardizations in the organisation. The analyst can be divided into three main parts. Firstly, a work study analyst who regulates the work process; secondly is planning and control analyst who controls the accounts with production unit and finally, personnel analyst to standardize skills which occurs outside the organisation. THE SUPPORT STAFF: Staff under this structure make up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Longest Running Fued is the Sunni and Shia Conflict The Sunni and Shia conflict is currently the longest running feud in the world. Both groups possess an extreme hatred for one another. Over the years, these two groups have openly expressed their hatred with one another through violent killings. This split between the Shia and Sunni originates all the way back in the 7th century. Their difference was based on political differences. As a part of my essay I will explain the difference and origins of the split between the Shi a and Sunni and also cover the current issues between them. I have always assumed that the Sunni and Shia conflict is similar to the war between the Catholic and Protestant, however it is much more complex and different. These two branches of Islam share the same Holy Book and all agree that Allah is there God. Sunni and Shia both believe that the last prophet was Muhammad. However, when Muhammad died, there was a disagreement of who would be Muhammad s successor. There were two candidates to be the successor of Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Ali bin Abi Talib. Ali bin Abi Talib was Muhammad s cousin and son in law. Abu Bakr was Muhammad s friend and senior companion. The Sunni Muslims believed that the leadership should be granted to the person with most experience. On the other hand, the Shi a believed the decision should be based purely through Muhammad s bloodline. The majority of Muslim ended up choosing Abu Bakr to be the Caliph (successor). However, Abu Bakr s rule was shortlived when he died in 634 CE. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The authors of this article explored the psychological research they conducted along with Lin Bian which is aimed at discovering the underlying cause for the disparities between men and women across academic disciplines. In the media article published in the New York Times the authors concluded that stereotypes are mainly to blame for these disparities. They also noted that these social stereotypes start affecting girls as young as the age of six, and that the shift in thought is drastic. In a more formal report which they published in Science Magazine, through a set of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The writers do also state alternatives for the results of studies one to four, among them that boys are held back which may inflate confidence and women s modesty norms. They also give reason for why these alternatives are not possible. The writers omit writing about the alternatives all together in the media article. All in all, I believe that both works are very well written informative pieces. Both are concise, easy to read, and very get to the point. The main difference is that the media article pushes a call to action by stating suggesting methods in which we can change how this brilliance=males stereotype is affecting young girls. This is definitely an understandable difference due to the fact that the media article is directed towards the general public, while the science journal is mostly directed towards the scientific community. I believe that the writers did a fantastic job in the NY times article, however I believe that the article would have benefitted from using more real life anecdotes to show the extent to which this brilliance=males stereotype can affect women. Altogether, I strongly agree with both the media article and the scientific journal, something has to be done about this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
