Evidence of Dissociative Identity Disorder in Fight Club
In the movie Fight Club we are introduced to an average, white collared, middle aged man who is
seemingly normal at first glance. However, it is clear that the narrator suffers from insomnia, anxiety,
and depression very early in the film. The narrator attempts to combat these symptoms in a number of
ways, however, the only way that he has found to be effective is by attending support groups on a
nightly basis.
The narrator soon creates an alter ego (though we do not know he is his alter ego until the end of the
film) named Tyler Durden. Durden is more attractive, has a better physique, and is overall more
confident than the narrator and Durden regularly takes control of the narrator without the narrator s
knowledge to carry out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is more, the narrator flagrantly engages in impulsive, irresponsible, risk taking behaviors that
place him and the general public in danger. According to Sadock Sadock(2007) dissociative identity
disorder commonly presents with many of the same symptoms that plague the narrator in stating,
affect modulation is frequently disturbed, giving rise to mood swings, depression, suicidal tendency,
and generalized irritability. Impulse control is often impaired, leading to risk taking, substance abuse,
and inappropriate or self destructive behaviors. High levels of anxiety and panic are common (p. 672).
Based on all of the narrator s symptoms it is clear that the narrator fits the diagnostic criteria for
dissociative identity disorder not otherwise specified. The diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder
requires the individual to have two separate personalities or identities that take control of the
individual. In this specific case, the narrator only suffers from one separate identity taking control and
therefore he does not meet the criteria for dissociative identity disorder. The DSM IV TR supports
diagnosing the narrator with

Cause And Consequences Of Homelessness In The United States
Homelessness As I drove through the streets of New Orleans I constantly see homeless people
sleeping in tents under the overpass on Claiborne Avenue commonly named tent city . I wondered
what were the psychological reasons of those that ended up homeless, the statistics, causes, and
consequences of homelessness combined with the effect it has on society. There are various reasons
that homelessness exists in the United States, the most common reason is due to a lack of affordable
housing. Homelessness is more predominant in urban areas than in rural regions of the U.S. According
to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, approximately 578,424 people were identified
as homeless in the United States as of January 2014. Homelessness ... Show more content on

These sudden and unfortunate events displaced millions of people and led to an even larger increase in
the homeless population. The Great Depression in 1929 was another catastrophic event in American
history that led to major economic hardships for millions of citizens that further propelled
homelessness. Although these historical events are from the past the residual effects are impacting the
U.S. society and culture today. Slavery was a part of the United States since the beginning of the
American Revolution, which placed a racial division between the whites and blacks. Although slavery
was abolished during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln, the effects of racism lingered continuously
and are sadly still affecting many African Americans today in certain ways. After World War II,
America improved greatly; in terms of economic wealth. This was a time of financial prosperity and
innovative technological advancements. Caucasians in America benefitted greatly from the country s
newfound wealth; however African Americans were not so lucky. They found themselves segregated
from the whites and prohibited from certain rights. Some of these rights involved housing and
employment opportunities. While the Caucasians in the U.S. had access to their preferred employment
and housing, African Americans and other minorities were not granted these same rights.

Beltway Sniper Murders
The beltway sniper was a shooting spree that occurred in different areas throughout Washington DC,
the Metropolitan area, and Virginia, in October, 2002. It was a two men rampage committed by John
Allen Muhammad, who was the leader of the attacks, and his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo. An
interesting fact is that Malvo was only 17 years old when he participated in the three week reign of
terror. They did not have a specific objective because random civilians were shot and killed during
three weeks. There was a total of ten deaths, and three more critically wounded. They were also
connected with seven more deaths and three people injured in previous crimes. First, their main goal
was to take down Muhammad s ex wife. By killing people at random, the ex wife s murder would look
like just another tragic death in the sniper s killing list. Fortunately, for the ex wife, Muhammed was
unable to reach his goal and she was not killed or injured by him.
Their base of operations was a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan. The car was used as a rolling sniper s
nest. It was the perfect component for their evil and horrific plan because it was an effective getaway.
They prepared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Police s lack of evidence made the investigation harder and the hints received did not contributed in
accelerating the process. The only evidence at first was a death card . Also, people started to give
misleading statements that they saw the murderer escaped in a white van. A guy was arrested for
giving false information to the police by saying that he saw the sniper escaped in a white van with one
tail light broken. Going back to the phone call, the sniper mentioned an unsolvable murder committed
in Alabama. It was a liquor store robbery and it was the place where investigators found the first major
evidence to show the murderer s identity; a fingerprint of Lee Boyd Malvo, which later led to his
guardian, John Allen

Dementia Issues
Older people are said to be a vulnerable group in society and it is notable that those with dementia are
at a significant increase torisk of abuse, (see Manthorpe, et al 2005). The author of this paper spent her
placement in an adult social work team for a local authority, for people age 65 years and over. It soon
became apparent that different types of dementia seemed to permeate the caseload. The cases were
initially referred to social services due to challenges faced by a person to maintain daily living tasks
after a fall and hospital admission for example. Fundamentally, the majority of cases were people with
a form of dementia, and each case was as complicated as the next. In order to highlight not only the

Dementia is a term used for a variety of symptoms caused when brain cells stop working correctly
with a cognitive functioning decline, (Alzheimer s disease International, 2012). Some types of
dementia include; Alzheimer s disease, Vascular dementia, frontal temporal dementia and Parkinson s
disease and Lewy body dementia, (Alzheimer s research, UK; Banerjee et al, 2007; Weiner Lipton
2009). One in three people who die after the age of 65 are found to have dementia, and of those, two
in three are female, (Department of Health, DoH, 2015). Some of the symptoms associated with
dementia include, increased difficulties in communication, action and response, changes in awareness,
attention and judgment, and visual spatial difficulties, (Alzheimer s research, UK, 2017). Data
collection states that dementia is expected to increase to 131.5 million worldwide by 2050 from the
current 46.8 million, (Alzheimer s Disease International, 2015). Furthermore, the DoH, (2015), report
that in the UK there are currently 850,000 over the age of 65 and a further 45,000 under the age of 65
living with dementia, and 69% of all people living in care homes have dementia. Elder abuse is

The South Beach And The Beach Diet
The South Beach diet The South Beach diet originated from Miami, Florida, by an American
cardiologist called Dr. Arthur Agatston. During the diet, the South Beach diet emphasizes the
consumption of high quality carbohydrates such as: whole grains and fruits and high quality fats such
as: low fat cheese and skim milk. In contrast, it eliminates dire carbohydrates such as potatoes and dire
fats such as: bacon, butter, and cream. This allows people the luxury of several high energy foods that
contain good carbohydrates and good fats, whilst eliminating cravings and keeping taste buds
satisfied. This diet has three phases. Phase 1 is designed to stabilize your blood sugar levels and

If you find yourself getting off track or if cravings return, you can go back to Phase 1 or 2 to maintain
your goal weight. You ll continue to maintain your weight and healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life
(Agaston, n.d.). As a whole, the South Beach diet food selection is low in carbohydrates and low in
fat. It teaches dieters the right carbohydrates (whole grains and fruit) and right fats (extra virgin olive
oil, canola oil and avocados) to eat. By following this diet the person will begin to lose between 4 6
kilograms, within the first two (2) weeks (Phase one). The diet suggests starting off having three
balanced meals a day which can contain foods of normal serving size such as meat, chicken, turkey,
fish, vegetables, eggs, cheese and nuts. These listed foods are mainly protein and diary based, which
contain low sugars and salt. By initially eliminating all sugary carbohydrates like cereals, grains and
fruits, the body will lower blood sugar levels, and begin to burn excess fat instead, causing weight
loss. Analysis of the diet against its ability to meet the Australian Dietary Guidelines According to the
Department of Health and Ageing (2011) The Australian Dietary Guideline (ADG) 2: Enjoy a wide
variety of nutritious foods from the five groups every day , carbohydrates being one of the major food
groups. In Phase 1, the South Beach diet is initially strict as it cuts off

Media And Aggression Essay
Hypothesis: The experiment aims to see if violent media has an effect on aggression in adolescent
youth. The study hypothesizes that children specifically the experimental group those exposed to
violent media will be more aggressive than those who weren t exposed to violent media.
1. The independent variable in the experiment was violent media specifically video games.
2. The dependent variable in the experiment was aggression.
3. After recent violent shooting such as the Sandy Hook massacre, there has continued to be growing
concern about violent media and its effect on youth. The research topic was chosen because we want
to see if there is a link between aggression and violent media. We are primarily interested in if a
person specifically and adolescent becomes more violent after watching, reading, or playing violent
media.

experiment is short term and fast paced and as such cannot be used to explain long term effects on
aggression. We have to also be mindful of the potential physical and psychological harm the children
may face. For example, some of the children might not have ever played a violent video game and
doing so could cause some psychological harm. Children are a protected population so we will need to
make sure that they are as safe as possible.

the kids view their behavior and whether they thought it was aggressive or

Do People Respond To Incentives
Do people respond to incentives? What is your opinion?
People respond to incentives (Mankiw). An incentive is something that encourages a person to do
something or work harder (Incentive). It says right in the definition that it is motivating. Since people
make decisions by comparing costs and benefits (Mankiw), when there is an incentive, or larger
benefit, they will make a different choice. When people are shopping at grocery stores and two brands
of cereal are the same price but one includes a prize inside, this prize acts as an incentive for the
customer to buy that brand of cereal. Any time a benefit is available, the chances of that option being
chosen increases. Why would restaurants like McDonalds and Burger King provide

Persuasive Essay On Money For Sports
In the 1900 s people had to attend the games of a sport to see what is happening. These days, people
can just turn on the TV and watch the full game for free. By letting the public watch and listen to
sports games for free, they are able to grow in popularity and become well known. Once they are well
known, people will want to watch that athlete and buy his merchandise such as jerseys, as well as
other things with that player s name or number on them. This is encouraging people to spend money
on clothes and items, which is gaining money for the players and teams. Since the MLB established its
Advanced Media site in 2000, it generated 380 million dollars by 2007 and continues to grow at about
30% a year. They are getting 380 million more dollars that they did without technology, even without
adding in the merchandise revenue. When people attend sporting events they are able to watch the
game as well as watch the big screen to see replays and certain person who are playing. People can
buy MLB tickets online and have them shipped to them in the mail. They are able to get them checked
at the front gate by employees with electronic scanners and allowed into the game (Schindel). Sports
teams can create web pages to help promote their team. On their web page, people can view them
freely, purchase items, and look at upcoming events. When someone purchases an item, the money
goes to the players and the company. Once they buy an item, they wear the item around and it helps

Mountain Dew became popular because of the stock car racing circuit known as NASCAR. During

Also another opportunity is to come up with a new target market to reach new consumers. The number
one threat is the innovation of new drink categories that is stealing away market share from Mountain
Dew. Not being able tot stay competitive in this category can make or break a company. I think that
the major competitors of Mountain Dew are faced with this same issue. I m sure they are coming up
with new ideas to compete with the new products and drink categories.
Target Market Coming up with a target market that is consistent with Mountain Dew varies from
decade to decade. Each Decade brings new cultural trend. Mountain Dew has done an excellent job at
keeping up with these trends and targeting consumers that make their product something they can
relate too. Right now Mountain Dew s target market is male teens 18 years of age. Also trying to keep
the brand appealing and create a cross over appeal among the 20 39 year old males. The type of buyer
that Mountain Dew is targeting is one who has an exhilarating lifestyle and associated with extreme
sports. The characteristics of this buyer would be a male in his teens that wants to fit in and be
associated with sports. Also this buyer wants to make you think he lives life on the edge and drinks
carbonated soft drinks for energy. Mountain Dew s marketing mix is strong due to the continual

Child Labor During The United States
Statement of the problem: Many of the products that are used and consumed in the United States are
made in other countries. One of the main reasons for multinational corporations to produce goods in
countries other than the United States is the cost of production. It is far cheaper to produce goods such
as blue jeans, paper goods, and plastic toys to name a few. In recent years the conditions in sweatshops
in China, Japan, and elsewhere have garnered public outcry from Countries like the U.S. and most of
Europe. The main contention, child labor in dangerous and horrid conditions. However one often
overlooked example of child labor in sweatshop like conditions exists were many people never
thought. The chocolate we eat. From 2013 to 2014 more than 1.1 million children in the Ivory Coast
were engaged in the most common Worst Forms of Child Labor as recognized by the United Nations...
up from 791,181 children from 2008 to 2009 (Berman, 2015). The benefactors of this child labor are
huge multinational enterprises such as Nestle, Mars Inc., and The Hershey Co. The children subjected
to the forced labor allegedly used to make Mars, Hershey s and Nestle chocolate are victims of
hazardous work such as that involving dangerous tools, transport of heavy loads and exposure to toxic
substances and the compulsory labor of trafficked children (Berman, 2015). A report commissioned by

The History Of Early Law Enforcement

Law Enforcement
The history of early law enforcement really has been around since ancient times. In these times guards
that worked for the lords of kingdoms were assigned the job of collecting taxes. Though the first real
law enforcement as we see it today goes back to the colonial age in both England and newly found
America. Colonial America followed the the British form of a police organization. This idea was a
sheriff appointed by the governor of a colony, enforced laws, collected taxes and maintained public
property throughout the colony. In the times of these law enforcement efforts many were seen to be
largely inadequate to maintain order. As time went on many things went on to ... Show more content

These levels allow more control because some departments focus on bigger issues in the states where
as smaller local departments will work on smaller issues in their own communities. The amount law
enforcement has evolved over the years has made it more capable and able to deal with the problems
of this new age much different than that of the revolutionary time period. Law enforcement has
evolved because as time went on technologies came along which criminals had access to and crimes
got more creative and complex. For example a rather new crime with modern society and new
technologies brought on is cyberbullying. As the time went on and the law enforcement system
evolved and crimes got more serious and in depth and technologies advanced for both criminals and
police. This is why another important thing changed in law enforcement, the equipment that they
carry. The first law enforcements system in the United States in the pre revolutionary and
revolutionary times was the night watch which was similar to the modern day neighborhood watch.
They didn t wear uniforms or carry guns they mostly just watched out for suspicious activity and made
people aware of anything that went wrong. Then as time went on this equipment wasn t satisfactory
for the new age. This is when many cities start to make law enforcement systems became official by
issuing uniforms and guns many times. This made the law enforcement have a

The Most Important Aspects Of Radical Reconstruction And...
During reconstruction, some 2000 African American held public office, from the local level all the
way up to the US. Senate, though, they never achieved representation in government proportionate to
their numbers. The term Reconstruction Era or Radical Reconstruction in the context of the history of
the United States, has two senses: the first covers the complete history of the entire country from 1861
to 1877 following the Civil War (1861 1865); the second sense focuses on the attempted
transformation of the Southern United States from 1863 to 1877. Also, the period from the end of
World War II until the late 1960s is often referred as the Second Reconstruction. One of the most
important aspects of the Reconstruction 1861 1877 and second reconstruction 1945 1968, was the
active participation of African American community in the political, economic and social life of the

The article Why It Pays to Get Inside the Head of Your Opponent looks at the effects of two social

are studied in this article to determine the possible different effects they each have on the outcome of
negotiations.

Basically, creating a positive atmosphere for the other side making willingness to engage in a
negotiation in the first place more likely in setting a foundation for a positive experience expectation
for future negotiations.
In my opinion, the results in different relationship context would have been interesting to study. For
example, looking at the influences of perspective taking and empathy approaches in intimate
relationships.
I would guess that empathy would be rated higher for the success of negotiation in intimate
relationships.
Perspective taking can be motivated by trying to get the upper hand where as empathy is motivated by
a perspective of equality. Perspective taking only perhaps can be misleading in that it may give the
person the impression that their concern is important to the other person because their concerns are
valued which I think essentially means that they are valued. It would be conflicting if someone valued
another but had no regard for another s values regardless if they held the same values.
Empathy, I think, is sincere, genuine honest approach that fosters trust and effects the ability to have
closer relationships. You can t fake empathy. The other person can sense that fakeness. It is that
genuineness that leads to trust that is a base of intimacy. When we are emotionally

Chemical Reactions And The Chemical Reaction
Introduction
Chemistry is a branch of science commonly defined as the study of the structure, properties, and
reactions of the chemical elements and the compounds they form (The American Heritage Science
Dictionary, 2002). This definition is very general and covers a range of study areas, including those
that are an asset to society. Chemical reactions are studied by many chemists as they common
occurrences in everyday life (Stewart, 2014). Without chemical reactions people would be unable to
perform simple tasks that are essential for quality of life and even life itself, such as cooking, lighting
a match and breathing (Helmenstine, 2015). A chemical reaction occurs when a chemical change takes
place, producing new substances. However, all chemical reactions are different and vary greatly in the
time it takes for them to occur (Chem4kids.com, 2015).
A Reaction rate is the speed it takes for a chemical reaction to occur. That is, how fast a reactant is
used up or a product is formed (BBC, 2014). Rates of reaction are essential in important tasks such are
medicine administration and it is therefore crucial for scientists to understand how they work and what
affects them (Lofts, 2012). The mechanics of reaction rates is based around the theory of collision,
proposed by Max Trautz and William Lewis in the early 1900 s. The theory suggests that reactant
particles must collide for a chemical reaction to occur, the more collisions that occur, the faster the
reaction rate will

Premarital Sex And Its Effects
In a study conducted in the United States, 61 percent of men and 12 percent of women born prior to
1910 admitted to having premarital sex; the gender disparity may have been caused by cultural double
standards regarding the admission of sexual activity. Starting in the 1920s, and especially after World
War II, premarital sex became more common; this was especially prevalent among women. By the end
of the 20th century, between 75 and 80 percent of Americans had sex before the age of 19. During the
colonial period, premarital sex was publicly frowned upon but privately condoned to an extent. Even
though premarital sex was somewhat condoned, having a child outside of wedlock was not. If a
pregnancy resulted from premarital sex, the young couple were expected to marry. Beginning in the
1950s, as premarital sex became more common, the stigma attached to it lessened for many people.
Love began to become enough for a reason to practice sex, instead of marriage or engagement in the
eyes of many. The percentage of ever married men and women who had premarital sex (20 44 years
old) between 2006 and 2010 is 90.6% men and 86% women (www.cdc.gov). A new study of 38.000
Americans has found that 95% had premarital sex (www.truthdig.com). Another statistic says that 3%
of the US population, represents nearly 10.000.000 person, wait until marriage. These 3% wait to

Comparing Hamlet And Ophelia
Tainted Hearts
Insecure love is a love that sees no future. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark Ophelia and
Hamlet s love falls victim to their own insecurities and therefore drastically fails. The relationship that
ensues between Ophelia and Hamlet is complicated and questioned continuously in modern day
analysis of the play. Their relationship proves to be important to the story in many different ways,
including how it affects the characters as individuals throughout the play. Shakespeare s use of
character development, the effects of grief, and an overall theme of insecure love in their relationship
further contributes to the meaning of the play as a whole.
The character developments of Hamlet and Ophelia contrast highly; thereby ... Show more content on

Not one character is confident enough to speak out against or even for their partner or loved ones,
resulting in their disastrous endings. The way Hamlet and Ophelia interact with each other is easily
connected to how they interact with their parents. Hamlet s relationship with his mother is extremely
complicated; almost as much as his relationship with Ophelia. Gertrude is physically harmed by her
son numerous times, and is often highly insulted as well. During their confrontation of Hamlet s
behaviour, Hamlet even states (Hamlet offends mom). This complete negligence for his mother s
feelings perfectly reflects in his relationship with Ophelia. When Ophelia confronts Hamlet of his

mirror image of the previous to his mother, emphasizing his contempt of the women surrounding him.
Hamlet refuses to speak any truth to the characters surrounding him; ultimately destroying them with
himself, taking his relationship with Ophelia down as well. Opposedly, Ophelia and Polonius
relationship is respectful in both ways, yet fragile too. Ophelia is completely compliant to her father
and is even willing to give up Hamlet to affiliate to his needs. Polonius treats Ophelia more as a pet
however than a daughter; either showing her off to the king and queen or baiting her for Hamlet. Both
Polonius and Laertes seem to value her virginity more than herself as a person. This argument can be
easily proven by (Two quotes from Polonius and Laertes about Ophelia staying a virgin). Since this
behaviour is so familiar to Ophelia, it is no wonder why she allows Hamlet to treat her the

Debate Controversy Regarding Free Speech And Hate Speech
Recent events have found UC Berkeley embroiled in controversy regarding Free Speech; debate has
flared over what Free Speech really means, where we draw the line between Free Speech and hate
speech, and what the implications of this are regarding the speakers who have been invited to give
speeches on campus. Protests on Sproul Plaza have been planned by students who feel that these
speakers are espousing hate speech which especially targets marginalized communities on campus and
in our country. To better understand the decisions students are making about whether to attend
protests, Chancellor Christ and myself need to examine and explore two theories of behavior, egoistic
and affective, that will give us insight into how students make ... Show more content on

Using this Rational Choice theory, we can design a flyer that could discourage students from attending
the protests as well as one that could encourage students to attend the protests. In order to discourage
students from attending the protests associated with Free Speech Week and Year, the flyer needs to
appeal to students self interest in staying away from the protests. One way to do this is to highlight the
ineffective nature of the protests themselves and promote alternative methods to advocating for
change. The text on the flyer will say, PROTESTING WILL NOT HELP YOUR CAUSE in the font
Arial Black as shown as it denotes seriousness and the color red will grab the attention of those who
walk by. Following this will be a picture of a standoff between police in riot gear and student
protestors. Underneath this the message on the flyer will say in the font Arial Black and black ink, UC
Berkeley Administration will not tolerate disturbances in day to day campus scheduling, damages to
campus property, or any disruptions during class time. Those who do will find themselves subject to
academic probation by the UC Administration. Following this statement the flyer will say, Consider

Verizon Communications Executive Summary
A Look at Verizon Communications Verizon Communications is one of the largest international
communications companies of providing communication, information and entertainment products and
services to consumers, businesses and governmental agencies. If you wanted to look them up on
NASDAQ or the NYSE, you can use the symbol VZ. Verizon comes from humble beginnings, starting
with an invention in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell, the telephone. They were the predecessor
company to American Telephone and Telegraph Company, which formed with 7 original shareholders
in 1885. Over time, the company became Bell Telephone Company, Bell Atlantic, then in 2000, the
$25 billion dollar merger to Verizon Communications. Over the course of history from then ... Show

The Consequences Of Huck Finn
As certain characters use language as a source of power, others use it to help others. It is these
different motivations that sharpen the image for who has good and bad intentions, allowing differing
consequences to occur. As a result of lying, this leads to conflicting morals and inevitable
consequences that have an impact on everyone else. In the novel Huck Finn Mark Twain argues that
lying is wrong and is a source of power that certain characters use to either help others or themselves;
however, the consequences are different due to these different motivations with characters such as the
King, Duke and Huck who end up having a greater impact on the rest of the community.
Although Huck lies to help others most of the time, his conflicting morals hold him back which results
in a stronger impact than intended. In the beginning of the novel, Huck states, You don t know about
me, without you have read a book by the name of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, but that ain t no
matter. That book was made by Mr. Mark Twain, and he told the truth, mainly. There was things which
he stretched, but mainly he told the truth(Twain 11). Huck is defensive and makes it clear that he is
trustworthy and does not lie, which is not true. Huck questions his morals later on in the novel when
he lies to his father when he says, I hain t got no money. It s a lie. Judge Thatcher s got it. You git it. I
want it. I hain t got no money, I tell you. You ask Judge Thatcher; he ll tell you the

The Security Industry And Its Effect On Its Functional...
In an essay of no less than 750 words, select an element of technology that you believe has
revolutionized the security industry and justify both its effect and its functional operation.
In the last twenty years, the internet has been much the foundation for all technological advances. It
has served as the basis of how humans and devices communicate with each other, and it has allowed
for the proliferation of converging and emerging technologies. Specifically, the security industry has
benefited from the creation of network products thus eliminating the need for human resources. As
inter connectivity is rapidly expanding and evolving, so to are emerging technological trends and their
applicability to the security industry. As it applies to the revolution of cyber technology, the security
industry may choose to view this element through three lenses internet of things (IoT), social
networking and ethical approaches.
The future of digital marketing and business opportunities will see the emergence of mobile, social,
cloud and information, identified as the Nexus of Forces (Gartner press release, 2014, para.7). These
enterprise groups will be looking at more innovative and creative ways in which to reach the
consumer. Mobile devices and social media will therefore become the likely gateways. Digital
business will focus on the convergence of people, things and business (Gartner press release, 2014).
The IoT is set to transform business and industry over the

Film Analysis Of The Film Easy Rider
Easy Rider Analysis America in the 1960 s was a time of turbulence and chaos. A nation divided in the
midst of the counterculture movement that was sparked by a generational split and fueled by the
Vietnam War, America was struggling for change. The New Hollywood took these issues into account
and translated them onscreen. Films of the New Hollywood centered around the protagonist, often
depicting them as an anti hero, who suffered from alienation and conflict within society. In the film
Easy Rider these themes are exemplified through its reinvention of the Western genre. Dennis Hopper
uses this film as a way to convey ideas of the Western by placing into a modern setting that embodies
the feeling of 1960 s America. The Western in Easy Rider is depicted primarily through the conflict
between the rural and urban environments displayed onscreen. Throughout the film the countryside
and city are constantly being compared through the narrative, the cinematography, and the dialogue
that is presented to the audience. Laszlo Kovac s vivid and expansive camerawork showcases the the
sprawling mountains and endless deserts that are reminiscent of the Western Frontier. The rural
territory that Wyatt and Billy occupy during their breaks is almost idyllic whether they are huddled
around a campfire or sitting in an open field, a reminder of the Western is brought to the surface. The
farmer s ranch and hippie commune that is eventually seen in the film are shown as isolated
settlements, and the heart of the wilderness lies within them. Wyatt first praises the farmer for living
off the land, and says Not every man that can live off the land, you know. You do your own thing in
your own time. You should be proud. He later on conveys his belief that the commune will be able to
produce crops even in the empty field that is seen. Like these people, Billy and Wyatt have rejected
society seeking out their own freedom, living as outlaws like many western heros do. When Wyatt and
Billy are rejected from motels, that is symbolic of the civilized world that they are no longer apart of,
rather they must retreat to the wild to set up camp, often gathering

Exploring Nursing As A Career
The drive to purse nursing as a career stems from an innate passion for helping others. Helping,
healing, and nurturing are all qualities that have grown and developed throughout my life, and have
lead to Nursing. I have always had a caring and supportive spirit since I was young, volunteering
whenever the opportunity arose in Senior Citizen Homes, Special Olympics, and with Anne Arundel
Medical Center. Into my teenage years I realized how much of a difference could be made when
working directly with people, which nurtured this interest into my college career. I recognized my
budding interest in nursing, and I pursued opportunities that would give me greater exposure to
clinical settings that had the potential to broaden my understanding

The Current Unlimited Data Plans
Unlimited data plans undoubtedly encourage increased data usage and most likely challenge network
capacity, requiring higher investments by operators to avoid network congestion. The introduction of
data use pricing model will regulate this issue, and reduce network enhancements to match increasing
data usage, therefore reducing network expenses for KableCom. The current unlimited data plan
however convenient, for the customers, has a downside to KableCom. The increased use has been
brought about by customers watching music and movies, playing online games, participating in video
phone calls and otherwise performing activities using media tablets over the network. This has created
issues of KableCom potentially running out of bandwidth available for customers, resulting in outages
and delays.
Therefore, necessary for KableCom to implement data caps and migrate from unlimited data plans to
data use pricing model, however, many plans shall still have unlimited talk and texts. The network
should also be pulled down from 4G to 2G (Internet throttling) and limit downloads to 2GB per
month. One potential solution under consideration by KableCom is allowing content providers or app
developers to pay carriers so that their services do not count against a customer s monthly data limit
and essentially buying traffic for their content. However, the Internet is designed for all content and
services to be treated equally. Because this solution would give KableCom an unfair advantage over

Comparing Desert And Rainforest
The desert and rainforest are two ecosystems that differ widely. They differ in weather the most. The
desert and rainforest even differ in plant life. The animals that live there differ depending on the
weather. There are even some similarities between the desert and the rainforest. The first thing that is a
big different is the weather. In the desert there is little rain for short periods of time but in the rain
forest it rains most of the year. The desert is hot and dry where when the rainforest is hot and humid.
The desert gets about 1.2 inch of rain a year. Where in the rainforest get about 10.8 inches a year. Now

Constitution And The Federal System
A constitution is a legal document that states what a government is allowed to do and how the
government can do it. It also defines government structures proposing different bodies and agencies an
example being the three branches (legislature, executive, judiciary). The constitution is an important
document specifically to countries with federal systems. A federal system is one where the states get
their authority from the people instead of relying on national government. (Geer et al. 71).
Constitutions are specifically important to countries with federal systems because they prevent
national governments from having too much power, one of the main reasons a federal system exists. A
constitution can be amended in two ways; Congress can propose

Assasination of Leon Trotsky
The Assassination of Leon Trotsky
During the power struggle in Russia, an escaped prisoner of the name Lev Bronstein, was murdered
on August 20th, 1940 by Ramon Mercader. Bronstein was a Russian marxist who went against Stalin s
beliefs. He was forced to leave the country by Stalin s wishes. However, before he left he
accomplished many things such as helping the Bolsheviks into power and creating the South Russian
Workers Union.
Lev Bronstein was born on November 8th, 1879 and grew up in a small town in Yanovka, present day
Ukraine. He was the 5th child of a well off Jewish farmer. When Bronstein was 9, he was sent to
finish his schooling in Nikolayev. As a teenager he was very interested in socialism and helped create
the South Russia Worker s Union. He was later arrested along with 200 other union workers and was
sent to jail for four years. While he was in prison, he married a woman named Aleksandra
Soklovskaya and together they had two daughters . He abandoned his wife and kids. He then escaped
prison, obtained a forged passport and changed his name to Leon Trotsky.
He then moved to London, England where he joined with Lenin and his group of Russian Social
Democrats. He began working on a revolutionary newspaper called Iskra. That same year, he met a
woman named Natalia Sedova. They married and had two sons together. Later, while Russia was in
the middle of a revolution, Trotsky escaped into the capital of Russia and became a spokesperson for

Analysis Of Amazon s Amazon Essay
Amazon has outperformed every other online retailer for the past few years. There is a simple
explanation for their success. Their main strength and why consumers choose Amazon is because they
provide an excellent customer experience. They call it Customer Obsession . If a product on Amazon
is sold by or fulfilled by Amazon, the returning process is extremely simple. In my own experience
with returning products to Amazon, no matter the case, they will pay the shipping and give the
customer a full refund or a replacement for the product. This provides customers with a worry free
experience. There is absolutely no hassle if a product is defective or if the customer simply finds it
unsatisfactory.
Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO also makes it clear that technology is important to the focusing of the
customer. In Amazon s 2010 Annual Report, Bezos said, Look inside a current textbook on software
architecture, and you ll find few patterns that we don t apply at Amazon. We use high performance
transactions systems, complex rendering and object caching, workflow and queuing systems, business
intelligence and data analytics, machine learning and pattern recognition, neural networks and
probabilistic decision making, and a wide variety of other techniques. And while many of our systems
are based on the latest in computer science research, this often hasn t been sufficient: our architects
and engineers have had to advance research in directions that no academic had yet taken. Many of

Civilians Vs California
Farmers vs Civilians Envision yourself, about to complete a straightforward, everyday thing such as
washing the dishes, suddenly to your surprise there is no water coming out of the faucet. Well for the
civilians of East Porterville this is their reality. California has always had very lenient and ineffective
groundwater regulations. Today, this has become a major issue, especially with California s severe
drought. The regulation of the aquifer is a necessity because cleanliness is a basic human right and by
not regulating the groundwater and leaving civilians with no working water, that right is taken away.
The right to bathe, wash your hands, and have a working toilet is simply no more. Furthermore there
are scientific statements, proving that excessively pumping groundwater will lower the water levels,
which will likely lead to the land level sinking as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

De-Extinction Essay
Did you know that scientists are trying to bring extinct animals like the Woolly Mammoth back to
life? That would be cool to see, but is it worth it? Scientists should not bring Woolly Mammoths back
to life. It would be a waste of money, it brings less attention to animals about to go extinct, and it
could hurt the ecosystem.
First, bringing back extinct animals would be a waste of money. In the passage De Extinction
Probably Isn t Worth it it says, Five recently extinct species would come at the cost of conversation
efforts for keeping forty two animals (Zielisk, S., 2017). This supports my opinion because keeping
forty two animals alive is a lot of money. Wasting that on only five extinct animals is insane for me.
Also, on Back From the Dead it says, But the clone, born with lung defects, only lasted seven minutes

you brought an animal back to life, only to live seven minutes. Not only would ... Show more content

On the passage De Extinction Probably Isn t Worth it it says, Even if they re successful, it is probably
a bad idea because it would divert conversation money from still living animals (Zielisk, S., 2017).
This shows my opinion because they spent so much money on trying to de extinct animals, there
would be no more money to take care of all of the still living animals about to go extinct. According to
the passage Back From the Dead it says, Scientists also worry that if scientists can bring extinct
animals back, no one will care about keeping endangered species from becoming extinct (n.a., n.d.).
This supports my opinion because even if they did pull of to have enough money, no one would care
about the endangered species and they would eventually die off. To me, that is not a good thing. These
animals hurting the ecosystem does not sound like a good thing

`` Americanize Immigrants `` By Daniel E. Bender
To establish ways to, subsequently, Americanize immigrants, according to Daniel E. Bender s, Perils
of Degeneration, Reform, the Savage Immigration, and the Survival of the Unfit, settlement houses
and reform organizations demonstrated ways to Americanize new immigrants and encourage the
elimination of the unfit. Established by the upper middle class, appropriately, settlement homes were
placed in the immigrant neighborhoods. The environment that a person resided in determined the
success or degeneration of new immigrants. Therefore, it seemed only appropriate that settlement
houses and reform organizations prevent the inheritance of degenerate traits (Bender, 14).
Fundamentally, degeneracy was viewed as a disease that could be cured. ... Show more content on

Infants were equivalent to the earliest primates and childhood reflected savage and brutal life,
however, also, a recreation of the experience of human evolution (Bender, 12). Children s play was
seen to be similar to savage rituals. The play movement taught that as children play they are revisiting
each stage of human evolution and developing from primitive savages into civilized citizens (Bender,
18). In addition, children were then guided through a complete recapitulation of human racial history
(Bender, 18). Settlement houses transformed the play aspect for children into work instinct. Street boy
gangs within neighborhoods exercised a powerful degenerative pull, too (Bender, 12). These boys
were undoubtedly savage. In order to end this degenerative power, settlement houses replaced the
streets with civilization clubs and gymnasiums, in efforts civilize such primitive members. After
learning the rules for games, received industrial training, and understood dramatic expressions gangs
would then prosper into organized clubs (Bender, 15). Also, within these settlement homes,
immigrants were taught about minstrel shows. The popularity of racially themed plays in settlement
houses reflected public enthusiasm as immigrants learned collective cooperation and individual
creative leadership (Bender, 16).

Military Leader Assessment and Development
Today s military leadership was defined and cultured through revolutions, civil war, conflicts, and
currently a combat era lasting almost ten years. Through recent leadership development changes
brought on by former Secretary of the Army, Dr. Francis Harvey, the military has become an entity
trying to keep ahead of the incessant derogatory diversions to the honorable way of life impeding
military leadership everyday. Disregard for human life, loss of the moral compass, innuendo, and
complacency have caused the hierarchy to struggle with the leadership model that has formed the
civilian populace and ultimately, the future leaders of the military. The leadership model from FM 6 0

Building family readiness groups, singles opportunities, diversity courses, training on Don t Ask, Don
t Tell and involving the Chaplain Corps has, and continues, to build a stronger military. This allows for
a better transition into a civilian position upon leaving the military. Additionally, it allows for a well
rounded leader to the betterment of the organization. The current Warrior Ethos was authorized by
former Army Chief of Staff, Eric K. Shinseki and written (in part) by SFC Matt Larsen, USMC and
US Army. (Washington Post, 2003) It encompasses all thoughts and ideals of a service member in
combat. Although misconstrued with the Soldier s Creed, it is only four lines and focuses on the
mission, the individual, and the team. Leadership and the encouragement of the team is the epitome of
the Warrior Ethos. Using the ethos in everyday activities is stressed throughout all levels of command
and through every phases of military schooling. By taking care of military personnel, whether
delivering logistics, providing medical care, or administrative paperwork, leaders ensure the inclusion
of the ethos. Not taking care of personnel, we ultimately do a disservice to them and their families.
Over the next ten years, honor and values must be stressed in the military. The American people trust
the military more than they trust their own elected officials. As

Same Day Cancellations Essay
Cancellation of same day surgeries on the day of surgery in Australian hospitals was a major issue.
The cancellations of the same day surgeries was not a good use of operating rooms, time and staff. Not
only are cancellations a waste of hospital resources and staff, it is a significant inconvenience to
patients and their families. The cancellations were such a problem it made the headlines of the Sydney
Morning Herald. The Herald obtained data from the public records of The New South Wales Health

The biggest problem the Australian Hospital faced was a lack of beds despite the federal government s
$600 million elective surgery blitz in 2009 and 2010 (Wallace, 2011). The NSW planned an additional
400 beds, which still would not be adequate for the estimated 9,000 patients that would have their
surgeries canceled. According to Owler, It comes down to beds ... we do need to have a certain
number of beds, particularly in places like Westmead and Nepean, where demand is high. It s unusual
for us to cancel patients because we ve run out of time. Another 1450 beds were needed to address the
problem (Wallace, 2011). While adding more beds would help it will not solve the cancellation
problems unless the other major factors were addressed.
The data from the surgery dashboard showed the only time the benchmark for same day cancellations
was met was when it was set at 5 % in early 2007 (Wallace, 2011). The benchmark was changed to 2
% in March 2007. Deputy Smyth was satisfied with a 4 5% rate because all the other Australian
hospitals performed at that rate. Concerning, the benchmark, I think complacency contributed more to
the health system not reaching their goal than bias. Perhaps, the deputy needed a better understanding
of benchmarking. The goal of benchmarking is not

  • 2. Evidence of Dissociative Identity Disorder in Fight Club In the movie Fight Club we are introduced to an average, white collared, middle aged man who is seemingly normal at first glance. However, it is clear that the narrator suffers from insomnia, anxiety, and depression very early in the film. The narrator attempts to combat these symptoms in a number of ways, however, the only way that he has found to be effective is by attending support groups on a nightly basis. The narrator soon creates an alter ego (though we do not know he is his alter ego until the end of the film) named Tyler Durden. Durden is more attractive, has a better physique, and is overall more confident than the narrator and Durden regularly takes control of the narrator without the narrator s knowledge to carry out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What is more, the narrator flagrantly engages in impulsive, irresponsible, risk taking behaviors that place him and the general public in danger. According to Sadock Sadock(2007) dissociative identity disorder commonly presents with many of the same symptoms that plague the narrator in stating, affect modulation is frequently disturbed, giving rise to mood swings, depression, suicidal tendency, and generalized irritability. Impulse control is often impaired, leading to risk taking, substance abuse, and inappropriate or self destructive behaviors. High levels of anxiety and panic are common (p. 672). Based on all of the narrator s symptoms it is clear that the narrator fits the diagnostic criteria for dissociative identity disorder not otherwise specified. The diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder requires the individual to have two separate personalities or identities that take control of the individual. In this specific case, the narrator only suffers from one separate identity taking control and therefore he does not meet the criteria for dissociative identity disorder. The DSM IV TR supports diagnosing the narrator with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Cause And Consequences Of Homelessness In The United States Homelessness As I drove through the streets of New Orleans I constantly see homeless people sleeping in tents under the overpass on Claiborne Avenue commonly named tent city . I wondered what were the psychological reasons of those that ended up homeless, the statistics, causes, and consequences of homelessness combined with the effect it has on society. There are various reasons that homelessness exists in the United States, the most common reason is due to a lack of affordable housing. Homelessness is more predominant in urban areas than in rural regions of the U.S. According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, approximately 578,424 people were identified as homeless in the United States as of January 2014. The Great Depression in 1929 was another catastrophic event in American history that led to major economic hardships for millions of citizens that further propelled homelessness. Although these historical events are from the past the residual effects are impacting the U.S. society and culture today. Slavery was a part of the United States since the beginning of the American Revolution, which placed a racial division between the whites and blacks. Although slavery was abolished during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln, the effects of racism lingered continuously and are sadly still affecting many African Americans today in certain ways. After World War II, America improved greatly; in terms of economic wealth. This was a time of financial prosperity and innovative technological advancements. Caucasians in America benefitted greatly from the country s newfound wealth; however African Americans were not so lucky. They found themselves segregated from the whites and prohibited from certain rights. Some of these rights involved housing and employment opportunities. While the Caucasians in the U.S. had access to their preferred employment and housing, African Americans and other minorities were not granted these same rights. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Beltway Sniper Murders The beltway sniper was a shooting spree that occurred in different areas throughout Washington DC, the Metropolitan area, and Virginia, in October, 2002. It was a two men rampage committed by John Allen Muhammad, who was the leader of the attacks, and his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo. An interesting fact is that Malvo was only 17 years old when he participated in the three week reign of terror. They did not have a specific objective because random civilians were shot and killed during three weeks. There was a total of ten deaths, and three more critically wounded. They were also connected with seven more deaths and three people injured in previous crimes. First, their main goal was to take down Muhammad s ex wife. By killing people at random, the ex wife s murder would look like just another tragic death in the sniper s killing list. Fortunately, for the ex wife, Muhammed was unable to reach his goal and she was not killed or injured by him. Their base of operations was a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan. The car was used as a rolling sniper s nest. It was the perfect component for their evil and horrific plan because it was an effective getaway. They prepared ... Going back to the phone call, the sniper mentioned an unsolvable murder committed in Alabama. It was a liquor store robbery and it was the place where investigators found the first major evidence to show the murderer s identity; a fingerprint of Lee Boyd Malvo, which later led to his guardian, John Allen ... An incentive is something that encourages a person to do something or work harder (Incentive). It says right in the definition that it is motivating. Since people make decisions by comparing costs and benefits (Mankiw), when there is an incentive, or larger benefit, they will make a different choice. When people are shopping at grocery stores and two brands of cereal are the same price but one includes a prize inside, this prize acts as an incentive for the customer to buy that brand of cereal. These days, people can just turn on the TV and watch the full game for free. By letting the public watch and listen to sports games for free, they are able to grow in popularity and become well known. Once they are well known, people will want to watch that athlete and buy his merchandise such as jerseys, as well as other things with that player s name or number on them. This is encouraging people to spend money on clothes and items, which is gaining money for the players and teams. Since the MLB established its Advanced Media site in 2000, it generated 380 million dollars by 2007 and continues to grow at about 30% a year. They are getting 380 million more dollars that they did without technology, even without adding in the merchandise revenue. One of the main reasons for multinational corporations to produce goods in countries other than the United States is the cost of production. In recent years the conditions in sweatshops in China, Japan, and elsewhere have garnered public outcry from Countries like the U.S. and most of Europe. • 13. The History Of Early Law Enforcement Dylan Drover Mrs. Dozier English 11 March 24, 2015 Law Enforcement The history of early law enforcement really has been around since ancient times. In these times guards that worked for the lords of kingdoms were assigned the job of collecting taxes. Though the first real law enforcement as we see it today goes back to the colonial age in both England and newly found America. Colonial America followed the the British form of a police organization. This idea was a sheriff appointed by the governor of a colony, enforced laws, collected taxes and maintained public property throughout the colony. These levels allow more control because some departments focus on bigger issues in the states where as smaller local departments will work on smaller issues in their own communities. The amount law enforcement has evolved over the years has made it more capable and able to deal with the problems of this new age much different than that of the revolutionary time period. Law enforcement has evolved because as time went on technologies came along which criminals had access to and crimes got more creative and complex. For example a rather new crime with modern society and new technologies brought on is cyberbullying. As the time went on and the law enforcement system evolved and crimes got more serious and in depth and technologies advanced for both criminals and police. This is why another important thing changed in law enforcement, the equipment that they carry. The first law enforcements system in the United States in the pre revolutionary and revolutionary times was the night watch which was similar to the modern day neighborhood watch. They didn t wear uniforms or carry guns they mostly just watched out for suspicious activity and made people aware of anything that went wrong. Then as time went on this equipment wasn t satisfactory for the new age. This is when many cities start to make law enforcement systems became official by issuing uniforms and guns many times. • 19. Chemical Reactions And The Chemical Reaction Introduction Chemistry is a branch of science commonly defined as the study of the structure, properties, and reactions of the chemical elements and the compounds they form (The American Heritage Science Dictionary, 2002). This definition is very general and covers a range of study areas, including those that are an asset to society. Chemical reactions are studied by many chemists as they common occurrences in everyday life (Stewart, 2014). Without chemical reactions people would be unable to perform simple tasks that are essential for quality of life and even life itself, such as cooking, lighting a match and breathing (Helmenstine, 2015). A chemical reaction occurs when a chemical change takes place, producing new substances. However, all chemical reactions are different and vary greatly in the time it takes for them to occur (Chem4kids.com, 2015). A Reaction rate is the speed it takes for a chemical reaction to occur. That is, how fast a reactant is used up or a product is formed (BBC, 2014). Rates of reaction are essential in important tasks such are medicine administration and it is therefore crucial for scientists to understand how they work and what affects them (Lofts, 2012). The mechanics of reaction rates is based around the theory of collision, proposed by Max Trautz and William Lewis in the early 1900 s. The theory suggests that reactant particles must collide for a chemical reaction to occur, the more collisions that occur, the faster the reaction rate will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Premarital Sex And Its Effects In a study conducted in the United States, 61 percent of men and 12 percent of women born prior to 1910 admitted to having premarital sex; the gender disparity may have been caused by cultural double standards regarding the admission of sexual activity. Starting in the 1920s, and especially after World War II, premarital sex became more common; this was especially prevalent among women. By the end of the 20th century, between 75 and 80 percent of Americans had sex before the age of 19. During the colonial period, premarital sex was publicly frowned upon but privately condoned to an extent. Even though premarital sex was somewhat condoned, having a child outside of wedlock was not. If a pregnancy resulted from premarital sex, the young couple were expected to marry. Beginning in the 1950s, as premarital sex became more common, the stigma attached to it lessened for many people. Love began to become enough for a reason to practice sex, instead of marriage or engagement in the eyes of many. The percentage of ever married men and women who had premarital sex (20 44 years old) between 2006 and 2010 is 90.6% men and 86% women (www.cdc.gov). A new study of 38.000 Americans has found that 95% had premarital sex (www.truthdig.com). Their relationship proves to be important to the story in many different ways, including how it affects the characters as individuals throughout the play. Not one character is confident enough to speak out against or even for their partner or loved ones, resulting in their disastrous endings. The way Hamlet and Ophelia interact with each other is easily connected to how they interact with their parents. Hamlet s relationship with his mother is extremely complicated; almost as much as his relationship with Ophelia. Gertrude is physically harmed by her son numerous times, and is often highly insulted as well. During their confrontation of Hamlet s behaviour, Hamlet even states (Hamlet offends mom). This complete negligence for his mother s feelings perfectly reflects in his relationship with Ophelia. When Ophelia confronts Hamlet of his feelings not only does he physically harm her, but he also states (nunnery quote). This quote is a near mirror image of the previous to his mother, emphasizing his contempt of the women surrounding him. Hamlet refuses to speak any truth to the characters surrounding him; ultimately destroying them with himself, taking his relationship with Ophelia down as well. Opposedly, Ophelia and Polonius relationship is respectful in both ways, yet fragile too. Ophelia is completely compliant to her father and is even willing to give up Hamlet to affiliate to his needs. Polonius treats Ophelia more as a pet however than a daughter; either showing her off to the king and queen or baiting her for Hamlet. • 26. Film Analysis Of The Film Easy Rider Easy Rider Analysis America in the 1960 s was a time of turbulence and chaos. A nation divided in the midst of the counterculture movement that was sparked by a generational split and fueled by the Vietnam War, America was struggling for change. The New Hollywood took these issues into account and translated them onscreen. Films of the New Hollywood centered around the protagonist, often depicting them as an anti hero, who suffered from alienation and conflict within society. In the film Easy Rider these themes are exemplified through its reinvention of the Western genre. Dennis Hopper uses this film as a way to convey ideas of the Western by placing into a modern setting that embodies the feeling of 1960 s America. The Western in Easy Rider is depicted primarily through the conflict between the rural and urban environments displayed onscreen. Throughout the film the countryside and city are constantly being compared through the narrative, the cinematography, and the dialogue that is presented to the audience. Laszlo Kovac s vivid and expansive camerawork showcases the the sprawling mountains and endless deserts that are reminiscent of the Western Frontier. The rural territory that Wyatt and Billy occupy during their breaks is almost idyllic whether they are huddled around a campfire or sitting in an open field, a reminder of the Western is brought to the surface. The farmer s ranch and hippie commune that is eventually seen in the film are shown as isolated settlements, and the heart of the wilderness lies within them. Wyatt first praises the farmer for living off the land, and says Not every man that can live off the land, you know. You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud. He later on conveys his belief that the commune will be able to produce crops even in the empty field that is seen. Like these people, Billy and Wyatt have rejected society seeking out their own freedom, living as outlaws like many western heros do. When Wyatt and Billy are rejected from motels, that is symbolic of the civilized world that they are no longer apart of, rather they must retreat to the wild to set up camp, often gathering ... The introduction of data use pricing model will regulate this issue, and reduce network enhancements to match increasing data usage, therefore reducing network expenses for KableCom. The current unlimited data plan however convenient, for the customers, has a downside to KableCom.
